Okay okay... I've got everything planned. I was going to give Eclipse the chance to post, but I know of something to say. I hope you don't mind if I just go ahead and move Dorian and Eden out of the house, do you Veritas? If not, I won't do it... Anyway, expect a post sometime soon from me. I won't do it tonight because I want to plan out exactly what Tori should say without making her too much like me. (I understand that she needs to stay the character that Vicky had intended)

Sorry about losing the challenge. I was really hoping to gain us another member as opposed to giving the titans ANOTHER member!!! At least we didn't lose anybody, so that's always a good thing. I really didn't think it was much of a fair fight, but I guess there wasn't much else I could do. I was actually hoping to prove myself as captain and the new guy, but that didn't work out. So, now it's time for captain swaps, and I'm a pm to Sandy putting DW as the new captain... I don't really like leadership positions, ya know... Since things are all group decisions, it's great... But I just can't handly having that official title as captain. It feels like I have a huge target on my back. So I hope you re-accept captain DW, or else I'll have to shove it down your throat!!!

I feel like a large portion of this debate was focused more so on Glaucoma treatment, rather than the actual topic at hand: legalizing cannabis. And as my opponent stated that she is very knowlegable in areas concerning glaucoma, I am also just as knowlegable in the area concerning debate. So, just so there's no further confusion about this debate and what we're actually debating about, I'll present you with this common debate term: Prima Facie. It's a Latin word that literally means, "At first glance." It's commonly used in court cases to denote evidence that is sufficient, if not rebutted, to prove a particular proposition or fact. However, in common debates, (such as the one we're in) the term Prima Facie is used to provide the affimative (that's me) with the right to decipher the resolution's meaning themselves as long as it doesn't directly contradict the wording. I would like to say that I know the resolution says plainly, "Legalizing Cannabis." And without the words "for Medical Use," it makes my plan seem insignificant. However, I would also like to point out that the case doesn't say, "Legalizing Cannabis for public consumption." My opponent argues that I'm not within the bounds of the debate because I ignore public consumption and only progress with medical use. But how can I, if I follow the rules which she thought were right, debate about public consumption when that phrase is also absent from the wording. It's topics like these that the word Prima Facie comes into play. Since there are so many aspects that can be debated under simply legalizing cannabis, (and to debate all of them would take more than a few posts on a forum; it would take weeks) it was my job to decide which angle I wanted to take in my opening statement. I chose medical and scientific research, and even after the opening staments were made, my opponent still chose to argue with something that I hadn't even brought up, therefor losing all of those arguements. I really don't have much to else to say, but I will address all the "attacks" that my opponent has made against me: As I said earlier, I feel that the majority of this case has been debated over glaucoma. Even after I asked for sources to prove the contradicting evidence, I still couldn't find any information that my opponent used in her argument about the following information:
When studies on the effects of using marijuana to treat glaucoma were done it was shown that a high dose was required to produce an effect good enough to help reduce IOP in patients. And this required constant inhalation, as much as every three hours. It also only had this effect in about 60-65% of those who used it. Because the amount of marijuana actually required would cause significant side effects, for such a short duration of actual beneficial effects, it was considered a poor treatment and was not recommended for glaucoma treatment. Especially when there are other treatments that not only have fewer side effects but also only require being applied as little as just once a day.
After reading the three sources, I found aboslutely no evidence contradicting my own about how 60-65% of those who used it lowered IOP. Or that patients had to inhale the smoke for up to six hours... Of course I only skimmed through it, so I may have missed it, but I highly doubt that it was a credible source either way, comparing it to my own. My opponent has stated that I have failed to also provide legitimate evidence throughout this debate and I would just like to point out that a lot of my information required little to no evidence at all. As I stated at the end of my arguement, "There's no plausible reason why marijuana should not be legalized for scientific research or medical purposes," with plausible being the operative word. The two sources that I have provided were both credible in their own aspect. By presenting Dr. Weil as a source, I was merely trying to state that people who use marijuana properly, may be affected at first, but that eventually fades away with consistant use. I was never addressing Dr. Weil as a source for Glaucoma treatment. So with everything that I've presented, it takes me back to what I said in my argument: There's no reason why marijuana shouldn't be legalized for scientific research or medical purposes. To legalize it for public consumption would be societal suicide. And now that everything's clear as how I'm perfectly allowed to debate legalization for medical use only, I feel that this is as much as I can possibly say without becoming redundant. I can only urge Sandy to see the huge differences in both of our cases and urge him to give the victory to the LOLs. Thank You.

