1. Pixies - "Hey" Self-explanatory. I love the song and the meaning behind it. It's super mellow, like me and that's about it.
 2. Well, I wasn't seeing it all. Not even in the avatar list on the main thread, but it's there now so whatever you did, it worked. Thanks!
 3.
Oh, it will. It's a god awful movie, but the sheer excitement from gore and weapons constantly flying at you is quite enjoyable.
Well then, I'll rest easy knowing that in movie land, karma always kills the happy couples... Although, my friend already ruined the ending for me.
 4. I'm guessing the image that James used for his post (other than Gustave) was supposed to be Oliver??? Unfortunately, I can't see the image. All the rest of them show up but that one.
 5.
Me with Abigale backstage of our production of The Crucible.
Wait! Wait! Do I see guy liner mixed with breast gropage or am I going insane? Does not compute. I kid. I'm assuming that really is guyliner since you said it was for the crucible. (But then again, if you were just stage crew, I would start to wonder...) EDIT: On second thought, maybe I am insane... Not to sound creepy or anything, but after looking closer I can't tell if that's eyeliner or not. Your eyes just look really... Poppy! (for lack of a better word)
 6.
Nope, Texas bred, Texas dead. Bonarroo is very popular. It was even plastered all over rollingstone.com for a month.
Most definitely. I've wanted to go for the past couple of years, but haven't had the money/transportation... Though I'm looking to get a group of buddies together and go this year. (Which, by the way Kinetix, I officially hate you. Which equals I'm just really jealous) However, seeing that I have to pick of the concerts I've been to, I'll say a mewithoutYou, Thrice, and Brand New concert I went to in Tulsa about a year ago. For one, it was on a school night (and Tulsa's about 1 1/2 hours from where I lived at the time) and my mom still let me go. (Granted that I wake up at 6:00am in time to get back to school the next day.) Also, even though I wasn't too fond of any of the bands, this was the first time I'd seen mewithoutYou in concert, and they were AMAZING! (Excellent stage presence) And then, when Brand New played my favorite song, the guitarist jumped up onto one of the speakers, and then, onto the rail overhanging the stage. He was hanging upside down, by his legs, playing the guitar... It was pretty spiffy and entertaining if I do say so. Oh yeah, also: I totally got to elbow a guy in the face because he was trying to push passed me in the crowd. (He did this by grinding his knuckles into my rib cage. I was mad) But the point is, I got away with it and he didn't beat me up afterwards... So that's good.
 7. The only thing snow is good for is snow days... Which I've had 2 1/2 of those since the winter semester started up at Oklahoma... I haven't seen this much snow since I lived in Kansas. (Over 10 years ago) However, the downside is that because I hate the snow, I'm stuck inside all day doing nothing but homework!
 8.
I was expecting more wang jokes. I am disappointed.
You didn't give me a chance. :( My wallet which contains:

Campus ID
Driver's Liscense
Debit Card
Gas Card
Campus Contact Card which lists numbers for maintenance, questions, and Safe WALK/RIDE (in case I'm too drunk to drive and need a lift back to my dorm)
Hot Topic Frequent Buyer's Card... (I don't know why I have it. I don't usually go there, but you never know)
Voter ID Card
An appointment card for my orthodontist
My Room Key
And $2
I also have my cell phone, 2 lighters, and pack of cigarettes...
 9. I personally LOVE Texas' take on the death penalty. (and no, that's not sarcasm) I believe it's something along the lines of: If you commit a murder, are convicted of it, and there was at least two witnesses, (it may even be one) it's the death penalty. There's no ifs, ands or buts about it. (I'm not even sure if you're allowed an appeal process) Basically it's a fast track to lethal injection. Last guy I heard who got the death penalty, was killed a few months after he was convicted. I like the death penalty in most cases. And eye for an eye, y'know? Who are we to decide who lives and dies? The real question is who are they to decide? Revenge is justice, but of course, that's just my opinion. Plus, the death penalty is necessary for a number of other economic reasons.... Why can't we go back to the old days where if you steal, we cut off your hands? They say it has something to do with cruel and unusual punishment, but killing for killing is the same thing and it still goes on. (Although I know there have been some prisoners on death row who've sued because it's cruel and unusual punishment) They deserve it. That's all I'm saying.
 10.
The "Because I say so" approach hasn't worked with me since I was 3.
I think that's the only reason (it's not really a reason. Just a statement) the bible gives... So, take it or leave it because GOD says so! [/sarcasm]
 11. I'm good to go. Things cleared up so ignore the deletion of my sign-up post... I figured the thread was dead... But seeing that you have the image of Olivia already, (and I don't remember any of the details) hopefully I won't need to re-post it.
 12.
I don't recall eating any strange fruits. How is it good that I (or for that matter, anyone) have to suffer for the sins of the father?
Well, it does say that in the bible, that the sons must suffer the sins of the father. So, if you're a christian, then you kinda answered your own question.
He doesn't have to do anything, he's omnipotent, he can do anything. If he wanted to end suffering without affecting free will or killing people, then he'd be able to.
