While I do agree with the statement that everyone has the right to advertise their beliefs, (and I am an atheist) I think that it wasn't a smart idea. I've heard non-religious people complaining all the time that christians push their views on other people... And then they go and do the same... atheists aren't even an organized religious group... So they need to quit acting like one.
Honestly, after being told I look like "so&so" several times (insert Tina Fey, Velma from Scooby Doo, a friend of a friend, etcetcetc)" I think I've figured out something... all white girls with dark brown hair and glasses and medium cut hair look exactly the same. It's the only solution.
Nope. Nope. I don't think that's it... (Although I do see the similarity to Tina Fey) That's why it's so confusing because I have no idea where I've seen someone that looks like you. Maybe it was a dream... Oh jeez, now it sounds like I'm dreaming about you... [/stalker] :animedepr -
Haha dude you remind me of Darren XD.
I'm going to assume you were talking about Kinetix and me. (Cuz you know, there is another Darren on the boards. :P) I'll definitely take that as a compliment. Anyway, no new picture from me. I mean, I have a new haircut and I have new pictures, but none that are worthy of the boards. So I'll wait and just waste your time with this useless comment. Vicky: I didn't know you spoke to normal looking people. J/K Anomaly: You look very very familiar in that picture, but I can't figure out why. (And yes, I know you're from Canada) Everyone else: Looking good! -
My username? I love Dave Grohl. He's the best drummer without a celestial body for a last name. I'm drawn to everything he's ever done, without even knowing it. Nirvana sucked, I thought, but wow the drumming was awesome; turns out it's Dave Grohl. Only Queens of the Stoneage album I like, find out later that Dave Grohl was the drummer for it. Tenacious D? Dave Grohl. And so on... it's kinda ridiculous.
I was wondering if your username was your actual name or a reference to Dave Grohl... Guess I found my answer. You lucked into one of the most awesome celebrity names ever!!! Good for you and welcome to the boards.

Just wondering what's going on with this thing... I'm still ready to start the RP, but if I have to wait too much longer, I might get too overloaded. As it is right now, I'm trying to finish up the Von Braun Odyssey. I'm also in Mr. Blond's RP, and I've been thinking of joining the 2nd Almagest Legacy RP... I don't want to have 3 RPs going at the same time (seeing that I get stressed out writing for just two) so I need to know if this is still in the makings or what.

It was difficult to even walk with all of the injuries he had sustained during the crash. His head was throbbing, there was a sharp pain in his lower back, and his left arm still felt numb as he attempted to hold onto his flash from the camera. Jamie thought it was a miracle that it didn't break during the crash as well. The only thing that ran through his mind was the thought of Alex outside the ship. His partner, possibly injured or worse, lying outside the walls of the Von Braun's protection. The one thing that kept him from a state of panic was the constant trail of smoke entering his lungs. Zahir was walking just a few steps behind Jamie, barely talking. The photographer could tell that Zahir didn't appreciate the smoke and Jamie hated having to smoke around someone who didn't like it, but it was either this or a nervous breakdown. When they entered a section of corridor that was light enough, he could hear Zahir shuffling through the papers they had picked up from Samantha's room. "Made any sense of it yet?" he asked. Zahir let out a long sigh, "Unfortunately, no. The parts that I can make out in the light seem to be a jumbled mess of code words and protocols. None of the files seem to be related." "I'm sure some of the others will be able to decipher it." Jamie stumbled a bit, using the wall for support. "Are you okay?" Zahir rushed forward to support Jamie. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little dizzy." he replied, throwing his cigarette to the ground and putting it out with his foot. "I know what you mean," Zahir said, "I think some chemicals from the ship have gotten into the air because I've been feeling a little light-headed as well." "All the more reason to find Alex and the others and get out of here then. Do you know how much farther it should be." Zahir checked the map of the ship he had found in Samantha's room to see where they were. "Actually, it should be just around this corner." As they rounded the final turn to where the Von Braun's computer located Alex, the could see a faint glint of flashing red lights. They were different from the red hue of the emergency back-up lights and Jamie thought he could hear something in the distance. "That doesn't look good." he said aloud. "Any idea what that could mean?" Zahir seemed to be lost in thought. They were both confused why the lights were only on in that certain part of the ship. Finally he replied, "Only one way to find out." But as the two approached, they weren't ready for what the ship had to tell them: WARNING, EXPLOSION IMMINENT. EMERGENCY EVACUATION INITIATED. ALL PASSENGERS ARE TO PROCEED TO THE NEAREST HATCH IMMEDIATELY. There was no need to say anything. Both Jamie and Zahir were already on the edge of their nerves. With the idea that the ship was leaking chemicals, it came as no real surprise that an explosion was going to follow. The only thing that really stood out in Jamie's mind was the new urgency to find the others. They entered the room that the Von Braun had located Alex in and were overwhelmed by a massive hole in the wall. The dark landscape of the alien planet stretched out before them, but Alex was nowhere to be found. Jamie searched what was left of the room before he came across his ID card. Zahir placed his hand on Jamie's should for reassurance. "I'm sure he's fine," he said, "At least we don't have to search for an escape hatch."

