Well, mine is actually quite simple: Everything except my TV. When I moved into my new dorm this semester, I had the option of lofting my bed. And since I figured that it would make more room, (especially since I deluded myself into thinking that I might have a roommate) I went for it. So technically, I'm under my bed right now as I type this... Strange.

'tis me and my pal, Jessie... I'm not sure how this photo came about, but hey... Goofy faces are fun sometimes. P.S. @LRB: You have no right to talk considering that you smoke too. (Not cigarettes, but everyone has their vices) :P -
Well, for each person is a new ringtone! "1979" Smashing Pumpkins "Australia" The Shins "Drive" Incubus "Four Winds" Bright Eyes "I Summon You" Spoon "January 1979", "Messes of Men" mewithoutYou "Portions for Foxes" Rilo Kiley "Say It Ain't So" Weezer "Sweetness" Jimmy Eat World "The Difference Between Medicine and Poison is in the Dose" Circa Survive "This House" Edison Glass "Waiting" Green Day But for everyone else, you get the classic X-Men theme song from the 90s cartoon... My ringback is also a very bad quality Green Day song... And unfortunately, I can't change it because my new phone doesn't have internet in order for me to cancel it. But the subscription is almost expired... And, of course, my text message tone is the Power Rangers communicator tone... :D (My phone makes me very happy)

I'm not superstitious at all, but I do like to play into the humor behind the myths... Although, it was pretty strange that a former student from my university pulled a gun on a professor on the 13th... But I think he had that in mind for a while, just to conveniently match up with Friday the 13th. I facebooked him after finding out, and he had some pretty creepy status updates on there... But, he didn't shoot anyone, fled the campus, and was caught by the police a few hours later. :o That's about enough excitement for me for the rest of the year.

Aaryanna, you did fine with Liana so no worries.

Sorry if it took forever, but I finally posted. Hope it's okay... The woman, who possesses the power has actually already captured Liv and Sally. They just don't know it yet, so if this manages to progress any further, you'll see how her power really works.

Olivia Ford was sitting silently at her desk in her gloomy apartment. It was that time in the morning where the sun shone perfectly through the window to show piles of dust and it only disheartened the girl. 'I've got a lot of work to do today.' She sighed at the though. Having just returned from her double shift at the local diner, Mary Lou's, it was certainly going to be a very long day. 'Well before you do anything, can you take me out first? I need to go.' Sally, a dog who was also her only inheritance from a rich old lady she used to work for part-time, gently laid her head on Liv's lap. She sighed again. If things weren't already stressful enough, ever since she started talking to her dog, she thought it would be wise to check into a mental institute. "Just let me finish paying these bills," She said to the dog and Sally just returned to her doggie bed on the floor in the hallway. Olivia was kidding herself in thinking that she could afford all of this. She needed to move someplace that cost less. Even working as many shifts as she had, she couldn't afford any of the luxuries she was used to with her parents helping her out. 'Who am I kidding? I can't pay all of these.' Sally's head raised from across the room. 'So does that mean you're going to take me out now?' "Would you quit doing that? Stay out of my head!" She shouted, realizing that she must really be insane. She approached the window, pulling the blinds, and was suddenly struck with a vision... It seemed almost in tunnel vision. A group of two were approaching her apartment complex. A man and a woman, both dressed in black suits. Then, the view magnified to show some kind of holstered weapon. And then it all faded away. She looked out the window to find a small bird perched on a window sill across the ally. It was staring right at her. 'Hide' It seemed to say. Olivia had no clue why she was listening to a bird, but her instincts took over and she ran into the closet, which was crammed with equipment she had meant to sell on e-bay. She tried her best to cover herself with the junk. Sally's voice entered her head, 'I hear someone coming up the stairs,' 'Okay,' Olivia replied, 'If they walk passed my door, I'm insane and will check myself into a mental institue.' 'And if they're here for you?' Sally was still outside. Olivia could smell the woman's perfume and stench of the young man's cheap shampoo. She must have been picking up on whatever Sally was smelling. 'If they're here for me, then you make sure they don't find me.' she replied back to the dog. 'I don't know why they would be here for me? I know my bills are late, but people with weapons? This is intense.' Just then, there was a knock on the door. "Olivia Ford," The woman's wispy voice filled the apartment, she seemed to be speaking very calmly, but Liv could tell there was a hint of excitement in her voice. 'At least you know you're not crazy.' Sally said. Olivia could feel the anxiety in Sally. She was likely pacing back and forth in front of the door. "Ms. Ford," the man said, "We need to speak with you. We know you're in there. Please open the door." Then it was quiet. Quiet enough for Liv to hear her heart beat. 'Did they leave?' she thought after some time. 'No. They're just standing in front of the door.' Sally replied. Suddenly, the kicked through the door. Sally reacted quickly enough to avoid being hit by the flying door. 'This is bad.' And she had another vision. Only this time, Liv knew what was going on. She was seeing through the eyes of her dog. Sally was calmly sitting on the floor, staring up at the intruders. Making sure that Liv got a good look at them. 'Now we know what they look like.' the dog said. Liv could feel her dog wagging its tail. This was too bizarre. The two people looked all throughout the apartment, taking small photographs, examining her bills. Not one inch was missed except for the closet she was hiding in. Until the woman approached. Her hand was outstretched, reaching for the doorknob 'Sally, do something!' she commanded her dog. Sally let out the loudest whimpering bark she could, the woman took her hand away from the knob and stared at the dog as it continued to bark. "Would you shut that thing up?" The man said, almost commanding the other. "No problem." She replied, pulling out her weapon. From Sally's eyes, it didn't look like any gun that she'd ever seen. Perhaps an advanced taser, but both Sally and Olivia knew it would hurt. Sally attempted to run out of the way, but was slipping on the hard-wood floors. Olivia could feel the fear and wanted nothing but to protect her dog. She pushed the door open with as much force as she could muster. It opened and slammed into the woman's back just as she fired the weapon. It missed. As the man trained his weapon on Olivia, Sally came from around the corner and bit his hand before he had a chance to fire. "Run girl!" She shouted and both she and Sally made their way to the door. As she attempted to jump over the woman's body, she reached out and grabbed ahold of her ankle. Sally bit her as well and she let go. Almost too easily. Like she didn't even want to really capture Olivia... And then they exited as fast as they could, without looking back. ---------- "What do we do now?" The man asked. "We go back to the company of course." The woman said, calmly composing herself. "Why the hell would we do that? We need to go and get her." "We don't need to do a damn thing," she replied, "I tagged her and the mutt. Let's just get back to HQ and she'll follow soon enough." The man calmed down and holstered his weapon once more. The woman did the same, making sure to collect the misfired ammunition. Then, they left, not even bothering to at least set the door against the frame.

