1. Oi there! due to the facts that hidamari sketch subs are produced slower than a car running on zero, I figure it's time for a new sig for a show that I've been getting into lately, and one that's dark... Darker Than Black, that is. I would like this banner to feature the star of this show, hei with his mask on. Finding pics was unreally hard for me, and i could only find This So if you can find a cooler one of him wearing the mask, by all means use it. As for the banner and avatar themselves, all i care is that they are very dark and cool looking. I wouldn't want to limit yall's awesome capabilities. On the avatar there should be no text, while the banner should have 21st Century Digital Boy in small but cool looking white font in the bottom corner. thanks in advance to whoever can do it!
2.
Most minors that smoke are influenced by friends, not movies or television. You can't blame everything on Hollywood. ;)
:animesmil Exactly. They learn it from their friends who learn it from their friends and their friends and those guys learned it from their abusive parents who they wanted to piss off by turning to a life of alcohol and drugs. Next thing you know the whole group is smoking, drinking, getting high every day and listening to Marylin Manson XD. (not blaming Manson; it's not him that leads to drugs, it's drugs that lead to him.)
3. vicky, your post made it seem like the Augustine are very aware of the Nicodemus rebellion, and i figured they's probably have some people sent out to dispatch of certain groups. I figure the group I noted was cought very unexpecting, but then the vampire could've never guessed he'd run into another more powerful than himself (or at the very least, more cunning) If I'm making my character seem to strong, please tell me. I know I made her get hurt a little, but I figure if she could bring down a baddie a room of rebels couldn't, she might be too tough. We could always assume the group was week and that the opponent underestimated her, though. i don't really know how we're guaging the vampires' power. i figured that since the wee one was easily able to tear the heads off of that one group, then there is an obvious hierchy of power among the vamps. I'd like to think that Josephine is very powerful, but wouldn't be able to slaughter a group of high-powered vamps or anything. your the boss, i'll let you advise.
4. 1. The Mirror - Pearls And Brass One of my favorite P&B tracks. the riffs are just spectacular, and the entire song radiates of awesome. 2. From Sinking - Isis Also one of my favorite Isis tracks. This was the first song I ever heard by the band and it remains among my favorite. 3. Points of Authority - Linkin Park I like this version of the song more, though the remix has probably the coolest music video that ever existed. Come to think of it, why haven't i posted that yet?! 4. The Suffering - Coheed And Cambria One of the better tracks off of GAIBS4, and has a very strange video. Catchy and nifty. 5. Odal - Agalloch Not my favorite Agalloch song, but one of the first I ever heard. You really need a player with plenty of bass to do this song true justice. 6. Junesong Provision - Coheed and Cambria One of the staples that nearly coat their first album. not their best but damn good. 7. Ticks & Leeches - Tool one of Tool's signature 'angry tracks' as I like to call them. Oddly enough, no cuss words in it though. Prolly to stay in line with the rest of the album. The echoing of his voice when he screams 'suuuuuuucking meeeee dryyy!!!' sounds awesome. 8. Dirty Harry - Gorillaz I can't say anything about this song without busting into rap. 9. Homecoming - Green day One of the albums that helped get me into listen, and I'd say I listened to it a good couple hundred times back when I was into it. not a bad album, though i've come a long way from that now. 10. Suite Pee - System of a Down Not their best album or song, but still a rockin track that I can headbang to. Do to my moms obsession with this band, I've probably heard it more times than I ever needed to, but it's still cool. 11. The Trees - Rush There is unrest in the forest, there is trouble with the trees, for the maples want more sunlight, and the oaks ignore their pleas. See the trouble with the maples (and their quite convinced their right) they say the oaks are just too lofty, and they grab up all the light. But the oaks can't help their feeling; if they like the way their made, and they wonder why the maples can't be happy in their shade. 12. Bat Country - Avenged Sevenfold Prolly my favorite song by this band. i don't care what anyone says, this is a totally kickass album and song. 13. Miranda, this Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore - The Mars Volta the least best of the greatest album of all time, but no part of this album could ever be considered flawed in my eyes. Everythings eternally perfect. 14. Angry Inch - Type O Negative One of their coool short tracks and a cover from Hedwig and the Angry Inch. 15. Facing the Plastic (Mindless self Indulgence remix) - Serart Serj Tankian of SOAD's amazing solo project, and a remix by MSI. i don't care who you are, Serart deserves your attention. So i used a series of strange methods with my computer and CD collection to somehow concoct this list. It's prolly a bit closer to the stuff I've listened to more, though a few songs get little attention these days. Not a bad list by any means.
