Hold the phone . . . ! Did we all see the same film? You all LIKED 28 Weeks later? This is MADDNESS! It was a God-awful excuse for a film! Half the time you couldn't even SEE what was going on! Shoddy workmanship! I'm a huge fan of Days, and I was hugely dissappointed with the mess the made out of what could have been an awesome movie! I don't actually think I've ever seemn a worse film! No lie! You should all be ashamed!
I can think of a few that were worse... Well, I guess since I actually liked the movie, I could give a long list of what movies are worse. Just off the top of my head: Open Water. :animesigh But that's not important. If all you're providing is camera views then I'd say you have ADHD... It's not just about the way a director works the camera; (which btw, different directors have different methods and different people have different tastes in their directing style. What obviously bothered you didn't bother me much at all) it's also about the story, the plot, the character development, etc. As most of us have been saying, the character development was a bit down. Motivation for some of the actions weren't present, the action was amped up, (and that about 50/50 on whether it's good or not) and the some of the scenes were a bit rediculous to believe or just too repetitive, predictable, what not. Personally, all of these things play into what made the movie digress towards imperfection. However, Ignoring small details and inconsistancies, (which are common when switching directors. Note: Harry Potter) I actually thought the good out weighed the bad. The re-introduction of the rage virus was executed very well as well as the realistic response of the American Government. Plus, for me, the opening scene was so tense, and emotional, and action-packed at the same time that it really made the whole movie for me. Really, it's all been stated before by all 12 posts preceeding yours. And if all you have to say about the film is that the camerawork was "shoddy," then I would say that you, sir, are the one who should be ashamed. :animeangr I agree that 28 Days was good... But I never cared enough to actually remember small details besides the opening scene. I don't really recall too much of character development in the first one either, although the emotions of the girl losing her father and the black chick almost killing the main guy, (once agian, didn't care enough about the movie to remember their names) And pitting human against human as opposed to human against infected. And even if that's the kind of dynamics you're looking for, it's all present in the 2nd film as well. It may be to different means and less of one aspect than the other, but it's all still there. You just weren't paying attention *ADHD* All in all, however, I do agree that 28 weeks later wasn't the greatest film at all. I would give it a 7 out of 10. (maybe a 7.5) However, considering 28 Days Later, I would rate that a 6.5 - 7... Differences in opinion. *shrugs*

Yay, I posted. It was actually pretty short for what I ususally post, but I didn't have much creativity to put into it... So drained. Am I the only one who feels that way because the posting has been down quite a bit? Or maybe everyone's just a bit busy. Anyway, there are only six more posts left before we can start the blood bath! muahahaha... Can't wait!

The fact that Sastasha, or rather Dafine, had been panicking was odd. She had never even been close to a break down before and only a few hours in this body and she was ready to end it all. It was stupid on her part, but the real Sastasha seemed to realize her state of mind. "Don't worry now," He said, placing a hand on her shoulder. The warmth of the fur that was once her own was very comforting to Dafine. "When we get out of this, I'm sure our minds will be fixed." The two stood up and continued into the next room. Since we're together now, maybe we can finally figure this trap out. ~~~~~ The Eternal Onlooker had been standing completely still for nearly 30 minutes, becoming aware of every muscle and every organ that Delita's body had to offer. It locked up every single muscle and focused all of it's concentration on the ears. With any luck, it would be able to hear footsteps several rooms over. It's breathing was steady, but it's heart was pounding with excitement. The Eternal Onlooker had no fear of death because it was nothing more than a computer program. It just wanted to be free from watching these vessels come and go for an eternity... This was it's only chance "That's it!" It was brough back to reality when it heard a single pair of footsteps enter a door several rooms in front of it. Delita's body became active again as the onlooker forced each of her lovely muscles to sprint forward. The vessel reached a rather impossible speed for a normal human. But again, Delita was no longer normal and the Eternal Onlooker happened to be more familiar with its new-found body than Delita ever was. ~~~~~ Etamet was shocked to see the sly figure of the pointy-eared woman burst through a door to his right. She had a smirk on her face that he had never seen before, human or otherwise. "Am I to assume you are enjoying this?" He asked. Delita, or whoever was inside her, was jumping around, testing to see how far she could jump. Surprisingly, she managed to touch the cieling several times, which was a good 20 feet above them. "I guess you could say that. I have no emotions nor am I programmed to think; simply observe. But with Cicatriz self-destructed, I was able to over-write my simple programming functions with the objective of running the Panopticon. I have only one goal: To survive." "And what if you don't?" Delita's body was still was flexing her muscles and groping her breasts with amusement. "I guess that will be that then. I can't return to being the onlooker. I supposed I will just cease to exist. But don't get me wrong, I want to get as many subjects as possible out first. It's such a shame to see all those potential emotions go to waste." ~~~~~ "Uhh, what's that?" Sastasha, in Dafine's body, backed up with a shocked look on his face. Dafine wasn't used to the way this human saw. She actually had to squint her eyes to notice the new red numbers on the black doors. Squinting was so unbecoming of her kind and would surly have resulted in rejection from her people back on Bastet. I hope I don't stay like this for too much longer. She thought. The red numbers were actually counting down from one hour. Whatever happened when it reached zero couldn't be good. And so it occurred to all four members of group 2 that this trap wasn't so harmless after all.
