aoi_hikari replied to The Spectacular Professor's topic in Otaku Central
Yu Gi Oh! The Abridged Series is awesome! ^o^ It never ceases to make me laugh. Naruto Abridged is good too. Favourite Moment of Yu Gi Oh Abridged: "Yu Gi Oh is sponsored by Yu Gi Ohs! They're Yugi-licious!" I lol'd XD -

The Obligatory "Haul" Thread

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS): This is the first Phoenix Wright game I've ever gotten/played, and I'm really enjoying it. ^^ Whenever people see me playing it, they try shouting "Objection!" into the mic, and that's kind of annoying... -___- Final Fantasy XII (PS2): Haven't tried this one out yet. I'm still too busy playing Super Mario Galaxy... Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass: I can't stand the dungeons in Zelda games! >_< I get nervous for no reason. My dad will probably play this game more than me. A hair straightener: No Comment. The Spiderwick Chronicles in one volume: I forgot to put The Chronicles of Narnia on my list!! *smacks head*. but this is good too. ^^ Alex and the Ironic Gentleman I know my dad got this book for me, but it wasn't on my list. I hadn't even heard of the book previously. It's turning out to be pretty good though. And a bunch of presents from my cousins. My parents got a TON of coffee (I can't stand coffee) and I got no hot chocolate mix at ALL. I got some about 2 days later, so it balances out now. ^_^ Overall, best Christmas since I got my GBA, which was like, 4 or 5 years ago...:animestun -
How Did You Come Up With Your Screenname?
aoi_hikari replied to duorocks17's topic in General Discussion
My name comes from the second ending of Chobits. "zutto sagashiteru sotto hikaru aoi hikari..." So yeah...pretty simple, really. -
I didn't know this thread existed until today... O_o I bought Twilight on a whim, and loved every word of it. I read both New Moon and Eclipse in Chapters (^_^) but I'm buying them when they're in paperback. When I read Twilight, I used to visualize Edward as Kaname Kuran (from the Vampire Knight manga), until I realized Edward's hair was reddish brown. Their personalities are just so similar! So when I read the Twilight series, I now imagine Edward as Chihiro Aoi (from Hoshi wa Utau) but with bronze hair. I also visualize Rosalie as Ruka (from Vampire Knight), because she fits Rosalie's description so well.

I strongly dislike the first and sixth openings of Naruto. And pretty much everything done my 4kids. I've got the Tokyo Mew Mew (sorry, Mew Mew Power) theme stuck in my head, and I'm hating every minute of it.
You know, I've never seen him as one in my mind. Ever. *Prepares to be decked by fangirls*
Well, he's a kid after all. But still... T_T *punches* When
Byakuya showed up
, I spontaneously said
YAY! Byakuya~ ^^; It's good to see Hanataro as well. But why Mayuri?! O_o
In Episode 9 (I think)
after Risa got rejected and was saying, "Otani is bear curry!", I laughed AND cried at the same time.
That's the first time I have ever done that. EVER. This anime makes me laugh in almost every episode. Best of all, it's almost entirely in Osaka-ben! ^___^

My day was somewhat fun, but I'm really worried about a lot of things. Example: I have an English skit due in 3 days, and I need to rewrite the script in order for it to have the same theme of a certain short story by Roald Dahl. Problem? Well, my partner is AWOL (i called her house twice and I got this dial up tone thingy... T_T). I also can't email it to her because her comuter crashed and she has no internet. And my woodworking project is crap. So yeah... Suddenly, I feel a bit better.. ^^

Wikipedia Article First episode on Youtube Summary from Wikipedia: In 2026, eleven years after the introduction of internet-connected augmented reality eyeglasses and visors, Yūko Okonogi moves with her family to the city of Daikoku, the technological center of the emerging half-virtual world. Yūko joins her grandmother's "investigation agency" comprised of children equipped with virtual tools and powerful metatags. She quickly crosses paths with Yūko Amasawa, an expert hacker of the virtual environment, as Amasawa relentlessly seeks to gain the powers of a mysterious cyber-entity known as Michiko. The protagonists are driven to unravel the mysteries of the virtual world in the shadow of a powerful hacker that came before them. I originally found out about this series in an article in Newtype.I found it on Youtube recently and started watching it, and I'm really enjoying it. ^_^ Both the opening and ending themes are excellent, there's decent animation and seiyuu work, and an interesting premise as well.

I heard about it on Novastorm and watched it out of curiousity. I'm glad I did! ^_^ The charas are so cute. I think the charas of the supporting characters' charas are cuter than Amu-chan's... This is the first mahou shojo series I've watched since Tokyo Mew Mew.

