Does that mean that our little ol' creator is getting back in action?
Yes, it is. I am not sure when Takuya's plan will come into action, or how he plans to span it out, so it could be a while or a couple days before I return to the reigns. After that, though, it should be smooth sailin' The reason I'm announcing this is because I also have another rp in the process of being created, and I didn't want you all to think I'd abandoned you :catgirl: I fully intend to see this rp through to the... well, if there ever is an end, than to the end.
-
Well, Takuya has planned out the stretch of this arc, and then I've planned out where to go from there, so this rp will live long and prosper :catgirl: I don't know if he's working on it now or if he's waiting for me to progress it, but the action should start shortly :animesmil Despite it's length, this rp has mostly been fondling with introductions and stuff so far, so after this arc I'd like things to really 'get started' so to speak. If you've been having fun already, then you're sure to enjoy what the future has in store ;) *pets muse* you adorable little hellion!
I know, I know, we've already partially touched into this topic somewhere on OB before. But, I'm going to bring it up again. Why is the signature size the size that it is? Is it not possible to make it any larger? And does anybody out there agree that signature size should in fact be bigger?
It's cuz of 56k users which we do in fact have a few of. And besides, that's enough space to be artistic. If you want big, annoying *** pics, link em.

I'm slightly stressed, though pensively excited. Stressed because a lot of bugs haev been appearing lately Bugs put me in a state of reclusive paranoia. I find myself checking myself constantly for any sign of bugs and every little itch freaks me out. In the instance I actually see a bug, i go into hyper freak-out mode and evacuate the room where I saw it for the duration of my awake time. It sucks, though the bugs have been slightly less active the last couple days... I'm also stressed because my dad always seems to be stressed lately and nothing is more stressful than my dad being stressed. Also, I threw a 50 pound chair onto my brother's bed and it hit the wall, causing a hole like I punched the wall. If my fist was made of iron. Since the walls are plaster. And also, we don't own this house, though we have plans to possibly buy it (at my dad's whim >_

This is off topic entirely, but Fasterisk, you should post more often. i could read your posts all day and probably not get bored... long as they involve anime >_>... anyway, your explanation of that is awesome. For some reason, it gives me hope for the future of moe. And makes me feel better about liking it. And reminds me how much i love crazy people.

