I Forgot What You People Look Like (Image Heavy)
2010DigitalBoy replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in General Discussion
Dear sweet god, did I really start this thread? and 2 years ago? I look like such a kid in that first post, haha! I'm all cute and young... and less fat. Here's me after a recent shave (which already needs to happen again). My hair is longer than ever, but it's so wet in this pic it looks like short hair slicked back. Some people said I looked like mafia. I also took a pic today - if you can't tell, I'm trying to hide some huge zits. -
Mine would have to be the opening theme to the anime 'ef ~a tale of memories~' entitled 'Euphoric Field.' It's an okay song - nothing too special, but the lyrics, spirit, and message all reflect my beliefs, my place in life, and what I'm trying to do. Hence my naming my blog after it. It's sung in English, but good luck understanding it ^^;;

Legend of Duo is one of those 'so bad it's good' anime that any anime aficionado should watch. It's a cell phone anime with incredibly craptastic animation and a nonsensical story about vampires. however, it's got pretty boys and bl and the main character is a hilariously awesome Tomokazu Sugita performance. I laughed nonstop through all 12 eps.

Anime Voice Actor Thread of Loving Lovitude
2010DigitalBoy replied to Shinmaru's topic in Otaku Central
Seriously? No mention of Norio Wakamoto? For shame! Arguably the greatest voice actor ever! Wakamoto has been in everything, and he's pretty much the Christopher Walken of anime - shows nowaday shave roles written just for him and his insane voice. Wakamoto is most known for his deep, crazed, and drawn out vocals that no one else can quite perform. He has done some great emotional roles as well, most notably as the Coach from Gunbuster. Some of his most well-known roles are as Charles di Britannia in Code Geass, Cell in Dragon Ball Z, and the one that introduced me, the newspaper company vice-president in Baccano!. I'm also quite partial to Tomokazu Seki who plays Domon Kasshu in G Gundam and Anime Taichou in that itself and Lucky Star. There's a seiyuu joke in LS where Tomokazu Seki and Tomokazu Sugita are arguing over something. Seki's done a number of great voices, but Domon is most notable... after all, "BAAAKUNETSU! GODO FINGAAAA!!!" -
Currently, I am trying to perfect my favorites list through something called the epic journey that will take me about 5 years to complete. In the meantime, my favorite anime is as follows, and in accordance with the epic journey, it is the only one I am defining as a favorite. Extensive information as to why it is my favorite is given in the above link, but here's the abbreviated version. Eureka Seven - Of all the anime I’ve seen, this is the most well-constructed in every way, and no other show has made me care about everything in it so much. Every character is memorable, and Renton and Eureka are spectacular. Possibly the only show that I can’t say anything negative about. I never wanted it to end, though the ending was beautiful.

I've been doing hentai reviews lately on my blog being as I am more well-versed in the area than most. Indeed, there are plenty of great hentai out there (funny, I had seen next to none when this thread actually began.) Anyone whose seen Hatsu Inu can tell you it's as good as any other slightly-above-average romance anime. My current favorite hentai is Alighnment You! You! which is where this girl is killed before she can confess to this guy, and only when she's a ghost does sh find out he loved her too. She meets a poltergeist, who is a hilarious punk girl that helps her by killing the boyfriend (and everyone else in the classroom) and having a giant ghost sex orgy. Hilarity ensues. The show was a lot of fun (depending on your sense of humor) and the characters endearing.

So far, this season seems like a pretty powerful off-season to match up with an incredible full season. White Album has me quite excited just for it's directing. Style positively reverberates from it, and I love that, even if the plot is totally lost somewhere. I'm hoping this will make up for the failure that was ef melodies. Maria Holic has the greatest opening video ever made and otherwise has served to disappoint me so far. ShaftxShinbo is my favorite combo, but so far this show has just been pretty weak on the jokes. Hopefully the sheer trap-lesbianity of it all can save me. Asu no Yoichi is good fun. I think that's all I've watched, can't remember.

OMG I just saw a sub of the Lucky Star OVA by 'Dagger and Desbreko'! Was that you guys?! Awesome!!! Also, I'm watching everything this season, it's been the best all year by a longshot, since the only good thing since winter has been Kure-nai.