5. I like it when my movie characters smoke, and yes I do think it makes them look cool. I even make my characters smoke sometimes for the same effect? Do I smoke? Hell no. do I even remotely believe that seeing TV characters smoke is what makes teens do it? Again, no. Teens smoke because they are bastards. In fast, it's crap like this that makes teens want to smoke. high five for corporate america.
6.
I'll be signing up as well. I just need to look up some majorly cool pictures for profiles... Hope you don't mind a brief delay. I'm happy that you got this started so quickly.
I was happy to start it quickly, lol. I was really bloody bored. Hopefully it will go better for you this round. Also, don't make your charactres too cool or they'll stand out XD naw, but for reals I use photobucket to find pics. just type in generic terms ('anime black' or something) and you get tons of results.
7. Kelly and Josephine stalked along the dark rooftops of London. They were careful as they dashed across the tops of buildings and leapt from roof to roof. The shadows hid them well in the dark night, the new moon shrouding the sky in darkness with the help of thick, rolling clouds. Eventually the pair were standing on a roof?s edge over an alleyway when Kelly stopped. His eyes scoured the corridor between buildings and was wary of any guards on the outside streets. It looked safe. ?Come along,? The two very careful to land lightly as they jumped from the roof into the alleyway below. Quietly, Kelly stalked backward through the passage, approaching a large metal door. Carefully and softly, he used the secret knock he?d learned to get in. Suddenly the door burst open, knocking Kelly sprawling backward. Josephine immediately jumped back, catching the hoarse scent of blood. The Frenchman slowly rose to his feet to see that the door he?d opened was splattered freshly with a blood. A dark silhouette formed in the doorway. His featured became apparent as he stepped forward into the night. The man before them was tall with a slight build and long black hair. He was dressed in all black with a leather jacket and wore an insidious smile. He was covered in blood, and one could easily see that the room he had emerged from was simply bathed in gore. The man?s head reared toward Josephine with it?s demented gaze. She took a defensive stance, expecting an attack to come at any second, but instead the vampire whipped around at lightning speed straight toward the Frenchman. Kelly had no time to react - he was too stricken with fear. The vampire immediately impaled him clear through the chest. His arm emerged from the Frenchman?s back holding his heart. The vampire?s cold grip crushed his heart before being pulled from Kelly?s chest. Kelly fell to the ground limply as his chest exploded with blood. The crimson pools poured out onto the concrete surface of the city. Josephine stared, aghast, as the beast turned it?s head toward her. It could sense her fear. It saw her defense weakening. With the same extreme swiftness it had used to take Kelly?s life, it charged at Josephine with a twirling punch. Josephine reacted just in time by jumping backward, though she still took a light blow to the stomach. The enemy was quick to attack but more, slashing at her with his beastly claws. Josephine?s dress was torn open across her torso. The second it was, though, she quickly delivered a kick to the side of the vampire?s head, knocking him off-balance to the left. Before he could recover, she delivered an axe-kick on the back of his skull, knocking him to the ground. Josephine lunged at the vampire on the ground, ready to impale him in return for Kelly, but the long-haired creature rolled out of the way just in time. Josephine stumbled a little but quickly caught her footing. For a brief second there was a sense of a stalemate as the vampire leapt to his feet and faced the young Nicodemus woman both in battle-ready stances. Josephine?s breath was heavy. She stared the opponent down, fully ready to pounce and counter any attack. The tension was boiling, though the cool night washed over the fighter?s bodies. The wind graced Josephine?s chest where her dress had been torn open. The breeze brought a chill over her exposed breast. She ignored the cold, though, putting all of her intent into making the vampire before her die. She didn?t intend on letting him escape -- one of them was going to die here in this alleyway. She needed to act quickly. Putting all of her strength into one motion, Josephine leapt forward like a bullet launching herself at the opposing vampire. Seeing his opportunity, the dark figure moved his arm soaring through the air hoping to tear the girl?s head off. His claws only carved into the thickness of the night, though, as it soared just over Josephine?s head. The girl had ducked just in front of her opponent, and before he could blink she jumped into him, burying both hands deep in his chest. For a moment the pair of vampires were frozen still in the moment. Josephine pulled backward and the other vampire?s blood spurted quickly onto her before he fell over. The room from which the beast had emerged was a mess of blood, organs, and body parts where torn-apart corpses sat about in all places. The terrified expressions