I agree that both bands can seem very pretentious at times, especially Dream Theater, though as a pretentious person, I guess it doesn't bother me, lol. Also, Jake, I just heard The Night and the Silent Water fromt the Morningrise album, and that was pretty badass. Is it one of the better songs or ae you shorthanding me on the quality of this album? Next next next... Oh! I almost forgot! My brother's favorite band... Dragonforce - Dragonforce are the golden gods of power metal and the two guitarists, Herman Li and Sam Totman, are possibly the fastests players around. Everything about this band is extreme and beyond. The drumming is a constant barrage, the bass, when it is put up front, comes in at maniacal speeds, the wailing guitars melt the very crust of the earth, the keytarist shreds vortexes in the atmosphere, and above all is falsetto-bearing vocalist ZP Theart with the most inspiring vocal delivery ever heard. You cannot listen to this CD while sitting still - this album lifts you from stationary and simply propels you. Valley of the Damned, their first album, is arguably their best and definitely their most diverse. The first song, Valley of the Damned, is the ultimate metal anthem. It's catchy, it's brilliant, and other than the mediocre solo, it is one of the greatest songs to ever be conceived. Now, basically all Dragonforce songs follow the same format. solo - verse - chorus - solo - verse - chorus - long chain of slos with some sort of 'woah-oh-oh' in there - chorus - possibly another solo. But on this album each song has something about it that's unique. Black Winter Night has special focus on keyboards, Starfire is a totally freaking amazing power-ballad (you CANNOT have more fun than with a Dragonforce power-ballad. You will laugh your *** off and still enjoy it.) and revelations has a really cool acoustic break midway. Overall, it's the most addicting of the Dragonforce albums. Their second release, Sonic Firestorm, i've honestly not heard but maybe twice. It just lacks the unique quality of the other albums. (this one copied from my reviw site... a good overview of their general sound) Each Dragonforce song contains a solo (or rather a group of solos) that last between 2-4 minutes on average. The solos may contain dual work between Li and Totman, battles between the two, insane keytar work, video-game inspired melodies, and the occasional sick bass solo. There are also usually mini-solos between verses and at the beginning and end of songs. One of the cool things about Inhuman Rampage is that it has many quirks and intricacies which make the songs stand out at parts where they otherwise wouldn?t. Therein lies the only trouble of Dragonforce?s music. All their songs sound incredibly similar. The lyrics are always basically the same (Total usage of ?fire? or ?flames? comes to 26 NOT counting repeats of the choruses! Pain, burning, and blood are all used a lot too). The guitars are always raging, basically everything is always moving at the same breakneck pace. They?re all so great, though, that this won?t really be a problem till you?ve heard it a good 40-50 times (I have no idea if most people listen to the same album as much as I do). The cycle is broken by the last track, Trail of Broken Hearts, the ultimate power-ballad. It is impossible to not feel like a nerd when you hear it. I love it.

Honestly? I've abandoned politics. My mom's an extreme liberal and a 'the government is all lies' type of person, which had me giong that way for a while too, but I just don't care anymore. I'm in permanent denial -- I've chosen to believe that everything is a conspiracy and that we are the toys of those above us. I don't want to have an opion in this sort of thing. When I have an opinion, I want to act on it, and this is something I believe to be beyond my power. I don't even count as neutral, I just straight-up don't care anymore. Yes, I think it's bad that ya'll are dying out there, but I can't help you, and I'm not gunna let it sit on my concience or anything. President Bush? The next guy? I'll just mold into the background of their policy. Do I approve of what he does? Hell no. I know for a fact that if I could, I'd turn all this around, but sitting around being angry abot it has yet to do any good. Let the ballots do the talking I say. Maybe when I'm old enough to vote I'll start taking sides.