Yeah, I agree that the
helicopter may have been the reason for infection in France, but as Arcadia pointed out, we do see a shot of infected running through the Channel Tunnel toward Calais. So perhaps it's a combination of elements going on there, I'm not really sure. They seemed to make a specific point of showing the tunnel, so I assumed that they were indicating that this is how the virus spread to mainland Europe.

I'm not sure what you guys are referring to about the tunnel. The very last shot in the movie, (unless something happened during or after the credits which I always miss)
isn't of the tunnel in Calais. It's of either a tunnel or a random building in Paris. Notice the Eiffel Tower in the background. Calais and Paris are a good hour's travel apart...
so that was my assumption that it had nothing to do with the tunnel. I mean think about it. The Govternemnt would have had that thing locked up ages ago. There'd be no way for anything or anyone to get through. Besides
the infected are motivated by the non-infected. If there was a really really really (you get the idea) long tunnel with no sign of life, then the infected would really have no reason to even enter the tunnel...
I also think that the people who are actually running from the infected in the last shot bear no significance at all. It didn't strike me to look like the boy or girl so I assumed it was all just random people. Too hard to tell. I'm not sure if Arcadia was referring to the people running as being the kids or not, but that's just what I thougt.
Also regarding the whole question of eating...
I think the bites are just a way for infected to attack. I mean if you have no weapons and you're trying to kill/harm someone and you are running on basic motor functions, I assume that biting would be a natural way to harm someone. So I never viewed the biting as "feeding", more as a form of attack. Afterall, I don't think we ever see an infected person eating someone else's flesh.

Well the way I always thought was instinct to pass infection was their whole puking thing they do. That's how the infection gets out to begin with. When the animal rights activist became infected from the chimp's bite, the first thing she did was turn to the side and puke blood... Which had to have gotten into the other's mouth or eyes because he became enraged just seconds later and attacked the scientist... So that's probably why it never struck me that biting was a natural form. And you're right, the infected don't actually consume the flesh, they just bite. But there wasn't 1 person bitten in the original movie, (unless that guy the black chick kills was bitten. But I'm pretty sure he was just scratched, in which case his death was unnecessary) and there were two cases were in the first.
I just remembered that Don kills his wife by biting her throat... Well actually it was the fingers through the eyes, but he bit her throat too... Oh man, that was a brutal scene.
I guess I'll call 19, but I'm really nervous. CGs are not my strong suit... I assume that won't matter. Still I'll try to make it look as neat as possible! :catgirl:

Well, to be honest Beth: You are who I perceive to be the biggest threat since You're really playing this game. It's quite intimidating, especially since you got first in the Labyrinth. I suppose you could take it as a compliment, but if I had a PK card, I would have used it on you. :p But we'll just have to wait and see how things play out! As for characters... I'm fairly certain who Oromis Tu'wail belongs to... But if that person has two (or even three chracters left! O_O) I have no idea who they are... I would post, but I have to be at work in an hour so It will have to wait for late tonight or tomorrow. Try not to do too many interesting things while I'm gone, 'kay? :D
And with regard to the zombies needing to eat - I don't think I need a spoiler for this - we have to remember that the people in this movie are not zombies as such. They aren't the "living dead" who feed on humans to survive. In this film, the Infected are still alive, they are just infected with a virus. They attack non-Infected as a way of spreading the virus but they do not eat at all - this is why they all died. They died of starvation. And this is partly why I really preferred the story in these films as compared to traditional zombie movies.
Well I thought that too. And that was the significance behind the name. That the entire continent took about 28 days to die out from starvation after the intial infection... But then in the second movie,
the very first person we see get infected, has the flesh from her wrist torn off by the mouth of the infected... That was something that thre me off because throughout the rest of the movie, no one else is bitten... The dad (Don) even kills the American woman by smashing her head in with her gun...
There are certainly some inconsistancies in the movie...
However, I didn't think the virus spread to Paris via the channel. I assumed that when the pilot took the kid over to France, he accidentally infected someone (since he was infected by his father) and that's how it got started in France.
