Meh... there's a very dark period in my life that I've mostly forgotten about where most days were pretty godawful and thinking about them makes me feel less than human. If I picked out any of the worst, I'd only make myself mad. Instead, I'll talk about a day that actually happaned during that period, though this particular day wasn't about emotional trauma as much as just being strange. You see, at the time, i was living in a rather bad neighboorhood and went to a pretty crappy school. It sucked for me being one of about 5 white kids in the building cuz next to no one ever talked to me and stuff. About 3 weeks before we moved away from there was a particular incident that was memorably zany. At my school, there was this one guy who was like the hall monitor guy or otherwise disciplinary officer of the school - he was pretty useless, but he would get you in trouble for stupid **** (you had to keep your shirt tucked in at all times, for example, though we only did so when he was around.) The guy was basically a freak cuz he didn't seem to have a brain or any sense whatsoever, and he abused his so-called power like crazy. On this day, that guy as well as the officers who worked at our school came into the classroom because they were going to do a backpack check. They lined all the students up against the walls and started going through all the desks and backpacks in the room! So the crazy man goes into my backback and pulls out my scissors. I was using one of those big pairs of scissors, and this maniac pulls them out and starts going 'who's is this? Who's backpack is this?' and ****. Me being honest raised my hand timidly and was called forth. 'What ere you doing with these?!' what should I say? 'um... it's a pair of scissors' 'but what were you doing with them?!' what the ****? He's never used scissors before? Are you serious? So this guy starts telling me that I can be prosecuted for this, that I might be expelled and promises me that I'm going to get in trouble. He puts the things in a manilla envelope and everything and hands it to an officer! Needless to say I was freaking out for the rest of the day. Thank god i never heard about that again... I guess he really was all talk... ------ EDIT: Actually, i completely forgot about one from when I was in 3rd grade that I usually qualify as my worst day ever and the one that has had the biggest negative impact on my life. You see, when I was in first and second grade I always had excellent grades in school and stuff and everyone always said how smart I was and I decent friends and such. In third grade, I went to a 'gifted school' instead of my regular school because I was so smart or whatever. Unfortuanetally I probably wasn't ready for it, because I started getting Cs. Now, these days, if I get a C I think I was lucky, because these days I honestly don't give a rats *** about my grades, and this is part of the reason why. But back then, my mom would always get really angry at me for getting bad grades, so I thought it was some kind of horrible thing to do bad in school. I also thought that if I got a D I would get kicked out of school or something. I wasn't at all ready for that pressure, though. I'm not that hard a worker at all, and I remmber days where my mom would tell me to do my homework when I got home and i would end up doing it up to four hours simply because I could never bring myself to get it right. I've always had this problem with homework and in the past 2 years I've practically not done any of the homework I've been assigned. Also at the time, I was always picked on because I had long hair and wore glasses and I was the only kid who still liked okemon and wore t-shorts of it every dya. I was also short and weak. Kids would do lots of mean things to me (and did till like 8th grade) and one day I finally couldn't take it any more. I was only like 8 years old and I remember going into my baby brother's room where there were all these beenie babies hung up on these flat white clothespins. Some of the bigger beanies were in a pile at the bottom of the line, so I sat in the pile crying my eyes out. I took two of the clothespins and clamped one over my nose and one of my lips in an attempt to suffocate myself. It was a dumb way to try and do so, but I was only 8 so i guess I didn't know better, but the things hurt too much to keep them on long enough. I attribute all of my many future suicide attempts to that first incident driving me over the edge. Just hinking about it makes me sick to my stomach - no 8 year old should ever be driven to make that kind of desicion, and thank god I was so misguided about how to do it.

