I'm not sure if she's right, but I feel really wiped out anyway, so I'll get it sometime this week...

How Coincidental, I plan on getting a tattoo today if I don't whimp out. Actually, I want a total of 4 tattoos right now. I may want more later on, depending on how addicting they really are. I also have an eyebrow piercing and I'm planning on getting two lip piercings.

I was in my 6th grade home room class. English, I think with my teacher, Mrs. Pena... I believe we were covering prepositional phrases when the principal knocked on the door. She called my teacher out of the class, and I remember the collective "Oooooh, you're in trouble" that the class made every time you got called to the office either through a knock on the door or through the intercom. It was no different for the teacher. (Even though it was a joke) She was out there for quite a while, and we were all beginning to get rowdy. One troublemaker, Zeke, pulled the wire out of his notebook and heated it up through friction on the back of his chair... Then he proceeded to burn people. I knew something was up when people were running around trying to tattle on Zeke and Mrs. Pena didn't come back into the class. I could still see her outside, talking to the principal. Her back was turned... When she finally walked back in, we all sat down real quick, as if to pretend that we weren't just running rampant through the class. She paid no attention and walked very quickly to the back of the classroom and stared out the window. I thought she was mad at the class, but it wasn't until the girl sitting behind me, Amanda, said aloud that she was crying. A bunch of students started asking her what was wrong, and finally she turned to us and said that a bomb went off in the WTC... Yeah, it was a big deal, but at the time, I didn't really know what the World Trade Center was... I found out that it was in New York and that it wasn't a bomb as soon as the 2nd plane hit... Most of the kids didn't really care. They were all running around saying "Did you hear?" It was just gossip that little kids didn't really understand. Some parents came and picked up their kids, but I had to stay for the whole day. Luckily, none of my teachers made us do work, and at that age, not doing work far surpassed the terrorist attack. Anyway, I found out later that my brother got to watch it live as the 2nd plane hit, as he was in a tech. ed. class with TVs... And when I saw the footage at home and all over the place for the following months, I thought "Wow. This is bad." Anyway, the night of the incident, my parents dragged me along to a church, where we watched Bush give his famous speech reassuring the country and whatnot. (We didn't even know what was in store for us at the time...) And then, the pastor of the church, asked us to pray for the families, the victims, the firefighters, and the police. Each time it was about 10 minutes, so we were there for quite awhile. Perhaps the part that impacted me the most was when I made the connection that my mom was supposed to be in the tower that very day... I knew she was supposed to go on a business trip to NYC, but it had been delayed. Several months later, (When she had actually gotten back from her newly updated business trip) I checked out her original itinerary and saw that she actually had it written down to eat breakfast in that restaurant (I forgot the name, what tower, and what floor, but it was pretty high up and pretty famous from what I understand) on the morning of September 11th... That freaked me out completely and from that point on, I didn't remember 9/11 as the day America experienced the biggest terrorist attack in history. I remembered it as the day my mom dodged a bullet because I knew she would have been killed. So really, even though it may sound selfish, that's all I'm able to associate with 9/11 because I was so young at the time... I really had no feelings about what was going on in the country.