O_o Holy crap! I hope DB didn't give those cards out too freely... :animeswea Anyway By a personality change, I meant that since she was possesed, we are to assume that Delita still belongs to the original creator and is still in the game (not an NPC) Naturally since she would still be playing, on some level it is a personality change... Only now instead of killing Delita Lytle, we kill the Eternal Onlooker. But I'm fairly sure that I'm deductions are correct, so I'll be ther first to say that this round has gotten crazy!
-
*raises hand* You know I'm on board! I can't wait to finish this thing.
-
Well first off, I just have to say that I love what Allamorph did with Eliana's death... I never saw it coming. As for the 3rd round, I'm not quite sure what's going on... I get the back-story and everything, but what's up with the zombie card? Is that like a revival card? If I'm guessing right, that means that Delita is still alive (and so her creator just regained her) but now she has a serious personality change... Oh well, I'll wait a bit before posting so I can see everyone else's reactions to this...

Okay, I posted. I thought that since two of our groups' numbers were getting pretty low that I would just have them meet back up. However, I realized that they had just been switched, (Lucia and Julian) so I didn't want to just have them meet. They have a nice obsticle blocking their path... So ultimately, it's up to you guys if you want to have them meet up... You could even go a really sadistic route and make the two pathways (that generate after a key is used correctly) get really close and then go in opposite directions forcing them to seperate again. That would be fun! :animeswea Or I guess BK and Allamorph could kill them off if they really didn't want them to meet up. Either way is fine with me! I'm just excited for the third round to be approaching quickly! :p Now, I will explain their trap: Both sides have 10 keys and 5 key holes, but they keys they have are for the opposite side... So they have to overcome adversity and relate the matching symbols in order to get out. If they use a wrong key, it effects the opposite platform. If they teleport a wrong key, it effects their own platform... Sorry if that's not clear... Let me know and I'll try to explain it better. :animestun Now, I must get sleep! Oh, I just wanted to say though, should the two groups meet, they will merge to form the new Group 1, and the others will shift up to form Groups 2 and 3, respectively. Have fun with your list now, SunfallE :D

When Mary Winters had finally woken up, Julian was propped up against a cave wall breathing calmly as though he were in some sort of trance. The reflection of light against the water, gave his face a very beautiful appearance, despite his obviously broken nose. When she became aware of her surroundings, she jumped up with a sudden jolt. "Oh no." She whispered to herself as she rummaged through her rucksack of food that her group had attained back in the cafeteria. Back when everyone was still alive and with her. Everything was ruined except for the fruit and veggies. Mary handed an apple to Julian and they shared a moment of silence for Serena and Nadia before they ate. Mary hadn't realized how much running for your life effects the appetite. She devoured hers and Julian even had seconds. After that the two proceeded down the cave passageway until they came to a metal wall, completely seperating them from the other side. Suddenly, another metal wall dropped down behind them, leaving a small room with nowhere to escape. For hours and hours Julian pounded on the walls and doors, but it didn't seem to be a trap... They were just stuck without a way out. They could survive on food for a long time and they seemed to have a source of oxygen. All they could do now was wait. **** Oromis and Lucia had traveled silently through the garden-like area for nearly an hour. This area in itself seemed to be a labyrinth. A maze insided a maze. How annoying, Lucia thought. The Garden was riddled with wrong turns and optical illusions, that the two thought they would never get out. In fact, one turn down the wrong pathway could mean death. At one point, they were shot at by poison darts from some nasty looking wild flowers. Another time, there was a wild boar there, to chase them down. Luckily Oromis was able to take it out. Finally, after was seemed like an eternity, they reached the exit. At least that's what it seemed like. In the center of the garden maze, there was a spiraling staricase made of rock that led down into darkness. Instead of back-tracking and hoping for another way out, Oromis volunteered to check it out first and come back. It seemed to be clear and Lucia inched her way down the staircase, pressing her back against the cool cave wall the entire time. She could literally feel the prescense of the opposite wall only feet away from her face and it didn't help that Lucia was highly claustrophobic and that the makeshift outfit she was wearing which was composed of a jacet and T-shirt were now damp and cold, making it hard to stay knotted and Lucia was worried that it was going to fall off. They stopped abruptly. "What's going on?" she asked. She could hear Oromis pressing and moving his hands across a wall of some sort. It was amazing how well her ears adjusted to the lack of sight. "Haven't a clue. There's a bloody wall here that wasn't there before." He began backtracking, forcing Lucia to step back up the steps, but then she crashed into a wall. "What the hell?" She screamed, her claustrophobia really kicking in now. "There's no way out! We're trapped!" But just then, the first wall by Oromis opened, sending a flood of light cascading though their small chamber. "I guess we have to go forward, huh?" It was rhetorical, but still Oromis gave Lucia a smile. Then they stepped intot he light. **** After several hours of waiting and waiting, the same artificial voice from the beginning video came out of nowhere, "Companions