1. All anime insoires me. Great ones inspire me to be like them. Bad ones inspire me to make sure I don't suck that bad.
2. I aspire to be a writer of some sort. While most writers are poor, some are rich, and it's worth a try. Otherwise I want to sing in a band. Possibly also play guitar.
3.
Frankly, I have enough trouble getting regular events and other things organized, without another one being added to the list. lol If we have time to do something like this, we should presumably have time to tackle other, more significant issues that will improve the site. I do like the idea, I just feel that it's not something we can really devote our time to at this stage. I'm more interested in repairing some of the fundamentals of the site to make it easier and more enjoyable, before we start going after other things.
In that case, why not pick someone to be in control of the event? Then the mods could go on with their important business, and let that guy handle it.
4. Zombie: Wait! Lets try to talk and work this out peacefully! Guy with torch: ZOMBIE!!! MUST KILL!!!
5. Silent Alarm Remixed I've never heard of BP, but I am damn good at annograms! oicluda "keifrin" chsanez Hint: Guitarist for CoCa
6. Animal Crossing Wild World ni pekengi rectses fo litens reath: 3 Hint: CO & CA
7. Gar. I'd like to say I hate this band with a passion. Gerard bugs me in the videos and emminates of jack-***. Their lyrics are bad and annoying to hear. Their music is simply average. They are just like every other emo-rock band out there right now. But as much as I loathe them deeply, all three of their singles sort of appeal to me. Okay, I'm Not Okay I Promise is really annoying, but it gre on me after hearing it 1000000 times, as all music does. Helena is just so... catchy. It's like their music is bad, but it's perfectly bad. Like they're the best of the worst. Also, The Ghost Of You I like just because he sings it so... heavily.
8. Gotta love anime music. Firstly, anything by The Pillows is super nifty. They do the FLCL music, which is all beautifully crafted punk-rock music. The Seatbelts (Yoko Kanno) are pretty cool... I like some, hate some, mostly though I simply adore the Real Folk Blues and Rain from the Cowboy Bebop soundtracks. Also, there is some great Rurouni Kenshin songs, the number one of them all being Shukuteki Kenzan! and 8:30 minute metal song. The Boogiepop Phantom CD is a techno masterpiece.
9. 7. Get The Hell Out of High School - What can I say, I can't friggin take this place. After all, I know I am going to be a writer or musician, because that is all I am willing to do. I don't care how, but I need to escape. 8. Get the Gril I Love To Fall In Love With Me - Assuming she isn't already
10. There are a lot of great anime out there, but when they're costing 20 bucks and only having 3 episodes with no extras, it really isn't worth it. So I came to ask, what animes have worthwhile DVDs? Could be movies or series, long as it's really worth the money. I think a lot of the Complete Collection bow-sets are really good because they give you the whole series for cheap if you're not looking for fancy DVD cases. That way if there's a series you aren't sure about, you could just buy the whole thing cheap, and if it sucks, oh well. Personally, one of the reasons I stopped buying anime DVDs is because so many lack in extras, but some (Like the Animatrix for example) are worth it.
11. What was the most recent CD you bought and how do you feel about it? I got two yesterday so... Rush - Hemispheres - I haven't gotten the chance to fully listen to this because I'm always doing something while it's playing. What I have caught from it was pretty cool, though. I am only annoyed that it sounds so much like 2112. Avenged Sevenfold - City Of Evil - Well, technically my dad bought it. This CD was a pleasent surprise, the music is simply awesome. My only problem is that the lead singer's voice is so damn annoying. But aside from that, it is a wonderful CD.
12. Keith - Bad Acid Trip - Bad Acid Trip can only be described as energetic bursts of psychopathic fury. And that's exactly what Keith's guitar is. He plays extremely well and makes some insanely trippy noises. While there are no real solos in any of their songs, since all of them are usually around 1-2 minutes long, he still magaes to get some adrenaline-pumping, zany guitar work fitted in. The song Zombie Nation is probably his best work.
13.
I was actually just trying to think of ways to create a special title system aside from the current Custom Title that people would find acceptable and fair. While your active days system sounds a very valid way to do this Tical I reckon creating the code to do so would be nightmarish as an undertaking. Instead how about a system where once every month, or any set period, the Staff come together and pick out one nominee from their respective forum/s to be given a new title to reflect their standing in said forum. For instance the Arena title could be Adventurer of the Month - May 2006, I think people would be happy as it's a title of some standing and can't be spammed to achieve. Anyone's thoughts ? Having had some experience creating Special User titles, I know it wouldn't be difficult, although the strife among Staff in deciding a single winner for each forum might.
