Writing A Battered Green Notebook [G]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Ailes de Velour's topic in Creative Works
The first one was interesting, and I suppose was meant to be lighthearted, am I wrong? I liked it, though I feel it was a little long like it was dragged out. I think you should delete some lines. The second I thought was awesome and ever moreso knowing that it was about your assistant principal XD -
Writing Reminisce [general; everyone and anyone can see it]
2010DigitalBoy replied to renayiiq's topic in Creative Works
Another excellent poem from you, renayiiq. This oone, though, I find awkward as some of the rhymes don't rhyme, and some lines aren't even close. I like the concept and suggest that you tweak it some more, as it is a very good poem that just doesn't reach the height of it's potential. I can't wait to see more from you. -
Gaming Best and worst game endings (spoiler)
2010DigitalBoy replied to fire_fly52's topic in Noosphere
*Awaits mods with spoiler instructions* Anyway, my favorite game ending was probably... God of War.
Kratos sits back in his golden chair, places his chin on his fist and just sits there looking totally bad-*** as the future unfolds.
That or Zone of the Enders the Second Runner in which
the main charachter is wheeled off for medical attention and the girl comes along to live happily ever after and Leo is reunited with ADA. I like endings like this which don't try to be all crazy, but just wrap up the story in a way that ends it well.
The worst would have to Zelda the Minish Cap, not that it was bad, but it was ruined because of some very stupid family issues which didn't even matter and were fully unjustified. I ought to kick all of their ***** for that one... -
NONONO!!! No beautiful songs! This is for pretty songs, beautiful goes in my next topic. Im talking about songs you'd want to hear at your school dance.
-
What did mother nature do that made you angry? Personally, I'd like to beat the snot out of mother nature for creating mosquitos. Bloodsucking little bastards who spread diseases and make you itchy, all while giving nothing to the community. Most animals serve some purpose, even if their annoyance outweighs it, but as soon as I found out they couldn't really bring back dinosaurs, I realised they were worthless and sucky (pun TOTALLY intended).

Writing Human [PG] One of my best works hope you like it.
2010DigitalBoy replied to echoavalon's topic in Creative Works
This was interesting. The rhythm, while strange, was intriguing and for some reason I liked this poem. The only thing I didn't like where the threee I belong lines, not for any reason, I just didn't like them (yes, I am THAT picky) but in the end, it's a great poem. You should try writing a really long one some time, it could be interesting. It's always fun to try out new forms of poetry. -
WHat is that song that's so pretty you just wanna grab your bf/gf and dance with them? That one that you have to sing when you hear it and may even play it at your wedding? The prettiest song I thing I''ve ever heard would be Lonely Day by System of a Down. Lonely Day Such a lonely day And its mine The most loneliest day Of my life Such a lonely day Should be banned It's a day that I Can't stand The most loneliest day of my life The most loneliest day of my life Such a lonely day Shouldn't exist It's a day that I'll Never miss Such a lonely day And it's mine The most lonelyiest day Of my life And if you go I wanna go with you And if you die I wanna die with you Take you hand and walk away... (awesome guitar) The most loneliest day of my life The most loneliest day of my life THE MOST LONELIEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!! Such a lonely day And it's mine It's a day that I'm glad I survived Ahh.... I love that song! Also, pretty and beautiful are two different things. I don't want your most beautiful song, just pretty.

