Hmm. I think I may need to spend some time in Nathan's head, to see how he feels about Lucia. Hooray for multiple Panopticon cameos. :p
Even though the Panopticon cameos were already Lunar cameos ^^;; Really, yall are always so thirsty for blood XD it's mldly disturbing. Anywho, edited the first post again with links to everyones charactres. This way, absolutely everything there is to this game is in he first post. Should make it very portable, which will be helpful for me in the future I'm sure. -

Discuss Shinigami Dance: Playground of Deities

The way I figure, the shinigami uses the scythe to seperate the soul from the body, and then they help the soul move onto the next world however they see fit. In the case of a vampire, a shinigami can kill them, but they never die anyway, so there'd be no reason for a shinigami to go after them. Since a vampire can physically interact with a shinigami, I imagine that a shinigami could kill a vampire using their scythe to actually murder them. Wether the shinigami is willing to or not, though, ought to be it's own conflict... EDIT: As for the faction chart, rather than do an image I'm just going to write it out. I don't want to switch to the PC all the way across the house >_> -
Ouch... You're right... I ate what the troll offered. XP But that doesn't make the thought of "gay rehabilitation" any less repulsive and despicable to me. I mean, one can disagree on things, but no one has the right to force people to change their thinking.
I believe the exression is 'you fed the troll' :p Anyway, anyone with sense would fnd that detestable, which only supports m idea that he's lying his *** off for kicks. Come on, how dumb do you have to be to talk like that on a forum like this? He's been here long enough to know what ou memberbase is like, and he knows how to get you riled up. He's just sayng ****. Also, Prem, you are officially the best Christian ever XD EDIT: what indiff said >_>

Wait, are we taking the alchemist seriously? I would never believe anything that comes out of that guy's mouth. I doubt a real god's man would even be here surounding himself by liberal freaks and gay rights activists. Sorry, there's just no way I can take this seriously.
So after a few bloody tissues, and a few sessions of crying, I'm ready to post in the main thread. Sorry for the wait. And DB, the faction chart sounds like something you should integrete into the first post.
I integrate everything into the first post :p. Anyway, now you've forced my hand and I gotta do it... -
Not at all, I thought it was fun actually. Heh. Anyway, I probably would have done the piece thing before DB, but I left it till the end of my posts and forgot to go back and add it. So this time I put it in from the very beginning. Along with a tiny skirmish with the vampires. I figure there definately has to be more than just the three in your post.
yes, of course there will be many of them doing stuff, and I'm sure not all of them work for the count. ...*tempted to create a faction chart* -
Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?
2010DigitalBoy replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
I heard that Shana sucked, so I never looked it up, but I also heard it was just like Zero no Tsukaima, which is pretty good, so I'm not sure. Anywho, yesterday I blew the rest of my birhday money and walked away with... Air TV vol. 1 - though ADV obviously had no intent to do more than simply release the show, it's worth buying simply because... well... it's ----in Air. Anywho, I wrote a DVD review of this or the news, so look for it next month. Ganktsuou vol. 1 + artbox - Absolutely amazing series which I'm completely hooked on. This is possibly my favorite artstyle ever, it blows me away. Between the Count and Peppo are some of the best characters I've seen in a while, and I simply can't wait to afford volume 2. Also, as usual, Geneon does an impressive job of providing intriguing extras. Gunslinger Girl vol. 2 - I still don't enjoy it quite as much as the manga, but it's interesting seeing some of the stories in a new light. I absoluely loved episode 9, which was all new material, even if I already figured out what plot-twist awaits. I gotta say, though, the suspenseful end of the episode is maddening. Texhnolyze vol. 1 - haven't watched yet, but I'm convinced that anything ABe must be good! Manga: Petite Cossette vol. 1 - I'm 2 chapters in and it's so trippy that it's often confusing, but still undeniably cool and twisted. Oddly enough, I saw a preview of the anime on the Gankutsuou extras which may have convinced me that I'll need both versions of the story. Hayate the Combat Butler vol. 4 - YAY!!!!! -