Pretentious Music for Pretentious Musicians

I'm listening to the song Sisters! Brothers! Small Boats of Fire are Raining From the Sky! By Mt. Zion, and it's quite increadible, so I may just have to examine them more thoroughly. This is one band my family is going to get bored of instantly XD Also, after having listened to Australasia by Pelican, I think I like it a lot more than City of Echoes. CoE is an excellent album, but not nearly as emotional, IMO. -

I am one of those that is too impatient for Godspeed XD I mean, I've liked some of what I heard, even the 20 minute tracks, but when they get into serious minimalist mode they take too long to come out of it. I'm cool with a quiet moment and some softer sound between the big stuff like is present in most post-rock, but I can't deal with several minutes of next to nothing. It's too close to drone for me >_< I haven't heard much from Mount Zion except what I've heard from using 65daysofstatic radio on last.fm. -

To Oberon: Well, the whole reason I ended up listening to dredg was because I was looking for a band that was similar to Coheed, and if you listen to El Cielo and then listen to The Second Stage Turbine Blade by Coheed, there's a ton of similarities in my opinion. While I do agree that TMV and dredg don't necessarily sound alike, they still have enough similarities for comparison, I think. Both are a great, unique experience, though. To Jake: I've not lisened to much Blind Guardian, mostly because I have a hard time listening to folk metal bands that aren't Ensiferum because I always feel like 'I could be listening to Ensiferum right now...' -
Why do you talk about thing's like that.....o.o?
Well, cuz my group of friends is completely zany. All the 9th graders in my group are my victims  and since I would feel terrible if I harassed my female friends, I instead constantly hit on and threaten to rape my guy friends. It leads to some increadibly awquard conversations, but it's okay, because most of us know each other are straight. To people who see us acting that way though, it's O_o