I have begun reading a shojo manga series called "Nana" which stars two girls with the name, one a girl who falls in love with every boy she sees and is completely dumb, always needing help from her friend Junko. The first half of volume 1 tells her story of love and loss and how she struggles to remain "just friends" with a boy who secretly loves her. I haven't read all of the other Nana's story yet, but she is a hard rocker chick who parties with her band and has tons of loving fans. According to the back of the book they are to become best friends, but I haven't read that far :animeswea anyway, has anyone else heard of this? Apparently it was in Shojo Beat Magazine.
those types of females are hardly written or given much attention to.
Ha! Go read some shojo manga and come back saying the same! Anyway, I am the kind of guy who finds all the anime girls cute. (I am not a pervert! I'm a poor, helpless, diluted fanboy! We're all like this I promise!) Anyway, as far as cuteness goes I'd have to say Chii from Chobits takes the cake. The way she looks at m--I mean Hideki (too close!) is just so adorable! She's so innocent and full of love and energy, I just wanna reach out and give her a big hug! *is giddy* For hotness, I'd have to say that Rei and Asuka are pretty hot in some of the pictures I've seen (you did NOT hear that) but drawn properly in anime form with all their clothes on, my award goes to (drumroll) well hell, I can't decide, there are so many! As for video games, though, Lyn from Fire Emblem is my official OMG-I -worship-you chick. All nerds have one. They do!!!! *runs*

I don't care how evil they are, if the villain isn't deep, he comes across as uninteresting, and an uninteresting villain, to me, comes across as just... stupid. Usually when I see villains like Freeza (DBZ) or Toguro (Yu Yu Hakusho) or Naraku (Inuyasha) who seems simply to be evil for the sake of being evil, I find them to be boring and anyone who is kiled by them sucks for dying to such a crappy villain. A villain with a deep mental complew andlots of backstory, expecially one who gets a lot of showtime instead of lying unseen until the end of the game would capture my heart. For example, someone like Uchiha Itachi (Naruto) or Mithos Yggdrassil (Tales of Symphonia) who you are introduced to and learn about over a course of time and watch them go through with their story are far more compelling, and a good villain is a truly evil villain. THAT IS! Unless they make you feel bad for them. Then they are just pansies. If the villain was picked on his whole life and now turned evil, that's no fun because now he has justification. The things the villain has done have to be overbearingly evil beyond repentance. If they killed their own family or burned their village down, they are evil. If they want to destroy the world because "those ungrateful humans took everything away from them" the suck. Of course, backstabbers and betrayers are evil as well, unless theor the kind who run away when the going gets tough. And, of course, there are those villains who just breath coolness. You know who they are... the ruthless badasses who are nearly indestructable and do as they please. Not to mention the halfgood-halfbad all around lunatics like Haruko (FLCL) My two cents. Great Villains: Just about anyone from Naruto Sesshomaru (Inuyasha) Skurai the Cursed Prosecuter (Ragnarok) Haruhara Haruko (FLCL) Ansem (Kingdom Hearts) Just about any Final Fantasy villain (Sephiroth, Seymore, Kuja) Hajime Saito (Rurouni Kenshin) Shishiou (Rurouni Kenshin) Souta (Rurouni Kenshin) Fuma (X) And many more...

I would love it if someon could create for me the following banner: Okay, I want it to have Shugo and Rena from .hack//legend of the twilight, and Tsukasa and Mimiru from .hack//sign. It should show at least the upper portion of their bodues, though you could put their entire bodies on there if you feel like shrinking them. The background would be all white, possibly with a small tint of green. In the botom left, I wat ".hack" and if you can get it with the hollow dot thing that would be cool. That should be written in blue. In the bpttom right, in really small blue print it should say "? Nomad Tical ?" (the ?s are created by holding alt, pressing 0,1,3,4, and releasing) If you want to, you could make an avatar of Kite's head with .hack written somewhere. (kite is from the .hack games)