Okay, thanks to Boo's help I am now listening to the album and will be giving my first impressions. After I've heard it a few more times I will further post my opinions later. 1. Wake - Okay, so it's and intro. But it IS an epic intro. Better than whatever 'Forward' was meant to be. 2. Given Up - The bass riff in the verse is pretty cool - I could do without the clapping and tambourines, and... well, it really seems like your average rock song for the most part. ZOMG he just said ****! WTC! Well, at least their being honest now, lol. Overall, it's not a bad song, though it's really just any old rock song with exceptional bass and far heavier than anything LP has done before. It's almost frightening hearing him scream 'take away my ****ing misery' though I guess the band's just growing up with me, lol. Pretty cool. 8/10 3. Leave Out All The Rest - Kinda reminds me of AFI, which wouldn't be a bad thing ordinarily, but I think AFI can pull off this sound a lot better. Overall, it's not a terrible song, but one I would skip for the most part. Makes me want to pop in Decemberunderground just to hear the song done right. 6.5/10 4. Bleed It Out - What the hell is it with them and clapping in this album? Anyway, the whole thing kinda feels like one big intro for the most part. I like the lyrics, the rap is cool, the chorus is cool, but it just feels like a constant rising action that exists only for the sake of the climax which it never actually reaches. Also, the chorus gets seriously repetitive for such a brief track, I mean like Panic at the Disco bad, lol. 6/10 5. Shadow of the Day - ZOMG its U2!! I KNEW IT! Anyway, boring as hell, sounds like U2, worst song yet. Answer = NO! Also, this did NOT need to be 5 minutes long, as that piano stuff at the end is worthless and not interesting 5/10 6. What I've Done - Already said before... 7/10 7. Hands Held High - This one was cool for a bit. I really like the rap lyrics, I like the beat, I like the piano. there is only one thing that throws this song off and it's the freaking part where the backround voices start saying 'amen.' Twas just off-sounding. Other than that it's a great song especially when the violins come in. That oice thing is realy weird, though, even when Mike sings over it. By the way, Mike has a good singing voice. 8/10 8. No More Sorrow - Another heavy one right off the bat. I want to know, though, why they have so many marching drums in this album. The heavy guitars are pretty cool and Chester's voice sounds good with it. it sounds like the kind of screamo songs you see on TV, relly, but LP is good enough to sound better than them, lol. The part where it bogs down and he starts screaming is good for headbanging as well. Prolly the best song yet, though it's edging on your average screamo fare. 8.5/10 9. Valentine's Day - right of the bat it is once more obvious that they wish they were AFI. It's got a very Decemberunderground feel to it, but once more it just isn't as good as AFI, and once more I just want to go listen to DUG. I think the biggest problem they've had on most of these songs is taking too damn long to pick up. Having the last 30 seconds of a song acceptable doesn't make up for the first 2 and a half minutes. Lyrically, this song is just gay. Just... gay. 5.5/10 10. In Between - the beginning of this song made me say 'neeto' and also Mike was singing again. i like how the beat rolls in over the violin. It slowly builds as keyboards come in and sounds cool, but once more it just always sounds like it's building but toward nothing. Like this entire album is one freaking leading up to nothing. It REALLY reminds me of one of the songs on Stadium Arcadium that i disliked for the same reason. Least SA had 28 tracks to make up for the fact that 14 sucked. With only 12 songs, having most of them suck is an irrevocable failure. LP have always had slow songs, but they were powerful. This is boring. 6/10 11. In Pieces - Okay, the beat it unique but Chester's voice doesn't match up with it. I'm guessing that's what you were talking about before. And OH MY FREAKING GOD! Once more it has not picked up until a minte and a half in, and even then it still sounds like it's building. I'm getting mad, it's really aggrivating cuz it's pensive -- you're constantly waiting for something to happen and when it does it doesn't - it never picks the **** up! I'm ready to just skip this song - oh wait here comes a solo. And there goes a solo which was really just a rather uninspired riff played over and over. So the song finally explodes and sounds alright, but once again, it doesn''t make up for all the **** beforehand! 