Hmmm, I'm not sure. The challenges have been so unique so far, it's hard to predict anything that you may come up with. I hope it's nothing too harmful... Or another speed event. (even though you said you never would) Maybe there will be a large challenge where half the players are eliminated... But then we later find out that they've only secretly been waiting to come back and kill us all... Then again, maybe not. (Especially the killing part) I'm with Kitty; I'm too nervous to think strait. I'll keep my mind focused on the current task. DEBATES!

First off, I'm going to have to quote the resolution just so there's absolutely no confusion about this debate hence forth:
Second Debate: Legalizing Cannabis
Nowhere in this statement by Sandy does it state that I must argue to legalize cannabis for public consumption, nor does prevent me from making an arguement based on legalizing it simply for scientific research and medical purposes. Since I'm not contradicting the resolution in any way, you'll find that most of your arguements fall through, since you clearly stated that medical & scientific research was fine as long as it wasn't available for unbounded public consumption.
It?s one thing to make it legal for legitimate medical purposes, but to make it legal for everyone would be irresponsible and dangerous to society as a whole.
Also stated here:
Here?s where the true problem is, it?s one thing to make researching it legal and yet another to make it legal for everyone. It would be irresponsible to simple make it legal when the only real benefits would come from checking it out further for medical reasons. But the push to make it legal is all about putting it in everyone?s hands not just for medical purposes. And though you may be suggesting that you are for making it legal for medical only, the current push is for making it completely legal. Something I do not support since most of the medical reasons given are already addressed by better treatments.
To require me to provide an argument as to why it should be completely legal gives you an unfair advantage. And while I feel that this entire debate catches you on a technicality, you should have been more careful in reading the topic and in choosing your words.
I do not support making Cannabis/Marijuana legal for a number of reasons. For starters it helps to understand just what this substance does to the body. The active ingredient is tetrahydrocannabinol or THC. When introduced to the body it has a wide range of effects that include a sense of well being, relaxation, enhanced sociability, difficulty concentrating, distortions in sense of time, vision and hearing and at high doses, auditory and visual hallucinations. It also increases the heart rate, causes reddening of the eyes, sedation, and increased appetite and decreased muscle tone. As a result problems from using this substance include:
~Impaired memory and ability to learn. ~Difficulty thinking and problem solving. ~Anxiety attacks or feelings of paranoia. ~Impaired muscle coordination and judgment. ~Increased susceptibility to infections. ~Dangerous impairment of driving skills. Studies show that it impairs braking time, attention to traffic signals and other driving behaviors. ~Cardiac problems for people with heart disease or high blood pressure, because marijuana increases the heart rate.
In short the push to make this legal on the basis that it is harmless is a myth. Cannabis/Marijuana is harmful in many ways from memory loss to distorted perceptions, to trouble with thinking and problem solving, young kids and students are the most vulnerable to the damaging effects of using it. It?s one thing to make it legal for legitimate medical purposes, but to make it legal for everyone would be irresponsible and dangerous to society as a whole.
Once again, we're really on the same page here. A lot of these negative side-effects are caused by THC, and I would never wish to damage today's society by putting something like this behind a counter in a convenient store. It's just not logical. Also, in my opening statement, I gave several advantages to legalizing cannabis for research purposes. One being that scientists are sure that only a few of the side-effects are caused by THC. Marijuana is a mysterious plant and there are several possible dirivatives of the plant that could be helpful if we were able to harness them individually. I'm not going to quote the entire passage that you wrote about glaucoma, but I am going to challenge your source. You failed to provide a source to some potentially contradicting evidence. So, to enforce my statement and revoke your own, I'll supply you with some of my own evidence. HERE
Studies in the early 1970s show that marijuana, when smoked, lowers intraocular pressure in people with normal pressure and those with glaucoma. In an effort to determing whether marijuana, or drugs derived from marijuana, might be effective as glaucoma treatement, the National Eye Institue supported research studies from 1978 to 1984. These studies demonstrated that some derivatives of marijuana helped lower intraocular pressure when administered orally, intravenously, or by smoking, but not when topically applied to the eye. However, none of these studies demonstrated that marijuana -- or any of its components -- [B']could safetly and effectively lower intraocular pressure any more than a variety of drugs then on the market.
