It actually says that Gemini is too unpredictable for the order that Saggitarius loves... So, that seems to be dead on. BTW: Gemini could totally kick Saggitarius *** anyday! Why? Simply because there are two! Muahahah  Birthday: June 19, 1990 Sign: My sun sign is Gemini (I actually know all of my signs) and my chinese horoscope is the Horse, but watevah. :animeangr (I don't like horses very much) Personality Traits: Witty, very social and acceptable, smart, indecisive, ect. (It's pretty much what Sandy wrote so I'm just gonna quote so I don't have to take the time to type it myself. :animesmil )
Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a lively, communicative (because of which it is considered an articulate sign), witty, inquisitive, clever, courageous, and adaptable character but one which is also prone to superficiality, maliciousness, inconsistency, cowardice, nervousness, and cunning.

Adaptable and versatile Communicative and witty Intellectual and eloquent Youthful and lively Nervous and tense Superficial and inconsistent Cunning and inquisitive

You really have little faith in yourself, which you mask with ironic wit or sarcasm, but in truth you can use your flexible mind to better yourself in a surprising number of ways. You spend more time talking than eating, so you are able to stay fairly slim. Your flexible bod enjoys agile sports: gymnastics, bicycling, swimming, and so on. Favorites are tennis, racquetball and similar games involving a partner. Gemini talents include design, interior decoration, arts and crafts, magic and illusion, and music.
Is the Description Correct?: Well at first, I didn't think so. I do have some of those to a certain degree. Then, my astrology book went into detail about my venus, moon, and ascending sign. Those three, along with the sun sign is what primarily makes up your personality. They all have some effect, and while the sun sign is what makes up your first personality, (based on first impressions) your ascending sign is much deeper. You determine your ascending sign by what the eastern horizon was occupying at your time of birth. (so you need to know exaclty what your time of birth was) Here's all of my signs: (It's not actually all of them, but the most important. Because even that new planet (or moon) that they discovered outside of the solar system has a sign) *Sun: Gemini *Moon: Taurus Mercury: Gemini *Venus: Taurus Mars: Aries Jupiter: Cancer Saturn: Capricorn Uranus: Capricorn Neptune: Capricorn Pluto: Scorpio North Node: Aquarius South Node: Leo *Ascending: Leo Midheaven: Pisces *= Most important for personality analyzation Leo, my ascending sign, when combined with a double Gemini (both moon and sun signs are in Gemini) makes my personality very contradicting... At times, I tend to display things that are common to Geminis (gossiping, among others) but at other times, I act more like Leo (I like to be alone in order to concentrate, which is contradictory to Gemini, who loves social messiness to concentrate. Also, Leo's love to be daring. When that's combined with the Gemini personality of Spontaneity, it usually gets me in trouble...) Also, I'm on the cusp of Cancer, so I tend to display emotions common to that of the crab... So without all of my signs taken into consideration at once, Gemini barely describes me. Once you count my Leo Ascending, Gemini Moon, and all the other signs, I think it's extremely accurate. How does your zodiac sign PWN over the rest?:
Life is always exciting and challenging when you are a Gemini, as we get bored easily so we are in constant search of an adventure. Gemini is also said to be a very social sign, spreading energy to others as well.
I couldn't have said it better myself... Except I'm just not socially inclined. I can get along with everybody so that's still a plus for Gemini, but I'm pretty shy until I get to know the person and even then, I only like my little group of friends. P.S. We're better because, like only 1 other sign, (Pisces) we depict two beings. And I think I should just point out that even though there are only 2 Geminis so far, we still count as 2 each... Therefor, Geminis outnumber the capricorns 4 to 3. Haha, so many twins to take into account... It's just not possible to overpower them. :animesigh Basically we're the mental cases, but we're still the coolest and the most powerful!
  2.
Really, what Ozy just said is the truth of it. There's not really any system you can come up with to guarantee nonbiased votes, but the majority of those planning to vote are the more active members anyways. The more you've come to this community, the less chance you are to be so biased in regards to mods, looks, etc. To keep this contest from just being about mere looks, the question and interview system was created to represent personality as well. But this contest, though asking who's "Otakute," is more about personality than anything. The pictures aren't to show how attractive you are, but more how fun you can be with a camera and how artistic you can get. That's what it truely means to be Otakute. As Ozy said, mods don't always get all the glory and neither do the "more popular members." I, for one, will simply vote according to the rules. I cannot stop everyone from voting biased, but I've been here a long time and I believe we'll get the majority of the votes from people who participate fairly. I'm sure that probably doesn't make you feel better about it, but also remember--it's all for fun ;) This isn't American Idol.
Well, actually yes, it makes me feel better. I was just wondering if that was something that you saw a problem or if you'd given it some thought. :animesmil And that's too bad that it's not American Idol... Dang, my competitive nature just won't let me take this lightly, but I'm good with a camera anyway... So thanks!
  3. My only concern is biased votes. Obviously the voters will vote for people who they think is actually cute. Also, they'll vote for the more popular members on OB or the members with more influence such as mods... Seeing that there are over 10 mods, it doesn't seem very fair. So my question, Dragon Warrior, is there some sort of system that you've set up besides simply voting? Does your personal vote count for more or something? I'm just curious...
  4. Hey thanks! So besides taking out that one stanza, do you think it's too long? I've had some people tell me that they think it's way to long, but I said it didn't matter... Opinions?