[SIZE="1"]Alright, so I'm in this group at school called Oklahoma Students for Uganda. We work to raise money for the organization "Invisible Children," which helps rebuild schools in Uganda among many other things... We had our first meeting today and one of the main topics of conversation is what we could do for fundraising. Something original and creative... I'm not much of the idea person, so I come to OtakuBoards with a question: What can I do? Every year, OSFU hold an event called Elevator Music, in which we get live guitarists and violinists, etc. to ride the elevators at the dorms for a few hours and take donations. Apparently last year, they raised about $300 dollars in a few short hours off of freshmen pocket change... We're also going to be having a benefit concert for the organization with a screening of the new IC movie. And there are several events set up throughout the school year at restaurants where between a certain period of time, we get 15% of the revenue that the restaurant makes. Also, this isn't just about money. Invisible Children has also started a book drive so any ideas on how to get used books would be much appreciated... One girl in the meeting came up with the idea of having admission to one of the events be a book. (Things like that) So, if you have any ideas, please feel free to drop them here and I would much appreciate it, along with IC and OSFU! Whatever's comfortable. But my most favorite articles of clothing come from American Apparel!!! The softest, coolest clothes to wear EVER! I'll pretty much shop anywhere. Hot Topic, American Eagle, The Gap, Guess, etc... The only place I refuse to step foot in is A&F... As far as actual articles of clothing, I mostly just wear T-shirts, jeans, and high top converse. However, If I could wear the same thing ever day of the year (without getting strange looks) it would be my stretch denim (skinny) jeans and my black v-neck. Therefore, I'm only in university college, but my planned major is Professional Writing. But of my classes right now, my favorite is Anthropology 2203: Peoples of the World. [/B] Well, my field of choice: Because, not only is writing my passion, but OU offers one of the better programs for Journalism/Mass Communications. (That's my department) Plus, I like writing everything, and even though my goal is to have a book published, I wouldn't mind just being a journalist. Supposedly PW majors are like a jack of all trades because you sample all the majors in the department. Plus, I'm minoring in Film and Video Studies so I'll be set for writing screenplays and such if I choose. My favorite class: Well, I'll be honest, I only have 4 classes, and they're all boring pre-requisites so Anthropology isn't exactly the most interesting; it's just the best of the 4. But still, it is a very entertaining subject to learn about given the content of our class conversations. And the instructor really tries so that's always important. [B]What's your ideal job?[/B] Well, a writer of some sort. Poet, author, screenplays, etc... But if that doesn't work out, I've always found investigative journalism extremely interesting...

So, I just moved into my dorm yesterday. College is certainly [insert adjective here], but I've already found myself with a problem. I am in no way social at all... And being the only one from my graduating class that's attending OU, I don't know how to make friends. I went to my school for 10 years, so I never had to worry about making friends. But here, I feel like I've forgotten. I do have one person I know, but she's a year older (not that it makes a huge difference) and she's a sorority girl. I don't want to be that guy who only has gal pals... I would try to be friends with my roommate, but as of right now, I don't have one. :( He decided to attend another college at the last minute and the school didn't know that, so I'm without one for about a week or so... (Maybe longer) So, what do I do? I can't just be a loner, but I don't know how to meet people. HELP!

I would love to go to the London 2012 olympics. As far as the sports go, I love watching the swimming and gymnastics. Michael Phelps breaking records left and right. Natalie Coughlin stepping up to the plate for the women, Lezak barely clenching the gold for the team 4X200 Free, etc. Gymnastics: I was so disappointed with the women. (I could feel that girl's pain) Of course, you can't blame it all on her, even if she was the only one who fell. (Twice!) I think that the coach is also to blame, and it's not like all of the other girls were perfect. (Unfortunately, I had really high hopes after China's leader fell on her beam routine) Currently, I'm watching the Men's All-around. Routing for Johnathan Horton. (And it doesn't hurt that he went to the college I'll be attending in two weeks) I saw him on the rings for the team, and was very impressed! Also, did anyone see Alexander Artemev on the pommel horse??? AMAZING! But I also like watching the events that are covered on CNBC and exclusively online. They're fun to watch even though I don't understand what's going on. (Like fencing, and judo, and even badminton) I especially find Trampoline interesting. I've never heard of it before this olympic game, but I thought it was interesting to hear that USA qualified their first ever male competitor. It's very enjoyable to watch them doing all those advanced tricks/flips 30+ feet in the air.

I think it's a great idea, but I'm with Sandy on wanting to keep the same characters from show to show...

And here I was, thinking this thread was about discussing what you like about the olympics and what events you were watching... Darn :animedepr I can't really say anything that hasn't been said yet. I agree with all of you to a degree. How about that? But I'm not really interested in China's government; that's not really the point of the olympics... *still sad that he can't discuss the strange sports*

