1. hey now, don't misquote me. I never said they weren't anime fans, they're just disappointing anime fans. Anyone who is a fan of anime is an anime fan by definition, even if they have only seen Naruto and FMA. Now, I wish that anime fans watched more than that, but as far as terminology goes, I am at a loss. And no, watching more shows doesn't make you a bigger anime fan either. Just a more educated one.
2.
I wasn't thinking of anything in particular, but that's a good guess. Aria's visuals are serviceable when they could be so much more. The Jing OVA is much, much better-looking (and better written and directed) than the TV series. I liked it enough to get the R2 DVDs, although I didn't care for the show and have not read any of the manga. ~Dagger~
You just made me die a little inside. I've wanted to see that SOOO bad for SO long, it's painful. Wait a minute... I wonder if there's a sub of it that I never found before because I didn't do subs back then?! Am I so stupid this never occured to me?! Dagger, i could kiss you right now! *runs off to find out*
3.
The only reason I can think of Des not doing some sort of an insta-ban would be to make a person into some kind of a man-slave You're pretty screwed now.
Wouldn't be the first time I've had this situation... As for suggestions of what the boards should be... ObeatnikBoards. We could have all our posts be told as poetry and have snazzy avatars of The Beatles and Pink Floyd.
4.
It's hard to think of pros and cons that apply to most (not to mention all) anime. I'd say that limited budgets would top my lists of cons, though. Even the best-animated TV shows could be a lot better. Shows that demonstrate gorgeous, creative animation in some episodes inevitably look awkward or cheap in others. And it's a shame when a series with an incredible story has to rely on uninspiring, generic animation. ~Dagger~
yes, this is a rather big issue with all anime (and I'm guessing you had ARIA in mind when you wrote this post, no?) My hangup happens to be with King of Bandits Jing, one of my favorite manga ever which had a subpar anime (though when I was newer to anime, it was still amazing, heh). I'd say the biggest con of anime is having to put up with Narutards and the like. I don't know about others, but where I live Naruto is HUGE within the goth community and there's always people wearing Naruto shirts and stuff. What's sad is that, unlike Dragonball Z, most of these people know tht Naruto is anime, as well as the BS on AS, and proclaim themselves 'anime fans' when a great deal of them have seen no more than 10-15 shows. Even if your just watching stuff that's out in the US, there's no excuse to be so freaking undereducated.
5.
I blame 2007DigitalBoy; he first started the thread down this dark path. All in favor of a banning, say aye. :modrod:
as site administrator, though, I don't think you really need any consent... wait, what are we discussing here?! O_o
6.
I have never had one on an anime character and I'm incredibly interested in knowing why someone would find a 2-dimensional image of someone they've never met (and know doesn't exist) to be an object of desire.[/COLOR']
Every time I read this sentence, i want to throw up. Every time someone brings up this topic it's always the same thing. Anywho, as the type of fan who looks at hentai, anime doujin, talks about characters in a disturbing fashion, hands out with people who are too old to be liking these characters (thank god I'm still only 15) and obsesses over characters -- you can guess what my answer to this question. It's not like I'm in love with these characters or something - I just think they are hot. You might say 'oh fake girls are not hot', but that's just your thing. It's not like I don't find any real girls attractive or something, and even if I didn't, it's still a matter of preference. It's like if you pointed to a woman with huge breasts and said 'she's hot'. If I disagree, it's just cuz I don't like big boobs (and I don't, usually.) the same goes for anime characters. I think some of them are hot, and that's my preference, maybe not yours. It just so happens that more anime girls fall into my personal range of preference than real girls. Oh well.
