Discuss Shinigami Dance: Playground of Deities
I wouldn't, feel stupid that is, I think it's very creatively done. ;) In other words whoever is in charge is being cautious so that the Shinigami are working independently instead of in a herd. So you could say that they are always like that, telling no more than is needed. That and I chuckled at indifference's post. Heh. Besides... I thought you did that on purpose. So if you're stupid, so am I. XP
I wish I had my own pocket-Rachmaninoff. You realize you are the most uplifting person on earth? ----, if it weren't for you, this rp wouldn't even exist ^_^ *looks at SunfallE* You better hold onto this one dammit! Yeah, that was my first excuse, but Allamorph wouldn't take it! Meanie! *hides behind Rach* EDIT: Stupid non-bleeping underground thread! -
Anime What are You Watching/Reading Now?
2010DigitalBoy replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
Copypaste.... Oi. Just got done with the (long as ----) first episode of Figure 17 (does the title mean anything?) and I'm pretty intereted. I am reminded a little of Lain with the personality of the main character, the way the show is very quiet and has an almost absolute focus on the main character, shows a lot of her walking around, and of course now she has her own alter-self not unlike Lain. Of course, I'm doubting this show goes in the same direction. I was pleasantly surprised by the 3/3 of the episode. While I was enjoying it just fine throughout, the whole huge fight scene took me by surprise, but was highly welcome. I really feel for the main character girl (forgive me for my horrible name-remembering skills). I've moved a great many times in my life, but usually managed to make friends. When I switched schools in third grade (and stayed there through the 1st half of 4th) I had the same situation where I made no friends and everyone picked on me. I can only imagine it's worse for her having only her crappy dad for family, whereas I had my brother and my mom as well. Seeing as how I attempted suicide in third grade, I figure it's a miracle this girl is even alive (though I suppose 3 months hasn't been long enough to really sink in). EDIT: I'm glad to see that episode 2 picked up the pace a lot, and even though it still feels like watching 2 epiodes at once, this one didn't feel as long. Hikaru-chan is adorably awesome, though I might've had to smack her were she to rape my air like that, lol. I'm guessing that the system of 30min slice of life, 15 min action will continue, though with only 4 beasts and 11 episodes to go, I'm guessing a plot twist will be thrown into the midst somewhere alon the line. Overall, though, I'm enjoying the series, and for some reason I find myself doing the overbite thing that the girls do, lol. -
I went on the same stance Allamorph did, that just as the letter was written, the name of the missing person and those we are to work with was not given. Something that Adrian finds funny in a way. Also, I left it up in the air for anyone to be the Shinigami that he is heading towards, since his logic is to simply check in with those who are working in the same area to see who is not around like they should be. If no one takes the position of being the one that Adrian is heading towards I'll simply write it as if he saw who it was and left instead of making contact. :p
:animesigh least it makes for good storytelling... but way to make me feel stupid, lol. Even the pixie is laughing at me! Still, though, I can't wait to see how this goes. Imagining a fight between a vampire and a shinigami just looks badass. -
1. Ping Pong 2. "Gothic Sports" (I have no idea if the series has anything to do with this XD) 3. Akagi 4. Grappling (Is that a sport?) 5. Horse Racing 6. Knife Fight (okay, now I'm just being an *** XD)
Well yeah, but the point is that IC we don't know who else got the letter we got. The writers know who's who, but the characters don't, see what I'm sayin'? And you know I'm just being persnickety.
:p they know cuz of magic! Anyway, maybe the organization wants to keep the others a secret so that each agent will work out ther own solutions beforehand. Groupwork ain't always reliable. -

Oi, I'm halfway through Haibane Renmei and just trying to find the next DVD (will prolly have to buy online). Amazing series - like I said, I'm an ABe fanboy. I think I've heard of Eden's Bowy, but lol at Soul Hunter... show I file under 'awesomely bad' (or at least the dub, which apparently is an entirely diferent story?) -
I love how the notice failed to include a list of the recipient's teammates. :animesmil Anybody else wanna toss a list in there, that's fine; I'm gonna be rollin' from the info-less angle, since I'm already gettin' a visual and I'd rather not stop it, know-whatta-mean?. Nathan may or may not have had previous vampiric experiences. I'll find out later.
? I'm just assuming all of you got the letters, and no one else. That's the point of introducing you, anyway. -
Yeah, same director. Geass would be great on AS--I sure hope so. (Actually, thanks for the reminder... I'd totally forgotten that Bandai had said it would be on TV one way or the other.) Also, you should watch Black Lagoon, because these ladies will come kick your butt if you don't. ~Dagger~
Wasn't Black Lagoon, like, guaranteed to be on AS? Anyway, I'm gunna check out Figure 17 first. I didn't expect so many recs so quick ^^;; -
As long as we don't start with Chuck Norris. 'Cause we already know he can divide by zero and he counted to infinity twice.
But did you know he lost his virginity before his father did?! ...I'm done.