5/10 12. The Little Things Give You Away - not a bad start, i like the acoustics - I'm just a sucker for acoustics, though they don't seem to be doing much. Not that I should expect them to on this damn album. ...the chorus. holy Jesus. Just look the last song's description, it's like that for this one as well. It's so boring I could fall asleep, no joke. And these damn U2 lyrics, GAH! *looks at time* oh my god this is going to be 6:30?! Alright chorus 2 picks up and the percussions are pretty cool, though everything else sound like faux-Gorillaz or something. It then pulls into something that's kinda cool... I can't believe I'm alredy 4 minutes in, it only felt lie 2 minutes cuz so little happened. Ah, now we have a solo and unlike the last song it's actually a viable solo, though still not particularly interesting. This song sounds like it's retreating from me. It's trying to be a big ending, but it lacks EPIC. It needs epic!!! **** it. I know at the beginning I said i'd post after hearing this more, but I don't think I'll listen to it again. Other than maybe 3 songs, this album is ***. 6/10 It was actually EVEN WORSE than I thought it would be... by a longshot!! i'm ready to go to my room, listen to AFI, and think of how much it sucks that 2 of my favorite bands releast crappy albums this year. My overall score, after the math, comes out to 6.5. LAME. (by the way, I'd score Hybrid Theory an 8.4 and Meteora 8.6)

Well, it's Sunday, so... I guess if Darren doesn't use his by 4 AM tommorrow, I'll use mine then. I'd hate for my negligence to mean the end of my character, and besides if Darren doesn't use his then at least there's the possible advnatage of his character dying by the maze. (and by the way, I think I've got a good idea of who his is). To Rach: Please don't make it stop before 4 AM!!! And if I somehow don't wake up by then I wont be able to post till 2PM... I hope I can make it in time.
:love2: I vote we keep it. DigitalBoy seems to be the only one to have a serious objection to it's inclusion, and besides that it's a good piece. If you want to change it, I suggest keeping it as is, but incorporating it into an article on Otaku Lounge instead of it having it's own page. Of course, this means having someone write an Otaku Lounge article, but it would help put it in perspective and wouldn't be as lame as adding a dislaimer.
:nervous: no, please, it's not that big a deal. I don't want to inconveniece someone that much just cuz I'm a whiny bastard, lol. -
Oi. About 6 months ago this game was around and was really popular, bringing in even people who weren't frequents of the music forum. the premise is this: A lot of people listen to and talk about a lot of music 'round here, but a lot of them would be surprised by the stuff on their media player. Here's what you do -- use your music player's scramble function to bring up 15 completely random songs. The idea is that these are songs you didn't choose on purpose -- some of your results you might not have even known were on your computer. The game is always fun and full of surprises! So basically, all you have to do is show us what 15 random songs you came up with, then tell us what you think about them. for those of you who don't use media players, there are other methods. I like going to random pages of my youtube playlist and selecting videos blindly (I have like 200 on ther, lol) or if you use an internet radio service that lets you see your last fifteen tracks, that's good too. i got: 1. The Lawrence Arms - the Devil's Takin' Names 2. Mindless Self Indulgence - Futures 3. Opeth - To Rid the Disease 4. Stephen Lynch - If I Could Be A Superhero 5. TV on the Radio - Staring at the Sun 6. Ensiferum - Warrior's Quest 7. Agalloch - The Lodge 8. Liquid Tension Experiment - Osmosis 9. Brigth Eyes - Four Winds 10. Gorillaz - Rock The House 11. Type O Negative - In Praise of Bacchus 12. .hack//SIGN - Aura 13. Tenacious D - Kyle Took A Bullet for Me 14. Tool - Lateralus 15. Coheed And Cambria - Neverender This, I'd say, is a good list. It managed to get everything i listen to seriously (cept the Mars Volta) as well as quite a few things i don't listen to as frequently (forgot that MSI song even existed.) number 15 is probably the single video I've played more than any other since my youtube profile was created, lol. i'm also glad i got one of the greatest anime songs ever on there. There's also some songs that at one point I used to listen to constanlty, like the first one, but now I don't listen to at all. Like right now I've been listening to number 9 like crazy, but a week from now i'll have forgotten all about it, lol.
