Great weapon. You give him AIDS, he blows your head of with a .346. 6 years later, BAM! Instant karma.
Well, the person who suggested it is one who might have cancer, so she said if she turns out to have it, she'd go around spraying people with AIDS XD. I can't get color to work in this post O_o I can :p. --Raiyuu

A friend of mine thought of the best weapon ever. A squirtbottle full of AIDS-infected blood. If someone pisses you off, you pushe the nozzle in their mouth and watch them freak out. Sweetest revenge ever.

This one was priceless. "Is there cow dick in my moustache?" (The conversation was about how processed food involves eating animal dick, yadda yadda yadda, I had food in my moustache while eating what I was referring to as 'cow dick' and thus the line came up. this is the boring part, though.) EDIT: Oh, and this one from my English teacher "B**** you can't throw!!!"
Except a guy with a gun.
That is, unless you're Sephiroth. My weapon of choice? Universe Implosion Machine (UIM). Gets rid of everyone at once, that way it's fair.

Oh, don't worry. Long as I'm the guy reviewing 90% of the poems in Anthology, you will not be let off easy, hehe. Just can't take it Now I'll just fake it I'd say this line sums up a lot of your poem pretty well, both in what it says and what it says. These two lines rhyme for only one reason -- you wanted them to rhyme. Read your poem. Notice that at a few parts there are rhymes that seem like they detract from the overall poem? For instance... No, don't you worry about me Though I doubt you would anyway I'm just unraveling at the seams The fabric of me fading away The last line sounds really awkward. Actually, this one's not even the rhym'e fault, it's just bad word order. Try "My fabric is being pulled away" or something of the sort. Try as hard as you can not to make the words sound weird. Scrawling the sonata of a failure I might drop the pen But I know that I'm just failing her. Using 'failing' right after 'failure' is not a good plan. you may not have even noticed in when writing the poem, which is why going over it a few times is important. There are any number of other words you could use. The deed is done, and so is the task. Just sounds cheesy, IMO. Overall, I think there are some things I do like about this. What I like is that you're trying to branch out with your rhyme scheme. Unfortuanetally, you did so utterly incorrectly, sacrificing coherency for attempted uniqueness. Next time, concentrate. Focus less on trying to be different, and more on trying to be good.

Okay, so i wanted to star my own webcomic. Of course, i don't have Photoshop, so really my idea was shot down before I even conceived it. In any event, the idea is, like many webcomics, gaming oriented, but there's also a lot of music influence involved. it revolves around myself, DB, and my constant struggle against boredom and looking for people with my taste in music. The first comic was when I decided to make a metal comic, before deciding it should be more gaming oriented. It's the only one I've inked/scanned and I never got to make touch-ups on it since microsoft Paint is a worthless piece of crap. I don't like my art, and I doubt anyone gets my humor. In any event... here's the first comic. I wanted to post it just in case someone was actually interested. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b269/MetalSonic700/comicthingy.png >_> _< Mod Edit: 2007DB, if you're going to have an image that stretches the layout of OB, just give a link instead. You make 56k users suffer unnecessarily and you make the boards look fugly. Thanks for understanding. - Retribution
Judging from what cancer typed, you are absolutely wrong. Inferiority complex is when you feel inferior to other people, not shy or awkward. All he needs to do is force himself to talk to people and eventually he'll feel more comfortable in social situations. Cancer, I think your fear stems from lack of experience, and because of that lack you're just not feeling all that sure of yourself. It's no big deal, and you can fix it pretty easily. I'd recommend you get a good friend to introduce you to new people. It takes the difficulty out of starting the conversation (ex: "I've known _____ for ____ years, how'd you know him?") and there's a crutch there for you. Don't feel like you need to dive into the deep end, wading is just fine.
Mind you, i know not the definition of the term, so I apologize for that. you get ym meaning, though, right? I don't think easily really is a good way to describe recovering sonfidence. a lot of these advices skip a few important steps. The whole initial problem was that he can't start conversations -- why tell him to when the whole point is that he can't? EDIT: same time post, he said what I meant in the 4th (i think) paragraph

funny how no one wants to hang out with a white guy, lol. Though I wholeheartedly agree. You know the motto 'no fro, not a bro'. That's what you get for de-blackinization.