User Names: Because Repeat Threads Are Good For You!
2010DigitalBoy replied to SunfallE's topic in General Discussion
Some of yall's names have the coolest histories evar. Every time I post in one of these incarnations, my post is rediculously large... oh well... When I was around 8 years old I made up a video game in which the main character was named Tical. From that point on, I used the name Tical like crazy, and in sequels to that story i'd use names like Tigen and such. When I first entered the internet world on a Yu-gi-oh! forum many moons ago, my screenname was naturally Tical. My email adress, on the other hand, was 'Ticalultimate' because Tical was already taken. Considering myself the only true Tical, I added the 'ultimate'. I used Tical when I signed up for Otakuboards. When I first signed up, my cousin also signed up as Otaku_Samurai88 though he didn't ever come here. When Tical got banned, I assumed control of O_S88. This username also held special significant because it was the name of the publication company my cousin and I pretended to be the owners of >_> Since my little brother had the email adress MetalSonic700, I also signed up here with that. I was also the one controlling it ^^;; Eventually I ended up creating a new account, Kyo no Ryu, that lived on otakuboards for a long time. Kyo no ryu translates to 'Kyo's Dragon'. I didn't know this at the time, I thought it was 'Kyo the Dragon' >_> found out later... either way, it was inspired by Samurai Deeper Kyo. anywho I used it a long time (and I also had like 6 sockpuppets i don't remember...) but eventually lost the password. I created some other account and purposefully got myself banned. I was IP banned... My next name was ThatOneOddDude. This is another name that holds a lot of meaning to me. I've never been 'normal' by any kind of comparison, but i absolutely hate thinking of myself as 'weird' or 'crazy'. Those titles are cliche and ignorant and I hate them. As a person who has lived in 17 different houses, I've always wondered how my past friends would remember me. I figure I could be remembered as that one odd dude. With that account, i had like 5 name changes >_< The first one was ThoraxTheImpaler. This was taken from a skit on X-play in the Adventure of Bob And Steve using Splinter cell 3's co-op mode. Bob was calling himself Thor-axe the impaler. I couldn't fit the whole name so I used the bug part. Also, I believe it was rifles who made me a sweet banner referencing the skit. Next was during an... um... 'transitional period' of my life. it was Hug_Monster, which I actually also used on theOtaku and Gaia as well as some other places I think... either way, everything was purple and I'd rather not talk about it... Back then were hard times, and I remember during that winter break, every morning I would stay up till the morning so that I could sit out on my 'patio' and watch the sun rise. One day i decided that I wanted to become a nomad... i thought that eventually I would ride gorseback across the country and live off the land or whatever. So I made my name ? Nomad Tical ? cuz that cross thing was my 'symbol'. Later it went back to Tical. Then even more later I started this theme of making everything Blue. (I even did the story Princess of Blue at that time) and so my name was Tical Blue. This was also my name on other places, I think. Either way, this would be my last name before leaving the internet for a while... Then I came back to OB as FOY or Flourescent Optic Yellow. A little while later I became obsessed with the song 21st Century Digital Boy by Bad Religion, but since most places don't allow a name that long, I decided to use 2006 and then 2007DigitalBoy. Almost everywhere that I was using the name Tical, I abandoned it (discluding youtube). The email I mostly use is Metalsonic700 which is my name in some places, but for the most part Digital Boy has really stcuk with me, because I think theat's really the best way to describe me. I am 100% a product of the 21st century, lol. Anyway, I use that name everywhere with variations such as digitalboyDB and such. Oh, and I still have a rarely-used sockpuppet here that I use when I'm on my brother's mac :p I'm sure he'll post here eventually... -
Oh my gosh! After all this time, ADV actually licensed the Jing OVA! I couldn't be happier. The TV series is dead to me, and I never could get into the manga, but the OVA is just lovely (and worth every penny of the R2 deluxe set). I'll be delighted to own it on R1 DVD. ~Dagger~
holy crap! I created this topic with my original account! And posted again in my second!!! Anyway, I'm more than excited to hear this. I've wanted to see this FOREVER!!! This was my favorite arc in the manga, and the anime version i've heard is great (the rest of the anime wasn't nearly as good as the manga). I look forward to this!
The whole thing is really practical. Sure, you might have to buy some things but you can generally pull of a different look with what you've got. It's all in the way you present yourself. Wearing baggy dickies, and a plain black shirt with scraggy un-kempt hair and maybe a wrist band or two will turn you into one of those mallcore kids. Simply taking the wrist bands off, lookin' for and working on a hairstyle with gels and stuff to look nice and generally having your black clothing look nice, wrinkle free, and clean will turn you from mallcore into, say, contemporary. Its easy. Just get creative with what money you don't have. Borrow the little things like hair clips, wrist bands, shoes, whatever. Hey, can't call it a challenge if it's easy.
What I don't get is, how and to whom are we going to show this look to? Are we just suposed to like, go to the mall looking like that and chill or what? I mean, as a borderline hikikomeri, it's not like anyone's gunna see tha transition, and it's not like my mindset is changed or anything >_>
How about Pikmin 2 on the GCN? It?s a really fun game that combines both real-time strategy and creative puzzle elements together in one game. Plus, being able to control an army of Pikmins (little plant creatures) to assist you on your adventure to find valuable treasures is an amazing experience. Visually speaking, it?s a gorgeous looking game that still holds up well today in my opinion.
If he had a 360 he'd be able to play Pikmin 3. While the others were interesting, I like Pikmin 3 the best because it's far more comical and the pikmin are a lot more controllable than in the other games. While the system isn't as advanced as the first two, it's not as tedious and has more fun levels. BTW, I'm talking about Overlord >_>

I almost watched this a while ago, but something distracted me and I never got to it. i've seen Voices of a Distant Star and I thought that was utterly amazing. The animation was beautiful though the plotline may have even outshined it. The entirety of the film was laid with an overwhelming sadness that was simply amazing. I dare say that I would put this man over Miyazaki in my own personal light simply because while Miyazaki's films are always imaginative and unique - I am more a fan of emotion and deepness of plot (not to say that Miyazaki films aren't deep, but they don't cause me to react the same way). I will definitely check this out ASAP, especially if it gets theater release anywhere near me.