There's more on the site. I'm sure you'll notice that I bolded several words and phrases in this caption and I'll broaden on that more. derivatives literally means anything that can be derived from marijuana, which means that it didn't have to have the affects of THC. (which is what is causing such a ruckus in all of your statements thus far) The treament worked effectively when smoked, yes. But treatment also worked when used orally or intravenously. Also, the smoked marijuana didn't have to be inhaled for such a long period of time and it didn't have only have that effect on 60-65% of the patients that had this method. Lastly, as quoted, the results showed that using marijuana was no more effective than any other drugs available. This means that it is just as effective as other drugs. Honestly, with the credibility of my source compared to yours, I can only urge Sandy to disregard your statement completely unless you provide me with a proper link. The only thing to address is the possibility of negative side-effects arising, such as lowering blood pressure, while increasing heart-rate. This could pose serious problems for certain people that would be have glaucoma treatment, but just like many other prescription and over-the-counter drugs, they come with warnings and stipulations, such as "You should not take this drug if you are over the age of 40 or have any type of heart disease or history of heart disease in your family." Of course that may not be the exact wording, but I'm sure you can relate that to some sort of drug you have lying around at your house. And in the end, cannabis may wind up not being the best approach to treatment for this particular disease, but as I stated, the progression of technology and science will show that it IS possible to derive a safe drug from marijuana if only they were provided a chance.
Actually that?s not quite right. Users of it may get use to the effects but the actual effect on a person?s system does not change. After you smoke marijuana, its ingredients reach their peak levels in your body within minutes, and effects can last up to an hour and a half. These effects include impairments in learning, memory, perception, and judgment - difficulty speaking, listening effectively, thinking, retaining knowledge, problem solving, and forming concepts are short term effects that occur every single time it is introduced to the system. The same is true if it is eaten instead of smoked. Since when marijuana is eaten as it has to pass through the stomach and intestine and can take up to one hour to experience the "high" effects which can last up to 12 hours. So the only difference is it takes longer for the effects to occur, whether or not the user has ?gotten use? to them. The effects do not disappear or go away after continued use.
All I can do here is provide a comparison: Take alcohol, for instance. You have two guys, both equal in height, weight, build, ect. The only difference is that one man is an alcoholic and the other has never even tasted beer before. If you provide both men with a two shots of vodka, the alcoholic (9 times out of 10) will not be affected at all. Conversely, the new drinker would be pretty tipsy after only one shot. However, that's not to say the internal effects are any different. The alcohol is still running it's natural course on the inside, effecting both men's bodies equally. It's the same with marijuana users. A first time user (or even someone who chooses to smoke it or take too much) would be affected outwardly. It would be obvious to passer-by that he/she was high. But if someone used the drug properly, (which is what my plan aims to achieve through medical usage only) they wouldn't display any effects at all. And if the drug were legalized for research, we wouldn't even have to worry about the potential interal effects. Your argument for combining marijuana and alcohol falls through since you addressed it as a problem for recreational use. Since that's not the kind of legalization I'm speaking of, it's not really important for me to address it.
The distinction here, other than the alcohol one as I?ve already addressed it, is sleeping pills or muscle relaxants are not killers if taken according to intended dosage. But rather can result in death due to overdose or combining them with other drugs or substances like alcohol, which they were not intended to be taken with.
There's a double standard here. If muscle relaxants and sleeping pills are safe when taken in the recommended dosage, and you've seen the evidence that I've provided, then who's to say that if you take marijuana in the reccomended dosage that it won't cause problems? And speaking of prescription medications: I'm not even talking about them being mixed with alcohol. That's why most muscle relaxants and sleeping pills have a clear warning that says something along the lines of, "you should not operate machinery or drive until you know how [this drug] effects you." Hypothetically speaking, if cannabis were to be legalized for medical purposes, there wouldn't be a problem if it were labeled like that as well. And even if a user did mix the prescription medication or take too much of it, it doesn't make the drug any less legal. It just makes it the user's fault if he/she causes injury or death. However, if it were the latter scenario, I can definately say the user wouldn't be thrown in jail for falling asleep at the wheel. In the end, my stance still remains without opposition: There's no plausible reason why cannabis/marijuana shouldn't be legalized for scientific research or medical purposes. It's already been proven to help with a number of diseases and ailments. With the proper research, scientists can identify the exact compound that's causing certain effects and utilize these compounds to prevent negative outcomes. Furthermore, if marijuana dirivatives were introduced in small doses for medical purposes, it would provide a very affective drug that aids in the recovery of literally hundreds of illnesses. It's imperitave to look at the big picture in order to see all the benifits that could come from legalizing this drug. If you do that, you'll see that the good things far outweigh the bad.

