Journal of Darren File August 13th, 2007 So I could be in L.A. right now, checking out the campus, basking in the sunlight, checking out the tourist attractions *wink* and even some of the tourists. Unfortunately, Mom canceled our vacation. I don't really blame her; with all the stuff we're seeing on the news, it makes the thought of going out of our way (22 hours to be precise) to drive to a place that is in pretty bad condition. We probably wouldn't get to do anything. She said that after senior year I could go and check out the campus and see if that's what I really want to do. I suspect the rioting will be gone by then, or at least they'll be a lot smaller. So instead of going to to L.A. for four days, we're just waiting until Wednesday to travel out to San Diego for Michael's graduation. He sent us a letter again. Mostly he just talked about how excited he was to graduated, but then he sent me personal letter that talked about the recruiting team just after him. He said that right after he left Pendleton, the guys right behind him experienced a little action for themselves and it didn't turn out too good. They had a run-in with the rioters. My question is what in the hell were they doing way out there to beging with and what in the hell were they rioting? Apparently I'm not the only one asking that, but Michael said that a bunch of scared recruits with rifles is not a good combo without the proper training, and hell, most of them were just starting on their marksmenship training! He said that there were a lot of casualties; mostly rioters, but there were a few soldiers that died. He begged me not to tell Mom or Dad because they would worry and wouldn't want to see him graduate. I'm tempted to tell htem anyway because I'm worried myself. I do know that as soon as we get to San Diego, we'll attend the graduation, and then leave ASAP with Michael coming back for 10 days. It really sucks that he has to go back into this mess. Anyway, school is only a few weeks away. I've talked to Ryan and Jesse and all of my co-workers and they are equally confused and freaked about everything, but most of them don't see anything major happening; I'm still unsure. A few of the crazy bible-thumpers are thinking it's the end of the world, but hell, they could be right for once. I guess I'll just have to sit it out. Oklahoma seems to be untouched at this point. It mostly seems to be on the east and west coasts, so I hope it stays that way. If whatever the hell this thing is (food poisoning, rabies) comes closer to Central U.S., I'll only be able to run north or south. On the subject of school: I'm really really not looking forward to it even though I'll be a senior. It's never really appealed to me, except for the part where I leave this town behind. I've had enough drama to last me a lifetime, and I don't want to hear any more about Ashley and Quinton's supposed screw-session. How many times do I have to tell everybody that I don't care and that it's nobody's business except theirs. That's one of the reasons why I like summer. I don't have to deal with people and all of their bullshit. Besides, I know that everyone's going to be asking me one question: "How's your brother doing?" "Oh, my summer was great, thanks for asking. Asshole." That's right, Michael's little brother; nothing more or less. And it's even worse that Roland is so freaking small! If it were a big school like Ft. Smith, I could deal with it, but jeez, am I that big of a loser? Nevermind. I know the answer to that. I haven't worked with Victoria in ages. I'm starting to wonder if she requested not to be put on the schedule with me anymore. I guess I'm too scared to ask since I'm afraid of what the answer might be. Instead I have to work with... IT I swear, one day, I'm just going to stick her head in the toaster, toast the hell out of her brain. (If she even has one) The girl does not shut up for five seconds, she never knows what she's doing but alwasy tries to act like the boss, (if I have the key, it means I'm the shift manager and I'm in charge!) and she's alwasy craving attention from everyone. Even the customers... She'll flash her fancy (probably 50 cents worth and she's too dumb to notice) promise ring at them and start on some stupid story about how her and her boyfriend met. The whole time, I'm thinking "You idiot! They don't care if he couldn't decide between the the white or yellow gold! Just shut UP!" Ah, I got to go blow some steam; I'm gonna go driving around for a bit. Plus this entry is kind of long. So long.