That... would be so bad-***! *can see self being titled Master Musician or something* it's so perfect! One thing though... if someone gains that title, it would also mean they wouldn't have any other title, right? And then there'd be someone else getting their same title every month. SOOOO.... I suggest you make it so you only pick one candidate from select forums, as certain forums get no play whatsoever, while others are kept alive on standard. You should only hand out title if there is a particular someone who is keeping that forum alive. For example, if someone creates a bunch of popular threads in the Lounge, they get a title, and if someone makes a lot of threads in MMaT, they get a title, but if everywhere else is downright dead then there should be no title. As for Arena, ic could go to whoever has the biggest running RPG. I'll take my Nobel Prize now, thank you :animesmil
14.
Dido.
It's 'ditto'. This is Otakuboards, not AIM. XD I don't think the post quality is all that bad. Is it really any trouble to have one or two game threads as long as everything else runs smoothly? It lightens things up, and it's fun, and harmless. Short replies aren't so bad as long as they aren't AIM talk or n00b talk.
15. Don't know if it's been done before but... What are your goals in life? Personally I have a really long list of life goals, but there are a few which have reighned prominent over the years. 1. To publicize my own novel - I'd really like to be a novelist and I'm working on getting this accomplished already. 2. To write my own video game magazine - When I was 10-turning-11 back in '02 I spent my entire summer handwriting, on lined paper, my own Nintendo magazine. All pictures were traced from Nintendo Power using a light board. The cover had Bomberman on it. In the end, it measured out to 95 pages with 4 ads >_> One day I'd like to make a real Game Magazine... a specialty issue. 3. To sue someone - Not even I can explain my infactuation with sueing someone, but as long as I can remember it's been a dream of mine. 4. To try every bread in the world - From wheat to rye to the flesh of Jesus. I wanna try it all. I love me some bread. 5. To start my own band - Been a dream of mine since I began writing songs. My band will be called Moon Tan. I have a guitar (can't really play it) and my bros got a drumset and a bass, but I doubt they really care about it. I may just learn to play everything myself and be like Trent Reznor. 6. Publicise a poetry book - I don't even care if it sells well, I gotta do it at least once. I can go on...
16.
The Top 25 ? Whew, I've been round just over four and a half years and I'm still only ranked 32nd, still it's really only been in the last two years or so I've had the chance to post on a far more regular basis. Still with the Number 1 spot held by a man who can quite easily delete the posts of those who might contend with his position, I'm quite happy with where I am for the moment.
Yep. Lets see... the origional Tical account had I think 485 or something like that, Kyo no ryu had somewhere around 1300 and my other, smaller accounts put together add up to somewhere between 500 and 700. And right now I think I have around 1200. That adds up to around... 3,500 posts. Yep. Anyway, to elabprate on my idea of having your rank determined by how long you've been here, it would have to be in days you've actually been active. I realize, though, that this system is probably rediculously hard to crate.
17. Wow, that looks really cool! I especially like the Link/fierce deity Link color effect. Malon looks super-cute. OMFG Dark Link is dressed like a normal person! I'd like to read your fanfiction some time, especially if you write as well as you draw ;)
18. Y'know, I feel like beating an entirely different drum this time (perhaps a bongo) and instead of saying some epic song, I'm gunna strait up say my all-time favorite song, because it deserves recognition! Basket Case - Green Day This song doesn't offer any epic, grandoise musical injiniuses or anything, just some simple chords that anyone could learn to play. But what it does have is great, cathcy lyrics which my dad an I agreed were 'a perfect example as life as a teenager.' It's just a fun song to listen to, and my favorite song ever.
19.
I listen to a lot of punk, so by default heaps of my CDs don't break 40 minutes. I don't mind the length much, though, because if it's 35 minutes of just good music, who cares? Compare to 70 minutes of rubbish and I know which I prefer. Length does not equate to quality.[/size']
I do agree in some cases. I have some CDs that are only 30 to 40 minutes long (Franz Ferdinand - ST, Green Day - Dookie) but are still some of my favorite CDs. I just kind of feel like I'm wasting 15 bucks by only buying 30 minutes of music, unless it's REALLY good music (Rush CDs are only like 35 minutes, but it's worth it)
20. And now, without further adieu, the greatest artistic masterpiece to ever caress my ears. Frances The Mute - The Mars Volta Now, while it's broken up into twelve tracks, this album is technically 5 songs. 6 if you include the title track Frances The Mute which is only found on the single release of The Widow. Each song on this CD is so miraculous, I must speak of them individually. Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus - This is the first song which introduces the plot of the CD which is so shrouded in veils that for well over a year people have debated it's meaning and we still haven't found a stable answer. It's no doubt that the man who wrote the lyrics, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, was a man of genius. This song runs about 13 minutes long and features all sorts of harmonic melodies, rippin guitars, and crazy sounds that will blow you away. The song climaxes in a huge instrumental explosion, and cools down, taking a few minutes to lead into the next song... The Widow - This song is damn creepy. The music sort of slowly drags itse;f out and sounds downright eerie as Cedric sings in a bone-chilling voice. The guitar solo is badass and when the lyrics end, (this is where the radio version stops) it goes into a 2 and a half minute organ solo, which can only be described as 'strange' finally, it leads into the bad-*** drumming of... L'via L'viaquez - This song is fast, furious, and freakish, sporting some of the wildest guitar work I have ever heard, and mixes Spanish and English lyrics. The first 5 minutes can also be heard on the radio sometimes. Throughout it's thirteen minute length it goes into these trippy, sexy (yes, I said sexy) slow parts. At the end there is a part where Cedric is singing the chorus but it gets all quiet and he's singing in a dark, almost demonic voice which sounds like it's underwater and is super-cool then goes into... Miranda, This Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore - The first four minutes of this song is strange noises and wind sounds. Then it goes into a movie-like trumpet (I think) part and begins the strange, creepy lyrics which go through about 4 minutes, then the last 5 minutes are a long, unique instrumental. Finally, there is the climax. Cassandra Geminni - This 32-minute epic takes you on a music journey through... just about everywhere. I'd say more but... you you really gotta hear it to believe it. Also, aparently a remix of this album is in the works.
