I have officially decided that g4 is a bad, horrible thing. You see, where I live g4 is on normal cable, so everyone can see it, which leads to a lot of non gamers seeing it and getting their facts confused. The worst part, though, is when I sit down at the nerd table and everyone starts talking about games, but everything they say is something they heard on Xplay! You can't judge a game by what Xplay says! There is another reason I don't like it. They show insane amounts of spoilers and you can't avoid it. I am REALLY dissapointed with the fact that I am playing Final Fantasy 7 fully knowing that
Aeris is going to die on the first disk
and I happen to be around 20 minutes short of when its going to happen, so when I get there the shock everyone else felt when they got there will be wasted on me. Thanks a lot Filter!

I never thought about the fact that the PS3s graphics wouldn't be that good right away. I feel dumb. Anyway, the main thing that excites me about the new, awesome graphics is the fact that, as James said, all the little developers will be done for. This is good because not only will there be less games to have to keep up with, but they will all be good. I hate the fact that I can't afford all the games I want because theres too darn many of them. And Cow Tipper, I don't think the 360 is going to do all that well. The graphics aren't that much better, and the Xbox was the wprst of this generations consols, in the fact that it lost Microsoft a lot of money and sold the least of the three. A new Halo game isn't worth spending 400 bucks on a game console.

Oddly enough, and I never realised this, despite being a huge RPG person, other than the Pokemon games the oonly RPG Ive ever beaten was Golden Sun. It was a fight to remember though. When Saturos and Menardi
fuse into a huge Cerberus thing and start using insane attacks. First they had the lunar drop attack where they jump way up into outer space then come crashing down, hurting all of your charachters for around 3 to 5 hundred. Then there were the individual attacks that did around 700. Every turn I had to use as many summons as possible, and the fight dragged on for around 25 to thirty minutes.
the dude had taken me a ton of tries. I had actually stpped playing for two months and came back, and it still took a few tries. To anyone who hasn't played this, LEVEL UP A LOT!

Tical beat a few zombies off of him and looked around to see that Sarissa and Morag were now with them. He fought off some more and headed in their diretion to help them out. He looked over to Sarissa. "No such thing as zombies, is there?" he said in a dry tone. "Alright, I was wrong, LOOK OUT!" Tical ducked as a claw went over his head. He quickly slid his hand down the neck of the guitar, and jammed it through the zombies stomach, pulled it out, and pounded the undead into oblivion. Meanwhile Sarissa kicked one in the face and its head came off, then reached into its chest and pulled out its dacaying heart. At that second, the zombie disintegrated into noting. "The heart!," she screamed, "aim for the heart!" The warriors all immedieatly started aiming for the zombies' hearts. Katchya whipped her dagger out and impaled one, then turned around and swiped another in half with her blade. The decayed bodies were particularly easy to cut through. One of the other warriors had a crossbow and proceeded to pierce many of the zombies' chests with ease. another warrior stabbed his sword through four zombies at once. In a matter of minutes, all of the zombies were dead, and the group began taking buckets of water from the lake and using them to put out the flames. Finally, the turmoil was over. "We thank you very much, travellers. We could not have defeated the horde without your assistance," one of the warriors said, heartilly. "Colette was very brave in bringing us here." Tical said. "Who are you warriors?" One of the older women asked. Tical quickly whipped his guitar out and spun it around his head, then plopped it to the ground, "We are the Secondhand Fiddles!" "I see," one of the warriors mused, "We would like to give you a small token of our appreciation." The burly man held up a treasure chest about 8 inches by 8 inches in size, and opened it to reveal two beutifull crystals, one red and one blue. He handed the chest to Tical, who's eyes were gleaming. "You are very generous, sir." Katchya said, smiling. "I hate to be a party pooper, but how do we get out of here?" Morag asked. "Simple," the huge man began and pointed to a small hole in the trees, "This forest is magic. Simply go over to the hole, and ask to be sent out of the forest. Where you stepped into the forest is where you will step out." The Secondhand Fiddles finally made it back to their caravan where Luca, Imelda, and Widdershins were waiting.

Thanks both of you, but Im going to have to go with the one by Who am I. Its still open, though.

I would like a Final Fantasy 9 banner. I want it to have Zidane and Vivi and the Princess in it. That would rule. Also, can it say, "There can be Only One" if you want, you can make an avatar too, but I really don't care.

