1. For anyone having trouble with this game, there is now a mini-strategy guide available on the Nippon Ichi website. Simply register an account, click members and guides. The mini guide tells about everything in the game except a walkthrough. Its even got a detailed history of the Atelier games.
2. sweet, thanks, thats perfect! I don't need an avatar, I always change the avatar.
3. Do strategy RPGs count as RPGs? Does Zelda count as an RPG? Zelda is an adventure game. And personally I think Phantasy Star Online is one of the best RPGs ever, because when you get together with a few more people it is awesome. If SRPGs do count, I pick Disgaea hands down. The whole system of ordering all of your charachters to do things and then executing them whenever you want is awesome. The sheer amount of stuff to do in that game is overwhelming. I just bought La Pucelle, the prequel, and its not quite as cool, but awesome nonetheless. NIS has a new game, Makai Kingdom, coming to America July 28!
4. I have played Tales of Symphonia and decided that it has the best battle system in any RPG ever. I love being able to move around and use different combos. I didn't like Star Oceans battle system as much, because the free raoming was a bit annoying, and the combo system sucked. The AI in Tales of Symphonia was way better too.
5. I have the Inuyashs PS1 game, and it is pretty cool. I love how the moves are easy to pull of. The announcer guy is also awesome. I only wish I knew Japanese... anyway, just like ny fighting game, I stopped playing after Shippo handed me my butt on a platter... and Shippo is most definetally a dude.
6. I have a little kitty named Kilala who just turned 1 year old (human years) and is currently pregnant. Kilalacan never decide if she wants to be inside or outside, so she forces you to open and close the door over and over again...
7. Yeah, I know, theres a who's online section. But lets say I'm in an RPG. I read everything and start typing a super long post. Someone else is reading the thread while Im posting and they write a post and enter it before me. I feel stupid because we're going to have to fix it. There has to be some way to know.
8. Hm... it worries me that it may be to easy. If its anything like Mario Power Tennis, Home Runs will be way to easy to get. Who knows, they might be able to pull it off. Two player mode is the real selling point of the series, so if Home Runs are easy to get, multiplayer will get boring quick. Ill wait till I read some revies. Mario Strikers (soccer) looks promising.
9. Thats bull. Atelier Iris has THE best sprites I have ever seen. They have so many animations! When you go to your house and see everyone sitting around they do sifferent things almost every time. You can sometimes find people smoking pipes and polishing weapons. The sprites are constantly moving, even when standing still. The ONLY problem with the graphics is the world map. Other than than, this game is one of my favorite graphical experiences to date. The world map isn't that big of a concern, as you are hardly ever on it, and its hideousness actually makes it the most easily navigatable World maps ever. No Exagerration. The world map is very straitforward. Its just UGLY! None of the designes for towns and things on the map make sense! But its easy!
10. There is only one real problem with this game. The English voice acting is the worst I have ever heard in any video game ever. No Exaggerating. I play it in Japanese. Minor note, the world map is HIDEOUS.
11.
If I had a five year old son, would I let him play GTA? Possibly not. But not because I'm afraid of him being influenced to kill people with baseball bats. I'd only prevent him from playing if I felt that it would actually frighten him or something like that. I think parents need to instill that responsibility into their kids by allowing the children to make decisions and to determine outcomes for themselves. Yes, parents can do some protective things as they should - but it has to be within reason. And parents need to understand that they can't blame a video game for their lack of parenting in general.[/font']
Exactly. Thats my full opinion on things. My parents raised me that way. They didn't sensor me, but they taught me what it meant to kill someone, so I was afraid of seeing anything die and made the choice to refuse to watch violent movies or play GTA. Now, of course, I play God of War and slaughter countless innocents, but I know damn well the cosequences of those actions in the real world.
12. It is what it says. MY THING: (warning: this is a very immature thing to do, please leave if you are disgusted by immaturity.) Oh god this is embarrassing... well... this is something I suggest that anyone who reads manga while on the toilet should do. If you have a brother or stupid friend over, read the manga out loud in a really crazy voice. My brother and his friend were rolling with laughter when I read Naruto from the bathroom in a corny kungfu voice. They found it quite amusing when I bellowed LIGHTING BLADES!
13. I second the secondness of the seconding. This should be stated in the rules. OR There could be a sticky thread in the Otaku Lounge where people post their introductions. That way it wpuold be orderly and contained, and the rest of the great posts in Otaku Lounge would be there as an example.
14. ... is one of the best turn-based RPGs Ive ever played! Alchemy! Wow! To the point, Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana is the sixth game in the long-running Japanese Atelier series. I really wish I could play those games, but I can't, so whatever. This game is great. The battle system is essentially turn-based, and is as basic as any other turn based RPG. Think Final Fantasy X, but easier. Yeah, Ill admit, the game is really easy, but since I hate level grinding, this is okay with me. One of the best things about this game is the Alchemy. There are around 200 items in the game that you can take to shops and turn them into stuff that the store will sell. There is a lot of other crap you can do too. Not to mention there are a ton of sidequests, none of which suck like chocobo races. So far, this game rules, and I have spent more time doing random crap than going with the story.
15. As stupid as this issue sounds, it could seriously alter the sales of GTA SA. You see, the greater mojrity of video games are sold by Wal-Mart, and they refuse to sell AO games. I don't see why GTA SA should be changed...
16. TV shows always make stuff like that seem reallly important, like kissing in a show means the charachters are REALLY close, and "it" makes it seem like their undetatchable. The only way that anyone in this show is "doing it" is if their really attached. And Miroku is a virgin. He always asks the girls to bear his "first" child.
17. No, I do not think that they "did it". Don't you think she'd have gotten pregnant? They didn't have any protection back then, if you had sex, you were going to have a kid. Besides, they were both like 15... though back then... but still. And no, he didn't "do it" with Kagome either.
18. I thought the graphics were great, overrated and overly hated, but great. I think the game itself is very great, but I don't play much of that kind of game, so I haven't gotten all that far.
19. Oh, I know the minimum specs, I just don't know what the HECK they mean. I just want to know the minimum priced equipment I need to get.
20.
Nomination for sephiroth!!! A) he has silver hair :D 2) some random reason why he's cool. D) it'll annoy bloodseeker :naughty: heh heh heh
This vote, along with the one for Ivo Robotnik, should be counted as invalid. Neither one of them state the name of the game! (Hopes LD doesn't come back)
21. Oh... yeah, you probably won't be able to find it... how about I change that to Clank from Ratchet and Clank? He can't be hard to find.
22. Yeah, I know, unorigional ain't it? Anyway this is the sequel to Tales of Symphonia set to come out next year. I don't think it will have any connection to the last game. For some ungodly reason, they've decided to make it a PS2 exclusive. The art style is also completely different. I have an image of the main charachter below.
23. In my professional opinion, that is the coolest RPG idea I have heard in my entire time here at OB. Go for it, dude, I'll definetally join!
