Ah well, we?ll do better in the next round. I feel bad that we had to vote someone off so early when we didn't need to. I think our idea just wasn't clear enough... I also think that we have the most diverse team and we were hurt by how slow we bonded. So in an effort to improve this matter... MORE QUESTIONS! What?s your favorite memory ever? (Just a sweet moment in your life) My dad gets free passes to an amusement park called Frontier City every summer. Since my uncle gets them as well, it?s always been a big family tradition to go and have a lot of fun. One year, we found out that my Uncle?s family couldn?t go and my mom didn?t want to go so we had four extra tickets. (Since my dad, brother, and I went) So my dad let me and my brother invite two friends each and we all carpooled down there. The amusement park itself wasn?t my favorite memory. Rather, it?s the trip there and back. There were lots of music, rough-housing, and of course food and farting jokes. After the trip, a lot of inside jokes carried over to school and people caught on to them. (even though they didn?t know what the jokes meant, haha) It was the one time in my life where I felt nothing but happiness! And even now, three years later, people are still doing our inside joke without knowing what it means. They don?t even know who started, but the six of us that went that weekend will always know.

*Cool, I like* I might jump around a lot. I'm just writing the things that stick out to me the most. Let's see: I was born in a small northern town in Kansas. It was a dying town. The only way you could survive is if you owned farmland or cattle. Businesses came and then went bankrupt in about a month. The only things that survived was the grocery store, hospital, school, fast-food resturaunts, and the movie theatre. (which only played 2 movies) I was actually born in the hospital there and I believe that I lived a pretty normal life while I was there. My parents said that before I was a year old, I was speaking. I would say things like "look, puppy" or I would point to something and say, "Want." For the first 6 years of my life, 16 members of my family (outside of immediate family) lived in town with me. My parents bought property for their business for 1$!!! My dad built a 3-D maze out of cardboard boxes down in the basement of his business and me, my brother, and my cousin would always go down there and play tag. I almost died at 5 years old from swallowing a bead to a necklace. My older cousing would baby-sit my brother and I along with her little sister. (the one that played tag with me) She once tricked us into believing that her house was haunted. She also once convinced me that I was turning into a dog... My parents always used to watch scary movies and I was subjected to them since I was in the womb probably. And don't think that makes me brave: I had to hide behind the chair when "Tales from the Crypt" came on. When I started pre-school is the first time I remember having friends. My mom and the other mothers would pick up the kids each week. I remember one of the kid's mom had a cool van and there was a compartment in the back where about 3 five year olds could hide. That's where I remember my first friend. His name was Austin, but that's about it. (Besides that he always wore a Troy Aikman jersey) When I got to Kindergarten, there's one day where a person from Pre-school can come up and spend the day with you. My cousin (the one who played tag with me in the cardboard boxes) came to visit, but the sixth grade band came through and she didn't know any better so she ran out into the hallway. It looked as though she'd been swallowed by a river of brass and tall people. I followed... :D Then I ran into a rather large girl who looked like she was about to hit me with her trumbone... It was odd. I met this couple that was dating and they were a couple years older than me. Their names were Laura and Brian. It stuck out to me because my aunt and uncle's names are the same. They were fun to hang out with, but that's when I got into my first fight... I lost miserably, but it wasn't really a fair fight. I got blindsided and plus Brian was two years older. (He was jealous) I went to Disney World... And I got lost in Disney World! What's worse, I lost my micky mouse stuffed animal. :( My dad's business had to close. (of course) and so we moved eight hours away to another a big city in Arkansas, but we only lived there for a year because my parents didn't like the size. I personally loved it: I had my first girlfriend and I was popular. (As popular as a 7 year old could be. You know how that goes) We moved about 30 minutes away from there to another small town in Oklahoma and that's where I am currently. I grew up a lot here. I was really liked at a young age, whereas my brother was not. I had a lot of friends, including my first memorable one. After about a year, I had a lot of friends but only 5 could be considered close. Many more girlfriends, all of whom dumped me, haha. There was so much glamour about my time in elementary school that I don't think it's possible for any of it to have affected my life now. I was a bit dorky, but I was always the funny guy and I was still popular. I vacationed in New York City about 6 months after 9/11. I loved the big city! Then came Junior High: that's where everything went downhill. Once everyone hits puberty, they turn into jerks. People just had to find someone to pick on and since I was one of the few who