Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?
I haven't seen it discussed on any forums I frequent. And one of the biggest deals in the anime fandom period? Cmon.
What forums do you frequent? Moe is definitely one of te most discussed things I've seen, namely debates over just what the hell it is, but more-so debates on wether it's good or 'destroying anime' as many fans seem to believe. If you want, I could point you in the direction of some great discussions or blog posts on the subject. -
Heavy Metal: A Head Banger's Discussion Thread

So I bought To the Nameless Dead by Primordial. I've only had the chance to listen to it fully once and oterwise only managed the first 2-3 songs a few times, and I've already heard Empires Fall online enough. however, I just finished Traito'rs Gate which is one of those songs you have to stop typing and just listen for a moment for the chance to go holy ****ing **** this is awesome. I'd peg them as somewhere in the Agalloch/Isis family, mixing Isis's dark, brooding, and lengthy all-consuming riffs with Agalloch's RAW EMOTION. There were also a few little parts that reminded me of Tool on Lateralus a little bit (before you dispute that, go listen to As Rome Burns again). Singer is a ****ing badass by the way. All the past few days I've been spewing lines from Empires Fall as I walk around. -
It's really not a big deal though is it?
Try the biggest deal in 21st Century anime fandom period. Probably the most discussed topic in the past couple years. EDIT: I shouldn't make that statement, having only been in the scene for around a half year, but from what I've read, I'd say it's accurate. -

Who wouldn't to be part of the forum that sniffs it's own farts more than any other on the internet? XD I'm here for... the people. Premonition, Dagger, Desbreko, Konata, Jakehammeren, Goodbye, Face, Kam, My Troupe of RP Buddies (you know who you are), the lovely Fyxe, and probably a couple others. Just, you know, people I know pretty well that I won't find elsewhere. Yall bastards have tied me here! XD -

Faserisk basicall summed up exactly what I was thinking. Nothing against moe, though, just agreeing lol. I do have my weaknesses. A lot of them. However, Dagger, you are right that anyone can be moe for a person. However, if you're using the term 'moe girl' it's FAR more dangerous. -
I'd wait till around spring break time to even bring up another death card game. The things are massive, time-sapping opuses requiring a lot of atention from all involed. Wait till things are a little more downtempo and the last one is far off in our memories, lol. I would really like to be in a death card game, but obviously I didn't have time for Sandy's (well, it als had something to do with being unable to get into the live-action chaacters) so I'd definitely say give everyone time.
Aww your just saying that cuz the lead character is probably the best moe character evar...seriously though this show has changed my opinion of moe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtBWoeZuVTI Oh and that Ending Theme is so epic...sure it's not to complicated but the dance...oh the dance.
Bah! You don't understand moe at all. And she barely expresses it, if at all. I wouldn't even call yurie moe. However, she is in my top 5 favorite characters evar. And Dagger ZOMG you didn't even get to the major Rail Tracer parts!!! Go watch plz!!! -

I liked the LS one a lot (skipped out on G00 since, well, I can't stand it) but yeah, totally awesome. The beginning with the running was perfect XD. Anyway, how can the show with the shortest attention span ever not satiate your attention span?! It's the most crack-addict-nine-year-old-without-ritalin show evar! XD You should probably re-watch as a block if you didn't the first time. -

Anyway people, since begging doesn't work, I have to find some way to get you to watch Baccano. However, I think my latest convert can say it much better than I can.

That would be my favorite cahracter, Rail Tracer. A million thanks to Konata for the badass fanart!!!! -

So, I just finished Eureka Seven, and color me blown the **** away. I?m not going to make any satements about this being a masterpiece or anything, but for me, personally, this show did just about everything right. For statarters, I want to admit that I absolutely loved the story and the characters, however, neither would have made this show one of my favorites. It might have breached my top 20 with it?s themes that match up with my beliefs, the excellent pacing (shocking for a 50-episode series!), and several win cahractrs (Stoner is mah homeboy). But it?s placement in my absolute favorites is due to something else entirely. The romance. Eureka and Renton are officially my favorite anime couple ever. For me, the bleeding romantic I am, it was the perfect love story. However, obviouslyy it?s not like it?s the most original love story ever told, so it would seem odd to proclaim E7 as my favorite over similar ones. however, Renton and Eureka themselves were just all around great. Expecially Eureka. She tapped into almost ALL of my weeknesses. Note: Digital Boy?s Weaknesses: Short hair, small breasts, intelligent yet emotional, romantic, has kids. The only one left out of Eureka?s case is: Smokes, however tapping into all the others is a feat accomplished masterfuly, lol. The biggest defining moments for me were something that has NEVER happened to me watching a show before. There have been plenty of times where I have teared up from a sad scene in a show (que Mai-HiME and the Key shows) and I teared up before because of something that blew my mind (Neon Genesis Evangelion) however, in Eureka Seven was the first time I have EVER teared up out of sheer, ubridled happiness. This show brought me a joy like I?ve never seen before. So yeah. ****ing naisu. -
I'm in a constatn bettle with my harddrive XD. Yes, ever since I learned how in Sep. I've been dling like crazy, and before that I used Veoh. At first, I didn't do any liscensed shows. Then, I startd doing liscenced shows XD I don't have anywhere near te money to always buy DVDs (epecially since I always go for special editions).

Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?

Abrief summary of the last few days Got 12 eps into Honey and Clover, planning to finish it in a single day, only to discover that there were 12 more episodes than I had originally thought. However, this show is absolutely amazing. The dramatic and romantic elements are incredible, and the selective narative is perfect. The characters are all loveable and Morita-sempai IS GOD. *would go ga for him* not to mention the absolute hilarity. The twister game makes my top 3 Most Lol Scenes Ever list. Watched 3 eps of Berserk and it was really cheesy. however, my recently aquired friend readvised me that i really should watch it, so I will later. This weekend I'm going to watch ALL of Eureka Seven. (That is, assuming I don't go '**** that, this is more important!' and finally watch Yamamoto Yohko live I've been saying I would for almost 2 god damn months) -
When my eyes were done being blinded by the light, there was a man and a girl I'd seen before off in the distance - or perhaps they were close by. Nothing existed beyond the infinite white. However, my brother was now beside me. "Bro, he's got my girl!" he called to me. I could tell he was feeling hotblooded, but I didn't want him running into battle randomly without assessing the enemy. "I'll handle this," I announced, spreading my arms wide. There was great force surging through my body, making my veins tickle. I concentrated all of my energy into my center. My heart. I felt my teeth begin to ache a little, and thunder was surging in my throat. My eyes became purple with the hottest of flames. An instant later, my chest exploded, sending a wave of blood flashing outward. The crimson shower splattered onto everything in the universe. The entire expanse of distance became red. Meanwhile, my insides were exposed to the world, and my arms had fallen limp at my sides. my knees bent as my torso drooped and a series of flashes shone as each of my organs exploded one at a time. Finally, my heart only remained and inside my newly empty torso, it grew to fill in all of my inside, then slowly dissolved. In it's place, a pure black Benelli shotgun rested. My arms began to flinch and contort, fingers spread wide and grasping. My right arm plunged into the chest cavity and gripped the gun, and all at once as I pulled it out, my chest closed again and sealed back together, shirt and everything. I think my brother puked, but I wasn't sure. I had already charged full force at my enemy. I knew that he probably had a way of knowing the distance between us, whereas I didn't. however, I cleared my mind and listened carefully. As I charged, I watched his face. I saw his lip curl into a smirk. "Heh." There! By the sound of his voice, he was 22 feet away! Immediately, I split right and zig-zagged once, readying my shotgun. He had to be using a short-range weapon, or he would have fired earlier. If he had a shotgun as well, I'd need to pull the trigger first, regardless of how much damage I could do at that distance. From 15 feet away, I stopped abruptly on my left foot and spun around, firing the burst at his chest. However, the shell fragments froze in midair at his torso, accompanied by a brazen, wild smile across his face. Thinking quickly, I dropped the gun and did a double back handspring, allowing me to dodge all of the fragments which were hurdled back at me. however, the instant I was on my feet again, the frightening man was already directly in front of me wearing a demented, freakish expression. "DIIIIEEEEE!!!" He cried, and plunged his arm clear through my hollow body, his hand poking out of my back. I heard a scream from the distance. "KALAS!!!" Brother... hurry...

