1. Not to worry, everyone. I'm still here... I'm just having a bit of trouble figuring out what to do with Charles... If anyone has any ideas to make him more involved, please do not hesitate to use him in a post... If I don't get some ideas after I catch up on my missed posts, I'm afraid my activity in this RP will shrink even more...:animecry: And even though, I know I can manage my time appropriately now, I still have a lot of stuff to do. And I'll be starting The Abyss sometime soon, and I know that a second RP will sap all of my time. (Moreso because it's my first time hosting) If anyone would like to joing that though, feel free. (It's a lot of fun, and I know that you sadists would love to make sexual, gritty, and evil posts that must be excluded from the victorian lifestyle) ... So, yeah, just giving eveyone an update. (Creativity running low :animedepr)
 2. I have been searching for some recruits, and I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that some of our new faces include... *drumroll* VICKY She said she'd give it a shot, so I'm assuming that's what she meant. I've also sent out some other PMs to people I know would be interesting to see play... But don't pin this all on me... I know it's my RP, but you guys are essentially the ones playing. You want new faces? Help me out, because I'm still relatively new at the OB and I haven't made as much friends as some of you others... Feel free to send out invitations as well. Sign-ups will be posted either Sunday or Monday so be expecting it. EDIT: I went ahead and poted the sign-ups early because I realized that I'll be a little too busy tomorrow and Monday. So go on over and sign up for the thing so it can get started. Here's a link:The Abyss (Sign-Ups0
 3. Oh yeah... I forgot. College got a longer break I suppose... It makes sense considering that a lot of my college friends are still in town and not in college. Duh... Okay, well like I said, I think I'll wait a week and go ahead and post the sign-ups. Perhaps, if the number of people is high enough, I won't need past winners. (although, that was my original intent, I'm not dead-set on it) I suppose I could just use prominent members from past installments. Anyway, Prem, I agree with you about the cards, but it did receive that name for a reason. And keep in mind that I had planned this one to release before the Ragnarok, but didn't make it in time... So I still want to stick to my original idea instead of reworking the entire thing. (You know story and all the special twists and whatnot) Also, Like I've said, I did create a system that is totally new to the game... It stays faithful the previous, but adds a new element. (Well actually two elements, if you consider one of the cards) However, I will take suggestions. After all, I did end up creating one of my new cards based on the opinion of a friend. (If anyone remembers Hells... He was really only here to play the death card game. And I'm pretty sure he'll be returning to play the Abyss. Don't worry though, no special treatment for him.)
 4. Okay... How about this? I'm thinking I'll wait a week before I post the sign-up. During this time, I will be sending PMs off to virtually every member I've always wanted to see in on the Death Card games... And then, depending on how many new and old faces, (Basically, I'm not opposed to either side) I may or may not create The Abyss... And if it helps people sign-up, I can always post my intro to the story. (Someone also mentions "Coming Attractions." I haven't checked to see if that's been started again, but I can alwasy check into it) But I have another question: I had a special treat planned out the previous winners. I can live without one or two of them to participate, but should I just wait until the winners can... Or perhaps approach the old faces of the death card series in order to make this work? My whole thinking behind this new twist with the winners was that it was a whole new game... Now that they had managed to survive as a participant, I upped the difficulty to see if they had the skill, cunning, and drive to do it again... (And even though I didn't want to reveal that much info, I'm really trying to at least get two of the past winners to play... Throw me a bone, please. :animedepr)
 5. Just trying to keep this alive here. I didn't want to forget about it and then let the thread get bumped to the second page and I accidently create a new one. But now that I've posted: What does everyone think? Christmas break is over... I know DB said wait until Spring break, but that just seems too far. I really have no objections, but I would like to have my go at hosting... I'm gitty with excitement, but I can alwasy wait a month... or... longer (Hopefully not)
 6. What is it? I'll stick with DB on this one and say The Panopticon: Underground Thread Why is it nifty? It really was groundbreaking in the sense that an RPG should never be that stressful.