on several flayed or decapitated faces stared back at Josephine. Immediately after stepping into the room, she vomited. The vampire she had identified as an Augustine had made quick work of this particular resistance faction. There were shredded documents strewn about, though a large eraser board with only a few blood splatters was still readable in places. There was something about Drigg arriving and nuclear material. Josephine took everything in and took special consideration in memorizing the location. Whatever was going down, she was planning to be there. Josephine vomited again before the could full leave the room, only to have to face the corpse of Kelly, who had only tried to help her. Her body was covered in blood and her dress was torn open. She looked like the victim of some kind of rape and murder case. She needed to get out of here quickly. If anyone found her here it would take no time at all for her arrest. --- Josephine stumbled through the doors of the Big Ben clock tower a bloody mess. Sneaking her way back here had been arduous and now she was stepping into this place covered in blood and vomit, her dress in tatters. She fell to the ground and passed out immediately right in front of a room full of her Nicodemus brethren. Josephine awoke someplace entirely different. As her eyes slowly opened, she found herself lying in a warm bath, the blood already having been washed off. Parts of her body were sore, but she felt in heaven in the warm water. ?So your finally awake!? A voice said from her right. Josephine slowly turned to see a young girl at the side of the tub. The girl looked to be no older than 14. She had a petite form and short black hair which fell about her shoulders. She was wearing a small black t-shirt and large black cargo pants. She smiled at the older girl who she?d apparently been taking care of. ?I don?t know what happened to you back there, but you?re okay now!? The girl assured her in a high-pitched voice. Josephine still felt half-asleep, but she was grateful. ?Thank you??
8.
Eh, why not. If you don't mind a labyrinth veteran but a non-maze participant joining, i'll send you some profiles soon. I am curious to see how things go with a different cast of people then those who were in Labyrinth (different for the most part since i'm positive at least 3 of the originals won't be signing up for this, and if most from the Maze sign up then that will be ample :P).
I'd be more than happy to have some Labyrinth participants! I don't know how the Labyrinth worked, having only been in The Maze, but seeing as how my game will be far diffrent from the Maze, it won't matter which you participated in. Glad to have you in the game!
9. damn you Mr. Maul! I was so happy having finally not lost this godawful game and you had to go and revive it! Now I loose. Thanks a lot.
10.
Yay, this is already up! ;D If I understand correctly, you're not going to eliminate the players who have lost their characters. Noble as such, but you will end up having problems with that, since eventually there will be an excessive amount of Death Cards in comparison to characters (meaning no one will survive). I suck at maths, but I'm pretty sure that's what is going to happen. That's also the reason for the extra characters made by the host of the game - they keep the balance. But I'm sure you'll work it out. ;D
Don't worry, there's some of my secret cards that'll take care of that :catgirl: Everything should work out fine. The only thing I'm waiting for is enough sign-ups and this thing will take off as-planned in 10 days...
11. "Morals reformed - health preserved - industry invigorated - instruction diffused - public burdens lightened - Economy seated, as it were, upon a rock - the Gordian knot of the poor law not cut, but untied - all by a simple idea in Architecture!" - Jeremy Bentham, 1787, ?The Panopticon Letters? An explosion - a massive catastrophic eruption unparalleled in any vision of human imagination radiated as a wave through a space and time far beyond any known to man. A cacophony so immense that no sound could be heard - only an infinite silence that tore the very soul of the surrounding cosmos from it?s being. The words of one man from a time long forgotten were the spark that set it off, and now the dissonance of infinite space quelled it to a whisper. Beings of life no longer existed in the universe. All had perished long ago. Their last hope was to find out how they had made this mistake. They needed to find a way to survive even after all were wiped out. The last effort was to place all of their knowledge into one entity. A machine. The Maze. For countless eons it went on retrieving subjects from all of the universe?s history. Sentient beings of all kinds were pulled in and none would survive. The deaths they suffered were brutal and most went insane before their own death. Whether their intentions were good or evil all fell before the Maze. The final survivor chose to finally destroy the Maze. The last human alive erased sentient life from existence. The universe is not a linear space, though. The Maze was destroyed, but the universe remembered it. The fragmented memory of the Maze still exists in the far reaches of the galaxy. The knowledge of man - the ideals of a