was slightly on the dorky side and didn't play sports, they chose me. (I actually did play sports, but not very well so I quit after the first year)of my 5 friends: 3 quit talking to me altogether. (The became sports jocks or druggies and didn't want to have anything to do with me) That left only the three amigos: Myself and my two closest buddies. There was another that was jealous because he was the odd man out so he always tried to get us in trouble. He even spread rumors about me having sex with this girl that I knew. I kicked his ***, shortly after he picked up Tae Kwan Do and kicked my ***. We're friends now, haha.My favorite teacher was my 7th grade english teacher. She was also the drama teacher and that's how I got involved in that. I starred in my eighth grade play and every one since then. I've known that I want to be an actor ever since 7th grade. In 9th grade, my absolute best friend moved away and there was only me and another. Then we got into an argument and since it was close to summer, I never had a chance to apologize. He killed himself that summer. That's when I was alone. I conciously knew I was changing my personality from dorky and slightly popular to something altogether different. I became dependant on music! I let my hair grow out and began wearing nothing but black. I stopped caring what others felt about me. I actually like conflict so I intentionally dressed that way to get attention. And then when people would say something about me, I would do something about it. I've been kicked out of school once for "terroristic threatening," But it was during the summer time so my mom called the school and griped them out. (By the way, all I said was that I was going to beat the kid up but his mom works at the school so she told them that I was going to kill him. It was dumb really, but he was making fun of my friend that passed away) In the end, my brother and I changed places. There's so much that affected me, I'll just tell you what I think about that so you don't have to come up with conclusions yourself. *Gah, I'm rambling* 1) I hate small towns because I've lived in one practically all my life. I've also visited Orlando, NYC, London, and Paris and I foudn that I love the big city. 2) I've always love talking. My communication skills came at an early age obviously and from there, my interest in reading, writing, acting, poetry, all that jazz started. 3) I don't wear necklaces. It really doesn't feel comfortable to me, but I like to say it's because I almost choked on a bead when I was little. :D 4) I'm not big on family because I've lived a large portion of my life with a huge family and I didn't like it that much. They tend to be bigger jerks than so called bullies. And that's probably why I never want kids. 5)My two favorite games as a child were tag and hide and seek. This was because, they were the most fun for me when I got to play tag in cardbard boxes. 6) I love scary stuff as long as it doesn't have to do with dead people or ghosts. The cryptkeeper still gives me nightmares just thinking about him popping up out of his coffin and laughing. It's just creepy. 7) I hate trumbone players. Every time I watch them play, I can't help but think they're about to beat me over the head with it. 8) I hate fist fights, (I've only been in 3) and I'm hard to make angry. But when you've had it, you've had it. Besides I can't fight anyway. 9) I hate being alone, (I'm relating this to the fact that I got lost in Disney World for a few hours) but I hate people in general. (This is because everyone that I've ever liked or respected have left me in one way or another or they make fun of me) 10) I feel sorry for younger kids because they're too naive to know what's coming up. I especially feel sorry for the ones that are unlucky enough to be the victim of all the jokes. 11) I'm not athletic. That's simply because I'm lazy and get enough sports watching my brother play or my dad talk about it constantly. It just gets a little redundant. Especially football. 12) I want to be an actor when I get older. I know 100% that I'm moving to L.A. when I graduate. 13) I don't believe in God because of all the cruelty and hipocracy I've seen through church officials. When my friend passed away, they actually told us that he was in Hell! There was so much more than that, but I'll spare you the details. 14) I listen to music constantly because it helps me think and it gives me an excuse not to listen to people. (see above: I hate people) 15) I like the color black. I don't know why, but I'm sure it has something to do with my past. I like other colors such as gray and blue, (sometimes brown) but not really. I also love pinstripes. 16) I've been identified as different, so I give people a reason to think that. I definately dress differently: It's a cross between a skater, emo, and punk rocker. 17) I hate conflict (See above: I hate fist fights) even though I say I like it. I guess I just like watching it between others. Generally I'm a pascifist and if I ever get the chance, I want to help people. (Not the ones I hate; innocent people in third world countries) 18) I'm motivated to succeed. I want to prove everyone in my class wrong and be the richest or most successful at the 10 year reunion. That's probably why I'm determined to be the valedictrian as well. Currently I'm second, but I'm closing in. I was looking to get 20, but I don't think I can seeing as I'm already staring to repeat myself slightly. Oh well.