Writing How to Restore Your Creative Muse [Help thread]
2010DigitalBoy replied to Aberinkula's topic in Creative Works
I've found that writing fluff or random experimental crap is helpful, too. Getting in the mood of writing isn't always easy, especially if you don't feel like dedicating you to a big piece. Writing small pieces to start getting you in the mood starts to get you thinking 'man... i really feel like doing something, now' kinda what I'm trying to do right now... in Esper Jam... -
>_> I may not have any story ideas, but I decided to give a heads-up on joe. Even if it's really kind of fluff. I have to admit, that was weird even for me. Blame Akiyuki Shinbo...

Red ?God damn it!? Joe howled in rage as he stood up, having been knocked to the ground by the force of rushing the barrier of his current prison. This tiny universe was intensely strong - by not making it too vast, Liam had been able to concentrate more power on making it durable. Joe had concentrated amounts of energy incomparable to the limits of human imagination on breaking free, but his efforts were in vain. In a fit of rage, he attacked haphazardly and with full force over and over. Blue Joe eventually tired of beating on the walls and began to assure himself that he?d be freed soon enough when Shiana or someone else figured out he was missing. It?s not like they?d go an entire day without looking. After all, Joe could last a few hours anyway and probably undo whatever mischief the old bastard was reeking. The minute he was out, he?d rally the troops? Orange A placid boredom was holding onto Joe now. He cursed Liam for leaving him here for so long. He became more and more determined to thwart the old man, having nothing else to distract his thoughts. Eventually, he managed to fall asleep back on his bed. Purple Something wasn?t right here. It?d been so many hours now? he?d even had a thorough sleep. Had no one come to look for him for 18 hours?! What if they weren?t able to find him? Was this place in fact not an alternate version of his room, but somewhere else entirely? What if he wasn?t even on earth anymore?! Just how powerful was Liam anyway?! Black Joe felt like a carcass. He?d calmed down after realizing that the space existed in a much faster time than the outside world, so while he had been there 22 hours, it hadn?t been more than 3 in the outside world. He was so devoid of energy that he didn?t even roll about in his bed. He simply stared off into the gears and the backdrop that had continually reflected his emotions. ?Black, eh? You?re right? I feel dead?? He rolled over and fell back to sleep.

from an outside perspective, i look like a dirty goth. Probably a damn pagan or atheist or some crap. I wear all black all the time. Baggy, long shorts and way oversized shirts. All the shirts I wear have some band on them. I have long hair that looks unkept (it's just wazy >_>) and greasy. Currently I'm broken out pretty bad, too. I've got an ugly moustache (even though I think it's sexy >_>) and random facial hair that I'me too lazy to shave. I'm obviously not too weight-cautious, either, and I don't dress in a way that flaunts my looks. Basically, I probably look like a stoner or goth or some crap. I wear my hair in a ponytail most of the time and with a hat on. If you aren't close enough or are looking at me from behind, you probably think I'm a girl, though Once you see the huge eyebrows and abundant facial hair, I just look like I've been in the basement burning through dimebags all day. I also hang out with other folks who are totally goth. (NOTE: Most of this is actually stuff I've been accused of >_>) If I saw myself walking down the street with a friend, I'd think 'there's some damn goth kids' though if it was me looking at me I'd of course recognize myself, or at least be impressed by the band on my t-shirt XD As for the other thing - i don't have any archetype that I hate. And even if i did, I would never become them for a day. It's not within my power.