perfect perpetual existence -- the Panopticon. --- The Panopticon is the third in a series of games that follow a style similar to a randomly-generated dungeon - only one that you control. The Labyrinth, created by Sandy, and The Maze, created by Rachmaninoff, are the originals, and both a good read if you?re looking to check them out. As you can see, this is a direct sequel to The Maze, though you don?t have to be a participant of either of the first games to join this one. So here?s how the game works. Each contestant, that?s you, creates 3 generic characters (details below) which you will send to me. Your characters are to be kept secret from all other competitors. Your goal is for one or more of your characters to survive the entirety of the game. The game will last several rounds, and in each round, each of the contestants will receive a Death Card. This will allow you to kill one of the other?s players characters of your choice. You can kill them however you please - through traps, murder, monster attacks, implosion, rape, whatever poison (oh! Poison, too) you choose. Each player will be issued one death card per round, though in certain situations you may not be able to use them until certain criteria are met. I will not be able to use death cards, though I will have 3 characters of my own inserted into the game. However, I will be reviving one character at the end of each round. Because of the life cards, no player is out of the game even if all 3 of their characters are dead. Everyone plays till the very end and even players with no remaining characters will be given Death Cards. When you use your death card, you will post it next to the character?s picture like this: And I will do the same when I revive characters at the end of the round: There will also be a plethora of other cards with unique effects that will come into play later in the game. Some will be given in secret by PM, while others might be given to everyone all at once in the thread. I assure you that, while I have brought back some of the cards from the previous game, there are some fresh new ones you?ll never see coming. Anything is possible in the maze. There are no set guidelines other than what?s above - you can put these characters through whatever you want whenever you want. The only thing they cannot find is the exit. Whether they travel with others or go it alone is all up to you, and how much they suffer will be your doing. Just remember that there?s always a bunch of other players with the same amount of power. --- And now for the sign up. Each of you will use this form to create 3 characters who you will send to me via PM. Remember, it is important that NO ONE expect for you and me knows who your characters are. After you send me the message, post in this thread to confirm that you sent the message and I will tell you if you are admitted. Picture: The only requirements are that it is not a real picture, and that it is 100x100 pixels. You are required to have a picture, of if you are unable to have one, or don?t know how to shrink it to 100x100, I can make it for you, just send me the image. I will be putting my own border on all images so that they look the same. Name: Whatever you like. Age: Any age from a child to an old dude. Gender: Some of these anime characters it?s hard to tell. Specify here. Origin/Race: They can be from anywhere in the universe and any point in time. The only requirement is that they are humanoid - I will not accept dragons, monsters, angels, demons, or any of that stuff. Elves or even dwarves or undead are perfectly acceptable, but no orcs or trolls or things like that. Occupation: Their job. It is advised that you make your description brief, and if any stand out as especially long compared to others, I will chop them down for you. Any questions about signing up I will happily answer here. Signups will be open for 10 days.
12.
You're free to do that, and here you have at least one guaranteed player. ;D Just be sure to make it at least somewhat different from Labyrinth and Maze, maybe define the setting even more. Just so that we won't end up playing the exact same game all over again.
:animeshy: Thank you for such kind permission and advice! i have so many ideas and stuff I want to implement! You can probably expect to see it by the end of next week (or, knowing me, in a couple of days if I'm not lazy about it, lol.) just gotta organize it all and do the graphics and type the info, and set up the game, and prep the cards and do everything XD. Like I said, though, I'll try not to post it till after exams, (not that I study for them or anything, but I don't want there to end up players who can't post like poor Darren) Though I suppose with the break between sign-ups and the thread actually starting, there could be some space for me to do it early. OMG I've got so many ideas i might just have to start writing them down before some get left behind!
13. When I saw 'We WON!' on the front page, I didn't know what to expect. Did OB win some kind of site competition? Did we pull out of Iraq? Is gay marriage legal? honestly, I have no idea what an Academic Decathalon is, but still, congratulations and good luck. As for is I've ever gone national, no. I don't do anything :animesigh
14.
