1. I will look at this again once Christmas is past. I've read the posts so I'm caught up, but with family and events right now, I have no time to sit down and write anything.
2. If I had that luxury of going back five years, I'd probably tell myself to skip having one surgery that not only didn't solve anything, but nearly killed me in the process. It was believed that it would help my disability since usually it does for someone with my health, but it ended up being a waste of time.
3. That's really is a shame hun. Just do what you can to be there for her since having a miscarriage is very stressful. You may not be able to do much, but just being there will be enough.
4. I haven't lost interest, but I'm not sure what, if anything needs to be posted on my part. If you have something you'd like me to cover Shy, just let me know.
5. I don't even know where to begin with this one. No matter how I look at it, all I can do is well ... laugh.
6. That's one blunder he's never gonna be able to live down. I'd definitely say he earned the title 'jackass' for that little stunt.
7. And I just noticed the different user titles. Not sure what I think of them. I'd recommend using something different, but I don't know what to suggest.
8. I think they have good intentions, but at the same time, I think they're going about it the wrong way. Short of putting kids in bubbles, they're not going to be able to stop people from having contact with one another.
9. It did make me laugh. However at the same time, it seems more like a gimmick than anything that would truly be useful.
10. I can't even imagine ever doing something like that to my own parents. I never did, ever. Fortunately, none of my own children behaved in this manner. We've had our differences of course, but even working those out never included threats to call the police or tossing food about. I have to agree with the sentiment that if they're allowing their gaming time to interfere with stuff like dinner, then they don't need to be playing until they learn to not allow it to get in the way
11. I don't text while driving for a couple of reasons. The first being that I rarely drive and the second being that until a few years ago, my vision was too poor to be able to read it well enough to even send a text message.
12. If sleep is for the weak, then I wish to be more weak. Lately, due to medications, I have a great deal of difficulty sleeping. I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't leave me with little energy during the day. Anyway, I definitely prefer getting eight hours a night. As for the number of days I've gone without, I think the most I've ever done that has been around three.
13. I got that it was intended to be humorous. It was fairly obvious if one is familiar with Psalm 23, which I am. I'll admit it, it made me laugh. :catgirl:
14. Goodness Shy, I think this is one of the silliest threads you've started yet. ;)
15. I realize my response here will only cover a few items, but I see no reason ro repeat what has been covered already. Instead, I'll briefly touch a few reasons why I'm not opposed to the reform.
So it is in the interests of shareholders and insurers to provide as little coverage as possible.
This, a thousand times over. I've lost count of the times that friends, family and even myself have had to FIGHT the insurance companies to get coverage on procedures. Sooner or later, you get exasperated, and give up on fighting it. You still have to pay the bill anyway, regardless of whether or not your insurance will finally pay like they should. Hell, even when my father passed away recently, his insurance attempted to bail on covering nearly $100,000 worth of procedures that were done while he was in the hospital during his final week.
If you really didn't want to have a public alternative though, it would be necessary to at least radically reform the private system - and I doubt that will happen anytime soon.
I don't see this happening anytime soon either. It takes massive effort and actually suing the insurance companies over not providing coverage to get it changed. No matter how people spin it, denying coverage over preexisting conditions, among other things, needs to end. In my opinion, reform is long overdue.
