1. I agree with the stuff you guys said... so now I have a question. What can be done to change these problems?
2. We need government to survive and control because people are corrupt... but then the government is corrupt as well. And we want less controlling governments but when people get out of control, we blame the governments. The corruption of humanity and government turns in an endless cycle. The question is: how can it be helped?
3. The pear in the basket started rotting. XD all the food'll deteriorate by the time they get to granny's Just the word 'Jokopokonocchio' made me laugh. It's fun to say... I keep saying it over and over again. "Joko the giant killer" reminds me of the Robotech game... because you play as Jack and your enemies are 40-feet tall so he calls himself "Jack the giant killer" Also, the part where DW enters is funny, but he needs more lines! Show more DW!
4. I think men are just generally jackasses. At least in America, I duno about the rest of the world. Guys just straight-up suck for the most part. I mean some guys are cool, like most of the guys here, but a lot of them are just wastes of space.
5. The Mars Volta - Omar A Rodriguez-Lopez is the greatest musician ever. He can make about any noise with a guitar and he writes all of the brilliant music of the Mars Volta. These dudes are known for long dragged out musical pieces of total trip-rock. Their songs are just damn magical. Each of their CDs tell a story, though you prolly won't be able to figure them out unless you really study. Cedric Bixler-Zavala, the lyricist, is known for using big words you don't understand, analogies, and all kinds of uber-crazy stuff. He wrote a short story to tell the tale of their first album De-Loused in the Comatorium, and it's a masterpiece itself. Cedric is also known for his uberly high-pitched voice.
6. Name: KKC Profile: Here Last Seen - Sometime in 2003 Why? KKC was cool and fun. She hated me... a LOT for ruining some Zoids RP XD I miss her being around, though. She was a .hack fan too, I remember joining the 'We hate BP' clup :P What's strange is, her profile says shes been gone 2 years but I could swear she was here more recently...
7. My cousin and I were on google and managed to find this place. I liked it cuz it seemed so different from the other forums. Plus there were .hack fans and cool RPs. I made friends with Ryoko T.D.C. and Double_B_Daigo and decided to stay :animesmil
8. Okay, so a lot of the time I'll be on OB and talking in one of the threads discussing peoples' names and realize someone is someone and I never knew. For example, when I first joined OB the first person I ever talked to was Double B Daigo who was so nice as to let me join his Trigun RPG even though not only did I never sign up, but it was already 3 pages long. Anywho, I practically idolized him. He knew Tai-kwon-do, did awespme battles, and was fun to talk to. When I stopped hearing from him about 3 years ago I was sad and always wondered what happened. And then 2 days ago I found out he's The Boss and has been here THE WHOLE TIME!!! Also, I had wondered for a while who was Athena/Goddess because everyone seemed to know her and I had never even heard of her, then lo-and-behold, she turns out to be Annie who I used to RP with! Did any of you have similar experience? I mean I only just found out that Gavin was Red XIII... mayybe I'm just behind, but someone else musta gone through this!!!
9. O_O ZOMG they cut off their hands!!! D_W your comics are so great... you really should sell them, I just know people would buy.
10.
So to stay on topic, I guess I'll say [b]pirate.[/b'] I mean, that's obvious (*cough*Custom title*cough*) and c'mon, Jack Sparrow is the shiz. The new pirates movie comes out in a matter of days now and I am psyched, as is a wide portion of the world. I don't recall a ninja movie being as big of a hit as POTC ;) Savvy? Pirates win. Arr, shove that in your cannon, yo!
D_W you're the reason I want to be a pirate. I'd join your crew anyday. Anyway, after some deliberation I decided that, if following the customs of real pirates or ninjas, either one would suck to be. But if your a POTC pirate, it'd be grand! And if your a DOA ninja, it'd also be fun!
11. Name: Guy Whose name I Can't Remember Profile: N/A Last Seen: ??? Why? Okay... there was a guy who came here a few years ago back when I first started here in OB. He was a huge fan of Big O and hellsing... I can even remember his avatar... I just can't remember his name!!! I looked through the whole Member List and couldn't get ti!!! He did a lot of battles (back when the battle area existed) and him and I fought together and ended D_B_D's Trigun RP. he was always fun to fight against and realy cool... just don't know the name!!! Also, Transatic, who said anything about a few months?
12.
Does anyone here really even know any old OB memebers? I mean, a few months isn't old... i can name people from 3 years ago.... I'd bring back Sephiroth... not that anyone whos anyone would remember him. I think he's number 6 in posts behind me....
If we didn't, would we be posting? That doesn't make any sense...
13. *wondering why the tale of Blackbeard vs. blackcatsuit hasn't been brought up* I would be a pirate. Ninja is too risky. I love stealthkills and being the ultimate human fighting force, but the training, the people you work for and the high death rate all scare me. Bring a pirate is much more laid back and fun. I wanna gut ye wit me cutlass...