Dude. Everytime you post here, I find new limits for the heights my eyebrows can hit. :animestun
I'm not entirely sure what that means ^^;; Either way, I haven't dreamt in the past days, so here's my recurring ones (or one of them, depending how long this takes) The first one I'd like to talk about is the crazy theater dream which ties directly into another one called the best buy dream. The first 'crazy theater' dream was one where I was in a movie theater - or so it seemed. The room was shaped like a movie theater that went back a rather large amount of rows, and rather than having a screen, there was a stage where bands were playing. On either side of the seats, the aisles went up into these strange balcony-like cliffs and throughout the dream my brother and I kept going to these and then back to our seats, paying no attention to the band. The first of the 'best buy' dreams was especially cool and weird. It starts off with my brother and I in a massive best-buy/barnes and noble style store - please note that at the time of this dream, i had not been shopping in nearly 6 months and I had nearly lost interest in anime and games entirely. It should also be noted that the lighting in the store was the orange of a setting sun and made everything look pretty. Now, while I was there, I was looking at the manga section and seeing all these things I wanted to buy, though some of them were rather obscure. There were 19 volumes of Trigun and a Tenchi Muyo manga I wanted to buy, and I was looking at Ranma as well as a bunch of other random titles. Stuff started to get really weird, though, when my brother and I left the doors through the back of the store... into an arena from Unreal Championship 2. In fact, the entire place had the graphical quality of a first-person shooter and I had been turned into a very cool-looking robot as well as several other people who were apparently people I knew. Anywho, we had a huge battle in a cool ruins-esque place, then returned to the store and continued looking around and repeated the process again. It was... REALLY strange. The reason I talked about the first of each beforehand is because the next one had combine elements of both as well as something entirely different. The dream began with me in the same movie-theter setting thing, only this time I was with a friend I'd had several houses beforehand. The significance of this was probably that said friend and I had once gone to see Hero together, but that's not important now. This time, the concert apparently had Linkin Park in it, which I was excited about, but something went wrong and then the place had a screen that had this purple creepy-looking background and I had a remote to operate it. On the screen there were these tabs with song titles on them (think Donkey Konga) that I was cycling through. After a while of this, we left in my friend's mom's van. Aftetr a while of driving around it became dark and we were passing through this neighboor hood and as we were driving along, somehow we ended up outside of the van, and what would come charging down the road but a giant mechanical spider? The thing was bigger than a house, had four legs, and it had the sleek white frame like the robots from i-Robot. This thing comes walking down the street crushing cars and stuff and naturally I go into panic. Firstly, my friend and his mom managed to escape, which I was glad for, but I was running from this behemoth. I was hiding behind cars and darting along cautiously, but the thing was shooting green lasers and missles at me (Mechwarrior influence, probably). Eventually there was a part where I was running a downhill slope and I managed to climb into the seat of this blue robotic mechanism that was basically just two long legs with a thing in the middle to sit in and pilot it. I got in and... well this part things get really weird for a moment. The thing takes off into the air, and I'm in the sci far above the world, looking down on it. Evidentally, the city we live in is shaped like a map from a dungeon-crawler game with multiple layers that make it look almost like a building compound. At that moment, i remember that there was some kind of random sci-fi storyline behind the whole thing that I don't remember any details of. I flew around above the apparently-futuristic city for a while and finally decided to drop... into what I immediately identified as the same best-buy thing from the other dream. This time. i was looking at manga again, but this time there were these three young girls that were there. I remember being really shy toward them or something and that one of them was flirting with me - right around when i finally worked up the courage to talk to her I woke up. That's probably my favorite dream ever just for the epic-ness of the whole spider part.
Hmm, misconceptions are always fun. Since I was 17, many people I have met assume that I am older than my years. When I was 18, I had a uni mate who thought I was 25, an unusual compliment I guess.
People who either A. haven't spoken to me or B. I an trying to impress tend to think I'm older than I am. When I was a freshmen I got a ton of 'ZOMG I thought you were a Sophomore' and this last year I got a ton of 'ZOMG I thought you were a junior!' and from people I tried to impress it was more of 'ZOMG I thought you were 16' Apparently I am also decent jailbait.
Wow, so I'm not the only one who thought so. lol That had me thinking about the five doctors episode where that one fool got turned into a statue during his quest to gain immortality! Hehe! Which is fine by me. ^_^ I love Dr. Who!No. :p For your own sake you mean, leave me out of that. *poke* Still it should be interesting with you controlling her instead of Joe. And indifference is right, you do beat up on poor Joe a lot. lol Anyway, I too will be back later with a post. I'm sort of working together with indifference on it. Since she's of the opinion that Vanyel would not want to volunteer so my character is going to drag her along. XP
I kind of figured that would be the case, lol. As for me beating up on Joe a lot - he is very powerful, and those with a lot of responsibilities see the most trouble, they say. He's not really in pain right now, though, he's just part of an energy conglomerate. ^_^ I can't wait to get to the part where we explain how to free the friends - this is going to be so cool! Will edit with Shiana sign-up. Name: Shiana Age: 30 Gender: Female Appearance: Biography: Shiana came to Esper Hall just 2 weeks before Joe. She was younger at the time and when she first starting seeing Joe around she developed a crush on him. Unfortunately, Joe never picked up on any of her hints and was often wrapped up in his studies. Meanwhile, Shiana was so focused on Joe that she started to pay less attention. Eventually, in a flurry of tears, she confessed her love for Joe, and they started dating, only to break up soon afterward. Things were awkward for them for a long while, but that changed before long. Both Joe and Shiana were hard workers and extraordinary workers. Before long, they started to gain lots of respect from their peers, especially Joe who excelled at positively everything and involved himself in every little thing. Both of them gradually gained renown, especially from younger espers who came to them for help. Through their work they became very close friends and many started to confuse them as siblings or a couple. About five years after having come to Esper Hall, Joe and Shiana tried once more to become romantically involved. Due to their renown, it was a well-known relationship with a lot of supporters, and the two felt very deeply in love. After a month or so, though, they realized that it couldn’t work out. Both of them were far too busy and neither was very good at handling a relationship. Once again, they broke up, only this time they remained good friends. People who weren’t around at the time still confuse them for a couple. That was a year or so ago. Shiana still has feelings for Joe, though she is content with just being close friends. Whether Joe reciprocates these feelings is unknown, though his demeanor toward her often resembles that of a married couple. Powers: Shiana can see days into the future, though she never looks at the right time. Her mental capacity is considered extraordinary. She is a master of shields. Affinity: Love is love, gender is nothing Other facts: Loves reading romantic novels that take themselves seriously and is a big anime fan.