    Last Movie

Hmmm... Last movie. Well I've seen several in the past few days, (Pirates of the Carribean 2, It's a Wonderful Life, World Trade Center, Donnie Darko all back to back) Here's just a quick overview since I don't have time to write that many reviews. Pirates of the Carrabean 2: I didn't like it. It was so inconclusive. It was draggy at parts and there wasn't really a solid story-line set up before a sub-plot came along. Oh no, it's like Lost on the movie screen It's a Wonderful Life: This is sort of a family tradition to watch it every year on Christmas and I really like it. It's just one of those cute black and white movies and the actors are great. Plus, The phone scene in Mary's house is truly one of the sexiest scenes I've ever seen in my life!!! I don't care that there aren't really any words, but the new movies that try a sex appeal thing need to take notes from that one scene! World Trade Center: I don't want to bash it just because it's about 9/11, but I didn't like it. They didn't really broaden on the Characters. And the majority of it was spent on the trapped police officers. They introduced several characters just to kill them off two seconds later. I get that it was a true story, but there's just so much more that could have been done to make it better. I'll leave it at that before I'm slaughtered by everyone. Donnie Darko: I liked it. :) I have a unique taste in movies and I absolutely love my cult classics! I've watched it like 20 times. (the first 10 were just to understand it) I just got the Director's Cut and it was GREAT! It explains the story line so much better. The whole Frank the Rabbit thing seems so farfetched when you watch the regular version, but then it all becomes clear in the Director's Cut. Time Travel mixed with the exploration for God's existence (Yes, the majority of time travel in this movie lies with the question of religion) is great when you mix it with a boy who is mentally unstable... Plus the soundtrack kicks ***!

Brian woke up around midnight. There were red lights everywhere from the fire trucks. He guessed that they were putting out the few small fires. The blood from his nose was dried on his lip and the bench he was laying on created a terrible pain in his back. At his feet, Eden sat silently on the bench, staring at the glowing lights from the fire trucks. He couldn't read her, but she seemed to be content. When he sat up she noticed him. "It's about time you woke up." she said, knocking his feet to the ground and scooting closer to his body. "I would have moved you someplace else, but I couldn't touch you. I almost go run over by a car for trying to even wipe the blood off." Brian realized what she was talking about and quickly rubbed off the dried blood off with his jacket. The jacket and the few small possessions inside of it were the only things he had with him since his plane blew up. He recalled all that had happened "Where's the others?" he asked and Eden turned to him with a sorrowful look on her face. "I don't know," she replied, looking to her feet, "I saw Dorian's shadow cover the Academy just after you passed out. But I don't guess they knew where we were so they must have gone in the opposite direction. There was an ambulance here earlier. I think Charles died." "Wait what? Why do you say that?" Brian asked suddenly awake with fear. "Did you see a body bag?" "Yeah, but why's that so bad. I thought Charles was the enemy." She asked. Brian remembered that Eden probably hadn't seen Charles exit the building. "It wasn't Charles. He left the academy when you weren't looking. So it has to be one of the others inside the academy." "Well we know it wasn't Dorian. He wouldn't have been able to create the shadow." Eden said confidentally. I had to have been someone else. Maybe even Eddie or Cat. Either way, Brian didn't want to stay there anymore. Too much longer, and the police might come along to ask the two of them some questions. It would seem strange if they were present at a fight one day and a fire/shooting the next. He stood up to leave, and Eden quickly did the same; she must have only stayed there because Brian was unconcious. As they began to part, Eden gave Brian her phone number and left saying Merry Christmas as she went. The number was written on Brian's hand, but he wanted to put it in his phone anyway. His cell phone which was one of the few things he had kept from the plane, was in his jacket pocket. It was turned off and he had actually forgotten that he was carrying it on him. When he turned it on, he noticed that he had two voice mails. The first was from his brother and neice, wishing him a Merry Christmas. Was it already Christmas time? It still felt like summer during the day. and the second, was a message from Brian's agent, Hal. "Hey Brian, it's Hal. Listen, I know what happened to you a couple of days ago--" Had it really only been a couple of days? He felt like he'd been in this strange city for months and the plane crash felt years away, but it seemed that since the voice mail was left earlier that day, it had to be true. The message continued, "was a freak of nature, and I promise I won't tell anyone what happened. Hell, I'm not even gonna ask questions. As long as you're okay, that's good enough for me. I was only calling to let you know that I took care of everything. The authorities think that your tickets and ID were stolen just before you got on the plane. And I booked another seat in your name just after that, and checked myself in for it. So as far as anyone knows, we're both headed to Oklahoma for a while. I'm in the city right now. When you get this, come to the Hilton and go to room 842. That's where I am. If anything else, we can celebrate Christmas together." That was all Brian needed to hear. He finished the message, and then entered Eden's number, before heading off towards the Hilton. He didn't know where it was and he'd probably get lost, but as long as he got far enough away from the Harlem Academy he didn't care.