Oi. Just to give a general idea of who youre fighting against, and the kind of situation my character's in. As you can see, the Count uses servents for menial tasks, but likes to get his hands dirty with the action. :catgirl: Oh, and he totally looks like the Count of Monte Cristo as represented in Gankutsuou. -
Letter 2: Bug Eyes Aeru was crying. The place she was seemed to be a void of dark, grainy brown. All around was the same color, and she seemed to be merely floating in a space that was probably not much larger than her body. She wasn't restrained at all, but without Joe to talk to or anywhere to go, she found herself bored to torment. She tried to fly or teleport away, but nothing worked. It wasn't that which was painful so much as the fear of what was to come. Having lived for many decades, Aeru had known her share of time doing nothing, but never had she experienced something like this. The idea that a human could lay hands on her seemed ridiculous, but it was obviously true. What's gonna happen to me? She wondered. Joe... where are you... *** "Ah... well, if it isn't Hikaru and Tsubasa!" The room was backer than night. The deep, charismatic voice of the Count bounded throughout in a manner which made him feel all-encompassing. For any normal human, this room was a void with a voice. To the young twin vampires, though, it was an extravagantly decorated bedroom. The bed was enormous and draped with the finest of curtains and furnished with the most expensive blankets and pillows. "Counto-sama, " The girl who spoke looked to be 10 or so years-old with shoulder-length hair tucked behind her ears. Her fangs peeked over her bottom lip and her skin was dark blue. Both she and her identical twin sister wore extravagant black dresses. They held hands constantly. "Good work. Our game has begun well and will continue to run smoothly. I only hope some of the other shinigami figure out the clues as quickly as possible." A devilish grin spread wide across the Count's beautiful face. "I wish to do battle very soon." "Counto-sama, " "I am fine, you may be excused, my darlings." With a bow, the twins exited the room to their own devices.

When someone thinks about the shows they like, they don't always have to think of their absolute favorites. After all, there's a whole range of feelings toward a show beyond 'love' or 'hate'. Rather than place focus on the 9s and 10s like happens so often, I wanna concentrate more on the 7s and 8s. Basically, instead of talking about your absolute favorite anime of all time, I'd also like to hear about some that you really liked, just not to the same extent. My reason for this topic is that when I think of typing a post for my favorite anime, I want to trot in with a mile-long list of anime I love, but in the end, not all of those are equal. I know that my three favorite anime of all time (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Welcome to the NHK, and the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) deserve credit, but I still have to credit all those other great, deserving shows. So, here are some of the shows that I love, but not in that way XD 1. Simoun - Not just for the yuri! This show is an excellent portrayal of a completely unique universe and a deep, character driven story being played together. The two biggest reasons I dislike sci-fi and fantasy stories is that they tend to focus on the expansive universe while leaving shallow characters about, and all to often they are overly similar. While it's themes are familiar, I've really never seen anything quite like Simoun in terms of setting. It's got a very steam-punk feel with the fact that it appears to be low-tech and high-tech at once, but the machines and their secrets as well as the way they are operated sets it apart. Rather than fight with guns, the Simoun draw giant figures in the sky that cause different kinds of attacks or shields. Plus the story combines religious and political elements in as well, which is not uncommon, but done particularly well in the sense that in most of these stories it's got that whole 'everyone is evil but the party' feel while this one is more wide-scale. The best part, though, is of course the character relations, and this show's got a big cast to show off. Really, it's amazing how much they accomplish in just 26 episodes, and the relationships have the sort of realistic complications that you don't see too much - the characters feel very human. It's also very maure. Oh. and did I mention the yuri? >_> Will edit/post again. I didn't expect to go on about Simoun like that, lol. Also, there is no number restriction, post about as many as you want. I'm also hoping to learn from this.

Anime Even I'd Like Some Reccommendations!
2010DigitalBoy replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
Since I doubt I'll have time to watch Petite Cossette between the bazillion anime purchases I would be talking about if my thread were bumbed and the other couple anime I'm watching online, so I ent for the manga volume 1. I only read the first chapter so far and I gotta say, it is a trip and a freakin half O_o Oh, and since I found it cheap, I went for Texhnolyze v. 1 too but haven't watched it yet. -
No, it is not possible, the article and reviews section of theOtaku was retired well over a year ago and to the best of my knowledge there are no plans to revive it. However, you can always write some up for the Otaku Times since it does have a reviews section that is just waiting on a member to write one. ;)
oi. I had thought those reviews were being taken from theO or whatever.