ROTLMAO!!! This actually made me cry from laughing so hard. I do think that the parents had to be a little out of their mind to name their kid Adolf Hitler, but seriously? What's up with the shop not putting the name on the cake??? It's called customer service and I don't care if you disagree with it, you better serve the customer! Oh well, I'm just happy I got my recommended amount of laughter in for the day.

James, your post was fine... I'm really confident in everyone's writing ability and that Jamie would never be portrayed in the wrong light... And I'm really not picky about that sort of thing. Most of the time, when I see something like that about my character that I hadn't originally intended I think, "Wow, I hadn't thought of them doing that or saying that." Kinda like an actor who's discovering his character as he reads through the script... anyway... With that being said, expect a post from me today or tomorrow. More than likely, it will be tomorrow since I've got a final today and I'll probably sleep all day once I'm done with it... Tomorrow, I have a free day so I'll be willing to type out something semi-worthy.
Done. Hope that was okay. Ten points to whoever gets the two movie lines used in the post! I'm looking at [strike]Blayze[/strike] DeLarge here! Boy always gets 'em.
Done as well. Sorry it took so long. I've been sick this whole weekend and now I have finals in exactly six hours. (What am I doing up???) But anyway, it's all done and ready to go! I delved into the background story of my character a bit earlier than what I expected to... But I was having writer's block and... :animesigh Yeah, no excuses, but there it is. I left a lot of his backstory a mystery as well, so don't worry. Plenty more surprises from the past to come.