It's always good to have stopping points and all. And I totally agree with Matt - wall of text is no good. And personally, I always went with a 1-chapter-per-post formula. and really, wouldn't double-posting just be totally infinitely more effeicient then restarting the thread every chapter?
Actually I have seen the anime and am a pretty big fan. I'm just not one who ventures to far outside the Theater to comment in such threads -_- I would be very interested if you were able to put up an RPG in the HiME style, I'm sure your old buddy Premotion would join as well.
I would not let him in anymore. not in this case, especially. Anyway, I'm glad you like the idea. Right now, I'm relly not qualified to run an RP, seeing as how I've blown off the past 2 I created and (probably) generally pissed off/lost the trust of all the participants :animesigh however, if you want to do an rp between just the two of us (after all, we're probably the only Mai-HiME fans and having it purely made up of fnas of the show might keep it more true to the style) I could probably go about creating it (since I wouldn't need to do as much explaining about the background information and all). Well this is it. My personal Sig To End All Sigs. I don't think I'll even have to make another sig request after this. Except maybe to update this when the next addition comes along. what am I looking for? All of the follwing characters compiled into one sig. I call it "short haired girls". Basically, all my favorite characters >_> So, I've got a bunch of pics. In cases with more than one pic, you choose which one to use. I can't decide >_>. For the theme, I want to use a lot of light colors and really faint but long text (like cursive or whatever). The text should read "Short-Haired Quiet Girls". And here's the pics... I was really tempted to do what I did in that thar music review thread and link to my old GameFAQs profile with 25 game reviews, but since my writing was less-than-good back then, I don't think it'd be very good (and besides those games would all be old by now hehe) however, I have gotten so out of gaming... the last review I did was for that Wii Pokemon game XD. the only game I have been playing lately is the one you already covered XDDDD Hmmmm... Halo 3: Obligatory Review So, I was a huge fan of the halo franchise in 2005. Halo 2 remains one of my favorite games of all time for it's stellar multiplayer experience, and Halo remains a favorite for it's great single player campaign. Needless to say, my expectations wer at least a bit high for Halo 3. However, unlike many, such as my brother who enthusiastically ranks it in his utmost highest places, I was pretty disappointed by halo 3. The multiplayer, to me, felt weighe down by all the things they tried to add. All of the extra modes and bonus features were boring to me, being the type of player who's fine with just his trusty shotgun if he gets to go kill his pals. this doesn't mean that anything has been done wrong - after all you can't really hate a game for what they added if you can perfectly ignore it. However, the bottom line is that Halo 2 was much more my style on multiplayer. For me, it was the perfect experience already, and the minor cahnges made it loose it's perfection. As for single player, well, Halo 2 didn't have the best single player ever, but halo 3 just bored the hell out of me on single player. No really, truly memorable parts, except the maybe very end. 8/10

Hm. Personally, when I used to do a lot of stuff in the anthology, as soon as I made a post and no one replied, I stopped writing the story. Obviously, this is a rather depressing situation. That's all the input I can really give - just my perspective.

When we arrived at the tower, I don't think there had ever been a time that I needed to shit more, so the dramatic effect was completely ruined. However, I kept a dramatic expression as best possible since my brother seemed to be enjoying it so much. When we reached the door, having battled through the sandstorm, We removed our desert gear. I was wearing a tuxedo. This was necessary. When I placed my hand on the door handle, a voice rang in my head. "RUN LIKE HELL!!!" My brother seemed to have heard it as well. However, we both smiled. I could say I was full of myself. I was confident. I knew that I was capable of making my way through this hell. And my brother, having seen his special powers in action, was sure as well. I smirked. There was lire in my eyes, and lightning on my tongue. Chewing this current like gum, I spit it out in the form of an array of sparks. "Let's do this," I said in the most badass way possible. My brother was pumped. "Yeah!" We opened the double-doors and stepped into the darkness of the interior. I didn't have to shit anymore - something about the darkness seemed to flood right into me, cleaning my insides. The doors were closed behind me. It suddenly became apparent that I couldn't feel my brother's presence anymore. I tried looking around, but I couldn't even tell which direction my body was facing. Left, right, up, and down dissipated. It felt like acid was pouring into my nose, ears, eyes, and mouth. I felt my innards begin to dissolve. I'm done already? Right as we enter? But then I felt some presence. Some... power. Brother...
That actually sounds kind of plausible. I, at least, do tend to like the sound of A names, or at least ones that start with a short A sound. I ended up using A names for my first two Guild Wars characters and have had to stop myself from using more for other characters so I'd have some variety. :p lolz @ DB for having a Mac.
I also have 2 PCs. 2010DigitalBoy replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
If you like the Tsukihime anime, you should try the game (there's a translation patch). The anime is quite enjoyable in its own right--and notable for being the first anime to be based on a doujin visual novel--but the game is much vaster in scope. Can't remember... were you watching El Cazador? and/or have you seen Madlax? Noir is still my favorite out of the "trilogy" by a long shot, though I'd be hard-pressed to explain why in concrete terms. @Des: Yay, another Aria fan!! Do you have a favorite undine? :catgirl: ~Dagger~
I only ever got 2 eps into el C, bur from what I've seen of Noir, I don't like it much... As for playing the Tsukihime game, well, last time I DLed A Drug that Makes You Dream, I found it isn't playable on a mac -_- I'll try to find a way to get it though.