14. Member: Chichiri's Girl Profile: here Last seen: According to the profile 5-13-06 but she must've not posted. Why? She was a good friend of mine on OB. I think we did some RPs together and posted on a lot of the same subjects. We had really fun AIM conversations, too. She was one of the first online friends I ever had.
15. Neon Genesis Evangelion - The greatest anime ever. Ultimate battle scenes, great characters, amazing visual effects, and a disturbing sense of realism. Plus it'll play mind games with you and may give you a whole new outlook on life.
16. Yami Yugi: And now it's time to tell you about mean nasty guy! Arch anemy and rival of wonder boy! Yugi: And what kind of powers do you got? Yami: How bout the power of flight?! That's levitation holmes! Yugi: how's that treating you? Yami: How about the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away... WITH MIND BULLETS! That's telekenisis Yugi! How about the power... to move you?
17. well, I'd say I been through some major changes my 4 years at OB... a long and bumpy road indeed. Tical (origional) - As Tical, I wasn't just a n00b. I was a power n00b. Meaning I rained destruction on the whole of OB without any idea that I was doing anything wrong (mods weren't as strict back then). Then I resurfaced some ancient threads and got banned for it :P Anime_Forever888 - My cousins profile he let me use. Wasn't so different from Tical - not the best poster and hardly noticed by most other than my friends. At the same time I had this I made my bro a profile, but he didn't know how to type so I did it for him. Metal_Sonic 700 - On this profile I increased my post quality tenfold and used a lot of big words cuz I wanted to get into Drix d'Zanth's smart people club XD Any way, those two were banned eventually. Kyo no Ryu - This was my first time as just an average OBer. I went for a long time and had some good friends. Dabbled in all over the place and did a bunch of RPs. Fun time. Eventualy, though, catastrophe struck when I lost my password. So I formed some other account and told the mods 'yo I been cheating you' and they IP banned me. Eventually the IP wore off and I created the profile I'm using now. That One Odd Dude - At this time my post quality had finally gotten good as I now knew what was expected. I pretty much only ever posted in the video game sections. Thorax The Impaler - Also was mostly in the video game section, but I started to go a little to the lounge as well. Hug Monster - Under this name I got excessively frilly, and I made almost all posts in the Otaku Lounge. Nomad Tical - Under the alias Nomad Tical I did a helluva lot of posting in the Anthology area. I helped turn it into the most active forum on the OB back around January. It was a good run. Tical - Now I go everywhere, making most contributions to the music thread. EDIT: I decided to dive into the etymology of each title of mine. Tical - Tical is the name of the first character I ever made up. Back when I was eight I had a video game idea called 'Puzzling' in which enemies are created from puzzles. It was vvery intersting and had a unique story with Zelda-esque gameplay. Anywho, you played as machete-weilder Tical. The name stuck with me and has been used as the main character in almost all the stories I've written. Also, in Puzzling, the country Tical was from was called Kiala, a name I have used for female charcters in a lot of my recent works. Anime Forever - My cousin and I had this thing where we would always scream 'Anime Forever!!!' back when we were going throuhg our anime phase. Every time we ended a conversation or he went home, we would call out ANIME FOREVER! Anyway, that's why he used it. Metal Sonic 700 - As you can guess, this comes from Sonic villain Metal Sonic. My bro is a HUGE Sonic fan so I said he should use it. MS is actually more my favorite character than his, but we had just seen the movie so MS was like a godly character. 700 he claims is his favorite # I don't know why. Kyo no Ryu - Now that I know a decent amount of Japanese, I know that this translates to "Kyo's Dragon." At the time, though, I thought it meant "Kyo the Dragon." Nowadays I use it as the title of a weapon. Kyo no Ryu is the 1st blade of the BAH (Big *** Halberd) and is a short, fat sword with a talking dragon wrapped around it. The blade can drain anything, even lifeforce or existence. That One Odd Dude - People have called me weird, crazy, strange... all sorts of things, but I don't fit any of them by definition. The word I used to describe myself by is 'odd' and so I wanted people to remember me as 'that one odd dude.' Thorax The Impaler - In one episode of Xplays mini-series 'Bob And Steve' Steve begins calling himself Thor-axe the impaler. It was really cool, so I used the name. I left off the 'e' cuz I thought names couldn't have more than 15 letters. Hug Monster - I was going through a phase >_> ? Nomad Tical ? - At the time, I thought of myself as a lone wanderer -- a nomad -- and I felt I was on a sort of mental journey. The ? symbol is what I consider to be my official symbol. When I found out the pprigional Tical profile had disappeared, I got my name changed back. Thanks to Dagger for doing all these changes for me ;)
18.