Otakupedia Entries/Suggestions/Discussion thread

Im not really sure what to write about at all... I would like to add some stuff to my article on the OB Anthology though. Other than that, though, all of the requested articles are things I either don't know about or aren't interested in. We need more requests! The Anthology Revolution Over the coarse of the past few months the Adventure Underground section has become far more alive than it ever was. Whereas in the past most threads featured very little posts, nearly half of the threads on the front page now feature over 50 posts and some have hundreds. This may be partially owed to the Panopticon Underground?s rampant and popular activity, as the surge in these massive topics seemed to come about right around the time of the massive thread?s slow death at 608 posts. -
Episode 3 definitely alleviated the doubts I was having after episode 2. Although the animation seemed to be a little dodgy at parts, the comedy was in no short supply. There was a running gag about how Justice seems to think Najimi whored herself out and got pregnant that was absolutely hilarious in all it's comebacks. Justice has proven himself the best character in this show so far and deserves to be worshipped. Adding to that, this episode had the single best moment in the show so far and my 'moment of the week'
I do believe Liam got turned into stone. There's the way to gain immortality. lol That whole post had a very Dr. Who feel to it. And I see that you tend to beat Joe up a lot. Anyway, I assume that the young man with blonde hair is a new character you will be controlling? Also, I'll have a post up in a bit. Reflecting that six weeks have since passed. EDIT: Uh Prem... It's only been six weeks not six months.
Actually the young man was supposed to be that guy Darren's character had the hots for, who was joe's best friend. I will be controlling Shiana this round. Also, yeah, six weeks, and also they're leaving on the same day ^^;;

People think I'm a goth, a stoner, that I listen to 'rock' music, that I never brush my hair, that I never shower (it just gets greasy fast!!!), that I secretly want to kill everyone in the school or that I carry weapons on my person (one kid, after someone accidentally hit me in the head with a basketball, comes to me and goes 'hey man, if you snap, I'm on your side, okay?!'). A lot of people think I'm gay or bisexual or just a freak (that's my fault cuz I always talk about having sex with my guy friends) People think I do nothing but look at porn all day long or that I am some sort of 'porn king', some people think I will eat absolutely anything, and the biggest misconception that most people have about me is that I'm an ignorant, stupid dumbass with no brain whatsoever.

Very interesting sort of poetic short story you have there raiha! I enjoyed your story, and I can't help but wonder if you're going through this right now, seeing as it felt very realistic in that aspect. To take it apart into my reactions toward it, the part I liked the most was the last three stanzas and the following two lines. That part had a great descriptive nature that felt powerful. The first 2 stanzas are a good lead-in, I'd say. The third and fourth lines were the only ones I felt kind of iffy about, cuz they sound kind of like a frantic teenager ranting over this guy or something. these two definitely give us a better view of the situation, but their kind of unnecessary and are kind of just ragging on the guy rather than describing your reaction to it, like the rest of the poem. The 5th stanza works perfectly fine, thuogh. With the 3rd and 4th stanza removed, it reads much more powerfully.

Name: Aeru (pronounced ah-ay-ru) Gender: Female Apparent Age: 12 Personality: Aeru is easily saddened and cries a lot, but she has a constitution strong enough to help her continue on. She is very playful and enjoys mingling in human affairs as well as playing a sort of matchmaker for couples that she watches. She is very careful in her duties toward helping wandering spirits that are too attached to something in life and helping them to be free. Aeru is sometimes picked on by other shinigami for being so soft and crying all the time, though none would deny that she is an excellent, hard worker and always does her job well. She is usually very enthusiastic, but when she is sad, she wears her emotions on her sleeve. Eccentricities: Wherever Aeru floats about, she always has a dance in her step. During any quiet moment she sings or hums and whistles and always has a song in her head. Familiar: Aeru's familiar is a furry black cat with bat wings that flies around her named Joe. Sorry that chapter 2 ended so abruptly, but I really wanted to get it over with and I finally came up with the perfect idea for chapter 3! *assuming you've read the pst* Okay, so we're kicking off 6 weeks in the future and as you can see, some crazy stuff is going down. What I want you to do first is sort of tell us what your character is like after 6 weeks of being at esper hall - after all, they've probably developed a lot more powers as well as progressed in their relationships. Leading up to, of course, how your character ends up being one of the 20 about to embark on this monster journey across space and time! Like I said, 20 notches up XD

