Manga Loveless manga, truly without love? Any fans? Any gripes?
chou kuro replied to chou kuro's topic in Otaku Central
But the main part that i don't like in the manga is the fighting scenes its slightly confusing for me
I agree, but I think the fighting scenes are just a place you need to slow down and appreciate the art and imagine all the movements in your head. I love how dark the fighting is, and how powerful words are in this universe. I have a question for you Loveless fans: if you were in this universe, and in a fighting team, what would your team name be? As I mentioned before, I think I would be clueless, just because that suits me pretty well:animeshy: :animesmil! Toss some stuff in to keep the flow of ideas going! -
Deathnote is my alltime favorite! (tied with loveless). I love it so much! I was just wondering if anyone has read Hikaru no Go. The artist (forgot the name) is the same as in Deathnote. Anyway, I've only just read up to book six, and accidentally stumbled upon the
L's death spoiler
by accident when I was reading posts! :animecry: :animecry: :animecry: So sad! but I will continue to read even after that part. I've decided that if I had a hundred dollars, I would buy all of the deathnote manga two times over (I already own them all, so I would have three copies) because I love it that much! Go Shonen Jump and its awesome manga previews. That's the same way I found the Bleach manga, and have read all of that as well. GO DEATHNOTE!!!:animesmil :animesmil :animesmil
chou kuro, speaking of the wait for volume 3, do you have any idea about the actual release date? ~Dagger~
Sorry, but no, if I had a fighting name it would be clueless! I've checked some places that usually have that information, but not found anything about a release date. The release date I found last January for Loveless 2 said it would be coming out in March, but I couldn't find it until June, so I really have no idea, and I'm not sure if I would trust it if I found a release date. I'm hoping soon, though!:catgirl:
I'm GLAD they didn't dub it, personally. Loveless is art. English dubs kill art. They couldn't have made it good.
I agree! Dubbed anime is evil! The art and original japanese should be appreciated, and having to read what everyone says is a small price to pay! But let's stay with the thread and keep this talking about the manga. Did anyone have a problem at first with the boy love, or with the fact that Ritsuka still has his ears and Soubi is in college? -
well, the art is VERY good~ but the plot isn't my thing :X~ and about that whole 'Fighting' stuff is a bit strange to me
I agree with you at least partly, the fighting is a little strange, and so is the plot, but I do enjoy strange things...so the plot and fighting work for me. I also agree that the characters are great, and the art is wonderful. That's actually how I started reading the series, I saw some of the art of Ritsuka and Soubi and fell in love. Yun is a great artist!:animesmil -
Manga What happens when i try to draw manga...improved
chou kuro replied to mangamaniack21's topic in Otaku Central
I've started three mangas, but I haven't gotten very far in any of them. I'm an okay artist, but I'm not good at perspective or profile's, so I usually draw a couple pages, then stop. I love writing though, and I'm working on four novels and several short stories, so I usually get the plot and stories down, and then just leave them in a drawer cause I get convinced that I can't draw. -
Did you ever feel like crying after the series ended?
I feel like crying, I did with FMA because I loved it soo much! :animecry: And I've gotta see the movie cause that's the only way to deal, is getting more. And if there isn't more, that's when I write fanfic about whatever I feel I'm missing.
If they are a bootleg, they are one hell of a bootleg. Coming in a fold out cover with a plastic slip over cover, the discs with manufacture information on the cover. Most of the anime coming from singapore, different sellers, is made the same way.
Believe me, bootleg looks good, and it is too good to be true. I bought the entire studio Ghibli films (Miyazaki movies such as Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke) boxed set on Ebay for way cheap, and when it came it was all professional, but the menus are all in Chinese. So you do get what you pay for, a lot of the time. I've since learned to spot bootleg, and I don't buy it. I do have a suggestion though. I get my anime for free online. I just download the episodes, and then watch them on my computer. Not as awesome as having it on a DVD and watching it on your tv, but it's free! (sometimes membership fees for sites though).

I hate that feeling! It's just a very "nooooooooooo it's over" feeling. It can't be described, but any true anime lover knows what it is. I deal by writing fanfic to continue the story, and also drawing fan art. And if there is a manga that goes along with the anime, I read that. But with Fullmetal Alchemist, the one anime that truly killed me with it's ending and only 51 episodes (I've been spoiled by Naruto), the manga is so drastically different that it didn't help as much as I'd been hoping.