Tical breathed heavily, his guitar still in hand. He heard something coming from behind him. "Tical," Katchya said putting her hand on his shoulder. He screamed and turned, swinging his guitar, but Katchya blocked it with her sword. "Oh, Katchya, it you. Why did you sneak up on me?" "I thought you needed help, so I came to save you." "Why would you think that?" "Oh, I don't know, maybe because you screamed so loud Morag could probably hear you from the caravan!" "Right, well I was attacked by a zombie, yes they are real, no they aren't smart, yes I need to change my underwear." "Ew." Just as Katchya spoke, they heard a moaning sound coming from behind them. Suddenly around 15 zombies appeared behind them. "AAAAA! RUN!" Tical screamed. "Here, grab onto this knife, the string will keep us connected," Katchya said, handing Tical the knife. The two of them went sprinting into the woods. As they ran the air grew thicker. "Do you smell... smoke?" Katchya asked... them both of them realised, "The Village! We must be getting close!" They reached a huge opening in the woods, and saw four houses set up in a big square. In the center, a small group of warriors was fighting off hordes of zombies. One of the houses was on fire. They saw someone come out of the house with a child and put him in a different house. "If we save them and get their treasure, the captain will think we're the best! he'll give us an extra helping of dinner!" Tical said. A sweatdrop appeared on Katchya's head, "lets just save them...
The only way would be to have someone independently rate threads. But that's obviously out of the question for sheer logistical reasons alone.
Waot... Im confused. What do you mean by "independently rate threads", and why does that go against logistical reason? Ill do it! (Itd give me something to do) anyway, I agree wholely with Dragonblood. Just look at the new movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which involves heavy gunfire, explosions, making out, probably lots of death, and a LOT of weapons, and that got PG-13. -
Tical was in tears and he stated to freak out. "Where are you captain?!" he screamed, but there was no answer. Suddenly he heard a rustle in the bushes. He looked over to them. "Collete? Is that you?" But what burst out was far more horrifying than a little girl (if thats possible.) "z...z...ZOMBIE!" Tical screamed as an undead creature tumbled forth through the bushes. Meanwhile... "Did you hear that?" Luca asked. "It sounded like Dumba... I mean Tical," Imelda replied. "Not that," Luca replied dryly, "he said zombie." "But... I thought zombies were only legend?" Back with Tical... Tical readied his signature guitar, scared to the point that he was about to crap himself. The zombie slowly slunked towards Tical who was frozen with fear. The zombie let out a hideous howl. Tical screamed and came charging towards the zombie and beat its head off. He was breathing heavily and smirked when he realized what he had done. But he let out another shriek when the headless lombie reached its hand up and put it on his shoulder. He pounded the beast in its chest, knocking it to the ground, then beat it repeatedly with the guitar sreaming, until it was completely flat. Tical then passed out from sheer fear.

You know, I have to agree the rating system is misused. I am always searching for a good RPG to join, but I am always scared off by the M rating, and the ones I get into (like Secondhand Fiddles and the one about th evil wind) were/are really good. Also, its not as though anyone pays attention to the ratings. Most of this site is thirteen through fifteen year olds and nothing is stopping us from going to M-rated threads. I think things like this should be discussed withen the thread. For instance, Dragon_Warrior always gives detailed instructions on what you can and cannot do. Thats being a responsible RPG maker and if you're not responsible enough to do that, you shouldn't be making RPGs. -
"whats the matter, Widdershins?" Luca asked hearing the cat hiss angrilly. "Theres something in those bushes that smells of corpses and grveyard soil," Widdershins replied, sounding serious for once. "Um, captain," Tical began, "You don't think its a... you know... Zombie do you?" "Thats rediculous, Tical, there aint no such thing as zombies!" Sarissa snapped at him. "Well," Luca began. The others looked at him, "Thats... not entirely true. I've seen a zombie before. Their attracked to large masses of people, but they fear water. Most towns are built near bodies of water, for obvious reasons, and thats why zombies dont attack them. Tical, the map." After a quick overview of the map Tical replied, "erm... captain there are no rivers anywhere near here." The group turned back to the bushes where the creature began to emerge. The adventurers readied for combat. They started to see it and... It was a little girl. The came out looking hurt, and she fell to the ground. "I told you there was no such thing as zombies!" Sarissa screamed, and beat Tical in the back of the head. Imelda ran over to the girl, "I think she was attacked... she was lucky to survive such wounds." "Well... you guys go ahead and fight the big scary monster, me and Widdershins will guard the caravan," Morag said wearilly. The little girl started to wake up. "Help... me... my town... its under attack..." "Town, theres no other town on the map," Tical said, studying the map carefully. "Its... more of a village. There are... only 4 houses. We're a village of warriors... four warriors that had fought hard to save their old hometowns moved out here next to a small lake. We lived nice lives, even though there is no other civilization near here. The village is being attacked by monsters... help us..." "Captain, the village is doomed, theres no reason to go there.." Tical began but was cut off by Luca speaking to the little girl. "So, little girl" "Its Collete" "Collete, this village of yours, are you very well of? I mean, surely such great warriors must have many goods." "Well, we have a lot that is of worth. Surely you would be offered great treasures for saving us." "ALRIGHT then! Gang, lets hurry, we're saving the village! Lead the way Collete!"