Okay, my only question: Are all three losing teams going to have to vote someone off every single time? Or is this just a one time thing? I was just wondering because it doesn't seem like this will last very long if that's the case. I'm sure you've got all kinds of twists and turns planned, but is there ever going to be a round where only the 4th place team loses a member?

Brian sat down on the curb after he got off the phone with Eden. It was weird having to call someone who he'd only met about a week ago. He was staring in to his hands, trying to ignore the pain in his head, when Eden drove up in a tiny two-door car. Brian was all the more embarrassed when she made an exasperated expression when looking at his luggage. "Great. Spoiled LA kid carrying aound two suitcases. Now I know where the stereotype comes from." In fact he didn't need half of it, but that was what Hal had packed for him and now he was stuck with it after he got kicked out of his hotel. It was so strange that his card wasn't working and that Quan drove by just shortly after. He seemed to be pulling the strings and if there's one thing that Brian hated, it was the feeling of being controlled. But there was nothing he could do about it now; he had been thurst onto the street with nowhere to go and Eden seemed to be his only option. Now, he was trying to find room in her tiny car. "Sorry about this," he said as he got in the passenger side. Brian hated relying on others. "It's no problem," Eden replied. She sighed before putting the car in drive. She didn't act like it was an inconvenience to her, but it still seemed like something was bothering her. "So what did you have in mind for tonight?" It had just occured to Brian that he basically asked her for a ride without even telling her that he had no place to live. And when she showed up, he was sitting on the corner like some sad puppy for sale. She probably thought he was using her. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to put you on the spot, but I'm new to town, and something happened to my card; I guess it ran out of cash... And you're the only person I know in town so I called you." He looked down into his hands. The setting sun was shining into his eyes making his head ache even more. "Well I'm sorry Brian," Eden sounded distant. It seemed like she didn't really care. Or maybe her mind was elsewhere. Then, "It's odd because I've been thown out of my apartment as well. It looks like we're both on the streets." "that would explain all the bags of clothes," Brian had just thought she was an extremely high-matinence person, but she was in the same boat as him. Once again, this seemed like someone was pulling strings. Both of them were homeless and had nowhere to go. Brian was about to speak but was interrupted, "It looks like we know what we're doing tonight." He was thrown off by her comment, but then she clarified, "We're looking for a house." The two had been driving around for a couple of hours, checking out houses. Their first stop was the news stand. They had to pick up a newspaper for listings. Eden called someone for advice on her money. There was arguing between both sides of the phone. It seemed that the person on the other line (Brian assumed it to ber her parents) didn't want her to leave. Eden's response was that she was being suffocated and that she would still see them, but there was no way in hell she was going to live with them. All the houses they'd picked out were awful. They were either too small or too expensive. Nearly every home up for sell was an awful choice. The two were at the bottom of the list and their only option was a two story house in the slums. Everything seemed fine about it, but the paper said some work would need to be done. "It's probably missing a roof," Brian thought. However, he was surprised at the building when the drove up. It had a hedge bush fence surround the house. They were growing wildly. There were about three concrete steps in ruin leading to a sidewalk about 15 feet from the door. The front yard was brown from the harsh winter and many of the windows of the house were out. Some of the wood would have to be replace and the entire house needed a paint job. "It's a wonderful old thing, isn't it?" a strange man with a british accent interrupted Brian's thought. He was sitting on the porch of the house with a briefcase. He was a business man and after all the proper introductions were made, he took Eden and Brian on a tour. The inside was far worse than the outside. There were even spots of the house that they had to walk around for fear of falling through. It was mess and without water or heating and air, it seemed like it was an obvious decision. "I'm sorry--" Brian started to say but he was cut off by Eden "We'll take it!" Brian gave her an awkward look. "Women and their homes," he thought, thinking of his mother and how she always used to see the best in everything. Everything except him. "We could fix it up easy," Eden continued with a smile still spread across her face. "That's the spirit." The man said. In fact, it had just hit Brian that it was late on a Saturday and no one knew the two of them were coming so why would there have been a salesperson. "How much?" Eden seemed to be taking the lead on this deal. Fine with Brian, he didn't have a working amount of cash anyway "Well--" The man stumbled for words, "It's already been paid for. You are Mr. Gallows and Miss Bourne, correct?" He asked as though it was obvious. When the two nodded, the salesman continued. "A Mr. Quan bought the house and said that you would love it. He told me to you two here and give you a tour to make sure that you got set up." This was too weird. Eden and Brian exchanged bewildered looks. How could Quan have known they would go there and that Eden would like the house in the first place? How could Quan have known what time to tell the man to meet them there? Brian was sure that he didn't want the house anymore and he thought, by the expression on her face, that Eden felt the same way. The man shook both of their hands and after opening the door, he turned back to say, "Mr. Quan also asked me to tell you that the rest of your party will be arriving throughout the night." "The rest of our party?" both of them asked. The man was already too far away to hear them and they were both in shock to even think about who those other party members could be. OOC: Wow, I'm not happy with this at all. For eveyone else who comes along, feel free to put more discription into the house... I'm tired and at a loss for words. *shrugs* At least we have a place to stay now. Sorry
I was waiting to see who else saw this film but since this thread is dying faster than I thought I'll step up to the plate. I saw this movie when it was finally released across the States [or at least it first started showing on the 19th here] with my girlfriend. I was surprised at how packed the theater was- it was 80 percent full for a foreign language fantasy film, lol. I thought it was a fantastic film, very well done. I'm not familiar with any of the actors but they all did a fantastic job, especially the little girl who played Ofelia. The Captain Vidal, Ofelia's mother and Carmen were all wonderfully acted too. Of course, props to the Pan as well but I enjoyed
the Pale Man
almost too much. I consider the latter to be one of the best villains I've seen in a movie for a long time, lol. The cinematography, effects and make up for the fantasy parts of the movie were suburb too. It didn't come off as campy at all, it was a little too realistic at some points with how much violence was shown in this movie, lol. The violence wasn't a negative point to me but I have to admit I had to look away during most of the scene involving
Vidal putting his cheek back together and trying to take a drink afterwards
. The plot and the overarching theme seemed to have a duality, there was the more typical morality tale you'd expect from a fairy tale and yet superimposed on it lingering there I thought that it seemed much more was being said. Things about people's desires, reality, grim truths and hope. The film had a happy ending. I just don't know if people will realize that.
Since you gave props to Pan and the Pale Man, it might interest you to know that it was the same guy who played both of them! I haven't seen the movie yet, but i really want to. I've only watched the special features that last about 20 minutes. It came on HBO the other day and I was so excited. You'll also want to know (since you said you didn't like the violence that much) all of it was fake! The war scenes were the hardest to film according to the director. They weren't even allowed to use blanks... No sound or anything. That was all added to the film after filming was finished. So were the bullet wounds... There was no make-up effects on those. Just pure computer gold! And now that I've heard that it was good from people who's seen it, I want to watch it even more!