"Wake up." Dr. Petr Kovalev was a relatively young man with horn-rimmed glasses, which currently hung haphazardly from his broken nose. His hands were tied behind the back of an uncomfortable wooden chair and he couldn't help but notice that he was sitting on the roof of his apartment building. "What do you want?" He called out into the darkness. There was a shadowy figure in the distance, but he couldn't make out a thing. "Oh, let's not delay your last moments with formalities doctor." The voice sounded oddly familiar, although Dr. Kovalev couldn't place it. "What do you mean my last moments? Who are you? Why are you doing this?" "I'm surprised you don't remember me, Dr. You may remember me as Patient 626, but nowadays, I go by Wavelength." Fear spread through Petr Kovalev as the man stepped into the light and the man could feel it overcome himself. "Attempted murder would have resulted in quite a hefty sentence some time ago. But I supposed when you're a simple orderly, you don't have to worry about conviction." It had taken some time for Wavelength to overcome the emotions of others, but since then, he had managed to convert that feeling into power. He thrived on the thought of his revenge for the past two years while he sought help for what the good doctor had done to him. While he trained his powers and learned to control them. "It's so funny actually, Dr., because if you'll recall, those are the last words I said before you threw me in river almost two years ago. Wavelength could almost hear the man's heart racing. "Only difference: I was innocent." The doctor didn't speak. Perhaps it was due to the until recently, presumed dead/ former patient of his. Or perhaps he truly felt some guilt over what he had done. "I bet you never thought you'd never see me again." "I had no choice, please you have to understand!" The fear was now coupled with desperation and Wavelength had pulled out a small stool from the shadows and sat down face to face with the man. "When the experiments failed, he made me kill you. He couldn't be bothered by such a scandal when his rice to power was so fragile." "Save your breath Dr. Kovalev. I know all about your company's boss, The Face. Don't worry, even if I were to tell anyone, it would never make it to print with his name on it." Confusion. The doctor was confused as to how this former patient had known so much about his company and it's working. "You see, Dr. Kovalev, I know all about your company and it's workings since I've been following and tracking it for two years. Only thing I could do to keep myself sane while I waited for this very moment." The doctor eyed the new augmentations to patient 626 and say they weren't one of his own. Realizing this, the man continued, "Gotta admire the handiwork, don't you? I bet you wished you'd have thought of something like this before you tried to kill me. Keeps the absorption under control for the most part." The tone in Wavelength's voice was truly befitting of a malicious spirit out for his revenge. "Of course, on nights like this, it's always hard to control what's unnaturally attracted to me." He pointed to the sky, as they rolled across the night horizon. The were a deep gray, fully charged with lightning. Wavelength could feel the fear encompass Dr. Kovalev once again as a crack of thunder emerged from the sky. "Don't do this!" he pleaded, "What I did to you was terrible. I never meant to get involved in all of..." His former patient placed a cold, metallic finger to the doctor's lips in order to hush him. "Of course not doctor. You're completely innocent. All the murders of the failed experiments are now carried out by grunt-workers and security guards of your company. But just as I'll repay your boss, I'm repaying theirs for something he did two years ago. Maybe they'll grow a brain and get out." Just then, a hard rain began pounding the apartment building roof. Dr. Kovalev was still afraid, but Wavelength's empathy told him that he had come to accept his fate. It was time to put the miserable bastard out of his misery. Wavelength lifted his metallic hands into the sky. His absorption was unconscious, but he knew that it was inevitable to avoid being struck by lighting in his condition. Sure enough, a few seconds later, a bolt hit the tips of his fingers, sending a tingling sensation throughout his body. It hurt a bit, but no worse than what he was subjected to in order to make him like this. "But how?" The doctor asked, "We killed you because you were a failed experiment, how did you manage to live and attain the powers that we worked for so diligently?" "I'll consider that your last request, doctor," Wavelength almost told the man what he wanted to know, but then realized that he had a better idea. "But first, I want to ask you a question. It's only fair since I never got my last request two years ago, don't you think." The doctor frowned and bowed his head. Wavelength felt the acceptance in the man's mind. so he continued. "How can you sleep at night knowing that you're responsible for tearing apart numerous families?" He gave it a lot of thought, to be sure. Perhaps the doctor was attempting to prolong his death as long as possible. But finally, "I don't sleep very well at all. Not a day goes by that I don't wish I could escape. Not a day goes by that I don't think of what I've done to you and many others." And now, Wavelength was pissed. He could feel that Dr. Kovalev was lying, "Well doctor, it's time to say goodbye." "Wait, wait!" He screamed as his former patient outstretched his arms. The doctor wasn't sure how his newly acquired abilities worked but he was sure it involved electrocution of some sort. "What about answering my question?" Wavelength smirked, "Wouldn't you like to know." And he shot a wave of energy at the doctor. Surprise was the last emotion that the Wavelength picked up from the doctor before he died. What the doctor hadn't learned about his experiments was that the result allowed patient 626 to convert and project electrical energy into different forms. The doctor's chair flew back with quite a blow as the force field struck him dead on. The back legs of the chair caught on the small boundary ledge that surrounded the roof, sending him into a backwards spin as he plummeted to the ground below. His body landed with a sickening thud even from Wavelength's position 12 levels above. "Good riddance."

Yes!!! Rock, Paper, Scissors wouldn't be as fun when it comes to spar, but 3 posts and a judge might take too long. I would say one post each (from each person in the spar) and then all the members of the RP would vote. (Majority wins and makes the 3rd and final post) And I've always loved character portraits. They're fun... So I'm definitely down with that! And don't worry about the art program. The ones you made look fine to me, but whatever.