*pokes 2007DigitalBoy* You'd do that anyway! :p I think all of us are hoping that our character makes it to the end. But I too have several favorites so if mine dies I know who I'll want to to win next! Also just to keep up to date! Those who have used their Switch Card so far are: Aaryanna indifference Sandy Only three more to go and the killing will begin! Mwahahahahahaha!
:P i promise you, I will use mine last. I'd like to let the characters keep developing as long as possible. Unless Darren uses his soon enough, it could be a bit before you see mine in play. I do think the suspense will kill me waiting fo rthe deaths to start, though! I really want to see what you guys plan!
Lighten up. OB isn't all doom and gloom seriousness, it's pretty obvious to anyone that article is in fun.[/color']
>_< It really can feel like it's all gloom and doom and seriousness from time to time. Then again that's partly dictated by my mood and what threads I'm posting in -- it's funny how a perspective of different members can be so different. Like, a person who never comes to the OB Lounge mght consider OB a peaceful relaxing place, while someone who's often in debates might find it more turmulous and serious. Personally, I think I come here to often venting. But I digress. . In the meanwhile, I'll be working on another person's article.... -
It will be interesting to see how this plays out and to see who finally makes it to the end. I know I'm looking forward to seeing how this finally gets resolved. :catgirl:
Personally, i've got my bets on multiple characters. Naturally I'm going to hope my guy can win, but if not, I always know who my next choice to root for is. i will say this, though,
if my character dies I will put these people through the most horrifyingly graphic things imaginable before the game ends XD

It's a gag article, who cares?[/color']
Well, I guess the fact that most peole who would take interest in Otakupedia would be people who are longtime OB members makes it better; I was thinking of it from the perspective of a new person who's learning about OB via the Otakupedia entries and sees it. I fear for my reputation >_< not that anything in particular is about ready to save it anyway. -
How did I never notice that you were Tical? It's so obviously you, the git. I'm really sick of people whining about the album based on that one single and expecting a band to stay at the same level of music for three albums straight. Boohoo, people improve while you don't. Besides, I didn't say they took things out. I said they don't overdo it as much as before. This album is a lot more clean and controled than what we've heard before of Linkin Park, and they got rid of the teeny angsty-emo lyrics. So yes when you consider that you prefer crap over music like I've noticed in other threads, this album probably isn't much good for you.
WTF? Now your going to drag personal preference down for the count. **** your idea of what's 'good'. did i say that their new sound 'wasn't good?' no. I said The single sucked and they sounded like U2. some people like U2, I'm no voice of what's 'good', but I'll tell you one thing, I freaking hate U2 and this crap sounds like freaking U2. I like their old sound - I like the basement sound and I like the angsty lyrics cuz guess what? I connected with them, I liked them, I felt what they felt, I enjoyed Chester and Mike Shinoda's way of singing and writing. I liked the rap lyrics, i really liked the techno. Hell, that was all the band really had going for them. Their instrumentality is uninspiring and bland, their style is cliche. Every ounce of their musical capability screams 'pop-rock band' but they threw it off the tracks with their combination of rap and rock and they helped bring that type of fusion to the forefront of popularity at the time. Everyone though LP kicked ***, i thought they kicked ***, most people still think they kick ***. So if they kick *** with thier old sound, and that old sound is gone, give me one good freaking reason I should listen to this new crap and like it if it's a load of crap?! And then you're going to come at the bands I listen to and insult them? What kind of hypocracy is that?
All but Sara and Aaryanna_Mom were copied and pasted. Blame Forgotten_Hero for that mutilation. By the way, you spelled "spelled" hideously. ; )
ZOMG did I ever XD. I can't even believe a typo that bad is possible! O_o Also, i'm kinda mad that the article about the hierchy of arguing makes no mention of how stupid it is or the small controversy around it >_> -
I'm a pretty good fan of Linkin Park - I grew up listening to them. I really like Meteora and Hybrid Theory. Just about everything I liked about those albums, though, you basically just said they took out. And that single sucks, which says something about the album, and plus all the things you said. They have become U2, it's DISGUSTING.