(However, where Panopticon was causing stress because of continuity, the Ragnarok has succeeded in stressing me out because of frustration)
And it was always fun to make a simple comment, and watch everone self-destruct. Seriously, by the 50th post, you couldn't say anything without someone interpreting it a different way and pretty much reigning down all their fiery wrath upon you. And while I generally stayed out of the arguments that took place. (Mostly because I wast too busy trying to win the game. :animecry:) I agree with DB that the underground held a large audience and has set the base for newer backstage threads (as they're called now) to be bigger and better. What is it? Sandy's Art Why is it nifty? Duh. Because it's from Sandy and it's actually very good. Especially that piece he created for the Ragnarok. It took the "Draw My Character" thread to a whole new level seeing as we only described our characters instead of drawing our own version. Visionary! And while I'm on the topic... What is it? Death Card Series Why is it nifty? Because the death card series defines every aspect of niftiness. So far, it has accompanied four installments to the series and has played host to a variety of elemnts that OB RPGs had not seen previously. Not to mention, it's brought some noteriety to newer members with their participation. And it was cool enough to receive the name "The Death Card Series" Obviously, just by my number of nominations revolving around the series, you can tell how much I enjoy it. Probably too much, but eh. :smirk:
 7. Prostitution = a good thing You'll find me on the street corner wearing Rocky Horror-esque attire every weekend. It's a good way to bring in the money. :p But on a serious note, I feel bad for the guys that (or I guess girls too) that actually have to pay for sex... That's the true all-time low. They have to pay someone to have sex with them... And then they have to pay even more to make the sex interesting.
 8. This is probably a little late, but hey, I've been too busy with the start of school and all. Um, resolutions:....? I'm sure I made like two, but I made them when I was drunk. ... And then I passed out. So I pretty much forgot. I'm sure I'll still try to keep them, but it will be pretty hard to know when I break them. OH! Wait, one of them was I'll try not to pass out when I go drinking from now on. I don't like being the "laugh" of the party. And it's depressing when you sleep through all the merriment. Another one... *Wait I'll think of it in a bit*.... Anywho. I completely agree with DB! 2008 will kick ***! Wanna know how I know? It's very simple: I have exactly five months before graduation!!! Halfway through senior year, and I couldn't be more excited.
 9.
Darren, you & Sandy tie for the Pretty Award. My God.

I'd say Darren would beat me in hotness contest any day with that picture of his. ;D *has a soft spot for rocker boys*
Haha, thank you both!
 10.
No, it' just she doesn't know the name of the lead singer, Claudio Sanchez. I don't care about the shirt, she can go ahead and wear it if she likes the music or if she plain old likes the shirt. All I meant was that I'd be pissed because she got the singer's name wrong.
No, Prem, you missed what I was trying to say. She truly is an "individual" (if you really want to call it that) simply because she doesn't try to stand out from the crowd whenever she acts differently. The cool thing was that she absolutely knew the name of the lead singer. She just wasn't about to try and impress a complete stranger with her knowledge of Coheed and Cambria.
 11.
In using my images such as the AE Boards logo, without my consent you violate the copyright of Anime Explosion. You did not seek permission from the owner to use that image, the owner is naturally myself. Furthermore, your article borderlines on the grounds of defamation of character, and in a court of law you would be held liable for whoever the publisher of the article is. Last, but not least it is illegal to use an image or likeness of another person without first accertaining the permission to use it, whether your a non-profit orgranization or not.
Like Desbreko said earlier, tabloids do it all the time. I seriously doubt they go up to Celebrity A and ask: "Can we use this picture of you in bikini?" And then on the headline they write: "Celebrity A: Getting Too Fat?" I'm pretty sure that's the same gounds of defamation of character that you're talking about. Also, people like Perez Hilton have made a pretty good living off flaming celebrities. I'm sure there has been a court case every now and then, but seriously, an OB/AE battle (although, I seriously doubt it would ever in a million years come to that) would not even be seen in court. Also, as Nerdsy pointed out, only a few articles of Otakupedia have been about banned members. And like we've all been saying, it's for entertainment purposes only. Don't get so bent out of shape. Chillax. Don't feed the fire if you don't want to get flamed; just PM James and this thread would never have to progress any further. :animesigh
 12. Yeah... I see where you're coming from. (I would be a little mad too) Seeing as how I wasn't a member back when this happened, the article kinda came off as rude. However, I know that everything in Otakupedia (at least the "Negative" posts) are meant as a joke. Nothing offensive. Still, your best bet would be to PM James or Adam. Hopefully the could sort the whole thing out for you.