I find it funny that an Agnostic is defending Christianity.
If you mean me, I am no agnostic. I have my own beliefs. Also, in response to the comments that the Bible is a guidbook -- does that mean there is no god?
19.
What's preventing a sophisticated society from articulating something in the form of a metaphor? Jesus spoke in parables to let peasants understand his revolutionary message, could this not be the same?
Yes, it could. But if your willing to admit the bible could be paraphrsed in parts, yo uare willing to admit it could all be paraphrased. And in such a case, there is no way of knowing what the hell it all means.
20. If you want to know why I don't think there is a god, it's cuz I can't believe it. It just seems so unreal... so impossible. I mean go read a novel and read the bible and there aint much difference. It just seems so unlikely. And like the whole Egyption god thing. I mean, just cuz you believe something doens't make it true. There could be a god. who knows? Why argue?
21.
P.S. Am i the only one who enjoys how much Tical purposefully pisses you all off?
Oh please no, don't do that. I really just want peace, I am so tired of religeous debate. It doens't matter how much you argue, if a christian is devout enough that he will stand against you, he/she isn't going to fall. Arguing is POINTLESS your pont is POINTLESS. Everything anyone does is POINTLESS so there's no reason to make each other miserable.
22.
By saying that Christianity is a cult, you are basically in turn saying all world relegions are cults. Which is complete crap, Tical. I mean honestly, the way you present your ideas seriously bring down the opinions you're trying to convey. You're definetly not going to get a positive "I accept your difference" reply from anybody by being so rudely blunt or by saying that anything that has to deal with something unscientific is crap and ridiculous to believe in. I find it furtherly hilarious that your banner/avatar depicts an anime which draws heavily from Christianity and Judaic prophecies for it's entire plot. Apparently, the creator of that saw something you didn't that inspired him to create such an epic. On that note, here is my reason for believing in relegion: How can our world and society be a product of a random chance? Why would humans go past the state of basically animalistic needs in their society? What makes us so much different from any other 'animal'? Why do we alone have the creative mindset required to produce literature, music, art, philosophy, and politics? Why are we the only animal's on Earth that search for the answers of life? Does this help us in any form of surivival? Does this help us last longer? Do these things make our lives easier? No. They have zero primal survival worth, but they, instead, seem to be blessings upon our minds. Something to make our lives worth living and to inspire us to see the beauty in the life given to us. Heh, in my eyes, if there were no God, I don't really think we would have society, because if you look at the other beings that are, in our relegion, not made in God's image, they seem to be perfectly satisfied with living in the wilderness. So, if there is no God, then why do humans even bother enjoying things that otherwise don't matter in our survival? I mean, wouldn't that just be a waste of time? I just couldn't find the point in living if there was no possibility that there is something beyond death. I just couldn't believe that we are, and always have been, completely alone in our world. I just can't believe that our world, society, and great civilization is all product of a simple cosmic rolling of the dice. But that's me, and these are my beliefs. I won't hate, dislike, or criticize anyone based on their beliefs, but I will defend my own.
woah woah woah!!! All that stuff in the quotation marks wasn't my actual opinion! I was just giving an example! All I said was 'there is no god,' nothing else. Anyway, I never said I wasn't interested in religeon. I'm really into it, I read a lot of religeous and christian books.
23.
EDIT: By the way Tical, Boo might have said it a little rudely, but your first post was crap. Maybe if you had said everything from your second post then...? Forgive me.
I just don't see any reason to drag out my answer with unnecessary babbling I could have gone so far as to say like. "God couldn't be real it's totally unproven. The bible was written in ancient times just to start a cult. Jesus was just a martyr. It's unbelieveable that so many people could follow such obvious crap. This is the most obvious sign that humanity is stupid bla bla bla" but really, that akes things complicated and hurts a lot of feelings. We've heard it all a million times and it's stupid. My answer is there is no god and that's all I need to say to get my point across.
24.
Ignore the above. Like you should do with most of Tical's posts, seeing as they lack terribly in quality and in actual useful information. You can see those "Seven Days" as seven eras. Each day could for example be a few million years. It actually even connects a bit with the actual evolution of the Earth's inhabitants and all. A bit.
That's a straight-up flame. Not the best quality yourself, now is it? Anyway, how many of my posts have you even read? Seriously? Anyway, the perfectly clear explaination for all your questions is that there is no god. I'm not trying to hate on Christianity or anything, I'm not asking why you believe it and I'm not saying your dumb for believing it. I respect your beliefs highly. Hopefully, you also respect mine. I was asked a question 'why does this not make sense' and my answer was 'cuz there's no god'. Why am I being attacked for answering a question when that is what was requested?
25. Well, the answer is quite obvious: there is no such thing as god. That simple.
