1.
This is old school but
Roy Fokker
from Macross/Robotech was sad and unexpected. That was the first real anime death that I remember. This was a long time ago when there weren't really deaths in any "cartoons" on TV in the 80s.
Aw man, I can't tell you how pissed I was. Well, maybe proud or in manly pain would be better explanations. I gotta say, though, he went out in the most badass way I've ever seen a character go out. That scene was brilliant.
 2.
Aria seems almost like a cross between Kaleido Star and Sketchbook ~full color'S~
I dunno about Kaleido Star, except maybe in the main character's personality, however I'd say Sketchbook is a good comparison. I also suggest Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou if you're looking for anime of this kind, since it's generally considered the king of slow shows (and it is SLOOOOW) Currently sort-of-watching Noir, just finished Someday's Dreamers which I am 100% sure Dagger and Des would love, and watching Tsukihime now.
 3.
Um, I hope no one has used this topic... This is my first thread I've done. If it sucks, sorry! Just jot down sad anime deaths and why they're sad! Mine was with Naruto's Haku because he was my fave character. I hate the fact that he had to die so greusomely!
I actually really liked that death. Don't get me wrong, he was my favorite character back when I was into Naruto, but I thought his death was beautiful and kewl. Sad deaths?
go watch Kanon and Air
both are chocked full of depressing pancakes... and a lot of FALSE PANCAKES in one of them lol. Other than that, from Simoun there was
Mamiina's death which wasn't as dramatic as I'd have liked, but still pretty sad. At least she brought out the best in Rodoraemon.
AND OH MY EFFING GOD, there was NO MAN who didn't shed tears when
Kamina ate MANLY PANCAKES
in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Easily one of the most memorable deaths ever.
 4.
Queens of the Stone Age: Era Vulgaris Every Queens album sounds completely different from the last, but yet have a similar air of familiarity, and Era Vulgaris fits this description, but in a way, doesn't. That may not make sense, but I challenge you to listen to Lullbies to Paralyze then Era Vulgaris. Vulgaris sounds so much more cocky, in-your-face, and not as sad, but it still is QOTSA. Great record, awesome, catchy choruses, some truly warped riffs, and "Make It Wit Chu". Best song of 2007.
That was my first choice as well. Spectacular record that grows and grows on you the mosre you listen and most of the songs are plain awesome (for some rerason, the last 2 songs never clicked with me) Make it wit Chu is indeed awesome, though m favorite has got to be I'm Designer. As for m3h... (I'm going to cover every album I listened to that was released this year) 2007 was a pretty sucky *** year for a lot of otherwise great bands (and continuously sucky bands). Type O Negative's new album is **** caked in cum. The new Dream Theater album was pure lamenes. The new Linkin Park album gags on balls. Static X contnued their string of bland releases since Machine. The new nine Inch Nails album was just as boring as the one before it. I lol that looking down the list, almost the entire Pantheon of ****** Bands has released albums this year. Oh my god. The new Avenged Sevenfold album RAPED MY EARS. I liked City of Evil, and the new album burned my ears. it was like something crawled into my ears and died. HORRID. the new Gorillaz B-sides (or, D-sides as it were) is majorely disappointing as well. I hope the next real release doesn't suck like that. Otherwise, I'm sure there were plenty of great albums that were released this year, I just didn't get to hear them. What I've heard of the new Swallow the Sun album was amazing, but I only heard 3 songs. I also saw some other stuff that probably kicks *** (Explosions, 65dos, etc...) and the new God is an Astronaught album was pretty cool. The only albums I've really gotten to hear extensively this year (other than QotSA) were Elect the Dead, which is okay, the new Coheed album, which is pretty good, and The Dethalbum, which isn't bad. There was also Shiraishi Minoru no Otoko no Lullaby. the most manly album of all time. Koi no Minoru Densetsu is the most brilliant power-metal opus ever conceived >_> however, none of ya'll would likely be interested. And I guess that's really it. QuotSA was the only spectacular album I managed to hear that was released this year. There's prolly a lot of stuff I need to get around to. Also, for '08 BEDLAM in GOLIATH I've got such a hard-on for this album  The Opeth album I spent all year looking forward to >_
 5. Copied from a post about pacing, which is why I talk about it so much, but I think it was important. BTW, Yurie may be my new favorite character evar. I just finished Kamichu which, in my opinion, had about perfect pacing. The show is a very quiet, slow-paced affair, and yet it manages to hold my attention thorouhgly throughout. Unlike many shows in it?s vein, it manages to be slow but still interesting, and when it picks up, it is thoroughly dramatic and piques your involvement. Whether the episode is about an national emergency involving martians, a romantic confession of love, or just about Yurie being sick and staying in, it never gets boring. Even more interesting is that the episodes always felt a lot longer than they really were (the same effect that most slice-of-life shows seem to have) but were crammed with memorable moments (this is one of the very very few shows where I could probably recall what happened in each episode by number after one go-through.) It was also the perfect length, not too short to be memorable nor too long to remain interesting. At 16 episodes, it?s just perfect.