Define forever??? Do we actually live forever and have to endure each other's company, or do we simply get old and keel over? Because if we can't actually live forever, I would probably end up killing whoever it is I hate... Or rather, they would kill me because I'm puny, but at least I wouldn't have to put up with them. Nah, I jest. I would totally take the not talking to anyone ever again! I've always wished I had an excuse not to talk to people anyway so it works out. So onto my question: Picture yourself and you know something extremely important... Let's say--- a terrorist plot, but you're family or girl/boy friend or best friend is being held captive. (basically, whoever you care about most) If you tell anyone your loved ones die: Would you: A) Tell someone and let those that you care about most die OR B) Not tell anyone, let your loved ones live, but have literally thousands of other people's loved ones die?

I actually had the idea to create a BR RPG after I finished the book and movie. I settled on a fan fic story using students that I know personally. Still, I commend you on your effort for this blood-bath! I just have one question: It's not going to be exactly like the book is it? What twists do you have in mind, if any? And are you going to allow only one to survive or will it be like the book in the sense that two will possibly escape? If you need any ideas, I have plenty so PM me.

"Man's best friend? I think not!" Before I actually move to the questions. I just want to point out that this is not posed and it's a complete accident. I just got out of the shower because my dad insists on not draining the pool all year. (in this case, it's a good thing) The pool was all green and nasty! I was just going to jump around on the diving board and pose, but my dog had other things planned. And I didn't even land directly in the water. Half of my body met concrete before I flipped backward into the water... Eww* I was so sore and tired after my shower, I just decided on this one! :animeangr On to the questions! If you could combine two animals, what would they be, and why? That's so simple it should be logic: A platypus and and owl!!! Why? Could you just imagine sitting at home, watching the news (if you watch the news) and the lady comes on the screen. "In other news, there's been several reports of flying platypus with huge eyes attacking citizens of [insert your city here]. Scientists don't know what caused this odd mix of water and air creature but police officials are warning all civilians to stay indoor and watch out for flying platypus!" If you had to film an action movie, what location in the world would you think would suit the most exciting action scene ever? (In other words, where would you film it?) Once again, this should be logic. Naturally it's not the location that determines how great the movie is, but rather what's happening in the movie that makes things great! Take Kill Bill vol. 2: There was an entire section shot in a Texas trailer out in the middle of nowhere. And part of that was in a coffin underground. So onto the answer: My movie would be filmed in a city. (A large city a la NYC, Chicago, LA, you pic) and it would star a bad-A** ninja hitman guy who would totally remind you of the Transporter guy. (who aslo kicks major butt) As far as the coolest scene in this coolest action movie eva: (in my brain anyway) he would go in for a simple job in a bar, but he didn't know the crime lord was running the place. So an all out gun war insues, but my cool as heck ninja hitman is able to do all kinds of stuff to avoid the bullets and kill everyone with only his hands!!! *duhn duhn duhn* There would be a lot of acrobatics and stuff involved. (Much like what's in the transporter) The rest of the movie would revolve around him trying to escape the crime lord's gang when he discovers the only way to do that is to kill them all or die trying... Man he's so kick-*** Let's say you ruled a country. Whether your economy prospers or not is up to you. In otherwords, you can be a harsh ruler to your people or a kind one. But what of food? Do you vary in vegetation and agriculture? Do you have a large marketing system? Perhaps some world wide food industries were founded in your nation. The question is, how do you run your country's food situation following those guidelines? This takes more thought, folks. You can choose to make your food of plenty or not. What's it going to be? Hmmm... Well since my country has been over-run by platypus/owl beast things, people don't have much of an oppurtunity to grow food. They're busy trying to control the growth of the Platylbird. (that's what I named it :D ) Sooo, really, all the food we get from out country is imported directly! Where do we get the money??? Let's call it Platylbird season... And since they're only found in my country, their coats and other such things are very valuable!

Well, now I'm depressed... we lost. :( Sandy did have a good point though. We didnt' even think about what we'd do if a new person came along. I assume that since Aaryanna has it saved and it's editable... All she has to do is go and rehost the new flag with the changed name. But then, we still won't be able to change the flag we have at the top of our thread. I thought the names was an excellent idea because everyone from just about every season of survivor put their names on their flag once they merged. I guess the only difference is that they were actually on survivor and we're not... :( Once again I regret having to vote this early, (especially since I feel like the odd man out) but no hard feelings right?

The OtaKuties- Critiques/Betting Thread [E]
Darren replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in General Discussion
I totally agree with Sandy! I love Desbreko's picture so I'm putting the remainder of my cash on Desbreko for 1st! (I think I have 100 left) It's definately an easy pick at this point... I just hope that nobody else enters at the last second like I'm planning on doing. -
Well, I've kept myself out of this story until now because I really like where it's going... It's much better just to sit on the sidelines and enjoy than be the "bad news" guy. I'm not really going to focus on the gramatical errors because those are always fixable and you're story flows very well. I only have two problems: 1) You use the term, "Greedy Bastard." About four times to describe DW. It gets way too repetitive after the 2nd. 2) While he's on the phone with DW, he tells him to meet JP at the corner of Waterfront and Breedson. However, DW didn't know where he was... He didn't even know that he fought the Crusader until later. So why would DW tell him to meet him somewhere that could possibly have been halfway across the city? All I'm saying is to cut down on the repetitiveness, (try using a different phrase to describe DW) and add more dialogue to the phone conversation with DW. (Pretty much, your character needs to expain where he is.) Example: after DW decides to help "Okay... Where are you?" You could hear the repulsive tone in DW's voice. "At the Rose Garden" "get to the corner of Waterfront and Breedson in half an hour. I'll have my buddy JP pick you up." and without saying goodbye, DW had hung up the phone. Of course, it's not the best example, but it helps explain how DW knew to send JP to that spot; it's obviously close-by the Rose Garden. Other than that, I love it! Keep up the good work!
Sounds like we are now the mercenaries and that our color is red. Something that I will go and post in the main thread to avoid confusion, however, since Aaryanna has made two beautiful flags for the occasion; we need to decide which one we wish to use. My vote is going towards the second one. I like the crisp border and the additional graphics she put on it as it matches the avatars quite well. Once I have the decision I?ll update the thread with our flag and the other part of the presentation.
I also vote for the second one for the same reason... I think it just adds to the entire flag and matches the avis way better. Symmetry should be a deciding factor in the winner, correct?