Gaming Your opinion on the next year of gaming.
2010DigitalBoy replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
My opinion, by TOOD PC: I think that over the next year and the year after that the PC will completely die. There are a LOT of diehard nerds that only play PC games complaining that consols are inadequite, but with the rise of casual gamers, the rise of graphics on consoles, and the rise of great console games, the PC's future is looking pretty bleak. Not to sound stupid but, I kind of hope the PC dies. Im not even sure why, but something tells me the death of the PC, if handled intellegently, will turn out well. Play Station 2: This seems to have the brightest future as far as 2005 goes. First of all, Final Fantasy 12 looks freaking awesome. This could quite possibly the best FF game yet. Theres also Dragon Quest 8. I have a fealing those two games will sell insanely. Lets not forget Okami, the calligraphy game developed under the Viewtifull Joe engine. There are also many other games that look sweet. Play Station 3: That is assuming it comes out before July 2006. I think this will be the bestseller of the consols, but until I see a price I believe nothing! This console has the best graphics I have ever freakin seen! They're, like, Shrek 2 good or Star Wars Episode 3 good! Anyone who's seen the Killzone 2 trailer knows the insane graphics and AI of the PS 3. One thing troubles me, though. I haven't seen any actual gameplay footage! XBox: Um... I haven't really heard of any Xbox game coming out... Xbox 360: Wow. This seems to be a failure on so many levels. The controller is the exact same as the Xbox, meaning the games can't be too different. The graphics are hardly better than the stupid Xbox!!! What the heck? Its almost as though they took an Xbox, but it in a new container, and put it back out! The only game Im excited about is one Im also dissapointed in because it should have been released on the Xbox and thats Kameo Elements of Power. It isn't worth it. Gamecube: There isn't much, but what there is is the best. First off, Zelda Twilight Princess. What is there to say that hasn't been said? Theres also Battalion Wars, which is like Ratchet and Clank meets Advanced Wars. Finally, theres Fire Emblem which may not sell well because its so much like the others. PSP: This seems like the DS killer because of the publicity, but in reality the DS pwns its *****. I mean, yes it has better graphics and a lot of sweet games, but its just too expensive. Ill get one though. DS: This is going in the right direction, online. Not only is there a wide variety of new games, like Animal Crossing, Super Mario Cart, Castlevania, Nintendogs, Electroplankton, New Super Mario Brothers, and Viewtiful Joe. Im sure this will be a great year for the DS. GBA: This still has a lot of life in it, with the new Fire Emblem, Wario Ware Twisted, some new Yoshi game and a lot more on the horizon. Unfortuanetally, I think that with the DS and PSP out, people are going to start qualifying it as useless. N-Gage: Hold on, whats this doing here? Go away N-Gage and take all four of your fans with you! -
That may be true, but you already have, like, all the Jim Carey movies. Lets not forget every movie with Ben Stiller in it! Meet the Parents: This movie is hilarious. Its about a guy who is meeting his fiance's parents and her dad is insane and all kinds of horrible things happen! Meet the Fockers: The sequel to Meet the Parents, this was okay, but not as cool. Its about the parents of both charachters meeting and being exact oposite. Starsky and Hutch: This is probably his best movie about two cops who are bad at their job and want to prove themselves. There are others that I havent seen like Dodgeball and Zoolander.

