Okay... Battle Royale setting: (You know, the japanese novel, stuck on an island, exploding collars, etc.) All the mods are fair game!

No clue... I don't even know if there will be one in my area. But I want to go; I've always wanted to attend a convention. A-Kon is about the only one in my area that's a bearable distance to drive to, but that's already passed. So, I've got to do a bit of research... Or a lot of driving

He was even more shocked to find other passengers who were left behind. He couldn't imagine how the Von Braun manage to miss that many passengers. After all the formalities were out of the way, Jamie quickly began snapping photos left and right, trying not to miss a single aspect of the room. He managed to get Ilona and Natalia to pose for him while Alex quickly jotted down shorthand notes and took brief statements from Katelyn and the other passengers. "This is amazing isn't it?" The reporter buzzed excitedly, "What a story!" It was true. This sort of thing was exactly what the pair needed to skyrocket their success. Somehow, in less than 24 hours, they had managed to turn their interest series into a story of struggle and survival. But of course, it quickly changed into something altogether different when Jamie snapped his next photo: "Shit!" He cursed under his breath, not wanting to alarm the others. But what was most surprising, especially to Alex, was that the photographer actually dropped his camera. "Are you alright buddy?" he asked, but Jamie didn't move. He didn't even attempt to pick up the camera, which had separated from the large flash that was previously attached. Katelyn had followed Alex over and, after picking up Jamie's camera, was trying to press it into his arms. "I had the same problem trying to take it all in." "Mind tell me what she's talking about, King?" This time Letrad and Ilona had moved over to interfere in the conversation. Alex was equally confused. Jamie finally managed to come to his senses. He reattached the flash to the camera and carefully inspected his camera to make sure that it still worked properly. Then he put the strap around his neck to insure that he wouldn't drop it again. The entire time, the rest of the group was getting rather impatient waiting for his answer. "Look there." he said and snapped a quick photo. What it revealed were oddly humanoid women in a test tube. "What the hell is that?" Alex began examining the glass, trying to see if he could spot the beings within on his own. After some time, "Jamie, what are you doing? Keep taking pictures. This is our big story." After Katelyn and Natalia had managed to explain their discover of these people, (Species 167E) they practically left Jamie's jaw on the floor. Sure, he was familiar with the conspiracy articles that floated around out there, but he never actually believed it. He wondered that if he hadn't found it by mistake, if everyone else would have even told him. "Okay everyone, time to go" Victor led the way out of the room. It was time to move to those escape pods, and Jamie took the opportunity to take one last photo: He turned the timer on and took his place between Alex and Ilona. Devin Letrad and Katelyn were also standing in the photograph. "Are you coming?" Natalia had returned with her flashlight to make sure everything was okay. During their travel to the escape pods, Alex and Jamie discussed their options. "Why don't we just publish it?" Alex protested. "Because photos like this can be faked. There's probably millions of alien photos stacked away in the Herald's basement. "Well, maybe we can use it as blackmail to find out what exactly is going on." "First of all," Jamie began, "Blackmail is never a good idea. And second, in a place like the Von Braun, we have literally no control. Even if I made copies of the photos before we talked to the higher-ups, there's nowhere to hide them, short of swallowing it. They could just make up some story to throw us in the ship's holding station and then completely ransack our room until they found every copy I could possibly make." "But I can get interviews from the girl and that casino woman. We can interview Letrad and Ilona, and any of the other people who were in the room." Alex said, pointing to Natalia and Zahir "Don't be naive, Azure. Conspiracies stay conspiracies for a reason. NARISA would debunk our stories before we could blink. And then, not only would we be out of a job, but the only people who would hire us are the conspiracy magazines." "Well then Jamie," he began walking away in order to end the conversation, "I suggest you find a way to keep the copies hidden, because the way I see it, our only chance for a breakthrough is to talk to whoever knows what the hell is going on here." 'leave it to Alex to get the last word' Jamie thought. And then he began the long process of figuring out how to hide any copies that he would make.

So considering that Alex and Jamie are reporters, I figured that it would only be natural for them to snap a few pictures of the aliens... So. I'll make a post tonight, once I get settled at my hotel.