School's being a major B****, you know. We about to start major testing here pretty soon... I didn't even realize that we were so close to tests already... This year is flying by! I'm overloaded at school right now, and I have play rehersal followed by some honor society induction ceremony thing tonight... So if I get home in time, I'll post tonight. If not, I'll make sure to post tomorrow-- Crap, I have rehersal tomorrow and Thursday, too! Shoot! I'll make it work, don't worry. DARREN! P.S. I almost died over the weekend without my computer. Also, the nerves were crazy! And thanks for the luck Vicky, it came in handy; way better than what my friends gave me... I now have a manager in LA!!! :D YAY! P.S.S. I saw your new signature about how myspace ate your soul... Join the club :animedepr That's another reason why I almost died over the weekend: No myspace or OB! I survived everthing, though so I'm good to post soon!

I love it Aaryanna!!! I vote for the mercenaries flag! But, as I said before, it doesn't matter to me what we choose as long as we beat the others! And I really want to use that as an avatar... But I'll wait for everyone's decision. After all, if we end up being the purple cobras, I wouldn't want a mercenaries avatar; that wouldn't be very smart! Edit: I just noticed that Aaryanna posted questions so I'll answer them now... Favorite Animal: That's a bit difficult. I like bats, but at the same time I like foxes... Bats are cool because they can fly and they're mammals. They're also creatures of the night, but then I like the fact that Foxes are sly. (Plus I once saw a gray fox in my back yard watching me and my friends in the pool. It took a long time before I could figure out what it was. Sadly, I didn't have a camera on me, and it ran off before I could think of anything to do. That was probably my only chance to ever see a wild fox, but that's okay) In the end, I'm going to have to go with a bat. A fruit bat to be exact. They're small, but they actually have a fox's face so they get the best of both worlds! Favorite Hobby: I think I already answered that in my intro: It's acting! I currently have the lead in my school play so that takes up the majority of my time, but I also enjoy reading, writing, drawing, anything artistic! I seriously look forward to moving to L.A. I'll add a quetion: If you could use one song (set in loop) for the soundtrack of your life, what would it be? Mine is this great little song by Grandaddy called AM 180. If you've ever seen 28 days later, this song is playing while the 4 main characters are riding around on grocery carts in the store, stocking up on food... It's such a cool and unique song, I find that I can listen to it in loop and not get bored or annoyed. When I hear it, I picture a funny stick figure animation with a little guy walking down a sidewalk... Simple, yet it describes my life perfectly. (Since I tend to be walking a lot-- Okay, bad example, but it's my brain so I'll think what I want)
-
Okay, I'm home from the place! Now it's work time! Since I'm not so great at introductions without at least questions directing me in the right direction, I'll just use a standard intro: Hmmm... Well my Name is Darren, but you all can call me Lee since that other guy stole me name! But he was born before me, so I guess it's okay. I'm 16 years old and I'm currently a Junior in High school. I'm totally loving how close to graduation I am! I think I'm bipolar... Or some kinda mental disorder, but my parents don't worry very much so they just say. "Oh, you're fine." I do have a germaphobia thing going on, so try to sneeze away from me! *eww* I'm usually shy at first, but once you get to know me, I'm a riot... Or at least that's what people tell me, but you can never be totally sure unless you do stand-up. I can get along with everyone, but not everyone can get along with me. This is because I tend to be pertty straight-forward and blunt, and people usually confuse that with rudeness. Sorry! I'm very intellegent (4.346 and ranked 2nd in my class) and I give great advice. (unless you don't like "bluntness") What else can I say to make you think I'm more of a psycho? (which I'm not, btw) *lightbulb* I love acting!!! It's my passion. Someday, I hope to be a big movie screen actor and win lots of awards and be cool, and rub it in all of my enemies faces!!!! Muahahaha! I know that I want to go to UCLA when I graduate, and hopefully I'll be able to start a career in the business by then... but just in case, I have a fall-back to get my business degree. (Yeah, I know, I'm boring) I'm very artsy and creative. And, if you decide that I'm annoying and should be the first one gone, please consider the creativity and let me stay!!! That's my worst fear: to be gone first... But that's only if we lose this competition. (which I highly doubt because we're the bomb of OB Survivor... I can tell) So I've talked a little into the personal and academic life, so the only one left is... Sports. *Blah* I'm not good at sports. In fact, I'm very puny (and frail, as my friends call me. They also call me tweak because this one time at camp-- Nevermind, that's another story) However, I jump hurdles in track and I can swim very well. If I were able to swim competitively, I would but my school doesn't have a swim team. *tear* [funny story: I didn't even know how to swim until 2 years ago... I had the nick name driftwood. (as you can tell, I have many nick names) and then we got a pool at my house and now I can swim better than most people I know. ^_^] hmmm, that's all the sports I play, but I'm getting ready to start Tae Kwan Do... So that's kinda athletic! And now that all this is over, I'm done! Seeing that I haven't been on here to help with the develpmental process of the team name and color, I'll just give my opinion: I like the color red better and I think we should go with the mercenaries... There's no need to copy a movie. (even though, yes Gavin, Dodgeball kicked some serious tail) Plus, I just hate the color purple, but it's okay, I'll go with whatever we decide And on that note, I guess we're still debating a team captain??? Well seeing as most have said Indifference, I don't see why I should break the mold... So it's unanimous, right? Lastly, I just want to say that I also have some skills with photoshop. (I took a class in school! ^_^) So Aaryanna, if you need any help when you're done with it all, I'm your guy!