It?s beyond anything I?ve ever felt? the raw energy? Liam soaked in the energy swelling from the druids, feeling his mind open and spread. It was as if an entire universe were opening up inside of his head. A universe full of power. The magnitude was amazing, even for the powerful esper, but suddenly everything went quiet. ?Liam. What are you doing? Why did you bring those children here?? Is this a hallucination? Liam suddenly realized that he was floating in an endless void of white. He turned his head about but couldn?t find anyone there. Amazing! The power is so great, even I am being fooled! ?You may be a fool, but this is no trick, young one.? ?Who are you?? ?That is inconsequential. Please answer my questions.? ?I came here on my quest to become a mage. With this much power, I can surely raise my mental status to a new height! As for the children; they are all fresh minds that I will mould into my own army!? As these words left Liam?s mouth, even himself seemed puzzled by his honesty and the severity of his use of words. Still, the voice responded. ?You?re a damn fool, indeed. To think that a mage could be created through power. You truly believed you were a messenger of god, didn?t you. But in the end, you?re nothing but a bastard child.? The words ?in the end? rang in Liam?s mind and brought about a tinge of fear. ?A mage is one who is at peace with existence and weaves himself into the fabric of being. You are nothing but a man who?s mind is riddled with thoughts of power and has been driven to madness. Power only brings corruption in the minds of mortal men.? There was a brief silence, then Liam slowly began to laugh. Louder and louder his voice boomed as he cackled maniacally. ?Power! Corrupting the minds of mortal men! But I am no mortal man! I AM IMMORTAL! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!? ???????????So be it?.? Liam?s field of vision slowly shifted from white to pink - the color becoming darker and darker. Suddenly he started to choke and couldn?t find any oxygen in his lungs. My shield! Liam tried to erect his mental shield, but it didn?t stop his suffocation. The old man?s vision became black as his mind failed his physical form. ?In the end? you?re nothing but an old bastard?.? --- When the power surge ended, Liam was nowhere to be found. Instead, in the center of the circle of stones, another large stone stood. When they were finished with their initial pissed-offedness at Liam, the young espers found their way back to Esper Hall. When they found Shiana, they explained to her what happened, and Joe was found and freed from the dimension in which he was being kept; he was almost fatally ill and was sent to the hospital. Meanwhile, Shiana figured out that the 9 kids had been dramatically increased in power. Their capacity for mastering esper techniques was much higher than normal, and with luck, they?d be able to reach new heights of esper power. When Joe was released from the hospital, he got to work on writing and publishing a new book on esper studies based around the incident. --- Chapter 3: Yatahaze ---6 weeks later--- Movement One: Tell Well, time flies when you?re creating a work of? okay, so fact and art rarely coincide, but in any case, my novel was complete and added to the infinite shelves of knowledge that some like to call a library. I call it the book place. The kids who got hit with the energy blast have all come along nicely and become regular citizens of Esper Hall. There?s been a few new members since then as well, though it really must have been fate that dragged so many here on those fateful days. I gotta say, I?m glad those kids came, because Liam disappeared shortly after they arrived. I?ve seen what they believe to be his remains - the added stone was removed rather quickly, as it would have been dangerous to be left alone. Anyway, there are more important matters to be brought up. The energy surge at Stonehenge is a phenomena like I nor anyone at Esper hall has ever been around when recorded. The entire thing was only a split-second long in our time, but the wave of it?s influence was universal. This, of course, sent people out