I've had two dangerous boogie-boarding incidents, but one in particular was crazy. I went under the wave and immediately my face was planted in the shell-covered sand. the rest of my body continued to move, almost snapping my neck. Then another wave came and throttled me. I thought I was dead for a few seconds, then my face started to hurt >_<

For the most part, I love a good story. A game with a great story is instantly cool, although these are becoming increadibly rare. When it comes to an action game, it all depends on how fun it is to tear something to shreds in the most flashy way. Games like DMC and Onimusha where there is a lot of skill involved or God of War where you beat the shapoopy outta stuff are fun. Also, I like games which are just plain cool. To be precise, games with cinema-like quality, but not regular cinema, I mean cool cinema. Like kill bill or Eva. The first games which come to mind are MGS and ZOE.

Writing Neon Genesis Evangelion - Worlds in conflict [PG-VL]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Doublehex's topic in Creative Works
wow! That's friggin awesome dude! I love Eva, and your story is great. Nice fight scene, and I'm guessin there's gunna be some romance between Asuka and Shinji? -
I've got a few, but here's the first that comes to mind. It was when I was 6 years old and my family had recently moved into a new house with an above-ground pool. We had just finished cleaning it, but it was already night time, so we just decided to go in for a little bit. My bro (5) and I went in and were standing near the wall, the water being about 3 feet deep (i was about 4' tall). I look at my mom and go 'I'm going in the middle, if I start drowning, you gotta save me' and she goes 'well, you should try to save yourself.' Ironically, the pool gets way deep all of a sudden and I shoot down. I was underwater struggling for nearly a full minute, but then I felt something grab me. What's funny is, and I'll never forget this, te first thought that goes through my head is "HELP! I'M DROWNING AND BEING KIDNAPPED!" but really my mom had just jumoed in and saved me XD
I've noticed that when some members become mods, they become more withdrawn[/i'] from the community. .
I have seen this too, and it sort of concerns me, because it's weird when you get a wrning or a thread closed from someone you don't even know exists.

Nothin really special, I just want a cool looking banner with shinji Ikari, prefferedly in his normal white collared shirt. If you do one of those sexy photoshop backgrounds, please make it this color. Also, I'd like the name Tical placed on them somewhere. Thanks in advance.

Waitaminute... there's a behind-the-scenes uprising on OB? WTF? Seriously people, go get a girlfriend or something! I can't believe the friggin Otakuboards has political parties. That's madness. And anyway, what on Earth good is it doing behind-the-scenes? Wouldn't you have to take action if you wanted reform? Maybe I just don't know enough about the group. I am reminded of when I was mad about being banned the forst time and wanted to plot a scheme to take over and rule OB... those were the days XD Anywho, I think the mods of OB are fine and upstanding and do their job, and should not be descriminated against by how long they've been here. EQUALITY PEOPLE, LIVE IT.

What OtakuBoards members would you like to meet?
2010DigitalBoy replied to Boo's topic in General Discussion
well, I'd definitely like to meet kuroinuyoukai since she's a close frined of mine, though she isn't really on OB anymore. I'd like to meet Dragon Warior so that I can worship the ground he stands on. Also, I guess I'd like to meet Ziggy Cignus just cuz he's cool. :catgirl: -
Anime What anime character resembles you most?
2010DigitalBoy replied to PaganAngel's topic in Otaku Central
I am most like Shinji Ikari from Neon eneesis Evangelion. I do what I'm told, always apologize for everything, and put others above me. The only thing to varify my existence is the good I do for others. I am also like Piro from Megatokyo in mostly the same respect, though Piro and I are both fanboys who are embarrased to talk to girls, but care very deeply about them. Also, I have a little bit of Yuna from FFX and Colette from Tales of Symphonia in that both of them also do the apology thing, and they would give their lives to save the world. -
Well, obviously this is a song about a person or people on a long journey to find paradise, but they don't seem to be there yet. It really does match the show. How does it make me feel? Well... it doesn't really tap into my emotions because I can't really relate.

Art Slackers In Slacks [UPDATED DAILY]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
OMG dude, Eegad is friggin brilliant! XD You and White have to be the kings of funny... and the kings of saying something which means 2 things, -
I usually enjoy manga when it can create a creative blen of genres. For instance -- I love drama because I like to see strong character developement. But at the same time, I am not a big fan of things that are ultra-modern. For instance, I don't like it to take place in modern day in a regular town unless they spice it up with lots of extra-terrestrial or zany activity. What I also like is fantasy, but not your run-of-the-mill fantasy stories -- they have to be unique and creative, and branch out, like King of Bandits Jing. Unfortuanetally, these series often lack good character development. So really, I am quite picky about which stories are my absolute favorite -- albeit I do love ALL genres -- but to pick specific ones, I'd rather go with individual anime. Neon Genesis Evangelion Fullmetal Alchemist Fooly Cooly Those three make up a genre which I will simply refer to as 'my favorite genre'
I personally have never gone through depression, because I have a way of getting around it. Whenever I have a reason to be depressed, I just convince myself otherwise. "No, you're not lonley, you're umm... a introvert." "No, you're not getting bad grades because you're stupid, you're getting them because the system keeps screwing YOU over." Pretty much that's it... I don't get depressed because there's nothing to get depressed about if you convince yourself otherwise. Always thinking of excuses, that's me!
i wouldn't call those excuses. They are merely truths you created. As long as you believe them to be true, they are true, correct?
Well. depression sucks. I take meds for mine. I've had the "phycological" depression for about a year now. In any case just find something fun to do! Alone or with someone. Preferablywith someone! Hope it gets better.
I'm no phychiatrist, but I think things like medication where you rely on an outside force to help your emotions is kinda... I dunno... bad. I think you get more out of it if you help yourself. Turn that hell into a learning experience.
-
Deoression is scary. I have fought this battle plenty of times, often at my own will. It is a difficult thing to analyze, because the cause of depression is so varying. In any event, try watching Neon Genesis Evangelion all the way through (and make sure it's uncut because I hear CN took some eps out) it helps a lot IMO