When the gunshot was fired, Brian had dropped to the ground. His brain didn't even register what he had heard. It was just something he needed to duck from. While he was on the floor, out of the way, he had a chance to observe things from a different perspective. Cat and Eddie were on the floor as well and Dorian and Eden were sort of hunched over in each others arms. As Brian watched Charles fall from the balcony, almost in slow motion, he realized that these new characters weren't even scared. They showed no sign of remorse at all. There was a young man who looked no older than Brian, that odd woman from the Jail who smacked Dani around, and the tour guide Quan. All of them were just standing up watching Charles fall to the ground. Some of them even looked amused. Brian was positive from that point, that he wouldn't trust any of them. (plus Charles, if he lived, and Dani) How can they be so calm in a situation like this, he thought. Of course, he didn't even have time to ponder his question because almost immediately, the beams that held up the balcony burst into flame. Now how does that work? Brian asked himself, but once again he couldn't set around and ponder these questions. Things were moving too quickly and his brian wouldn't settle on just one thing. He kept thinking back to Charles's falling body, which was now lying motionless on the ground. Is he dead? And then he switched to Quan and the other two who looked so non-chalant about the whole thing. Were they in on it? Did they plan to kill Charles? But that's when he realized that one piece of the puzzle was missing. Who was the killer? That's when Brian's eyes darted up to the balcony, to see Dani setting on the railing, looking down with half fear, half hatred to the bloody figure below. Did he actually do it? Is he amused? What the hell have I gotten myself into? Brian screamed inside his head, thinking back to all the events that led up to his being here now. If only I hadn't left the cafe to help that innocent looking person, he thought. Then Dani glanced at the crowd and his piercing dark eyes landed right in Brian's. For a split second, Brian was filled with fear that he or one of his group members might die here. He got the impression that Dani was satisfied with the shooting of Charles, but that there was also something else he had to do. But time was still speeding by, and before Brian had a chance to even think about what they were going to do next, Dorian was taking the lead. "I say we get out of here, I don't got no desire to sit in jail again." he said loudly over the alarms. The smoke from the strange outburst of fire was increasing rapidly and the smoke detectors has already gone off. Brian agreed and helping cat to her feet, the group of five quickly walked out into the courtyard just outside. Once outside, they all took in a deep breath of fresh air, when suddenly, Eden spoke up, "Wait, we can't leave this place burning, we have to do something, all the history that's here, we have to save it some how, we need to learn from it, there are too many answers here." Thinking back to the jail and how if he'd never ended up there in the first place that he'd never have med Charles or Dani or any of these freaks, he blurted out, almost offensively, "I'm not going to wait to go back to jail, that's insane, my powers can't help anyways." And that's when everyone decided (except it seemd that Brian and Cat was excluded from the vote) that they would head back to try and help Charles, Isn't he our enemy and to try and put out the fire. And out of nowhere, Cat was pulled out of Brian's arms, although not completely against her will, and she was taken back into the flames with Dorian and Eddie. Eden and Brian were forced to step back a little, and currently they were watching the fire from a safe distance across the street. Eden was setting on a bench with her face in her hands, not saying a word, but she was constantly massaging her temples. Brian was pacing back and forth, nervously, hoping that the three of his friends, Are they my friends now? made it out okay. He tried to stay calm, but the fact that bystanders had quickly congregated outsided the adademy didn't make him feel any more at ease. What was worse, his head was killing him! He knew that if he didn't use his powers soon, he might just explode like he did on the plane. He pulled out a painkiller from his pocket and swallowed it. It wouldn't work, but the incentive was nice. Suddenly, he saw Charles exit the building, smoke billowing out of the door frame as it opened. But there wasn't anyone behind him. What had happened? Where was Dorian, Eddie, and Cat? And more importantly, Where was Dani? Brian continued his pacing back an forth when Eden screamed, "Can't you do anything? Why are you just pacing around? There must be something you can do? She had tears in her eyes. Perhaps for seeing a man get shot. She probalby didn't notice Charles leave the Academy. "I'm pacing becaue I'm nervous, and are you sure you can't do anything?" Brian spat back in anger. He wasn't helping the problem, but he already told Eden that he couldn't help. He got irritated when he was nervous. "I'm sure," Eden yelled, standing up to look directly into his eyes, "But I've already told you my power. You're the only mysterious one. You won't tell us anything! "That's because it's--" Brian stopped in mid-sentence. He was going to finish with a few choice words about freaks and how it's none of their business. But he decided to stop. It wasn't because he cared about Eden's feelings right now. It was more that he came to a realization about his power. "It's what?" Eden protested. "Wait," Brian replied, suddnely calm, holding a finger up to signal her silence, "I think I can do something." "Well what are you waiting for?" She asked as if saying it should be so easy. In fact, Brian had never even attempted to see what his powers could do. He never wanted the headaches to get worse. But now, with the weight of what felt like 1,000 pounds on his shoulder, he had no other choice. He only said, "I hope they can hold their breaths." What occured in Brian's mind was that he could suck the air out of the building and suffocate the fire. Of course his brain and body didn't communicate very well when it came to using his powers and it proved to be a far more difficult tecnique than even what he origianally thought. First he created an outer shell around the building out of pure air. No more oxygen could pass through it. And then he started sucking the oxygen out of the shell. But then he noticed that the building itself started to dent in. That's a new one, Brian thought, I can create pressure in the prescense of fire. Of course he had to back off from using is so much, fearing that the pressure would be too much for everyone inisde. He had to slowly release the pressure by letting small amounts of air back inside. it wsn't enought to keep a person alive or keep a fire going, but it was enought to keep from crushing everyone's frail bodies. At first, his head ache faded completely, but it was now increasing steadily again, the pain almost unbearable. As the smoke stopped in the air just above the academy, unable to escape Brian's shell, it became obvious to Eden what Brian was trying to do. She looked to him in exctiement and gratefullness, when she noticed he looked like he was in great pain. His nose was bleeding, and his eyes looked like they had rolled into the back of his head. "Brian, stop it! You're hurting yourself!" She screamed, but Brian couldn't stop. He didn't want to, but even if he did, he was so concentrated on he was doing at the moment that he didn't even hear Eden. People started to notice the smoke lingering at the top of the academy, trapped in Brian's invisible lining. Not quick enough though. If they'd turned around only seconds earlier, they would have seen his outstretched arm and the way his face was contorted in pain. But that was all gone now; Brian had blacked out, and he didn't know what was going on anymore. Eden layed him down on the bench she was sitting on earlier, and she was about to try and wake him up when she was blown backward into the street. It seemed as though he had a self-defense mechanism while he ws asleep: Anyone who got too close, got a blast of air. The smoke continued upward now that Brian's shell was gone and only small amounts of fire still remained inside the academy. They could easily be put out by Cat's water powers or even be stomped out if needed. But Eden and Brian didn't know that Cat had already died.

  10.
I still love Mad World by Gary Jules from the Donnie Darko soundtrack. It's been my favorite song for a while...i don't know how much longer it'll last. It's a great song.
Heck yes! I love that song. Pretty much, I love any song from the Donnie Darko Soundtrack. Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can get the Donnie Darko Soundtrack.
The ORIGINAL Power Rangers theme song for me. I even put it on my MySpace page. Ha. Recently I've gotten obsessed with Power Rangers, because I'm a geek like that. So, I go around making everything a Power Rangers reference. Obviously I looked for the original theme... and I've been listening to it ever since yesterday. It has to be the best song in history, are you kidding me? Those guitar solos are orgasmic. It's so damn catchy, too. (I'm looking for a Power Rangers shirt, anyone have any good links by chance?)