 13. Well, it seems this thread is still breathing and yet, the only two pictures I have offered were not my favorites (Just the ones I had on hand) What makes things worse... A lot of people are posting cosplay pictures. :animecry: I've never cosplayed before, so you can imagine my disappointment at not being able to participate. *LIGHTBULB* Oh wait! Halloween, is alwasy an excuse to dress up! (Although it's not like my favorite Anime Character, but whatever. It's still a costume) Halloween '06 Some special effects were added to make it look better when I uploaded it on Myspace, but it's 90% original... (If that counts)
 14. I don't strive to be different, but I just turn out that way sometimes. In many aspects of my personality, I guess you could say I qualify as "Mainstream," and that doesn't bother me at all. What I don't like is when other people get into arguments about who's posing because they liked [it] first, blah blah blah. For example: there's this girl I know who I would definitely say is the most original (not individual) person I know. And she's not trying to be that way. The main trend at my school is either Cowboy (obviously from a country-type school) or else vintage. Before that trend even started, she was wearing vintage. (Like back in 5th grad) And I'm not talking, Brand new/$20 shirt vintage clothing you buy from Hot Topic... Legitimate Vintage hand-me-downs, or thrift store jewels... (And she's not poor either, it's just her style. She doesn't call eveyone else posers, and she doesn't brag about how her style is way more original than everyone else's, although she's complimented on it all the time) She has the strangest instrest in music, ranging from folk, to experiemental, to techno, to hard rock, etc. However, she doesn't try to push the different styles of on others, and she doesn't try to show others how well-versed she is in a certain type of music. I remember one day when she wore a Coheed and Cambria shirt to school, and this really metal looking chick approached and asked her all these questions about the band: Metal girl:"What's the lead singer's name?" My friend: "Uhhhh..... Bon Jovi?" In most cases, all styles of individualism become mainstream. Why start arguments about who was wearing their emo style hair cut first, or who liked SpongeBob SquarePants first... And these are the thing we argue about as young adults. I can't wait to graduate :animesigh Eveyone will always have some form of individualism to them, so in a sense, even individualism is mainstream. Don't let anyone fool you into thinking they're an individual. Those are usually the "Products."
 15.
Like the movie in question, honestly, it's a bit absurd in my opinion that people object to it. I have always been of the opinion that an unwillingness to submit one's beliefs to rigorous scrutiny is a manifestation of weakness of faith on your part. In other words if you are so frightened of an opinion or belief that is different, then that's your problem. Attempting to Censor others who see things differently isn't going to solve that problem and doing so is nothing more than a poor attempt to shove your own insecurities onto others. It also shows a distinct lack of faith or respect for your kids since I also believe that once you do your best to educate them... it's their right to choose whether or not they keep said beliefs. So attempting to get rid of something that is fictional and not even a true story because it "might" influence them just seems laughable to me.
I totally agree. And I think that's exactly why the whole scenario is so laughable. Censoring something because it goes against Christian theology. Seems a bit hipocritical to me. There wouldn't be a problem if they showed some evil witch or wizard (But they have to be evil or else it's wrong) die. However, there are some real Wiccans out there, (Although the representation of a witch in movies is way different than reality) who would find that offensive. I don't see them running around, protesting the movie or aiming for a ban. The Author's athiest,
"God" dies in the third book,
however all the connections to religion have been cut out, (Besides the obvious references to the "Magisterium" aka: the church) so I don't see the big deal. The catholic church says that if a child sees the movie and likes it, they might want to read the books. However, if the child likes the movie. (which I highly doubt, because the movie was pretty much crap) the parents should be happy that they're picking up a book in today's age. And even if the child reads the entire series without losing interest, (because keep in mind, the really heretical stuff doesn't even occur until late in the second book. And it isn't even clarified until late in the third) they probably wouldn't understand it. (I've read the series twice, and I still don't understand every aspect Pullman was trying to relate) Summary: Censorship to movies based on religious texts is WRONG. This isn't the dark ages. We are allowed to think and worship (Or not worship) however we want. However Censorship based on actual content should is necessary. Hence, the rating system. (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17, X) You know, instead of aiming for a ban, maybe the church should have aimed for a different rating of the movie.