 6. A girl in her early teens, too, if I'm not mistaken XD *would totally be harmed for her sexual pleasure XD* lol, how come I never get praised for being frank? That's like the only damn thing I'm good at but when I do it I get yelled at T_T XD. But after I gave it more thought, I realized that Konata is talking about real people while I was busy being creeped out by guro. *feels on a much lower level* Though now I can't help but be curious as to what stuff is actually available in that regard (as if the **** I look at now weren't enough to get my in trouble already >_>
 7.
Fixed.
I knew that was coming. In regards to Konata and 13th's discussion of t3h gore,

(although all [u]that I've seen[/u'] looks horrible fake),

Might be THE scariest thign I've read in a while O_o I do have a fascination with death and such myself (not so much with cannibalism, the most gruesome of ways to kill someone...) but i am horribly squeamish. I used to feel ready to throw up every time i saw guro, tough ever since a certain seppuku gif I've warmed up to it a little, especially after reading one really weird comic. however, mostly it just scares the ****ing **** out of me. and I can't sleep for a while. Konata, I gotta say, if you weren't a girl i'd say you have serious balls.
 8. Part One: I'm Giving My Best Bluff! "Here we go to save the world," two boys, brother and brother, into New Mexico. A night before, one boy was running around town while the other, myself, was in bed. With a woman. She moaned and flinched like she'd never done it before - maybe she hadn't? I was a bit of a bastard for show. The front door swung open and I heard footsteps going through the house. She froze. "Don't worry, it's just my brother, he won't come in here," I assured her, and she was pleased as we kept on going. However, the footsteps marched straight up to my door. I stopped again, leaving her to heavy breathing. "What is it?" Suddenly I heard a strange metallic noise like someone moving the components on a device. There was a plasma charge- "Shit!" I wrapped my arms tightly around her torso and flung us both off of the bed. A burst of green light smashed through the door and pulverized it's way clear through the adjacent wall. The girl was freaking out, so I quickly pinched her unconscious. This couldn't end well at all. I heard the heavy footsteps making their way into the room. I could see the boots of the assailant looking under the bed. Thinking quickly, I rolled under. As he continued to move across the room, I continued to move along the ground until he had crossed the room and was presumably looking down at the girl. In an instant I did a barrel roll, sprang up, and grabbed the shotgun on my desk, pivoting decisively and pulling the trigger without hesitation. I didn't get the opportunity to see what my assailant looked like, since my Benelli had turned him into a large bloodstain. It couldn't have been human - it's entire body had exploded. Minutes later I'd dressed myself in the usual black - leather pants and jacket - and I'd laid her on the couch wrapped in a blanket. i tied my hair back. I had to wait for my brother to get back to warm him about what happened. He'd know what it meant - that it was time for us to go into New Mexico. But what the hell was he doing?!
 9. I don't like 10,000 Days. It's just not a great album. The music isn't bad, technically, it just isn't good to listen to. i only ever listen to it by forcing myself. Lateralus is fantastic, Aenima is great, and Undertow isn't bad, but 10000 Days is totally meh. Fair to Midland - heard one song, it sucked hard. A Perfect Circle sucks too, haven't givven Puscifier a chance yet but I don't really care to. Mostly, I've been listening to all tha bands who are connected to A Sound of Animals fighting since they are all quite awesome.
 10. EDIT: I'm aware no one here watched Simoun, but... So, watched the first Simoun DVD. OH. MY. ****ING. GOD. I had forgotten just how absolutely AMAZING Simoun is *nosebleed* can you believe I watched this **** the first time on Crunchyroll?! I'm watching it on DVD going 'ZOMG Backgrounds!!! ZOMG music!!! ZOMG sound effects!!!" It's like a whole new experience, and what's more, when you know what you're getting into the first episode has a LOT more impact. I also had totally forgotten the scene that made me a fan in the first place when
Aer madly hacks that dead guy's fingers off
. Even on the second go, even afer only 6 episodes this show is so very powerful. Amazing cast, amazing visuals - the first time I watched this I could never tell WTF was going on and now I'm freaking out about how downright gorgeous everything is! Rimone and dominura are still awesome, Parietta is still great, Aer is still one of my favorite characters ever... and I'm loving this even more the second time around. My yuri loving is finally getting satiated! I could never commend this show enough - I can't wait for the other DVDs. And by the way I LOVED the extras. The seiyuu were all so awesome! Mamiina's seiyuu is adorable!!!