Firstly, what the hell the gothicscreemo??? Secondly, I have to agree that screaming is very annoying ut hey, kids like what they like. Sometimes even I like to just throw on a Slipknot CD and just thrash The problem I see is that emo sucks musically. These kids tend to have next to no talent. And they also tend to be wusses trying to sound angry but just coming off as... well... emo. I guess I just have a hard time rockin out to something belted out by some wuss in girl pants >_> And whoever said the stuff about the demon lyrics... I think you should do a bit more research on these kinds of bands. Although undeniably there are satanic bands like say Satyricon, but they pretty much just sing about evil to seem dark and foreboding. It works, my mom loves it.

I apologize in advance for any feelings I am about to hurt. To anyone who wishes to cut off gays/lesbians right to be married: **** you. How the hell would you like it if I stepped up to you and told you that you couldn't marry the person you love because someone doesn't like it? Would you push your tail between your legs and accept it? Why the **** should anyone else? By the way, what in the hell happened to 'seperation of church and state?' And I really would like to know where someone finds the capicity to judge someone based on their sexuality. That, my friends, is DESCRIMINATION, the downfall of human society -- the thing that causes more hatred than any other thing -- and I don't know about you, but to me that is the ultimate sin.

Art Slackers In Slacks [UPDATED DAILY]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
XD! Just as funny as ever! I love em, D_W the Great. Confessions Of A Teenage Slacker was my favorite. I was glad to be able to laugh after having a bad day. *starts singing 'bad day'* -
I can't help but wonder if death is mechanical. Everything in the body is controlled by electronic impulses moving through the body. If these impulses end, you die. So... what happens when a machine stops working? It doesn't float up to heaven, does it? Just like everything else on the planet that moves or lives, we operate by a set configuration. Really, how can we say that we will transcend and our microwave will not? If an appliance ceases to work, does it die? If a human ceases to work, does it not just lie there useless until someone throws it away? I wonder what it really means to be living. Honestly, who is to say that such thing as a soul even exists?

Undeniably, this is the highest quality forum I've ever visited with many intelligent people, interesting topics, and tidy posts. I come here because one can have an in-depth and intelligent conversation or topic. On the other hand, I prefer small, unrestricted forums because you can really make friends and get to know somebody how they really are. People don't usually talk in paragraghs or always about topics. Smaller forums are cool just for hangin out.

Not really my style at all, but I love the song lightning crashes, assuming I'm thinking of the correct song by that title. About the birth of a child, right?
-
What songs are there that seem to describe your life right now? I know I've got one which perfectly reflects my voice toward the ones I care for. Jambi - Tool Here from the king's mountain view Here from the wild dream come true Feast like a sultan I do On treasures and flesh, never few. But I, I would wish it all away. If I thought I'd Lose you just one day. The devil and his had me down, in love with the dark side I'd found. Dabble in all the way down up to my neck soon to drown. But you changed that all for me. Lifted me up, turned me round. So I... I... I... I... I would I would I would Wish this all away Prayed like a father dusk to dawn. Beg like a hooker all night long. Tempted the devil with my song. And got what I wanted all along. But I, And I would, If I could, And I would, Wish it away, Wish it away, Wish it all away, Wanna wish it all away, No prize that could hold sway, Or justify my giving away, my center. So if I could I'd wish it all away. If I thought tomorrow would take you away. You're my peace of mind, my home, my center. I'm just trying to hold on, One more day. Dim my eyes... Dim my eyes... Dim my eyes if they should compromise our fulcrum what you need divides me then I might as well be gone. Shine on forever. Shine on benevolent son. Shine down upon the broken. Shine until the two become one. Shine on forever. Shine on benevolent son. Shine on upon the severed. Shine until the two become one. Divided I'm withering away. Divide and I'm withering away. Shine on upon the many, light our way Benevolent son. Breathe in union. Breathe in union. Breathe in union. Breathe in union. Breathe in union. So as one survive. Another day and season.

Well, I've loved all their popular songs, so I convinced my mom to buy it on 666. Prelude - actually probably my favorite song on there. I just plain love it and it's always stuck in my head Kill Caustic - Hatred. When I heard this song my first though was 'oh my god what have I done? I've done bought an emo CD!!!" the guitars are kinda cool in the chorus though. Miss Murder - I like it, it's catchy and fun and the reason I picked up the disk. Summer Shudder - That one's pretty good, not really my style, but it's okay. The Interview - Meh. Love Like Winter - Once again, not really my style, but I thought it was alright. Affliction - I really liked this song for the lyrics simply because I could reflect on them. I like all the songs' lyrics but this one in particular. The Missing Frame - I don't remember it >_< Kiss And Control - I love this song for it's eightees-pop vibe. Assuming this is the song I think it is >_< The other 3 I hardly even remember.