Currently listening to Beneath the Earth by Pearls and Brass. Really, I'm not in the mood for it, so I don't know why it's on. This is easily one of my favorite albums of all time, but I can almost never find a good time to listen to it. Sounds so much different from all my other stuff that it's always a surprise. I find that it's always a good listen when you're writing, though. I'm so proud of liking this band, lol. It's one of the few bands that I discovered completely on my own and have actually introduced a couple other (here on OB!) people to. The Indian Tower is a collection must for blues/stoner rock fans.

I've actually looked up Cossette in the past (recognized the wiki image) and Shinbo always is promising, so i may have to watch that. Red Garden has the single worst character designs I've ever seen, period. Code Geass I swear will be on Adult Swim by next year, hehe. Anyway, my little brother absolutely loves S-Cry-Ed so I'm sure I can get him to look into it. (same director, right?) -

Well, I've seen Perfect Blue and didn't like it at all. It could be because I was younger when I saw it and scared out of my freaking mind, but I can remember it pretty vividly and I don't remember anything I'd like even by my current standards. Just seemed like a really pointless movie. Cat Soup looked cool in AMV Hell with that Linkin Park song playing over it, but I've always thought 'what if it's the linkin park song that made it cool?' XD Also, I looked up Figure 17 on Wikipedia and this image was there. Now, I'm pretty sure I'm getting my hopes up for nothing, but I might have to watch this show NOW. -

indiff: I've heard good things about that one, but I have a general distaste for war stories. Dagger: Figure 17: Will check this out. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha: I've heard both good things and bad things about this series to both extremes XD I know it's huge in Japan right now... This one is like 72 eps though O_o Texhnolyze: I saw the first episode of this way back and of course hated it because I was young then, lol. The only reason I never checked it out is because, unlike Lain or Haibane Renmei, I almost never hear anyone talk about this. I've always considered buying it just cuz I'm such an ABe fanboy. R.O.D the TV: I have seen the first 10 or so episodes, and I have the first DVD with intent to continue. Princess Tutu: ..... I had already escaped.... Kaleido Star: Ever since your avatar collection I've always wanted to see this and I know where I can watch it and I watched episode one and liked it so I have very, very few excuses for not checking this out ^^;; Once again, though, this show is long as hell! Gilgamesh: They have random DVDs of this at Blockbuster and I've always thought to check it out because of the interesting art, lol. (jeez, you have so little faith in me!) A lot of this I need to check out but I only wish you'd given me ones easier to find, since I only intend to watch subs ^^;; hyuuga: Will check them out except for Red Garden. HATE the art. EDIT: I have been reccommended to watch Neo Ranga elsewhere. Anyone have an opinion on this show? -
I'm not, I'm simply assuring you that I won't kill off to many since you said that we don't want to do that. ;) So I'm not asking for permission, merely telling you my intent. Heh. Besides it would be more fun to work with Aaryanna on a kill since we can weave it into what happens next, and I'm thinking of adding a bit of a battle with the characters using their abilities in there, just to liven things up.
I know, I just mean in general. Like, how no one thought they can kill the NPCs - you can do whatever you want. Well, except kill other characters, obviously XD

Thank you indiff! And of course, your character will be perfect for the mission begun in volume 2! Assuming you've already read it, yes, vampires! The ultimate opposition to death. Whereas humans always die at some point, vampires cheat death, and evidently, our higher-ups intend to do something about it this time. But as long as poor little Aeru is held hostage, they're stuck in a rut, so yall are the A-squad for the job! The hint might not be obvious, so i'll tell you what it means. All the centered and italicized parts of my post are lyrics to the song Death Whispered A Lullaby by Opeth (as well as the line 'sleep my child' repeated a lot in the song). Not only are these a fun literary technique, but they're actually a map to the next clue as to Aeru's location. The vampires like to toy around with shinigami, so be careful! A surprise attack could come around any corner! Also, be creative ~_^ -
:animesigh Remember, yall, you son't need to ask for my permission for anything in this rp at this point. I want you to be creative, long as you stay within the age limits. :animeswea

