Preface: This is not a thread on whether or not you celebrate Halloween. If you don't, don't post. It's not the Devil's Birthday; it originated as the Pagan celebration of the end of summer (Samhain). I know it's only the third of October, but heck. Halloween is everyday. So, my question is, how do you celebrate Halloween? Do you go trick-or-treating (still?), or what? Do you dress up? This year, I have two opportunities to wear a costume. One of them is this Friday, and the other is, of course, Halloween. For Friday, I hope to have the resources to dress up as Jade Puget, the guitarist of AFI. I already have a guitar, which is sort of what inspired the costume idea. Friday is my friend's birthday, and she's having a costume party. For Halloween, though, I want to be Davey Havok (AFI's singer). I was Davey two years ago, but I want to throw together a little better representation of him this time around. I don't know what I'll do Halloween night, though...I'll probably just walk around my neighborhood with some friends. It gives a good excuse to be out when it's dark. However, it can be Halloween almost every weekend for me! The local zoo here has a carnival type thing called ZooBoo that teenagers can volunteer for. In doing so, I will put on a generic, tattered costume and wear some cheap monster makeup, then hide in a dark place in one of the featured attractions...and when an unsuspecting person approaches...I leap out and scream, "GALILEO FIGARO!!" and make them spill beer all over the place in fright. Awe. Some.
Yes, i'm dressing up for haloween this year. I'm going to do cosplaying :D yay! I'm being shuuko from rockman.exe and also am going to drive everyone crazy that is unfortunate enough to see me go nuts on haloween. Candy = sugar which will make me extra hyper for the next couple months afterwards. Good for me, bad for everyone else. Also, there's a lot of oppertunitys to dress up in costume and get even more candy. Lot of partys means lots of fun as well as seeing old haloween movies on tv for the 50th time.

Whoa. I've never heard of people killing other people ove just toilet paper. That's ridicluous. i have heard of somone killing ove a video game but toilet paper? That can not be good. Soon it will probably get more and more ridiculous as people will start to kill over the simplist things.

I watched a couple of animes when i was a litttle kid. They were pokemon, yugioh, cardcaptors, sailor moon, and digimon. I really liked those shows when I was new to anime and I still like cardcaptors and sailor moon. It would be cool if those were still on.

Anime Why Do People Love Anime So Much?
mangamaniack21 replied to NightAlchemist's topic in Otaku Central
I love anime because the characters have everything I don't. A pretty look, a hot guy (or a couple of them), their hot guy saves them, yeah, I'm sure you get the point. Its sad how I'm a hopeless romantic. So. But I also enjoy anime cause it has action, and its so cool to see the characters move like that and stuff. I love it sooooo much. More than you. So nyeah!
Same here. I also love anime because in some animes the character designs are soo good! Also, I love the storys that are very different from american cartoons and involve a lot of supernatural stuff. Another reason is that I like the way that anime is animated espically when a character's hair blows in the wind. How could you not love anime if you go on OB? -
I use internet explorer even though it drops the server somtimes. It still coneccts to the internet and works so I'm okay with it. I have used firefow though, but the only difference is that it seems faster.

I prefer dubbed because where I live there's not many places to buy subbed versiond unless you order it. Also, I like to watch it in english so I can like hear the voice actresses and actors. I still am fond of subtitles but, I've only watched one anime in subbed version and it was still as good as the dub. I know a lot of people absolutly loath and gripe about dubs like CCS or somthing like that but they really aren't that terrible. I don't really mind the voices that much.

Anime What do you look for in an anime and what do you dislike in one?
mangamaniack21 replied to Magus's topic in Otaku Central
In an anime, I look for good art quality, a really exiting plot. and lots of good storys. I usaually like one with lots of colors as well. I like fantasy and sci-fi. As for what i don't like, is an anime that is just about regular life, or one with a lot of robots. I'm not a big fan of the mecha jenre. Also, if it's boring or if it's like for little kids than i probably woin't like it. -
What's in your car, purse or wallet
mangamaniack21 replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Well, I have a lot of crap in my purse. There's a dollar, some change, buisness cards that I forgot to throw away, a borders rewards card, and a couple of other stuff that i forgot about. Wow, I really need to clean it out some time. It's too big and has too much stuff in it. -
I've only seen a couple episodes of the anime and I've read volume 1 of the manga. It is a really good series and I wish that it would continue on after the movie is over. I saw this one episode where ed
dies because of envy. I didn't know envy was a boy at first, he looked like a girl to me.

mangamaniack21 I added spoiler tags to your post. When discussing an aspect of a show that would spoil it for someone who has yet to see it. Always use spoiler tags. Just take a quick look at the sticky titled spoiler tags for quick and easy instructions on how to use them. ~indifference

