1. lol, kinda late don't you think? Anyway, I went out and bought stuff for my paents with my grandma, then we all sat around the table and built a puzzle while watching TV, and then we watched A Christmas Story which is the greatest thing the 60s and Xmas ever produced, period. Tomooro my grandma's gunna cook the turkey and all. Xmas is pretty much a black comedy at my house because my parents are so very cynical - my dad only does Xmas cuz he knows we look forward to it, and my mom HATES the whole concept and spends the whole time whining about capitalism blablabla. Then my ggrandma is the Christian traditionalist and all, it's a fun combination.
 2.
Oh yea...sorry.I know you say kawaii...or uhh the kawaii substitute. But like...people on Gaia talk like that. And apparently they talk like that in real life too...and wonder why they get picked on.(And apparently they are in peoples faces about it...they are like Trolls in real life...) If it's any consolation you spelling/grammar is infinitely better than theirs.
Spelling and grammar don't really carry over into conversation, though, so i'm probably just as annoying. Though the things I fanboy over no one cares about nor has heard of, so it's pretty pointless, and I'm always yelling (and I do mean yelling) at the other fanboys/girls for not liking what I like an all so... yeah. I'm probablly about that annoying. Especially since I talk very loudly and cuss too much.
 3.
Super Kawaii suskue is so hawt! Man those people are disturbing. I don't know how someone can actually like....act like that in real life.
T_T you wound me.
 4.
Nobody does that. But nobody. Everyone has been influenced to some degree by someone else, whether it be because of someone close to them or because of sociological currents that have been in motion for thousands of years. Case in point: you wear whatever your mother buys you. Barring the "nature versus nuture" question for a moment, you are allowing her to choose your clothes. You may choose to do it, but she's still influencing you on what you wear.
Which is why I view others as extensions of myself :p
 5. Well, I had to help my dad with the Xmas shopping so I already know what everyone's getting and he's currently wrapping all the presents... in the living room XD telling no one to come in, lol. As for the spoils, we'll be getting a Playstation 3, however each my brothers and I have individual gifts to receive... Mine Include: Gankutsuou DVDs volume 5 + 6, Kamichu DVD Box Set, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya volume 4 Special Edition, and Pani Poni Dash DVDs volume 3-6 My brothers Include, for one, Ratchet and Clank: Future Tools of Destruction, Resistance: Fall of Man, Link's Croossbow Trainings, and Nights. The other bro is getting Rock Band for PS3 and maybe Rayman Raving Rabbids 2. anyway, I can't wait till tomorow~
 6.
Probably a little of both. ;) Oh and DEM, I take fake to mean not being true to your tastes and doing things to fit in. For me that would be listening to music I do not enjoy. Probably just another word for poser, someone pretending to be something they are not, regardless of what the deal is.
I get what you mean, I guess being the opposite of that kind of person I hard to believe that people actually exist who exibit that sort of masochistic behavior...
 7. Before claiming to 'do whatever the **** you want' I want you to really think about what you're saying. Do you honestly only do exactly what you want without any influence from others whatsoever? Because Prem, it sounds like you are purposefully grouping yourself with said goth clique and black-werers at your school. The way you put it reminds me of my friend who claims to be individual however wears black and nail polish and such JUST because his friends do, and many of the things he does, he does just to appease his friends. after hanging out with me, I got him to admit his coforming ways and he settled for calling himself a steriotypical 'goth', however like whats-his-name said we are a mix, and my friend does have individuality (which he tends to only show to me, because he knows I don't care, lol) When i say 'I do whatever the **** I want' I mean it exactly as it is I do WHATEVER I want. I listen only to what I find to my liking, I wear whatever I want (which is just whatever my mom buys me) and I say whatever I want to whomever I want (and thus a lot of people don't like me, lol) if you have even the slightest reservation, then you can't honestly say that you do whatever you want. And as for this discussion on 'fake' people, I'm iffy on it. I'm guessing by fake you mean the troup of kids in Dead Kennedys T-shirts with no idea who they are that just bought it because it had guns on it and kids like that. However, if people are buying these products without knowing what these things mean, it doens't make them fake. It just means that they're the sor of person who buys things based on a certain kind of reasoning. I don't think there are 'fake' people because everyone does have a reason for the things they do. If you see their shirt and think it should represent actually listening to the music, that's just your different opinion.
 8.