A Flock of Dodos: The Evolution and Intelligent Design Circus
Darren replied to Starwind's topic in General Discussion
I'll first point off: I don't believe in God, but I don't have a biased opinion (I don't think) Anywho, I like that show on the Discovery channel where they apply aspects from the bible and prove it with science... It amuses me. And not because I believe that it's proving the biblee wrong, but because I think it's taking aspecs of what others saw (and believed as an act of God) and giving it a rational explination. The bible wasn't written by God; just normal people who could have easily seen something and interpreted it the wrong way and then attributed it to God when they wrote a book... On the christian aspect of things: I believe someone said it earlier, but just because an anomaly is explained through science doesn't prove that it isn't an act of god. After all, if you're a christian, then believing God made everyone as they are shows that god is actually the founder of all science as we know it. So really a scientific anomaly could actually be a sign of God. In the sense of Evolution and the other thing, (my school calls it creation) I prefer to learn the evolution aspect, simply because it's scientifically explained. (even if it is commonly debated as the science part being guess-work, and I believe that a large portion of it is) Truth is, no one knows for certain what happened at the beginning of time (If you're a christian, then the only one who know for certain is God and all the angels/demons, etc.) and so, essentially, to teach the unsure on both aspects, christian and scientific alike, seems pointless. But since it's a requirement, I think both should be taught. Just like students have the right to say, "One nation under God" or students have the right to bring their bible to school or pray during the moment of silence, (I don't know if all of the U.S. has that, but Oklahoma has a moment of silence every morning) they should have that choice when it comes to creation vs. evolution. In any case, with all the laws that have been passed about forcing children to hear the theory of creation, it has rendered teachers unable to teach the christian version of that. And I know several biology teachers, who are such passionate christians, who refuse to teach evolution so we skip it entirely and go to Taxonomy and that stuff. Last year was probably the first (ever in my school days) actually learned about evolution. I was surprised, but really, I found it to be just as bogus as the christian aspect. It's mostly theoretical and guesswork, so it's not anything that I didn't already know. It's not a big deal, but I say let the students choose! If you have a big enough school, maybe you could have one teacher teach evolution, and the other creation. Besides, I've noticed that you never see too many evolution questions on standardized tests because of all the hubbub... Just ignore it Starwind... Don't get mad... Seriously, there's nothing you could ever do to the populations mind at large. (unless you were the antichrist, which would be a contradiction) And in the end, it's best not to condescend and let people believe what they choose to believe. -
Hah, well lucky me. The DMV is a 25 minute drive from my town. And even then, it's so small and rarely used, it's just a small office with maybe one or two people there. When I went to get my liscense, the guy actually had to push all the other people out of the building while we went to take the test. I'm sure it was annoying to the other people, but since I had an appointment, it was okay... I don't know if you normally require an appointment, but my DMV is so small, that's how they do it in order to keep everything organized.

Victoria was there. Things have been awkward between us since that night. I haven't been working a lot because I've called in sick or requested off. I probably shouldn't do that since I'm one of the few closers left after that wave of people quitting and getting fired. I've got a ton of things to do in Fort Smith tomorrow, most of which are doctor related. You'd think that having a car would give me more freedom, but it hasn't. On every one of my days off, I've had constant errands to run for Mom and Dad. When I do ask permission to acutually do something, it turns into 20 questions, and whenever I try to answer them, they think I'm getting attitude and most usually I end up not going. I can't help it if they annoy me. We got another letter from Michael today. He said he won't be able to write for nearly two weeks since they're starting field week. He also said that he got expert on his marksmenship and that he's gained 10 pounds. No question that all that weight is in muscle. I wish I could gain some weight. Any kind of weight would suit me. Dad said that I'll probably end up like Uncle Kenny and the man is like 47 and probably weighs less than me. I hope not Anyway, I've been watching the news lately and there seems to be some fishy stuff going on over in California, particularly Los Angeles... I really hope it dies down before our trip out there in August to see Michael graduate. I asked Michael if he'd heard anything about it, but he said that he's been too wrapped up in traineing and that since he's been a Pendleton, he hasn't heard much news at all. And normally I wouldn't mind since it's about a two hours distance between the two cities, but Mom and Dad are taking me to L.A. for four days so we can check out what the city is like, since I'm planning on going to UCLA. If they get a bad impression, I'll never hear the end of Mom's crying when I leave for college. She'll probably give me pepper spray as a graduation present or something. Well I guess I'll make this entry short since I have so much crap to do tomorrow. Until then, D! P.S. You might want to put a reference on that tidbit from the Zombie Survival Guide so that people know it's not your original work. Otherwise, it seems like it's been plagiarised. Not that the RP will ever be big enough for it to be a big deal, but just thought I'd say something.

Very neat post, DB... 'Tis very interesting. Anywho, I just thought you should know that you should probably fix Dante's name in your post. When you're talking about Chloe and Dante being able to learn things at an unreal rate, you call Dante, "Damien." Understandable, since Hells had Damien in The Panopticon... Also, I wasn't really intending for Chloe to learn abilities that fast. Especially not as fast as Hells wrote up her flying in his post... But I was only doing that because I didn't want to mod the thing. Since you said it first though, that gives Chloe the incentive to practice on her training in Shiana's class. Oh yeah! And what's up with Joe's name changing? I thought it was Deadrien... Now it's Haughm? (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) Okay the, I'm out; have to go to work.
As someone with an extreme case of OCD I have this to say: you're weird XD Damn it man, ignore the stupid time thing. A lot of people want to strangle you right now >_> This is an RPG about maniacally strange occurances - if you don't like it when things suddenly change, you may be in for some discomfort...