Alright, I was wondering if I could get a rather savvy graphics person to create me an avatar and banner... As far as what goes on it? I don't care! I don't want anime or anything specific, but I'm thinking something vintage. (tye-die, paisley, plaid, etc. designs with any sort of symbology that would tie the set together) You can make it a themed set if you'd like (Roarin' 20s, Woodstock, whatever works) If I get multiple entries, I would alternate between the sets if I liked them all. I only request that my avatar says "D" on it and the banner says "OB's original Darren" Some things to take into account (But not required at all) I like white, black, gray, gold or yellow (or shades of brown), shades of blue, red shades I am especially fond of peace signs And the cooler PS effects, the better! So, feel free to respond. I'm sure I'll love whatever is given to me. Thanks!

I have wanted to join the peace corps. ever since I had to debate about it a couple years ago. During my research of the organization, I found several negatives and several positives... Unfortunately I forgot most of them since that was two years ago. I do remember reading about what Lunox was saying. But hey, you should still give it a try. I plan on doing it once I graduate from college.

Dual Browning BDMs, to be exact. He may not believe in killing, but self-defense is fair enough reason to fight in his eyes. While the handguns are used with pinpoint accuracy from moderate distances, (to avoid killing) Kazimir uses his Butterfly Swords in close combat to disable his opponents. (The swords' blades are 11 1/2") Kazimir is also trained in several forms of martial arts. Edges: Respire: He simply concentrates, allowing his body to be filled with a warm sensation. Suspend: Although it's not required, Kazimire usually mutters the word 'stop,' to activate its affect. Radiate: Snaps his fingers. Impact: While holding the weapon he chooses to effect (or not, in the case of using his fist) he concentrates, endowing the weapon with extraordinary power and a brilliant golden sheen. (Kazimir only uses this edge in extreme circumstances, for fear of causing death) Ward: Holds up his hands. Champion: Kazimir closes his eyes and concentrates on the exact image he would like his opponents to see. Forsee: Not applicable. Kazimir is in constant use of this power. (Or at least that's how it seems) Any time an undesired result occurs, he goes back to the point of his decision (if was within the past 10 minutes) in order to alter his choice. (Even though this may seem like time travel, it is nothing of the kind. Think of Nicholas Cage in Next) Appearance: Despite what you would expect from a battle-worn Hunter, Kazimir is actually not a very threatening figure. Due to this Czech heritage, he bears very pale skin and kind, light blue eyes. His brown hair has been shaved bald and his face is never clean-shaven. Being an insomniac, Kazimir often looks sick or weak. (which isn't flattering on his already meager figure) He wears casual clothes and, other than the Kevlar vest, (which is concealed) you would never be able to tell that he was a Hunter. Kazimir always wears his trademark fur-lined hoodie (the hood is usually up) and dark sunglasses. Biography: Kazimir was born in America to two czech immigrants. Early on in life, he knew was an outcast, being the only member of his family who did not have blonde hair. His mother loved him very much, but his father favored Kazimir's older brother, Josef. Sibling rivalry was always about, but the two never let their father's old views truly tear their bonds. When Their mother died, Kazimir's father no longer had the time to take care of his kids. (He was recently promoted at his job and was never home) He paid for his sons to attend a military boarding school in California. Kazimir and Josef hated the idea of going, but they both learned a lot and trained their bodies in hand-to-hand combat. Shortly after Josef graduated from the academy, Kazimir's father passed away from an apparent heart-attack. Kazimir inherited half of his earnings and used the money to go to Europe. He began studying martial arts and weapon combat. Imbuing:Several years later, Josef tracked him down and tried to persuade him to come live with him. However, in a sick twist of fate, they were tracked down by a pack of werewolves. Kazimir was able to protect hisself with ease, (however, he had no clue what these monsters were) but his brother was not as lucky: he was bitten. The next morning, Josef had vanished without saying goodbye and it was now Kazimir's turn to track down his brother. It took quite some time, but when he finally discovered Josef's whereabouts, it was too late. He had already lost his mind in the bloodlust and turned his newly acquired fangs against Kazimir. He refused to kill his werewolf brother and tried continuously to negotiate with Josef. However, just when Kazimir believed he was verging on a breakthrough, a group of European Hunters showed up and put a silver bullet through his brother's heart.