 16. Well, seeing as how I'm the baby in the family and my parents actually care what I do, (Unlike my brother, who was always out all night and drinking and partying) I'm sneaking out to attend a party... Well, okay, I'm not exactly sneaking out because I've asked permission. I'm driving to Tulsa (about 1 1/2 hours away) to spend a few days with a frind of mine. And from his house, I'll be sneaking out... Okay, so again, it's not really sneaking out since his parents don't care as long as we don't drive and they know where we're at. But if I don't tell them where we're at... Then it will qualify as sorta sneaking out to attend a party.
 17. Well, I'll have to say: Best Christmas Ever!!! I got a brand new car! (Never before driven, so amazing! And I got it several weeks before Christmas) It was sort of Christmas/Graduation, but that's totally okay. And because of the massive amounts of $ that my parents spent on me, it's no wonder why I didn't really get anything else come Christmas morining. I got a cheap wallet and a cheap watch. (Which I was actually extremely grateful for, because I had been running around complaining that my old wallet was tearing up and complaining that my phone messed up and doesn't show time anymore. At least it means that my dad pays attention) Also, my brother got me a Heroes Season 1, Collector's Edition Box Set! I am super excited about that. Plus, he accidentally left Weeds, Season 1 here when he left for North Carolina. (So I'm stealing it from him and calling it a present as well) My friend got me "The Italian Job" (One of my favorite movies) And another friend got me some new eyebrow rings (Since I've lost all of my old ones) I also got some money from the family, but not very much. Other than that, I'm still waiting on presents from some of my other friends, which I plan on receiving when school gets back in. (And if I don't, I swear I'll... j/k) But seriously, it was a great year.
 18. Note to self: Sleep Deprivation = Bad I tried my best to stay awake while I posted that last one. I've been so busy I haven't had time, so I decided it was now or never. Unfortunately, the small naps I took in-between paragraphs will probably be responsible for a lot of confusion. So, if there's any problems with post (such as moving it to night time/post-dinner already. Or introducing Jack in a way not agreeable with Malkav) just let me know and I would be glad to edit it when I'm more awake. Sorry again.
 19.
The sun had set almost two hours previous when Charles and his children finally touched down in High Czenoble aboard a second-class Airship. Pearl had fallen asleep in the short time between take-off and landing while Bertram was on the verge of doing the same. The groggy trio lazily made their way through the quiet city streets, no longer afraid of mobs or explosions. What Charles was most afraid of was the news that awaited him concerning Leonhart and Macey. After waiting in a line half the day, (with tireless adolescent children, nonetheless) it was obvious that he hadn't received any news at all. Pearl, too tired to continue walking, prompted her father to carry her. He knew how she must feel and Charles cursed himself for allowing the three of them to get into such a terrifying and dangerous situation. If he had been as unfortunate as Fauntleroy to have lost either one of the kids, no doubt he would lose his mind with worry. As they turned the next corner, the front gates to Rosengard finally appeared, and Bertram began walking much quicker than he had been. A nice warm bed for the kids; A terrible conversation with his mother in-law for Charles. Just as they opened the front gates, Dame Anna appeared in the front doorway for a brief second, then disappeared quickly into the darkness of a sleeping Rosengard. "Just how late are we?" Charles thought. Then, Anna reappeared with Beatriste at her side. The two quickened their pace to meet Charles halfway. Dame Anna took Bertram's hand, and Beatriste embraced Pearl in a maternal hug, without waking her, before handing her over to Anna to put them in bed. "Fauntleroy informed me that you would arrive late." She said in an exhausted tone. Charles could tell she had been crying. "Damn airships. I would have been here earlier had it not been for the overwhelming number of people. I kept getting bumped back in line because no one seemed to be flying to High Czenoble. As if we weren't getting enough glares at it was..." "I can only imagine, darling." She said. There was a slight pause and Charles knew that his fear of bad news was about to become a reality. "I'm afraid I have some bad news." "It's not Macey or Leonhart, is it?" Charles asked desperately, but of course he already knew the answer. "Macey's fine dear. She arrived shortly after the explosion. However, Leonhart..." Her silence