Band: Tool Song: Disgustipated Album: Undertow This song is pretty nifty and far beyond trippy. It starts off slow with the sounds of sheep and this strange knocking. Then Maynard starts giving a speech and it sounds like it?s over a megaphone and it?s freaking hilarious cause he?s pretending to be a preacher and is saying that the lord showed him that the carrots will soon experience holocaust on harvest day and that they need to save their brothers (?damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Lemme get an amen!?) The rest is some really interesting instrumentation, especially with the percussion and cool effects. I could do without the 7 minutes of crickets chirping that comes afterward though >_< Band: Opeth Song: Windowpanes (Live) Album: Lamentations This is a little strange because Lamentations is meant to be only a DVD. When I bought this Opeth CD box set, though, apparently it was a cheaply made collection with a bootleg CD rip or something. In any event, this is probably my favorite Opeth song period, and it is bloody awesome in every way. If you don?t listen to it, you?re robbing yourself of an enriching experience. Also, they sound just as good live as on the CD. Band: Gorillaz Song: Tomorrow Comes Today Album: Gorillaz One of the best songs from the first album. I like the chill atmosphere and just overall good production. It?s got a great feel of emotion from when the violins kick in. Very somber and mellow but still with a good beat. Band: Agalloch Song: A Desolation Song Album: The Mantle This song is simply utterly beautiful. It?s what got me into Agalloch, and it will always be one of the saddest songs ever written to me. When I listen to this song, I can?t smile - it makes me think of sad memories and I think I?ve cried during it before. Simply an incredibly sad, pretty song - with an accordion! Band: The Mars Volta Song: Cygnus?Vismund Cygnus Album: Frances The Mute 13 minutes of awesome. Really, I can?t even explain it, it?s just something you have to experience for yourself. Band: The Mars Volta Song: L?via L?viaquez Album: Frances the Mute See above. Also, lots of nifty Spanish lyrics that I memorized. The song that essentially got me into the mars volta Band: Agalloch Song: I Am The Wooden Doors Album: The Mantle For some reason, I have some kind of grudge against this song. It?s not a bad song by any means, in fact it?s pretty cool. There?s just something about it that feels off to me. It?s something about the guitars, especially at the beginning, that bothers the hell out of me. If I can get past that, though, it?s a pretty cool song and probably one of Agalloch?s heaviest. Band: Rush Song: Limelight Album: Moving Pictures This song is both classic and awesome. The lyrics are deep, the playing is, well, it?s freaking Rush. You know it?s a masterpiece. One day, I want to do a cover of this song. Band: Ayreon Song: Day Seven: Hope Album: The Human Equation One of the more lighthearted and fun tracks on the album and one of my favorites. This song always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and fills me with emotion. When he says ?you are free? come back to me? it?s like an audio hug (whatever the hell that means). I just love this damn song. Band: The Mars Volta Song: Vermicide Album: Amputechture This song is interesting in that it is one of TMV?s shortest and least obscure tracks. IMO, it is seeping with coolness. It?s not really one of my favorites of theirs, but it?s got a the kind of cool you?d get from being James Bond. Just all-around cool. Band: Red Sparrowes Song: Alone and Unaware, the Landscape was Transformed in Front of our Eyes Album: At the Soundless Dawn Probably my favorite song by the Isis side-project post-rock band Red Sparrowes. Their music is pretty good, but it just doesn?t have the same kind of impact as Isis or Mogwai and the like. Still, a really cool song. The first 2 minutes alone convinced me to buy the album when I was first getting into post-rock. Band: Opeth Song: Dirge For November Album: Blackwater Park My favorite off the album, which is interesting because it?s kind of the odd-ball. I guess that makes sense since I?m not a terribly big fan of the album, but I do love this song. It?s epic, it has the perfect mix of totally calm and totally heavy for me, not to mention the heavy part is less about being overly dark and consuming, and just really sounds good. I think this song has the most deep feeling of the songs on the album, even in the lyrics. Plus, the vocals have the most impact in this song. The only problem I has is the less-than-seamless transition from heavy to soft at the end. Band: Rush Song: The Trees Album: Hemispheres BEST SONG EVER!!!! Band: Isis Song: Holy Tears Album: In the Absence of Truth The problem with this song is that there is another song on the album that has similar parts to this one, so they always get mixed up in my head, loosening either?s impact. Not to say that it isn?t a good song - the entire album is pretty damn cool, this just isn?t a particularly stand-out piece compared to others on the album. Band: Coheed And Cambria Song: The Light & The Glass Album: In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 Okay, first let me get it out of the way that this is one of my favorite songs of all time. This song is oddly paced in that the first 4 minutes or so are a complete ballad, and even up to almost 6 minutes in, it?s basically a soft, slow song. But then it suddenly builds to become faster and climaxes in an ultimate epic solo-choir singing-emotional, awesome huge ending. I love this entire song for every reason there is, and the ending has a sense of finality that inspires and almost makes you disappointed that you didn?t fall asleep right at that moment. There was once a time when I related wholeheartedly to the lyrics and would cry to this song, but that is long passed. Even now, though, I can scream the lyrics with passion and love it wholly. Truly, I would consider this a lost masterpiece. I thank Claudio Sanchez? genius is underappreciated.