So sorry, finals are coming up. I'll post this weekend. (Meaning tonight at the earliest)

Basic Information Name: Olivia Ford Nickname: Liv Age: 19 Gender: Female Appearance: [here] Olivia is a petite girl, standing at 5'6" and weighing just over 100 pounds. She is fair skinned and her dark brown hair is often expressive of her mood and accentuates that mood quite creatively. Her eyes are naturally a dark blue, but they change colors with the active use of her power. Details Motive: Liv doesn't really have motives as she's naturally an indecisive person. Her strong convictions towards any one cause may change as simply as the wind. Although she consistently believes in doing only what is right, that line is often blurred, considering her history. Alignment: Good Powers and Personality Powers: Animal Symbiosis - Liv is able to telepathically create a link between her mind and another animal's. Not only does this translate to literally communicating with animals, but she is also able to see through their eyes and temporarily take control that animal's movements and actions. Although this power has yet to fully develop, it should also be noted that during symbiotic link, Liv often possesses physical trademarks of the animal she is linked to. (Ex: Increased energy/stamina, increased strength, sharpened teeth and nails, enhanced smell/sight/hearing, etc.) Personality: Liv is, at heart, a people-pleaser. She has always thought of herself as a humanitarian and finds herself in places where helping others is prominent. No matter the situation, she's able to adapt with artistic flair and creativity. She's a smart girl and tends to be a bit of a perfectionist. If you get in her way, she won't run you over, but make you see things her way. This doesn't mean that she's close-minded. Quite the contrary, Liv is a very idealistic girl, always taking the time to learn about something she didn't know before. However, personality traits from animals exposed to prolonged symbiotic links seems to have embedded themselves in Liv leading to vast array of what the American Psychiatric Association would define as personality disorders. She is often prone to sudden outbursts of emotion, possessive or jealous tendencies, laziness, arrogance, impulsiveness, etc. The History of You Background: Liv was born in the state of Washington and is the eldest of five children. After her mother passed away in an accident, she became the matriarch of the family. It became her responsibility to care for her brothers and sisters and she was forced to give up her dream of becoming a veterinarian due to lack of money for education. She and her twin brother, Micah helped out as much as they could but even then, it was too difficult. Her youngest sister was diagnosed with cancer and died a year later. When her father decided to move in with his distant relatives, taking the other two children with him, Liv was left alone. She began walking dogs as a part-time job in conjunction with waitressing at the local diner. That's when she met [Sally], a German Short-haired Pointer. When Sally's owner passed away and bequeathed the dog to Liv, the two became very close and Live discovered her power. Discovery: The sun was bright on this particular summer day as Liv played fetch with Sally in the park. She tried to do this at least once a day in her busy schedule as a vet's assistant; a job that her brother had gotten for her. But something wasn't right about this day. Not only could she sense it, but even Sally seemed to pick up on it as she lazily fetched the ball, contrast to her usual energy. The dog continuously glanced up at the sky before returning to Liv on her command. "Good girl, Sally!" She commended the dog but was thanked with the usual lick on the face. Instead, the dog whined as it paced in circles, refusing to sit still. A sudden shade had passed over the park and Liv thought it was just a cloud at first, but realized that there wasn't a cloud in the sky. She looked up to notice a partial eclipse. The sun was being blacked out by the moon, but the strangest part of it all was that she hadn't remembered anything in the news indicating an eclipse today. "That's strange," she said to herself, patting Sally on the back. "Yes it is," To her astonishment, her dog had just replied back to her. She looked around cautiously to make sure that there wasn't anyone around. Dogs can't talk, she told herself. "Well that's a relief. I had no idea." That same voice echoed in her ears as if someone had just spoken it. Yet, there was no one around her except Sally. There was obviously an air of sarcasm in the voice, but Liv was still too shocked to actually reply. "What's going on?" She said aloud. The eclipse had already passed. "Who knows, but isn't this cool?" Surely Liv had just gotten too much sun and she was experiencing heat distress of some kind. At that thought, Sally licked her face adoringly before adding. "You're not distressed. We're both normal." Liv continued to stare at her dog, quizzically completely astounded by what had transpired.

Oh, well I personally had already assumed that the founders of the company would be in NPCs, but I suppose now that I have the green-light, no need to worry.