Okay, I posted. Aaryanna, I took a few liberties with your character. If they aren't right, just let me know and I'll fix it ASAP

"So you know Frederic?" Young Victoria Ann asked. "Not personally." Liana replied, "I've met most of the Achards on occasion through Cobalt and the jewelry store where I intern at in Le Monde." "That sounds like a lot of fun. The last time I was in Anova, I was too young to remember. But I've seen pictures and it looks so beautiful." "Well, maybe sometime soon, I can invite you for a visit. It would be a lot of fun seeing that I don't have a lot of friends." "I would really like that, thank you." Victoria was beaming at the thought of it. Liana and Victoria were becoming fast friends, it seemed. So far, Liana couldn't understand why Marcel had looked so gloomy at the mention of the Almagests. The entire family seemed incredibly nice and deep down, Liana had always wished for a bigger family. It was moments like this that made her think about her real parents. Victoria Ann caught noticed the sudden change in her demeanor, "What's wrong?" "Oh, it's nothing. I was just thinking of my parents." she replied, staring at her feet as the two walked down the many corridors of the Alaina. "Well, if you want, you can go back to the reception and I'll fetch the compass for Uncle Fonty. It's not a big deal." she said innocently. Liana smiled. 'Of course, she couldn't have known,' She reminded herself. "Well, I highly doubt that my family is at the reception. Victoria stopped and looked at her quizzically, prompting an answer. "You see, I was adopted. I don't know my real parents." "Oh," Victoria turned to walk again. She must have felt awkward for prying. "I'm sorry, I didn't know." "It's fine. I love my grandfather just as much as if he were my real family." she assured her. "That's good," Victoria continued, "I suppose that family is really what you make of it." The couple took another hallway to the left. "Look at the Almagests: We don't see each other for years on end and when we do, you're lucky if you leave without getting caught up in the drama." "But you all seem so happy." She said. Victoria smiled, perhaps Liana was the innocent one now. "Well, on the outside yes. But the revolution three years ago has really torn us apart. Another turn to the right and a flight of stairs upward. "But I suppose they could also seem nice because they're overcautious with Macey and Bella in the same room." "I did pick up on something like that, when I was dancing with your uncle. He kept glancing over at Macey and Bella as if they would murder each other." "It's a long story, Liana." she said with a smirk, "You don't even want to know." And Liana agreed to leave it at that. They were finally at the study. Liana felt awkward being there, like she wasn't allowed, but the bold girl just marched through the door. 'I suppose she is an Almagest. Surely I can't get into any trouble with her.' Upon entering, there was a man sitting in a chair in the corner of the room. "Hi Charles. Why aren't you at the reception." Victoria Ann was a social butterfly; she seemed to know everyone. "Oh, you know," He said, raising a glass to his lips. Liana assumed it was liquor of some sort. "I've never really known how to function at your family's get-togethers." "That's true," Victoria agreed, "Well, don't mind us. We're just grabbing something for Uncle Fonty." The man nodded and Victoria immediately approached the desk and retrieved the compass before turning to exit. She said farewell to the man and the the two began their trek back to the reception room. Victoria was examining the compass. "So who was that?" Liana questioned. "Right! I forgot to introduce you. It must have slipped my mind." she said apologetically. "That was my brother in-law, Charles. He was married to my eldest sister, Liz, but she passed away some time ago." "Oh, I'm sorry." "It's okay. He's been a recluse ever since. I really wish he could find someone to make him happy some day." She stopped. And made an odd face when she opened the compass. "That's odd." "What is it?" "The compass isn't pointing north." Liana leaned over to examine the object with her new friend. After some