7. Okay, Coheed and Cambria is my new favorite band, and if you'd like to know why, do me a favor. See my sig? There are 2 links it in. Watch the first, then the second. That song, The Final Cut, when played live, is easily one of the greatest songs ever. Also, I've been listening to some songs from Shabutie (what Coheed was before Coheed) and they've got some really freaking scary stuff. These are some of the most disturbing songs I've ever heard, no kidding. My favorite one is Godfather's Lollipop, though Camouflage is great as well. These songs will melt your freaking skull/ EDIT: Claudio's side project, the Prize fighter Inferno roxxors too. The Margretteville Town Dance is pwn
8. oh, dear sweet lord. My and my mental conditions are gunna have us a nice, bored summer. But it will be WAY better than last summer. This summer I have some friends who I could go pester and my brother has a friend who I'm sure will be here most of the summer. Even if I did spend most of my time sitting around doing very little, it would be better than last year. ... in fact ANYTHING is going to be better than last year, because last year I faced the greatest turmoil I've ever known, and this year is so far very placid and enjoyable. There's been some problems, but overall it's not so bad... it's BETTER. That's all that matters. This year... I WILL accomplish something. I'd rather die than round off my summer the same way it began.
9. This one is a mixed bag for me. I think most of the problems spring from the fact that this is definitely too long. Not that poems can't be long, you've just recycled a fw of the ideas too many times. For instance, your plight is obviously trying to make a relationship work, but you only do two things - express your remorse, and say that you think it could work (though apparently your idea of 'work' is 'kill' which I think is cool). Now, it's okay to do these things, and you do them well in spots, but in others you don't. your rhymes are very basic, as I'm sure you have noticed, but that's not really a problem for me if they are functional, and in this case they are. The lines are never so off that you can't imagine them being sung, and everything fits into place well in that sense. Overall your main problem is simply repetition. First and foremost, you don't need so many chorus repetitions, especially not all bunched up in the front like that. There are plenty of substantial lines here, such as the chorus as well as the following for examples: I Thought of suicide, Then I heard you cry. As I held you in my hand, The pain went down like sand. We can be together today, And our hate will go away. Even though were just youth, I can see the valid truth. I can be with you all my life, As I hold the rusted knife. Put it inside your heart, That will make the hate fall apart. Love my our be the way, For each other to stay. You may put me through abuse, But now you see the use. Our lives are now in our hands. As we walk the scarlet sands. In fact, that part alone could be turned into a poem and be better than the rest of the poem, I'd say. My only suggestions would be removing the word 'the' at the end of stanza 2 and maybe changing the name to 'scarlet sands.' The rest is just sort of there, though certain lines stand out as bad/cheesy: But did I prove a point? Is that why you kicked from your joint? That?s when I realized you weren?t the one, As I burned in the sun. As the children start to cry, Why is there a tear inside your eye? Do you feel some pain, When I fall once again? Or would you rather be alone? Living like a stone. All in all, I'd say it's alright, better with editing. I'd suggest you go through with a critical eye of your own and do what you think is right.
10. Taking Dead seriously (I know, dangerous) I do think that OB should be headed in a different direction. Most of the active members don't even seem to care about anime... I mean theres quite a few anime fans here, but the label of 'anime forum' only seems to atract [strike]narutards[/strike] n00bs who post spamminess. We should go for something more a reflection of OB's style... but hey, these are the musings of the unimportant :catgirl:
11. Before this thread gets closed (what's taking so damn long?!) I thought I'd give you some advice. Don't ever, EVER, write anything again for the remainder of your life unless you get some SERIOUS writing lessons. First of all, thanks for the warning that this was a Sailor Moon fanfic, oh wait, you didn't explain that. In fact, you actually used parenthesis in the middle of your writing to explain a character was a fanfic character! WTF?! And who the hell is Kagome? She doesn't get an explaination? I'm going to assume you meant Kagome. If you do, I want you to know, it is now within my personal rights to murder you. Firstly, when you tell a story, tell a story as if it happened and you were there, not like you've heard it from a friend or watched on TV and are trying to paraphrase for your buddies. You don't use things like 'i guess' in writing as a narrator. You just DON'T. Even in first person, things like 'so, like, then' aren't acceptable! And... oh my god did you actually bleep out the cuss words?! Were you too afraid to type them or something?! you gotta be kidding me! Now as for the totally irrational tripe that is your story, why didn't you just type what you really wanted to? 'Mina raped Kagome, the end'. You could have said that and conveyed the exact same message! But what the hell? It's like, Kagome hates her, so Mina rapes her?! and is Kagome was enjoying it... wait, what? What just hapened? In fact, why did you even write a sex story with NO SEX?!?! Where's the juicy action?! And no, 'her boobs bounced' is NOT juicy action! Every last inch of this story is dripping with a lack of skill in writing. I know I'm supposed to be trying to tell you how to improve, but you really do need improvement in every area imaginable. not only is this a sex-story without sex, a fanfiction without an anime, a story that the writer doesn't know, and a contrived piece of madness; but I've read papers by my 9-year-old brother that were more coherent. PHAIL! And if I get in trouble for this post, so be it. I was NOT about to let you off the hook for this!