DS: FF3. I've already finished it once, so I'm replaying from the beginning. PS2: KH2. Finished that already too. ^^ I'm trying to get the special moogle keyblade thingy, but my rank is too low... :( Right now, I'm mostly waiting for all the DS remakes to come out. ^^

I love Gyouza, but don't eat it that often. I was also once addicted to sunflower seeds, but I can't eat them now, because I have braces :( Instant Noodles are also good, but Mr. Noodle's soup base is disgusting. There's this brand called "Sapporo Ichiban" which I really like though. The Chicken flavored one is really good ^o^

Pokemon and Sailor Moon, as usual. After 1st Grade, Pokemon was replaced with Digimon. At that time, I sort of knew it was made in Japan, adn it was different from other cartoons I watched, but I had no idea it was anime Then when I was 10 or 11, my dad showed me My Neighbour Totoro, subbed. I think the reason I started watching Studio Ghibli movies was because of the catbus :animesmil My dad then started downloading fansubs for me, which I watched, and then started buying anime magazines as well. It also helped that my mom was an accoutant for an A&B Sound, so she brought random DVD's for me, like the final volume of Earth Girl Arjuna, because she knew I liked that stuff. Come to think of it, it was my dad who introduced me to a lot of anime sites I still go to, like THEMAnime reviews, and Anime Fringe (which ended in 2005). And my mom continues to buy me manga and anime CD's ^_^.

8.5, I guess. My wireless connection keeps disconnecting on it's own -__- But I was able to quit Kumon, so, no math this summer ^0^.

All the time spent on wikipedia is finally paying off, lol. I understand most of what Konata is saying. Same goes for Lucky Channel, although I forget what Tsundere meant. Akira's mood swings are fun to watch. I pity Sebastian ^^
OUCH. well, with music, i find that a good 95% of people who are into anime can't name 5 japanese bands. if you ask them if they like music, they answer yes, but if you ask what bands, they always answer just "anime endings and game soundtracks" ouch. Does anyone enjoy any bands that havn't been included in an anime ending here?
Try "Hikari" by Zwei. It's excellent. They haven't done themes for anime, as far as I know. I've been a fan of High and Mighty Color ever since I heard "Pride" from Gundam Seed Destiny. I got one of their cds, GOOver for my birthday ^_^ Anyway, favourite groups/soloists... Hikki, Ayu, Crystal Kay, Zwei, High and Mighty Color, Rythem, Home Made Kazoku, Anna Tsuchiya, Mika Nakashima, TM Revolution, Flow, and Mai Yamane. I also like listening to lots of seiyuu, like Romi Paku and Aya Hirano.

First TamaxHaru, KyoxHaru, KaoruxHaru, MorixHaru, then HikaxHaru. I don't ship HunnyxHaru at all... HikaxHaru worked for me while I was still watching the anime, but as I started reading the manga, I slowly got tired of it. KyoxHaru is always interesting, especially in fanfiction. ^_^ As for MorixHaru, I started reading oneshots for it, and became a fan. :animesmil

I watched a fansub of this some time ago and I really liked it, but I forgot the title!! ;_; All I could remember about it was that it was about making bread... One day I saw a blog post with "Yakitate!! Japan" in the title, and I was like, "Hmmm...may as well check it out..." and I saw some screenshots and I was like, "Omg, it's that anime that I wanted to watch that I forgot the name of!! O.O" So yeah. Now I'm watching. I'm only on episode 8 though...

The last game that I bought (or rather, my dad bought and I play sometimes) was Clubhouse Games, which isn't SO bad. I just wish I could play Go on it... :animesigh The last game that I got and actually own, is FF3 DS. I got it for Christmas, and finished it a month ago, or maybe more...

At this point I am expecting either Soul Society to step in somewhere, or a quick save from Urahara and Youruchii. (sp?)
Seeing that there's always been some type of quick save in desperate situations. Maybe I'm taking Ichigo a bit too lightly, but then again, I just don't think he can beat
Ulquiorra[/spoiler'] at the moment.
You make a good point...I can actually see that happening. o_O If that did happen though, I'd be really disappointed.
I wonder if Paku does any singing in Nana? (She plays Nana O., the lead vocalist in a band. Other people sing the openings and endings of the show, so maybe not...)
Paku-san doesn't sing in Nana, they got someone else to provide Nana O's singing voice . God knows why they did that...

My all time favourite seiyuu right now would have to be Tomokazu Sugita. He was great as Kyon and his singing voice is really good. Kyon's version of Hare Hare Yukai was fun to listen to. And then there's Kentai Life Returns (Kyons other character single) which was...interesting...^_^ And then there is Ryotaro Okiayu, the voice of Byakuya from Bleach (^//////^), Shigure Sohma from Fruits Basket, and many other roles. He was SOOOOOO cool as Byakuya!!!! My last male seiyuu that I really like right now is Miyano Mamoru. Why? Watch Ouran and pay attention to Tamaki. XD. I laughed my head of and I'm sure you will too. Favourite female seiyuu: Romi Paku (Ed in FMA, Temari in Naruto). Great job as Ed, although I can't really comment on Temari. Aya Hirano: Great singing voice, and as Haruhi Suzumiya she was excellent. And finally, Reiko Yasuhara. She hasn't got many credits to her name, but as Saki Hanajima from Fruits Basket, she did a great job. Her role in Episode 25 of Fruits Basket still brings chills down my spine. One of the best seiyuu performances I've seen yet. Favourite VA's: Vic Mignogna. I really can't say if I prefered the English version of Ed over the Japanese one. Yup, he's talented. Travis Willingham. When he made the "tiny miniskirts" remark, I cracked up. XD. That was probably the most I have ever laughed when watching a english dub. All the voice actors who work on the Bleach anime are really good. It's probably one of the best dubs out there, apart from Azumanga Diaoh.