time, Victoria closed it and shrugged it off. "Oh well," she said. They walked in silence for a brief period. Then suddenly, "So, any boys you're interested in?" "What?" Liana burst. She was caught so off guard that she couldn't help but laugh a little. "No, none that I'm aware of." After going back down the stairs, they took a corridor that didn't look familiar. "Is this the way we came?" Liana was completely lost onboard this foreign vessel. "Detour," Was all Victoria said before changing the subject back to her. "Well, I could introduce you to some, if you want. Chances are, I'm related to most of them here." Liana wasn't sure why Victoria Ann felt the need to play matchmaker all of a sudden, but she certainly didn't protest. She actually kind of liked the idea, but she could never let Victoria know that. She smiled at the thought of some of the cute boys she had seen at the reception. Liana just shook her head and smiled gratefully at Victoria, hoping that young girl would know what that meant. They continued to wander through the many corridors of the Alaina. Liana realized she hadn't seen much of the ship yet, but for some reason she couldn't take her mind off of Victoria's offer.
Oh no worries, if they get caught, Victoria Ann will just blame Fonty. :D If Liana is nervous about it cause she doesn't know Fonty (something that makes sense) then we can just have Victoria snatch it and stuff it into a pocket. Since Fonty's her uncle she wouldn't hesitate to do that. You can post that or I can. The two girls going to fetch it. I'd prefer it if you end the post before running into Fonty again though, since I want to have some fun with that if the opportunity presents itself.
Oh yeah, no problem. I was going to post the girls' misadventure... And don't worry, I didn't plan to include Fonty just yet. Liana's got a bit of a story to develop, and of course she wants the gossip from Victoria, so... I'll let you have the fun, but I'll take care of the "snatching."
ZETSUBOU SHITA!!! Oh well. Like I said, I don't have a love interest, so I'm not going to be asking anyone out. I am new (rather, not even a beginner - have never begun) to this whole dating thing. And maybe I should stay that way? This is why I hate holidays. They invoke such confusion.
I feel you man... Welcome to the club of singles... Or have you been here for a while and I just didn't see you?
-
Fonty you devilish little schemer you... I suppose since Liana is so Naive, she'll have to help Victoria get the compass, but way to go, Shy. [/sarcasm] As soon as everyone finds out she stole it from Cole Dreadnaught, no less... She's going to be on bad terms with the Almagests, the Achards, and worst of all, Marcel. You suck. :P (But seriously, thank you for giving Liana something to do.)
-
Haha, I expected a fight to break out the moment that the reception started... Either I was just way off or someone's afraid to start something... This is kinda a volatile combination. Almost like a mob war would break out between the two opposing families. Fonty would pull out a Tommy gun, Macey would start stabbing people, and the the Achards would start cracking skulls... Well, Liana can't start anything, she doesn't know any of them. In fact she's probably quite lonely and feeling kinda awkward right now, so if anyone wants to use her, please do so. In the meantime, I have an idea for a post that may or may not happen in the next couple of days depending on who posts between now and then.
Aaah what a revelation. I actually have a girlfriend now, thanks to that sly cockney =p. We're going to Thai food because I made a big deal about liking thai food and the place. But, I'm not here to brag. Well I am but I shouldn't admit to that. I don't have a lot of money but I was wondering what I should get someone for V Day? =(. I'm not really sure any of that lovey-dovey crap which actually work, so conventational gifts wouldn't be good. My only idea so far is a zippo lighter because she's constantly complaining the lighters don't work and bitchin' because she has to buy new ones. Otherwise I'm completely banging my head off a desk about this. The sly idiot already got me roses and I ain't given her anything >_