Thank you hun, I appreciate it. :catgirl: Especially since I spent a close to thirty minutes writing that. I don't use word since firefox seems to do the same thing, correcting misspelled words. So I type it up in the reply box. That and I'm a fairly decent speller. So most of the time I don't even need help. ;)
oi. Well, after about 15 minutes it declares you 'logged out' so i didn't catch you on the Who's Online list. once again, terribly sorry, though the problem's all fixed now. I really ought to edit that post bigger, though.
It wasn't to me, also, since I just spent a fair amount of time working on my post could you please remove your first part about Davis and Deoky? That took me a while to write. :animesigh I mean I assume we were posting at the same time, but your's is one paragraph and removing it won't affect much. The part with Deoky and Davis that is.
lol, already done before you said it. I hadn't known you were postin -- I always open the post reply page and a word document, then just click over and refresh the OB page every couple minutes. Sorry for the confusion. I also moved my post under yours.

?We have to find him!? Clavis commanded. ?Eflair, you and I and Lara must go for Davis, Andrew, you have wounded Deoky before and I was only in your way. I am confident in your ability to bring him down.? ?I believe I can do it as well.? Andrew replied. He turned toward Alden, who was just staring at him. The silent on looking lasted only a moment as Clavis, Eflair, and Lara took off in a group. Andrew?s eyes narrowed and he spat beside Alden. ?Pathetic.? Andrew took off, leaving the mechanic on this own. Alden fumed. He wasn?t ready to take that kind of shit from some ignorant relic. He reached into a hidden pocket in his vest and produced his most powerful weapon which Andrew hadn?t seen before. Alden made up his mind -- he was going to reach Deoky first and splatter his blood across the walls!
-
eh? I thought it was obvious that Andrew and Clavis were chasing him. After all, what reason did they have for sticking around with the others? It was a time skip, not a time reversal -- I guess it could be a little confusing... EDIT: Fixed Also, I figured it'd be interesting if Alden and Andrew were both chasing Deoky. i know a lot of pople talk of Clavis and Deoky fighting, but the other two fighters haven't gotten the limelight they deserve, considering their power. Besides, Clavis has other duties.
-
Lol, I figured it might be fun for Deoky to look at Davis and Lara as a sort of replenishing station, or save point. But what's this? Looks like as long as the opponents have two healers and a fighter like Andrew, Deoky's gunna have one of the toughst battles he's ever fought.
-
Deoky was feeling pretty good about his situation. He now had methods for defusing most of the simple traps that were abundant in this massive room, and besides he?d recovered fully in the sensual rape of Lara Servas. Even though Clavis and Andrew had renewed their chase, he was undaunted. Now he was literally running backwards, watching the ancient vampire and buff guardian make haste toward him. He simply dodged every punch and slash like they were nothing. Andrew made and arcing cut that Deoky ducked under to protect his head, giving Clavis the chance to leap clear over the warlord?s body. Deoky whipped around to catch a punch flying toward him, then pulled Clavis forward as he sidestepped a stab being lunged at him by Andrew. As Deoky rounded Clavis? massive form, the blade shot straight through the guardian?s stomach, blood spattering on Deoky?s face as he stood just behind, watching the tip emerge from Clavis? back. Andrew was shocked as blood shot onto his arm and Clavis spat out blood. ?HAH!? Deoky called as he pulled his arm back. In a vicious movement, he plunged his arm forward ready to tear the large man?s heart clear out of his back, but Andrew quickly pushed the blade further through his companion and continued to move forward, lunging at Deoky once more. Deoky?s hand ran straight through Clavis? shoulder, but simultaneously Andrew?s blade came running through his own ribs. Andrew was now covered in Clavis? spraying blood from both a sword sticking through his gut and a hand now stuck in his shoulder. Both Deoky and Andrew?s eyes met. Instantly they both pulled themselves away from the man in the middle, a grotesque squish being heard as they jumped away. Instantly upon the removal of the attackers? weapons from his body, Clavis slumped to the ground, barely breathing as his blood pumped from his body. Immediately Andrew charged at Deoky once more, ready to bring down a vertical slice on the warlord?s skull. The wounded conqueror backed away just in time to only get a small cut on his collar bone, and he retaliated with haste. Before Andrew could raise his sword again, Deoky struck at full speed. Andrew ducked under his hand, only to receive a knee directly to his face. The attack sent Andrew sprawling back, but he pushed himself up to his feet quickly, jumped back twice, and readied himself once more. Deoky?s breathing was heavy and blood was flowing profusely from his chest. He touched his hand to the wound, then looked up at his assailant. Both knew that Andrew had the upper hand. Deoky turned on a time and leapt away as fast as he