Oi, yeah, I forgot my password for my other account, so I have to look for it. Anyways, I'm just checking back on OB for a bit to see what Prem, Rach and Indiff was up to, as well as the rest of OB. And I can see Prem has changed his name... AGAIN! Dude honestly who the **** are you >_

What do you look for in a relationship?
2010DigitalBoy replied to Rachmaninoff's topic in General Discussion
Oi, relationships. I can't stand it when I have to call someone, I ****ing hate phones >_> So I like someone who won't call me, I mean, once is okay, but everyday is just bull, and annoying. As for looks, she has to look young. Plus, small tits, I mean really, what's the big deal about big ones? All they do is jiggle like bowls of ****ing jello, and that's just weird. Also big shirts and sweaters, my dream girl MUST wear big shirts and sweaters. It just makes them look so much cuter >_ -
Oi Prem, you and your music >_> Dude I dont' care what you say, FTM sucks balls. Your worse than those damned Narutards. Well at least you're listening to TMV, you're aren't completely hopeless. :animesigh Anyways right now I'm listening to Metatron by TMV, which is one of the only good songs Prem knows :p It's freaking psychodelic >_< And Panache dude, never let Prem get a hold of you with his music again.

That was awesome, you have a way of writing deaths that reminds me of Tarantino in how the deaths happen without dramatic warning. I'm glad Darren got a heroic death (and if that socially inept teenager was, in fact, me, then I'm honored to die in the same post as him), and now I am only wondering what the hell happened to my arms XD
I guess at the end of the day it's not a question of a slippery slope for me. No, I don't believe that an extra 10 pixels of height will lead to a dark future where all banners will be 1,000 pixels tall and 7 million pixels wide. I personally don't really care either way, but if anything I'd be inclined to keep things as they are for now. I think our upper limits for banners are large enough, frankly. If anything I'm more likely to add width to banners rather than height (given the nature of a forum layout, where height is probably more detrimental to people's ability to view posts clearly). I guess ultimately if I add ten pixels for one type of random image script...that's cool. But then someone will say "But my random image script needs another 20! You did it for that guy, why not me?!" I mean we're never going to please everyone. My suggestion is to either a) find a random image siggy that works with OB or b) use a different signature here than on your other forum. Easy solved, really. We've had plenty of people who have used these types of scripts before (i.e. with music libraries and stuff) without any issue. So I'm sure there are plenty out there that will be of the appropriate size. :catgirl:
Ah, I see where you're coming from, and I'm not arguing back, though I will say that it would defeat the point, as I personally would only be using the A-P signature because I, uh, love the site and am trying to spread the word about it (it's becoming even more of a home for me than OB, haha) but yeah, Im only one guy, and one generally disliked guy at that, lol. When it comes to increasing the banner size for this random occasion, I think it's more than obvious that anyone else who jumps out of the blue asking for it is going to be shot down anyway - OB is not a democracy, it is all pretty much in your hands, James, so what thou does't on a whim none may question, right? Just saying, don't feel bad about splurging a your leisure ~_^

Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?
2010DigitalBoy replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
I like Kamichu more than IchiMaro for a simple reason - Ichimaro is undoubtable cute and original, but no matter how you look at it it's still just average Japanese girls hanging out and doing whatever. Kamichu is just so unique and out there, the way it uses the Shinto beliefs and even just the setting of a port town in the 80s give it a feel that doesn't exist in any other anime. Anywho... I'm four episodes into La Corda d'Oro. The lead character looks so much like Utena Tenjou that I have random Utena flashbacks all the time, haha. So far, it's pretty much your standard shoujo fair and, oddly enough, your standard dating sim adaption fare, but the intriguing directing style and great music give it an edge. and finally, So, umm... why was I never informed that Loveless was so amazing? I really need to stop thinking that shows are going to suck just because of their fanbases >_< Two episodes in, Loveless is just absolutely incredible. The visual style, the characters, the raw emotion. Every ounce of the show has a tragic, depressing tone, as well. So far, I enjoy the characters, however I am under the impression that all of them are bat **** ****ing insane. Yuiko better have one seriousl ****** up past, because the way she acts is so off-the-wall it borders on rediculous. -
Mikael Ã…kerfeldt-Opeth: Both his harsh vocals and his clean vocals are amazing. His harsh has a certain musical quality to it that is rare among extreme metal vocalists. John Haughm-Agalloch: The guy's whispering rasp also carries a strange musical quality that I find addictive. Ronnie James Dio- Dio, Black Sabbath, Rainbow: If heaven split open and God sang a song, it would sound very much like this man's voice. -Justin
Oh man, that practically sums it up. Epic win, man. I want to throw in a couple personal faves - Cedric Bixler-Zavala from The Mars Volta for being able to make music out of his voice. Claudio Sanchez though only really on everything before good Apollo, because on there it sounds like he's trying too hard. There are a lot more worht mentioning, but that covers the best.
You forget the compounding factor. Ten, and ten more, and ten more....... It rounds easily up to large numbers. Plus, again, we just increased the dimensions a short while ago, so I doubt another one will come this quickly. And yes, I get what you're talking about, but that just seems too much distracting, unnecessary information. Yes, granted, it's constantly updating, but still. I like looking at the artistic talents more than a noisy statbox. (Not to mention a statbox which I feel serves no purpose.)
I couldn't disagree more, I think my A-P sig is the best sig I could have ever asked for. It's helpful for offering people recommendations and besides just plain fun to have in your sig. And artisticallity is still there because of your sig image - for instance mine has a pic from my favorite anime next to a list of my top 5. That's pretty much the summary of my whole existence. And man, I can't believe I'm still hearring crap about that sig I used! It was a quote from a video that made me laugh nonstop for 5 minutes, I just thought others would find it funny!
-
Sure you can, if you can't access the signature directly, it's call, print screen, open it up in something like photoshop and edit/trim the size. Turn around and rehost elsewhere and insert it into your signature here. And yes, adding more would run the simplicity that this site offers. We like having posts where the text/conversation part is bigger than the signatures. ;)
Actually, I've found a lot of the sigs lately to be hideously big, in fact, I always thought yours was one of the perpetrators, rach, no offense. Having a full size banner and text and a quote and a little other notation - at that point the thing tends to be huge. And let's not even talk about some other ones (Allamorph and Vicky come to mind) haha. I try to keep mine as small as possible, not exceeding 5-6 lines of text when I don't use a banner, and when I use a banner I restrict it to 2-3 lines of text. I think if eveyone can work in moderation like that, it won't be a problem to increase banner size a little.
And DigiBoy, you just earned five cool points for saying that line about downloading music. Respect there, brethren.
Oh no, I download music plenty of times. I avoid popular stuff and try to only DL stuf I can't find, but yeah, I even had a few songs froom the album when they were leaked way back. I just want to wait because this is a special release. I want the dramatic epicness of it.

New Members: Introduce Yourselves Here
2010DigitalBoy replied to Charles's topic in General Discussion
I suck at introductions! Hi, I'm sothis :p someone pointed out a thread to me here so I wandered on over, and decided to sign up and post and such too. Let's see... well, I like anime (duh), love console RPGs, cooking, and coding. I run Anime-Planet, and that takes up the majority of my free time - the rest is usually taken up with a combination of games or TV/movies from blockbuster (currently watching the Sopranos, which I hadn't seen till now). Top 5 anime include Gungrave, FMA, and Armitage. I'm big into sci fi and intelligent stuff, and good horror (RARE) - not so much shoujo, ecchi, or old school mecha. Hajimemashite!
O_O it's like a celebrity coming to your hometown. *feels honored by your presence* -
Just for the record, I have nothing againstdating, Hell, I look forward to it. Just, you know, it's me and all, haha.
-
lol, I thought of making this exact same request because I work for anime-planet, and since there''s probably little chance I can get them to reduce the size of their sigs, it would be nicce if OB did the increasing however, I doubt they'll go about doing it just for this lol.
-
I've never been on a date. I've never even hung out with a female friend outside of school before T_T well, I went to a girl's house to study once, not that that counts >_
-
I want you to kill Aaryanna_mom. The setting should involve high fantasy and Aaryanna being forced into a situation in which she has to kill her own mother. It should be laid thick with tragic dialogue and melodrama.

Talents, and Other Strange Things
2010DigitalBoy replied to Aberinkula's topic in General Discussion
My only talent is to find at least one thing that can shock someone when I say it. People tell me that they can't be shocked, but I've never been up against anyone who I couldn't shock. This doesn't work on the internet, though. -
Ah, James' death was every bit as exquisite as I would've imagined - excellent work, Raiha. If I decide I'd like to see any other OBer's dead, I'll be sure to come to you first, lol. I fid it interesting that there are a lot of stories where a detective will have a client who is actually backstabbiing them, or even ones where they are attacked in their own office, but yours is the first story I've seen where the detective was killed there, haha. And his cat too! Poor lil bastard.