was enough. Charles pulled her close to comfort her and she broke into tears. There was no telling how many times she'd already cried over her father. "He's gone. They... Can't... Find 'im. Daedalus-- He thinks father's dead!" She said through loud sobs. "You mean they haven't found a body?" Beatriste sniffled a little and wiped away the tears at her eyes. "No. They're still working to clear the rubble, but there hasn't been a body uncovered." "Well then there's still hope!" Charles replied, highly enthused at this new twist in the story. However it seemed that Beatriste had already made up her mind. She simply stared at him with red, irritated eyes. Just before she spoke, two figures emerged at the front gates. "Beatriste!" Jack shouted, receiving equally harsh looks from the both of them at his volume. Charles noted the lack of acknowledgement from him. Then Meredyne, Charles' former Fiancé, walked into the moonlight. She didn't even bother to look at him. Needless to say, the break-up didn't go so well. "Leave it to you, Jonathon, to wake up the entire neighborhood in the middle of the night," Dame Anna scolded as she exited Rosengard once again to address the constant disturbances. "Please forgive him, Dame Anna," Meredyne spoke in her seductive, silky voice. It was feminine, yet forceful. Meredyne alwasy had her way. At least until Charles came along. "I tried to warn him of waking everyone, but he wouldn't have a part in it. I hope we didn't disturb Rosengard too much." When Charles turned back to the estate, he saw that only a few lights were on so most of them had slept through the annoying noise. "Dame Anna, Beatriste, Charles, I'm sure you all remember Meredyne Artemis." Jack siezed control of the covnersation again. "It's been some time since she's visited Rosengard. How long was it?" "Ten years," Charles and Meredyne both answered simultaneously and their eyes met. She broke away first, but Charles knew that it was only because her eyes would not allow him to look away. He stood frozen and embarrassed for several seconds before bowing his head to hide his painfully red face. "Yes, ten years," Jonathan continued, obviously delighted at the confrontation, "And we were both hoping to have a look around the castle before bed." "Delighted to have you here again Miss Artemis," Dame Anna spoke as politely as her voice would allow it. "However, I'm afraid that everyone's gone to bed for the night and I can't you to wander at the risk of waking them. Not with everything that's happened tonight." "What do you mean? Has something gone wrong?" Meredyne's expression changed only slightly to indicate her worry. Of course, Charles knew that was hardly what was on her mind. "Oh, that's right. I've forgotten to inform Meredyne." Jack said again, laughing loudly before bing hushed by Lady Grimalkin and Beatriste. "Better not do it out here. It's getting late and cold," Beastrist said just before Jack rudely blurted out the bad news, "Let's all go in and have a cup of tea. Anna?" "Right away Beatriste. I'll have the tea ready in a few minutes. Make youselves comfortable by the fireplace." She said, ushering the group through the front doors. "Great," Charles thought, "24 hours in Czenovia and I'm already having tea with Jack and Meredyne. I really do have rotten luck."
20. Wow, I like the prize! Very neat Sandy... And even though I left first, i would just like to say that I still had fun with this RP. (Regardless of how frustrating it was) Also, I hate Shy and Indifference for killing both of my characters off first, one after the other. :p
 21. "But Dad, do we really have to go now?" Bertram whined. He seemed to do that alot. A quality that developed while Charles was away. He, Bertram, and Pearl had been navigating the city all day. It started with an early breakfast, followed by a trip to the Chimaera Circuit, lunch at the park, a brief visit to the zoo, and now they were heading out once again. Both Pearl and Bertram were holding one of Charles' hands. "We went to the Chimaera Circuit for you, and now Pearly wants to go see Great-aunt Macey at work at Prometheo Labs. It's only fair--" "But Macey enjoyed the races, too! Why should we have to go all the way across town for something she won't even like in a week?" "I will so like it in a week." Pearl piped up. He was shocked at her bravado, since Pearl was a very quiet and polite, only speaking out when something really irritated her. Charles squeezed both of his children's hands slightly, signaling their silence. "Bertram, if you behave yourself, perhaps we can convince Aunt Macey to take us on one of her airships." Charles felt bad for the statement, because he doubted that Macey would actually have enough time to visit with the kids. At most, he figured she would get one of the staff members to give