No no, don't misunderstand. Changes in the story of the RP is perfectly fine. In fact, I created Chloe with such an odd personality to conflict with my own... She's completely messy, yes... But when you mess witht he mechanics of the RP, I can't handle it... Now, if you were to say for everyone to go back and change their posts and to not include the time signatures at the beginning of their posts, I wouldn't mind a little time skipping every now and then... But in my head, it feels like a rule, and I don't want to disturb the internal rules... They scare me. And I don't think I would mind so much if others did it, but I'll be damned if I ever do it or am the cause of it. Hence my asking permission to jump 5 hours ahead. I wasn't going to do it unless I got everyone's okay, particularly Fyxe's because I didn't want to have to be at midnight and then jump back... *sigh* s'all good now anyway. I posted, and I'm rather entertained with how Chloe looks in my brain as Jake drops her. I'm also entertained witht the image of Dante falling right passed her... It amuses me... TO HELLS: *pokes* :p Go make your post. Just make sure that you don't talk about Chloe a lot... I want it to be sort of understood that she went back to her room alone without conversation... She's a little PO'd at the moment. hehe, I prolly shouldn't be so cruel to my character.
Definitely going to have to disagree there. I think the movie should be seen as extensions of the book, not replacements or equals. Alone, the movies aren't amazing or anything, they mostly play off the popularity of the book series. I think the content of the movie was great, just the storytelling wasn't. The choppy/sudden transitions between entire scenes were just disorienting to me... I guess some of the emotional moments really touched me, though, and I don't think the movie was a failure.
Eh, like I said... I'm just easily entertained, but I definately feel that the movies should be viewed as replacement, (for lack of a better word) not extensions... Because that's like you're always asking for more and it shocks me that you're so leniant with books-to-movies if you want to view them as extensions... That alwasy leads to dissapointment... And I know plenty of people who don't read the books who like the series, and last I heard, the movies are doing pretty well. Maybe the people are only seeing the movie just because of the hype or perhaps it's because of the good ol' advertisements. (I do admint, the previews make movies look soooo good) But I think Harry Potter would be successful regardless of the books... It's hard to imagine, but I think it's possible.
As for the Cho thing, I was "huh?" but in the end didn't care. I think Cho will play a minor role in the 7th book, if not insignificant.
Hey, if we're lucky, she might die... I never liked Cho that much... I'm still itching to find out who the two characters are... :animecry: it will be so sad! By the way, I didn't think the movie was all that choppy... I enjoyed all the transitions and thought it was perfectly acceptable... Although, nothing compares to an IMAX experience and the run-down theatre I was watching it in wasn't helping my eyes with they did the panoramic effect on the opening scene, among others. I thougth I was going to get a headache. But other than that (which would be better if the theatre's equipment was better) I thought everything about the movie was great... (Which is odd, because 5 is my least favorite book, but the movie is my favorite so far)

It was finally midnight! Chloe had been waiting for the better part of the day, completely on end about what she should expect at "Twilight," and even more excited about who was going to be there. Since it was night time, and it was probably going to get cold flying around for an hour or so, Chloe dressed conservatively in a pair of jeans and an over-sized gray good that her mother had given her a few years back. After making sure Xander was taken care of, she grapped her map and made her way to the roof of Esper Hall. Just like the Library, the roof also seemed to be larger than what the building or any laws of physics allowed. The was even more breathtaking. It was manipulated to appear several thousand feet above the ground. Chloe stepped up to the edge and peered out to the forest and the lake just beyond that. It seemed that she coulds see forever from the room. "Good thing you're not afraid of heights." Jake's voice whispered in her ear throwing her off balance and nearly causing her to fall. He seemed like he wanted to laugh, but helped Chloe up instead. She figured that he must have teleported to the roof since that's what most of the others were doing. The only person who Chloe saw emerge from the door was Dante. He looked out of breath and figured that he got lost and had to run the whole way. "Alright. Now that everyone's here, he said signaling to Dante, "We can finally start. Chloe and Dante are new. You guys know the drill." All of the members seemed to smirk viciously as they stared at the two newcomers. And then each of them took a spot on the ledge of the roof. Dante and Chloe were instruced to stand by one of the leaders of the club, Chloe choosing Jake and Dante standing next to a rather small and weak-looking brunette. One by one they dove off the building, the young woman grabbing onto Dante's wrist and pulling over the ledge. Jake and Chloe were the last ones on the roof. "After you." He said. "Are you crazy?" He laughed a bit and then took off into the night, displaying several flips before return just inches away from the ledge. "Trust me." His voice was so calming and Chloe grabbed his hand before realizing what she was doing. The force of him taking off was so powerful, she felt like her shoulder had pulled out of place. And then, when she had time to readjust, she was flying faster than she could have ever imagined. Jake held only onto her hand as they sped towards the lake, the other Twilight members scattered all around them. And then they slowed down, Jake grabbing hold of both of her arms and holding her just below his body. It seemed like forever that they had flown in silence, but then Chloe heard a loud scream followed by a body falling towards the lake. She recognized it as Dante, and looked up at his carrier to see the amused and giggling face of that skinny weak girl. Chloe thought Dante was going to be swimming, but the another flyer appeared and grabbed his arm, using that momentum to throw him a good 100 feet to the left. It was all some kind of game to them. Chloe looked up at Jake, realizing what was about to happen, "Jake, don't you dare..." she thought she was about to cry. Several curse words were running through her head and Chloe really wished that she had the ability to make heads blow up. "Sorry babe. Initiation." And he let go. This was going to be a long night.