The OtakuBoards Nifty Fifty of 2005 (Nominations Thread)
2010DigitalBoy replied to Shy's topic in General Discussion
For now I only have 3 but I'll be back for more! 1. Dagger Dagger has been a huge help to me over the year, helping me find titles of various anime shows, helping me learn about new anime and changing my name 3 times. No one can challenge her infinite anime wisdom, and she's a great person to boot. 2. The almighty uberly awesome master of all, Dragon Warrior Dragon Warrior is my greatest inspiration and role model and possibly god. His stories like Dust DW and Otaku Hollow bring increadible joy and his mastery of humor is renowned. An expert drawer and storywriter with a million ideas. But the main reason I nominate him this year is for his leadership on the following project... 3. The Game Makers Thread This was quite possibly the funnest project I was a part of this year or ever and it wouldn't have been possible without DW. I was proud to complete my first game and of DW hosting it on his site. I would nominate the OB Anthology, but I only started getting into that this year, so I'll wait for the next nifty fifty. -
Hey all! As I began work on my 5th poetry book I decided I would post the first poem in each in order and see if anyone responds. Memory Poem from That One Odd Dude (Book 1) Looking back I see so vividly A swimming pool of memories A mass of visions inside my head Voices that I'll never hear again I see the good, the bad, the crazy Times of being active, times of being lazy I remember the fights, the yelling, the action I remember the times of love and passion I remember old dreams and aspirations Of being rich or ruling a nation I remember the times of desperation And of course, my constant instigation As I leave this pool of memories I begin to feel a little pleased Remembering things may be fun But I should look to the future before it is done This poem was written well over a year ago and was one of my first. I kind of rhymes, but mostly it's just words that sound the same, sort of An Ode To The Underworld from Because God Pulls No Punches (Book 2) Ah beautiful! So beautiful! This land we know as hell! Wide rivers of deep crimson And waterfalls of innocent blood Rotting bodies everywhere A putrid scent fills the air The endless fields of red scorched earth Magma streaming across the ground And the flames! Oh the flames! So many bodies they must scorch! And the fiery hail that drops like bombs Is so pretty in the summer The spikes protruding from the earth Covered in blood fill me with joy Oh beautiful, so beautiful This land we know as Hell! I was sure to throw this one in first so that people would turn away if they didn't like morbidity in poetry. This is one of my personal favorites. Oathkeeper from A. S.weet S.ensation (Book 3) I swear to God And Earth and Sun And Fire and Ice And myself, for one I swear to Heaven And Moon and Sky And Dark and Light And you and I This oath I keep Now and forever That no matter what Through wear and weather I shall always be yours Long as you are mine This path that we keep Is pure and divine Let us never forget This path that we keep Through waking hours And nights of sleep We are together You and me The two of us Will always be This one was actually written around the center of the book, but I didn't like the first one, so I chose one at random and found this. It was named after a weapon from Kingdom Hearts. Welcoming Commitee from Mandate For Madness (Book 4) Come forth The bringer of dark demise Blacken the skies Bring forth our final days Come forth The bringer of heavenly light Brighten the skies Bring forth life forevermore Come Forth The bringer of divine palance Make blue the skies Bring forth what is right Come forth The bringer of deceitful lies Make worse the wrongs Bring forth insecure doubt Come forth The bringer of justified truth Make right the wrongs Bring forth enlightenment Come forth The bringer of divine balance Decide right and wrong Bring forth what is meant to be brought No comment... Nobody But I from Callous (Book 5) Nobody knows me Nobody can care Nobody loves me Nobody is there Nobody hates me Nobody can see Nobody's with me Nobody can be I don't know anybody But for everyone I care I want to love somebody But I am never there I can't hate anybody But I can clearly see I wan't somebody with me But nobody wants to be Note that the tiitle "Nobody But I" are the three words which begin each line. This book is still in the making Well, thats all. Opinions?

Hm, I found that quite interesting. Y'know, in my recent time exploring the internet and doing a lot of reading, I've found that everywhere I turn is a person depressed for my reasons exactly and I can never help why if everyone feels it, no one knows, and this poem/story returned me to those thoughts. I liked the sty;e, as it was set up like a poem, though it came across more as a short story, mixing them together interestingly.