12. KAMINA!!! Go forward into battle! A true man never backs down! Believe in me, who believes in you! Pierce the heavens with your drill!!! Kamina is totally awesome (not to mention 100% GAR) in every way. Firstly, he's protective of his friends (his brothers! Gurren-dan!) and that's always cool. He never backs down, and he will do anything to get exactly what he wants and reach his goals. He has a strict moral code, and he's making sure no one backs down. Kamina's a brick-wall and a symbol of hope for those around him. He is the reason Simon finds power within himself and he makes the big-breasted rifle-weilding young ladies swoon!
My favorite anime hero acctually a villin is Itachi ..he kicks arse ^.^
If he's not a hero, but in fact a villain, why did you post him in the Heroes thread? How about making a villains thread instead?
13.
Tenacious D- Wonder
How in the name of Satan did you manage to not call it Wonderboy?!?! GAH!!! Anywho, the funniest dong ever is easily I'm the Only Gay Eskimo, but I think someone else already did that one ( I only breezed through) so instead I will do another awesome one that I was addicted to a few weeks back. It's... If I could Be a Superhero. If I could be a superhero I would be awesome man I'd fly around the world fighting crime According to my awesome plan And if I saw criminals trying to lie Hurting other people and making them cry I'd haul them off to jail in my awesome van... Cuz I would be awesome man ...Now remember kids, some criminals want to you to be a criminal too. They offer you things like alcohol and drugs. But what do we do? We just say no! If I cold be a superhero I would be drugfree boy I'd tell all the world of the evils of drugs and all the lives they destroy! so I'd take all the junkies getting so high With their needles and their bongs and their sticks made of tie And as I burned them alive I would squeal with joy (attempted whistling) If I could be a superhero I'd be immigration dude Sending the foreigners back to their homes For eeating up all of our food And taking our walfare and best jobs to boot Like landscaping, dishwashing, and picking up fruit I'd pass a lot of laws to get rid of their loot Cuz i'd be immigration dude Kids. If you could be a superhero... who would you be? If I could be a superhero Would you be justice guy? Making sure peole get what they deserve Especially women who lie And leave your *** with three kids and no job to run off to ****ing Hawaii with a doctor named Bob You could skin them and drain them of blood so they die Then you'd be justice guy Or you could be more subtle, no, I didn't mean to be vague Give her the mad cow disease LEt him die of the plague As long as they suffer for their horrible lies Then you would be justice guy Yes them you would be... A superhero... like me! My favorite one is drugfree boy. I have this bandana with the drug-free Y? on it (from ydoyouthink) and was wearing it calling myself drugfreeboy XD
14.
You really love this show don't you?! I can tell from the way you posted the threads title. It sounds awesome, but one downside... I probably don't have the channel. After all DirecTV sucks! I really wish they had more channel options, it bores the snot at me that I have to watch caroonnetwork all the time to see a lot of the anime I hear about.
3 episodes... in Japan. Do not even remotely expect this series for quite a while -- it's got a planned 26 episode run and only just started in Japan, it won't be out in America for at LEAST a year, if not more. Go find you a nice download site (or PM me for one) and watch it there.
15. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann! (First Heaven Penetration Gurren Lagann) Pierce the heavens with your drill! The true man lives by the path of his soul! Never turn back! Press onward toward the heavens! Never be defeated! Now, let us do battle! Welcome to the world of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann! This new drop from GAINAX has everything you could ever want! It's got action! Insane comedy! An over-the-top GAR factor! And the girl in the bikini with the huge boobz! the series opens up with the most simplistic, awesome explanation of anything ever by the main character, Simon. "My job is to dig holes. I dig holes so that the vilage grows. If I dig enough, the elder will be happy. He will give me a pig steak. So, 'do you do it for the steaks?' Not exactly..." Simon, the guy in the middle of the pic, explains this as he tunnels the earth with inane ease using his huge drill. Suddenly it strikes something and he stops. "...Sometimes you find treasure." What Simon has found appears to be a tiny drill charm on a string. Simon quickly leaves the tunnel, admiring his trinket. He is spotted by a few girls who point and make fun of him for being dirty and strange, then run off. Simon is saddened, but quickly bumps into his friend Kamina (guy on the left, pre-huge cape). Kamina tells him that he needs to cheer up, because it is his drill that will pierce the heavens. Kamina drags Simon back into a little alcove where he and three rag-tag teens are plotting to bust straight through the roof of their underground village and run of to freedom. All they need is for Simon to shoot straight up! The group mount a herd of wild boars which takes off up the slopes of the village, and erupts into a giant tower of boars reaching toward the ceiling. The elder, though, stands at the highest ledge and uses the sheath of his massive sword to knock the tower tumbling to the ground once more. The elder lectures the small group in front of the whole village, reminding them that the ceiling has been off-limits for many generations. he threatens the group to not continue their plans or they will have their food taken away. At this the three other boys chicken out. Kamina argues with the elder that he went to the surface with his father when he was a small child, and that he would follow in his father's footsteps and rise to the surface. During their arguement there is an earthquake and everyone runs into shelter as rocks fall from the sky. Simon is totally terrified, recollecting some terrible past event. Kamina holds him steady, asking "is this how you wish to live? In constant fear of earthquakes?" The elder retorts and has him locked up in jail. Simon returns to his drilling duties and has memories of his parents dying from an earthquake. He thinks that everyone will eventually die this way, and that's when he discovers a mechanical face the size of his own body poking out if the ground. He quickly tunnels into Kamina's cell and tells him to hurry and follow. While the duo are on the way, though, they are caught by the elder on night patrol and quickly surrounded. another earthquake occurs, and the villagers all run off, only this time the whole ceiling collapses, and in falls a giant nechanical face with arms and legs! Immediatelly it begins stomping on things and terrorizing the village. The elder is scared to the point of peeing himself, to which Kamina laughs and takes his massive sword, ready for battle. The sword is useless, though, and that's when the monser is suddenly struck by a massive bullet. Swinging in on a rope and carrying a sniper rifle is the big-breasted beauty Yoko (right in picture). After delivering some cover fire, she lands next to Simon and Kamina. Simon tells both of them to follow him to the face he found, hoping it may be able to help them in some way. As they tunnel around, introductions are shared. Yoko states that she's dropped in from the surface, but is a resident of "the neighbooring hole" (at which Kamina officially decides that she is ugly for beeing another undergrounder). The group passes by a window, and Yoko takes aim at the monster's transistor coils to try and kill it in one shot, but this plan is foiled by Kamina yelling at it, claiming that true men fight face-to-face. The three emerge at the place where Simon found the face and has finished diging it out. They notice that there's a cockpit on top of it. Simon asks Kamina to pilot, but he refuses, stating that since Simon found the thing, it is his. Simon is too scared, but Kamina convinces him to pilot it telling him "Don't believe in yourself! Believe in my who believes in you!" A pair of arms and a pair of legs spring from the mini-mech and it takes off at Simon's command. A masive, crazy, and utterly awesome battle ensues, ending as Simon rockets through the beast and charges it upward, through the hole where the ceiling once was, and up to the surface. The enemy mech explodes in a giant fireball and, after falling a few stories, the team finds themself on ground, but no sooner than they do, two more huge robots are right upon them! -------- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is full of wild and crazy humor and action that will keep your jaw open, your eyes peeled, and your adrenaline pumping. So far, three episodes have been released, and each has only been better than the last. The show moves fast and is constantly awesome. No matter who you are, you need to see this show. Now. Go.