Also, even though only DB knows what he has in mind, time wise, unless your character is going to talk to another one the time is irrelevant. Your post at say midnight would not matter if it came before Fyxe or Aaryanna who are still around 7:45pm. I for one don't find characters, in the same day being at different times confusing.
Well it's not that I mind posting... But it's more of my OCD-ish nature that won't let me... ask Hells. He knows. That would bug the crap out of me to see something go from 7:45 to midnight, and then back to 8 or 9 o' clock... I would have to die. (no joke) So it's not that it's confusing, but I have never been able to immerse myself in a story of any kind (book, RPG, whatever) that didn't have continutiy or switched character perspectives a lot. But, since I assume DB is taking a much needed rest, (and I hope he is for health's sake) I'll wait for Fyxe to post, then I'll post with Chloe... And since I'm going to leave it open-ended, (Yes, I already know exactly what I'm going to write; I just haven't done it yet) I'll let Hells finish off the day for both of our characters. Then DB will get to have fun with his next chapter starting on Day 2...

Well, I'm going to have to disagree. I thought the movie was executed perfectly... Or rather, as perfectly as possible considering the length of the fifth book. I think the problem with the other books being made into movies was that the books were so short that they had problems going about the plot without just jumping into the seemingly pointless action. The 5th book, like you said, was so long that several things were actually better to be cut out. The majority of people who's read the HP series, has said that the 5th is their least favorite. (Proven by numerous polls) So, in the movie, they were able to cut around all the bull that made Order of the Pheonix so unbearable and get right into the bulk of the story. In my opinion, this is the only HP movie so far that out-does the book. And it's only downfall is that some of the aspects were changed.
For example, making Cho out to be the one who snitched on "Dumbledore's Army" made me pretty angry. Because, now the future directors (if there are any) will have to take that into account when filiming Cho and Harry's arguments in the 6th book. (should they choose to film them) To be quite honest, by putting the blame on Cho reverses the feelings. Because now I feel bad for Cho being forced to rat out Harry and other using Veratiserum (spelling?) instead of angry that she defended the girl that actually ratted (which was the books version)
I don't know, maybe it's the differences that made the movie better. Maybe I'm just easily enterained or I just absolutely despise the 5th book. (both statements are true) But the point is that this movie is the one out of the series that strayed the farthest from the book, and that makes me a little nervous as to how it will affect the other two...
I was also dissappointed that they didn't show more rooms of the Department of Mystery like that room with the hummingbird egg... I thought that was really creative and I was sad that they cut all of that out. I think the least they could have done was show the prophecy room a bit, but then have the majority of the chase through the other rooms... Not a major problem, but it was just something I was upset to see. (Or not see)
And by the way, I just want to say I'm happy with the casting in Order of the Pheonix... I loved Tonks! And even though I alwasy pictured her a little bit more boyish, I'm completely amazed that I hadn't thought of that version. The other one is Luna Lovegood. Her voice got a little-- okay, a lot-- annoying, but that's how Luna's character is, right? Plus, Luna is one of my all-time favorite characters, next to Ginny and Harry, and she matched my mental description exactly. (except her hair. It was too bright; reminded me of Malfoy. Blonde? Yes. That blonde? No.)

Okay... It seems like we've been a bit low on activity. (Not something to be worried about, but I'm just pointing it ou) I would like to wait to make my post at midnight since that's what I stipulated in my last post, but it seems like we've only moved up to 7:45... So, if you no one else has a problem, then I'll make a post (granted that Fyxe still wants to go first) puttingus at midnight, and then Hells can end off the day or something. (since I know he wants me to include Dante at the club as well) If that's okay with everyone, then I'll do it, but I won't post until I get the okay from you guys... I don't want to god-mod this thing. On another note to DB, why does the start of the second day have to be the start of the next chapter? I'm just saying that if you're not completely sure on how to start it, then it's fine to wait a bit and go ahead and let the next day start since you were already forced to start the 2nd earlier than planned.