Sigh, I miss this game already... :/ What do you guys think, if there was going to be a similar RPG to this and Labyrinth in the future, should it last longer than three rounds? What other suggestions would you have for it? How many players/characters would be too many, for example? What kind of new cards would you add to the game? Do share your opinions, because who knows, I (or someone else) just might continue the series... ;D
I miss it too, lol! The style was just too great, and I love the freedom it offers which most RPs don't come close to. I think it would be wrong to talk about what kinds of card and twists we'd like to see, though. After all, if you start the game with our ideas, we'd already see them coming. As for if one of us started the next one, it would be a spoiler if we showed our cards now :p I think I would stop it at 3 characters per person. If it's a game like this one where there were only 6 people, than it would be interesting to see more players for them to control. this would also require more chapters as well as... well, a whole slew of ideas I've come up with :catgirl: I had thought that everyone else would want to wait a while for the next, seeing as how the Labyrinth and the Maze were so far apart, but if you guys really want another one, I totally call dibs on creating it! Also, I think I know of a player or two who regretted missing the last one. It would probably be a better idea to wait till after exams, though. for many people's sake.
15. 2) Half-baked plan I call that one!
16. Well, when I was 2 and a year later when I was 3 I toured with Lallapalooza, so technically my first concerts were far before I can even remember. (My parents were working one of the stands. I actually have some very vague memories... and I got to hang out with Green Day :p ) The first one i went to while being able to understand my environment, though, was when I was 10 (10th b-Day in fact). It was the Big Day Off-fest (5 bands in the middle of Ozzfest stop to do another show). Twas Slipknot headlining, with Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, and Mudvayne. I didn't care about those last two, nor Papa Roach all that much, I reallt just wanted to see Linkin Park. My cousin, who was 13 and my best friend at the time, was there also, and he wanted to see Slipknot. I got new clothes, and went to the extreme - i wanted to have spikey blue hair. so i actually got my hair cut and bleached, just so that i could through some gel in that turned my hair blue and spikey. I looked cool as hell, and adorable, and got tons of compliments, lol. It was a great concert, and Slipknot was bloody amazing. with 9 people, they can really do whatever they want, lol.tons of flashiness, those awesome drumkits, the giant 666 lights and stuff, not to mention the guys jumping off 9 foot amps and running around the walkways of the place (it was an ampitheater, so the security was all pissed) it was generally cool. I didn't stand the whole time, in fact as one point i got so tired I was sitting with my ears covered, but somehow managed to still be having fun, lol. Good stuff.
17. :O Lotta strong points for evolution! Scientists +1, Religion -1. *high fives Tom Cruise, then smacks him for being Tom Cruise* I think I stand by the idea that the macro- and micro-evolution stuff is a bunch of bull, and that evolution in any form should be considered a breakthrough as well as a substantial point toward evolution. how can you go about attesting 'micro-evolutions' to god, just because you see proof, and yet be closed minded toward the existence of larger-scale evolution? That's just called trying to fake open-mindedness and spin everything to look like it fits on your side. EDIT: This was before Des' post, though :catgirl:
18. Wether it's because of me listening to Anti-flag and Bad Religion the last couple days, or just my general rebelliousness, this is what I ended up with for today. In any event I see all these things as interesting and cool to think about, but nothing more. I'd prefer not to come to any drastic results with this. Debates are founded on just such opinions, lol. just... interesting...
20. Allamorph, friend, I feel your pain. I suffer from writers block from time to time... it sucks ***. It's like, you've got this story and there's so many things you like about it, it's going well, everything's fine, then BAM, you can't even figure out how the next damn sentence is going to look. Usually i end up sitting there for an hour staring at my computer screen then get a sudden craving to eat unholy amounts of food. I agree that sometimes writing other things can help, but not always. For example, I was recently working on a novel idea. Then I couldn't think of what to do next. So then I turned to writing poems. 2 weeks and an Anthology full of poems later, and I still haven't come up with anything for my damn story! And now, I've even run out of ideas for poems since all of them are about the same thing >_< I think it's silly to say that Writer's Block is not real; but it is curable. It's not like Allamorph said that he was suffering so much and it will never go away and he should just give up writing or some such drama. He just said 'it sucks' and, well, it does.
21.
Haha! I know, it's weird, but it makes sense if you know the story that the lyrics are telling. And you know you couldn't help but smile at parts of that song :D
Except, you know, he was singing in a language I don't even begin to know, lol. It wasn't a bad song, though, guy's got a good screaming voice at least. I laughed my face off -- then I went and bought the CD :p This video of Dave Davison (I know right!) from Maps And Atlases playing their song The Ongoing Horrible is simply amazing just seeing how this song is played. Freaking unbelievable. Mogwai's Travel Is Dangerous will be right up your alley for all you post-rock boys, plus the video is creative and interesting. Then there's also Hunted By A Freak which is creepy. Edit: Be warned, this one contains some blood and supurfluous cuss words, but the video is strong. 22.