Same here. I'll do my best to introduce Tori more, since Vicky gave me the go-ahead. That should place both her and possibly Brian at the scene. (But that's not a guarentee. There would be some major conflicts with his character that couldn't be avoided if he saw Dorian apparently kill Cairo) Anyway, I'll get that up soon, but it will have to be after Eclipse's post... For timeline reasons, I don't want to until after she's gone, but it's no rush since Ikillion's not here right now and Vicky's a bit crazy at the moment... Not to worry, D!

Oh yes, I wish we could debate together like in CX... (I'm assuming that you know what that is since you were in that class) Question: Did you perform in NFL or something else? I noticed that you used the term "Duo," and the only time that we ever get to perform a duo is when our school goes to NFL districts. See, we're under OSSAA, "Oklahoma something or another, that I forgot what it really means" and that's what we actually compete in throughout the entire year. In OSSAA, we get to perform Duets. And they can be either humorous or dramatic. (as opposed to just lumping them all together in one category) However, we can't get to nationals through OSSAA, only state. :( Ah well, on to seriousness: For my arguements, (which I plan on posting tomorrow, after I send you two the rough drafts) should I go into debate mode. Sandy did say that language used plays an important role in victory, and I feel that this would help, but I also feel that the words I use would be lost on everyone, and would work against me since not everyone in OB Survivor is a "master debater." Haha. I've already got several of my arguements written down. I'm just waiting for a message back from Sandy before I accidentally break the rules. Yay! Some of my favorite bands! Yes, TBS isn't extremely high on the list. Yes, I had heard of them before, but I didn't actually start listening to them until I found out they had connections with Straylight Run. And I really only like a few songs from them, so to actually say that they're tied would be an unfair statement. I guess TBS runs a close 6th place. And that will probably change soon anyways, because I have phases. There are years where I'll like one band and the next, I'll hardly ever listen to them again. It's only the bands that I listen to continually over the years (like all the one's I listed except Auto Escape and TBS) that I actually get to stay in my faves. Oh and yes, Auto Escape does have a myspace. I love that site. I listen to music on there 99.9% of the time, it's great. I'll link it: Auto Escape Unfortunately, the band doesn't have the acoustic version to that song I mentioned... Only the second version. But that's okay, it's equally good, but in a different way. I guess I just like the acoustic sounds. I can't help but still love Green Day's "Time of your Life," just because I love the tune... And I understand why it would be played to death as a senior song... That's why I hope no one does that for my senior year next year. I can't help but like that coffee-shop-esque (I just made that up. Deal with it) style music. Just a few of my other favorites, (but not nearly limited to) include: The Bravery The Academy Is... Snow Patrol Temposhark (British Electronica, YAY!) Ted Leo and the Pharmacists Amublance LTD Jack's Mannequin & Paolo Nutini (British/Scottish Soul  ) ~~~~~~~~~EDIT~~~~~~~~~~~ I had to go ahead and post my argument. I would have taken the time to send it to both of you in PM form, but I didn't have access to a computer tonight until extremely late. So, since I needed to get it up before I went to bed (which is where I'm supposed to be right now) I just had to write it quickly and post it. Unfortunately, there are probably a vast amount of grammatical and spelling errors. As I've stated, I'm tired, and I was rushed. However, I think that my argument was good enough that all minor errors should be overlooked. At least I'm hoping. :animeswea

Well, unfortunately, I don't actually enjoy debate, but-- Oh wait, I get it; sex jokes, haha (toot my horn, that's dirty) :D Anyway, on with my statement: I really don't like debate. It's just something that comes easy for me... I'm actually considering dropping out of deabte at school; It's just not there for me, and my partner is always nagging, (because it's 2-person debates; policy) and we don't really get along, and I don't really like the format that's required of debate. I like a free format, "open forum" kind of debate, where just about anything goes... It lets you think on your feet. I may just switch to 1-person debate and see if one less nagging partner will spark my interest again. Really, I guess the only reason why I haven't quit yet is because I like the National Forensics League (NFL) points! I get so many for every round of debate... It help boost my ranking in the class and it allows me to go to certain events that other people with lesser points can't go to... Then, when it comes time for important issues in speech/drama/debate, (such as deciding where we want to eat after a tournament) my vote counts for about 3 since I have a rank of excellence. It's great to have power! Muahaha. Thanks on the compliment, either way you sick perv. And back to the music... I can't really recall a lot of Waking Ashland, but I used to download a lot of their songs... I guess I lost interest, but what I remember was great. And I just recently bought that New Aqualung CD. It's pretty good... I'm actually saving up for Wincing the Night Away since I just spent all my cash. I'm sure the Shins won't let me down.