Oddly enough, I've just reconnected to the classic power rangers as well. Here's something you might get a kick out of: POWER RANGERS Now to the actual reply to the topic: Favorite song of the week... Hmmm, well I guess it would have to be Falling Asleep in the Snow by Auto Escape... And a close second would be Silence by Auto Escape. You probably don't know who Auto Escape is so I'll tell you real quick. They're and Indie rock band out of Fort Worth, Texas. I just found their music about a week ago on myspace and I can't stop listening to it. Their music is so melodic and the lyrics are so powerful... Donnie DeBoer (the lead singer) has a great voice! I can't really say anything about them that hasn't already been said. But let's just say I'm surprised they haven't hit it big yet... Despite there only being four songs on their myspace site, I can't help but listening to it over and over again. You guys should really check it out. Especially those two songs I mentioned above. Here's a link to their myspace site: Auto Escape Go there, and you'll see.
  11. Just as the title suggests, I'm really eager to get a Battle Royale Banner and Avatar set. I'm not picky. In fact, I don't care if you use picutures from the movie, manga, or the novel. (But I guess the only thing you could do with the novel is use the cover) If pictures of the manga are used, I would like for them to be in color. Here's a few that I found. Novel Manga 1 Manga 6 Izumi Kanai Yoshitoki Kuninobu Also some of my favorite manga pictures I could find were Battle Royale 2 and 13, but I couldn't find them in a bigger picture. So if you could help me out with that... And of course, I want the logo put in there somehow... Logo Anyway, you don't have to use any of those pictures I provided. As long as the logo is used, I'm good. Just in case you wanted to use specific characters. My favorite ones were Takako Chigusa, Shuya Nanahara, and Hiroki Sugimura. I'm sure you could just do a search online for any of those... Like I said, I'm not picky, so feel free to make whatever you like! Thanks again! :animesmil
  12. Well I have a question followed by an idea... First, I thought Ozy was going to post Cat's death??? I know Revelation just wrote a post that already had Cat dead, so I'm guessing we'll just back up in time again? (Time travel's neat! :animesmil ) Okay... And now the idea, I don't really want to say what it is, because it should be a surprise. But if Ozy keeps the Academy in flames by the end of the post, then I have a way Brian can stop it... And then, you know, it would be stopped. Vicky, I'll tell you if you PM me when you read this and see if it's okay... But yeah, I'm sure that will happen relitively soon, so Ozy, hurry up and post! EDIT: Whoops, I forgot. So what are we going to do about the other guy? M.Ali? He hasn't been on? Are we just going to kill him as well? Because if so, then I propose that we just make him the shadowy figure in Revelation's post and then he could die? Ah, nevermind. That would make it too random and creul since his character would have just shown up there out of nowhere. Plus, then we'd be 2 down... :animeangr EDIT X 2: Sorry Ozy, I didn't see yours or Vicky's posts. I thought that Revelation posted right after Vertias... I guess I'll go back an read it. *walks the walk of shame*
  13.
I am sure neither of your examples are the first to utilize the concept, and i believe Sandy has already stated that Labyrinth was based on another concept. The fact that you listed that both events seem to be based off a certain other event or book under the negative section of your post seems a bit unfair. Why should that have to be considered a negative? Nowadays it's extremely hard to actually think of something that can be considered totally original. Everything, in some form or fashion will have aspects from an idea done elsewhere anywhere in the world, being in the 21st century that logically seems unavoidable. Not saying it's completely impossible, but who can possibly judge that unless they have been everywhere and seen everything? Sandy's OB survivor was not only based off of another concept, but it was rather blatant. The name was IN the title. Yet those were wildly succesful (and i'm still waiting for my chance to get in one one *cough cough*). So whether or not it was your intention to deem the idea that both events were taken from an already existing concept as negative, i'm just addressing the fact that it was placed in the section you called "Now for the bad stuff". So if you didn't mean it that way, it's rather misleading considering where it's placed.
Sorry, I think that because I was rushing a bit too much, I didn't even realize what I had done. I must have lost my train of thought. By no means did I intend to put the fact that they didn't seem totally original in the negative side. If that were the case, then I would have been contradicting myself in that post. Obviously there's no need to go back and edit what I said so I'll just sum it up in a few quick words since I'm still really really busy. 1) I like both events equally 2) I think that public attraction to the events are base on personal preferences. (Do you like fantasy more or is mystery up your alley??? Or both?) 3) And lastly, I like the concepts as they are. I never meant that any of it should be changed or that anyone should be shot because their idea wasn't completely orginal. Like I said, I was in such a hurry, that I must have lost my trian of thought. Oh well, what are you gonna do, right? But now that I think about it, I don't even know why I put a negative and posotive side... I guess I was going to put something and forgot so I kept writing withought deleting the "negative" section. My bad! :animeswea Lastly, I wouldn't know if Sandy had stated that the influence for Labyrinth was from elsewhere. I already said in my last post that I didn't have time to read everyhting. (Yes, I know, I should have made time) But since you said it, I'm curious as to what that influence was. I might like to read/watch/listen/ect. to it. D!