could, disappearing from sight instantly. Andrew turned toward his companion bleeding on the ground. ?Clavis! Oh, brother. These wounds will be the end of your life for sure.? He said, sorrowfully. ?N-no,? Clavis started to speak, but coughed a bit of blood mid-sentence, ?Eflair?? ?Right! But How will we get her to you?? ?I have already called to her? I?? Clavis couldn?t find his breath between coughs of blood, but only seconds later Eflair came leaping up to the platform they stood upon. Clavis turned to Andrew. ?Go!? He called. Andrew understood, realizing that he couldn?t give Deoky time to heal. He raced off in the direction the evil one had gone. Meanwhile, Eflair was taking care to mend Clavis? wounds. He had used his natural powers to send a beacon out to her as soon as he knew he was going to be harmed and she had come as fast as possibly. She had to act quickly so that she could return to help the others, and simultaneously made Clavis aware that Davis was in need of his help. Meanwhile Deoky was making his way back to the place where the weaker ones were via a longer route. He would torment them for his regeneration. He only needed to arrive before the others.
I decided to write Davis to be retarded by Deoky's mind assault, and Andrew to be gay. Use those as you wish. ;P And thanks for clearing up the use of the Switch Cards, Rach!
I like the idea of Davis being retarded, even if Clavis can heal it up soon, but why make Andrew gay? In any event, things are getting interesting, and i'm more than sure someone will have a post with Andrew fighting while keeping Thomas in mind constantly. But you know what they say - those with something to loose always loose it, hehehe...

thanks! Yes, I would say that I am extremely depressed, as you can probably tell by my general view of the world in any of my posts, lol. It's not like i only bring this stuff up in discussion or poetry - this is the stuff I'm thinking about 24/7. It's... frightening, really. As for that first poem, there is a rhythm to it, though I'll admit it's hard as hell to find since I was singing it in my head as i wrote it. i find it funny that you enjoyed the second one so much since it confused the hell out of me. It looks like it has something to do with a novel and some kind of adventure -- I was trying to write something about all the pressure I feel against me; 'a tower stretching across the sky', a 'culmination crafted of dismay' - something I was fighting against. And i'm just a little anti-hero struggling against these huge forces. The second stanza is about how I can't decide ow the story is going to end, i guess. Do I go on, or do I die right now? I can never decide. As for the third, it was purely intended as a song - i wasn't too concerned about poetic brilliance, but it did turn out WAY better than I expected. This one is written right here, on the spot Gimme The Wood [PG - LV] Master's calling for the barracks Filled with ready aiming youth Whisper's lies amonst the fallen Time to die for what you lived I'll remove each nail completely Lowered for these eyes to bare Eat your own flesh, I'll grow my own Gimme the wood; this winter's cold Negleting that greater presence Bleach erodes from irises Every flame of truth unspoken Doused with peace I long to witness -- Under 5 minutes, but i swear to god, i absolutely love it! EDIT: Got another one... a very personal one, once more on-the-spot Mommy, Your Boys Are Freaks [PG - Adult themes L] The first one's got a problem, the poor boy is a mute Every thought he's ever spoken distanced you from the truth While the thoughts inside were churning toward the end of the world Every other mind he's blown apart, the spiral unfurls A madness created inside of him he's hidden it well With the knowlege flowing in and out reflecting the swell Of a wound bleeding eternally from his empty heart And I know he will be crying while we all fall apart Mommy, mommy, just look what you've done I know you meant to do so very much with your son, but The inside of his mind is lined with gasoline And he's gunna blow someday The second is a voiceless ghost with rage bent around To the edges of a psyche where remorse can be found Sitting alongside a martyrdom he hopes he contains But the marred surface is burning as we eat his remains The child lacks a quality he'll never capture With the studious corruption of this elapsed rapture And he'll cry inside his mind infront of everyone here Till the day he crumbles, rots, corrodes, gives up, disappears Daddy, daddy, just look what you've done I know you meant to do so very much with your son, but The inside of his mind is lined with gasoline And he's gunna blow someday The last one is a bomb that don't require a fuse And every thing you've ever heard from him is frightening news A day you know will come when this one has a collapse Cuz every thing you've ever tought you know is doomed to relapse He comes into his own with blood and fire in his eyes Cuz he never learned to conjure his own truth in the lies You never learn the lessons to turn him from awry Lie him down along with the others and watch them all die Mommy, daddy, just look what you've done I know you meant to do so very much with your son, but The inside of his mind is lined with gasoline And he's gunna blow someday
Hindsight is 20/20.