Sure thing. I'll be posting a post for myself anyway in five hours, so I need a post after mine to start the new chapter. Take your time =)
>_< sorry, looks like I beat my own alloted time. I'll be sure to post again between yours, though, if no one else does first. I only have one question - should I tone down the cussing, or am I cool?
23. ?We don?t need them! Fuck this whole government, you know? Who else is gunna put the stop to S.O.L.F?!? ?Dude, your acting like a damn idiot. Yeah, a group of fuckin? unorganized Nicomedus who aren?t even willing to show themselves out to humans gunna rise up. Right. Listen to yourself! You?re so desperate, get out there and make a damn difference already!? ?You know what? I might just walk right into that royal palace and do just that. How do you like that idea?!? ?I think it?s a stupid ass idea and that you, my dear man, are a stupid ass!? ?Fuck you!? Josephine woke up slowly, taking a moment to recall exactly where she was as her consciousness gradually returned. Across the large room where there were several groups of people talking amongst themselves there were two young men in the middle of heated argument. The more aggressive man stormed off in a fit of defiant rage while the other who he had been speaking to sat back against the rail of the stairs and lit up a cigarette. From the side of his mouth he called down the long passage. ?I won?t be sorry when the Augustine tear your fucking head off!? The other man made no reply as he stormed down the stairs. The other people lounging about paid neither of them any mind. Josephine curiously rose to her feet. She headed over to the man smoking his cigarette and stood next to him. At an immediate glance, one could see that they were very different as far as style went. Josephine wore a beautiful black dress that looked like it could have been tailored in the 1800s. Meanwhile, this man was wearing a loose jacket over a scraggly t-shirt and cargo pants. Josephine recalled that she had last seen others back in the 70s -- at least this look was much nicer than the old one. ?Excuse me?? she softly inquired as she approached the young man. ?Hello! I?m afraid I?ve never seen you around here before. My name?s Erik Renseiger; you?? The man extended his hand toward the cute young woman now standing beside him. Josephine offered her hand and shook awkwardly. ?Josephine Haughm. Nice to meet you.? ?You to. So what it is you wanted to ask me.? Josephine looked down a moment as she pieced the sentence together, then spoke. ?What? what exactly were you guys yelling about?? ?Ah, you know. Jayce is one of those rebellious types. He thinks he?s gunna take down S.O.L.F. on his own or some sort of bullshit. Always trying to rally people into joining him -- he needs to go somewhere else and do that, though. I?m sure they got whole teams of people like that out there somewhere, but this tower is meant to be a refuge. These guys don?t need none of that when they?re struggling to survive.? Josephine had hardly even caught the gist of his meaning. She couldn?t even remember anything about the world before she had gone into hiding for such a long time. ?um? what?s S.O.L.F?? The young man just stared at her blankly. He narrowed his eyes, seeing that Josephine looked genuinely confused. He took a long drag of his cigarette, still just staring at her. He pulled the cigarette from his lips and exhaled slowly. ?Holy shit. You?re serious?!? Josephine was withdrawn, which made the man feel bad. ?Hey, don?t worry about it. Well? okay, maybe worry a little. Here, let me try to explain this to you? follow me.? The man led Josephine down a flight of stairs to the next floor of Big Ben. Like on the last floor, there were plenty of Nicodemus hanging about and chatting. The man led her up to another young man with a gruff beard and an older look about him. ?Kelly. This girl?s like? I don?t know. She?s definitely not from around here.? The man explained, dumbfounded. ?Slow down a sec. What the hell are you talking about?? The man asked in a thick French accent. He had a very cool demeanor and an intelligent look about him. ?It?s like?? the man began. Josephine cut him off in the interest of making progress. She wasn?t the type who liked to take too long to do things - short and to the point was more her style. ?What is S.O.L.F?? She asked. The French man glared a moment to see if she was bullshitting him, but he could see that she genuinely looked confused. ?I ought to start at the beginning? the Augustine.? Josephine?s head shot up, and her jaw clenched. A deep-seated rage could be seen in her eyes. The Frenchmen caught onto this as he lit himself a cigarette, handing another to the other man who was just flicking his away. Seeing the irritation in Josephine?s expression, he offered her a cigarette as well. She gladly took it and slid it between her lips. Kelly tossed her the lighter and she quickly lit the end, taking a quick drag before taking it in her fingers. ?I?m guessing they aren?t your type.? ?They killed my family.? She answered. Josephine remembered the day she found Annabel nailed to a cross by a spear, her blood