It had certainly been an interesting morning. The big guy, Liam, seemed to be nice enough but no one here seemed to like him. Even as she contemplated it herself, she thought about how he had rudely teleported her away from Xander and the others. But in the end, Chloe didn't like to make assumptions about people and she decided to give him a second chance. But next time, if he didn't bother to teleport Xander as well, she might just have to give him a swift kick in the face! Her class with Shiana was very interesting, actually, and it surprised Chloe at how intrigued she was once the class was over. After another trip to the "Realm of Time," as Clara called it, Chloe was aware of what was being served for dinner as well as what her mother was going to be doing that evening. After the pathetic vision of her mother's future, Chloe decided that she'd have to give her a call. Then, she was briefed on the three aspects of Clairvoyance that Shina's class worked to improve. 1) Traveling to the "Realm of Time" by herself 2) Increasing how far into the future she can see, and 3) Knowing how to saftely change details of the present to effect the outcome of the future. The third aspect was the most interesting to Chloe. The fact that she would be able to change the future would be an excellent ability to develop. Shiana materialized a small book about 100 pages long on different times and warnings of changing the future; when to do it, when to avoid it, and how you would go about changing a situation without destroying somebody's life. It truly was a prestigious class and would be very difficult. Even Shiana admitted that she had only meddled with time once. And even with her extensive training and mastery of the subject, it led to a series of crisis at Esper Hall a few years back. When the class had ended, it was back to the local drama of Esper Hall. Joe made certain that she was briefed on Liam: "I'm sorry about that bastard teleporting all of you over there," he said. "It's no big deal. I would have liked to hear what he was going to say though. She responded, feeding another cricket to Xander, who chirped approvingly "It was his same old nonsense about how Esper Hall is a school, and that all of you are meant for something more... He practically wants to force greatness on everyone," "What's wrong with a little encouragement?" Chloe was walking towards the forested area, hoping to find a peaceful spot to rest after Joe was done talking. "Nothing's wrong with encouragement, but it's like he's trying to rally everybody into an army. That's not the purpose of Esper Hall." "Well, just what is the purpose of Esper Hall? I get that we're here to learn control, but if it's not really a school, then why even have a community for Espers." "I thought your mom would have told you: When Liam took over as the leader of the community, he wanted to make it into a school and only allow the best of the best to get in; almost like a college. Your father was one of the leading forces against his suggestions. Your dad, along with the majority of the community, believed that Esper Hall should be a Safe Haven for anyone and everyone who needed a place to call home. If it weren't for him, your mom wouldn't have gotten a job here, and you probably wouldn't be standing here with me." Joe went on to explain that Esper Hall is different for everyone. It's a school to people like Liam, a training facility to the people who need control, a school and shelter to the homeless and less fortunate, and for Chloe, Esper Hall is a way for her to connect with her father. And then he decided to leave. Chloe had found a good resting spot on the trunk of a fallen tree. The spot was perfectly shaded, and warm enough for Xander to go exploring. Chloe began thinking about all the information that Joe had said and immediately decided that her dad had good judgement (despite her never meeting him) and took back Liam's second chance. Just as Joe was beginning to teleport, "Don't stay there too long or you'll miss out on dinner." "Are you kidding? I've seen what we're having, and there's no way I'm going near that food!" As she contemplated everything in the warmth of the forest, resting against the tree trunk, she drifted off to sleep.

Well, I thought about the latest clue... And it's killing me that everyone's stumped, and I may just be wandering around in the dark here, but after examining the "Control" key on the keyboard, I realized that maybe it wasn't meaning so literal (since it's got to be the modifier) C-T-R-L. Since we already know that it's got to be somewhere on LiveJournal, perhaps these letters point to which site we should go to... I came up with it while I was texting a friend. Like maybe, C could mean "See" and T-R-L could be the abbreviation for something as a commonly used tool on LiveJournal??? Like maybe, on interests search, we could try TRL, (The MTV show) and see if it comes up as something??? Like I said, I may just be grasping at randomness, but it's worth a try, right?