have arrived. You may now continue." The door suddenly opened to reveal a rather large room. The cieling was about 100 feet above them, and the floor (or at least what appeared to be the floor. It was actually a black liquid) was about 100 feet below them. The only movement that they could make was forward onto a small metal platform that consisted of 9 5x5 foot tiles. Just in front of the platform, was a control panel of some kind and on top of it were 10 different objects. They looked strange and although they were rather large, golden, and had wierd symbols on them, Julian immediately reconginzed them to be keys. Just below the 10 keys, were 5 keyholes. This is a little too obvious, he thought. Just then, two figuresemerged on the opposite side of the room, on an identical platform with its control panel jutting out into plain air attached to nothing but the platform to support it. Mary screamed and jumped with excitement; it was Lucia, "Miss Lucia, I'm so glad you're okay! The rest of our party has died. This is Julian--" She went on and on about things that weren't really the major concern, but Oromis was shocked back to reality when Julian's name was mentioned. He squinted a bit, trying to get a clearer vision and then he yelled too. It was faint, but they both understood it. "I'm glad you made it,Julian." His voice didn't carry any sound of gladness. Only that of seriousness, "But it would seem that we have a more pressing issue at hand. Any idea on how to get out of this mess?" Julian and Mary turned to each other, scared to attempt anything. Finally, he spoke to Mary. "It seems we have to use five of these keys to unlock the a pathway or something. I bet they have to do the same." Mary nodded, and without hesitation grabbed a random key and inserted it into a hole. Before Julian could even say anything, she twisted the key. Nothing happened. They didn't have a pathway revealed, but nothing bad happened either. Suddenly, Lucia screamed. Both of them looked up in horror to see that a corner of the platform Oromis and she were standing on had fallen through. Lucia had fallen with it, but Oromis caught her wrist and pulled her back up. If anything good came out of it, they now knew what the black liquid was at the bottom of the room. As smoke came pouring out of the substance as the metal tiles plunged into them, it was obvious they would be fallining into acid if they didn't watch themselves. "Your mistakes effect us and I assume ours will effect yours. Be careful" Oromis yelled across the room. Mary was in tears at the near loss of her friend. She was also embarrased for rushing so brashly into things without thinking. And that's when she noticed it: The key holes had strange symbols and so did the keys... They must have matches to indicate which one went where. When she pointed this out to Julian, he communicated it back to Oromis while she searched for a match. The two were dishearted to find none. "It was a great theory, Mary." Julian conforted her, but they soon found out that Oromis and Lucia didn't have a match either. "What about this?" She said, indicating a very small black button on the side of the console. Just underneath it was a compartment of some kind. It must store somthing, but since it was just a hollow hole with no door, neither one of them could figure it out. "Miss Lucia," she screamed back, "Do you have a black button on your console?" The pair searched their machine and saw that they had one as well. Once agian, without thinking, Mary grabbed a key and put it in the compartment and pushed the black button. A glowing light immersed it and then it dissappeared. Both of them cringed, awaiting something bad to happen to Oromis and Lucia. This time, it occured on their side. A small corner of their platform fell through, but it wasn't where either of them were standing, and once again, Mary felt discouraged for causing another trap to be enacted. On the other side of the room, Oromis watched a piece of Julian's and Mary's platform fall through to the acid below. Wondering why it had dropped when he hadn't done anything, he then looked in his compartment to find another small golden key. He examined the symbol on it and saw that it also didn't match one of the key holes and it immediately clicked what their objective was. "You have our keys and we have yours!" he hollered back to them, We have to teleport them back and forth to each other. But only five are correct so we have to be careful." Oromis clearly saw how much danger they were in. They couldn't afford to guess which keys to send and they were already having problems hearing each other as it was. To make matters worse, all of the symbols were extremely close in appearance so it would be even more difficult to teleport the right key. They were in for a long process.
Too bad. :p I think I made it clear that I disliked Meredith, just as you and Darren disliked Katar. She may not have been a pervert or a rapist like Katar, but she was still a killer. I've wanted her dead ever since that post where Darren had her remembering the time when she killed a kid. Trust me, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

*bows* You're most welcome oh fearless game creator! Besides, I'm not kidding, I hate characters that kill kids. It's like a pet peeve of mine when I'm reading. Any character or villain like that needs to die. So in a way you can see it as Darren's fault since he's the one who posted indicating she killed a child. :p[/B']
*Bows* I see that my great strategy has paid off. I knew that killing a kid would get under some people's skin... Hahaha, I love it!
Anyway oh lurker[/I'], I have killed so what's stopping you or Allamorph for that matter? Hmmm? I'll even provide an updated list for you two. :p
Hey! What happened to my wonderful colors? And why didn't you keep Katar, Merik, and Serena to the list??? I swear if you want a list done right (and colorful!!!) you have to do it yourself... :animeangr But I'm too lazy, so nevermind!