Alrighty! Sorry it's rather short, but I finally gave my first post. It should be noted that I'm not trying to give Eri superhuman strength or anything - her love for Munchlax allows her to lift him. :animesmil
-
Being only a small child, Munchlax wasn?t sure to make of his location or the people around him as he was released from his Pokeball. Almost immediately, though, a girl with purple hair had bent down and wrapped her arms around him in a big hug. Munchlax didn?t recognize her, but the attention made him happy. ?Munch!? Munchlax smiled and hugged the girl back with his stubby little arms. Even though he was a small Munchlax, his weight was still enormous; it ranged around 200-300 pounds. Despite this, the girl lifted him right off the ground and into her arms. Munchlax, unaware of it?s own ridiculous weight, was simply delighted to be cared for in such a way. ?Hey there, little Munch! My name?s Eri, and I?m going to be taking care of you, okay? You can think of me as your big sister!? ?Munch!? Eri giggled and cuddled her new friend. ?I bet you?re hungry, right?? If there was one word Munchlax knew, it was ?hungry?. The small yet heavy Pokemon nodded in affirmation. ?I?ll find you some Pokemon food right away!? Still with the creature in her arms, Eri began dashing about the facility searching for a place to find food. Finally she found a dish and a box of Pokechow. Setting Munchlax in a booster chair at the table, she poured some food into the bowl and watched Munchlax wolf it down like it was nothing. While the little guy enjoyed his food, Eri retrieved her Pokevice to find out her new friend?s statistics? Munch Species: Munchlax Gender: Male Type: Normal Level: 5 Location: Party Ability: Mass Consumption Attacks: Pound, Growl
That's what happens when you don't post enough to show us his true colours! :P
>_< also, Neuvo, i was typing at the same time lol. Luckily there were no contradictions...

Joseph?s expression and demeanor were placid as he strode along with a feeling of boredom and irritation. An animosity toward him was very evident among several of his group members, which bothered him. Such childishness is not the kind of thing becoming of a warrior. Perhaps it was merely that their youth and lack of experience hadn?t hardened them or shown them what a battle was all about. Emotions and mistakes were one and the same, and both should be avoided in the heat of combat. It was no surprise to hear that said members of the group were of lower ranks, and Joe was less than pleased about having to deal with them. While he didn?t blame them for not knowing what they were doing, he proffered to be dealing with professionals rather than children he?d have to look out for. Already he knew that there would be conflict between them - those who think rationally and those who let their emotions get in the way always have difficulty together. Still, he was ready to try and keep his mouth shut as much as possible. If they screwed up, he wanted to make sure they knew it was their own fault, and he?d be ready to sweep into fix whatever errors occurred. Until then, though, he?d let them have it their way?

Homosexuality: Discussion of
Not exactly, I'm just saying that accepting others, especially when the difference is so profound, at least for some people, it does take time and more than an instant total acceptance moment. ^_~ So even if it sounds bad, starting by not see a person as bad for being homosexual is a big step towards that total acceptance. So if people are moving past the total dislike and towards the learning to like, then human relations don't suck after all. ^_~ Especially since you've moved beyond the they must be bad for being gay to realizing they aren't any different than you are. At least not in a way that really matters. It really is a step by step process at times. And so long as people aren't stepping backwards, I think it's a good thing.
True. There is a glimmer of hope, after all. Though this is also a small, mostly liberal internet forum - a poor representation of the country's opinion! There will always be those who are moe accepting, and those who refuse till their grave. There can never be 100 percent agreement. Conflict goes on eternal! -