them a tour. Nonetheless, Bertram immediately straitened up. He apologized to Pearl and tried to act like he still didn't want to go. "But Daddy," Pearl said, pointing to the rooftops of a buildings surrounding an alley-way, "I just saw Great-aunt Macey's air ship fly away only a little while ago." "Are you sure it was hers, Pearl?" "Yes, it was the same one that she took us on before. And it looked like it was headed back to Rosengard." It was strange that Macey-Ellen would be outside the work place at this time. Even though she had probably been exhausted from the night before, everyone in all of New Czenoble knew that Macey was a workaholic. Something was wrong, and as if to clarify that thought: "What's that noise?" Bertram said aloud, drawing his father's attention away from the sky. "Is that smoke?" Sure enough, smoke was billowing around the corner onto the street the family was walking on. Suddenly, as steam care desperately trying to escape the hectic main street of Prometheo sped around the corner, driving halfway on the sidewalk. Charles pulled his kids to the wall as the driver glanced over his shoulder. He put Pearl on his back, her little arms were clamped tightly around his neck, and he let Bertram follow closely behind him with their hands clasped together. As Charles inched around the corner, he finally saw what had happened. There seemed to be an explosion of some sort. The thick smoke obscured his vision, but what he could make out was hectic. A section of Prometheo Laboratories seemed to fallen in, but Charles couldn't tell if the event occurred inside or out of the building. It may have not even been an explosion. "Daddy, I'm scared." Pearl said, burying her head into his shoulder to hide her eyes. Steam cars were backed up into the street, as everyone attempted to escape the scene. A few even abandoned their vehicles to escape on foot, increasing the trafic jam. RPGs were running around, just as confused as everyone else, trying to direct everyone to safety. Charles hoped that Leonhart and Macey were alright, but his children were first priority and right now, it seemed that Prometheo Laboratories was not a good place to stay."
 22. Just wanted to inform everyone that I'm not dead... I'll have my post up tomorrow... I have a pretty good idea, so I hope Shy and Sandy can wait a bit longer before posting the next part of the story... EDIT: Okay, done. Sorry about the short length. I ran into a snag halfway through the post. If anybody wants to interact with Charles, feel free to do so, because my creativity is at an all-time low right now. It took me a few days just to come up with that post... *Sigh* EDIT #2: Officially confused... I sent a message to Sandy asking if the riot and the explosion were at the same location... He said no, so Shy, could you clarify this with me? I thought the riot was at Magitch factories and the explosion was at Prometheo Labs... It wouldn't really make sense to be running experiments in a factory, so I just assumed... :p I'll edit my post accordingly as soon as I receive a response.
 23. I know what all of you are getting at... And yes, I also thought that it was too soon to start another series the day after the last one closed. DeM already did that with the Panopticon, and while I was refreshed after being eliminated from the Maze early on, I had the feeling that some of the players were mad at the short break. Anyway, now to answer some questions:
What will make your Death Card RPG different than The Ragnarok? Also: Since you said that your attempt was to tie the first three games together somehow; would this new game still be any fun for those of us who did not participate in the originals? -Shy
Well now, Shy, I don't know whether to interpret the size 6 font as enthusiasm or anger... :p However, In addition to returning to the original style of the Labyrinth (Which means NO POINTS) I have a few handy dandy cards that have never been introduced before. They're very clever, and one of them is a major component to the game and how I conclude it. (The card is also foreshadowed in the intro to the game, which will be posted when I come up with a definite date) Other than that, I can't tell you how exactly it will be different... It's a surprise, but I'll tell you that while remaining true to the original 3, (and adding in elements from The Ragnarok) I've come up with a system that it totally original and never been used before. And no, you won't be left out if you haven't played the other death card games. The only ones who require knowledge is the past winners. (Which they already have the knowledge since they won, duh) I've set up my chapter system to explain everything as the story progresses, just like a real story, and when everything is tied in, I hope that everyone will be pleased with the result.