  14. Here's my opinion on the matter: (And keep in mind, I didn't have time to read all of those replies, so I'm ignoring all of them just give my own personal opinion. If anything has already been stated that covers what I say, just ignore it please.) First off, I did get to read one of Boo's earlier replies about saying Mafia seemed like the better of the events. And I also got to read Sandy's reply. While Labyrinth is and RPG, it's like Sandy said, there's nothing wrong with that. And Sandy got all of the members that were required, so somebody must have been interested. As far as what attracts attention: I think Labyrinth is way more eye-catching. Sorry if that sound a bit rude towards White... But then agian, this is all just my personal opinion. I'm more of a fantasy type person and others are all about guns and stuff... Labyrinth has a certain mysterious style to it. The first thing I thought when I read the title was, "This is either going to be about a complex internal labyrinth of the mind, as the characters entangle themselves in deeper trouble than when they started, or this is going to be a physical labyrinth that the characters cant' get out of." Either way, it was my personal opinion that led me to look at Labyrinth first. Then, there's Mafia. Although based on a game, it doens't take away from the event since it's not required to know about the game to take part in the event. And just as I was attracted to Labyrinth, others types of people would be more apt to look at mafia first. I think it all comes down to a matter of opinion. Either way, both events are both very well done, and addressing what someone said earlier, If someone can't read through the whole sign-up stuff, then they're ADD or they just shouldn't be in the Event to begin with. Both of the events are very well written and different in their approach. Which is why I think that it makes it so hard to choose between them. This is truly a great thing!!! Now for the bad stuff (If that stuff up there qualifies for good?) -Sandy: Have you ever read a book called Battle Royale? If not, you should. In fact, it seems like a lot of your story is somewhat based off of the book. There are some minor differences, but in the end, it comes down to a blood bath with only one survivor. I still love the story, don't get me wrong. I think that even though it seems like it was lightly based off of it, it doesn't take away from anything. I love the resurrections the most. It allows for people to continue playing the game even when all hope seems lost. And thus, the poll makes yours unique. It gets everyone involved, even if they arent' in the event. Anyone can vote for their favorite character and hope that it will keep them alive longer. -White: Okay... Is your card strategy thing based off of Cry Wolf? Or have you seen that too. I'm sorry, in my brain, I try my best to make connections between everything like that and I just thought about how instead of using lipstick (like in the movie, if anyone's seen it) you randomly sent cards to indicate the mafia, townspeople, and detective. Also, the accusations and defenses seems based on Cry Wolf, as well as the steady eliminations. (one by one) What I like best about yours is that while Labyrinth involves people by rooting for their favorite character, Mafia keeps readers involved by using their detective skills to try and figure out who the mafia guys really are. It's a true mystery story. So, I love both Fantasy and Mystery stories. And even though, Labyrinth caught my attention first, now that I've read both of the events, I couldn't begin to say which is better or who deserves to win. Sorry, that probably didn't get anyone anywhere. Both have pros and cons, so I guess the true winner will be decided by who has the better answers in the interview or who has more pros than cons... Or perhaps a vote. (That is, if Shy sets one up) IDK, but I'm excited to see the outcome of both stories...
  15. The tears I cried that whole week when my best friend passed away... :animesigh It was almost a year ago, and I won't get into details for lack of time and patience. It wouldn't have been as bad, if it hadn't been for other people. There were other a-holes who loved to start drama and talk crap about my friend, just to see what I'd do. People who disrespected someone who can no longer defend themselves are really low. Needless to say, I almost got expelled permanently. So I had to buckle down. It died out eventually, and now I'm better. After so long, I didn't expect to be doing this good, but I think I just went through the whole process of acceptance (The seven steps or wahtever) so quickly because I didn't have anyone to be around at the time. It was summer and I had no friends to talk to, my parents worked, and my brother was out all the time. (not that I would have talked to him anyway) I don't know what I can really say as to what helps. I still visit my friend's gravesite often and tidy it up. (it's a little trashy in that area of town; it the closest cemetary to his grandparent's house) And that provides a release. Lotsa poetry and writing has occured. Although, I can't say it was caused by depression or helped with coping... I don't know. Everyone deals with it differntly. I slpet every day for about 16 hours, (my mom was considering a psychiatrist) and when I was awake, I never ate and I wrote constantly. Things are always hard, but they're supposed to get easier. It's cliche, yes, but look forward to all the good things that are coming up for you. That's all you can do really.
  16. Hey guys. I'm not generally a poet. I mostly like to write, but there are moments in my life where I'm just sitting and thinking about things when I come up with something poetic, and it sort of provides a needed release to avoid mental break-downs. This is my poem. It's called The Crash. And I wasn't sure what the rating would be qualified as. I usually like to rhyme in my poems, (in fact, I try too hard to rhyme and it takes away from the quality) but I decided to try something a little different. Please give me some feedback and I'll greatly appreciate it. The Crash I sit here in the seat of my car. I've been sitting here awhile. The sun has left me behind again and now there are only the stars and the wheel. The lonliness isn't what I thought it would be And though your warmth was a nice gesture, we both know that my heart was screaming no. This all feels like a dream That I'm desperate to wake up from. My wall has cracked and crumbled And the grip I once had is gone. You once asked why I was alone And in my apathy, I said nothing. As this car speeds to 60, I've changed my mind. It's time I spilled my soul. The accelerator goes down further And my year-old scars show in the moonlight; The scars I recieved that summer night When I was given all that weight to hold. It was hard to watch my friends go leaving only you to care. But there's always a catch in my mind. Your consolation wouldn't suffice. In my self-pitty, time passed me by Much like the road passes now. As the car reaches 90, The dream still refuses to stop. When time finally stood still, Ignorance spat in my face. My eyes only saw you and you, in turn, saw only him. Time can't be turned back. The needle reaches 120. Both of our curses were swapped And I started to feel. I was too slow then, But I'm not anymore. The car's reached 130, embracing the wind as I embrace this steel. You once asked why I was alone And now you can be sure: You knocked down my defense Just to build up your own. Now with the pain finally setting in And the dullness taking hold, I realize my faults. I realize the end of my road. I have no problem saying it was you; Your warm smile and beautiful eyes. That sweet voice holds me here. You're what held me in this dream for so long. And as I plunge downward, The car is overturned, I hope you wake up from your dream. I pray my wreck will show you your crash. This is actually dedicated to my 4 closest friends: Daniel, Jay, Ashley, and Becca. I hope you enjoyed it.
  17.