Oh, nevermind... I was going to post, but I wanted to get to bed by midnight and I would only ahve 8 minutes to do that... So you might see a post from me tomorrow... It depends on if I'm still feeling creative after 7 hours of sandwich making... My guess, most likely not, but maybe there would be a miraculous post that will get me to think of something neat... Until tomorrow.
-
And just so you know, I've posted! *Cheers* I hate waiting, so while I said I was going to wait on the rest of you, you just took too long... Plus, I don't know if I'll be able to be on the computer as much in the following weeks so it was important that I got that out of the way less I be erased like last time... I'm just glad that I wasn't erased in the final round this time and that I was able to make my contribution... The post wasn't as good as I would have liked it to be, but I was being rushed since I have to be at work at 7 in the morning tomorrow. And I still have another post to go for Esper Jam... I don't even want to think of how crappy that one will be. *sigh* 'night then, guys!

After Etamet's sudden demise, the group felt that it was only a matter of time before someone else was killed. It seemed that the longer they stayed in the imaginary mansion of Mary's home world, the more traps they would encounter. Oromis had escaped death twice already, since he was out front, and the others weren't doing so well in the stamina department. Delita noted how tired Mary looked and in a group decision, the decided to set down and rest. Mary still knew her way around, but every exit they had tried was shut tight and not even Delita could pry it open. Presently, the were all gathered in a circle, just outside the main door (where they originally started) finishing off the remains of their food from a day or two ago. Delilah was still unconscious, and Mary sighed as she couldn't help but feel it was her fault. They made small talk about their lives back at home and what they would do should they ever make it back. Delita knew most of it, but she found herself forgetting more and more details as she settled into her body. If she made it out, it would be permanent. When the front door made a small clicking noise, everyone jumped out of fear, praying that they had not triggered another trap, but the door just opened very slowly, allowing a dim light to push it's way into the mansion's entrance hall. They all gathered their stuff and quietly followed Oromis who seemed ready and prepared for anything. He wasn't in the slightest. When the group emerged, the first thought Mary had was that the Panopticon was "eating" itself. Of course that sounded crazy since it didn't have a mouth, but the once-beautiful scenery of wildflowers they had seen, and even Mary's mentally generated summer mansion (still just as beautiful as the real thing) were being sucked away by some odd vortex of brilliant colors. The wind was immense as it took chunks of the mansion and even the very gound with it, sending them into the purple stream of light until suddenly, they were sucked away. "What's going on?" Oromis gruff voice projected over the howling wind. "The Panopticon is running its reset mode," Delita answered back, and the horror on the others' faces, including the Brittany the cat's, meant that they all understood their dier situation. But Delita was more confused than anyone. Of course she was preparing for her settlement into Delita's body, and that meant getting rid of a lot of the information and knowledge of the Panopticon she possessed, but she still knew the most basic rules that the Panopticon ran on, and that included it's termination rules. "We have to go now!" she called back to Oromis, and they began running, each holding onto the other's clothes by instinct; no one wanted to be blown away to their death. A clean sweep shouldn't be running with both ESP programs terminated. In fact, the only way reset mode could occur was with both ESP programs. When Delita stumbled across this bit of memory, she wondered if they two programs had really been destroyed or if they were only temporarily disabled. She even wondered, if in the abcense of Cicatrez, Inertiatic hadn't brought another group of guinea pigs to this hell hole. Perhaps that's how Cameron came to this place If it did, then there's nothing I can do for them now. I must stick to my goal As the very floor and sky were sucked away into a black hole, Oromis fought hard to make it to a tree in the distance. Really he didn't know what good it would do if everything was being pulled away, but it seemed to be the only bit of land that remained unmoving. When the group finally reached the tree, the saw every inch of their ground disappear, leaving the tree and it's amazingly large and extensive roots to provide cover. The tree seemed to be sturdy, and when it the clean sweep's force became stronger, the surface peeled away to reveal rather large networks of wires stretching from what appeared to be the floor up to the ceiling; the tree was merely camoflauged. "Our incident with the archangels must have been the Panopticon's correction program. I've never seen it run before, but I heard it's supposed to terminate the virus and re-establish