I see a couple of major obstacles at the moment here. The first being I have finals this week, which means I'll be pretty busy starting tomorrow afternoon. The second, I have three weeks off starting next Saturday. This break comes after being extremely busy because once I take my last tests, I get my masters in music. Finally! Anyway... but still, the point is, I'm burned out and in serious need of a rest. So until school starts again on January 7th. I have no intention of joining any rpg's no matter what they are. I'm only going to post in the ones' I'm already in. And finally, if you have some notion of using points... I won't do something like the Ragnarok again. Unless it's been majorly re-vamped to be a hell of a lot less annoying. That was fun at first, but towards the end, it was tedious as hell and very, very frustrating. XP So if you really want those of us who won in the next one, for me, that won't happen unless you start it next year. After classes have started on the 7th of January. Yes I'll be busy with school yet again, but I will feel more up to it since I will have gotten that much needed break in.
Same here... Personally, I wasn't too partial to starting it this soon anyway. (And I kind of knew that people weren't going to be ready, so I didn't feel like an idiot for making the statement) I will very much agree with your idea to start it after New Year's, since I am also enrolled in some college classes this semester, and I also have finals this week. (Which I should be working on right now, but...)
Oi, Darren my man. Let's let things chill for a while, eh? Give the people a chance to breathe and all. I know you're itchin' to try your hand at this thing, but I know some of the players are on Death Card Overload right now, and some are a little frustrated. I mean, sports and school all have built in vacation schedules for the same reason: to give their people a chance to breathe and say "Oh, thank God I'm done for a while." I'd also think about trying to pull in some fresher faces. I notice several players recurring throughout the history of this game, and I think after a while it gets kind of boring playing against the same old opponents over and over again. Nothing against the veterans, just that it's nice to have a new mind to figure out, a new creative muse to adapt to. I am interested in playing. Just not yet. :D
I completely agree. The only problem is getting those people to sign up... I've told some of my closer friends on OB about it and they said they'll try to sign up, but there's no guarentees. I know that if a lot of the "stars" of OB sign up, then more of the "fresher faces" will see that and say, "Hey, there's some big names in this RP, sounds cool." But I can only hope. Beyond that, I have no clue how to recruit. Keep in mind this is really my first RP I've hosted. (Well besides that one that didn't quite work out a long time ago *cough*) What do you think?
It's really simple and can be described in just two words, well other than what Rach said about the point system; if you followed along in the backstage thread of the Ragnarok then you already know how I feel about it. Anyway... the two words I have for you in regards to this... Too Soon Also... Ignore Allamorph *pokes and shoves Allamorph* :p
'Nuff said... I agree completely. I'm still a novice here. A lot of what I do is directly influenced by what everyone else says. However, considering the 4 comments I've already received, I'm prepared to say that The Abyss will not start until at least the new year... Now the question is: How early in the new year is ready enough?
 24. Just to get my foot in the door way early, so that someone else doesn't steal my thunder... *glares at Sandy* I would just like to post up this thread again, reminding everyone of the creation of The Abyss, the 5th (What would have been the 4th) installment to the Death Card Series created by Sandy. Once again, this thread has merely been created to let everyone know that I'm interested in creating it and that I have the time to manage the entire thing. So, I already know some of the players, but now my question is when to start this thing... I feel that there should definately be some time in between all of it, but perhaps since The Abyss will be returning to the originality of The Labyrinth and its predecessors, there doesn't need to be as long of a wait. You guys let me know. If I get enough interest, I would create the thing tomorrow, but the only stipulation is that at least two of the four previous winners participate. (I know that last time I was anxious to have all 3, but now It doesn't matter. 3 would be good, 4 would be great, but it doesn't matter) Let me know before this gets side-stepped. :p The Labyrinth created by: Sandy Winner: SunfallE The Maze created by: Rachmaninoff Winner: Indifference The Panopticon created by: Deus ex Machina Winner: BKStyles Alternate Time Line The Ragnarok created by: Sandy Winner: Rachmaninoff I decided that The Ragnarok was a bit too different from the previous 3 so I made it a sperate time line altogether. (Simply because The Abyss is going to attempt to tie the first three in) However, that doesn't meant that I wouldn't allow Rachmaninoff the option to participate in the special twist I have planned for previous winners. It would just be a little different for him. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. Or just post them here.
 25. I know it took me forever to finally get around to posting. Almost 48 hours after I promised to post... It's not that I've been busy, but after I typed out that one post and I lost it, I've just not had the energy to try again. But not to worry, Charles has arrived and is now free to interact with as anyone pleases. And I figured that it was very much in Charles's character anyway to arrive late, so it's all okay there.