Blah... There's so many that I like!!! And I don't want to be rude write the same thing as some before me. (And it was way too long to read all of the posts, so forgive me for repetitiveness) TOP 5: 5) Straylight Run: They have a very unique sound. Like White Stripes, they have the advantage of both a male and female vocalist. Plus, I really dig the piano in songs like Existentialism on Prom Night. They have also demonstrated a very dark, rock-like tune, with their EP, Prepare to be Wrong. That EP actually reminds me a lot of Matchbook Romance, who used to be one of my favorites. 4) Dashboard Confessional: Love the new album. Love the old stuff. There's very few songs that I actually don't like... And it doesn't hurt that I actually got to meet the band and get their pictures/autographs... So maybe I'm biased just because I've met them, but the violinist (Susan Sherouse) is one of the nicest and HOTTEST people I've ever met... (and that says a lot since we only got to talk for about 10 minutes) Talented voice on the lead, Chris Carrabba, and amazing sounds by the rest of the band. 3) Brand New: These guys are recent to my list... I also got to meet them. (They were doing a concert with Dashboard back in December, a couple of days before their new album release) And while Dashboard might be biased, Brand New is definately not. I liked a few songs from their old stuff, but when I bought their new CD, The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me, I had it on repeat for weeks! It's amazing. There are certain songs that will never get old, and I still haven't found a bad song on the entire CD; I love them all 2) Circa Survive: Also new to my list, their recent CD is enough to make me put them above all th rest at numero dos! Most will look at this band and say "Ew," and I can understand why, since it took me quite a while to get used to that style of music and Anthony Green's ungodly high voice. However, I alwasy liked ACT Appalled from their first album and when the new CD came out, I thought that I would have to give it a try. On Letting Go does not dissappoint. I'm glad I got it and now, I love his voice. On letting Go isn't as good as their first CD, but it's definately money-well-spent. and... 1) Green Day: Say what you will, it won't bother me... I've been listening to Green Day since I was 7! (Ohmigod, I just realized that I've been listening to them for 10 years!!!) So while, I'll agree that their new stuff on American Idiot, isn't as good as a whole, it's still good music. (And every band goes through musical developments; that's how they stay on top... Deal with it) In fact, while I don't really like a lot of the songs on American Idiot, songs like Letterbomb and Wake Me Up When September Ends are some of my favorties next to Good Riddance, Basket Case, and Hitchin' a Ride. Plus, I've got to stay loyal; that's just how I am. I even followed them through that embarrassing phase known as the band, "The Netowork." (If you haven't heard of them, it's no surprise. Green Day rufuses to acknowledge that they were ever in the band, but there's no mistaking Armstrong's voice) I'll always be a fan, regardless if they play punk rock or polka. (That doesn't mean I'll like the polka version) It only stands as a statement of how they can succeed no matter what they play... Other bands include: The Fray, The Academy Is..., Snow Patrol, 30 Seconds to Mars, Jimmy Eat World, All American Rejects, Muse, Taking Back Sunday, Ambulance LTD, Armor for Sleep, Bush, Temposhark, The Bravery, Radiohead, Earshot, Nirvana, Mae, The Foo Fitghters, Motion City Soundtrack, Thrice, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Matchbook Romance, and more... Also, I left this one out simply because you can't call them the best if they're not well-known: Auto Escape! They're an underground band from Dallas, TX. I found them on Myspace and was in complete awe! I've been trying to find a time for me to get to a concert... I'm still shocked that they haven't hit it big yet, but I know it will happen and I'll be waiting like that stalker down the dark ally...
Okay, looks like I'm the first to have their character done for the day. Come on, people! Let's get to day 2!
Alright, alright, alright... I just need to make one post and then I'll be done, but since Jiazu wrote it up at 7:35, it would be wierd jumpint to midnight, right? Oh well, I'll do it later today (remembers that it's officially Sunday) or tomorrow...