Well I'm 14, bordering 15, but I still have a pretty good idea about life. It's long, and it's never, as a whole, fun. My life was pretty fun up until 7th grade, than the crap hit the fan. But behind all the sadness, lies happiness. And as long as you're still in tune with that, you'll be fine. Right now I still have to deal with my ex-girlfriend and my best friend . My ex flipped out cause she's number 3 on my Myspace top. And y best friend is mad at me cause supposedly, I'm gay and I should stop living people's lives and live my own. which is none of his business. But through it all, there's' still that happiness, a glimmer of hope in the eye of sorrow. So people who want to end their life should realize it's never hopeless.
Please. That's not life, Prem. It's Jr. High drama. Sure, drama continues throughout everyone's life, but it's up to you to decide how mature you want that drama to be and how you want to handle it, if at all. If that's your grasp on life, then I'll be the first to say that your idea is WAY wrong. Besides, I believe the question was centered more on the financial aspects of an adult and if someone could live comfortably rather than the drama aspect. But some advice for you: if she's your ex, she shouldn't even be on your Myspace top, haha, just kidding. But you shouldn't care that she cares, and if it's a big deal, then let her brood about it. As far as your best friend: If you're living other people's lives, then he gave you good advice. But I don't see how that relates to your sexual orientation... Or how suicide relates to this topic... But just so I stay on topic here, Lady Aura, that is not life. (At least not the general focus of life) And I'm sure that since you're going to be a freshman, you already knew that.
Plus for some that means you qualify for aid for college that not only do you not have to pay it back, but it pretty much covers all your expenses. I got a decent scholarship to college, but nothing that keeps me from paying off student loans until I'm 30. Truth is, when it comes to middle-class and college, life sucks unless you're a genius. But since that's besides the point, I'll just refer to Rach: (Again... He always gives the best advice, darn) It is what you make it. And again, you shouldn't worry about the future. Be aware of it, but for now, you should live in the "now." High school is only 4 years and they go by fast if you don't pay attention.
But I will say that the two definitely aren't mutually exclusive. I have known (and do know) people who have both traits. Several OBers can claim to have equal amounts of these traits as well. :catgirl:
Awww, thanks! J/K... But again, beauty is subjective like everyone has been saying. But to be honest, there are plenty of intelligent people out there. And when you compare it, there's more jobs out there for the simple-minded man than there are geniuses.... I know plenty of intelligent people who are unsuccessful just because the industry is so competitive. I don't think I would be able to deal with the stress. (after school, that is) On the other hand, I also know a lot of beautiful people who are very successful. Let's face it: If you're beautiful, you could just be a model and make a bunch of money. It's not that hard to walk even if you are incredibly stupid. (just spit out the gum before you hit the catwalk! :catgirl:) And since I'm going to assume, that being dumb doesn't include not knowing how to work modern technology, they could always be a telemarketer or something. If a dumb person had to work a mediocre job for minimum wage, I'm sure they wouldn't enjoy their cash that much. If a genius raked in millions annually, but never had anyone to share the joy with, I'm sure they wouldn't enjoy the loneliness. If I had to choose: I wouldn't. I would flip a coin and leave it up to chance...

For the hundreds of thousands of families out there who don't have much to live on and work several jobs just to support their family and keep a roof over their heads: Yes, life is horrible. But you for you: It sounds like you'll be fine. It's natural to worry about things like the future. I just graduated high school and am equally worried about starting college. I know once I graduate college, I'll be even more scared because I'll officially be in "it." High school and college are protective bubbles for the majority of people, so you're right to assume it will be different, but not necessarily bad. And, in my opinion, it makes you pretty mature to already be worried about the future... I didn't start getting worried until I attended graduation my junior year. And here's how I look at the friends issue: If they're your true friend, you won't lose touch. You can't know how close you are until you face the ultimate test. I had my best friend move away when I was a freshman. And until I could drive, I talked to him as much as possible on the phone. (And my parents took me to see him on school breaks or vice versa) Now that I can drive, I still make trips to hang out with him for a couple of days. And I'm not sure if it's true or not, but my family has always told me that you make the best friends in college... I'll get back to you on that one, but I think you'll be fine. Just have fun and don't be in too much hurry to grow up. P.S. The immaturity follows you everywhere.