 11.
Listen man I'm not trying start any trouble I'm just expressing my opinion, that's why people go to forums is to express their opinions about a subject whether it's positive or negative. And I'm not saying that a band that is apart of the metal genre strictly plays metal music I'm saying I like it when bands like Opeth and Meshuggah play metal with jazz influences it just seems to me that all the real good bands are mostly underground and that there is only a handful of good mainstream bands. So like I said before I'm not trying to start any trouble, and sorry if I got anyone worked up over what I said.My apologies.
Your opinions just don't seem to have decent foundation. At least not if you'd read the rest of the thread. Not to disrepect you. I mean our favorites lists are very similar XD
 12. Phobia - I'm afraid of needles and bugs and WAY too lazy to find the word for them. Needles I don't have to deal with often ayway. however, if I see a cocroach I will recluse for the rest of the day. Find a safe bed across the house and stay there for hours, depending on the size of the cockroach and whether or not I saw anyone kill it. There have been time where if I see 2 on the same day or on consecutive days I really freak out. Phillia - >_> I don't want to go to jail.
 13. Yeah, I'm not really planning to go back for Excel Saga. I've heard too much debate about it to care. w00t! To match that awesome but cheap DVD call the other day, I got an awesome manga/ln haul today! Went out to buy a mangea and wouldn't you know it Gunslinger Girl 6 was there!!! I didn't even know it was out!!! Hayate five was out too, but I only had 20 bucks and I REALLY wanted to get NHK novel. I read the little beginning part and the translation already seemed astounding, so I just can't wait to read it! Awesome haul!
 14.
Screamo Metal sounds like it would be awesome. XD Oddly enough, that seems to be kind of the direction that Circle Takes the Square is taking with their new record. There's a new song on youtube that sounds like it's half hardcore and half Isis.
That one was by far my favorite, though, so I've got high hopes for the new genre XD
 15.
This post is as hilarious as it is depressing. Actually, I really hope this was just a bad joke.
I'm honestly thinking anyone entering this thread should have to back-read the whole thing. We probably covered everything (multiple times XD)
 16. WARNING: tsince this thread has no rating, I thought I should warn about the graphic imagery below. If you are squeamish, just don't read. Villain Name: Wolf Hacker Age: ??? Appearance: Imagine Claudio Sancez with rectangle glasses and a face that contorts into a freaish grin/tooth grind with his head lifted. He wears a camoflaugue outfi with helmet that acts like a chameleon toward it's surroundings. Personality: Wolf is a calculating killer - he does things very methodically and contemplates his actions pver and over as he performs them. He is often talkative and has a stern voice. He justifies his actions though twisted logic, and explains how and why he is going to kill someone before he does it. Wolf loves to be covered in the blood of his victims. He is a rapist-murderer who uses a pair of scissors to cut into the veins of his victims and cover himself in their blood. The corpses he leaves are found with incisions made along the sensitive parts of their arms and inner thighs, as well as their nipples cut off. When he is done with a victim, he slices their jugular.
 17.
And Premonition, I'm sure you can find Agalloch at FYE. They sell Agalloch albums at Best Buy, so they aren't that hard to find, man.
I don't know what kind of crazy Best Buy you go to. They didn't have it at Best Buy or Planet Music (Fye) when I went. I had to get The Mantle and Ashes Against the Grain at an underground record store, and I got Pale Folklore on Amazon. (cost me a clean 30 cuz I accidentally did overnight shipping, but it was worth it!!!)