I'd hate that idea. Otakupedia is for important OB things, whereas the newspaper is for surrent events. It's not like every little thing that happens on OB neds to be an article. for example, I wanted to see BKStyles do an article about my rp the Panopticon, but for the Otakupedia, it should be about the whole death-card series. Sometimes, things in the newspaper might become otakupedia articles - such as the member-of-the-month for each month and so forth, but for the most part I think they'd be better as seperate entities. Another example - i recently submitted an article for caption contest VI. Now which would be better, an otakupedia article about the rather uneventful 6th installment, or of the entire series in general? In a way, I think otakupedia should be the box set for the newspaper articles. If you're sad about loosing people's interest in otakupedia for the newspaper look at it this way - only 3 or 4 people are even writing for the paper at this moment, and I know I fully intend on doing otakupedia articles in the future. I intend to do the death card trilogy the moment my Panop after-party is over.
I've got a question DB, is there a regular collage that we could go to? I mean like Yale or somehing like that.
I don't think that would really work, seing as how the commute would be crazy. Like I said, this place is out in the middle of nowhere. To train for esperism (yes, I coined that just now) you must have full dedication.

Alrighty! I decided it would probably be a good idea to open up the underground a bit before the main thread to get the conversation going, so to speak. Anything you have to say, here's where to say it, I guess. Also, I need to post this all-important term list. Esper Jam! Terminology Esper: As previously explained, an esper is one who manipulates reality using their mind. Esper Hall: A secluded community full of espers. Espers live there and learn how to master their abilities along with other espers. Mages: An incredibly powerful esper is known as a mage. You won?t find any of them on earth usually, but when they are around it tends to be a big deal. Even to most espers, they are nothing more than legend, and most are said to be immortal. God: While espers come from all religious practices, many of them believe god to be the ultimate esper. When one of the more powerful espers references god, they usually speak of him in this sense. ?That Bastard:? Many of the espers refer to their leader as ?that bastard.? This is because the leader, a 63 year old hothead, considers himself to be some sort of messenger of god. He tries to rally people about, and he always makes overblown promises to try and gain support. Most of the espers ignore him entirely, though there are a few who actually follow him. Classes: While Esper Hall is not a school, a lot of people think of it as one. With permission from the higher-ups, members of the community are aloud to hold ?classes? to as many students as they want to teach a specific technique. Many students like this method as it is a more organized and quick way of learning, but it is also more difficult and brings along a school mentality. The Bus: Esper Hall is in the middle of nowhere and no one is sure why. Because no one wants to have to drive to and from the city, most people rarely leave Esper Hall. The most popular form of transit to and fro is the community bus. The bus goes out every Saturday morning on a food run and takes anyone heading into town along with it. Anyone who stays out past 11 PM is on their own in getting back to Esper Hall. Clubs: There are all sorts of clubs in Esper hall just like a high school or college would have. Their times, activities, and general information are all up to the group itself.
Aw, man, don't do it just for the grades. Why let ulterior motives sully the noble goal of getting in your teacher's pants? ~Dagger~
you know, as someone who's seen tons of anime and thereby seen more fair share of student/teacher relationships, I half expected you to have some real advice, Dagger :p -
Give her an apple with some estrogen. the hormoans will fly!