Cannabis is a type of flowering plant that can be found across the globe. Its common name is hemp, but there are several types of cannabis that produce compounds called cannabinoids. These types often produce mental and/or physiological effects when consumed. Many jump to the conclusion that cannabinoids are harmful to the system, but what they fail to take into account is that Cannabis/Marijuana can be a powerful medical drug, and if it were legalized, research has shown that it can be useful for many things without the effects of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) on the system. We all know that marijuana is a powerful pain killer, but what about its other treatments? What would normally be viewed as harmful, such as lowering blood pressure, is the preferred treatment of Glaucoma patients for its ability to lower pressure to the eye. Also, Cannabis has been proven to help with analgesia, neurological and movement disorders, cancer-related disorders, and cachexia among others. However, THC is what is causing such a problem for many people across the world. THC is the main ingredient that causes such an extreme euphoria for marijuana users, but scientists have stated that should marijuana be legalized, they would have complete access to study the plant and its genetic make-up. Scientists believe that many of the negative effects of cannabis could be avoided, especially in the medical field, if they were allowed to study it better and discover just what was causing all these side-effects, since THC is only responsible for neurological symptoms. Lastly, research has shown that many of the effects of THC occurs when taken for the first time, or in excessive quantities. Cannabis is just like every other prescription drug out there in that you shouldn?t operate a car or do heavy lifting until you know how the drug affects you. Dr. Andrew Weil solidifies this statement in his book, The Natural Mind. ?There are three conditions under which marijuana can be shown to impair general psychological performance in users. They are: 1. By giving it to people who have never had it before; 2. By giving people very high doses that they are not used to (or giving it orally to people used to smoking it); and 3. By giving people very hard things to do, especially things that they have never had a chance to practice while under the influence of the drug.? Dr. Weil goes on to say that cannabis/marijuana is only tested on subjects that fall into these three categories, and that, in fact, many users get used to the psychological effects after two or three times. Also, taking the right dosage and not smoking cannabis plays a key role in preventing negative side-effects. In conclusion, marijuana is used illegally across the globe, and it still hasn?t even gotten close to the death rate of alcohol or other prescription medication, such as sleeping pills or muscle relaxers. If we?re worried about the effects of Cannabis, why don?t we make everything that impairs our judgment illegal? Taking alcohol out of the picture would certainly lower the deaths on the road. What?s so horrible about this double standard is that Cannabis is actually potentially helpful on many levels besides pain, and as the researchers say, there are many things about cannabis, besides THC, that could help if they were only allowed to study it more. In no way am I suggesting that we legalize cannabis on a large scale, making it available for everyone. I?m simply pointing out that for the benefit of health and medicine, as well as the people, it would greatly improve our society to legalize cannabis/marijuana for prescription medical purposes.

I also like the idea of sending his mind to an alternate deminsion without actually killing him... But now the idea of torture has grown on me so I'm still for that as well. So I guess it all fits perfectly... I was planning on posting, but I never head back from Vicky... What about PrinceVan and Ezekiel??? Are they still playing? I was going to post about Brian looking for at least one of them... It gives me the chance to move the story along. So how about it? Are they in or out?
-
I just finished my opening statement... I sent it to both of you via PM. Tell me what you think, but most importantly, check any grammatical errors for me. I tend to mix up "affect" and "effect." I think it's pretty good. By the way, I decided to abandon the other reason for marijuana legalization... It wasn't a strong enough argument and it would have clouded my main points. Also, it would have just made me seem dumb. So, in case you were wondering, I was going to take the approach of religion... Okay, let me know how you guys feel about it.

Oh boy! Top 5! 1. Green Day But I'm not a poser GD fan... I've really been listening to them since I was little and it really makes me mad when people come up and quiz me about my favorite song or what the band members' names are... Of course, it's fun to rub it in their faces when I know more about Green Day than they do... So no, I don't think they sold out, and I love all of their stuff except for a few songs from the new album. creative freedom is all I have to say about that... If it weren't for that, we never would have seen The Network, which is highly entertaining, even though they'll never admit to creating it. Favorite song (by album): 1,039 Smoothed/Out Slappy Hour: Green Day Kerplunk: Christy Road & Who Wrote Holden Caulfield? Dookie: Basket Case Insomniac: Walking Contradiction Nimrod: Hitchin' a Ride & Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) Warning: Warning American Idiot: Give Me Novacaine, Homecomeing, & Wake Me Up When September Ends 2. Jimmy Eat World I've been a fan for a long time. Favorite song: Work & Lucky Denver Mint! 3. Auto Escape They're a local underground band from Dallas, TX... But I seriously think they'll make it big with their next album. (which they're working on right now. I can't wait!) Favorite Song: Falling Asleep in the Snow (Acoustic Version) 4. Dashboard Confessional What can I say? They're a great band... And they're great people. I actually got to meet them in concert..... HERE and HERE and HERE and... HERE! Be warned, that this is after the concert; after I had been thrown around and crowd surfed during Brand New's performance. Favorite Song: Vindicated, Stolen, & Hands Down 5. Is a toss-up between Taking Back Sunday and Straylight Run... Both of those bands have had such close ties with each other that I love them both equally... Even though they couldn't sound more different. Favorite Song by TBS: MakeDamnSure Straylight Run: Existentialism on Prom Night But this isn't what my musical taste is limited to... I like just about anything, and by the way DW, I love the shins! Onto things that matter: I've done a bit of research and found 75 pages worth of reasons why Marajuana should be legalized. And not all of it has to deal with medical purposes, but I won't state what it is, so I can keep the enemy on their toes. Anyway, as soon as I make sense of all of the info, I'll go through and present my opening statement. Would any of you like a roughdraft before I post it, so you can help with grammatical errors or whatever else would be helpful?
-
Okay fine, I'll do it. Oh boy, I guess I should go and do my research now, before I have to make my opening statement... But, I also like Panic! at the Disco... Not as much as my friend. (She's obsessed) They're definately good. my favorite song is "But it's Better if You Do." How about you guys?
-
Well I could always take it, but I don't think it would be very captain like of me to do it without consulting Kitty first. I suppose I shouldn't hold up the game though... So, I'll wait until the Titans make their decision. If I haven't heard back from her by then, then I'll just have to take it myself. *ugh* And just like you, I can't think of anything good except for medical purposes, although I guess that's a good point to build a case over. Whatever works.