the ESP programs, Delita's mind was racing and her body was gripping to the circuitry that seemed unmoving, attempting to keep Delilah out of harms way. And when Brittany let out that burst of dark energy, killing all the archangels, it must have fooled the program, thinking that it would be allowed to restart successfully. She was finally peicing it all together, But ESP can't be restored with participants still in the panopticon, so it went directly to reset mode. She cursed her stupidity for not seeing it before. If she knew how much danger they were really in, she never would have let them stop to rest and eat. It was her stupid mistake that would get everyone killed. "Delita!" Oromis' voice shocked her back to reality. He was climbing up the circuitry, and he seemed to have found a way out of thier room. "Hurry up and climb." But Delita was so thrown off by the sight that she lost her footing, sending her flying through the the air. She managed to grip one of the smaller bundles of wire with one hand and grab Delilah's hand with the other. Mere hours earlier, it would have been easy to pull herself and Delilah back out of harms way, but now it seemed impossible. Her strength was dwindling alarmingly fast, and Delita was faced with a choice. In all the commotion, and the roaring of the wind and vortex, Delilah began waking up. And it certainly wasn't in a position she liked. She screamed at first, and then looked up to see that Delita was holding on to her. It certainly put her at ease knowing she was in the hands of a super-strong, panopticon program. Still, it didn't change Delilah's shock when Delita let go of her hand. Delita wished to save Delilah, but her human emotions were growing more and more prevelant, and she knew that in order to save the others, she needed to let Delilah go or else they would both die. At least that's what Delita told herself afterwards. Who knows what went through her mind besides all that adrenaline. Perhpas she just wanted to live like any normal human. Delilah flew backwards, arms and legs flailing, as she did several aireal flips, screaming the entire way. The wind was so loud, she wondered if the others were able to hear her. She closed her eyes, feeling sick and terrified from all the flips, and then there was that ever familiar darkness that she had already experienced once before. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OOC: Sorry, I couldn't wait any longer. I'm very impatient!

Well, unfortunately, I don't have the memory on my computer to save all the projects that I make so I'm ususally forced to save my photoshop projects as jpg and then delete the PSD... So while it would have been easy to simply add another layer of pixels, I'm afraid that it's not so simple to change it at this point... Not to mention that I just don't have the time, and I don't want to be backing up the process. However, I do have a suggestion: If Jigglyness doesn't mind, could we uplooad hers as a jpg and through IE??? I went ahead to try the results and it still matches up with Ninjah's entry almost perfectly... (the only flaw is the puprle line that says "Crank it with," and even then I had to zoom in just to see that it wasn't the same color) :animesigh I don't know. If that's not something anyone wants to do, then I guess I'll have to be skipped and I can try again next time.:animecry: At least now I know what I was doing wrong when I saved the image.
First off, no, this was never a problem with the first graphic worm because all submissions were required to be in jpg format. So there were never any issues with png support. Maybe we should just drop png and only allow jpg and gif for this worm? If this continues to cause problems for people matching up colors I might have to do that.
I figured that if that were the case, it would have been a stipulation from the beginning. Either that, or someone would have decided that earlier on after we got several back-to-back problems....
Anyway, the colors for Darren's entry match up in Internet Explorer, but not in Firefox. Again, this is because IE's support for png files is crap and it's making the colors on some png entries -- including jigglyness's -- darker than they should be. Opening the file in Photoshop and using the dropper tool on the bottom-right corner of jigglyness's entry gives the color #4D6798, while taking a screen capture of the worm in IE and using the dropper on the same pixel gives the color #415B8E, which is the same as on Darren's entry. Never, ever use a screen capture from Internet Explorer to compare colors, or preview your entry in Internet Explorer. Always save the previous entry to your hard drive and open it in your graphics program alongside your own entry to compare colors and preview it. IE is the devil and shouldn't ever be used at all when png files are involved.
I'm not sure I'm following... Sorry, if this sounds dumb, but what's the difference between a screen capture and just saving it... Because I opened Jigglyness's entry on my computer, saved it to my hard drive, and then opened it using Photoshop, so if that's not what you're talking about, then I'll figure out a differnt method should I choose to make another entry.