So there's the information I had sent Darren. Don't worry too much about the last one, I'm not planning any bible stuff as of yet. God[/B'] luck folks =)
Did you put God luck on purpose? Creepy.... *sci-fi music* anyway. I'm sorry about the lack of postage. I finally did it. (even though tis crap) But it got things moving. So It's for sure that we'll be killing Cat on Wednesday? (God, we sound like we're arranging a hit on somebody) I was just wondering if you had anybody lined up to play the next Pisces? Or is he/she just going to be mentioned kinda like what Cat is now -- Nvm, I feel dumb... And slightly out of the loop, but that's probably how it should be. :animestun

"This way," Quan called to the group of five, "If you'll all follow me, I'll show you our artifacts from egyptian times" Brian was following nonchalantly, still wondering about that 13 zodiac. He was in the back of the group, but Cat was wandering around back and forth and Brian was constantly losing track of her. "The earliest recording of zodiac records," Quan interjected, "Although it's quite possible that they existed long before had, occured in anient Egypt under the rulership of Hor-Aha. This is also one of the only record of a 14 zodiac that we can find..." Brian let Quan trail off as he led the group deeper and deeper into the museum sort of place. He was stuck on a statue of Hor-Aha. It was found in Egypt and the dipiction said that it was a statue of Hor-Aha, but the next part is what really got Brian. It said that the other figure in the statue was Hor-Aha's twin. So now there's 14 zodiac, I wonder what the other is? Brian stared at the two figures for the longest time. It seemed as though that they two brothers were fighting. The both held wepons and the look on their faces didn't remind Brian of a playful attitude. Something must have gone wrong, He thought. And then his mind traveled to his brother. They had never been the closest twins. Brian was far more creative and his brother was, conversely, the athletic twin. They seemed like polar opposites. Regardless, Brian thought he could never attack his own brother like Hor-Aha seemed to be doing. "Are you alright, Brian?" a woman's voice interrupted his thinking. He was starteled at first, but then he turned and saw Eden's beautiful features. She placed her hand on his shoulder. It was soothing, but Brian couldn't let his defenses down for some stranger he'd only met two days ago. At a bar fight, none the less. "Yeah... I was just-- looking at this statue. It kinda reminds me of my family." he finished aplogetically, but not because of Eden. He had just thought of the plane he was on when his power ripped it apart. Eden saw his mood, but she didn't know what to say. There wasn't really much anyone could say. They were complete strangers, despite their strange connection, and Eden couldn't begin to fathom how Brian felt. She probably had problems of her own, anyway. So she just said, "Quan and the others are almost finished with the 'tour.' We should catch up to them." Brian complied, and they walked solemnly down the hallway looking at artifacts and statues as they passed. Eden even stopped to look at a statue of a French woman who Brian could only think to be Joan of Arc. But in the statue, Joan of Arc was not only carrying a sword, but she also had wings, much like an angel. Isn't Virgo an angel zodiac? Brian thought. I guess it's possible that Joan of Arc would be in a place like this. It still all sounds like bullshit, though. The statue happened to be in a room full of biblical artifacts. And since she was saint to the Roman Catholics, it was logical. What didn't seem right, however, (in fact, it sounded blasphemous) was a picture of Jesus walking on water. Brian didn't even want to know what the caption below the picture said. The two hurried out of the room when they heard Quan's voice calling to them. When the tour was finally over, Quan had asked for questions and Eden and he had arrived for the conclusion to Cat's qustion. ("If this is an academy, what's taught here?") He didn't care for Quan's answer anyway, he had a question of his own. "Well I thought there were only 12 zodiac, right?" he asked as he raised his hand slightly and walked to the front of the group. "But earlier you said that Egypt worshiped 14, and in the main entrance hall, there was a statue of 13 zodiacs. So my question is, how many are there really, and what's so improtant about them? His qustion was bold and the everyone in the room stared blankly at him. He wondered if he didn't come off rude. Anyhow, Quan answered. "To be honest, there's no telling how many zodiac there are. It's quite possible that Greek and Roman mythology only recognized 12 because they only knew of 12 people who exhibited extraordinary power without being a 'god'." he paused for a bit, as if carefully planning out the rest of his words. "As for the thriteenth and fourteenth, there's no telling. Perhaps they really don't exist and there are only 12. The Egyptians worshiped people as individual gods. So it's possible that what the Romans called Gemini, represented two Egyptian gods. There's really no way to tell, because many artifacts were lost and the others' explination are lost in translation. Here at the academy, we dedicate ourselves to discovering the secret behind the zodiac, but it's not always easy so we have to go off the information we have at the present." Quan finished hoping his answer was satisfactory. Before he could ask for more questions, Brian interrupted. "Okay but what about that other one in the main entrance lobby? It had something to do with snakes. What was that one about." Once agiain, Brian wondered if he came off rude, but he didn't really care at this point. Just when Quan looked like he was about to answer and narrowed his gaze and focused only on Brian. His eyes pierced Brian's soul and he felt as if he were empty. This man was no friend to the group of zodiac. The Quan answered, but surprising he sounded friendly, "Unfortunately not much is known about that zodiac, but we are aware of its name: Ophiuchus" Then he turned to walk away. It seemed that the tour was over, and the group of five were left standing in a room just outised where they had started in the entrance lobby. Brian was still shocked by Quan's eyes. Whatever he was and whoever's side he was on. There was no way he could be ever be trusted. Brian was ready to leave, but before he could even mention anything to the rest of the group, Cat had run off down the hallway after Quan. She was holding up the little piece of paper that the old man at the corner had given them and yelling something about what it meant, and why they were supposed to come here to the Harlem Academy. Brian took off after her, not trusting Quan alone with such a small and naive little girl. Before he knew it, the other three were chasing after Brian. ~~~~~~~ OOC: ah, blah. Sorry it's a pile of crap... I was being rushed, and Ihope everyone can actually understand it.
  19. I'm still a noob at photoshop, but my bro's a genius and he's taught me everything I know about it so I get the terminology. However, I agree with White. I was experimenting with photoshop coloring myself not too long ago (I searched for a tutorial online and I'd like to point out that those things make it look easy compared to my final product) and that's what it said: Magnetic Lasso!