Oh, dang, I knew highlights would kill me... I thought about that right after I finished the picture and flattened the image, and uploaded to the net and I was so tired at the time I just thought, "whatever." But I do know what you're talking about; It alwasy gives pictures more... And I didn't mean to say that I was a PS novice... I just can't create crap without an tutorial... I had an entire semester class covering PS usage, but I had never actually drawn a picture and inked it on PS so it took me several hours just to find the right tutorial and since I had never tried inking before, it took several more hours just to finish that... :animesigh Next time, I may just color it by hand and upload it. It depends on how I'm feeling. Oh, I also noticed that I can't draw hands worth crap! I need to work on that one. :animeangr Anyway, I love your character too! The hair is amazing and it really does remind me of a lion's mane, plus the way her arms are raised like that emphasises her hair and makes it looke even more poofy! :D The colors are great and go very well together, as well as the shading. (and highlights, haha) Excellent job! BTW: what program do you use, Zeke?

Lately, I've felt like my world is getting progressively smaller. I'm officially a senior and will start school back up in August. And then only 10 months later, I'll be heading off to college. It wouldn't be so bad if I could have the comfort of family or friends close by, but it's a full 24 hours drive if you go nonstop to where I want to go. and if you knew the bum little town I'm from, you'd know that hardly anyone actually leaves... It feels so surreal to think of all those little kids that I knew way back in 2nd grade and how in one year, we'll join the ranks of those who came before us and most likely, we'll never see each other again. I'm also worried because I'm not a very social person; I can't make friends very easily, although I have several "accuaintences." And then there's always the fear of being unsuccessful. God, I have no clue when it comes to my future and it's depressing when I think about it. I know most people don't have a clue when they're a senior in high school, but for me I think it's really worse. Everything I want to do has a high probablility of failure; probably less than 10% actually make a living out of it... So naturally my life at home is plagued with phrases like, "find a failsafe," or "Something to fall back on." I know it's just to keep me okay when I'm all alone, but it feels like lack of encouragement. Anyway, onto the discussion: 1) What grade are you going into after this year? Are you graduating? Or did you already graduate? If so, what year? 2) Are you, or were you, worried? What do you plan to do with your life or are you just as confused, (and in some cases, scared) about the future as I am? 3) Did everything work out in the end? Or was there some sort of hinderance that kept you from going or doing what you wanted to? 4) What sort of advice can you give to someone like me? (Someone in high school who is freaked out of his mind)
-
Oh, I thought you were talking about actual video game RPGs... Sorry I'm tired, but I guess it's good to see that I'm not the only one to come to that idea. Edit: After rereading that quote, I just realized that I'm a complete idiot! *Slaps himself* as I said earlier, I'm tired, but I guess I just skimmed that entire bottom portion and didn't pay attention to what I was typing... I'm gonna delete that comment because I'm completely embarrassed. Well then, I don't even know why to keep this one since it doesn't really offer much... I guess I'll just say I want to write for the paper really really REALLY badly. 'Kay! :D

I am still waiting for the go-ahead on posting. I don't want to over load the second round, but where in God's name is Soliel and Hells??? Didn't DB say something about them having until Friday to post??? I don't even care what the final card is; I just want to get this thing moving again... Can't we just get rid of them? (I know that sounds harsh, but seriously, we've been waiting a week and they haven't even used their special cards yet, let alone posted at all) Errrggghhh! *Walks away while screaming and cursing savagely*
-
1) Oh man, right now I'm having one of my mental break-down moments... Only, since my parents are asleep, I have to be quiet. I've just been thinking about the fact that I'm officially a senior and in a couple of months I'll start my last year of school. And that even though I hate school and I hate the town I live in, I'm just completely scared of being on my own. (something I can't tell the family because I've built up that I won't get home sick since 7th grade. So, I tell all of you instead.:D) I have a close-net group of friends and I'm scared of losing touch. I'm afraid of moving over 24 hours drive from home to UCLA... It all just freaks me out, and then I start hating myself for acting like the big kid all my life saying that it won't bother me at all... AHHHH! Plus, that's a year away, but man, how a year passes. Plus, I don't really know what I'm gonna do after high school. 2) Well, I just got home from work, so I'm still kinda awake. Plus, I'm on an energy drink from about 3 hours ago. (hence the rambling in question 1) and lastly, This wonders remake by Green Day called "Working Class Hero" I've had it on repeat for an hour now... It's driving me to make a thread. I probably won't though, but hey, it's a nice thought.
-
I'm with you on this A_M. I would even be interested in helping out, and all the suggestions sound great to me. But maybe it doesn't have to be limited to just OB. I mean, we could expand it to a bit of external news. (Not a lot, but just tid bits with links to other articles) That way, for the people who are interested in other news but never really get the time to watch it or look it up on the net, (like me) we could have just a minimal amount of news on the other subjects people would want to hear about.