 18. All the artwork you've done for this is really weird XD Anyway, rather than only our own characters, we should also conceptualize some of the awesome psychopaths we will run into. Lucky you, I recently started keeping a record of my Ultimate Character Archive so I could definitely use that to help with concept (though I've yet to get to any good psychos in my archive) As for our main characters, prem, don't forget to give your guy the same last name as mine! Also, since we'll be writing this in novellic style, I'm leaving the appearance part out because I'd rather just cover it when he first comes into the story. As for my MC... Name: Kalas Trigger Age: 20 Gender: Male Personality: Kalas is brave and headstrong, ready to face whatever challenges await. He pushes forward constantly with full determination. However, he is very physically weak despite his attitude. Because of his actions, though, he has a way of making himself appear a lot stronger than he really is. That's all for now~
 19. Copied from blog, because it's full of emotion! So, I went and watched he first ep of YamiBou. As I expected, the people who liked it did so for the wong reasons, as well as those who hate it. Some said the story was confusing. This is entirely untrue. What it is is boring, stupid, poorly written, ***-reeking trite that I wouldn?t suggest to a Narutard. I spent the entire episode oing ?please, dear god, let this end up getting good? but no, it didn?t. I hate the characters, the show is boring, the plot is crap, and the whole thing can go burn along with the shattered image of the yuri community. Between this and KnM I could light my skull on fire and have a lot more fun. Oh, and that ****ing camera is the most annoying **** I?ve ever seen, and to those who loved the character designs so much, I hated them and I hated the fact that every ***** in the joint had excessively huge but poorly shaped breasts. I?ve got a mind to rewatch MariMite and cry in ashemedness. Also, yesterday I got 2 cheap but AWESOME DVDS. Simoun volume one as well as Jing in Seventh Heaven OVA. I couldn't be happier - can't wait to watch both!!!
 20. The fact that I know there is nothing to fear, and that I can do anything. I also like being reminded that there are people who care about my opinion and what I do.
 21. So, I just picked up the Portugal. The Man album It's Complicated Being a Wizard (it was only 5 bucks) which is deffinitely one of the more obscure albums I've handled. As I expected, it's like a mix of the Gorillaz and TV on the Radio with an added dose of 'what the ****' XD. I find it funny how it's NOTHING like the stuff on ther myspace, yet still similar in a way. In any event, what I've heard thus far is crazy awesome. Can never go wrong with a 23-minute song XD.
 22. Finally finding myself in the mood for a good lengthy series, but still too nervous about starting Juuni Kokuki, I decided to FINALLY start watching Kaleido Star, having only seen the first ep months ago. Seven episodes in, I'm loving it, as expected. Fool is just plain win. He deserves his own omake XD "You sould take a bath." it never gets old XD I also love his terot reading. Anywho, this show has it all, from the stirring drama (and some seiyuu really showing their teeth) of episode 5 (I almost cried!) and then instant fun comedy in the next ep, the show has a lot going on. Episode 7 is made of awesome in so many ways - namely the utterly brilliant performance at the end, but I just could not stop loving a certain little diabolo player  I so hope she comes back. Also, the scene where
she hugged and kissed Sora was just perfect. Even I blushed :animeblus XD

 23. I tend to like pretty much any electronica I hear - I don't really form any connection wth it, but it's always a good way to stimulate your background. There are some really great electronic bands out there, like Infected Mushrooms and such, but none that I'd buy an album of or anything. I don't like most of the dance stuff, though, as having heard a bunch of it while working at Spencers it made my brain melt.
 24.
Er, no, I'm talking about Roulette * Roulette. Kiiroi Vacances is also happy, fun, bright and bouncy but you won't find the line, "Rollcake Sunday, sandwich Monday," anywhere in it. Kiiroi Vacances also isn't nearly as catchy to me. And I mean a gif of Becky doing this dance, just to be clear: 98SE-tan is cute but I still like Becky more. I had a gif of it at one point but I lost it when my hard drive had to be wiped. Now I can't remember where I had found it. I've thought about making a gif of it myself but so far I've been lazy. If you do have it, I'll love you [strike]long time[/strike] if you send it to me.
@_@ But I could have sworn... oh goddamn this show's themes! And now I need to fix it on my favorites list, too. Stupid uber-cuteness! I liked Neko Mimi Mode more anyway!
 25.
The only thing I found entertaining in Evangelion was the scene with the
panties going everywhere
. Otherwise it was too dramatic and annoying to get in. DB, I've seen all of Lain and I do agree it is awesome. =3 I just love too many. I guess I will get Kaliedo Star next. It was extremely cheap at Suncoast. Lunox, can you tell me more about why you hate Loveless?
Ah, so you've seen them, just looking to buy. Well then I suggest buying ones you haven't seen yet. Though I still regret that I only ever got Lain on Signature Series, snxce those DVDs are ugly, though the series box is nothing to look at -_- I WARN YE. Kaleido Star has a lot of DVDs and they aren't always easy to find (I can only find goddamn New Wings) Anyway, if you didn't like Eva, why did you want the DVDs? :o