"Ah, my feet are tired!" Cat pretty much screamed. A few of the people who were on the sidewalk at that hour gave her odd glances. She didn't seem to notice or care. Despite her apperance, Brian was now for certain that he was in the prescence of a child. And man was she a lot to handle. I feel like I'm babysitting a two-year-old, he thought. And then added, I don't think I should be taking her to a BAR then. But it didn't really matter. Brian had no idea where he was going anyway. It turned out that the city was surprisingly larger than he thought. The buildings were tall and spread out, so it was impossible to tell what was coming up around the corner. And nearly all the cafes looked the same. Cat had actually ran into three of them so far, thinking that it was them. She didn't bother to look at the sign. This was the second time that Brian had been lost; apparently, the police station is farther from the cafe than he thought. And since he wasn't pay a lot of attention in the police car on the way down to the station, he was completely and totally lost. If only I didn't ditch that map, he thought recalling Moses and Dani, praying that the kid was alright. His thoughts were interrupted by, "DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHERE WE'RE GOING?" At this point, Cat was on the other side of the street, walking on the sidewalk opposite him. And the elderly couple that was walking by obviously didn't see Brian so they gave her a look like she was crazy. He couldn't help but laugh, but was brought back to earth by her serious glance. "Of course I know where we're going. But it was really far away from the station." "That's what you said an hour ago," she retorted, looking down at her watch. "And it's still true right now. Have patience." he said, trying to sound calm, but failing miserably. "Ohhhh," Cat groaned, obviously bored with Brian's response. Then, "Hey, we've passed that big clock like twice now!" "Oh," He said, embarrased that he'd taken her around the block in his frustration, "It must be a different one." "YOU'RE LYING TO ME!" She screamed, louder than usual, getting even more odd looks form the passer-by, "I could find this place better than you!" and she started to run around the corner. Brian, eager to keep up with her, crossed the street and darted after her. Surprisingly things actually started to look familiar. He slowed down a bit, recognizing some of the buildings. (they still looked the same as the others, but they had their own differences such as graffitti and some of them looked more ran down. Okay, so it was 3 lefts, not 2. I see now, Brian thought in his head, and he stopped chasing Cat and took a right across the street. Cat, obviousyl craving attention, began wondering why he stopped following her so she slowed to a stop. "Where are you going?" "I remember where we are!" he shouted back across the intersection. Cat didnt' even question him, she just ran across the intersection to join him. (she didnt' even look for cars. It wasn't very busy yet, but still, that was dangerous) "You're going to get yourself killed you know that?" Brian said, pointint back at the pavement where she could have been hit by a car. Cat shrugged it off, "nah," then after a brief pause, "So where is it?" "Right around this corner." Brian indicated with his finger. She couldn't see the cafe because there was a tall cement wall running along the sidewalk, (littered with graffitti) but Brian knew it was there. As they turned the corner, however, Cat bumped into an old man. He looked homeless. He had a long gray beard. and he was wearing an old fedora. But he was holding a stack of papers that dropped out of his hands and all three of them bent down to pick them up. "I'm sorry about that," Cat exclaimed. There was a mulititude of words said by Cat and Brian, but they were both talking so fast and at the same that, the old timer didnt' catch a word of it. He just waited unitl they stopped talking and when he finally had all his fliers in his hands he just said, "That's quite alright." Brian thought about offering buy the poor guy a drink, but then noticed that he had an open luchbox with what looked like a feast. Maybe this guy was homeless after all. When they started to cross the street to the cafe, the man spoke up, "Here. Take one of these." Brian thought about declining, but felt sorry for knocking them out of his hands in the first place. So he and Cat both took one, thanking him and walking a few feet down to read the fliers in private. Zodiac: The Gifts and the Curses! Come and see the wonder of the 21st century, a once in a life time chance to witness the power of the stars! For centuries, mankind has fabricated legends around these birth signs and many people believed them. The stars were the key to our curiosity, they always have been. But many people believe the myths around birth signs and the zodiac to simply be fantasy, a lucky guess at our personalities. The stars had granted us scared nights in which we are at our best, qualities for our personalities beyond our imagination and now they offer us one more thing: power! Brian stopped reading there. It sounded like bullshit, but Cat seemed to be reading intently. He looked back to see if the coast was clear to throw the flier on the ground, but the man was gone all together. His luchbox, stack of papers, and the long gray beard was gone all-together. That's eerie, Brian thought, but tired not to pay too much attention to it. He decided to fold up the paper and put it in his pocket, just in case. After Cat finished reading, "Ooooh." She exclaimed as though she was actually interested. Whatever, now it was time to go. And just like before, Cat ran across the street to the cafe. (And once again without looking) And just like Brian had warned, at that very moment, a car came out of the cafe parking lot and nearly ran Cat over. "CAT--" He screamed at her. Hoping she would get the message. She stopped in her tracks and stared at the upcoming car. Luckily it wasn't up to full speed yet, and managed to hit the breaks in time. Brian could see all the muscles in Cat's face relax. He didn't see her, but Brian was sure that she looked like a deer in the headlights. And then it all went in slow motion. Three of the car's door opened up almost instantly, and three figures nearly jumped out. Eddie, Dorian, and that face he couldn't forget: Eden... Eden actaully got out of the backseat and ran to the front to confort Catherine, but she seemed completely unphased by the ordeal and only called out, "Hey, I know you three! You were at the jail," she said and waved extatically. Dorian and Eddie turned to glare at Brian. They were dumbfounded by this girl's--bravery, if that's what you'd call it-- in the face of danger. And they were probably wondering why the two of them were there; in the place of their fight just two days prior. All three of them looked like they wanted an answer so Brian said the only thing he could come up with: "I told her she was going to get herself killed," ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OOC: How's that? Eh, eh....
  21. Well, I see that It's already skipped a day since I last posted, (according to only1specialed) so if you don't mind guys, I plan on take Cat and myself to the bar. But there was a section where Brian fell asleep in the park... So why don't we pretent that he stayed there all night instead of a few hours... That way, when they get to the bar, we can meet up with Eddie, Eden, and Dorian and then I won't have to worry about posting this big long thing about how they eventually found their way to the Harlem College. haha, I guess that makes me lazy, but I don't have enough time.
