I helped my dad spend a candle lit dinner with my mum. He proposed to her again, so cute. They are to renew their vows on one of their anniversaries I think or someday near one of their anniversaries. I had to play the guitar I borrowed from my cousin and help my dad serenate my mum. They love each other so much. :catgirl:
That sounds like something my dad would do. He always goes to the extreme and my mom's like anti-romantic. This year, he went to her work (she's the manager at Spencers in the local mall) and was supposed to be loading up boxes into the back of her car. It took him a while, but he managed to nab her car keys out of her purse whe she wasn't looking. Claiming to be headed to go do something (I can't remember) he took it to a place where you could wash your car. He spent 2 hours acuming and cleaning out the inside of the car. He then returned to the mall and got her some flowers and slipped the keys back into the purse. As for my V-day experience, I got nothing. I'm not bitter, though.

Perceptions of Self vs Social Perception
2010DigitalBoy replied to elfpirate's topic in General Discussion
The ocean floor is hidden from your viewing lens A depth perception languished in the night All of my life I've been sewing these wounds But the seems sprout a lachrymal cloud - Sarcofagi - The Mars Volta I am constantly wondering what others must think of me when they see me. Medium height, long hair, kinda pimply, always wears sweatpants, same jacket every day. I wonder if I just come off as unkempt or uncaring about my looks. But then again no matter how much I torture myself to find the answers, generally I think people just don't notice. The only thing I hate more is what I think my friends think of me. Every house I live in comes with a different group of friends and I get to know them all in different ways. A little under 2 years ago, I had lived in a house for about 2 years and the closer friends I had knew me really well, and I'd say they had the same perception of me as I did of myself. One could say I was what they made me. Then, before this past September I had lived in a house for a year. I only had 2 friends who knew me well, and the others just saw a sort of show I put on. See, at home, I was a smart guy who wrote stories and thought deeply, but at school, I was a crazy ball of slipstick insanity that no one could take seriously, which ended up sucking. When I moved here, there was a change. (I could get into it, but it's a loooooong story) and I decided to try and let friends know who I really was. But for some reason, whenever I get around other people I can't talk to them until I get to know them a little, then I can't help myself but make myself into a slapstick maniac. After a while, I tryed to sort of convince my friends (who I only talke to in the limited spare time in school) that I was intelligent, but no matter what I said, it came across as a joke, just like before. I'm moving in a week, and hopefully I can try and make new friends that see myself through my perception... Except not even I have a clear view of who I really am. I usually have a different attitude about myself every few days and it changes my entire outlook and mood. At that rate, I could be like a different person in days. It seems like the only personality that keeps constant is the stupid funny guy. I HATE the stupid funny guy. -
I am extremely diappointed. I have been hearing countless remarks that 'I Am' from Shadow the Hedgehog was supposedly totally awesome and better than Live and Learn, but Live and Learn blows it sky high. Also, Otherworld from FFX and the song from the make out scene were great.

Usually I just give a piece of candy to each of my friends. This year (Note that just about every year I live in a different house) I decided to make each of my friends a personalized card. It's half a valentines card, and half a goodbye card since I'm moving this week.
The problem with the book is that people are taking it for truth when it is a work of fiction. Believe me you?re not the first person I?ve run into who thought that on some level it was real and what makes it worse is all the publicity has the author himself believing in the fiction that he wrote, I mean this guy actually wants to, and I quote, ?actively build a kind of community ? an association, if you will, of those who see the vision. If you find yourself reading this, and you feel the same way, email us, and we will tell you what we have in mind.? Quite frankly that?s a bit ridiculous when you consider it?s not the truth. There?s a word for such things? Cult. I wouldn?t let it scare you away though, from a psychological point of view it is interesting to read, so long as you keep in mind that it?s just a work of fiction.
Well, you see, the 3rd book he wrote says all the same stuff as the first 2, but it isn't fiction. He says that it is real. Which is why I kinda thought it was. Though personally, after reading the second book, I don't like the theory anymore.
I too am fed up with this whole 'free speech' whathaveyou. But, I propose we go one step further than 'limited speech'. No matter what you say somone will be offended by it somewhere, and eventually everyone would become broke. I prepose a complete and utter elemination of communication. Logically, it's the only solution; surgically remove the vocal cords of everyone on earth, aswell as lobotomizing everyone. This way we'd have a population of grey, emotionless, uncreative, unofensive people, all living in harmony! Hurray!
*magines large group of zombies standing still in a field of flowers* *'so happy together' starts playing and they all slowly begin moving side to side* Oh, right, uh... limited speech sucks ***! No ******* government bastard is going to close my dirty mouth! Let the offensive sons of *****es run free! Oh, wait, we don't even have free speech ON THIS SITE because of what? Being afraid we'll offend people??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Point proven!

O_o I think you guys may have misconstreud a few of those lines. When it said 'sexually possessing' the father, it didn't mean that way, ew! And by little girl it meant, like 5 year olds, as one of the charachters was a little girl. T_T You guys made this book sound evil, now I'm scared of it, and it seemed so innocent too... screw it, I'm not meddling with psychological crap anymore.