Wedding!!! Oh, yes... I love indie films, and I love making them even more. For my film class, we have to make an indipendent film preview... But I'm not satisfied with just a preview so I'm making the whole thing. I'm still learning about all of it, considering that I just got my camcorder for christmas (and that's all that's avaiable) and the editing system I have at school isn't too snazy, but I love to make them, whether it turns out crap or not. But now, it seems our time has come to test our debating skills. It seems that we're trying to leagalize Cannabis, hehe... Well, since hemp isn't exactly illegal in the states, I'm assuming Sandy meant specifically marajuana. Now it's up to whoever wants to take it... Personally, I really want to get Kitty's opinion on the matter first. Since she said that she isn't the strongest debater, I think that we should find something that she feels passionate about and let her go for it. (Not that I'm implying Kitty's a pot-head, haha) If not, I don't think I would be all too willing to take this one... I find it hard to think of anything good that could come of leagalizing "cannibis." And that would only hinder me in making an effective argument... I'm not saying I wouldn't debate this, (I can debate a brick wall about how it's blocking the sun) but I'm saying it might not be a guarenteed victory. *shrugs* so how do you guys feel?

It sounds interesting enough. Personally, I'm a fan of Tsubasa so when I saw "Dragonfly Race," I knew immediately what the RP was about. I see it's not so much based on the manga, so I assume that the characters from the comic won't be mentioned at all? It sounds like a good RPG, but how long would the RP be? A racing RPG might not be the best in the world to plan out a full plot that could last 6 months, you know? People would want to sign up for the racing... If it just seemed like you were trying to milk it as long as you could, the RP would die really quickly... I don't speak for everyone, but sometimes shorter is better. Either way, I like it... I would join! :D

Well I am on OB a lot, but eh, it was a good script so I can't complain. Sandy said that the debates should take a while to finish so we should keep ourselves entertained... Hmmm, any ideas becasue it seems to be dead space here. Some questions, maybe?