So, for my 18th birthday last week, my parents decided to pay for me to go skydiving today!!! (They were actually hoping I would back out, haha) At first, I was scared to death... I didn't eat or drink anything all day and I was shaking so bad from the nerves on the drive up to the skydiving place... But once I jumped, it was so much fun! (after the initial shock of falling from 9500 ft., that is) But I had so much fun, I really want to go again. I'm trying to talk my uncle into it. And I know I'm going with my friend for her 18th birthday in August. I also plan on jumping in January for my cousin's 18th birthday... Maybe I'll get the courage to start jumping on my own some day. Anyway, I have a video that is supposed to uploaded to myspace sometime soon. I'll put a link on here once I get it. But now to the topic: Is anybody else an adrenaline junkie? If so, what do you do to get that rush? For example, when I was little, I used to love scary movies (or just getting scared in general) so I could get a rush. I know a lot of people who like boxing or martial arts tournaments because they say it has the same effect... So what about you? Any daredevils here on OB?

I can't really post most of my stories without going into major detail. And truth be told, I'm a little drunk and tired as I type this, but nearly all of my inside jokes with my close friends revolve around the "high times" Went to the zoo and imagined the gorillas were talking to me. I spent nearly an entire day narrating their actions. Dropped water many many many times! (Cuz I'm always the one who gets really bad and pukes) They still haven't learned to leave me alone when I'm sick. I dove into the shallow end of a lake off of a docked boat that wasn't mine or anyone I knew. It hurt when I hit the ground. Rolled down a hill because I wanted to go somewhere private (to puke, cuz I was really sick) but didn't want to walk away. Been stalked by a creepy guy named Kevin, thus developing the drunken code word for sexual predators: "SLICED PINEAPPLES!" Thrown peaches at random passer-by Walked in on someone having sex, but was too drunk to realize that I needed to leave, thus developing the drunken code word for awkwardness: "BLUEBERRY PANCAKES!" Puked once from smoking too much. meh, that's not even the good stuff.

Oh... I really like this landmark. Just got way more interesting!

Okay. I finally made a post. Sorry about the length. And just to clear up any possible confusion, I'm going to explain what I meant with my post: I meant for it to say that the voices that Natalia, Katelyn, Victor, and Zahir heard were actually the voices of Ilona, Devin, Jamie, and Alex. At that time, Samantha and the rest of the staff were still up in the control room. However, later the staff approached, forcing the second group to hide in the ventilation system. So there you have it. Group 1 has no clue group 2 is there, and group 2 doesn't even know who makes up group 1... I hope this is all okay. I can find some way to edit it if it's not. Again, I just wanted to cover for my lack of posting since the latest landmark. (Or at all, really)