Also, one more little thing that needs to be changed, Darren, is shifting the entire image down one pixel to get the lines to match up, then filing in the top row of pixels. Right now there's one row of white pixels along the bottom that don't match up and are pushing the rest up out of alignment. The image quality and format is fine, though. The actual entry is plenty high quality, it's only the preview you posted of the two entries lined up that's grainy. You just need to make sure you're matching your entry's colors up to the previous entry's actual colors.
I'll fix that ASAP and upload it right away. Would you prefer me to upload it as a jpg or a png after it's done?
-
Well, I like most controversial character, but what about unique? There's a difference between both of them and it's another award... Just brainstorming, I'll come back when I have more ideas.
-
Well, scariest player and ruthless are kinda the same right? Anyway, I would drop coolest card simply because it doesn't really pertain to any of the players so what's the point of giving an award away to a card??? And I alwasy thought we were going for most imprisonments, Most unexpected death, etc... I can't think of any other ones at the moment. And don't worry, I'll post. I just might not use my death card. :D
-
Darren, you upload it as a rather low quality jpg, which messes up the quality a lot. Notice how there's blur and ugly grain and such over the picture. It isn't a big surprise that you can't seperate the colours now. I reccomend that everyone tries to use the exact same colour and then saves it as an as high quality as possible .png. It always works for me (I use PSP7 or PSP9 mostly). Not really an original advice, but that's the only advice there is to give, I think.
Well, I don't really see the blur you're talking about and you're wrong about how I saved it. I did save it as a jpg, but it was at maximum quality that PhotoshopCX would allow... Just to make sure, @ Desbreko or Retribution, to you guys want me to change it or is this okay... I can try Boo's advice if it's a major problem, but I don't really want to go through all the work if it's not messing up on most people's computer...
-
well, I think that's fairly simple clue: Shifing our eyes to our hands (as in the hands we use to type) in which case, the key right below Shift would be "Ctrl" which is an abbreviation for Control... Which is also one of the three words "She's lost Control" that we've been trying to figure out. In any case, I think it's a safe bet to try out that blog that Fyxe pointed out. Maybe the blog name is Control or She's lost control... Whatever, let's just try it. EDIT: Nevermind, I couldn't find anything on that stupid Alive Diary... Perhaps it does have something to do with LiveJournal and we were just going to the wrong site. I'll give it a shot.
Like SunfallE said, the only way that would be true is if DB sucks at English and used the wrong word. lol Their character means just that, you have to revive a character that is yours[/U'].
As long as my characters died in round 3. That's another assumption... If all of my characters died in round 2, I don't think it would disqualify me from using the card. After all, even in the description, DB said it was like a life card, and while no one has really been known to do it, it's very possible that they could have used the card on someone else's character... What I mean by assumptions is that BK used the shield card on Delita Allamorph killed Cameron instead of Brittany I cloned Etamet And we know SunfallE doesn't have any left so, I won't mention her... That would mean (assuming that those three statements are true) that Oromis and Mary belongs to either Rachmaninoff and Sandy.... But this might not be the case: Perhaps Allamorph killed Cameron over Brittany simply because he like her more. Maybe I revived Etamet because the rest of my characters were gone in chapter 2 and I had no other choice. Maybe BK used it on Delita to throw us off... That coud mean that Mary or Oromis belongs to one of us... Of course, I could just be pissed that Etamet died, and I could be blowing smoke, but I guess we'll find out at the end. Oh well, it's like Sandy said, "At least it was someone's character."
Do the hex codes match up, or are they totally different? I get the feeling they're totally different. Actually, I'm not even sure how this is happening... if the two's hex codes are the same, there should be no variance.
Well I used the eyedropper tool like you guys said... And in fact, I've been saving each entry on my computer to match them up, and I've only seen 2 (I believe the same two that Allamorph pointed out) that didn't match up... When I created it on Photoshop, it turned out fine for me... See, it turns out fine when I upload it... Was there ever this problem with the old Graphic Worm??? Because if not, is it possible that it doens't have anything to do with internet browsers?
-
By the way, DB, you got Chloe's personality down perfectly!!! It's amazing how you did that... And thank you. After seeing how you handled Shiana's class, it makes me more comfortable knowing that it's not as magically inclined as I originally thought. So thanks!