Volume Two: Death Whispered A Lullaby Piece One: Windowpane Out on the road there are fireflies circling Deep in the woods, where the lost souls hide Over the hill there are men returning Trying to find some peace of mind Aeru was shivering slightly as she wandered about the dark woods. These kinds of places always gave her the creeps. Joe was completely the opposite, taking a cynical approach to Aeru’s fear. “You realize that to the humans, you’re the scariest thing in existence…” Aeru ignored him as she continued to stroll about, trying to figure out where the victim lie. On one hand, she was scared, but she still wanted to find him as fast as possible, so as not to prolong any suffering he might have been tortured with. She couldn’t feel the wind herself, but she could tell it was deathly cold. “Ngh… guh…” There were faint sounds of pained gasps. Aeru followed them to the scene. There was a man against a tree with a hole in his chest going directly through his lung. The assaulter was only just strolling off, still within sight. She was lucky - it was only just moments ago. Still, there was a lot of blood from the wound as well as the man’s mouth. She decided to work quickly. She drew her scythe above her shoulder. With a solitary arc she brought her scythe across his neck. The man’s heart stopped. “……” Tears began to form in Aeru’s eyes. “If it’s any consolation, this man is a convicted felon. The crimes he’s committed are unspeakable. If anything, you’ve brought justice-” “No!” Aeru spoke boldly. “I am only doing my job.” *** Under the fog there are shadows moving Don't be afraid, hold my hand Into the dark there are eyelids closing Buried alive in the shifting sands A dense fog had filtered into the maze of trees. Aeru had become lost among the trees, but fear was no longer on her mind. There was a solemnity in her eyes that Joe knew to be depression. Every once in a while she got like this. Death was never a pretty sight - she was only a child, after all. Even though he was bored of it, he continually followed Aeru around the forest. What a strange amount of time to not get a call. “You don’t have to, you know.” Aeru suddenly spoke, looking Joe in the eyes. She was pouring with tears. “You don’t have to follow me. I know you want to go watch anime.” “Aeru… I--” Suddenly, Joe disappeared. A shock pierced Aeru’s mind. “Joe?!” Suddenly the fear of this place came rushing back. The fog was so thick she couldn’t even see. “JOE!” There was no sound. The only thing in all directions was the dirty white fog. Then, without warning, a hand suddenly came from over Aeru’s shoulder! It covered her mouth and she was pulled back into a person’s body. “Sleep, my child…” Aeru felt her consciousness drifting. Her eyes slowly closed. She fell into a deep sleep. Speak to me now and the world will crumble Open a door and the moon will fall All of your life, all your memories Go to your dreams, forget it all ***

I've heard of Arjuna, but had to look up the other one. The concept sounds great, so I might just check it out. Though according to ANN there's 24 episodes - sounds like you're missing out :p -
^^;; just try to keep it as little gory as possible. I want to avoid an M-rating. But still, yeah, use some fun deaths. Maybe someone's mind can expand into becoming it's own universe? lol, I better not spoil anything :p

Okay... so... I need some anime to watch. I'm looking for series that are already complete since I loose attention waiting for the next episode of a show. I like anime that is psychological or emotional, or just any really good anime. I like to see a lot of characterization, since I like being made to care about the characters. I also enjoy originality in a series. The only thing I'm totally avoiding is episodal comedy. I've been watching so many lately that the genre is getting old to me, so I need some more serious shows in the meantime. I'd also like to keep it in the 12-26-episode range If it helps, some of my favorite anime include: Neon Genesis Evangelion Welcme to the NHK The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Fooly Cooly Serial Experiments Lain Kino's Journey Boogiepop Phantom Paranoia Agent Kanon 2006 Air Hitohira Simoun Also, please do not reccommend me anything on CN. I've seen it.

Well, we don't wanna kill too many, cuz then it's not worth it to even be on the journey and they'll all go home, and we also don't want them to die too close together cuz it's supposed to be a long journey...
-
If you want to pm them and see if they intend to post, that works for me, otherwise, if we end up with just five I'm still game. It's kind of sad to lose others but I'm still enjoying it just the same. And since it's sort of a community format with Esper Jam, losing people makes sense, they just end up doing other things once they become a part of Esper Hall. ^_~
That's kind of what I figure happened to the other guys, but for the ones already on this journey we'll just have to ignore them i guess. Or I could have them get eaten by dinosaurs. I really, really want someone to get eaten by a dinosaur. I.E. don't get too attached to all of those NPCs XD

So... okay, Darren's profile says he's been on today, so I know it's not like he's gone, and yet he and Hells haven't posted yet... Stephanie has apparently left the boards alltogether, and I haven't seen Jiazu around even though he said he wanted to continue. Prem hasn't posted yet, but he told me 'ill have it today, if not, you can kick me out or whatever.' So... I know Aaryana, Indifference, and GuyYouMetOnline are al still interested and Prem seems to want to continue. Should I just narrow it down to the five of us or what? I've been setting things up for a large group of players, but if we're down to five dudes, I want to know if I should work things in that direaction.