Welcome to Otakuboards, Azazel. Thank you visiting the site, however, I should point out several things you failed to do. First of all, we frown upon personal advertisement here on the boards, so if you plan to continue your membership, please don't do this in the future. Second, this is the auditions forum for role-playing. And it seems you haven't looked over the guidelines or followed any of the sign-up criteria. (simply because you were too busy advertising) Here's the guidelines: HERE And lastly, the thread you posted in was created back in 2003 therefor, it's considered dead. This is called grave digging and is also something is frowned upon in the Theatre. Please, try not to do this in the future and if you have any questions, you can PM me or any other moderators. Great! Now I feel stupid. :animesmil Uhh, I think there's still quite a few who haven't posted. Are the Church of Phoenix people going to be on the Alaina? I know Rachmaninoff's and SunfallE's are, but what about A_M's? Just wondering.
I'm one of those people that's all for peace and all, so don't be surprised by my response. :P But honestly, I think that it is ridiculous that we have a death penalty. Like yeah, it sucks that this person did (insert crime here) but whatever. We're just animals right? So if a bear goes and kills another bear that doesn't mean that the first bear has to die because of it, and we don't make a huge deal out of it.
Well the difference between animals and humans is that we have the conceived notion of murder. If a bear kills another bear, perhaps it's protecting its young or maybe the other one encroached on its territory. Also, if a bear kills another animal. It's for food, just like humans... Now, killing other humans for food would be wrong. Why? Well it's cannibalism... But also, anthropologists say its because throughout the world, nearly every culture has developed the taboo of murder. Humans intrinsically know that it's wrong to kill another human, even if they weren't taught that while growing up.
If we're just animals then we should "play God" because we're the "higher" and "more intelligent" species. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't white people used to think of blacks as animals and lower than themselves. So why can't one day we think of animals on the same level as ourselves, or even today?
I think there's a difference between mammals and animals. Sure, they're mostly interchangeable and for all intents and purposes, we are mammals (and therefor, animals) But thinking about what I wrote above, when you call someone (say, a murderer) an animal, you don't mean to imply that they're a human being. You say it because they savagely murdered someone else as cruelly as in the animal kingdom. Not to mention all the stuff about us having advanced thinking capacity and the ability to feel emotion. (Not that animals don't, but they don't feel emotion on the same level that humans do) And yes, whites used to view blacks as lower than them. (Some still do) But the notion of animals being on the same level as ourselves is just ridiculous. Animals can't communicate with humans, they can't work in an office, and I'll be damned if I ever let a bear get behind the wheel of a car. LOL
I can't stand how humans hold themselves higher than the rest of the species on Earth. I don't believe peace can ever truly be achieved until we're all putting each other on equal levels. No matter how many people we kill for doing something wrong, it will never fix the world. It is actually "stooping" us to the level of the criminal, is it not? Just my opinion, sorry it's so long. :/
First of all, we are higher than other species on Earth for previously mentioned reasons. And I believe that while the death penalty is necessary, (for numerous personal opinions) I think that part of why it's so acceptable is because murder is nearly a culturally universal taboo. (And it certainly is in every industrialized nation)
So Darren's character has never been to a weeding before? Sweet!
Well yes. I thought it was only appropriate for at least one guest to be completely naive of the Almagests and the impending DOOM. (For lack of a better word. Besides, I'm sure that's not too far off from what will actually happen)