Of course, Alex took it in stride, but every little bump and shutter had the photographer worried of a malfunction. It was strange because Jamie had never been scared of flying. Sure, it was a big difference flying in space and flying on a plane, but he hadn't recalled being that stressed out and nervous since his internship began back when he was in college. And actually being able to see the endless black of space was not helping. Alex just pat him on the shoulder before exiting the shuttle. And, just as he expected, the reporter went to work. He had produced a small notebook for shorthand recordings and had managed at least three interviews before Jamie had even managed to hobble out of the shuttle. No wonder the Von Braun chose to animate false images. He was sure there had never been a medical diagnosis for space sickness, but there's a first time for everything. Jamie and Alex had explored most of the basic rooms to the deep space outpost, not wanting to venture too far away from the staff. At first, it seemed like everything was normal, but then as some of the security officers began running around the station nervously, Alex picked up on the urgency of the matter with his keen sense. From that point on, he wanted to interview staff members only to see if they could give any insight. (To which they answered: "No Comment") After almost an hour of taking photos of the communications beacon, like his partner had insisted, Jamie wandered off. He knew that if Alex really needed his help, he would come and find him. Jamie knew that this outpost provided much more opportunity than a communications beacon. And even if his photography of the station didn't make the Herald, The serene beauty of such a structure carved into a stationary asteroid, would be enough to boost his personal portfolio to instant fame. He could easily sell the photos for thousands of dollars. Immediately, within his first minutes of searching, Jamie came across Miss L'Marcelle and a man whom she seemed to know. They were exploring the outpost just as the rest of the guests were, but Jamie thought he saw something in the way they moved. It seemed like they were sneaking. And of course, being the curious photojournalist that he was, Jamie followed without being noticed. He felt somewhat like a stalker of the lounge singer, but at this point, following her was second to Jamie's inquisitive nature. They turned down a long hallway and Jamie lost sight of them for a brief second. But suddenly, they reappeared, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. It seemed that some of the staff members were around the corner and the two were almost caught. Jamie decided that this was the best opportunity to introduce himself. "Hello, Miss, I see we meet again" he said in a low whisper after approaching the pair. Then turning to her friend, "Good morning. My name's Jamie King. I'm a photographer for the Washington Prime Herald." "Devin Letrad, nice to meet you." The man said, giving Jamie a firm handshake. "Alex Azure. Washington Prime Herald." The other reporter emerged out of seemingly nowhere, frightening all of the group. "Where in the hell did you come from?" Jamie asked, trying to be as quite as possible, given his state of shock. "I followed you," allowing a brief smirk before continuing, "don't forget, I can smell a story from a mile away. So Mr. Letrad, would you mind telling me what's around that corner?" "It seems to be the control room and several of the staff are trying to get into it. We're just trying to get a glimpse of the room to possibly get some hint of what's going on around here." Jamie figured that the deep space outpost's members all had access to the control room, which is why the control room was out in the open. After all, there wasn't a ship full of civilians. Just then they heard a loud crack followed by a sliding door. "They've unlocked the door." Ilona said, peering around the corner. Jamie pulled out his camera bag, and immediately began sifting through the man lenses he carried until he found the perfect one. It was lens that Alex had bought him for Christmas last year and was commonly used for spying. it was equipped with the ability to pivot 90 degrees in any direction. The photographer attached the lens and then twisted it in order to look around the corner. He then turned on the view finder and peered inside the room. "That's Samantha Wells and her bodyguard." Ilona pointed out, after Jamie showed her the view on screen. "And that's Christina Sijan, head of security." Ms. Sijan was browsing through a list of security checks and Jamie soon realized that the images displayed on screen were live feeds from the deep space outpost. The images were going by very quickly and he figured that Ms. Sijan was simply making sure the security cameras worked. But Jamie noticed a group of people on one of the views. The head of security seemed too occupied with all the system operations to notice, but there was a group of four people, pulling off the cover for an air vent. The gasps from the group meant they had seen it as well, and Alex immediately turned around, convinced he had found his story. It took the group several minutes to find the exact hallway the others were in, but Miss L'Marcelle kept them all entertained with her many stories. When they did find the vent, Alex took no time in deciding to climb into the ventilation hole. "What are you doing?" Jamie asked. "You didn't think we would come all this way just to turn around." Alex replied, peering back out from the dark hole. "I can feel it. Our story is in here somewhere." "I have to admit, the thought of an adventure does sound intriguing." Devin spoke aloud, almost to himself. "Well then it's settled." Alex said and disappeared into the darkness once again. "But wait," Ilona said, "What are we going to do about light?" "Jamie, give me your camera." he said, snatching the device from his hands. Alex put the cap back over the lens and held down the capture button. A series of quick, but brief flashes emerged. Whenever the camera was in complete darkness with nothing to focus on, it emitted such flashed in an attempt to find the object it was supposed to focus on. However, with the lens cap in place, no such object would be found, thus lighting their way. Devin Letrad was the next member to climb into the vent, leaving Ilona and Jamie standing in the dark hallway. She looked tired and barely ready for an adventure. But Jamie knew that he had to go. There was no way he would trust Alex with such expensive equipment. "Miss L'Marcelle, you don't have to go if you don't want to." he said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Perhaps you could put the cover back after I've entered?" he suggested, but couldn't wait for a response because they heard a group of fast-approaching voices. "That's Wells and Sijan. No turning back now." she said and lifted herself into the dark hole all on her own. Jamie was going to help, but she seemed to be able to take care of herself just fine. The group had been crawling for what seemed like forever when they found the opening. Jamie couldn't help but wonder who the other four passengers were. Just as the last of their group had set foot into the cargo bay, the door gave a loud snap like in the control room, and then it slid open. "Great, so we could have just waited and avoided this whole crawling around mess." Jamie said to himself. The group ducked behind a stack of the metal crates and Jamie, taking his camera back, began snapping away quick photos at the staff members, careful to make sure his flash was off. I was just trying to make up for my lack of posting since the deep space outpost landmark.