*haha, I have a fangirl now* Actually, (and don't take this the wrong way) I was also thinking of Dorian being the one to unknowingly help in Cairo's death... I would have thought Eddie as well, but he's already had enough trauma... It's Dorian's turn. Personally, I would put up Brian, but he's not the type to help at all. He would proably try to stop the murderers... I think that Dorian and Zane would be fine for the job, and if Rev wants Juliet there, then hey, one more sadist present! That's always a plus! Before I can even suggest a way to kill him without passing the "gift" on to someone else, I supposed I should know a bit about the importance of the powers... But I know that would ruin it for some. So, I gladly accept the offer to take Quan's sis... I got a good enough personality read off of that one post that Vicky made. (that's how cool you are Vicky. Nifty!) So I think I can help develop it a bit more. As for the name, I'm fine with Tori as well... Although I know a few Tori's and they are anything but "good." EDIT: I was thinking about your post, Vicky... What stops the "Good Guys" from going and telling the cops themselves. I guess it makes sense that they wouldn't just because they were there, and could become suspects... Especially Eddie, since technically, it was his doing. Also, how does Cairo know??? I know that being a delivery boy to the jail at the beginning (I think that's what he was) gave some motive as to why he knows people from the jail... ( I can't recall exactly, because it was so long ago, but didn't Cairo have some kind of friendship with one of the cops?) And that brings me to my next question for Rev: I know that Juliet is "bad," but it's like I said earlier, she seems to have a heart. She doesn't like to be touched, hinting on something bad about her past. and then there's the fact that she's so powerful and she seems to be friends (or at least have connections) with one of the cops. (Which leads me to believe that she had done time and befriended the cop while she was getting her act together. Maybe her dislike of being touched has something to do with it, I don't know. I'm sure I'll find out) But with all of that being said, am I totally off mark here? Because if I am, I'll shut up now. But if not, it doesn't really make sense for Juliet to be torturing/killing someone... (Not that I'm trying to tell you what your character is like... I'm just trying to put the peices together)
Although, last time we killed off a person we had that person replaced. Will we be doing a similar thing this time Vicky?
When I asked that question just before we had officially written off Cat, Vicky said that it would be too hard to continue looking for people to do that... I assume that it will be a NPC that may or may not have an important roll in the future of the RP, but that's just what I got from it... I apologize if that's not right, Vicky.
Although on the though of killing him. If nobody else really wants to I'll do it. I really feel like being creative AKA making his insides come on the outside and vice versa.
As for deaths: I appreciate a hostel-esque murder just as much as the next depraved person in the world, but this would be hard to do, right? I mean, none of our characters really have the abilities to rip someone's organs out. Since you mentioned that there may be torture before the actual killing occurs, I guess that could work... And (baddies don't be offended) I suppose Zane would be the most logical choice to do it. From what I've read of Charles, Dani, and Juliet, they all have a heart; they just don't seem the type to want to torture someone... (But Juliet's character confuses me at times, so I could be wrong on that one) I guess Zane or Juliet would be a great choice for torture and gruesome deaths. But I still stick by my decision that one of the good guys should do, just to show how much control Quan really has over them all. It could wind up being a major wake-up call for all the good guys.

It's a week overdue, but I finally posted! I would have done it sooner, but I was on a speech/debate tourney and I just got back a couple of hours ago. I'm sure my scatter-braininess (if that's a word) shows through in my post, so I apologize in advance. I do think I managed to accomplish something though: The search for Cairo. I thought about it, and Cairo really hasn't had much interaction with anyone, so no one really knows that he's a gifted/cursed one besides hunches. Anyway, I thought that this moved the story along better and it opens things for Beth to get involved again... I guess I'm done. Oh, deaths... I'm not so sure it should be Charles and Eddie again. It just seems like they're the only two who's doing the killing, (which is fine) but I figured that to really show off how much Quan is toying and controlling these guys, we could have a "good guy" accidentally kill the person. I don't mean accidental like Eddie killing Cat. I mean like them purposfully doing it, but under a misunderstanding, ya know. We could even have the new girl, Bella, do it just to show how creul Quan really is.

It was actually pretty early for everyone to be going to bed. Brian liked staying up at night, but figured that since he would be living with other people now, he didn't have much of a choice. Eddie slept in a sleeping bag on the floor somewhere in the entrance area of the house. Bella and Eden took one air mattress and set it up in what Brian could only guess to be the living room. The other mattress was left for two other guys and after that, the only sleep available would be on the antique sofa which was ripped open and missing a lot of its stuffing. Fighting to the death wasn't really necessary, but it did provide a laugh for the group; something none of them had heard in a long time. Since Brian liked to stay up late, he didn't mind giving up the mattress to Moses and Dorian. He was too restless to sleep anyway. He went outside and set down on the steps. The chill night air was beginning to get worse, but it didn't affect his thought process. Brian couldn't help but think about everything that had happened recently: All of these people with 'abilities' just happening to meet up in a random location, then get arrested, and then one girl dies just after they see Quan for the first time. "Cat," he sighed. Brian felt like he was the most responsible for Cat's death: He was the closest person to her guardian at the time and he couldn't even keep her alive. He wondered whether she had any family and if they had found out that they would never see their daughter agian. He couldn't imagine what Eddie must have been going through. Despite all his rage and self pity, he kept coming back to Quan. The name alone was enough incentive for Brian not to trust him. A girl died just after meeting him and then Brian saw him agian just after he was kicked out of his hotel. One thing that he had known from the very beginning is that this Quan character was not to be trusted. However, with the way the group was talking about things earlier, Brian was trying to devise a plan to convince the others of Quan's motives. "What are you thinking about?" Dorian interrupted his train of thought. He came and sat down beside Brian. Even though the sun had completely set an hour or two ago, Dorian was still wearing those shades. "Cat," he said. "I can't shake the thought of how she died and what she died for. She was so young. Why should she have been the one to go?" "I don't know," he replied. It was a fair enough answer. "All of this is so fucked up but we can't go on assigning blame to anyone... Even ourselves. We're here together for a reason and we have to get through it together. How do you think I feel about all this? I'm the one that originally pulled Cat back into the building and that rests on my shoulders. How do you think Eddie is doing? He can't control his powers and ultimately it was his power that ended her life." "Don't you mean his curse?" Brian retorted. Nothing that they could have been given that ended lives could be considered good. Dorian looked like he was about to reply, but stopped. Brian changed the subject. "That's another thing: How do we even know that we can trust Quan. Every time I see him, something bad is either about to happen or has already happened. He doesn't seem very trustworthy and I don't know about you but I don't like being a pawn." "Right now we don't really have a choice." Eden interrupted. Apparently their conversation had woken her up. "I'm not saying we just accept the fact that he's helping us. Personally, I don't think he is, but what choice do we have? We're here and we can't deny the fact that Quan put us here, whether his intentions are good or not." She finished as she sat down on the steps in between Brian and Dorian The three of them stayed up for a bit longer, remembering the few moments they had shared with Cat. They actually got so loud at one point, they woke up Moses and he joined their conversation. Around 1:00 am, Brian finally decided to go to bed on the rickety sofa. He was surprised that a spring didn't come bursting from the coushin. He ran over everything in his head again when he realized that someone was missing. He hadn't really bothered to pay much attention before, but now that he thought about it, that Beth girl was missing. He remembered that Moses said something about seeing her, so it was safe to say that she was alive, but it still left one question: Where's the 13? It was made clear to the group at the museum that it was very possible to have a thirteenth zodiac and with what Dorian and Eddie described about the fire, Brian guessed that Juliet was that special someone. They left only one. Brian didn't know about the others, but he was sure that he would be out searching for them first thing in the morning.