-
Well, I definately like the newspaper idea the most just because it's more developed. All three suggestions are great ones, but there are a few things with some that wouldn't help in my opinion: 1) On the requirement for new members: I understand that this is meant to prevent spammers from creating it, but let's think about this. If it were just a small amount of posts, what's to keep the spammers from posting 3 to 5 simple posts and then go onto create the thread? Sure, they'll get warnings from the mods, the second they find that the posts aren't up to par, but if they work quick enough, they can have the requirement taken care of and have the thread up in under 20 minutes. Also, if you limit them on thread-making, what's to stop them from just spamming a previously-created thread. Of course, the post would get delted and more than likely, they would get banned, but if their intentions were to simply spam and then move on, then why would they care? Also, considering new users, I do believe that it would be good for some. However, it would turn out to be a double-edged sword no matter how small or large the posting requirement was for new members. Some new members would benefit from it, but there are those that aren't new to forums and would actually be offended if they were required to make a minimum amount of posts. Many would either be hasty to post a thread, which could result in less than acceptable posts, or they would simply delete their account and move along to the next forum they come across. I am also unfamiliar with how the boards work and that it would be complicated to add what you are trying to say, but even if it did happen, it would ultimately cut down on newer members joining, the mods would have to be working overtime on crappy post warnings, and in the end we would still get spam. It may sound like a benefit to the boards, but I just can't see how it would actually help the community as a whole 2) I agree that it would be nice to send an ECard to every person who has a birthday, but to be quite honest, I've never been on a site that even recognizes birthdays besides Myspace and OB. And Myspace doesn't send you anything; it just tells all of your friends that it's your b-day so they can go and wish you a happy b-day. Now I haven't been on OB long enough to have a birthday during my membership, so I can't tell you how I would feel if I did receive a card, but even just getting something siginifies that unique touch that you were talking about. Once again, if we were to have something that sent an ECard, that would be way too much work on the part of whoever did it. I think OB is already going above and beyond with birthdays than any website that I've ever been on and so I'm already greatful for that. But even if they decided to do ECards, who would really know? I mean how would it help pull the community together since you would get the cards in private, and unless you publicized it in the forums, no one would know what it said? I don't know, it just seems like it would be way too much work when it's not really needed. 3) I love the newspaper idea. I tend to spend most of my time in the Arena so I never really get to catch up on all the news that has happened on OB. (For example: Naps the Cat) And I certainly am out of the loop when it comes to most of the suggestions for the Otakupedia. I know Des made that gag newspaper some time ago, but that lost steam. I think it would be a great idea if we could get a staff of willing journalists to make one. I even think that a bi-weekly update wouldn't be asking too much. And instead of making it in OB Anthology, it could have it's own special page, where people could discuss articles or requests that they would like... Over-all, I think you did a great job A_M and I hope that some of your ideas are carried through. Of course, like you, I don't know how difficult some of your ideas would be, but if they were relatively easy, then I would be all for No. 1 & 2 as well.

Hmmm. Well I would love to join, but I'm not great at inking things on the computer via PS. I'll still try, but if it doesn't work, I'll have to resort to the old fashioned way. It will be good anyway since I just bought some inking pens and brushes that I've been wanting to use. But the link you provided isn't working for me. I don't know if it's my computer, your link, or the site itself. It says it can't find the server so I'm assuming the site. I'll come back to it in the morning when I get the chance. I may even just hold out until the next generator comes up... Edit:Well, I still don't know how I found the site because I didn't use your link (because it couldn't find the server) and I've never been to that site before, but I just clicked around and I think I got to the right spot. Anyway, here's my description: "This confused girl has slitted gray eyes that are like two pools of mercury. Her silky, straight, sand-colored hair is worn in a style that reminds you of a pair of wings. She has a graceful build. Her skin is ruddy. She has a pointed chin. Her wardrobe is professional, with a lot of black." Now all I have to do is figure out what ruddy skin looks like, haha... EDIT X 2: Well, I did it.... Eh, like I said, I'm new to coloring in Photoshop, so for me, I think it's pretty darn good for my first try... But compared to a bunch of other people I've seen, it sucks big time... *sigh* Anyway, the edges are rough, the shading is strange (first time) the hair doesn't look too great, the eyes were penciled in so much that when I colored it, it didn't show through the charcoal gray color, and yes, I realize that the light source looks like it's coming from a million different places. *sigh agian* Oh well, here it is: On a topic completely serperate, I found out that Ruddy means slighly red or pinkish... I always just thought it was british slang... Naturally when I looked it up, it had both definitions, haha!