Persona: Wavelength Age: 29 Appearance: Wavelength appears rather normal aside from the silver gauntlets he wears that covers the length of both arms. He Wears a simple peacoat and scarf with sunglasses. His face looks like this (However, he has a scar over his right eye) Accessories: Wavelength is a natural born Empath, allowing him to pick up on the emotions and feelings of other surrounding him. In addition to absorbing emotions, he unconsciously absorbs electric energy. His gauntlets keep this absorption in check and he has been able to convert and release the energy as burst of lightning, electromagnetism, and kinetic force fields. All cleared through Mr. Blonde.
but there's nothing like hard work to distract yourself from disappointment and trouble. In fact, if I hadn't been keeping myself purposely busy, I'd probably be less happy.
Yep, I know exactly what you mean. I've been keeping myself extra busy with my papers I have to write. And I intentionally made plans for tomorrow night. (Because usually I don't go out on weekends) It's helping, and I've been able to talk to most of my friends and family and their support is also helping. I've also cleared my schedule with all of my professors. So hopefully taking off Tuesday and Wednesday won't affect my ability to study for finals all that much.
-
I think I'm cursed... I thought this week was going to go a little better. But I was wrong. My grandpa passed away and now I have a funeral to go to right in the middle of finals.
-
Ah well, you win some. You lose some. It's all self preservation in this game and I see that my strategy, while it appeared to work for a brief period, failed because Lrb forced me to scramble. Oh well, there's no clues from me who the last werewolf is, but just know, they're a lot closer than you think. ;) Okay *dies*

I am also an avid Heroes fan... And I'm also just a comic book freak in general. If it weren't the rather poor response to a lot of classic superhero RPs I would have already created one. But I love the idea!!! The company is something that I've always had my share of questions on so I wouldn't mind that at all... And actually playing a Company Agent would be way fun... However, I don't think there's a whole lot left to be covered with Heroes' Company simply because according to a rumor I heard about Heroes, they're completely separating from that story arc after this season. (Which was practically confirmed when NBC fired the executive producing duo of Loeb and Alexander) Not to mention that only two founders are still alive in the story, and I'm willing to bet that one or both of them will die by the end of the season. So I wouldn't worry about contradicting whatever little story the creators have behind the company. I'm in!!!

Ever since I saw that episode of Rugrats where Tommy and the gang go into "opposite land" via the mirror, I've had a serious dislike of mirrors. But I'm able to combat that quite easily. (Even that movie, "Mirrors" barely phased me. It was lame, to be honest.) The only time that it turns into a serious fear is when you get numerous mirrors and set them up facing each other. It's just not normal how the surfaces reflect into each other forever!!! It's really freaky. I get the feeling like I'm being watched and then I'm paranoid for the rest of the day. But this fear more spawned from the house of mirrors that you see at carnivals. My parents took me inside one when I was little (right after I had seen the aforementioned Rugrats episode) and I started crying because I couldn't find my way out, kept bumping into the walls, and everywhere I turned I was looking back at myself... Creepiest feeling ever.

1. Go home 2. Take pictures 3. Sleep in and veg out 4. Go see family 5. Get my presents (or in the case of this year, steal them in a game we're playing) 6. Sleep in and veg out some more 7. Visit friends (hopefully) 8. Meet some new people ;) (hopefully x2) 9. PARTY! 10. Go back to college. It will be a very laid back Christmas this year. I'm more looking forward to New Year's though. I think I can manage the wait though