Sorry folks! I'll be taking about 3 days' break from the computer. I'm going to meet some acting/modeling agents all weekend, starting tomorrow.... *crosses fingers* So, hopefully, I'll be able to post Sunday night or Monday. P.S. In retrospect, maybe I'm a little too much like Brian. *shrugs* oh well...

Okay, I'll throw in my opinion: Maysapce is just another site for losers who don't have a life and should be hanging out with their real life friends. That being said, yes, I do have one and I visit it every day at least 3 times a day. (even more on weekends) :catgirl: How the heck are they so darn successful? I don't know. I can't even tell you why I go there most of the time. I sort of got into the whole blogging thing when I was in JR. High with Xanga... And then I moved to Myspace. I like them because I can write. (which is the reason that I joined OB) I mean, let's face it: Myspace has it all; Hot girls, (even if they are fake or simply models posted by some imposter) music of all kinds, (I usually change my profile song every week) and videos galore with the new aspect the sit just added. It kinda makes it like a hybrid of Youtube and Facebook, but that's a whole different story... And yeah, I guess it is some sort of popularity contest, (although about 20 of my friends are bands just so I don't have to search for their sites) However, the only people I actually talk to are those in my top 8. (Which is a popularity contest in itself) The others are just close friends and family. In fact, just to make me feel better about myself. When I get about 80 friends, I like to go through and delete everybody that- A)I don't know B)I never talk to C)Is annoying That way, everyone will be like, "What the heck!" because I'm so nerdy, and most wouldn't expect the nerd to delete ultra-jock (Hey that's a cool superhero name) That's just how I roll! ;) But most importantly, myspace lets you customize your profile. As some say, that's not always a good thing and those few should be shot when they make flashy sites that I can't read because of my epilepsy. (I don't really have it, but I do wig out) But I'm generally very talented with basic photoshop and HTML code, so I love making my own profiles! :D I guess myspace is for people like me and not for others... However, I don't think it will be a phase; it'll stick foreva!!! :p Unless something better comes along. (which, BTW, I can seriously debate over which blogging site is better for a long long long time) All the music on myspace ensures that for good, and with the new bands jumping on the bandwagon, (No pun intended) it's just gonna grow and grow with all the teeny-bopper girls (and in some cases guys) who want a chance to chat with their favorite artists! What they don't realize is that they're either talking to an imposter or they band's publicist 98% of the time. THAT'S WHERE MYSPACE'S SUCCESS COMES FROM!!! *EDIT*
I have myspace, it's not as bad as everyone makes out because you can 1. not add people to freinds if you don't want to talk to people. 2. delete people if you don't want to talk to them. 3. flag people who rarely spam you with 'buy this from my website' Myspace is only 'emo' to you if you add those kind of people to your profile. There are c.80 million profiles there, they can't all be idiots.
I totally agree with you about this! AND, for all the people who think that putting your info up is dangerous and all that jazz, there's also the fact that you can make your site private... In fact, you have to be at least 16 before you ever have the option to change you site to public! I was mad when I found that out, but I've gotten over since I'm of age now. So when people are harmed because of their own stupidity, it shouldn't be taken out on the website. Consider the person or (in the case of children) their family who doesn't warn them! 1. What name would you like to be used for you during this competition? Well, I would say Darren, but Rachmaninoff has already taken that... *Thinks of an imaginary name* Lee is fine; it's part of my middle name so that's okay, or there can always be two Darrens. 2. What is your age and gender? I'm 16 and male. 3. What country do you come from? The United States of America (although I wish it was England or some other way cool place) 4. What areas of OtakuBoards you consider to be your strengths and weaknesses? (Choose one or two for both.) -Strengths
RPGs Creative writing/Literature
-Weaknesses
Video Games/Computers (Particularly the computers part) Art/Graphics
5. Name one member of OtakuBoards that you consider your friend here. Well, I haven't really been a member of OB for very long, but my first RPG I was ever in was created by Vicky and now, I'm in another RPG created by Vicky! and she seems to be very nice and creative, and it's a lot of fun to be in an RP as long as she's running it. So Vicky's definately the closest thing to a friend that I have on OB 6. What one thing would you take with you to a deserted island? Hmmm. That's a toughy, but seeing as I'm moderately OCD, I would have to bring some hand sanitizer or I'd lose my mind! No lie. 7. Why do you want to participate to OtakuBoards Survivor 4? Well, fankly, because it sound like a great idea. I haven't been a member of OB long enough to have seen the others come and go. :animecry: But, more importantly, I think Sandy's a friggin' genius! I usually miss some of the better events and RPs that were created by Sandy, and then I get depressed... (Like Labyrinth, I would have really liked to be a part of that) Oh, plus, I have this totally competitive nature and I want to WIN!!! So vote for Lee and you won't regret it... Or Darren, whatever. :D (Unless you're not supposed to want votes, in which case, don't vot for Lee/Darren)