Anime Recommended Anime of the Week ^-^
mangamaniack21 replied to MrsKakashi's topic in Otaku Central
Galaxy angel is good. I reccomend that one because it is funny and the plot is really awesome. Other than that the art is pretty good in my opinion. I haven't watched the anime yet but I'm sure that it is as good as the manga. -
I couldn't belive it when I heard the news. And he was killed by a stingray?! I, like everyone else, thought that he was going to ber killed by a crockidile. The tail went right though his chest or somthing like that. Ouch! That had to hurt. But that is a good sign that you shouldn't really be playing with stingrays.
1) favorite character? 2)favorite season? 3) least favorite character? 4) Least favorite season? 5) Do you hate DIC and Cartoon Network for dubbing the show? 6) Have you seen the fifth season yet?
1. My favorite character is sailor mercury because I took some personality quizzes and I kept getting her, I like her attacks as well ^_^. 2. My favorite season is super s because I like all of the action in that season and I kinda think that the amazon quartet is awesome. (Even though they are supposed to be evil) 3. My least favorite character is sailor uranus. She looks like a boy in some parts and she wouldn't help the other sailor scouts at first. 4. None, I like them all 6. Not yet, I haven't but I'd like too a lot. I thoiught that there were only three seasons.

mangamaniack21 replied to mangamaniack21's topic in Otaku Central
That is so cool how i saw you guys were writting about this, because just last night i was doing designing filter sketches for my made up characters, and they look actually quite good! :animesmil My mom and dad seem to like how i draw the hair, and my friend Olivia thinks I do the eyes very distincly, so im thinkin about soaring to the top in manga bussiness! Good luck to me! XD
My friends like the way that I draw the hair and eyes of my characters. I do not like the way I draw the bodies of my characters. Thet're really bad. Good luck on you manga though :animesmil . I should spend more time on mine, I don't do it so often anymore. -
Manga What happens when i try to draw manga...improved
mangamaniack21 replied to mangamaniack21's topic in Otaku Central
I don't know if this is off-topic, but WOW you create your own manga? Any chance you can scan it onto the computer and then host the images? I would [I]really[/I'] like to see it. :luv:
Yeah, I do create my own manga when ever I get a lot of spare time. But I don't think that I can host an image thread with it, sorry. I don't have a scanner but if I find one at a library or somthing I'll probably post it. There is a slight chance that I can post it but I probably won't get a chance to. -
Okay, so my current favorite band is muse. I've only got one of there CDs and that one is absolution. My guitar teacher taught me to play a couple of songs from that cd.

I have a lot of weried anime dreams. In fact, I just had one last night. IT was strange. All of my anime dreams usaually have to do with rockman.exe and include netto in them.

I would choose manga over anime for a couple resons. One is that if the power goes out or somthing there's always a flashligh so that you can still read it. And, you can read it anytime you like and you don't nead a dvd player to be with you at all times. Also, I love the art quality of manga and I tend to read the same volume many times over. I still like anime a lot but given a choice I would have to say manga.

One of my worst barfing expirences was one day when I ate too much at old country buffet and I threw up in the grass after I had left the restuarant. I knew that I shouldn't have had that many dishes. Well the puke was all over the grass and my Dad and brother were avoiding me the rest of the night. And that is my gross story.

Anime Eqiuvalent Exchange The 1st Law of Alchemy
mangamaniack21 replied to AnimeHeroX's topic in Otaku Central
This is the 1st law of Alchemy we all know what happens to Edward and Al The question I pose to all if you if someone you loved was dead would you make the same sacrifice as they did but this time you could it right and bring the person back correclty but you still lose your parts. would you? and let me also state this their is no Philosopher stone to bring you body back. would you still perform the Alchemy? do you also beleive that when you lost something in Alchemy something greater is gained? or have you just lost everything vaulable to you?
If someone I love was dead and I was faced with that situation, than I would not do it for a number of different reasons. First of all, to bring back people from the dead could be risky. They might not be exactly what they used to be whether emotianaly or physicaly. I would probably protect the person with my life, but then I might not be willing to give it all up for somthing that might not happen. -
I've seen the first hour of the movie and it was really funy, but I didn't get to see the ending. I like the part where the bear police officer was questoning the wolf and red's grandmother. ]I was really surprised to find out that the grandmother loved adventure at first, but then I realized that in the movie, eveyone seemed to be the opposite of what they were in the fairy tales that they were from.
What do all ya'll do when you're not on Otaku? I mean, besides anime/manga/other forums? Like, what are your hobbies? Mine include music of all sorts, writing, and photography. Plus, I'm really active in my church.
I guess I like to play my acoustic guitar, write lots of fanfiction stories, read books, go to church, and just go to school. I don't have time for some of these hobbies sometimes, but I will eventually get to do most of then. Also, somtimes I find myself trying to draw somting from real life, but it usually doesn't turn out that good. I'm really busy during the school year and I usaually join clubs such as reading olyimpics or bowling. I try to go to guitar lessons when I'm not to busy :animesigh .
I'm looking for comedy related anime. So far I've been told that these are pretty good: Girls Bravo Ikki Tousen Tenhojo Tenge Fruit Basket Tsubasa Card Captor Sakura Please, if anyone can think of any others that they think I might like, let me know. My friend Jess just recently introduced me to anime. I used to think it was kind of weird but some of it can be really funny. Spirited Away was a really good movie. I was also told that Princess Mononoke is a good one. I'm planning on buying that.
Well, I guess galaxy angel and megman nt warrior are both comedy related. They are both very funny and crazy in some parts. card captor sakura is pretty good, and it also has a lot of funny parts. You might like the two that I recomended, but I'm not positive that you'll like them. They both are very good, and if you like scifi/fantasy as well as comedy then I think that these too might be good for you.