Listened to it for 40 seconds and got bored :p Just not my cup o' tea I guess. Currently listening to A Meeting Place And Time by Woods of Ypres on their website, found here. I had forgotten all about this band, which is a damn shame cuz they're a damn great band. Similarities to Agalloch abound, which is great cuz as you know, I'm freaking huge Agalloch fan. If you can't tolerate screaming, A Meeting Place and Time is where you should start since the other 3 songs on there have it. Wonderful, wonderful, emotionally moving piece.
I would imagine that the one who does is you DB. After all I already know I don't listen to metal bands. lol As for the piece or fragment thing. To be honest, that sort of confuses me a bit so I concentrate on the post instead. XP
Death Whispered a Lullaby is about as far from metal as a song can get, lol. It's like... progressive folk sounding or something. Honestly, just go listen to it :p youtube prolly has it. In fact, here's a link to it live. You'll prolly like it. http://youtube.com/watch?v=GNbaGJRt25s Anywho, my charaacter won't benefit from knowing the song, since she's, y'know, kidnapped >_> -

lulz no one likes doing the 'piece' or 'fragment' thing do they? Oh well, better to have more in each one. Figure I'll drop a post to see how the vamps are orginaized and how Aeru is right now. After all, I seem to have a bad habit of kidnapping my own characters and forgetting they exist XD Also, ya'll are all doin fine n fun. I wonder which Shinigami is the one who happens to listen to Opeth XD -
As far as appearance goes - I likes em short. I'm a sucker for soft skin and milky skin tones. I like a girl with a round face and a thin body. Tiny = gewd. Hair may be short or long, depending on style and color. I ike a girl who dresses cute and has a lot of style. If you can accessorize well, you earn mo' cute points. Personality-wise, it's tough. I think the time I'm most attracted to is the shy type who's really clingy and dependant, but I think that would be the worst type for me, because I am[/] clingy and dependant, not to mention I am not dependable. So when it comes to the kind of person I want to be with, I want someone who can take care of me. Someone who's more stable than myself and mature who I can be there to support from the side. Ah, but who am I kidding. I've got no chance in hell!

yo. Is it possible for anyone to submit reviews of dvds/manga to theOtaku? If so, how do I do it?
-
I've only ever listened to one podcast, though it was the most recent and I intend to follow it from there. It's the Mistakes of Youth podcast for the webcomic/blog Mistakes of Youth run by the legendary Wildarmsheero. It's long and boring and I doubt many would like it XD
-
The English voices suck. But then again, I could just be biased because it's Naruto. Naruto himself is actually one of the less annoying characters, IMO. Kakashi has a pretty godawful voice. The worst, most forced boredom ever. Sasuke sounds like a punk --- -----. I want to slap him every time I hear him speak. As far as English dubs go, it's not absolutely horrible, but it's not spectacular. Just average.

Oi. Just bought the album Catch Without Arms by dredg and currently on the 4th track, not that simple. I wasn't expecting much from this outing, because it's their most mainstream work and what I've heard from it was only okay. I bought it, though, cuz it was only 6 bucks and I'm a total cheapskate. Plus, it's always nice to have the whole collection. It's not that bad of an album, really. Just as if not more mellow than El Cielo but so much less creative that it hurts. This particular song is epically boring.
-
Currently listening to Odoru Akachan Ningen, the ending theme for Welcome to the NHK. The full-length is probably the greatest anime song ever XD It's spastic, the singing is perfect, the lyrics are insane, but best of all the throbbing guitars and winding piano create the ultimate feeling of absolute madness. The song is awesome, hilarious, and worthy of rockin' out to! Plus the solo's frickin sweet.
*laughs* That's a new one: pocket Rachmaninoff. Heh. Also, you heard him SunfallE... Though I'm thinking I should hang on to you. :p And Allamorph, you my friend are way to literal. *pokes* [hey if SunfallE can poke and miss I figure I can too. XP] Also, why is the underground thread stupid DB? [is confused]
The key word there was 'non-bleeping'. Becoming popular on theOtaku. (I need some advice)
2010DigitalBoy replied to Catgirl08's topic in General Discussion
Simple answer for ya: you start talkin' to other people, they'll most likely start talkin' back ? assuming we're steering clear of the cutesy intornetz slang thingummy that pretty much just gets on people's nerves. :p (E.g.: comments like "OMG ur so AWESOME and ur site totily RAWKS!!!11", if you'll pardon my facetiousness, are basically instantly translated as "Ignore me, please-and-thank- you.") 'Course, if you follow that logic, you may very well end up as that person that everybody just sighs and says "not him again" when he shows his face ... er, screenname. (And no, DB, I'm actually talking about myself here.)
What the hell?! This is only the first time I've even looked at this thread, lol. Anyway, when I see 'Allamorph' I usually squeal like a fangirl and coming running XD Oh, as for the popularity thing, I've never understood how to talk to people on theO. I ought to figure it out sometime.