Okay I posted... But then I came up with a question. What mansion are we talking about exactly? I know that Eden lives with her grandfather in a mansion so I just assumed that was what you were talking about, but now I know better. So, which one is it, because I kinda just wasted creative juices on leading back to Eden if that's not even where we'll be staying.... Oh, and one more thing: Obviously Quan is the bad guy right now. He's kinda drawing everyone where he needs them to be. He's knowledgeable in everything that he needs to be. But where's the good guy? They guy that's there for sort of informing everyone and helping them to get settled in? So if it's not okay, then we can kinda ignore it, but I was pondering on that so I included the old man again with the fliers again. He's the closest thing to the opposite of Quan I've seen in the story thus far so I figured he'd make an excellent protagonist for the 'good guys.' I don't know if you already had something planned out for him or if was just going to be there for a few posts. In any case, my post won't screw with your over all plan. Like I said if there's something wrong with it, we can just ignore that little detail and move along with the story. Thanks 'gain, D! EDIT: I saw in your post of the surprise that you didn't include Cairo and his place to stay... So does that mean that we're finding someone else, again??? :animeangr That sucks! Now, I'm gonna go bash Saggitarius on the "your zodiac" thread. hehehe *thinks of something clever to say to get on Tekka's nerves and the skips off towards the thread*