i agree with this completely, too, though I don't think people are usually completely blind to what's going on. While it is true that there are things people didn't know where going to end up the way they did, there are others where they were perfectly capable of realizing how stupid what was going on was. I think a shining example of this balance can be seen in our country right now. When this war started a lot of people were supportive and stuff, but now in hindsight most people have come to realize how crazy this whole thing is. But when it comes to something like genocide, the people slaughtering an entire race are perfectly capable of realizing what they are doing. It's not like the annihilation of a race of people only looks bad in hindsight. But I could be misurderstanding your post entirely or something, I'm afraid I get lost in the way you write sometimes.

wow. This really is NOT Lara's lucky day, is it? Lots of use of the word 'rape' suddenly appearing all over this game, lol. Deoky is one bad dude, but that's what makes him so cool. My only concern is that with Davis braindead, does he even have a fighting chance? This game is seriously brutal, though I'm sure the work of our sick creative minds can turn the tables in any direction we feel like.

Who says I was being sarcastic :therock: Also, I don't think it's so much that metal has a large following on OB, more just that me and Jake are the most outspoken people in the music forum, lol. As for the bands you mentioned TV on the Radio is pretty cool, namely the tracks you highlighted which were in my favorite song of the week at some point back there (my god that thread has gotten huge!) and they have some other OK tracks. I like their vocal style and stuff, but their music isn't quite enough to keep my enticed. Well, Rush was really the last band I could really do that huge of a description of save fo rthe one I'm going to do in my next post. The next couple are ones that I haven't heard but a portion of their material but I still very much enjoy it. Dream Theater - This is a band that I really want to get into, but it holds me at bay at times. I have the album Train of Thought which is an absolute masterpiece. Every song is heavy, epic, and awesome. Basically, they're like Opeth without the darkness that covers everything. The songs Honor Thy Father and In The Name of God are particularly awesome. On the other hand, this band has been around since the eightees and most of their older stuff (they only have 8 albums, 9th coming this year) has that irrevocable '80s sound' to it. Like on the one hand it's not a bad song, but it feels before your time, at least in my case. I have liked what i've heard from their sixth album, Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence, which I might pick up, but the main thing keeping me away is that I already know that ToT is their 'heavy album' by a lot compared to their old ones, and they sound best heavy. Ayreon - Arjen Lucassen is a genius of a Dutch composer who can play pretty much any instrument and does in his albums. On each album he brings in a myriad of vocalists from all kinds of prog groups together and they all play different roles or characters in the albums. All of their albums are concept albums, some even rock operas. Now, all of their older stuff is basically just your average progressive rock. Their most recent album, The Human Equasion, though, is an amalgation of every musical style known to man blended together perfectly in a spectacularly epic album. With voices such as Mikael Akderfelt of Opeth and James Labrie of Dream Theater, you really can't go wrong with the vocal delivery and the number of unique instruments displayed is simply fantastic.