Any time I have a nightmare, I experience "sleep paralysis," but it's more inside the dream instead of being paralyzed when I wake up. And while I wouldn't really call it a lucid dream, I believe the in-dream paralysis is due to the fact that I try to take control, and my mind isn't ready for that, so my body inside the dream feels stiff and the movements don't want to occur. Of course any time you focus that hard, your bound to become aware and find yourself lying in your bed. (or some place else if you sleep-walk like I do) I remember when I was little, my nightmared consisted of blackness followed by a childhood monster just screaming at me or something... very rarely did my nightmares have actual settings... The only two times they did have a setting (such as my bedroom) were the times that lucid dreaming was close. The first was when I was little, and I'd just watch Steven King's IT... I had a bunk bed and when I peered over the edge, he popped up from the side and said something really creepy. When I woke up, I really thought I was awake; it wasn't that feeling you get when you're dreaming. I peered over the edge again and the same scene happened only it felt real. Then I really did wake up. That was my only experience with false awakenings. The only time I've actually been successful with controlling my dream was when I was in my room again, and I was on my bunk bed and there were several of my childhood fears (the Crypt keeper, Chucky, Pennywise the Clown, etc.) and I remember feeling really stiff in the dream as I attempted to fight back. And then I managed to poke out the cryptkeeper's eyes before I woke up. I was excited because I felt like I won! Anyway, one thing that I found to be true when I was little, (and used to scream for Mommy and Daddy after a nightmare) if it was really scary, then I wouldn't be able to speak at all. It was like my throat had constricted and what came out my mouth was less than a whisper... Scary dreams = bad childhood experiences The times where a dream rendered me speechless, I ended up curling into the fetal position for about an hour until my voice came back, too afraid to get out of bed, afraid of what was on my floor. My dreams nowadays are all pretty realistic, and most of my nighmares deals with the death of either myself, family, classmates, or friends. I've had several dreams where my brother, parents, and friends have died... Sometimes I'm in the dream and usually I end up dead as well. (Not actually dead, but just seconds before) My most recent dream that I remember felt like a re-enactment of Stephenie Meyer's book Twilight, that I'm still reading. I became obsessed over the chapeter where she's almost pinned in between her truck and the other vehicle. (If you've read it, then you know what I'm talking about) In my dream, however, I actually did get pinned in between them and I didn't die immediately... I just felt pain and then woke up. I also find that when I have a dream that causes pain (especially pain to my back) I'll wake up with it feeling like I'd just been hit in a pressure point and that part of my body won't loosen up... I assume that it's just my dream comprehending for the real pain I'm feeling. I never have any nice dreams, at least none that I remember... :(
I'd also sit there and watch the [short lived] tv adaptation of my favourite book series [at the time] Animorphs
Ha, I was so obsessed with Animorphs, (although I had never read the books; I didn't like reading when I was young) I entered a national contest and won second place, receiving the first 9 episodes of season 1...:animesigh Yeah, I still miss that show Oh and a more childish show that no one's mentioned,(I should probably take that as a sign that it's bad) is Gumby. I see how stupid the show is now, but I believe it became my favorite after I lost interest in Barney and before I became obsessed with Power Rangers... I was never really into Pinky & the Brain or Animaniacs... It alwasy made me mad that the mice never took over the world... Poor mice, so I lost intersest after I became old enough to comprehend that they would never come out on top... And Animaniacs just annoyed me as a kid. I was never one to like that style of cartoon, and animaniacs seemed to be a re-vamped version of Loony Toons. (also, a show I never really liked) And I don't believe I've ever seen Darkwing Duck or any of those... If they came on the Disney channel, then I know I didn't. I wasn't into Disney shows until I was about 10 or 12, when they were playing my all-time favorites: The Jersey, The Famous Jet Jackson, and So Wierd. I would probably still watch them if they were still on.
Who remembers Street Sharks? That was all me.
Holy cow! I thought I was the only one who watched that!!! That was one of my favorites!
I watched ALOT of the first Power Rangers
It's sad that I still do watch a lot of Power rangers... Of course it's not the new crappy versions... I try my hardest to find and download the first 5 seasons...
ReBoot was great, as was all of the original Toonami line up.
Whatever happened to that? I guess I missed the ending, but I used to be a cult-like watcher... I loved the concept and once again, I thought I was the only one who actually liked it. None of my friends did, anyway. Also, to add to the plethora of tv shows that I watched as a kid, I have to say Gargoyles, and Captain Planet were two of my favorites... I also didn't mind watching Freakazoid every once in a while... I never went through a Transoformers or TMNT phase. (Strange, I know, since most young boys do) That's why I feel like such a loser for wanting to go and see the Transformers movie. (Especially after I made fun of this 8th grader in my quiz bowl class for bringing the toys to school every day...)