21. Well, my banner (which I want to change, but it's received such great reviews I can't get rid of it) is meant to say that I strike quick and withouth restraint, I cut deep, and tell it like it is. I always have some sort of one-liner underneath like "Apathy: It's what you do!" Right now (because it will probably be differnt tommorrow) it says "Pray for us all". I put it there because in the Coheed and Cambria song The Light And The Glass, there is a part where it is sung by a choir and sounds really cool. It is also meant to express that I think we're all doomed. Thank you for your time.
22. On a CD, the tracks are organized differently all the time. Sometimes there will be a lot of short tracks, sometimes a few long taracks. Often times they'll mix it up a bit. Maybey there are a lot of big songs with little intermissions in between them (EX: Tool) or maybe they'll just have about twelve moderate-length, catchy songs (EX: Green Day, Linkin Park etc.). What do you like your CDs format to be? Personally, I can't stand buying CDs that are under 50 minutes long unless they are seriously worth every second. For me, a CD isn't just something you listen to, it's something you experience. I usually like it when there are about 11 or so songs that are about 5-7 minutes long (EX: Coheed And Cambria, Avenged Sevenfold) or when there are like a few extremely long songs (EX: The Mars Volta).
23. Damn... and to think I passed it up because it was 20 bucks... I should've bought it! I love Dani California, and I've read that Omar A Rodiguez-Lopez of The Mars Volta makes a guest appearance, which is bloody awesome. (apparantly the two bands are pretty tight-knit). Definitelly I will buy it, and thank you for your advice!
24. I know everyone loves to say how awesome all the eightees guitarists were, but I wanna hear about the best guitarist of our modern age. My picks: Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez - The Mars Volta - This man is a musical genius, and writess all the music for The Mars Volta, which is some of the coolest friggin junk I have ever heard. His guitar styles are unique, and he can make all kinds of crazy noises with it. Some of the shredding going on in their songs is pure insanity. Claudio 'Freaking' Sanches - Coheed And Cambria - While their music doesn't always focus on guitars, this guy sometimes comes out and pulls some crazy *** solos. He is increadibly proficient with both acoustic and electric guitars, which meld together in some of their songs. Some of the riffs (In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, Welcome Home) are just plain awesome, and he lays out some mighty, and quite lengthy solos (The Final Cut features a 3 and a halfminute solo, which I've heard is lengthened out to like 7 minutes in concert.) Daron Malakian - System of a Down - Not only does he write all the stuff for SOAD, but he can play just about any instrument. His guitaring is just bloody awesome, focusing less on solos and more on great riffs and unique sounds. The Hypnotize album is just amazing. Synyster Gates - Avenged Sevenfold - What can I say, the guy is bloody awesome! Just listen to the City of Evil CD and you'll likely agree... his guitar solos, played with the assistance of rhythm guitarist Zacky Vengeance, are all totally awesome and blow most other new bands' guitar solos out of the water. I like their style of a sort of squealing guitar. Also, he can play Spanish guitar well.
25. Okay, last time I did this it was very confusing and died quickly. This time, I just wanna hear what is your favorite CD and why is it so awesome? I have quite a few picks, but I'll start with my all-time favorite. Gorillaz - Demon Dayz The Demon Days CD is just all around amazing. It's got a very soft, somber tone to it, and some of the best instrument blending I have ever heard. There is even some genre-bending involved. There is so much going on in each song, you really have to listen to it deeply to appreciate it (I listened to it for approximately the 6oth time last night, and I noticed sounds I hadn't before.) My favorite song has to be El' Manana because it's just so sad, and has one of my favorite keyboard melodies ever.