Hmm I was wondering why so many people in the metal community hate Slayer? I mean besides their new stuff you seem like good legit thrash to me. Oh yea and I heard some Dimmu Borgir while I was searching for a new avatar. Pretty good stuff.
I don't get how you can compare their new and old stuff when it all sounds the exact same. They've basically written one album over the course of 20-odd years, based on what I've heard. In any case I don't mind them, but they aren't worth talking about really...
 9.
More specifically, Deus ex Machina describes the part in a fictional work when a otherworldly figure or symbol (usually an angel or God) resolves a problem.
That's what I always knew it as. And it's my favorite plot device, hehe
 10. I just do whatever the **** I want, period.
 11. I'm with raiha on the hating everyone equally scale, since I'm more than certain everyone has at least done something that indirectly makes me unhappy, though I suppose there are those I hate less than other I.E. my mum and pop and I guess my little brothers. And mabe that guy. Or that guy. you get my drift. Or her. Love... is a weird concept, to say the least. When I think of love, I think of dedication and wholehearted caring which I utterly lack at the moment, sadly. There are people whom I do care about (some of whom are here, such as Fyxe and Prem) but I don't know abuot love... my thoughts on it can be summed up rather well with lyrics from Godfather's Lolipop by Shabutie... "She screamed love is such a strong word, I said what if we took a word, deciphered the innocence and, well, uh, ******?"
 12. The other night I spent about an hour explaining why I named myself 'dogotal boy' to Konata so I very do not want to type the whole thing again. However, I remembered that I'm currently calling myelf Deus ex Machina so I'll explain that. Deus ex Machina is one of my favorite terms evar and the name of many cool things (such as a very awesome song by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez) but I chose it as my username because of a character in the manga Mirai Nikki. Deus is this bug *** shaman lookin dude who is essentially god and gives the main character his powers. Because of my beliefs that I am at the center of the universe and thereby, in fact, god, I named myself Deus ex machina, because I can do anything.
 13. Thank god I'm bored out of my mind, because this list ought to be so massive your eyes will melt while reading. Assuming I even decide to do a list - you see, I never finish games. Like, ever. Back in 2004/5 i was hugely into gaming and buying the things constantly, at first focused on whatever was popular but eventually fining my niche in JRPGs. Now, of course there are plenty of games that I never intended to finish or got sick of but at this point, I'e sold all the games I never intend to play again, keeping only what I sincerily belive I will one day complete, even though I know that's a fat ugly lie. Now over the years there has been a lot of game-trading over the years from my brother and I so when I write lists like this I often get confused because there are games that I had on my 'get around to' llist that my brother actually got around to and we traded at some point. that's how he ended up with a lot of my RPGs - he'd actually play them to completion if he got into them and if he liked them, I eventually traded them to him. Not to get it confused, there are still a ton of games he owns that he hasn't beaten. I'd like to start with the Final Fantasy games because at some point I owned ALL of the final fantasy games and currently I have NEVER completed a final fantasy game. Te closest I came was Final Fantasy the remake on the GBA which I was almost done finishing my bestiary before going to the final level, however before I could ever go there i lost my copy of FF 1+2 and was never able to finish. FF3 my bro got for DS and neveer beat, and I actually never have owned 4. Sidstepping 5 and 6 which I never got into, 7 was one where I got to the end of disk 1 before ambiguously putting it down and simply never playing it again. Same goes for 8 when I was somewhere on disk 2. Final Fantasy 9 is the only final Fantasy that I ever genuinely got involved in, enjoyed, was interested, and engrossed in. I played like crazy till I got on the third disk and majorly ****** up. At a part here I had to take 2 characters to a dungeon where you can't use magic I wasn't paying attention and chose Vivi and Zidane, and thanks to poor level design there is nowhere to buy items in that level, and no way to go back, so I royally ****** myself over. X is the one my brother got to the final boss in but never could beat and gave up (or bought another game and stopped caring) I also had X2 but never played it since I wanted to beat X,, sold them both recently thouhg. and 12 I just never got into enough. Moving on, I will start by simply listing the games in my collection that I supposedly intend to play but haven't beaten: Star Ocean 2, Metal Gear Solid the Twin Snakes, Metroid Prime, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Fable, Ninja gaiden, Tenchu, Atelier Iris, Devil May Cry 3, Disgaea, Disgaea 2, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Shadow Hearts From the New World, La Pucelle Tactics, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner Raidou Kuzunoa Versus the Soulless Army, Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3, and Xenosaga (even without the games I traded, there were a few more for a LONG time that I only recently sold, such as Star Ocean Till the end of Time which I could never play for very long before getting pissed at the battle sysem and quitting). So most of those are FF7 copy and paste, where