Anime What's Your Fave Samurai Champloo Character?
2010DigitalBoy replied to a topic in Otaku Central
I mostly just came to make fun of you for saying 'what's your favorite Samurai Champloo character' which makes no sense whatsoever. As for answering the question, so as to stay on topic, I'd have to say Jin. I like how he's calm and cool and a total badass. Mugen's cool, but I've always liked the quiet ones... -
I'd definetally pick Ranma. Why do all the good curses go to people who don't want them??? I'd kill to be able to turn from boy to girl or vice-versa. I'd probably spend most time in the girl form, then transform back inot the boy form sometimes for whatever reason I may have. It'd be like a dream come true.....

Best theme song? Live And Learn - Sonic Adventure 2 - Why? Because this is, quite possibly, my favorite song ever, which is saying something considering how much music I listen to. First, there's the slammin guitar, complete with amazing solo. I believe it goes something like this! bweeeeeoooooew! bwooww bwooww Bwuoww bwuoww buuowww buubuubuu buebuebue bububu bebebe bleow beedo bee bu ba bee doo doo dee bludalubludalebludelebleedlee bwow! Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah! blew-do deow-do bleow-do deew-do dueew! dudluoo! dudluoododloododlododloodoodeuw! blewdleoodoo blewdoo blewdloodoo blewdoo blewdoo dedoo! Then, there's the totally rockin' eighties style vocals. And, finally, the great lyrics... Can you feel life movin' through your mind, Ooh, looks like it came back for more! Yeah yeah yeah! Can you feel time slippin' down your spine, Ooooooh, You try and try to ignore! Yeah! But you can hardly swallow, Your fears and pain. When you can't help but follow, It puts you right back where you came. Live and learn! Hanging on the edge of tomorrow, Live and learn! From the works of yesterday. Live and learn! If you beg or if you borrow, Live and learn! You may never find your way. Whooooa, yeah! Can you feel life tangle you up inside? Yeah, now you're face down on the floor! Oh! But you can't save your sorrow, You've paid in trade! When you can't help but follow, It puts you right back where you came. Live and learn! Hanging on the edge of tomorrow, Live and learn! From the works of yesterday. Live and learn! If you beg or if you borrow, Live and learn! You may never find your way. Hey, whoa, whoa, Oh yeeeeeeeeeeeah! -INSTRUMENTAL- Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah! -INSTRUMENTAL- There's a face searching far, so far and wide. There's a place where you dream you'd never find. Hold on to what if? Hold on to what if? Live and learn! Hanging on the edge of tomorrow, Live and learn! From the works of yesterday. Live and learn! If you beg or if you borrow, Live and learn! You may never find your way. Live and learn! Hanging on the edge of tomorrow, Live and learn! From the works of yesterday. Live and learn! If you beg or if you borrow, Live and learn! You may never find your way.

Quick question... WHY? Why do you think anyone needs ANOTHER ninja manga? ANOTHER manga where the main character is brave and strong and carries a big sword? ANOTHER manga where the characters use fire, water, earth, light, and dark? A manga isn't good just because the drawing is good! You gotta have ORIGIONALITY, you gotta have INNOVATION! Otherwise, all your making is more of the same, and we don't need more of the same, we have ENOUGH of THE SAME!!!

I always keep a card up my sleeve, just for this reason. Part C: Hormones Of course, everyone needs to have a certain balance of hormones to keep their energy intact. This is why we comonly seek people of the opposite genders to make us happy, as their hormones balance out our own. Here, let me give a direct quote from the book itself... (note that 'The Manuscript' is a fictional document from which the characters learn the insights) ALSO: read the whole thing before making opinions ___________________________________________________________________ "In any family, a child must recieve energy from adults in his life. Usually, identifying with and integrating the energy of a same-sexed parent is accomplished easily, but receiving energy from the other parent can be difficult because of the difference in the sexes. "Let's use a female child as an example. All the little girl knows as she first attempts to integrate her male side is that she is extremely attracted to her father. She wants him around and close to her all the time. The manuscript explains that what she really wants is male energy---because this male energy completes her female side. From this male energy she recieves a sense of completion and euphoria. But she mistakenly thinks that the only way to have this energy is by sexually possesing her father and keeping him close physically. "Interestingly, because she intuits this energy as her own and thinks she should be able to command this energy at will, she wants to direct the father as if she were part of herself. She thinks that he is magical and perfect and able to supply her every whim. In a less than ideal family, this sets up a power conflict between the little girl and her dad. Dramas are formed as she learns to posture herself in order to manipulate him into giving her the energy she desires. "But in an ideal family, the family would remain uncompetitive. He would continue to relate honestly and have enough energy as to supply her unconditionally even though he can't do everything she asks. The important thing to know here, in our ideal example, is that the father would remain open and communicative. She thinks he is ideal and magical but if he honestly explains who he is and what he's doing and why, then the little girl can integrate his particular style and abilities, and proceed past the unrealistic view of her father. In the end she will see him as just a particular human being, with his own talents and faults. Once this true emulation takes place, the child makes an easy transition from receiving opposite-sex energy from her father to receiving all energy from the universe at large. "The problem," she went on, "is that most parents, up tto now, have been competing with their own children for energy, and that has effected all of us. Because this competition was taking place, none of us have quite resolved the opposite-sex issue. We're all stuck at the stage where wer are still looking for our opposite-sex energy outside ourselves, in the person pf a male or female we think of as ideal and magical ans can posess sexually. See the problem?" ___________________________________________________________________ If anyone would like to now about the parents competing for energy, I can give you that insight too. (this one is part of the Eighth Insight)