I can't figure out if you were trying to write 'hormones' or 'whoremoans'. Either way, funny as hell. Anywho, I have no way to advise you. I can't even pick up girls who are in my class, much less the teacher XD -
I just got the big box!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! The artwork is simply amazing, like Dagger explained - i was giddy as I sifted throught the bonus contents! I watched the first 3 episodes dubbed with my little brothers (couldn't get to the 4th) and it's interesting... Firstly, I thought Haruhi's voice was pretty annoying. Ther were several times when I cringed at it, namely when she first said 'the SOS Brigade'. I also realised she had the same voice as Black Rose who I could never tolerate >_> Kyon's was good at times and not as good at others. I don't think he quite captured the boredness of Kyon, and I think he sounded a little too old as Kyon's voice. Still, not bad. I didn't mind Yuki or Mikuru. Yuki's always deadpan and Mikuru's always squeaky - it matches up. I was so happy to see Tsukasa's voice actor appear since he's one of my favorites ^_^ I haven't checked out the DVD extras yet, but I'm liking the harehareyukai disk and the hair thing which i fully intend on wearing XD.

Your first poem looks like your being all smart and stuff for once, lol. I kinda like it. :p As for nuber 2, I wrote this EXACT poem back when I was writing poetry all the time. It's funny, I've always compared your progress to my own, and this seems to prove it, lol. As for if it's good, no. Words without meaning are WORTHLESS!!!!! HAHAHA!
I never study or take notes. I find that they are useless. And if you study for a big test you usually bomb because your nervous. I've never ever ever studied, yet I'm on the honor roll almost every marking period.
This is somewhat true for me, but not entirely. I find that with a subject like Japanese it is important to study, and in a math class you need to make sure you know the formulas and stuff (obviously why these are my two worst classes, lol) as well as in science it probably wouldn't help to make sure you know the terms and stuff. I never study period, which is more dangerous than not, but oh well. I find it hilarious when I get a spelling test full of words I haven't even seen yet and still pass :p

1. English. On my 3rd quarter report card I had a 99% A! (on my 4th I had a 53% E (yes we have E instead of F) cuz I did none of the work >_>). everyone in my class always looked to me for answers on everything and seemed to think I was some kind of genius. It helped that the class was full of idiots and 3/4 or so either failed or just barely skimmed by. My felloe students sometimes complained that I made things more complicated because sometimes my teacher and I would end up in a sort of conversation that no one else could understand, lol. Like once we started on about the relativity of the concept of time and everyone else was falling asleep XD I don't really try at all to excel in English. As you can all see here on Otakuboards, when I get a topic I can go on and on about it for damn near eternity, so naturally I always had big long papers even when unnecessary. It was funy, too, because a lot of times I purposefully changed the subject in my writing simply because I knew I could do whatever I wanted in that class and pass with flying colors. I never took notes or anything - I'd just go to sleep when it was time to. I slept through my last 4 English classes, lol. 2. Geometry or snything math. It's funny, when I was in 7th grade I took pre-algebra and excelled, but when i got into 8th grade I sucked so bad at algebra they dropped me back into pre. In 9th grade I passed algebra with all ds. This year I took Geometry - the minimum grade for pasing here is a 70 and I passed with a 70.5 for the year :animeswea VERY CLOSE!!!! I also suck pretty bad at japanese...

Another cool one might be Bed of Roses by MSI. I'd love for this to be playing in a club scene or when I come out packing guns ready for a shootout. The industrial feel is great for battle scenes and such, plus the lyrics kick. Oromis Tu'Wail Brittany Cossentine Delilah Rousseau Mary Withers Etamet Delita Lytle (With the Eternal Onlooker's mind in her body) Each one of us has to post once before the killing can begin. And by each I do mean everyone, including SunfallE since even though she doesn't have a death card, she does have a card to be played. Do I have it right DB?