I like lists... FF1: The only one Ive beaten, and one of my favorites. I love the simplicity of it and its open-ended ness. Raising all of my charachters to level 99 and killing every last enemy is an experience I will not soon forget. Omega pwns your ***! FF2: So far this is my least favorite Final Fantasy. Yes it had the first real story and stuff, but it really, really sucks. All of the charachters have next to no MP making the spells hard to use. Also, the chick is unable to hit any enemies and therefore is useless as far as attacking goes. Id have her only cast spells, but theres no MP!!! Also, I hate how the leveling up system is item based, so when you lose an item, you lose your level. It seems like a failed experiment. FF3: I havent played it... FF4: ditto FF5: Okay, Ive only played around 30 minutes of this but from what Ive played it seems alright. The story is very weak so far... FF6: Im around 3 hours into this and I love the story! Kefka cracks me up. The dudes all "Why does the king have his castle in the middle of the frikkin desert?" And he does that weird laugh thing. HA! But I guess he gets eviler later. FF7: This is the only game Ive played where it takes 6 hours to get to the world map! Thats how far I am and I must say this is gaming gold. I love the motorcycle battles! FF8: Of the first 8 Im the farthest on this (other than FF1). After reaching disk 2 I am quite confused. Im at the prison level, and I understand most of what's happening, but the whole part where the sorceress is calling the people retards and saying she'll torture the world and the people are just cheering makes no sense at all. FF9: Im only 2 and a half hours into this but its one of my favorites. Its so light hearted and the charachters are so... CHIBI!!! I love that it goes back to the basics. Now if I can just kill that darn Ice Demon... FF10: Probably my favorite, but only because Im, like, 40 hours into it (I have to start over though). I love the sphere system, its probably my favorite system of them all. The story is okay, but at the point Ive reached its still full of holes. one thing that bugs me is that often the charachters find things out that you expect them to dwell on and freak out over and they just ignore it. FF10-2: I havent played it, but from what Ive seen, its weird. FF11: Havent played. FF12: Wow, that looks awesome! The graphics are insane and best of all it takes place in Ivalice! Bangaa for everyone! FFT: Havent played it. FFTA: This is probably the best tactics game ever. The spell system is the best in any game ever. I LOVE IT. The battles are cool and beating 300 missions is insane. The clan wars rule, as they provide experience and the clans level up! I love telling people they can't join the clan and seeing their reaction "the member left crying." FFCC: You would think this would be really cool but its really only half great. I have the spell system, but the game is solid. FF Legends 1,2,3: These are those really weird GB games no one remembers. I played the first one for a little and got freaked out. Its like Pokemon, if Pokemon sucked. I havent played any of those Chocobo Land games, but Im sure Ill end up with them eventually.
-
Fine collection you have theree Kaise! I love most of those movies! I suggest you buy every movie with Adam Sandler in it. Heres a few of them. Little Nicky: The son of Satan has to save his dad by going to Earth to stop his two brothers from taking over the world. This is a hilarious movie with a major plot twist. 50 First Dates: Adam is dating a girl who cannot remember anything from the day before, so Adam has to find a way to get her to remember him. Happy Gilmore: An ex-hokey player finds out that he is awesome golfer, though he can't put at all, and seeks help from an old pro. Big Daddy: Adam has to take care of a kid and he has no idea what hes doing. This one is a little teary.... The Longest Yard: This is still in theaters but its about Adam and Chris Rock forming a football team out of prisoners. Wow. Thats all I can think of right now...

At this years E3, some wonderfull things have been shown. From the brilliant, whimsical Okami to the hardcore fragfest Battlefield 2. From the PS3 with its insane graphics, to the Xbox 360 which looks no better than the Xbox. The awesome RPG Final Fantasy 12, and the oh-my-god-that-is-sweet The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. Im sick of reading Gamespot and watching g4 24 hours a day, I want the opinion of the people! Tell me your thoughts! Tell me of your hatred for Microsoft, tell me your love for Nintendogs, tell me everything! Ill be back in a while to speak my thoughts (expect a really long post).

OOC: Nice music. Crystal Cronicles right? Its also in .hack//INFECTION. Tical quickly grabbed his guitar and jumped off the wagon. "Don't worry captain, I will defend the carvan with all of my strength!" He yelled as he ran towards the monster. "Relax Tical, its only a mole, its not like we're fighting a golem or a dragon," Luca said scratching his head. "We must take no battle lightly! That is the way of the warrior!" And with that Tical leapt forward and beat the Moltender in the face. The poor beast flew backwards about three feet and landed on its back. It slowly found its way onto its feet. The Moltender stood up strait trying to look tough, but then it started crying. "Aww, its only a kiid, you didn't have to pummel it into oblivion Tical!" Sarissa commented, running over to help the poor critter. As she approached it, it made a shrill whistling noise. "Um... what was that captain?" Tical asked. Widdershins answed as though she knew everything. "Its calling the rest of its clan. About 8 older Moltenders are probably going to sprout out of the ground and attack us in a matter of moments." "Tical, you dolt, what the heck were you thinking?!" Imelda screamed. "Obviously nothing," He replied in a dry tone. The team redied themselves for a tough fight.