Well first, I'd just like to point out that they're not really zombies, haha. Zombies are dead and reborn. The people in this movie are infected with the rage virus. (which is even more freaky since, like James said, it plays a certain role when considering reality) I loved it. I loved the first one so I was a bit worried about seeing another sequel let-down. However, I was pleasantly surprised. There were parts that were a bit unbelievable.
I guess I can understand the mother escaping, but why wouldn't she have already been found? surely she would have went straight to Area 1... After all, right after her infection (which was still in the timeline of the first one; being in the original 28 days) there were probably plenty of refugee camps still functioning... So why did she go off alone? And how did she survive all alone for practically 6 months???
And another thing:
Why in God's name would the kids actually leave the safe area? I don't care how much I missed my family. If I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were dead or infected, and that there was a possibility of dying or worse, I would not risk my life for memories... Seriously, that was just stupidity. I supposed I could see a 10 year-old doing it, but he was 12 and I believe it was the girl who suggested it in the first place. For the sake of the plot, I'll forgive them
Also, the all-access pass... Seriously, I don't see a janitor literally having ALL-ACCESS, but once again for the sake of the movie, I'll forgive them. Other than that, I liked it... Yes, characters were a bit underdeveloped, and I was upset
that only the kids survived. And with the ending scene, that's up to question if they actually made it out completely.
And I thought the Americanization of the movie (if that's a word) was very well played. I like foreign films a lot, and it's fun to pick at different styles in directors, but the fact that the U.S. military were the ones trying to serilize London was increased in believability by the differences in the way it was filmed. It helped me enjoy the movie more. I did notice one inconsistancy: In 28 Weeks they said that one of the things that they knew of the virus was that it could not be passed inter-species, yet in 28 Days, the animal rights activsts clearly became infected when they released the enraged chimps. So either they mean that it can only be passed to monkies and humans (still allowing cross-infection) or they are comparing humans to monkies. (I kid, but I do know a few people who should be compared to monkies) I just think they skipped over that detail in the movie. So that being said, has anybody thought about a 3rd movie? I know I hate trilogies, and I would be totally against a 28 sequel but I just liked the 2nd so much, I don't think I would be able to stand it if there wasn't one. Like it could be 28 Months Later, (which is just over 2 years)
And the virus could have spread throughout the Eastern Hemisphere. Since we already know it took over France, it's safe to assume that the virus cover Europe before moving onto Asia and Africa. The smaller islands would be safe, but there's bound to be more people with the natrual immunity and that would screw things up big time.
I would watch it... granted that they carried through and made it from the perspective of, for example, the largest refugee camp in the world.
possibly stationed on Austraillia or even on Madagascar. And there would be all kinds of nationalities there and...
Well, I don't know, but they could do something if they weren't too repetitive.
I will come and say that there's rumor of a fourth coming out, but I haven't mentioned it because it's not definite. They're discussing doing it, but they're not sure. Originally, there was only to be one movie, then they decided to make it a trilogy. Now they want to do more. And Johnny Depp is ALL for it! I can see it'd work too.
After watching At World's End, you can tell Elizabeth and Will are done because they'd complicate things, especially after it shows them ten years later with a kid and shiz. But they can continue with Jack and Barbossa and the Fountain of Youth.[/spoiler'] Exciting!
Wait wait wait!!!
There's a kid??? I saw the movie just yesterday, and I don't remember there being a kid... In fact, I didn't think it looked like 10 years in the future since they both looked just as young... And why would Will have kept his own heart for 10 years when he could have just given it to Liz from the start? Seriously, I thought it was like the next day. Like it was Will's day on land to signify the exact day in 10 years for his new "job." But nowhere did I see a kid!
Sorry that all had to be in spoilers... Fourth Movie=Crap If they did it, I would have to actively protest it to all of my friends not to go and see it. Trilogies are good, and sometimes they're excellent, but SERIOUSLY!!! Disney needs to quit while they're ahead. Consiering that PotC was their first PG-13 movie ever, maybe they should consider releasing a new movie (or trilogy) that is PG-13 and see how well they can make that. And I completely disagree about Liz and Will. I for one, would be appalled to watch the movie without either one of them. They're what made the movie and to just end their presence in a fourth (even though I'm totally against it) would completely ruin it for a lot of people. (Not everyone's there to see just Depp, you know) EDIT:After reading up a the previous posts I realize that it was all AFTER the credits with the 10 years later and such!!! Why do I never stay after the credits???
Well generic or not Merik is quite dead so you'll need to adjust your post Darren since you indicated that Merik was with Katar instead of Julian Marx. Well with the now dead Katar that is. Oh how the drama continues! :catgirl:
Woops! :animeblus How embarrassing. I saw that I put Merik in there instead of Katar and I went back and changed it all, but I guess I missed one! I'll fix it.
Speaking of men, is it just me, or are we a particularly anti-male bunch of posters? We have three men left currently in active play, and Alcuin, the fourth, is still imprisoned. We have nine females.