  22. Sorry about that. It's been really hectic. I've got a major book report due monday. And I've got 2 articles I have to write that were due Friday... Ahhh, And there's a few tests on Monday. I'm overloaded right now. I don't mind if someone posts taking control of Cat, but if they do, would they mind stringing Brian along as well. I just don't have the time to post until I get all this crap finishe. Hopefully by Monday or Tuesday. And I thought the RP was just slowing down due to vacations and stuff caused by Thanksgiving and the upcoming Christmas... Anyway, I'll do my best to get right on it.
  23. Oh... Woops! I thought all of our characters had to be at least a certain age... Oh well, I guess I wasn't paying close attention. I'll change that quick. It'd pretty odd if a 14 year old was drinking! haha! Thanks for the heads up!
  24. Once again Vicky, your writing never ceases to amaze me... I feel like a nerd who just got to the good part in a comic book. "She must die so that another will live." Very intriguing. *bows down* haha, well I guess I'll just have to wait for the progression of the story to find out what's gonna happen. D!

After Brian had spied on Dani and Moses, and wandered around this strange city, he finally made it to the park. He found his way to a bench that was nicely shaded by a pair of weeping willows and overlooked a crysal lake. He didn't mean to, but after the long stressful night in the police cell withouth sleep, Brian couldn't help but dozing off in the peacful park. There was no telling how long he'd been asleep, but Brian was having a great dream, walking down the red carpet, smiling for all the cameras, talking to all the reporters. "Hello," rang a voice of a reporter. Wait, no that wasn't a reporter. "Are you alseep?" the voice rang through his head more prominantly. oh no, this was a good dream, he thought. He opened his eyes to see the odd, but still very pretty Cathrine from the police station standing in front of him, only a few inches from his face. "Well, I was asleep, but not anymore," He said as he rubbed his eyes, and checked to make sure he wasn't drooling. "Mind if I sit?" she asked, but before Brian could answer, she was already sitting down, cross-legged on the bench completely focused on Brian and his look of confusion. "Cathrine, right? He asked, but of course he already knew. He couldn't forget someone like Cathrine that easily. "Yes and you're Brian," she said and continued to stare. Brian thought that it was his turn to speak but when he opened his mouth, she interrupted, "So we never really got to talk at the police station, huh? "Yeah, so did you decide to follow me?" He was completely intrigued by this girl, but at the same time, he was creeped out. "No, I just happened here. It's wierd really, I keep seeing all the people from the jail. But I didn't really want to talk to any of them. They all look creepy in one way or another." she said. Look who's talking, Brian thought, "But not you. You just looked peaceful sleeping with your head bent back on the bench and your mouth wide open. It was pretty funny..." She kept speaking, but Brian tuned a lot of it out. His mind was on what Cathrine had said. So it wasn't just Brian: Cathrine was running into the others as well. What's up with these people, and why are we attracted to each other. "You're a Gemini right? Cathrine buzzed in, interrupting Brian's thoughts. "Huh?" "A Gemini? Your sign. You're a Gemini right?" "Yes, why?" Brian wondered if there was anything to this girl or if she was more complicated that he could tell. "Oh no reason," she replied quickly, "I'm just good at guessing. It's obvious you're a Gemini, but you act like a Leo. You seem really lonely at times but you're really friendly too." True, he felt pretty lonely in this city by himself and he generally was friendly. Was this girl analyzing him? How else could she possibly know that much? Was he that transparent? That's what it sounded like, no matter how unorthodox it was. (using the zodiac) Brian felt self concious from her deep eyes. He had to change the subject. "So what were you in jail for? I know it wasn't like the rest of us?" Brian said. "The rest of us?" she asked curiously, "So all of you were in for the same thing? What was it?" She had completely dodged Brian's question and turned it against him. She was clever, but there was no escaping her game so Brian answered, "There was a fight at--" Catching Cathrine's attening she cut him off, "Oh, a fight? You were in a fight? You don't look like the fighting type... In fact, you're kinda skinny? How could you fight and come out unscathed?" Ouch! Insulted by strange girl. "I wasnt' in the fight, most of us were just there and we got thrown in jail with Dani and Dorian and Charles." Brian Responed, with a bit of attitude. Cathrine understood Brian's tone, and decided to tone it down a bit. "So where was it?" she continued. "It was a cafe/resturaunt type of place called Destiny's Paradise." "'Kay, thanks." she said and stood up to walk off. "Hey wait," Brian shouted after her, thrown off by her sudden departure, "Where are you going?" "The cafe/resturaunt type of place, duh." she said so matter-of-factly like Brian was just supposed to know what she was thinking. "Why are you going there?" he asked "Well, It's the one place where all the wierdos cultivated yesterday, so why not. Plus, I'm in the mood for a drink. You choose." she said. "A drink this early?" Brian asked, completely amused at people's tolerance to alchohol. "Not Alchohol! I'm too young," Brian was shocked by this statement as Cat could have passed for the legal age. "I want some coffee. Wanna come with?" She asked, "You can show me where it is, so I won't have to wander around." At first, Brian was going to turn her down, but something told him that he shouldn't leave Cathrine alone. She looked just as confused about this town as he was, despite her sunny disposition. "Okay," he said with a smile, and got up to walk with Cathrine. She began speaking at 100 miles a minute. Already Brian regretted his decision. ~~~~~~~~~~ OOC: I know we said we'd wait off on killing Cat for a while, but I'm just getting her involved with the story seeing as how her posts aren't enough to go by. (they're so short) And when we finally do get to the bar, she doesn't even have to die immediately. Like Vicky said: No rush. And Ginkaze, sorry, if Cathrine isn't usually as hyper. I didn't have much to go by so I just sorta came up with something. Sorry again if I was way off on personality. :animeswea