Part A: Energy Crisis A hell of a lot of people have a hard time with love. Well, I was reading a book recently (The Celestine Prophesy) which made some good points. I'd like to get into the deeper points made in this book, but that's for a different thread (which I plan on starting once I finish the other books in the series) You see, according to this book (and this is highly considered to be truth, personally, I believe it) all things in this world have energy. It's not easy, but it is possible to see this energy (tested and proven). Everyone has energy levels, and you feel better when you have lots of energy. One way of taking energy is from your environment, the earth, the planet, the galaxy. This is how, according to the book, we are meant to obtain happiness. But, we mostly take our energy from other humans. For instance, lets say two people are in an arguement. The one who is making a point tries to steal energy from his opponent. The opponent, by looosing his energy, feels the need to get it back by way of making his own point. Hence, an arguement sparks up, fueled by both people trying to get energy from each other. Whenever someone feels down or irritable, (I.E. Low on energy) they want some way to get energy. They may be mad, or they may seek the comfort of a loved one... Part B: Getting Addicted to people Often, two people find themselves to have things in common or an attraction to each other. They feel good when around each other. This is because that person fills them with energy. When two people both share energy, they feel worderful, or as some of us like to say, "love". Thing is, when two people begin to fall in love, they crave it, they become addicted to the energy they get from that person. But it almost never works out. The thing is, both of them can't give the amount of energy the other craves without making sacrifices. BIG sacrifices usually. And while it turns out good for some, and yeah, most will stay together anyway, it never is quite the same as it first was. It is possible for people to have a lasting, working relationship, but the key is to be balanced between taking energy from that person and taking it from the cosmos, and being able to make sacrifices. RELATIONSHIPS AREN'T EASY but they CAN work. I hope this all makes sense. So, thoughts? Opinions?

Writing A Battered Green Notebook [G]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Ailes de Velour's topic in Creative Works
I take it this one is a song, right? About how no one is afraid of such things as 'The Boogeyman' anymore? I like it, as I do all your poetry. -
You will never cease to amaze me, will you? Needless to say (because we are talking about you) it was simply amazing. Hilarious, even. The lines about the sandwhich had me reeling with laughter. Also, the lines I get lost in your eyes Not to say they're freekishly large and hard to find your way through Were perfect. If I were ever writing a love poem, I'd make it like this.

I was always repulsed by that foot shot. Her feet are like.... ugly and freaky looking! Also, Tyra Banks always has cool people on there. She even had GWAR once!

Gaming Where has the Innovation dissapeared to?
2010DigitalBoy replied to PWNED's topic in Noosphere
Well, well, well, never seen this before... Anyway, yes it's true that a lot of games lack innovation. Halo 2, GTA and Madden are good examples. BUT, there are just as many innovative games out there which just catch less attention. This is less the company's fault than the people who buy the games who aren't giving the innovative games a chance. The complaint should not be with the company, but with the braindead populace of gamers. If you want innovative games, stop complaining and buy or make them. Complianing gets you nowhere. .......................... Examples of innovative games: Katamari Damaci Viewtiful Joe Guitar Hero Makai Kingdom Lost In Blue Under The Knife Pheonix Right: Ace Attourney Mario Baseball And many more... -
Well, Tical, I have to hand it to your avatar. The monochrome really works out well. I think my only problem with it would be the quality, but it's not too noticable. Your banner, on the other hand, is very grainy and poor in quality .While the cropping is done well enough, it's not enough to make up for the low picture quality. I'd recommend finding another version of that image, as well as making your avatar and banner match in color. You get a 6.5/10 -- sorry if it sounds harsh.
...cropping? All I did was take the picture and put a border around it. That's how the origional pic looks. It's a Green Day CD cover. As for kitsune hime, great avatar and banner set. I love the picture, and the girl is really cute. The banner doesn't have a border, which isn't so bad, just slightly irritating. Also, the text isn't all that noticable. 7/10

Likewise, Keyblade, your stuff is totally awesome. Itachi and Sasuke kick ***, and I love the colors. The lines in your sig are cool too and totally fit the pictures. You get an 11/10. I think I've finally found my best avi/sig combo. Green Day.