Tetra... I know this may not sound too convincing since I've already said it before, but take heed of what Lrb said. If you vote the wrong way then the werewolves win. I'm saying this to you and Chibi because I know that both of you are the other two civilians. It's like I said, Lrb and Vicky are the werewolves. We need to lynch one of them. I hope you and chibi make the right decision because we probably don't have a lot of time. That is all, but if I am lynched, I had fun playing this game... But no mind games here. This is 100% honesty.
-
Sorry for laughing at ya, Darren... I just couldn't resist... :animedepr
It's okay Tetra. I've learned through my investigations that you're on the good side. So I apologize for suspecting you the last day cycle. @Lrb: My lynch stands as well.
-
LOL. A decent attempt at covering your own *** but I'm afraid it won't do. If you really are the investigator you would have opened up to us right away as soon as I said that I was the real detective. You can't afford to let a fake detective go loose because that means the Priest (who should be protecting you) will be protecting the fake increasing the chance of you getting lynched or eaten tenfold. ALSO, if you were the real investigator the FIRST PERSON you would have investigated would have been me to check if I was a werewolf or not. The fact that you didn't do this only confirms that you either suck at this game (which I don't think you do since you've played it many a time) or you are a werewolf covering your tracks.
:animesigh Let me repeat myself for you Lrb... If you'll look back at my post, I said quite plainly that I figured you were a paranoid civilian looking for early protection from the priest. And, in my experience with this game, it is usually not a good idea to come forth as the Investigator early on so I kept quiet. That's also why I didn't investigate you because I already had my suspicions. I had wrongly pinned you as a paranoid civilian, but I because of Chibi's lack of posting in the first day cycle, I was too suspicious of her to take the risk. Also, as I pointed out, once Mr. Blonde stated that you were the only he trusted in the second day cycle, I knew there was no point in coming out simply because I wouldn't receive the protection that the investigator needs.
But he waits until now, when I catch him red handed, to claim that he is the true investigator. Let me ask you what seems pretty convenient to me. It seems convenient that while we were all hot on the tail of Ace you defended him to the end and right when it was revealed he was a wolf you took it all back. What seems convenient to me is how you wait until the first vote flies in your name to reveal your "true colours."
First of all, you'll notice that I never defended Ace. I merely stated that my suspicions were leaning more towards Tetra and I pointed out my observations along the way. But never once did I say, "Ace is not a werewolf," for that would have been a fool-hardy statement regardless of who I suspected. And second, Of course I'm going to reveal myself when it's most convenient to me. Duh, this game is one of self-preservation whether I'm the werewolf or the investigator. I already explained to you the motive behind my early strategy making, but obviously, once you abused the trust you've received from the other civilians (convincing both of them to vote for me) you forced me to show my hand. My bet was that either you had a hunch I was the real Investigator and wanted to draw me out for this very reason, or else you just took a wild stab and found yourself in a fight you weren't prepared for. I'm betting the former simply because we're down to five players. Three is the majority for lynching and seeing that you already have a definite vote with the other werewolf, you only need to convince one other civilian. You're odds are greatly stacked against me.
I mean seriously, don't any of you find it a little suspicious that Mr. Blonde's number 1 accusation was Darren and then he gets killed. And the one person Blonde (who really was the Priest, might I add) said he trusted was myself and now all of the sudden I'm the victim of Darren's lynching? It's almost so obvious it hurts. :animeswea
I will also point out that Mr. Blonde never gave a number 1 accusation. He said numerous times that he was suspicious of all of us (except for you) and he even voted to lynch Tetra in the second day cycle proving that he was a bit wishy-washy with his suspicions. Only toward the end of the end of his second day cycle did he directly name [strike]Ace[/strike], Vicky, and myself. And why are we basing the decision on Mr. Blonde's suspicions just because he was killed. I could just as easily say that Mr. Blonde was killed to throw excess suspicion on Vicky and myself. (As I pointed out that by him naming us, he put a huge target on our back) In this instance, by Mr. Blonde trusting you, he was seriously the victim of the biggest blindside of this game.
HOLY CRAP!!!:o Damn you two...screwing around with my head...>< NO! Darren is lying! This is all a pathetic attempt at a cover-up! And if we lynch you and you turn out to be the P.I., then I guess we know who to lynch next, don't we.;) Sorry, Darren, you're still my lynch vote.
No, Chibi, it does matter. This is the most important lynch of all of them. If you lynch me, (the P.I.) then that means there's two werewolves and two civilians. After the night cycle, there will only be one civilian and the werewolves win. If you lynch either Vicky or Lrb, then there will be two civilians to one werewolf in the next day cycle... It all rides on this vote. I don't care if you vote for Lrb or Vicky. We just need to kill one of them to make sure the civilians win. And Tetra, this includes you. Right now we have the majority so we're calling the shots. And since suspicion is on me, I really need you two to make a unified (correct) decision to lynch either Lrb or Vicky... It's the only way.