(I had to put myself in that position and think that I would probably do the same if I saw a group of mysterious and beautiful people who never interacted with anyone) I think there are two main things that destroyed the book for me. 1) I love vampires, and while every author has their own creative view to express, I personally despise what Meyer did to the vampire mythology. (Anne Rice all the way!!!) 2) I'm just really cynical. I want to be an author eventually. And I'm not going to say that I'm better than Meyer, but I just get very picky about books. I've read a completely boring and pointless book before that kept my attention just because of the detail. Meyer was on the opposite side of the spectrum. She had a potentially great story (well, to some, it's already a great story) and I think she ruined it. besides the lack of description (I pictured a buff, pale guy with body glitter when she described Edward in the sunlight. LOLZ) there was no real plot devices. It was just Bella being nosy, trying to figure out what Edward was and Edward being nosy because he can't read her thoughts. It was all go here, examine here, meet here, and then bad guys come, kill them, move on... *yawn* The most exciting part was when I found out James was responsible for turning Alice... But then they killed him. It's like the one twist the book had was smothered before it had a chance to turn into something really interesting. (And I don't know, maybe they covered that in more detail in the other books, but I didn't care at that point) For that reason, I actually think the movie will be better. One of my best friends is a total Twilight freak, (she's read all of them like 6 times, owns a bunch of shirts, etc.) and she's already upset because, from the behind-the-scenes stuff, she says there's going to be a lot of inconsistencies with the book. And personally, I'm happy with that! At least Melissa Rosenberg knows how to write something interesting and I hope she was able to develop some sort of plot out of the fat pile of nothing Meyer gave her. (Rosenberg wrote the screenplay, in case you were wondering) And you really should watch Pattinson in HP4. And you might want to pick up Into the Wild, so you can see Stewart. Even though her role in that movie is short, you can really tell that she's got talent from that movie.[/SIZE]

With a monstrous claw, it began fishing something out of a hole in its head that Kazimir hadn't noticed before. Pulling out a silver bullet "Now do you recognize your brother?" He examined the young hunter with pure excitement, as though he were playing with his food. The flesh from his brother's face began peeling and falling to the ground until there was nothing but muscles and exposed bone. With one last demonic roar, it charged. His brother charged to kill him.[/I] Kazimir jolted upright and thrust his fist, (the one that was holding a blade in it) to the side. [B]"Holy shit, man!"[/B] Martin was holding the back the blade from piercing his neck. [B]"I was only trying to wake you up. You were having a nightmare or something."[/B] It was night outside, and the two were still on their Journey to New Orleans. If he wasn't as quick as he was last time, he might not be able to protect himself from getting stabbed. The hunter pulled over at a gas station. After grabbing some snacks to make the rest of the trip, Kazimir took over the responsibility of driving. When they pulled back out, Martin was occupying himself with his weapons and choking down junk food. Kazimir was just glad to be keeping his mind busy. But he knew he couldn't do it for much longer. [SIZE="1"]Eh, I've been debating the movie for quite some time, but in my opinion, it can't be as bad as the book. (Yes, I'm one of the Twilight haters, but that's another story) As far as actors go, Pattinson and Stewart are two of my favorite. Of course, I've only seen Pattinson in HP4, but he played the part very well and I don't expect him to do any worse here. Unfortunately for Kristen, I feel that she's been scrutinized so much because of the way she looks. (Which let's face it, she's not half-bad) I don't think Meyer really described any of her characters physical appearance to the point of such anger at Stewart's casting. From what I can tell, Bella is supposed to be pretty, but just average... And with the way I've seen Kristen (behind the scenes/interviews) portray and interact with Robert as her character, I'm pretty sure she'll do fine. A lot of movie critics have said that she really blossomed in [I]Into the Wild[/I], despite how short of a role it was, and I can't agree more. As far as unhappy casting: Emmett, Rosalie, Laurent, and Victoria. This has nothing to do with acting ability. It's just that I feel as far as physical aspects go, I figured Emmett would be buffer, Rosalie would be prettier, Laurent would be white, (I know, that sounds bad, but it wasn't meant to be. Again this refers to Meyer's bad writing for leaving that detail out of the book, throwing a lot of fans off) and Victoria would be more feral. (and have redder hair) But again, these are relatively new actors so I can't really say anything bad against their ability to play the part. They might just blow me away when I see it. The other characters, I have no problem with, but that's because I don't really care about their casting. I've only read the first book and characters like Jasper, Jacob, Carlisle, Esme, and the humans don't have as big a role as the aforementioned until later books. So, when the time comes to actually judge them, I will do so.[/SIZE]