I think everyone's waiting to kill... Just in case they get the opportunity to decide if their character lives or dies. Frankly, I'm waiting until one of two characters die so I can kill off the other. There are two that I despise, but I'm not as good tempting others to kill them. (that, and I couldn't make both of them kill kids since that's been done and it's the only proven method I have) So it looks like I'll have to do it myself... But still, I bide my time. And to Sandy: You shouldn't make assumptions. :p
Name: Clone Card Effect: this card can only be used on a character who has died in Chapter 3 of the Panopticon. This will create an exact clone of the character. The effect is the same as a life card, only the player themself has to be the one to revive their character.
Well, then I'm completely stumped... I have no idea how to even figure out what three words the song is talking about and even then, I wouldn't know how to use those words to find the next clue... AH, so confusing!
-
After much serching, I found the the LiveJournal site again. here it is: http://nilsnectar.livejournal.com/ Anyway, in the clue it says something about listening to something and those three words, which basically indicates listening to the song and using "The three words" to unravel whatever it is we're supposed to find in LiveJournal... The only three words that are pretty obvious is the title: "She's Lost Control" I bet there is something in one of her journal entries that indicates the next clue or the answer... But I don't really want to read through all that again. Someone else give it a try. And I think Ombra=Shadow and Morti=Death. (Think about the word Mortician)
-
This is a recent addiction... It might only be a craving, but I can't help that. I've wanted some Bananna Pudding with Nilla Wafers for weeks... And as many times as my mom said she was going to go out and buy the stuff for me, (and one of my co-workers even said she would make it for my birthday a week ago) I still haven't gotten it!
-
EDIT: Darren, I could hug you that post was so great! Also, is hells your brother or something?
I don't know why I just noticed this... I'm not very observant, but thanks for the compliment. I was a bit worried after I made the class up since seeing and altering the future doesn't exactly fall under mind powers. (It borders Sorcery and Harry Potter stuff... I know I like Harry Potter, but that was something I definately was trying not to do) And no, Hells is a friend from school who I introduced to OB when he saw me typing a post for the maze at school. My only brother is at boot camp right now probably getting yelled at. I hope he is... (unless he's asleep, which a very good possibility since it's midnight in California. *off topic*) Anyway, that's why Hells' first sign-up was for The Panopticon. :D
-
Well, I wasn't so sure about LiveJournal, but it seems that Ombramorti is a link to The Clurr's LiveJournal. As far as it being Italian: I have a translating website and nothing came up with the word "Ombramorti" Anyway, about three entries down, is the exact same clue we were just given... The first entry is about a ghost though, so I don't know if that's significant... i can't find anything indicating a clue though... Here's a quick link for everyone though: Edit: Hmmm, sorry about the bad link. I could have sworn I copy the address correctly. When I went to search for the LiveJournal account, I couldn't find it anymore... It went from 1 result to 0 results under google... It seems that we'll have to find another way to get to the site unless we're going about this the wrong way.

Who here has a journal? (No not a blog of sorts.)