yes. Okay then. Final descision - sandy, the card I gave you is repealed, you get a death card, we're keeping the big post because it took me a log *** ****** time to type it, I like it, and god damn it, that's good enough for me :o I'm going to edit in a fourth person like Sunfall sugested, meaning someone will have 2. As soon as there have five posts you fize with death cards will get to string the ****ing organs of everyone in your path over the ceilings like a fresco of death and I'll laugh maniacally as the the finality of conclusion explodes into being. Afterward we'll have punch and pie, vote for our favortie moments and such, hand out some golden death cards, laugh, carry on, and I can get the Golden Imprisonment card for worst host ever XD now LETS GO!!!!!!!!! EDIT: Delilah Rousseau. Have fun. -
I've already resigned myself to not killing. Just revive one of mine, I don't care if the others know, Katar would do since people would want him dead anyway. Though if you do that and I have no death card...Then I say Sandy shouldn't get special cards like I did. :p Though he'd get a death card and we'd have to wait for everyone to post once before killing like you mentioned DB. After all I'd need time to use my card and mess with everyone before the killing began. lol
>_< Sandy? Your opinion?
I'm not pissed off, just disappointed, DB. :/ Your management of this final chapter seems so... illogical. I didn't have any characters left either, yet you brought mine alive and not Sunfall's? Also, having a character yet not a Death Card is as good as nothing. Why would anybody let my character live if their's was still alive? Sigh... I hope you redo the starting post of this chapter, from the scratch. It's overly long, overly dominating to the story and has a confusing construction. Just think of a way that all of us few remaining players could still be involved with it, okay?
:animesigh I changed my mind. I've been relaoding Who's Online for 5 minutes crying over how there was no way you were going to accept it >_< Now I want to see what Rach thinks, and besides I haven't even heard from Allamorph or Sandy... they could both be totally pissed as well T_T -
I'd say simply allow SunfallE to post along with the rest of us, but you've already confirmed that she has no characters left. It probably isn't a big hindrance, but it does take away a bit. The way you portrayed the characters i'm sure is the least of the concerns atm, especially since it has happened before. The big point here is to make this last round worth all of our time. That's your job as a host. The simplest thing to do would be to award Sandy and SunfallE two special cards so they can mess around with the other characters without having death cards so they feel involved. If you don't feel as if you have enough time, i'll gladly PM you some ideas. But in any case, we should all be allowed to post regardless of who has characters.
Alright, I'm fine with this idea - Sunfall, is there any chance you're willing to go with this, or it it too late? -

:animesigh as far as the character sheet goes, I just mixed them all up and posted them, but I never thought to keep up with who was who's. For CH3 I found all the pms, put all the names next to their owners and PMed it to myself. Every time a charcter died i erased the name and PMed it back. As for the sex thing... argh... see, as I said before, sex and stuff means nothing to me. You act like it's some hideous taboo or something -- people have sex, people masturbate, it's human nature. I think it fits perfectly to Delita's character to have wanted to try it once, and I think it's perfectly logical that anyone who's that ****ing bored is gunna go for it. (BTW I left it totally ambiguous, but in my mind, Brittany was doing it as well.) I need to take a class in sociality or something.... Also, rach, yes it's true, in the past 2 years i have neevr written any story that didn't involve sex at some point, swear to god. -
DB, my biggest beef is that you keep changing your mind on how you're going to do things, that and I won't even get started on the post for this chapter. >_< Don't get me wrong it's been fun, but as a host...you've annoyed the hell out of me far too often. And yeah I assume that means you do not want me to post in the final round. Which is fine, I already knew I lost once you screwed over two of my characters. Duh.
I didn't have any plans whatsoever going into any single part of this rp. I couldn't figure out how to do this last chapter in a way that made sense, so for once, I actually did what indifference suggested, more or less (revive 2, give 4 death cards). I can see why you would be pissed at me. Actually, if i'd known they were both yours, I wouldn't have done that. Until Ch 3 I had no idea who belonged to who, so I prolly ****** up in that respect more times tha I'd like to admit >_> i honestly don't think you can totally blame me, since if it weren't for a certain card Lucia would prolly still be around, and that was totally at te whim of Rach in choosing you, and even then, he didn't choose your character exactly. I don't think I'm too blame for her death at all, nor Katar's, obviously. And besides, it's not like i'm the one who killed Sastasha -- hell, your characters lasted pretty damn long. I don't know why you think I screwed them over. -
Yeah, I don't like the One Piece dub theme, but I think there are worse ones. The YuGiOh dub theme song though. Wow, it's horrendous. It's just the music with the words 'YuGiOh' thrown in every so often along with 'It's time to duel'. And the only thing that changed with each different season were the scenes in the opening, while the music stayed exactly the same.