Well... 8th grade was about the year that there must have been some kind of public vote, nominating me as the kid that everyone made fun of. I avoided the drama as much as possible. (Mostly because I was shocked that my former best friends were in on the public humiliation) I won't go into details for the sake of everyone on the boards. But to add to the situation, an acquaintance, (one of those annoying people who give you bad vibes) would not let up. He would do things bad on purpose and see if he could get me and my other friends in trouble. He was one of those really manipulative people who thought it was fun to get under my skin. It's a bad time. Those years are filled with irrational thoughts and reasoning, raging hormones, and the development of a social hierarchy. It sucks.
Hillary Clinton lost. She should not go on until Denver. She should have exited earlier in this race, her loss is inevitable for the past few weeks. No one screwed her over. The media did not rally against her. Florida and Michigan were LEGALLY PUNISHED through the rules of the DNC a long, long time before it was some kind of antidemocratic "issue" like Clinton supporters paint it to be. Clinton herself, before breaking an unwritten agreement between herself, Edwards, and Obama not to campaign there, supported the punishment. Voters have chosen who they want to be the Democratic candidate for president. Clinton should NOT be vice president. She has done nothing to "earn" the slot by fighting fruitlessly and giving the Republicans ammunition against him. Obama has campaigned for change and the Clintons have little to do with change. If Clinton supporters are so naive and simpleminded that they will vote for John McCain in November, then they deserve the repercussions of their shortsightedness as McCain does four more years of Bush-esque policy. The Democrats will heal much better if Hillary Clinton takes some basic actions of support towards Obama instead of suggesting continually that the outcome can shift dramatically given several more months of her dragging it out.
Wow... Hostile. :animeswea Anyway, I wasn't even talking about the Florida and Michigan primaries. I whole-heartedly agree with the decision. (Plus, it would be entirely unfair to give Hillary's delegates a whole vote in a state where Obama wasn't even on the ticket) I was speaking about the media having a field day by saying she claimed Obama was going to be assassinated. I was saying that those words never left her mouth and that by all the hype that was made out if it, ignorant remarks have been made against her. But all I have to say is chillax. Not that it matters anyway; she dropped out.
Forgive my colorful language. Also, when you have an ego as inflated as mine, its difficult to do anything "ego-less". Now, as promised... At a friend's birthday party with two buddies.
See, that wasn't too hard, was it? I bet it only hurt a little. -
Are you oblivious to your own candidate? lol. She brought up RFK a couple of weeks ago to widespread question marks. Thank God this primary season is waning. Hopefully Obama does the right thing, denies her a V.P. slot, and marches straight on to November.
Apparently so. I heard about the reference, but only briefly, so I assumed it wasn't that big of a deal. And since she said nothing about Obama being assassinated, I just assumed it was the media having a field day by twisting her words. And I guess I was right. Anyway, If she doesn't stay in the race, I think it would be in Obama's best interest to take her as V.P. Think about it: For the past six months, these two have been breathing down each others necks. They have practically divided the party down the middle. (Even though Hillary claims she's winning in popular vote, statistics that were posted on CNN.com suggest that she only barely winning. Think of it 51% to 49%) That means half of the democratic party has been rallying for one of these two as their future president for six months... And with the way that both of them have been talking about the democratic party uniting when the final decision is made, it seems that the best way for Obama to do that would be to take Clinton as a V.P. But that's all speculation anyway. I still hope she stays in it.