studying Stonehenge, though nothing was discovered. What we did find out from the results of the energy implosion was that it?s impact was both beneficial and negative on the universal scale. Movement Two: Energy ?Joe! Did you see the news yet?!? Shiana burst into my office like a storm with an excited tone. I knew this had to be important - I hopped up and followed Shiana hurriedly to her room. Stonehenge had disappeared. Entirely. ?And look at this!? Shiana handed me a clipboard with a paper attached and a list of around 20 names. ?these are all known, powerful espers who have died suddenly in the last 24 hours! Something?s going on Joe!? Indeed, ?something? was. Apparently the surge of energy had caused a universal disturbance which had caused the energy flow of space to increase in certain parts of space. This increased energy flow would have the power to suck in other high-energy frequencies. Anyone or anything with a high amount of energy would be flattened against the surface of an energy cloud and carried off on it?s journey. Movement Three: Information I stood before a crowd of all of esper hall on a podium. This was the most annoying feeling in the world - like a principal preaching to his school. And yet, I knew the importance of this. Many of the recently disappeared espers were significant community figures as well as our friends. And here I stood - currently the most powerful of us all. I know I usually seem modest, but were I to boast I could say that Shiana, the next on the ladder of power from me, pales in comparison. ??the way it works is, the cloud spent the past 6 weeks or so gathering energy from the galaxy it currently inhabits - ours. As it did so, it gradually increased to a frequency that would allow it to travel. By my estimate, it has reached that level in the past 24 hours. The places and people who?s energy radiates at a similar frequency would become a part of this energy cloud and carried with it as it embarks. This cloud may travel our own universe, or possibly seep into other universes depending on the energy it gathers. If one were to follow this energy being, they might be able to operate within it and free the people and things it has absorbed. Alternately, if the cloud were to come back to this galaxy, it would drop of whatever it left, though the amount of time before it does so is impossible to determine. The final possibility is that the cloud would eventually dissipate and release everything it has captured. Are there any questions?? ?Joe!? Shiana called from aside. ?You look pale?? I looked down at my palm and found it a ghostly white. Suddenly I heard the sound of a visceral tear. My mind was flung from his body. Movement Four: Rally The cloud gaped in horror as Joe?s lifeless body fell to the ground on the stage. Immediately the entire room went into an uproar. Shiana rushed to Joe?s side, yelling and shaking him there was a temporary panic until a young man with blonde hair took to the stand. ?Calm down everyone! You?re behaving like children! Listen. This field is going to leave us very soon. I don?t know about you all, but I do not intend to let my best friend and many more of my friends be taken away from me when I cannot even join them! It will be extremely dangerous, but I intend to follow this energy cloud and retrieve them! If you want to come along with me, that?s fine, but do not come unless you have a lot of skill and if you have mastered the shield technique. Once again, this is very dangerous, but it is also a great opportunity for you to enhance your skill and get our friends back! Who?s with me?!? Movement Five: Yatahaze ?Climbing? building us up? tearing me down? lifted back up we are climbing all of this time, drifting right back to the ground? suddenly?? A group of twenty stood in a circle; their minds concentrated as one and their hands joined together. ?Are you all ready?? A unanimous ?yes? was spoken between the circle, though some bore a mark of trepidation or inner turmoil. Some were determined, others scared, but all ready. Seconds later, the soil of the earth - the coils of reason, were left behind, as the true journey began.