And how would you propose that he did that? I get that he's supposedly all-knowing/all-powerful, but I can't think of a way he could end suffering without taking away free-will or killing a lot of people first. Which, in fact, it says that he will in the book of Revelations... So good? Well, killing a lot of bad people in this world wouldn't be bad by my standards.
 13. Oh boy, another one of these threads. I am an atheist myself, and while I may disbelieve for different reasons, the questions that you asked (particularly the 2nd) were the same ones I asked on my road to "discovery." So obviously, I'm biased. I can't even begin to answer any of those questions because I simply don't believe that God exists. However, based on my religious upbringing and the responses from my parents/pastors/elders when I asked these questions, I'll try to answer it from a Christian perspective. I've never believed that God was omnipotent... Does the bible even suggest that? Or directly say it? I guess it says all-powerful, but that doesn't necessarily mean omnipotent. Let's think about it: In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth... But how long did it take him? 7 days. If he was omnipotent, why couldn't he have created the Heavens and the Earth in a millisecond. and why did he need to rest afterwards? There have been answers to this. For example: That time didn't exist at that point, so the definition of 7 days could have actually only been a second or so. Also, perhaps our perspective of 7 days is different to God. So, even from the time I was little, I've always thought of God as all-powerful in the sense he can do anything with time... He has his limits, but they far surpass any humans. (That also explains the whole war with Satan/end of days scenario) Now for the second question: Is God good? I've already established that I think, if he does exist, he could pretty much destroy mankind, so it's apparent that hypothetically he could end world suffering, world hunger, AIDS, cancer, etc... I think I'll take Jim Carrey's line from Bruce Almighty. Something along the lines of "God is just a little kid, standing over an anthill with a magnifying glass." It's even been suggested to me before (by one of my pastors) that it's possible we're not the first humans. That God created another "experiment" before us. He tried to use that to explain the apparent lack of miracles that were so present in the Bible. It's not often we see someone parting major bodies of water, or raining fire from the sky. I think that in order for God to end all of these things, he would have to constantly kill all the bad people in the world. It would certainly show his presence, and people wouldn't do bad things anymore. We wouldn't have war, murder, torture, rape, etc... However, in that sense, he would be taking away a human's right to choose. Something that's very prominent in the Bible. And if we don't have a right to choose, then we'd all be living in the Garden of Eden right now... It's one big contradiction that Christians can't really escape from... So, of course the counter-argument was made that he has a plan for everyone and that everything he does, he does for a reason. Suffering leads to strength and so on. Sounds like a watered down version of Darwin's survival of the fittest if you ask me.
 14.
For me, a "dork" is generally less intelligent than either a geek or a nerd. I see a dork as someone who is socially awkward, and a little clumsy, but "cute" in a way. Between the other two, I can't really decide if a nerd or a geek is more intelligent, and what the difference is between them, really. Any opinions?
I agree with your definition, but I think of a nerd as someone who is intelligent in less traditional subjects. (EX: Anime/Manga, TV Trivia, Music, etc) And I think of a geek as someone who is extremely intelligent when it comes to math, science, english, etc... But really, I've never heard the words used negatively. I think it depends on the way people use them, I guess. But I'm proud to say that I'm all three of those. (At least by my definition)
 15. "Love Shack! Baby, Love Shack!" That song always makes me happy when it comes on my iPod. *shot* Now for the topic at hand: I hate Valentine's Day. It's a ridiculous holiday. Maybe I'm biased because I've never had a serious relationship and someone to share the holiday with... Or the fact that since elementary, the only Valentine's Day gift I've received was from my mom. :animedepr But hopefully, My Bloody Valentine 3D will cheer me up! :animesmil
 16.
Senator John Edwards for the win! I mean the man cheated on his wife while she was in chemo for Breast cancer. You don't get any more Douchier (is that a word? Hmm, well we'll just remove sin and make it one) than that. In the words of a former patient: I wouldn't vote that man for Dog Catcher. And to make matters worse he lied about the whole thing and doesn't think he did anything wrong.
Couldn't agree more... And it really sucks because that's who I was rooting for back in the primaries before all this stuff came out. And then to find out that Obama was considering him for the VP spot before this all happened, just infuriates me... I wish he wasn't a douche because I think he would have made a good president. I just can't get past my complete disappointment and loathing for the man. Oh, and yes, Flavor Flave as well...
 17. Hi Mobius and welcome to OtakuBoards. I'm glad you're interested in role playing, however, this thread was started over four years ago and I doubt Cat has any intentions of reviving it. Please try to avoid gravedigging in the future. I encourage you to continue looking for RPG, but try not to venture past the first page. If you have any questions, refer to the rules here: Auditions Guidelines Or you can always PM me or another moderator for help. Thanks, D
 18. Just posted my sign-up. I'm sure there's a million typos, but I haven't slept in a while, so I'll fix them later... Also, I just want everyone to know that I still intend to use Charles from the first RP.