I applaud the idea. Finally, kids will know what they're doing going both ways, and we can all enjoy a more educated sex life in our early years. Maybe it'll also nip all the gay sex misconceptions in the bud as well.
"It's easy to forget what a sin is in the middle of a battlefield." opposite over hypotenuse dipshit
All of the ones you provided were good, but that's the first one all thread to make me lol. Here's one I heard from a joke thread somewhere else that actually wast too dirty to ever be repeated ^^;; ________________________________________________________________ Pierre, a brave French fighter pilot, takes his girlfriend, Marie, out for a pleasant little picnic by the River Seine. It's a beautiful day and love is in the air. Marie leans over to Pierre and says, " Pierre , kiss me!!" Pierre grabs a bottle of Merlot and splashes it on Marie lips. "What are you doing, Pierre ?" says the startled Marie. "I am Pierre, the fighter pilot!! When I have red meat, I have red wine!!" She smiles and they start kissing. Things began to heat up a little and Marie says, " Pierre , kiss me lower." Our hero tears her blouse open, grabs a bottle of Chardonnay and pours it on her breasts. " Pierre !! What are you doing now?" asks the bewildered Marie. "I am Pierre, the fighter pilot!! When I have white meat, I have white wine!!" She giggles and they resume their passionate interlude, and things really steam up. Marie leans close to his ear and whispers, " Pierre , kiss me much lower!!" Pierre rips off her underwear, grabs a bottle of Cognac and pours it in her lap. He then strikes a match and lights the cognac on fire. Marie shrieks and dives into the River Seine. Standing waist deep, Marie throws her arms into the air and screams furiously, "PIERRE, WHAT THE F**K DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?" Our 'hero' stands and says defiantly, "I am Pierre, the fighter pilot!! If I go down, I go down in flames!!" __________________________________________________________________ This one's reeeeeaaalllly long but really good... __________________________________________________________________ A first-grade teacher was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked the boy, "What is your problem?" The boy answers, "I'm too smart for the first-grade. My sister is in the third grade and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in the third grade too!" The Teacher had enough. She took the boy to the principal's office. While the boy waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal what the situation was. The principal told the teacher he would give the boy a test and if he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the first grade and behave. She agreed. The boy was brought in and the conditions were explained to him and he agreed to take the test. Principal: "What is 3 x 3?" Boy: "9." Principal: "What is 6 x 6?" Boy : "36." And so it went with every question the principal thought a third grader should know. The principal looked at the teacher and told her, "I think the boy can go to the third grade." The teacher said to the principal, "I have some of my own questions. Can I ask him ?" Both the principal and the boy agreed. Teacher: "What does a cow have four of that I have only two of? Boy (after a moment): "Legs." Teacher : "What is in your pants that I do not have?" Boy: "Pockets." Teacher : "What starts with a C and ends with a T, is hairy, oval, delicious, and contains thin whitish liquid? Boy: "Coconut." Teacher: "What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and sticky? The principal's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer, the boy was taking charge. Boy: "Bubblegum." Teacher: "What does a man do standing up, a woman does sitting down, and a dog does on three legs? The principal's eyes opened really wide and before he could stop the answer... Boy: "Shake hands." Teacher: "Now I will ask some "Who am I" sort of questions, okay?" Boy: :Yep." Teacher: "You stick your poles inside me. You tie me down to get me up. I get wet before you do." Boy: "Tent." Teacher: "A finger goes in me. You fiddle with me when you're bored. The best man always has me first." The Principal was looking restless, a bit tense. Boy: "Wedding Ring." Teacher: "I come in many sizes. When I'm not well, I drip. When you blow me, you feel good." Boy: "Nose." Teacher: "I have a stiff shaft. My tip penetrates. I come with a quiver. Boy: "Arrow." Teacher: "What word starts with a 'F' and ends in 'K' that means lot of heat and excitement?" Boy: "Firetruck." Teacher: "What word starts with a 'F' and ends in 'K' & if you don't get it you have to use your hand?" Boy: "Fork " Teacher: "What is it that all men have, one of it's longer on some men than on others, the pope doesn't use his and a man gives it to his wife after they're married? Boy: "SURNAME." Teacher: "What part of the man has no bone but has muscles, has lots of veins, like pumping, & is responsible for making love?" Boy: "HEART." The principal breathed a sigh of relief and said to the teacher, "Send this Boy to College, I got the last ten questions wrong myself!" __________________________________________________________________