Darren replied to Domon's topic in General Discussion
Well I have about 3, I would say... Most of them, has the exact same stuff in them but each of them have a exclusive information and journal entries. Meaning that when all three of them are read together, the key to the universe is revealed. (I wish) Anyway I have my: Secret Journal: I hide this one from my parents and none of my friends have ever read it. It deals with deeper emotions as well as love interests. (And it contains a few of my pictures that I drew) It's rather large and bulky since it's been fashioned out of a notebook, sketchpad, and a binding thingy that I cut up, all crudely taped together (I got the idea from some Disney show about a 2 years ago, but I forgot the name) Travel Journal aka: Lie Journal When I'm at school or on the road to family reunions or at camp or whatever I'm doing and I know I'm going to be away from the house, (and more importantly, the secret journal) I carry my travel journal. I write in this journal in the style of Thoreau meaning that while I'm out or traveling, if I see something in nature I think is beautiful, I write about it. It ends up being very existential to the untrained eye. However, everything that I write in it is basically a code comparing that object to something or someone at home. I also like to sketch little pictures here and there about the things I'm writing. (I find it easier to sketch trees and flowers than people) I do this because, I know that I can't hide my journal when I'm not at home; I wouldn't know all the good hiding places. And I know that people can never mind their own business so I give them something boring to read, if they're really that interested! Computer Journal: No, it's not my myspace blog or anything. It's a folder on my computer that contains stories, pictures that I think are meaninful, poetry, and occasionally an actual journal-esque entry. Plus, I've got my computer graphics saved in there so I can look at my progress while I'm learning the programs. Since it's basically public, (meaning that my mom or brother could easily find it) I don't write anything in there that I would mind other people seeing. I've also got it all backed up on a flash drive just in case my computer crashes. -
2 words: Raging hormones... The older ones don't need to write about it in order to satisfy themslelves... This is for obvious reasons. The younger ones are a bit less experienced and willing to jump into sex 24/7... They'll learn that it's not alwasy necessary and while it may make an RP or story more steamy, it doesn't alwasy make it better; in fact, it makes it worse on most occassions. I know for one, that I never finish a book that has a sex scene in every chapter... If I wanted the mental images of sex all the time, I'd download porn... The brain just doesn't need it ALL the time. It's an overload of several bad things at once, and after being in the Maze and the Panopticon back-to-back, I've had my fair share of literary sex for quite some time. Edit: However, let's not forget HellsMinion. He's willing to up the rating as well, but he's older than I am... So, you know, it's not just the young ones. But I suppose there has to be a balance somewhere.
-
Did anyone notice the link to the primo video... It's linked to "They're around here somewhere" Anyway, I couldn't make out all of the words, but perhaps it's the screen name of who we should be looking for on myspace... Just a thought, but it looked like "______ Macabre" I couldn't tell the first name. Perhaps Danza... I don't know. EDIT: I typed in "www.myspace.com/danzamacabre" and it took me to a site with 1 picture, a little bit of information, a song by Joy Division, and this: "to find your direction all you have to do is listen those three words one of them should be a modifier. the answer lies in a diary alive go." That's my contribution for the day... I'm completely thrown off by this clue. Perhpas it has something to do with the song? I don't know... Help if you think of anything.
-
And she will get mine as well... I couldn't help but laugh on your OCC statement: "And whoever owns Delilah is now the proud owner of a cat" (I would quote, but I"m too lazy, sorry)... I suppose I'm tired. (You know how everything seems hilarious when you're tired) I'll read it in the morning when I've had plenty of rest and tell you if it's still funny. Anyway, DB! All of my cards that I was thinking up! How can I have any original cards for my death-card series if you keep making all of them??? And some of them I had the same idea on!!! Laybrinth (Sandy) = Death, Life, Teleport Maze (Rachmaninoff) = Switch, Duel Death, Creation Panopticon (DB) = Too many to keep track of!!! Man! Now I gotta be creative again... Damn you... Man that's a lot of exclamations marks... and periods... ah well. Edit: I just re-read it... It's still funny
-
:stupid: no issues here by all means go ahead a up the rating on this thing.
To Hells: Please don't... While I don't really have a problem with alluding to sex, or even in-depth depictions like DB does, (And I know Indifference is capable of *cough* MAZE *cough*) this RP seems too light-hearted to have all the sex. God knows that since the rating system was used, there's hardly any RPs that don't have the "S Tag," plastered on the front of it. And while most of those RPs never actually need the S because they never use it, I know of at least 2 (and I'm guessing more) people who would willingly turn this RP from the light-hearted fun thing I signed up for into some bad role-playing porn... I don't mind make-outs, I don't mind people ending posts with things like "They entered [Insert Name]'s room and closed the door behind them to insure their privacy." (Not that that's a good example, but I'm tired) And etc. But maybe I'm just being bitchy, eh, whatever, but I've never been one to take part in writing sex. (That's just too weird) And you could definately count me out for this RP just because of the simple fact that I'm a guy and my character is a straight female... That's a bit awkward writing sex scenes anyway, so I'll just stay out. (Not that I wouldn't anyway.) Okay I'm getting redundant and I'm starting to rant... (too late) In any case, I posted for you DB. If that's not something like Shiana's personality, I can change it and make someone else up. Whatever works.