I was playing it, put it down, and just never got back to it, however, there are a few that I still feel the need to explain, not including Persona 3 which I'm suppopsedly still playing, soon as I get the time. Shadow Hearts Covenant is the most important because this is one of my favorite games ever, but the problem is the final boss is un-****ing-possible unless you've completed a bunch of side quests which I was too lazy to do. I tried to beat him but could never even put much of a dent in him which pissed me the hell off - I was playing the game because I loved the story and really wanted to get it over with and I'm not the type to dick around on side missions when I'm right near the epic finale. Since I could never beat him eventually the file got deleted in the endless struggle for memory card space, but I still want to go back and play the game again and beat the damn thing. Disgaea may well be my favorite game of all time, but ever since I first got it I've only ever played it in increments. There have been times where I played it consistently for a few days in a row, but mostly it's been that I pop t in on a whim for an hour or 2 and then forget about it again for a good long while. The time that I got into it the most was a few years ago when I was listening to all the songs that were on my computer that I had never heard before. I discovered the band Tool that way and listened to them while playing disgaea for a while. After that, when I was eally into music I made it a custom that whenever I had a new CD I would lisen to it while playing Disgaea as a sort of welcoming into my collection. That tradition doesn't exist anymore but it used to be great fun, because somehow everything sounded better when I was playing Disgaea. then there's Xenosaga, which I have neither played a large amount of time nor played in a few years. however, there was once a very close friend I had who was a very big fan of Xenosaga and Star Ocean, so I had always intended to beat those games to impress her, or whatever my goal was supposed to be. Anyway, I always place great importance on beating those 2 but the bottom line is that I suck at them and sold SO, but I really enjoyed Xenosag when I did play it, so I still hope to finish it on that magical day when I actually play all these ****ing games. 14.
That's just sad, really. I hope you're not suggesting that pop music in general is empty garbage - you need a serious music history lesson if you believe that. "Mainstream" (depending on how you interpret it) doesn't necessarily equate to "bad". I think we have to be very careful not to dismiss relevant art and relevant artists in our quest to be cool, or at least, to somehow represent that we're doing something different or unique. And guys, seriously, whatever you think of Gwen Stefani...I don't see why we should devote an entire thread to bashing her personally. She's a person at the end of the day - a person who none of you actually knows, so you really aren't in a position to judge her character. There are plenty of celebrities that I don't like (in terms of their art), but I would never sit there and go on and on about how much I hate them personally. If I don't know them personally, how can I hate who they are? As I said before, hate is a very strong word. All of the hot air in this thread is only serving to kill brain cells as far as I'm concerned, lol.
My response to all of that can pretty much be summed up with 'as far as I'm concerned' and left at that, seeing as listing off exceptions and noting how exceptional they are defeats the purpose of generalizing in the first place, that's why they're called exceptions, so yes I know all about the value of pop and everything, please don't misjudge me to be an utter twit, I just want to get my point across in regards to why I don't like gwen stefani and the sort of croud she creates. And as for Gwen, I live by the policy that my reaction to others is based only on how they efect my life directly, and since the only interaction I have with Gwen Stefani, as indirect as it may be, is by way of her music or television appearance or the reactions that other peole have to them, namely my mum, so I'm more than happy to catalogue her in my mind as 'annoying' because that's my impression of our interaction, and I call her 'ugly' for the same reason because my tastes are obviously not aimed in that direction. And for the love of god, Lunox, and other people here really need to learn to do this as well, why can't you just say 'sorry for misjudging you' and leave it be, you have to keep trying to find a way to make your moot point. It's more than obvious I don't give a flying **** how 'fake' you think Hirano Aya is, nor do I caer how fake she probably actually is, she's cute, whatever. Contradicting myself is something I'm more than fine with, I hate fake *******, and there are some exceptions, just like there are to the atrocity of pop music, who gives a damn. now kindly get over yourself and let me have my damn opinon without a whole bunch of badgering dickheads telling me that what I'm dong is wrong. And that's right about why i compared it to a white neighboorhood, where everyone has their little notion that they know exactly what's right and can sit on their highhorses laughing at anyone with a little disagreeable angle on things. When it's one guy, he's always the town boob, but the minute it's another rich white bloke on a high horse it's a 'debate' and we all take it seriously. Personally, I find the whole system to be smug and disgusting, but I'm not one to move away because I don't like some of my neighboors, especially whne there are enough of the opnionless housewives running around keeping me entertained.
