Hmmm... well, I like you're drawing style (next time, try using blank paper, though ^^;; it also helps to have a scanner.) If you would, could you try drawing him in different poses or different facial expressions? In order to really get the feel for a character you need to see him in different poses, and besides you'll have to practice lot's of poses to do manga work. I remember back when I tried to draw manga (mind you, I could NEVER draw T_T) and I never bothered with poses - my characters looked the same in every panel >_< Otherwise, not off to a bad start, though you may want to look into a scanner. So, being overwhelmed by the sheer number of shows I'm trying to watch, I decided to go down my 'watching' list alphabetically and just clear each show. First was ARIA. I've seen 2 eps of ARIA waaaaaay back and found it okay, but a little too boring for my taste, however since there isn't a ****ing person alive with a negative thing to say about this show I knew I'd need to get back to it, especially since I have a bit more open tastes and besides I'd been watching it with hideously low quality on a ****** streaming site. Well, I just got done with episode 3 (as a liner note the eps of this show NEVER END, if I ever wanted to make a day feel like a week I'd wach the whole thing at once) and lets just say I was completely mezmerized. I only have one word: Alice. Alice.... Alice.... Alice.... upon first sight of her face I was spellbound. When she turned down the autograph to that girl I actually felt my heart litterally wrench - like I felt the girl's pain in being turned down by this blazing goddess. Needless to say I. Want. Damn ugly woman and her non-music... ever since that one video I was never able to say 'kawaii' without feeling bad. Like, I was always thinking someone would think I got it from a Gwen Stefani video or something. Yes, I'm paranoid about things like that. However, now that I know enough japanese to be able to say 'super kawaii' without the 'super' and with any number of additional japanese expressions added onto 'kawaii' it no longer sounds like anything she says, and therefor I am cotented. You may all point the 'weeaboo' finger at me now. I'm proud of it.

god, ballsy if by ballsy you men sucking total ***. That album made me throw up in my throat. Disgusting, putrid excuse for music, and a shitstain on the underwear of the band. For all I did to stick up for City of Evil this album sure threw away what little pride I had as a fan. Utter stupid tripe - it was like non-music. I'd rather take a burning coal to the nutsack than sit through it ever again. I'd have to say that the first song was among one of the worst trashpile compilations of meaningless crap ever compacted into one period of time. If there be a time set that I'll have to listen to that again, let me die beforehand. Oh, and to stay on-topic, I'm listening to Atashi ga Alice datta koro which is a b-side on a single from the Rozen Maiden anime - a nice influx of violin, piano and acoustic guitar.
Well, you have to admit that Hiyori is kind of crazy. Whether that's normal among the doujin community is another matter. :p
Crazy awesome maybe, lol. Ah, fangirls... but the difference is instead of bl doujins she's obsessed with yuri ones! Well, I'm sure she'd do either, but still!!! That alone made her one of my favorite chara's all year. And her awesome tuck-roll to prevent falling on her drawing arm XDDDD

the thing about waiting for other groups, though, is that they might not be sufficient... I watched a bit of ep 1 done by bure, and man... they translated everything totally different, no 'pink supervisor' and even 'I am in despair!' and 'I die now' were done differently... and since even my knowledge of Japanese gives me the proper knowledge of those lines, I wasn't about to put up with it, lol. No surprise, though, with 'the most untranslatable show ever' >_> ad besides, Shinbo shows ARE notorius for lacking subs (I hear Pani Poni Dash suffered the same problem, and we both know how Hidamari Sketch turned out)
especially that psycho student who
imagines her friends in all sorts of weird situations for her drawings