16. Name: Josephine Constance Haughm Age: 1456-1462 -- 597 years Species and Clan: Vampire / Nicodemus Clan Appearance: Personality: Over the course of the centuries, Josephine?s personality has seen periods of evolution many times. It was only 80 years ago that the horrible occurrence which changed her into what she is now happened. Josephine is very cold to anyone she doesn?t know and isn?t the time to make friends with anyone. For the most part she seeks total solitude and therefore is mildly behind the times -- so much so that she has before gotten in trouble with S.O.L.F. before without knowing what was going on. Physically, she is not all that strong for a vampire, but she has inane speed. Josephine has stuck close to her vampiric roots, and has not consorted with humans in what seems like centuries. Her home itself is hidden away from society in a forest out in the rural area. Except when she has the absolute desire to feed, she never leaves her cabin home. Biography: Josephine Haughm was born human in France during the time of the renaissance. Josephine was a sort of distanced youth, which caused her some torment from her fellow children. At the age of 16, Josephine fell in love for the first time -- what she didn?t know was that her lover was a vampire. Looking upon the callousness with which she?d been treated by humans, she gladly accepted the offer to become a vampire herself. She reclused from society, joining a clan of vampires. For a while, she lived in happiness with the man she loved and under the wing of her new vampire brethren. Unfortunately, the peace wouldn?t last. When Josephine was 36 years old, she watched her home burn to the ground. The memory of the billowing flames was forever etched into her memory. Upon the roof of the house a giant cross stood, her husband nailed against it. Josephine was broken. It was only with the help of her clan that she was able to flee to Britain, where she would come to enjoy life once more many years later. Josephine never trusted humans again, consorting only with her own kind within the clan. Most of her time, she stayed at the secret meeting places they had established in different cities where she traveled. She was fairly popular amongst her peers at the time, and had many friends among the clan. In 1630, she met the love of her life -- Annabel Kiala. Josephine and Annabel were more deeply in love than ever before, and they began to spend all of their time together. For years, they?d retreat and never appear, finding an endless joy in just being together. Annabel was much older than Josephine -- over 600 years -- and she wielded great power. Many of her powers were given to Josephine, and she, too, became a strong magic user. During the 1800s, as the world became more open, the two did lots of traveling and became deeply cultured. Josephine began to trust humans again and even befriended some in her travels. For a time, Josephine and Annabel blended seamlessly into human society. Things remained this way up until the 1973. In the middle of one cold winter, Josephine?s life would be thrown astray once more. Annabel had become good friends with a human and the two were becoming close. Feeling that she had trust in the human, Annabel revealed that she was actually a vampire. The human instantly turned on her, and led a group to hunt her down. Like Josephine?s first love, Annabel was slaughtered before her very eyes. The entire incident was covered up, but Josephine had no will to notice. She secluded herself from humanity, never to consort with them again. Extras: Josephine has various magical abilities which Annabel taught her in their many years together. These powers include minor necromancy spells (reviving small animals and such), minor persuasiveness spells (the ?evil eye? as they call it.) some electricity maneuvering (turn on an appliance with your mind sort of thing - only close range) and some light techniques (she can refract certain harmful sun rays)
17. 1. **** you, your honor! (oh who am I kidding, Allamorph wins this one, hands down!) 2. 18. ai! I like them! Both are wonderful1 I think I'll do the blue banner and pink avi for now, and I may come back to the oters some time. Domou arigatou gozaimasu!
19. I may have to remove Dead Again from my list. I heard their new single, the 10 minute track Profits of Doom, and it was utterly horrible, paling in comparison to anything they've ever written. Worse yet, Christian faith has bathed all their lyrics. I respect bands and their faith, but this is just rediculous and forceful. The worst part is, I've read about the album, and there's a 14-minute song on there, which sounds like a good thing, but it's about their disapproval of abortion!!! Now, I have no opinion on abortion, but what a gay thing to sing about!!!! As for you, Jakehammaren! You have just added to disks to my must-have list! After listening to a few songs on their website, I absolutelly love this damn band! A Meeting Place And Time is an absolutely beautiful, deep, wondrous track. I know already I'll be reopening this webpage many times in the future!