I first got into video games because during a fierce obsession with Pokemon, I subscribed to 3 years of Nintendo Power, causing me to be a Nintendo freak and in effect miss out on EVERY major gaming event up until 2004. Wow, I suck. Anyway, Now that Im a Game Informer subscriber I get a lot more neccessary informatioin. Sometimes, tthough, I see those XBMs and PSMs and all their bonus crap and think, "Should I subscibe to them?" Then, today I got an email from Nintendo Power allowing me to get three free issues and a chance to subscribe afterwards. I liked that idea to. Now I wonder, What is the best magazine to subscribe to? Yes, Game Informer gives a lot of info, but its always totally late. I don't know what to do!

I fall into the category of... nothing. I am odd, hence the name, ThatOneOddDude. Thats what people know me as, thats what people will remember me as. The jocks call me a nerd, the nerds are mean, the emo kids are cool with me, but we share NO interests. I try to classify myself as a geek, but it doesn't work. Im just odd. And I mix well. I can roll with jocks if they aren't bothered by me, and if the nerds aren't too FRIKKIN ANNOYING I can deal with them. I can't stand preps. They bother me.

PS2 Disgaea: Cartoony. Tactics. RPG. What more is there? Well, other than it being right up there with Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics as far as tactics games go. Phantom Brave: Basically a sequal to Disgaea. Star Ocean 3: Great battle system, much like Tales of Symphonia, and over 70 hours long. .hack 1-4: These four combined are around 60 bucks and offer around 100 hours of gameplay. GC Tales of Symphonia: This is the most playable game EVER. I usually play it in 5 minute intervals and get a lot accomplished. Over 60 hours supposedly.
-
There has recently a mysterious appearance. A Fianl Fantasy 7 tech dem for the PS3, recreating the opening scene with beautiful graphics. No more blocky dudes. There come smy question. Please, for the love of god, tell me they aren't remaking Final Fantasy 7! DOES THE MILKING END??? I hope you all express equal concern. This thread now open for rumors, facts, and conspiracy theories.
-
If you have 60 bucks, buy all 4 .hack games. If you play them all to 100% and beat them all then the overall playtime is around 80 to 120 hours. Great story, and a moderate battle system. Star Ocean 2 and 3 and Tales of Symphonia are both pretty long RPGs with the coolest battle systems ever. Star Ocean 2, if played to 100% completion, should take over 200 hours with a strategy guide. And TOS has a great storyline, even if it is choch full of steriotypes. They're the best stereotypes IVE ever seen.

Lets see... is there any specifit genre you like above the others? I could neme 40 RPGs in a second but RTS... *air*

Thank god I found this before it was too late... Name: Tical Zidane Gender: Male Age: 22 Skill: Engineer/Guitarist Entertainment: He likes to play his special guitar he invented. He is currently working on new types of guitars to play, including his latest project "electric" guitar. He hopes to finish it withen 20 years... Appearance: Kyohen is a bit shorter than most, at 5 feet and 4 inches. He has blue hair that goes down to his shoulders. He wears normal brown travelers pants and a blue tunic. Ktohen has horrible eyesight and wears small thin, brown glasses that hang on the tip of his nose, with a blue tint... specially designed of course. He wears a large sombrero as well. His guitar is a specially designed acoustic painted a thin coat of dark blue. Personality: Kyohen considers himself a ladies man, and he is sometimes, but he always screws up and loses his girl. He isn't all that smart, but he isn't wreckless. Hes the kind of guy who would see a dark forest and say "I aint going in there..." while the wreckless ones run in. He isn't a bad fighter, as he can use any short sword, but he isn't all that strong. Kyohen's one major flaw is that he is a chain-smoker. Other: He is simply a thief and goes where the captain says... -
You played it once? Maybe thats why you love it so much. I was excited the first time I played it, but after a while the dissapearing magic and returnable levels started to wear on my nerves. I haven't beaten it yet. Im working on FF6. Kefka is hillarious!