I know that social skills aren't something you're given at birth, but I really have a problem socially I think. I like to talk to people, and never have a problem with conversations when I'm talking to friends, but I have a problem with starting conversations or going up to new people, and this sucks because there are many people I'd love to talk to but just feel too shy/akward to talk to them. Does anyone have any advice to help me out?
What you have, I believe, is an inferiority complex -- something I suffer from as well. Even if you don't think so directly, a part of you doesn't think you deserve to be... I guess you could say social. For instance, when you want to speak to someone, you instead ask yourself "why would they want to talk to me?" You might see a girl in a t-shirt of your favorite show, and want to say 'hey! I love ___' or something, but you stop yourself. You resist conversation for multiple reasons. It could be because you don't hold yourself in the same regards as other people, or it could be that you have an overwhelming fear of rejection in even the slightest fear. Things like these are brought about in a lot of ways. For instance, when I was growing up I had a lot of pressure to do well in school. Now, I didnt really have any friends as I was the weird/dorky kid. The only place I could turn to for atention, which everyone needs, was my family. Because doing well in school was the only way I could keep my paretns happy in my mind, it became something I worried about, and when I didn't do well, I felt ultimately rejected. In that feeling, it's like no one out there cares about you, and the only ones who do are making your life miserabe. I built myself an extreme fear of rejection. A fear of having to feel that pain. As a result, I can't even talk to some people freely for fear that they will shun me, or that I'll speak incorrectly. I'built my confidence a lot, though, by talking to people that I either don't like or don't care if they hate me. For instance, if I hang out with someone with opposing views to me, or a personality that clashes with mine, I know that we will never get along, so I'll say whatever I want to them. It's helped me get used to talking to people, and I've even begun to make far more friends, even with many of those people I can't stand, lol.

For some reason, Joe felt oddly comfortable. The 'infiltrtion' of Alpha Afflictus, as he now felt fit to call it, ended on a surprising, strange, and in the end rather easing note. He knew that others were probably on the move, and that he was in so far over his head it was insane. Now he found himself in the company of three strangers who he was suddenly being associated with despite knowing notthing about. He didn't even remember this Christina girl having been there before. Each of these people seemed obscure to him. One man had summoned a freakish power, another had a sword with some sort of strange abilities, and the girl looked to be from out of town. Compared to them, Joe felt like a normal city-slicker. And yet, back there... yes, he knew he'd felt some strange power within him. The image of all those bullets frozen in midair burned in his mind. Without even having had a goal in te first place, Joe suddenly had people alighning them with himself. It felt cool, being in this strange place and knowing tat he had just become a part of something bigger than he could wrap his mind around. Part of him was giddy, where the oher was frightened that he knew nothing of the situation. He had no reason to, but he suddenly felt like part of a group. Already he had found some trust in Adam from their teamwork earlier, and the apparently powerful Zeke had just sved his life. He looked around at the others sitting on the couches about the living room. Christina seemed to be having thoughts similar to his own. He wondered what strange and amazing powers she might have. "So," Zeke begins, "What exactly are you guys after, if you don't mind my asking."
"Carpe" & "Death Rides a Horse" by Russian Circles. Both are post-rock-metal crossovers and they are nothing short of spectacular. I have had their EP Enter for a while now, listened to it and really liked it, but only put it on every once in a while. Now I listen to it pretty much every day.
Both of these songs are amazing -- I've been listening to them on their purevolume account since I can't justify buying such a short release, lol. I like that they're heavy but, unlike most post-metal bands, have no lyrics. Also, I've had the song Lazy Eye by Silversun Pickups stuck in my head for a while. They remind me of Coheed and Cambria a bit, so I'm interested in hearing more by them.

Managed to pick up Ayreon - The Universal Migrator Part 1&2 for only 10 bucks. It's alright, but not quite the beauty that is The Human Equasion. So far, I've liked a few songs on there, but none were overwhelming. My favorites have to be My House On Mars, The First Man On Earth, and, of course Through The Wormhole. Worth checking out if you can find it as cheap as I did. Also, just listened to that sng by Explosions in the Sky. Great song, one of the best post-rock performances I've heard. Not as heavy as my usual tastes, but still a moving piece.