May the doujin community rain hellfire on you XD

Hokay, so even though the Fall one got very few posts I'm doing a winter one! some really interesting releases this here winter, though I haven't gathered any large amount of info on anything. For links to the Japanese sites of all shows, airdates, and info on sub groups, click here. Table of Contents: S1. Stuff I'm Excited About S2. Stuff I'll try out for sure S3. Stuff I'm not touching. S1 1. GUNSLINGER GIRL SEASON 2 - So, starting with the obvious, GG season 2 is coming and I couldn't be happier. Not only my favorite manga of all time, but a very excellent anime, there's pretty much no way this can go wrong. It will cover the Pinocchio arc which contains THE two best fight scenes that exist in manga, one of which is so epic it's unbelievable. Hearsay tells me the first ep will likely be a recap, so even if you missed the first season, give this one a shot! 2. Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - the question on everyones mind - will AFK actually finish subbing the damn first season before the second starts?! In any event, every part of the concept of a second season of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is positively erotic. Even though I haven't even watched all of the episodes that have been subbed yet (despite seeing several 3 times now) SZS is definitely one of my favorite shows and one of the ones that assured my overblown love of Akiyuki Shinbo (sometime referred to as "god"). 3. Shigofumi - Zee Oh Emm Gee. So, the first time I ever looked at a piece of art for this series, from the same person who did the art for Kino no Tabi, I was instantly in love. Then I found out it was based on a light novel, which is ALWAYS a plus. Then I saw the rich, beautiful animation and the abound comparisons to Shinigami no Ballad and I was completely in love. This one will definitely be a cult favorite. 4. Ookami to Koushinryou - So, Andrew Cunningham, the guy behind translating the Kino no Tabi and Boogiepop novels (AKA best guy evar) and also one of the first to draw attention to the Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei manga in America (as 'the most untranslatable manga ever' ...go figure) did a review of the light novel this is based on. Now, I'm a huge fan of light-novel-based-anime already as it is, but that review piques my interest like no tomorrow. And the art is ****ing beautiful. 5. Hatenkou Yuugi - The shoujo show of the season, this one sounds pretty fun - it's evidently from the same magazine as Loveless and some other popular titles that I haven't seen, but I'll be glad to finally catch a shoujo series for once. The art is pretty.... The biggest reason I'll be watching is just cuz of how awesome Shugo Chara turned out to be XD S2 1. PERSONA -Trinity Soul- - Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3 might be my favorite RPG of all time, even though I've only played it for around 10 hours (I don't game >_>) so I'm excited about their being an anime, though the story is set 10 years and the future and stars 3 ungodly bishi-boys. Now, I'm none to keen on game-based-anime (especially if they start going on about 'that thing that happened 10 years ago' or something) but the plot is intriguing and, I mean, it IS Shin Megami Tensei. I won't get my hopes up, but there's a chance this could kick major ***. 2. Minami-ke - I still need to catch up on the current season of Minami-ke (as well as, you know, everything from the fall season ^^;;) however once I do, I'm sure the second one will be inviting. The odd parts are how they decided to use a second studio for the new season, but it could be that they just wanted to keep it fresh? Who knows, but it'll be interesting for a show like this to continue onto a whole new season. 3. ARIA the ORIGINATION - So, I STILL haven't watched the first two seasons of ARIA even though everyone and their ****ing grandma hails it as a masterpiece. I should probably get it done quickly so that I can watch the 3rd season along with all the cool kids. 4. Mnemosyne - There was a 3-minute preview of this which looked potentially awesome. Some great-looking action scenes abound and tons of yuri hints. It's very likely to contain a lot of nudity and blood, which is the only thing that kind of turns me off of it, but there's the chance we're headed for a badass action series (something the Fall season lacked). 5. true tears - Based on a bishoujo game, which is a shtick I'm tired of, however the character designs are so awesome that I have to watch. 6. H2O - I would have backlogged this as another bishoujo game adaption that I wasn't going to give a chance, but then I found out the main character is blind. Interesting, to say the least. S3 1. Rosario to Vampire - mindless fanservice 2. Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de (They are my noble masters) - mindless-er fanservice 3. Sisters of Wellber 2 - Even though I was one of the like, 6 people to watch any of it and I only saw 6 eps since it was never finished getting subbed. and I doubt season 2 will be either. I love how everyone's reaction to this is 'people watched season 1?! who?!'
I haven't finished it yet but I love it! I am planning on getting Lot's of Haruhi swag soon!
Well, unless you're buying the special edition DVDs I don't now what you're gunna be able to get without importing. In any event get ready to brutally slaughter your wallet, HAHAHA! Haruhi **** is expensive as hell. My best friend had all 3 girls dakimakura (yes, the things that cost 80-90 bucks before shipping/handling). He never opened them, kept them in a box in his closet. A few weeks ago, his dad was cleaning the closet and threw the box away !!! Rich bastard wasn't upset about it enough though ^^;;

Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?

Ah, see, mind you I watched Uta Kata all at once after getting my hopes up by reading a bunch of reviews that said how dark it was, and I was all hyped for it from all that. So maybe the fact that it was disappointing for me had an even greater negative impact. I still need to hurry and finish that review... -
All right I did go out of line but I don't like people who curse on a simple post. Their is no need for your mama stuff either. Ok now thats out of the way, lets talk about something else. Ok her it goes. All right, since this site exist for anime, manga, and more. Why are their soo few members? If you check the Members List, theirs only 2,800 or so members. Most of them are not active. Maybe even a few years old. But They do post time to time. Ok, Moderators have been a pain in my back for a while. They closed one of the Threads that I was really getting interesed in. Now I am having a hard time finding a new RPS to get into. Every time a Naruto tread pops up. It gets shut down. They say we post to little or not enough info. People are not machines and some of us can't type a full 3-4 paragraph post. I say if you give a reason why your post was short or don't put info that is needed, that should surfice for that one post but you can't do it with every post. Maybe a few per week or something like that. This one Moderator kind of creeps me out. Im not releasing the name of the Moderator for personal reasons but I think he/she hates me.
lol, sorry for swearing at you, didn't know better. You should probably put a notice or something on you posts like 'don't swear in your replies, please.' In any event, you're cool with me bro, this thread gave me a good laugh so you get points for that. As fo actually aswering your question about the tiny memberbase, it is mainly due to the fact that the actual parts of the site that deal with anime and manga aren't very highly active, and those of us who post the most in those sections aren't usually discussing mainstream anime (very frequent use of the word 'Narutard' on my part, especially). Believe me, there has never been a moderator of the RPG section who wasn't a bloodthirsty hellhound deadset on bannination o_o I've been down that road, my friend, as well.

Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?

