Movie Soundtracks - Kill Bill, Undeniably, in my opinion, the best ever. From the cheesy Kung-Fu junk to the epic chimes to the haunting whistle of Ellie Driver, this album kicks ***. Godzilla, because as a kid, I loved this. Anime Soundtracks - Haven't heard many, but the Rurouni Kenshin ones are all sweet. Especially the Best Theme Collection as it comes with the two 8:30 minute Japanese metal songs. Video Game Soundtracks - While RPGs have great soundtracks, my hat is off to Sonic Adventure 2 for having an all-out awesome album. The main theme, Live and Learn, being a personal favorite song.

Music What genre of music do you listen to?
2010DigitalBoy replied to sweetpeach14's topic in Noosphere
I like things that are new, different, and intelligent, pluss it must sound good in all areas. To be more specific, I like music that is more music than lyrics, and if there are lyrics, they have to be deep. I like the stuff that goes over most people's heads and you have to actually figure out what it means. So, this mostly includes prog-rock (like The Mars Volta) techno-rock (Gorillaz) nu-metal (Linkin Park, System of a Down) and other genres.bands that are good. I feel disgusted by the classification system, though. -
Well, it all depends. If the voice is terrible I cannot listen, if the music is terrible I cannot listen, and if the lyrics are terrible I cannot listen. Other than that, I'll listen to anything. So basically, I won't listen to most rap music because of terrible lyrics, though some more clever ones, like Missy Elliot and Ludacris, I like. I won't listen to country music period for every reason. A lot of pop music falls under terrible lyrics, not usually because the lyrics are that bad, but bucause they're so reused. Most emo and really heavy/black/death metal has horrible voices. The only genre that does all three catagories good for the most park is rock and it's variations. Also, I am one who sticks to the bands I know. If it's Linkin Park, System of a Down, Gorillaz, Disturbed, The Mars Volta, Green Day, etc. I'm bound to like it.

First, there's Leave Melody Counting Fear from Serart. This song doesn't have any actual fathomable lyrics, but it's a pretty song, with great use of a Japanese style guitar. The way the two vocalists sing, and how the melody is played are all great. This is the only song that I will dance to no matter what. ... This song is, like, depressing, and yet I can't help but find it pretty. I mean, it's brilliant! It's... indescribable! El Manana by The Gorillaz Summer don't know me no more Eager man, that's all Summer don't know me He just let me love in my sea Cause I do know, Lord, from you that Just died, yeah I saw that day, Lost my mind Lord, I'll find Maybe in time You'll want to be mine Don't stop the buck when it comes It's the dawn, you'll see Money won't get there Ten years passed tonight You'll flee If you do that, I'll be some To find you I saw that day, Lost my mind Lord, I'll find Maybe in time You'll want to be mine I saw that day, Lost my mind Lord, I'll find Maybe in time You'll want to be mine Maybe in time You'll want to be mine Maybe in time You'll want to be mine

Gotta love Final Fantasy music. The songs form FFX are awesome, namely that one from the kiss scene, and also, of course, Otherworld. I mean, Otherworld is a metal song in a Final Fantasy game, how awesome is that??? The short version in the final boss fight sucks though... FFX and FFI both have amazing battle music. FUNNY STORY: At my last school (which I only attended for 2 weeks) for some reason, every morning whenever I looked at my bus' door, the FFI battle music would start playing in my head!

2010DigitalBoy replied to Shy's topic in General Discussion

Interesting, Most Interesting - Gavin I nominate that phrase because it is interesting, and for a while I used it on a different board (at 100 posts per day) and annoyed the heck outta eeryone there XD Charles' Avatar The only thing that can make me stare at a guys crotch that long. -
I've heard so many good things about I Am that I just have to hear it. As for me, I'd definetally pick Live and Learn: Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. This song, with it's 80's metal style, is simply amazing. The guitars are great, the vocals are great, and the lyrics are great. Its just... great! The lyrics have also helped me before... That's all I can think of for now, since that song blows almost everything else out of the water.