Homosexuality: Discussion of
2010DigitalBoy replied to Inuyasha Fandom's topic in General Discussion
It's not an oxymoron if you really think about it. For some getting past the I hate everything about homosexuality to even though I don't like it I don't dislike the person is just another step on the path to true tolerance and acceptance of those who are different than you. ^_^ In other words they are trying to see beyond your sexual preference if you will. Eventually I would like to see the acceptance become more broad and inclusive, but personally I'm just happy to see that people aren't just instantly disliking someone for being gay. I mean that is how you overcome such a difference of opinion right? You learn to on some level at least look the other way and quit trying to force your values on someone else. Though I've long since left that behind. And sometimes I wonder why I even accepted that it was wrong to begin with. It all seems so silly now. lol
To quote every shonen anime ever 'they may not accept you, but if you refuse to accept them then you are just as bad'. So, to be a good person, you have to accept the beliefs of those who dislike you and stuff, right? And, like, you can't get mad at them for not being accepting, cuz then you're not being accepting. Though if they never do come to acceptance, then you are forever pushed under, and if you aren't willing to wait you strike back. And thus war springs up and in the end the minority may be silenced or just struggle forever... >_< human relations suck... -
ZOMG best show ever after episode 2! Seriously, I havent loled this much at anything in a while. First of all, the dynamic between Fuuka-chan and Zetsubou-sensei is hilarious. While they contrast in world views, both of them have very similar personalities and levels of intelligence, especially in that they both take thigs way too far. I love how easily she convinced him that the hikki girl was an evil creature XD Like many comedy of this type, a lot of the humor was based on the misconceptions of the individual characters and this show does that aspect very well, IMO. The troubles with each of the three girls were enough already,
but then they all form together for a climax of immense proportions! I get the feeling every girl in this class is going to end up after the sensei XD Some of my favorite parts were Zetsubou-sensei's 'Travel List', the hikikomeri girl, the stalker girl showing up in an outfit similar to the teacher's and her wall of pictures, and of course all of the suicide attempt stuff.
Watching this and reading NHK at the same time is probably bad for my mental health XD EDIT: Almost forgot, Manabi Straight, Hidamari Sketch and Lucky Star references = win!

I had a couple wierd dreams last night. One of them involved me going to this large indoor concert hall - not unlike the kind you would go to to see a play on broadway or whatever - to see the band Dredg, who is my current band obsession. Near the end there was this weird part where I felll from my balcony seat onto a seat in the lower section and was teleported out of the building O_o As of last night, it is a reccurring dream, since I've seen the bands Ayreon and Opeth (touring together) in that same concert hall XD I also had a much longer dream about being at an anime convention. Or something like that. It was spread all throughout this huge town and there was all kinds of weird-*** crap... I mean, if I were to fully dscribe the magnitude and utter freakish wierdness of this dream I would require a visual medium and the best skill in explanation ever. This was also a recurring theme, because I've been lost in a similar convention before. Both of these tie into a dream I've been meaning to talk about - my recurring 'lost in the mall dream'. I've had a good deal of dreams that involve me being in this rediculously large mall and just wandering around, often lost or just not knowing where anyone is. In quite a few of them, I'll actually go into a strange-looking Gamestop or Suncoast or something, but i've never bought anything in any of these dreams. I think the game Dead Rising was the first inspiration for one of these dreams, since the malls are always massive and designed in a fashion that kind of resembles the game. In one of these dreams I actually encountered some friends of mine. One of them was helping me apparently trying desperately to find an appropriate hairbrush to buy O.o Sometimes the mall dream is just a small segment of another dream. For instance, there is a nother series of dreams i have called 'charging suburbia' which I will get into in my next post, but in one of these dreams I entered this strange mall that was essentially one long corridor that really wasn't even all that long, though there was apparently a load screen in the middle of it. Anyway, in this place all the walls were blue and there were zombies, though I managed to escape rather easily. from the outside this mall looked much, much bigger FWR. The longest of my mall dreams was in one that was so insanely huge it was rediculous. At one part I actually found one of the exits, but outside the mall was nothing but an endless green field. Just grass, stretching off in all directions. I remember that apparently I had like 10 bucks that I was supposed to use to go see a movie and apparently my mom would be mad at me if i didn't go see it or something (this dream was a good 8 months ago...) Anyway, I made my way around the outside of the mall looking for another way in, and I found a secret door on the ground of the ield and went in down a short flight of stairs into this small metal room. There were like 5 people in here and all were doing heroin or crack or simply smoking things I identified as illegal. I think there was also someone getting stabbed O_o either way, I wen into the theater and watched the movie and then ended up back in the mall afterward. I think I can safely conclude that I hate all my dreams. They are always horrifying. Either way, I have 2 more memorable recurring dreams that I will bring up next time, assuming I don't have a crazy dream again tonight...