Manga Loveless manga, truly without love? Any fans? Any gripes?
chou kuro posted a topic in Otaku Central
Loveless, by Yun Kouga, is currently my very favorite manga! It's a story about a young boy, Ritsuka, and a bunch of other stuff that's a little complicated to explaining (if you read the manga, you know what I mean!). His brother was killed by a secret organization, and his brother's adult friend, Soubi, is hanging around Ritsuka. Ritsuka himself wants to avenge his brother's murder, but doesn't know where to start until Soubi shows up. I originally started reading it because of the cat ears on the people:catgirl: (I love kitty people!), and I liked the explaination of why they have them. In this universe, you have cat ears and a tail until you become an "adult"
through the normal process, losing your virginity
. It has a very interesting plot with complex ideas and characters. Warning, this is a boys love manga (some homosexuality), so if that bugs you, then don't read it. But hopefully that won't stop you from reading it, because it is a well written, beautifully drawn manga! Anyway, I just wanted to say that this is a great manga that you should read, and if you have already, then what do you like/ dislike about it. For me, that would be Like::catgirl: +the complex characters, such as Soubi and Yuiko. +the awesome and beautiful drawings +the interesting and involved plot, with wonderfully realistic elements (including
Ritsuka's mental illness, his abusive mother, his relationship with Soubi, his relationship with Yuiko, his fight against Septimal Moon, and his desire to avenge his brother's murder
etc.) +the fact that book two recently came out!!! (definitely something to like!) Dislike::animeangr -the wait for book three! (ok, not connected to the manga, but still a dislike!!!) -actually, I can't think of any more dislikes. ummm, sometimes the word bubbles are a bit confusing (it's hard to tell who says what) and sometimes there are too many word bubbles per panel. not a flaw with the story, but with the translation space. -the fight scenes are a little confusing, but that happens in manga. Please give comments on this wonderful manga!!!:D :D :D -
Loveless Anime DVD's top my amazon.com wish list, cause I love the manga, but haven't gotten the chance to see the anime. Does anyone know if there's a place to get it online? (sorry if this question has already been answered in this thread, It's 5:45 am and I haven't slept yet)

I'm so happy to find such a devoted bunch of FMA fans!:wigout: This is my fav series (second is Naruto), mostly because of the original and interesting plot and the characters. You can sympathize with almost all of them, even the evil (or thought to be evil) characters, such as
Lust, Envy, Scar,
etc. There's no love with
Tucker
though, he is just too evil.:animeangr  :flaming:And
envy I'm inclined to hate because of Hughes, who was one of my favorites! waaaa:animecry:
. But basically, I love FMA!!!:D :animesmil :catgirl: oh, and I can't wait for the movie!

I just started watching this anime, and have to say I LOVE it! The first episode made me laugh so hard I shot soda out my nose. (yeah, I know, TMI) I love the baseball episode too. This show is just way too funny. My parents keep comparing me to Haruhi, it's kinda sad but true.

Anime Anime that need a sequel/continuation
chou kuro replied to 5th Hokage's topic in Otaku Central
The one series I REALLY want to have more to it is Fullmetal Alchemist. It had such great potential! I cried in the last episode, not just cause it was sad, but because I knew it was OVER! At least there's the movies, but it's just not the same. FMA was such a great series, and I think it had WAY more potential for plot developement than it was allowed in the 51 episodes. Plus many of those were just filler. :animecry: :animecry: :animecry: If I had a genie bottle, one wish would be for more FMA. And I also agree about Loveless, but I think there's gonna be more to the anime. (here's hoping!) -
I'd most definately have to say Hohenheim and Trisha, from Fullmetal Alchemist. Though we never see too many moments of them together, I just think it's such a sweet, beautiful pairing, and how Hohenheim could possibly love no other woman than Trisha. -le tear-
So true! :animecry: so tragic! They are definitely one of my favorites. I would also like to see Ed and Winry get together, because she helps solve his over-machoness. And we all just need some R & R, Riza and Roy (Hawkeye and Mustang) because they are already devoted to each other, and they already understand each other so well. They need to get together,
and in the last episode, I think it's hinted at that they will
, so I'm happy!

Anime Fullmetal Alchemist - Hohenhim of light Cosplay Advice needed
chou kuro replied to a topic in Otaku Central
Hoenheim is pretty tall I think, but in cosplay it doesn't matter as much. Proper height helps, but you can be a short or tall Hoenheim, and if your outfit is recognizable, people will know who you are. -
:bawl: :bawl: I'm too emotional, I guess, but anime makes me cry all the time. I cried in a few of the Miyazaki movies, bawled in Barefoot Gen (don't watch unless you want to have nightmares for months about war and your family getting killed), in Graves of the Fireflies (another bawl-and-nightmare-inducing one). I cry A LOT whenever I watch certain episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist, and Naruto. :animecry: :animecry: :animecry: Maybe I should stop watching the realistic, touching anime, and go for a crazy, fun, nonsensical one that will make me cry with laughter instead.