YAY! I think this is a great great great chapter. I love it... And for names: How about Lynn??? It's short, sweet, and still has that mysterious touch to it like Quan's name. I have some ideas for her, but I don't want to just step up and take the roll, if other people might be better for it.... Whatever you think, Vicky. It was right on the money for you winning a Nifty award because you're exactly that. As for deaths, I'm clean out, what with our brutal screenplay that we had to write for OB:Survivor... Sorry, but if someone can come up with an idea, I can probably help develop it. That's all, except for a post from me. I know I said that I would do it on Monday, but I just couldn't get motivated. Not anymore though; With a post like that from you, I have loads of ideas and creativity to write about. Thanks!

I think Sandy gets too much enjoyment out of this whole thing. Hey team, I guess I'm your new captain... :animeshy: Hopefully we'll change that after this round is over. I really don't know a lot of either of you, being that I'm still somewhat of a noob to OB, but I know of you, and that's the important thing... All I know is that Kitty is supposed to be a darned good graphics artist and that DW is an all-around a jack-- I mean cool guy. :D I've really only seen Kitty in the OtaKuties boards and I hear tons about DW every time I browse the boards; You're everywhere, man... So hopefully this won't be too awkward and we'll be able to get along just fine. I suppose that if there was any time for me to be captain, it would be now: I love debate... I've only debated policy in school, but I practice on my parents all the time. :catgirl: So hopefully, that will be able to shine through here. I'm glad that we don't have to go this first round... That way, I'll have the chance of getting to know both of you before we run in and I put us in a bad order and screw things up. *no pressure* :animeswea On to an intro: I've already posted my intro on Mercenaries site, but I dont' feel like using the same one... So I'll just come up with one on my own. Sorry if I jump around a lot. I don't think on a set path. My name is Darren, I'm 16... I live in the middle of nowhere and I'm constantly bored out of my mind. My love for music is only surpassed by my love for the theatre. I hope to be an actor some day soon. I don't play many sports but I jump hurdles for track, (when I actually have time) and I swim. (not competitively) Since both of those are summer sports, I have a lot of spare time in seasons like this one. Sorry-- :animeangr -- I was going to try to make a new intro that was different from the Mercenaries one that I did, but it seems to be staying the same... So I'll just stop here, and let you guys ask questions if you really want to know something. (I understand if you don't; I know I'm not that interesting) Oh, by the way, I really hope that you don't perceive me the way you drew me out on your screenplay, DW... I don't think I'm annoying most of the time. Also, since we're supposed to be preparing for a debate, does anyone have experience or are we just going to be awesome noobs? I'm fine with either, since with what I've seen on OB Survivor so far from you two is far beyond my own awesomness. Anyway, let me know. :animesigh

Okay... I guess it's final, then... I'm starting to regret my decision, haha, but I hope it doesn't turn out negatively for the team or for myself. Wiss me luck! :animeswea *crosses fingers* -Darren

For the next challenge, we need a voluenteer. I humbly submit my name. I don't want to take the chance of it being something negative and losing our captain, so just tell me how you guys feel about the "victim"