Writing Revelation [PG-V, maybe super mild language]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Claire's topic in Creative Works
Hm, you know I really liked this. It was highly descriptive, which is nice, something I have a very hard time with. The entire thing was orchestrated very well, though the only minor thing that bugged me was the gangsters saying 'What the crap' XD. Other than that, very nice. -

Another of my poems that I liked and felt like posting. Enjoy. Or hate. Whatever. Not So Spontaneous Combustion Combustion, not spontaneous Lighter to my sleeve Cloth erupting into flames Skin tinged and tickled By ascending sparks My hair now, my pants now Swinging arms wide open Ready to embrace the skies Closing my eyes Personal burning crucifixion Lips form a smile All too ready for my fate Casting aside emotion Tossing aside the past Now the pain of life can end Take me in, almighty one This life is over Now I can find happiness
And by god man, give your baby a name.
Well said.
can a number show me the root of a tree? can a number measure what it is to be free? can a number subract all the losses in my life? can it add all the beauty that's in my sight?
I like the secind, third and fourth line, though the whole 'root of a tree thing' I just plain don't get. I love how lines three and four use 'add' and 'subtract' for mathematical innuendos.
can a number show me where life's point lies? the answer's simple in the poetry of your eyes this proof isn't written since there's proof alone
This stanza didn't really catch my attention, and as great as the seond line is, it doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the poem.
if life's an equation, then where's the answer? everything's question after question - a cancer so benign but malignant if touched by the mind numbers are imaginary, but words are divine
Nice edit on the last line, though I actually kind of liked it more as 'lie'. The first two lines were good, but the third was simply magnificent. Overall, I'd say this is probably my least liked of all your poems, but it's still good.

Writing A Battered Green Notebook [G]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Ailes de Velour's topic in Creative Works
Wow, I never would have guessed that. In retrospect, it's amazing how you've taken such a simple concept and turning it into a poem in which one wouldn't be able simply to guess the meaning, that's really good (I think, I mean Im no expert). I can't wait to see your newxt masterpiece. Aso, I'd be honored if you were to take a look at my poem... -
Not much to say here, just a poem I wrote recently that I really liked and hope that someone will comment on it. Read it slowly. Mirror Juxtapose Standing to the mirror Juxtaposed to shadow world Mental eclipse Reflected self Refracted colors Judgmental looks passed Dried eyes glare at themselves Seeing it sees you Left shadow?s right Seems to be another Just you alone there With you But those thoughts never occur Standing to the mirror Touch your hand But they are different The mimic How well it knows you Backwards Flip your soul Now you understand Standing to the mirror Standing to yourself Juxtaposed to opposites

I have the CD Moving Pictures and it's pretty rockin. Of the seven songs I think there are 4 that I really like, particularly Tom Sawyer. How could anyone think Geddy has an annoying voice??? He's awesome! My dad tells me when he was younger this was his favorite band. He'd go to his friend's house all the time and rock out to that CD.
-
Cradle of Filth? I've only ever heard 2 of their songs. The first was Her Ghost In The Fog. Fairly long, OK guitars, TERRIBLE vocals. Then there was the even longer Hallowed Be Thy Name. Rockin guitars, enough to inspire 7 minutes of headbanging, vocals are Okay if your into that sort of thing. ZERO browny points for being a remake of an Iron Maiden song. I think both versions are equally cool.

Writing A Battered Green Notebook [G]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Ailes de Velour's topic in Creative Works
I like this one. It wasn't really extraordinary and, to be honest, I only understand a little bit of it. It's just something about the word choice and structure I find appealing. I can't wait to hear the song, regardless of the terrible vocals ;) :p -
This seems pretty cool, not anything particularly new, but as I said before, very nifty. One question: just how old is the princess? At first when you said "young girl" I was thinking like 9 or something. Come to think of it, how old is the main charachter?

I Need Music Reccommendations - Instrumental
2010DigitalBoy replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
Glad to hear it. Ayreon's great. A didjeridoo is an Australian Aboriginal instrument made from a hollow log. You buzz into the mouthpiece and it makes a weird droning noise. Here's the Wikipedia article describing it, if you care that much. I know that the song with the didjeridoo in it, "Day Sixteen: Loser", has a video out, but I don't know where to find it. Maybe do a search for it, I dunno. But it's a cool video.
I did some research on Ayreon and listened to a few clips. The opera-ness kind of scares me and it's a bit too slow. I'm looking for something more fast-paced. -
Dude, I just had 2 more! Okay, I was listening to the radio, right? And I was skimming through one of my poetry books trying to pick out which ones Iliked so I could trash the others. As I'm doing this, an old Nine Inch Nails song was being played as part of Nine Inch Nails day. At the very exact second that Trent Reznor says 'sinking into me' I read those words i one of my poems!!! Then, only a few minutes ago, something similar happened while listening to the Mars Volta. I typed in a line (I can't remember what it was) and about 2 seconds later, the same line comes up!