I'm still fairly new so I haven't had a chance to meet a bunch of uber neat people, but I have a few that would be interesting: Rachmaninoff and Indifference: Rachmaninoff because he's the better Darren... :( And I think he's a genius (by the way he posts) and Indifference for 2 reasons. 1) She keeps Rach in line with Random whacks on the head, and 2) she was cool enough to be the captain at the beginning of OB: Survivor and to put Hopeless in her signature... Anomaly and Aaryanna: My longest running-mates in OB: Survivor and the other great minds behind Hopeless... They're creative and talented. Plus, they outlasted me. Vicky: The first person I befriended here on OB. The only goth that would be fun to hang around. Not to mention that she lives in the U.K. It's an excuse to travel, and I love London! 2007DigitalBoy: Hah, because I find it very funny that he owns noobie slaves... He's creative and doesn't mind taking time out to help others out... (By the way DB, I wouldn't make fun of you for being the youngest... I would just make fun of you) Trigun 11: I don't know whether it's our geeky obsession over Power Rangers (and Johnny Yong Bosch) or the fact that we're both involved in Forensics and debate, but something made her "glomp me" and suddenly I was forced into OB marriage... Hehe, anyway She's smart and funny and I think it's an amusing combonation that she's a debater/wrestler/dancer. SunfallE: I'm a secret fanboy... And she pwned me at debating... Plus, I believe that she is also a genius. (her and Rach are perfect toegether) Enough said. I also wouldn't mind meeting Allamorph or Dragon Warrior. Allamorph is a great poster and I like that he's pretty random. DW is also random and funny and I got to know him as part of the LOLs. He was really interesting.

A black guy with white hair? I don't think that's ever happened. (Nor will it ever happen unless there's an albino black guy, but in that case, he would be white with white hair) In any case, I thought he was just really dark, like his ancestrors were from the Middle East or something... Oh well.
I think Sandy has more of a right to be saying that to us, with his funky cat person ;P.
Yep, I completely forgot about Dafine until after I made the post and then I figured that I would just edit it in later, after I finished voting, but you beat me to it so nevermind...:animesmil

So... I had loads of fun this time around... It also helped that I wasn't erased from the game! I actually thought that I had a good chance to win whenever I had two character left by round 3 (and the fact that Delilah was the last one to die in round 2 was pretty exciting news to me) But, in the end, I knew no one would believe my Etamet story. :animesigh It was worth a try. And I knew that Delilah being revived would cause major problems with others since she was still anonymous... And I didn't care if Julian died! I hated what you guys did with him, but I guess it's better than what became of Merik and Katar... And, I feel bad for killing my own original character, but I just couldn't stand the fact of somebod else owning her... She was mine :animecry: and SunfallE took her away, and gave me a cat! (even though it really was funny) In the end, I'm glad I got as far as I did... Etamet was my favorite followed by Delilah and I'm glad they were my final two characters. I would just like to point out that while there were a lot of bounty hunters and hit-men, Etamet was meant to be a hunter in the wild, killing wild boars for his family and village... I wish I could have given him more of a back-story, but I was scared that it would draw attention to him... In the end, it was the lack of attention that killed him... Might I add, he was the only black character! I was shocked! (You guys need to be more diverse!) I would also like to say, that if I would have held out on my death card to be the last one, (given that Mary and Delita were the last two) I would have killed Delita... I didn't like her much and I thought it would have been poetic if she died trying to save Mary... Strangely enough, in both the Maze and Panopticon, the character that I planned on killing from the beginning, but held out because I thought it made the story better, ended up winning... This sucks. Next time, (or the time after since I plan on running The Abyss in a couple of months) I will kill all those that I don't like first! And if it makes the story crappy, well you can blame me, but I won't care! So, I guess it's time I got started on the voting... I'll edit this with my list of suspicions of owner's by the end of round 2 once I'm done voting! EDIT: Keep in mind that this is my list by the end of ROUND 2... So I hadn't figured out all of them at this point; some were too hard to figure out. And some of them, that died early on or weren't developed enough, arent' included: Rachmaninoff: Mary Winters Sastasha Sandares Allamorph: Delita Lytle Soliel: Serena Scarlatti Lillathica Sandy: Dafine Hecata Penelope "Penny" Archess BKStyles: Oromis Tu'wail Brittany Cossentine Premoniton: (Obviously) Marius Stratums Shilos Kreiger Angela Godspeed HellsMinion6676: Damian Legion Marcus Fenix Nadia Dylinda SunfallE: Lucia Travera It would seem that the only one I hadn't figured out anything on was BK and Allamorph. (And they were the two I was really thinking about the most!!!) Oh well, I guess that's why he won. (Or rather, Allamorph liked Delita better than Mary)