2010DigitalBoy replied to Rachmaninoff's topic in General Discussion
. Anyway, as the title says, this is all about things that you think are fun to do and yet if others find out that you do… it’s embarrassing. lol

Masturbate?
... Well, i can't really go into detail right there XD Um... I like to wear my mom's striped sockings and this huge fullmetal alchemist hoodie that I have and pretend to be a moe girl. One of these days I'm going to become a professional trap, I promise!!! Erm... otherwise, pretty much anything I do at home is pretty embarassing. My and my brothers are childish. I spend a lot of time playing with my 9-year old bro pretending to be Pokemon or babies (most recent personas being 'Munchlax' and 'Baby Uncle: The uncle who's a baby and therefor smacks you and says 'ge me ah sammich!') Um... I talk about anime porn on forums and about being a trap? Honestly, what about me isn't embarassing? I feel sorry for the few friends I have XD Oh, and I sing and dance constantly, period at home. Good fun. I also enact action scenes to myself. When I'm bored I always pace around the house incessantly and sometimes burst into a room then start slashing or shooting at air. -
>_> And debating with them is going to get them to change their views?
It serves other purposes. I learn from them - i often find interesting things in hearing the opinions of others, and I've been told by some that they find my opinions interesting as well. That's what forums were created for >_> Anyway, another one is when you buy soda and someone drinks it before it gets cold. That bit you wasted could've been enjoyed as a nice, cold beverage, but you had to go and be impatient and drink the warm, crappy stuff and you won't even quench your thirst. It'll just make you thirstier. Bastard. I guess this doesn't apply to peeople who use ice. Then again, those people probably watch(ed) Nickolodeon.
Heh, I like both. Beating the game without the guide and then going back and using the guide to help me get all the stuff I missed. :animesmil I definately like beating it on my own first. Unless I get so stuck I can't go on. Then I'll use it just enough to get myself unstuck. And if that were to be something that grinds my gears... It's paying for a guide only to find out that it's total garbage. Some of them out there leave much to be desired. It's pretty sad when you could have written a better one than the company did. Though most of the few I've gotten were pretty good. However they make those horrible ones really stand out. lol
That's why we've got GameFAQs, lol. Seriously, it's a crime to go out and pay for a strategy guide if you have internet XD. That's another thing that grinds my gears - strategy guides published for action gmaes. I can see how someone might need a guide to get everything in Final Fantasy XII or something, but if you really need help running a blue hegehog through straightforward romps or guiding Dante along a journey that basically points you in each direction, maybe you ought not to play said game >_> On that note, the only times I ever get strategy guides is when my parents buy me games. They always buy the strategy guide as well, just cuz they think it's necessary or something ^^;; it's pretty cool in some cases, though, like how I got the special edition guide for FF12.

Anime Parents And Anime: Do They Approve?
2010DigitalBoy replied to Rachmaninoff's topic in Otaku Central
One must understand someting. A good percent of anime is porn. Otaku are perverts, and this stuff can turn you into a pedophile. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's corrupting our youth, because if our youth are that stupid, they don't need anime to help them be corrupt. The world is evil - not just anime. But still, while these moms have no idea what they're talking about, which makes it kind of sad, they aren't far off. I personally have volumes of a manga distributed in English by Tokyopop with depictions of nude elementary-schoolers and rape of underage girls (and it's a comedy manga!). (BTW, I'm talking about Welcome to the NHK, the best series EVAR) -
To my credit, I have never used a strategy to help me beat a game. I am pretty perceptive about games, even RPGs. I think that relying on strategy guides is stupid and only for those who are too lazy to think for themselves. I hate those gamers. I also dislike those who ask me to help them beat a part of a game for them. Figure it out you dumbass, like I had to. There are exceptions, though. I will tell you how I did something simple like actviate Star Power or throw a Hadoken....that's simple. But don't ask me to beat Ruby Weapon or the Mother Brain for you.
I dunno about that... I mean, I've always been one who feels guilty about using a guide, but when i'm running around Sector 4 for 3 freaking hours with no idea what to do, only to find out that I had to duck next to this one single particular wall that had no sign of significance and use a Morph Ball Bomb, you can bet I'll be glad that the strategy guide was there to keep me from breaking my SP on half. (BTW, I'm talking about Metroid Fusion) Another thing that grinds my gears - games that give you no sense of direction. Scouring a level until I find the one stupid passage way i needed to blow up and having to fight the same enemies 50 times is not fun! (which is odd, because I love the Metroid series >_>)

Greh. I'm about to do a major story post, just a warning not to accidentally ost and contradict it. I'm sorry this rp has been so dead, but I'm about to kick it up a notch. Or twenty.

Anime Parents And Anime: Do They Approve?

Lol, this reminds me of the petition to ban anime that some woman had a few thousand sigs on at the petition site thing. And almost her whole thing was just bashing on Ah! My Goddess XD IF ONLY SHE KNEW!!!! My parents don't give a damn. My mom and dad don't really like cartoons at all, so they don't watch it with me or anything, but my mom seems to be convinced that there is nudity in a bunch of my anime, simply because some of it involves vampires and ****. In actuality, i don't think there's a speck of nusdity on any DVD of mine, not speaking for the manga. My parents basically just didn't want me looking at porn back when I was 12, but at this point they don't care. Which is good, cuz I look at A LOT of anime porn.