Hmmm, I take SunfallE's stance which would be no favoritism. I killed Lillathica the first round and Katar this one... So :p Well I counted 10 and 5... Just for the sake of a list. (even though Beth has already posted a group list, I like them so yippee!) Males 1) Sastasha Sandares (In Dafine's body) 2) Oromis Tu'wail 3) Julian Marx 4) Alcuin nĂ³ Prideux 5) Etamet Females 1) Mary Winters 2) Lucia Travera 3) Nadia Dylenda 4) Eliana Cedes 5) Delita Lytle 6) Dafine Hecata (In Sastasha's body) 7) Serena Scarlatti 8) Delilah Rousseau 9) Meredith Taylor 10) Brittany Cossentine EDIT: I fixed my post. Happy now? Anyway, the only reason why I killed Katar is because I didn't like him. I ususally try to be random with who I kill, but oh well. I just couldn't wait any longer to kill Katar!!! He was getting on my nerves and it seemed that no one else disliked him as much as I did. Not that I was sad to have to kill him, but it just feels like a waste of my card since I had a plan that involved him. :( I had planned on switching Lucia and Katar's mind, (assuming that you were allowed to do that) and then having Mary kill Lucia with the gun she had gotten (or stolen) from Julian. Oh the irony, but it had been forever since someone had posted as group 1 and I was thinking, "Dang, if this were real time, they would have died from the poison a long time ago." In any case, it's probably a safe bet to assume that the ladies will start dropping like flies sometime soon.

Serena was shocked at how quickly things had gone from bad to worse. When she first arrived in the company of this group, she was screamed at, and then whitnessed what she thought could be a potential rape or murder. With the way the young girl in the maid's uniform was acting, it seemed to be one of those. ~~~~ The circular room quickly began filling up with that green gas. And although Katar hadn't taken the time to feel or even comtemplate its effects, his instincts told him that it was poison. At first he covered up his mouth while he searched for an exit, the young black-haired boy simply groaned with pain. His nose wasn't even broken that badly. Katar had the urge to kick him into unconciousness, but resisted. After about five minutes, the fog was growing too thick. The young boy had finally caught on that the gas was poison after he was taken over in a fit of coughing and pulled his shirt passed his nose and mouth. Still Katar hadn't found a way out so he immediately took off his shirt, ripped it in two, and began stuffing the holes. The boy did the same thing, first with his large jacket and then with his shirt. Well this looks look awkward, Katar cursed the situation he had gotten himself into. That's when he noticed it. The exit was just above them the entire time. The very center of the circular room slanted down and met at a point which Katar could easily jump and pull down. ~~~~ The double doors burst open, expelling a large cloud of green gas. Serena instantly saw a shirtless Katar rush out with a piece of cloth over his mouth. And while he may have been a psycho, she didn't want to take the chance of breathing a potentially deadly substance. Where's the girl, she thought to herself. Serena could tell that the girl was thinking the same thing. Katar immediately tried to close the doors, but Mary interviened, kicking and screaming at him, "Where's Lucia? What did you do to her?" Her questions were answered with Katar grabbing her hair and practically throwing her to the side. He struggled to close the doors; they were at least 10 feet tall and easily weighed over 100 pounds. At least that's what Serena thought, but just as he was a few inches from closing them, the girl darted through the opening to save her dear friend, Lucia. Katar just shrugged and started to close them again. "NO!"Serena screamed, looking for help from the other young lady. When none came, she continued, "It's just a little girl. You can't lock her in there." He just ignored her and continued to push the door. Serena stood up enraged at how cruel this man could be. She barely knew him but immediately saw that he could not be trusted, and while she may not be able to stop him, somebody had to try to save the two women inside. Serena pushed Katar away from the door. It was a light push, but one to knock him off balance and against the wall. She could tell that it was possibly the worst thing she could have done. Pure hatred was glaring back at her. Oh great, now I'm going to die, Katar's hands went around her neck and tightened significantly. Serna tried to kick him and punch him, but nothing seemed to effect him. His grip just got tighter and tighter until things started to go black. Serena couldn't breathe and soon if felt like everything was far off in the distance. She sure as hell didn't want that sick freak to be the last thing she ever saw. A loud 'pop' was all she could hear. At first, Serena thought it was the sound of her own neck snapping. It certainly felt like it could break with just a bit more pressure, but just after that, his grip loosened and Serena saw Katar's eyes roll into the back of his head. Katar's lifeless body fell to the ground and Serena fell just shortly after, breathing heavily to get oxygen. When she looked up, she saw Mary dragging an unconcious dark-haired boy and holding a gun. Where would she have gotten a gun? Then, as her own mind drifted off into unconciousness, Serena heard Mary say, "I asked you where Miss Lucia was."