20. There's already a 10-page thread (debate) about this over on Megatokyo... it's disgusting. As usual, everything's been politicized, dragged out of focus... we've got the pro-gun and anti-guns, the people sifting through blame cards trying to figure out who to yell at, the whole 9-yards. i'm not one to get into this sort of mess. I don't really have strong opinions on these issues -- nothing I feel passionate about enough to back up with any substance. I will say this, though. As one who lives in Virginia, where VA Tech is the most popular college choice, it's a sort of surprise hearing about this in my own backyard. I can't claim to have been frightened -- the world was already scary enough as it was... this is just more fuel on the fire. My only thing is that the minute I hear 'video games' or 'music' on the news, I'll be the next one on a rampage.
21. Oi there! I need a banner and avi fro this show, Hidamari Sketch. I don't really care how it's made, I'll leave that up to the person who creates it. Let your uniqueness run wild ^_^. All that I require is that it is, in fact, a banner and an avi. For the avi, I just want the girl with the Xs in her hair from the image. As for the banner, i'd orefer to get in all 4 girls, but if you can't get them all, do whatever you can. If you want to find a better image, go ahead, I couldn't find much >_< Also, I'd like it if somewhere in the corner of the banner, preferedly small and in thin font, I want '21st Century Digital Boy' in whatever color matches your work. Link: Have Fun!
22.
Wednesday 13~ Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead- I have heard two of the songs from this CD, I Walked With A Zombie and Bad Things. The singer is greatly influence by Alice Cooper and you can hear it in his songs. I also already have Fang Bang, which is their second CD. Type O Negative~ The Best of Type O Negative- I have been told by my friends to get the greatest hits album before I start to buy the rest of their albums. This also gives me a chance to see if I really like them besides the small glance of the songs when I hear them on Music Choice Metal.
Transylvania 90210 is a great album if you like their style, has a lot of great tracks on it. I Walked With a Zombie is pure win, though they have some other greats like "Haunt Me" and "Elect Death For President". If you want to buy this CD you must be ready for blatantly gothic humor that can sometimes be throughly cheesy but also awesome XD. For instance in 'Buried by Christmas' he tells santa he want 'A casket with velvet inline and black trim... oh yeah... and a bucket of chicken!' As for Type O Negative, don't go for the Best of disk. If your going for a compilation, I suggest The Least Worst of Type O Negative, though I actually reccommend neither. Skip introduction and go straight for Bloody Kisses, one of the greatest albums ever created. It's got songs from every style they've written in, and all of their best songs are on it. It's like a best of on one album XD.
23. With both anime and manga, there's always a whole lot of stuff coming out ever-frequently. we can't always keep up, and sometimes we end up eyeballing a couple volumes for a while, or waiting till you've got the extra cash for that X box-set (still like 160 bucks XD). What are you looking to buy? Personally, I make these lists semi-compulsively all the damn time, so rather than waste my paper right now, sticking it in my jacket pocket, and forgetting it's there, I figured I'd give everyone the chance to post a list they can't forget here. My list: Anime 1. Haibane Renmei volume 2 + 3 - A long, long time ago when I first got into anime, I purchased volume one of this series with the box (it was only 21 bucks, couldn't resist). I only ended up watching 2 episodes, got bored, and didn't watch it till late 2006. Now having an entirely different style, I watched it again, and was intrigued enough to buy volume 2. Now, of course, I want the rest >_< 2. Ergo Proxy - I know absolutely nothing about this show aside from what's written on the back of the box. al I know is that I love psychological anime, I'm a huge fan of the art style, and i'm ready to take the risk. Unfortuanetally, this one still seems to be maniacally expensive >_< Manga 1. Boogiepop Dual volume 1 - Kind of a funny story here >_< As I'm a huge boogiepop fan, I of course was immediately ready to buy this. When I went to the store, there was a copy, I bought it. I accidentaly bought volume 2 and didn't realize it till I got home. Figuring I would get volume one soon enough, I kept it. It's been almost 4 months >_< I still haven't read volume two yet, it just sits ther on the shelf... lonely... 2. Death Note 9 + 10 - there's an issue here. I love death note, but I've only got up to 8. Why? I happen to have a friend who also loves death note who keeps loaning me the volumes as they come out. Now i feel like if I buy 9 and 10 Im wasting my money cuz I've already read them. It's so very confusing... >_< I think that's all for now... I'm mildly embarrassed by the fact that so many >_