 15.
Um, the harem thread from a while ago. I think you were the one of the first to respond, and guess what... you posted a picture of a Japanese girl! Stop trying to cover your tracks if you can't hide them.
So I just automatically like asian celebrities because I found ONE voice actress cute? You know this site is a lot like a white neighborhood sometimes...
 16.
I think it's funny how you think Japanese celebrities are pretty if you're so against "fake-***" beauty. Congratulations, you like the most superficial, painfully fake, and plastic surgery-filled celebrities in the world. Have a super-fun kawaii time.
Since when do i think Japanese celebrities are pretty? Where the hell are you pulling this from? EDIT: For clarification's sake, I like gothy white girls the best >_>
 17.
Age gives you the wisdom to realize people who rage against conformity or popular society sound just as dumb as people mired in conformity or popular society when put side by side with those persons. Those wishing to open their eyes to this fact should read the latter portion of this thread.
I don't rage against conformity by any means. I rage against what people are currently conformed to, preffering that they conform to something of my liking because I'm a winy little ***** with a god complex. As for reading the rest of this thread, I can't because the worst grammar in the world is beating me on both sides of the head.
 18.
It's hard to get more mainstream than Rush.
Well, when i say mainstream I mean everyone-and-their-virtual-grandma is tuned in, more specifically the youth of the US or people I have to deal with, none of which seem to have ever heard of Rush judging by the reactions to my T-shirts and badgering, so as far as I'm concerned they aren't as mainstream as they damn well ought to be, otherwise the annoying girls in the back of the bus would be squealing about a brilliant red barchetta from a better, vanished time rather than about whether or not their a ****ing hollaback girl, which is still a term I lack understanding of.
 19. Well, a good 3 or so years ago I thought myself a badass in the kitchen, because at the time I was almost alwas making dinner for my brothers and I. Most of fit was simplistic things like Homestyle Bake meals which, if you know how to follow directions, are really damn easy but I thought I was some kind of master chef and my parents were always praising my cooking (but they're the tye to praise everything I do ^^;;) so I was getting very into it, and made a point to let everyone know when I'd made my dad's birthday meatloaf and such (of course, not letting it be known until it'd been verified that it was considered enjoyable, which I was always delighted to find was the case) and for a while I had 'chef' on my list of ideas for my future. Alas, I didn't take long to basically stop caring though I can still cook a mean whatever-the-hell, I've just gotten monumentally lazy over the past 3 years. When my mom will be getting home early enough, she cooks, when my dad is home early enough, he usually gets everyone Tv dinners though occasionally he'll cook if it's something he knows how to do, and if he's feeling generous it's a jaunt to the nearest fastfood joint, however in the common case that they aren't home I am to fend for my brother's and I. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times we've eaten cheese and shells and some meat side dish (meatloaf, salisbury, rib, they all take about 12 minutes in the microwave) and ever since my brother realised that unlike my impatient self, he knew exactly how long to churn the noodles it's become a team effort between us to make dinner a lot of te time, though it's just as often that we find a stock of random easily prepared crap stockpiled about. During the summer months (and times when I knock my sleep schedule in weird directions) I find myself cooking a LOT more because when I'm alone I somehow find it necessary to prepare myself something special. I started with grilled cheese making myself grilled cheese so often that I became virtually addicted to grilled cheese and eventually decided to start making scrambled eggs to go with it, so it slowly evolved into a bowl with eggs and grilled cheese that I had every morning when my dad woke up jealous of the smell. I have a very methodic approach to cooking, always creating certain systems for myself to guage the readiness of everything. For instance I mastered the art of cooking grilled cheese by timing the cooking with how many times I could do a round of my house using different paces until I found the right pace that, upon my second emergence in the kitchen, would be the perfect time to flip the sandwhich, and another timer for the time it took to complete. (If you're interested, time to flip was 2 rounds having gone upstairs to touch my mom's bathroom door, and time to completion was another 2 rounds of the bottom half of the house.) These systems are usually a lot of fun and lead my mother to wonder why the **** I'm skipping gaily about at 7AM when she's stuggling out of bed. (yes, I skip.)
 20.