So. What would happen if you took the artistic beauty of, say, Mushishi or Kino's Journey, mixed it with the offbeat fun of Revolutionary Girl Utena, gave it the most nonsensical, WTF plot of all time and aired it backwards? You'd get Touka gettan, the simultaneously best and worst show that ever existed. Gotta say, I've never had mixed feelings toward something like I do to this. I'll say now, the director, Yuji Yamaguchi, might be my least favorite person in existence and the subject of many recent angry rants on my blog. However, it wouldn't be far off to say that while not a single ounce of it ought to be considered redeemable, Touka Gettan is amazing. Watching it is like taking your own mind and crumpling it into a ball, eating it, and finding it the best thing you've ever tasted. I'm 10 episodes in and still wondering if my review will be giving it a '4' or a '9'. If you can make it past the last few episodes (and by that, I do mean the first few episodes) it's probably worth checking out. You know, if you want something to twist your min in more knots than Lain, Eva, and Perfect Blue combined. -
That's part of the fun of getting deeper into a hobby... seeing how your tastes shift. :catgirl: Every time I think my favorites have stabilized, some new (or old) show jumps onto the list. (ef and Mononoke are the latest intruders, I think). I especially like keeping track of this kind of thing for video games & manga and such, since I've spent less time with them than I have with anime, and it leaves me more prone to getting swept off my feet. ~Dagger~
There's a part of me that finds it exciting and great, but an equally large part that makes me feel like I definitely haven't seen enough for my opinion to sway so easily. Adding to this is how shows like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Haruhi which were my two alltime favorites until about 4 months ago are barely clinging to my top 5 lol.
-
At this point, I'm considering all favorites lists of mine null and void -_- over the past month my top 5 has changed to include Baccano! and Eureka Seven and I've seen so much great stuff.... maybe a year or so from now when I've seen a lot more I can give a safer judgement.
-
Reminds me of when I went to me mom's Roller Derby bout that was Star Wars themed and a whole ton of 501 dudes were there. Anyway, while it's mostly a Japanese culture and anime blog, you should check out dannychoo.com for Danny's stormtrooper-in-Tokyo antics.
SOL?
Standards of Learning. In Virginia Beach, it's our big end of the year test.
Just started Sekien no Inganock by Liarsoft. It's the first eroge I've played that's in third person instead of first person, which is pretty neat. The decision system (what I've seen of it so far, anyway) is also innovative... instead of having you decide the character's actions in real time, the game switches to a different screen during certain scenes, where you can choose between hearing various characters' internal thoughts and learning more about the city they live in. Depending on which characters you choose and in what order, you start leaning more toward one route or another. ~Dagger~
Dagger~ has this game been translated? Actually, I'd be glad if you made a note of any games you post as translated or not XD. Not that it matters until I get off this god-forsaken mac...

Mm, most of those names I happen to recognize because my mom had all of the albums of all of those artists burned to 4 DVDs that ate my old computer alive XD But at least it looks like my mom listens to all of the right black metal bands, and she had a lot more, too. I hated all of them. I tried several songs by any and hated every ****ing one. -
The past 2 weeks saw a dramatic change in my school life. Until then, I had this AP English class that I was angsting over, and I was failing... basically, everything. However, 2 weeks ago there was an incident where I nearly got expelled and I ended up dropping the AP class to go down to core. Since then my life has been beautiful and I only think about school when I'm there, usually not paying attention but my grades have magically started climbing, lol.

Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?

Comedy - 10 of the best minutes of anime I have ever seen in my life. Irish folktales for the ****ing win. God I love gothic style. Edit: Watched Hituji no Uta which was pretty cool, nice dark, brooding atmosphere till the end, and an ending that leaves you wondering. Good ol tradgedy. Continuing my marathon of gothic themes, I'm hoping to find something with oldschool goth style. With castles and ****. I guess I still haven't seen the first Vampie Hunter D movie though I heard it's not very good (and I've read the book anyway). -
Yea I noticed that too. *crosses fingers for chobits*
Fuse is on cable, man. They can't get away with too much... though i was kind of impressed by all the blood in some shows they have, but nudity? That's a whole other playing field.
-
Waht's hilarious is that, um, the show they've been putting on are Geneon shows, and in the credits they put commercials for other Geneon shows. Could it be that Fuse is putting on lots of Geneon shows because they are now cheap as hell for television or something?! either way if they put Gankutsuou on TV I'm laying ****ing eggs.
-
Immortal, they've been airing Ergo Proxy for months... Anyway, i watched Le Portrait de Petite Cosette and aside from the less-than-good dub, it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I knew I could expect as much from Shinbo, but man, that was ****ing incredible. Like nothing else out there, also, there needs to be an AMV of this show with the song Tahnatos from Eva like now lol. It's interesting how this show bears a LOT of similarities to The Soultaker, but with enhanced goth style and animation - all around it was just a downright sick experience. Definitely a WIN.

Galneryus - ****ing awesome Japanese power metal band. They've got a couple of vids on youtube - Silent Revelation is awesome and Struggle for the Freedom Flag has some sick parts. Vocals are hilarious English in some songs, hilarious japanese in others.