24. With both music and movies, there's always a whole lot of stuff coming out ever-frequently. we can't always keep up, and sometimes we end up eyeballing a couple albums for a while, or waiting till you've got the extra cash for that season box-set. What are you looking to buy? Personally, I make these lists semi-compulsively all the damn time, so rather than waste my paper right now, sticking it in my jacket pocket, and forgetting it's there, I figured I'd give everyone the chance to post a list they can't forget here. My list: CDs 1. Type O Negative - Dead Again - Being that I'm a pretty big Type O fan, their newest release is a definite hotspot on my list. From what I've heard, the lyrics have a lot of Christian influence, which is far from my style, but you really can't go wrong with Type O. The two tracks I've heard so far were brilliant, so i'm sure this will be a spectacular release. 2. Ensiferum - Ensiferum/Iron - Ensiferum disks are rather hard to come by, which is a shame because they play some of the most grandois, uplifting heroic folk-metal ever to be created. I've heard quite a few trracks by them that I like from either CD, so if I ever spot one of them I'd be sure to scoop it right it. I'm leaning toward the ST cuz it has two of the songs I love, but the other one has Into Battle, the ultimate Viking anthem, so it won't be an easy choice. 3. Mogwai - Mr. Beast - I have a bit of a hang-up with this one. That being the fact that it is just under 45 minutes long. Customarily I never buy anything under 50 minutes long, but I have before with disks such as Pearls and Brass's The Indian Tower, and thats one of my alltime favorite CDs, so I suppose it could go well. Almost everything I've heard by this post-rock band blows me away. 4. Unearth - III - In The Eyes of Fire - It seems like a weird choice for me, seeing as it's a hardcore band and I hate hardcore, but these guys play some generally great music with outstanding riffage on certain tracks. This one is a maybe, really, if I have the extra dough. 5. Dream Theater - Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence - Their album Train of Thought is one that I consider one of my more wise purchases, but their earlier CD, Awake, is one of my least favorite. The thing about this is, ToT is considered their 'heavy' album, and since Awake is an example of their sound when not heavy, I'm scared to buy the other albums. Namely this one cuz it's 25 bucks (but two disks.) So far what i've heard was great, so I really do want to buy this. Later this year ther is a Dream Theater and an Opeth album slated for release as well, both of which I look forward to.
25. Alright, to kick things off, the beginning of episode two where it shows both Tsukasa and her sister in their own routine was absolutely brilliant, IMO. I love the comparison, because it reminds me of my own brother and I, me waking up at 3:30 and he at 7:30 and such XD. The part where Konata and Tsukasa are comparing their vacation doings had me laughing aloud the entire time! Konata just plucking away at the keyboard was absolutely hilarious (that was me this spring break!!!) and the end was the best part. some cameos here! Sgt. Kokoro, and Haruhi on DDR. I liked that one especially, cuz you just no tons of fanboys have made this work as well XD. Did anyone know what that 3D fighting game was? I love how the red shirt guy looks and sees Konata-chan and is just like 'uuuuuhhhhh' and leaves XD What I love about this show is that they take the sort of conversations we all have where we come up with our most brilliant ideas, and use them to be funny. Like the doctor thing - I swear I had an overly similar conversation less than 2 months ago with some girls at my lunch table. Also, the drill guy and chick with huge needle were freaking hilarious. I love how her boobs are all bouncy when she appears XD. I'd also like to take a second to say just how much I love Konata-chan. She's so short! (shorter than the charatristically short girl!) and adorable, with that long blue hair, I just wanna hugglez her!!! *ahem* Anywho, I like the way they decribe Konata's face 'super awesome!!!'. They sound so much like my friends and I, it becomes scary. Konata-chan also had some valid points on reading and what should be called real books (once again, a discussion I've had many times) Lucky Channel was funny, mostly when Akira-chan reacts to the kid's line. Her facial expressions kick ***. Overall, I loved this episode. There were a few slow moments, but the great parts make up for it. i'm definitely looking forward to episode 3.