 19. Name: Liana Claribel Prideux Age: 16 Your Connection to the Achard Family: Liana's grandfather and sole living relative, Marcel Prideux, is the president of Cobalt Silverworks. Protrait: Occupation: Liana studies art at Lumière Academy. After school, she works at a small jewelry store in Le Monde and during the weekends, she helps her grandfather at Cobalt Silverworks. Story: Liana is a very intelligent and mature young lady. She was adopted into her high-standing position by her "grandfather," Marcel. Both of her parents are believed to be dead. Raised in Bourgade, Liana often wandered into the art district of Le Monde where she fell in love with such extravagant and beautiful crafts. When Liana was young, Marcel enrolled her at Lumière Academy, where she excelled in the arts. Of particular interest to Liana was working with jewelry (probably through influence of Marcel's silver mining company) and architectural studies. In fact, Liana showed such aptitude for jewelry that her teacher gave her a job at a small jewelry store in Le Monde. One day, she hopes to design a beautiful landmark or building that would become the face of her beautiful city. Her grandfather, was the president and CEO of the Anovan Silver Mining Company. During the very stressful merger negotiations with Achard & Co., it was deemed that he would be made the president of the new company. When Liana turned 13 shortly thereafter, she began helping her grandfather on the weekends, familiarizing herself with many of the company's workings and giving herself a crash course on how to run a business. Between all of this, Liana barely has time for a social life. She's never even had a relationship before. This doesn't mean she doesn't have friends, but rather that her friends are at least ten years older than her and interested in talking about business and architecture. The few girls from LA that she associates with remain distant and only allow Liana to tag along for expensive shopping sprees. This is slightly depressing for the teenager, but she loves every second that she spends with Marcel.
 20. Easy. Dogs all the way... My puppy (even though she's getting old, she'll always be my puppy) is like a friend. And you know what they say, mutts are the best kind of dog. I don't know why, but I believe it. Every dog I've ever owned has been a mutt and they're all the best. And loyalty to other people only goes so far with my dogs since I always rescue them from the street or the animal shelter. I think animals know when you've saved their lives and that's a loyalty that strangers can't attain by giving them food. Dogs are more affectionate, more playful, (which is better to an active person like myself) and I love the way she lays at the foot of my bed every night like a guard dog (even though she's just a lab mix and very wimpy) I don't dislike cats, but my mom and dad do... So I've always just grown up around dogs. And cleaning up their messes isn't bad at all. If you've got a really obedient dog (like mine) you don't even have to go outside with them when they need to go... I just let her out, she does her business and comes back to the door. And she usually only goes in one spot so I never have to worry about stepping in a surprise when I walk through my front lawn. Dogs for the win!
 21. Maybe we should just skip me... I know James said he was going to use a lot of time jumps for his concluding post but maybe for the sake of coherency, it would be easier for James to post the end for both Jamie and Zahir.... Plus, I don't think I'll have the time to post (I still have to read everyone else's final posts) and I really don't want to make it any more difficult for James to explain the ending... So, if that's alright with everyone, that's what I'd like to do. :animesmil
 22.
Yeah, we might be able to pick this up at a later date with a new RPG. I think I will wait until everyone has done their final posts before I put mine in. That way I can wrap things up in a more concrete way. Once your final posts are in, can you just let me know in this thread? That way I'll know when to post mine. Thanks everyone!
With our characters, being together and all, how do you want me to handle it?
 23.
Yes, I encourage someone to come up with one. I believe in you, Darren. -Shy
Okay, I tried... I didn't really have a lot to add to it, so I just followed the model of CHAOS.

Lumière Academy: Located in the southwestern district of Le Monde, Lumière Academy (LA) is one of the oldest schools in the New Globe. LA was established initially as a foster home for orphans of the The Purge of 220 by Madame Angelique Laroche. However, throughout the years as she began teaching the children art and history, it slowly transformed into a prestigious academy. Because of its old roots, LA's curriculum is centralized around the arts and is often credited as "The Light of Anova," as it ushered in the massive artistic movement of Anova.

 24. What about an academy for Anova? Shy, I've already expressed my interest in the RP to you, but I'm wondering where my character would go to school? I don't expect it to be as prestigious as CHAOS, but there should be one... [STRIKE]Want me to come up with it? I'm not very creative, but I can try.[/STRIKE] I tried... And I failed.
 25.
I think it's a harmless exercise of our freedoms. :) I too am atheist, and I don't see anything wrong with this, nor do I see it as "pushing belief" on anyone, because 1) Atheism is not a belief, it's a lack of belief in god/gods and the supernatural, and 2) Placing some ads on a bus is hardly getting in someone's face about it, unlike people going door-to-door preaching at you. All this is is opening up room for discussion.
Well I'll disagree with you on point 1. I'm atheist; I believe that God doesn't exist. Furthermore, if atheism isn't a belief, then why would they bother to advertise. They shouldn't care. Point 2: I slightly agree. I don't think it's necessarily shoving beliefs on others... But my whole point is that atheists shouldn't have to advertise. They shouldn't care because they're not a religion... By advertising on the buses, they're defeating the whole idea behind atheism.