dripping to the ground. She fell to her knees before the cross and broke down in tears. She remembered that the people who brought Annabel down were all standing around her. *** ?This bitch is one too!? One of the men announced. He was holding her under her jaw, examining the fangs among her teeth. The men gathered around, readying their weapons. They planned to pin her directly on top. Josephine would have accepted just such a fate, but her rage was too much. She screamed in agony and horror and anger as she exploded into action. Josephine would never forget the looks on the men?s faces when she impaled the first one straight through the chest and tore his heart out, taking a large bite out of it. When she turned to the rest of them every last one was either frozen in place or running for their life. Only one woman was among them. A woman she had trusted before -- a very close friend. The woman was unfazed. She only glared at Josephine with pure hatred. ?Kill her!? the woman cried. The remaining men returned to their senses and charged at her. Every last one of them was thrown to the ground in tatters of blood as their shredded bodies were tossed aside. Only the woman remained. Josephine had never known it before -- she felt like a fool. The Augustine smiled, revealing her fangs. She leapt into the air ready to bring Josephine down in one blow. The girl was weakened, and this woman was a highly experienced killer. The moment she had realized that Josephine and Annabel were Nicodemus vampires she had set everything in motion. What she hadn?t planned on was the powers the two girls had. Josephine could see the burn marks on the woman?s clothes. Annabel had gotten her a little before she was taken herself. She jumped at Josephine. In one moment, Josephine placed all of her soul into one attack. Her arms lashed out and just before she was torn to shreds by the mad woman?s attack, she caught hold of her electrical current. Josephine grabbed onto the very thing that was making the woman tick - her electrical impulses. She stripped the woman of her operational capabilities. She turned off her brain. The incident was covered up so perfectly, people in the very town where it occurred were oblivious. The right people were removed, the right memories erased, and the entire thing disappeared. Only Josephine was left to bear the sins of that day. *** ?I see,? Josephine concluded as Kelly finished telling her the story of how the S.O.L.F. had taken over the world essentially. ?Yes, well? welcome to your life from now on. This is how we live now because of all that. Wherever you come from I?d imagine was better.? Josephine was angered. She had finally emerged after all these years, and now she was told to run home? What was going on in this world? ?Thank you.? Josephine made up her mind. She was happy she had come to this place at this time. Otherwise she probably would have died with the world coming to an end and never even known what was going on. She had come just in time to make a difference. Josephine turned to the younger man who she?d met before and had been listening intently to the whole conversation. ?You said something about a resistance. Do you know much about it?? ?Oh fuckin? a, not you too!? ?I?ll take you,? Kelly interrupted. ?I know where to go. I know who you need to meet. Come along.? ?Thank you so much!? ?Don?t worry about it. I have nothing but respect for those willing to risk their lives in rebellion. Unlike some people?? Kelly glanced over at the other man, who had swallowed his tongue. He led Josephine out of the tower, into the dark night.
24. chapter 2 sounds great, but can I squeeze in my second post beforehand? It's taking me a bloody eternity to work on, and without it, my character doesn't really fall in anywhere ^^;; Sorry it's taking so long, but I've been sick all week I'll have it in by 5 PM (here it's currently 2).
25. Bliss not bad this one. I like how her hair kind of melts into the background. I think you may have overused the fade-to-white on the left side at this poin, lol. It seems to be something you use a lot. Serenity Is a red X on my screen >_< Bloodlust this one is really cool. I love the dirty brown-red of the background and the lighting effect is cool. I especially like how after 'is it a sin or a blessing' there's that little ghostly question mark. nice lil detail. Beautiful Sin Much as I absolutely hate Inuyasha, especially Sesshomaru, this isn't a bad look. The afterimage is pretty cool. My favorite thing is the border. Heartache Absolutely beautiful. The color contrast is done exceedingly well. Random Bursts The sprite looks really strange on the high-detail background, but I was thinking that was your intention. the border is really fugly >_< Sweet Sacrifice Much as i don't like Amy Lee, this is a pretty banner. The colors are cool and those black markings on the wall are neeto. I mostly like the attention to detail in this. I agree with Boo about the text, though. Seduction Looks like that scene from 300, which is conveniant becaous the art style looks like it could've been taken straight from the movie. simply wonderful and cool-looking.