1. Gwen Stefani is gorgeous. 2. You will never be able to say 'kawaii' without looking stupid. You do realize Asians hate it when people do that?
1. No, she's hideous. Along with all the fake-*** hollywood *******. 2. Like I give a **** how they feel about it. And Kam, as for taking the time to hate her, it's a hatred that only manifests for entirely brief time periods in which her sound impedes on my peace by way of whatever angular situation. And because my mother is a pop culture deity who sees fit to bash on whoever celebrity's face flitters aross the screen long enough for her to spew rabid insults, and when I'm in a chatty mood to bond with my mom, we do so over celeb-bashing and if there's one whore my mom hates more tan any it's likely Gwen for wearing ugly dresses and ruining Alice in Wonderland (my mom's faovrite movie) and Fiddler on the Roof (her favorite musical) though be damned if it isn't a fickle hate because she and her she-friends will dance their ***** off to If I Were a Rich Girl every time they've had more than a sip to drink, but fickle hate is hate nonetheless, and something I have in surplus cuz I'm an agsty lil' bastard. Now if you'll excuse me I'll be listening to 2112 and reassuring myself that people who listen to mainstream music can be likened to enjoying having sandpaper scraped across their eardrums.
 21.
You know Leon is a man, right? You know Ion is a man, right? XD But he sounds and looks like a girl, lol
Number one, yes. Number 2, I didn't but I suddenly have an abundance in interest in the cahracter. You didn't know I was a huge fan of traps? (you must not've been around when I had the trap sigs and avvys lol) That anise one is REALLLY cute, very CLAMP-esque if I may say so. The Yuki one looks a lot like Genis from Tales of Symphonia cosplaying FWR lol still cute though.
 22. Wow!!! I'm amazed, I expected poor things from what you said in the angst post, but therse are all really good! I want to break down each individually. The Fate/Stay Night one is spot on. I hadn't read the note on it and thought you were doing a doujin XD couldn't read some of it because the text is small, but very well done (though I guess that seems like I'm praising the original artist lol.) I'm not a fan of realism, so I can't say if the silent hill one is 'good' or 'bad' because realistic stuff alwas just looks 'creepy' to me XD The Tsukihime montage is pretty cool, though the weird red light under knifegirl is pretty distracting. It looks like they were meant to be the life-lines but I can't really tell =_= otherwise I like pics you used. Cosplay Royal is awesome XD Is.... is that shadow Yuki?! You really got Bleach's style captured with the bookmark, but I want to hurry alongto my personal faorite, Leon Magnus (whom I don't actually know of) in a bunny suit. Put simply, color me turned on :animeblus Fon Master Ion looks great all except for the enormous hand, lol. Her face is adorable :catgirl: I also like the Haruhi gals, especially mikuru who just looks too cute!!! I'm not sure what it is you don't like about that Aono pic! It looks amazing, one of the best works up there - the coloring is really great and it really captures the feel of her character (from the little Sola that I did watch).
 23. Never said it made me 'cool' it's just something I do and don't want to be associated with Gwen Stefani, I'd rather be associated with greasy Japan-humping otakudom.
 24.
2 face shots done. im surprised as side on is usually my worst style... but its endend up looking most like the character! lol oh well again tell me what you think. new poses should be up shortly:animeswea
lol, I'm glad you're doing it, but since you're not really allowed to double post, just wait till you're done to tell me about it :p/
 25. I'll study the situation for a minute before I do anything. Chances are, if I actually noticed something like this, it means I'm not in a rush, because when I'm focused on something I'm completely blind to the rest of the universe. However, if I'm sitting there or standing around and notice a kid crying, I'll be helping him shortly, but I might want to wait a little bit to make sure it doesn't resolve itself. I don't drive or anything, so I've never had the whole roadside opportunity, however I suppose I help people in places like school. If someone's trapper keeper explodes, I'll help them pick it up, unless I'm on my way to lunch. In which case, and this has happened, I will kindly strategically dodge all of their things and proceed, because I am a machine when I'm on my way to lunch and it would take an act of god to end my shark-like forward pushing. But I digress. My pops is a big helper, he will stop to help anyone in need, always willing to do his part. And it comes back to him as well because people are always helping him. Such as the other day when his ipod shuffle discharged from his being whilst running and landed somewhere in the bushes, a man was kind enough to pull over and assist his search - they combed the place down finding no sign of it, but the effort was likely appreciated. I'd say my pops gets about the best karma in the universe, on the account of his overwhelming selflessness.