Marcel exited his personal steam-car, pausing to help his granddaughter, Liana. They were obviously of high class. Marcel was wearing his nicest suit that he saved for rare, special occasions. Liana, had on a dark gray pea coat and modest red Grimoire dress that Marcel had recently bought her for her sixteenth birthday. They slowly walked, hand-in-hand, towards the Alaina. Liana's face was lit with excitement, and Marcel couldn't help but smile at his beautiful granddaughter. "What are you smiling at?" She asked, when she saw him staring. "Just you, my dear." He said, weaving his way between the hustle and bustle just outside the vessel. "You look so happy." "Of course I'm happy! I've never been to a wedding before. And just think: We get to meet the Almagests of all people." Marcel frowned a bit at this sentiment. He had only met Leonhart once, but working closely with Oliver at Cobalt Silverworks was enough to give him the impression that this celebration might not be all it was expected to be. And of course, he had his own reasons for caution when it came to the Almagests. But mostly, he was just worried that Liana would set herself up for disappointment. Seeing the look in his eye, Liana changed the subject: "Plus, it's a great opportunity to wear this beautiful dress you bought me." "Anything for you." "Have I thanked you and told you how much I love it?" "Only a million times," he replied, "But your smile is thanks enough." They stopped just outside the entryway to the Alaina, And the great giant that Marcel was, crouched down to eye level with Liana's. She had such a tiny frame, but Marcel had learned many years ago to never underestimate his granddaughter's presence. Even at Lumière Academy, Liana was the head of her class. She was helping him with the business at Cobalt, and she interned for a jewelry store in Le Monde. No doubt, when this girl put her mind to it, she was a force to be reckoned with. He straightened Liana's signature red bow in her blonde hair and then said, "I have another gift for you." "Grandfather, my birthday was a week ago." She was still so excited, but Marcel's somber tone had changed the air a bit. "This is something that I thought I could never give you, but it's something that's rightfully yours and I suppose you should have it." He produced a small circular locket. There was an obvious look of surprise in Liana's face and she held the locket up to inspect it. "Is this--" "Pure Silver? Yes?" He finished her sentence. "How did you come across something like this? It must have cost a fortune! You shouldn't have." If it weren't his own granddaughter, Marcel knew she wouldn't have accepted it. He had raised her well. "To be honest," he started, struggling to find the right words, "I have no idea how much it cost. I've had that locket as long as I've had you." Liana's instantly tore her gaze from the shiny locket to stare at her grandfather. She immediately deduced the previous owner. "This was--" "Your mother's." He finished, "Every time I thought of giving it to you, I thought that it would somehow make you less of my granddaughter. But I realize that you're becoming an independent young woman now. It's not my place to deny you the truth." "Grandpa," tears were forming in Liana's eyes, "I'll always be yours. My real parents could never change that if I ever meet them. Thank you so much, I love it." She turned around, and Marcel fashioned the clasps in place, letting the locket hang delicately over her chest; the perfect accent to the perfect dress on the young woman. "One thing you'll notice about the locket is that it doesn't open." He said, seeing that Liana was fiddling around with it. "I've tried for years and done everything just short of smashing it with a hammer. When I met your mother, she told me that it would open when it's ready." The two were walking again and the concierge took their invitations and pointed them in the direction of the guest lounge. "When are you going to tell me about my mother and father anyway" Liana asked, placing her hand in his. "Soon," Marcel replied, "Now, let's go and have a good time. Remember to be civil and polite." "I always am." "Yes, but you've never been around the Almagests. You need to know that public events don't always run smoothly with this family. Don't get caught up in anything." She nodded in agreement. Then, just as they were about to enter the guest lounge, she added, "I love you grandpa." and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

I don't mind a small amount of PDA... Holding hands is fine. Small kisses on the cheek, I can handle. More than that, and I feel awkward. And not because I'm jealous, but because it reminds me that I'm lonely. :'( The same way, if I had a significant other, I wouldn't do more than hold hands in public because then I would feel awkward. Why do people do it? IDK, maybe they're just more comfortable. I don't think everyone does it to brag, but I'm sure some do.

Shy: Thank you Mr. Obvious. I was not aware. You have shown me the light. But it's like the commercial said. Some women like underweight babies... Yes, that's right. I'm pregnant. Shy's the father. Taperson: Any attempt at a compliment went out the window when you said "Holy poop." At that point, I couldn't stop laughing! -
Hm... A Valentine's? IDK... I'm probably pretty emotionally abusive, but I don't mind Nerdsy. And yes, a chat should be fun CHW... Although, I seriously doubt I'll have any chocolates from heart shaped boxes to munch on. It will probably be more along the lines of a carmel apple (Assuming that my grandma has my new address and sends it on time because that's what she always gives me) and left-over pizza... But shoot, let's go for it!