"There are many elements, as I'm sure most of you are familiar with the Periodic table." Mr. Anderson was walking around the outside of the circle of chairs. "However, it's been ruled that controling elements on just a fine level, such as hydrogen or gold, is impossible. To control an element, you need force of mind to combine the elements into something that can be used." After seeing his display over water and ice, Chloe was determined not to let Mr. Anderson down. He continued. "The basic chinese elements, which have even been icorperated into horoscopes, include Earth, Fire, Water, Metal, and Wood." The last element caught her attention, since she had alwasy been wondering if she were able to use that ability. "The ability to control each of these elements is known as Terrakinesis, Pyrokinesis, hydrokinesis, and so on. When you get more in depth, you are able to combine the power over kinetic energy with, just for an example, hydrokinesis in order to create Cryokinesis: The ablitly to control Ice, as you have just whitnessed." He finished, indicating the young man still frozen solid, but at least he was beginning to melt. Mr. Anderson went on to talk about the many different levels of -kinesis and which ones were covered in his class. "Some are naturally inclined to control a specific element," he explained, "While others can control all of them and some can't even fully control one basic element. To find out which ones you have a talent for, we'll be covering each element in this book." He passed out a book to both Dante and Chloe since they were the new kids in class. It seemed to be much larger than the book she'd received from Shiana, but far less complicated. When the bell rang, Dante approached her, "Some teacher, huh?" "Yeah. His methods are a bit over the top. I don't know if I'll stay in there or not." Chloe replied politely. She had never been one for much violence "Well, I just hope I can hone a few of my kinetic skills before Mr. Anderson loses it." "He does look like a mad scientist, doesn't he?" The two exchanged a few laughs before, "I'm Dante, by the way." "Chloe Verena. I believe we have seen each other on the bus." The two chatted happily, except for when they walked through the library, before they finally seperated. Dante left to check out the community, and Chloe decided to sit down and explore the library and her new books a bit more. Only a few minutes into the exploration of the elements, a young man sat down across from her at the same table. He had a large stack of books, but it didn't seem to bother him. "Did you read all of those?" she whispered. The man moved a stack of book to his right in order to clearly see her face. She realized that it was the same man from earlier today who showed up with Joe and the fat guy in Liam's office. "Yes. Speed reading is an understatement for most espers here. I like to keep up on my studies." he replied with a deep husky voice. "Why don't you just take a class?" "I find that nothing's more rewarding than learning something on your own," he replied with a small grin. He had surprisingly white teeth considering the cigarette that he'd been smoking when Chloe had first seen him. "Plus, I'm not the type for classes." "I'm Chloe, by the way." She held out her hand over the stack of books "I know. You're Alfed and Amelia's daughter. And you're new here. The name's Jacob Sanders, but I go by Jake." "It's nice to meet you," She said as they shook hands. Chloe was genuinely interested in this guy. His short blonde hair, crooked smile, and interesting personality really left Chloe in awe. The two whispered back and forth for about 10 minutes, and were interupted several times by the librarian who told them to be quiet. Then it was time for Chloe to leave; she'd left Xander up in her room and it was time for his dinner. "Well, I'll see you around," Jake called to her as she stood. "Yeah, maybe." "Well, if you want to get together later tonight, There's a group of people who go flying every night at midnight, if you want to come. "I thought you don't believe in Esper Hall being a school." "I don't, but this is more of a club anyway. We call ourselves twilight since we... "Yeah yeah, I get it," she interrupted him. "I can't really fly, though." "Don't worry. I can show you the ropes." That smile of his grew even bigger at this. "Okay, I'll be there." she finished, heading back with her stack of books for studying and reading. In less than a day, the silver-haired girl had found herslef in two classes, one club, and a million books to read. How could this happen? Whatever happened to taking it easy? She though, but they left her head almost immediately. At least I'll have something to talk to mom about when I decide to call.

Well, I'm new to electronica... Of course I've heard it before, but it's like you said, most of America doesn't really like electronica... I can appreciate it, but my music taste is very picky and so far, I've only found 2 electronica bands that I like, one being Imogen Heap, and I only like maybe 2 songs... I don't even know if the other band qualifies as electronica, but they label themselves as that so I'm assuming it is... Here's a link to their myspace! Squashed by Oromis's fat ***! What a way to go... And everyone seemed to be okay with the death... I mean, Oromis and Delita didn't seem too upset... And I get that it was just the death of a cat, but she used to be a person. Now, I have seen everything in the death-card series.

I post! That makes three... Sorry if I went overboard, I can change it if you'd like DB, but rally, if Chloe's going to have all this stuff about her dad, I just wanted to give her a bit more of character development rather than ignoring her past. I understand that Joe wasn't at Esper Hall in Alfred Verena's time, but I figure he's somewhat of a legend... Oh, and DB, I have to send you a PM about something!!! So expect one soon, so I'll know what to do before I make my next post!