Writing A Battered Green Notebook [G]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Ailes de Velour's topic in Creative Works
I really liked that, the way you seemed to speek to the reader was... I don't know how to describe it, but I liked it. "Congradulations new adult You've made a bad descision" For some reason I really liked that line. I might have to pick up one of those dictionaries, as your rhymes were better than most I've seen used in poems. Good work. -
TO be honst, I felt it to be too rushed, and more of a summary then a story, though I'm guessing that this is mearly a precurser to the events taking place in the story,m right? I'd like to see the story itself before passing judgement.
-
I'm afraid I didn't quite like this one. The general feel of the poem escaped me. I don't like how you used lust in two rhymes and the line 'trouble always brewing, even in song' seemed sort of cheesy. At the end, you destroyed both the rhyme scheme and the rhythm entirely through abuse of exaggerated vocabulary. In the end I'd have to say this is my least favorite of all your work.
-
Well, I haven't read very many books though I am starting to get into them a lot now that I write them :animeswea I'd have to say that my favorite book of all time, though meant for younger folk, is Holes which was so much better than the movie.... 1984 is classic brilliance, for not only the reasons that Starwind stated, but also because it has a great plot and loveable charachters whose fate, in the end, hold meaning to you (well... they did to me) Henai#1 suggested Watchers which I'm assuming is reffering to the new novel series being released. It is rather short (I read it in 2 hours) but it is very good, with compelling and realistic charachters and an interesting plot which takes an interesting twist at the end. Brian Jaques's infamous Redwall series is always great for action fans, with masterfully orchestrated battle scenes and exciting exploration, which brings the greatness of action novels to the animal kingdom. I'm afraid those are the best I can offer, Animal Farm is good too, but it's too much like 1984, which is far better in my opinion.

After a full day I am finally dine reading and I have to say, this is the best fanfic I've ever read! I don't even know who Itachi is, but from reading your story he has instantly become my favorite Naruto charachter! I love the narration, the way the story is told, some of the lines were brilliant and memorable, and I love how Itachi puts his emotions into words. I cannot wait for chapter 5!

Why: A year and a half ago, I knew everything about anime. Then, in an instant, I dropped anime and moved on to video games. Now I'm transferring back. This should be a good way to help. Favorite Anime: I have several favorites. First and foremost, the Samurai X OVAs which were both awesome with great storylines and lots of carnage. I love all of the .hack series and I also love King of Bandits Jing. My favorite anime movie is either X or Spriggan. Anime to see questioned: Oh, I would DEFINETALLy like it if there were some .hack questions. Such a broad amount of storyline and information, it's perfect. Also, seeing as how I am a Rurouni Kenshin know-it-all, that would be good too ;)
-
Your work always stuns me with it's awesomeness, but this one was probably my favorite. The forth stanza, epecially, was great, specifically the line "You would turn your eyes and say 'no' " I liked that. I don't know if it was meant to, but I felt the tone of an Edgar Alan Poe story which I also liked. Brilliant, I can't wait for your next one!
-
This was pretty good, better than yoyr other one I'd say. I like the concept and your choice of words, but the rhyme scheme, while unique, bugs me. Perhaps it's just me, but I find it very confusing when you change it up like that. Perhaps if it were seperated into stanzas it would be easier to read.

Writing Lake of Blood. the fan fic version. [PG -- LSV]
2010DigitalBoy replied to GUNmanZERO7's topic in Creative Works
Um... how can I put this lightly? This is stupid. It's not funny, it's not exciting, it's not anything. You have set up no setting, it's all script so its confusing as hell figuring out what exactly is going on, and, overall, it's just stupid. -
What do you do when you have nothing to do?
2010DigitalBoy replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in General Discussion
Actually, not at all. That's the entire point of the thread. :bdance: I just picked up guitar, so I've got a lot to work on whenever I get bored. I also got two Twilight Zone collections for Christmas, so I've got a ton of watching to be doing. 8D But as for what you can do? Click the magical spherical puzzle, type stuff in, follow links. I promise you, you won't ever be bored again.
I suppose I could cram my cranium full of every last bit of information on Norse Mythology. Thanks, John! -
My problem is that I want someone to be close to me but I continually forsake all that I care about. I screw up all my relationships, I never say what I want to, and nobody thinks of me the way I want them to. I want people to know me and know who I am inside, but it seems as though nobody wants to hear what's in my heart. Helping me is like taking care of a pet, you have to pay attention to it or it'll die.