"842. Here it is," Brian said to himself has he found an elegant white door on the eighth floor of the hotel where his agent had told him to meet. He expected Hal to be understanding of his predicament, but he didn't want her to come and meet him since he hadn't had a shower in several days and the last three places he'd slept was either in jail or on a bench somewhere in the city. But he couldn't argue; she was here, and Brian was glad to have the company. "Brian," Hal exclaimed as she jumped up from her desk at the side of her bed. She was still working and in a business suit. Brian could see the bluetooth microphone attached to her ear. "I'm so happy to see you." "You too. I have so much--" he started to say, but he stopped when Hal signaled for him to be silent. Work was calling again. "No, I told you to hold all of my appointments. And take messages on my calls unless it's an emergency. I expect to be back in L.A. by Monday." she shouted at someone. Probably that nice assistant Brian had spokent to on a few occasions. But then the thought came to him that that nice girl had probably already been fired or quit. "Brian, you should go take a warm shower, then we'll head out for dinner. You can tell me everything." She made a waving motion with her hand before returning to her assistant on the phone. "Yes, I'm aware that Monday is Christmas..." Brian went into the bathroom and locked the door behind him. He undressed and stepped into the warm shower. He always lost track of time when he was under the water, but he hadn't had any of these luxeries for several days so there was no telling how long he just stood under the shower head, massaging his sore muscles. When he got out, he wrapped a towel around his waist and walked out of the bathroom to get some clean clothes only to find a rather gorgeous woman. It was Hal, now doubt about it, but he had never seen her look that dressed up in his entire life. Not even when the two were dating. It wasn't a big thing; Hal was so much older than Brian, and the attraction was merely sexual. Now, Hal was just a good friend and Brian was Hal's favorite client, which is probably why she flew all this way to God knows where just to be with him. His astonished face must have given it away and Hal picked up the conversation, "What's wrong? You don't like it?" It was obviously a rhetorical question, but he answered anyway, "No-- I mean, yes. You look very, err" he stumbled for words. "Aww, thanks. You're sweet. Now lets go out for a night on the town. You can tell me everything." Hal had originally planned to go to some fancy resturaunt she read about in the hotel brochure, but she got lost (something Brian was all too familiar with) and the two resolved to just walking around. Brian had found the park, which now seemed to be the only thing he could find. He told her everything: How he started having wierd dreams back in L.A. and that when he'd wake up, he was floating. He also told her of his migranes and how his plane exploded, but he miraculously survived. Then he told her of how he got mixed up in a fight right after he contacted her the first time and he ended up in jail with a bunch of freaks that seemed to have some sort of power, just like him. And then he mentioned the last part about the fire at the Harlem Academy and how someone died. He didn't know who, but he was sure it was one of the members of his group. "I heard about something like that on the news," Hal stated as she took a seat under the very weeping willow that he'd slept on earlier that day. "They said there was at least one body and that there were several suspect that have yet to apprehended, but there are plenty of whitnesses. One of them was covered in blood, according to the news." "Charles." Brian assumed that's who she meant. After all, Charles exited from the main entrance and was covered in blood. If Brian had seen him, there was no telling how many others had spotted him. "If there are so many bad people here, why don't you just go, Brian? You can just come back to L.A. with me tomorrow, and we can get you some help." "I told you that I first got onto that plane because I needed to get home to ask my mom some questions and then I ended up here. I don't know how I survived because I blacked out, but it seems like I'm supposed to be here. It feels like something has drawn all of us here. We all have a gift-- or curse. Whatever, we all have it and it just seems like all of this is set in stone. It's like I have no choice." He finished lamely, but Hal knew what Brian was getting at, even if contradicted his entire philosophy. "You never were one for this whole 'higer power' or 'pre-destination' thing, but I had a feeling you would stay," she said, avoiding eye contact. "I just worry about you is all. Someone just died this afternoon, and if it's all for a reason--" She stopped herself, looking for words. "Just stay safe kid, alright." Then she stood up, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. The whole night was amazing for Brian just because he got to spend it walking around town with his friend. It was nice to see a fimiliar face. But then she had to leave for L.A. the next morning. She left Brian a debit card with several thousand dollars to continue his stay at the Hilton. As the cab pulled up to take her to the airport, they exchanged one last look of remorse. It was as if they both knew that Brian wouldn't return to L.A. and he wouldn't get to play in that movie. "My big break," he thought, "Well, that dream's over, but it was nice while it lasted. At least everything about Holllywood isn't worthless." ----- "Sir," the front desk manager called him over after he returned from dinner, "I'm afraid you're card is no good." "Whaddya mean it's no good? Of course it is. Check it again!" "I'm sorry, Mr. Gallows, we've tried it several times. I'm afraid you'll have to leave at once." And just like that, Brian was back out on the streets. As soon as he'd gotten back up to his room, he attempted to call Hal to see what was wrong. He had been charging his cell all day and he had full service, but the moment he dialed her number, everything just went dead. And no matter how many times he tried to wake it up, nothing worked. That resulted in him throwing it out of the eighth story window. After packing and going down to the lobby Brian tried Hal again. But unfortunately, even on the land lines, the phone went dead just as he dialed her number. He had no choice but to leave the hotel in peace, and look for a place to say. At leas he had some of his luggage this time around. However, it was a far bigger hassle to lug around the city. When Brian was about five blocks away from the hotel, he sat down on the sidewalk to rest and laid his head in his arms. This was the most helpless he'd felt in a long time. "Excuse me," a voice interrupted his thoughts "I believed you dropped this." Brian looked up to see the old man passing out fliers from the day before that Cat had bumped into. In his hands was Brian's old cell phone that he just chunked out the window not 20 minutes ago. "Yeah, but it doesn't really work. I sorta dropped it." "It seems to be working fine now." the man said calmly, "That's the problem with today's technology: You can never figure it out." he said practically thrusting the phone into Brian's hands. "Thanks," he said, but when he looked up, the old man was gone just like before. That's when Brian noticed a nice looking car drive by. The window's were rolled down so it wasn't hard to tell who was driving, but that didn't stop Brian's jaw from dropping, nonetheless. Quan was driving by, looking directly at Brian. He was smiling, but it wasn't an evil smile. It was more of a, "You got lucky this time, kid." Of course, Brian was never really that good at reading people. In any case, that old man seemed to be helping him for some reason. At least now he wasn't completely helpless even though he still couldn't contact Hal. When he looed through the rest of his address book, he only found one name in black letters. EDEN B. Reluctantly, Brian dialed the number. One ring, two rings... The phone seemed to work on her name, but now it was just the problem of getting her to answer. Four rings, five.... Just as Brian was about to hang up, a young voice came from the reciever, "Hello?" She sounded tired. It was kind of late, but that didn't stop Brian, "Hey, Eden. It's Brian. What are you up to tonight?"

Yah, I like this. Especially since it's a surprise in the story. That should spice things up. I've been waiting to post, hoping that a few more will become involved in the story again giving me the chance for one of my "monter posts," that I tend to do occassionally. :animesigh But I still luv you Vicky... You're too creative to hate. I suspect I'll post tomorrow after school, regardless of wether or not someone else has posted. Okay, bye! :D

The OtaKuties- Critiques/Betting Thread [E]
Darren replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in General Discussion
*looks over pictures posted so far* :animesigh It seems I'm out of my league right now. Oh well, I put 100 otakubucks on Ezekiel for 1st!! When i saw the entry submission, I thought, "WOW!" The lighting is great, you have a beautiful face and the little stars in your hair just added to the cuteness of the whole thing... Then I saw the Round 1 picture... It was just as good, if not better than the first. I have confidence that you'll take first over all, but since we're only betting on round one, I guess that will have to suffice. -
1) What's your favorite hobby? For me, it's anything to do with the performing arts. I was practiacally born on stage. It's the one place where I can actually be 'free,' so to speak. I'll be nervous right before I go on and then the next minute, I'm totally confident; I get to become my character. It's a lot of fun and I hope that I'll be good enough to become an actor for the movies or broadway some day. 2) What do you think your best personality trait would be? My best trait would be Wisdom. It's hard to come by at an early age, but it helps me alot through life. I have several friends, but I like to stay by myself and observe the situations that are going on in others' lives. (Eegad, not like a stalker, though! :animesigh ) And because I usually display "wisdom beyond my years," all of my friends come to me for advice. It really makes me proud, for lack of a better word, when I get to see that people are happy with my responses.