"Well, you're the one with the sword..." Joe muttered in return. Adam turned the blade a bit, uncomfortable. "Don't you ****** move!!" cried a terrified police officer. "They're terrified... this isn't good..." both teenagers stood back to back, facing pointed guns on three sides. It looked like a no-win situation. Adam was the first to speak, concealing his voice in a low wisper. "What's your name, guy?" "Joe. Joe Haughm." "Joe... I have an attack that can take out one group in under a half a second, but wil leave me completely vulnerable long enough to be shot. Do you have any powers?" Joe tilted his head aside a bit. IT had only just occured to him that Adam had been using some sort of magic. For a moment he was stunned silent, but for some reason the realization didn't shock him... it seemed utterly natural. Powers? ... Joe felt a tug on hs soul. For a moment, the world seemed to go quiet and Joe closed his eyes, blockingout the whole situation. I feel it, he thought. Slowly, he raised his hand and grabbed the cross around his neck tightly. He could feel a current moving through him. Slowly again, he reopened his eyes. What he saw when he opened them was 24 bullets stopped in mid-air right in front of him. The three officers on the stairs above him were in awe, and almost immediately Adam used his Silfarion sword to charge at the officers on the lower steps. Joe was startled and slightly dazed, looking around to see what was going on. To his right, where the hole in the wall was, a bunch of bullets were frozen in midair as well. Before he had time to think he heard Adam call. "Hurry!" Without thinking, Joe grabbed the rail of the staircase, and hopped over. He dropped and entire flight and landed effortlessly. he hadn't noticed this, though, as he was busy following Adam out of the building as quickly as possible.

Just as the words left the mouth of the middle-aged man at the table, a siren suddenly started blaring over the speakers in the room. CODE RED---CODE RED cried an automated voice. All heads turned to Joe. Mustering up a sudden courage, Joe said plainly. "I swear to god that's not my fault." Each of the board members rose and bustled quickly through the door past Joe. "I will deal with you after I find out what business is going on below" one man said to him. "You will remain here." Like hell he was. Joe waited a minute for them to leave the hall, then bolted through the door. Wrong move. Waiting just outside were two security officers. "Listen, kid," said a tall skinny man in blue uniform. His face was trustworthy, but the other officer, who was mid-eight and chubby, lookd like he didnt really care. "We're gunna need you to stay right there, or we'll be detaining you. If you run, I will be ready to use my weapon." By the tone of the officer's voice, joe could tell he wasn;t the type to harm a young man, but the other officer might pull a gun out in second's time. While he thought it would be smart to stay here, he worried for the consequences of the men's return. So far it looked like nothing good was coming of his plan. Plan B, he thought. Mustering up all his strength, he sent his foot sailing into the fat cop's crotch. With a groan of pain, the officer fell to the ground. "Don't move!" The other officer commanded after a moment of surprise, but the teenager was already bolting down hallways, zigzagging his path so that if the cop was afer him he wouldn't be able to keep up. The officer gave chase, but lost sight of Joe. He headed for the elevator, but there was no one at the door. Meanwhile, Joe was already making hs way back down fights after flight of stairs when suddenly there was an immense sound and the wall to his left erupted just ahead of him. Frozen, Joe watched chunks of plaster fky outward and crumble, and the man -- no, this was only a boy -- with the sword he'd seen earlier came flying through.

Joe took a deep breath and with an air of calm intensity strode through the doors of Alpha Afflictus. Directly in front of him was a desk at which a woman sat, plucking away at a keyboard. At first, Joe thought to approach the secratary and ask for someone, but it occured to him that he didnt even know who he could ask for. She hadn't noticed him yet... act quickly! Moving in a manner which kept him rather unnoticable, he quickly made his way around the room too an entryway into a long hall without attracting the slightest attention from the woman at the desk. Now slightly frightened, he hurriedly made his way down the hall checking the tags on doors to see what they were. Eyeing a staircase, he shifted down the hall to the end and began ascending. Each doorway which led out onto another floor had a small window on it. Most rooms were simply rooms of cubicles and offices. At one point he could have sworn he saw a man with a sword on his belt, but he thought the fear may hae simply been getting to him. In any event, he had no time to ponder it. With strangely little effort, he made his way all te way up to the top floor. Shadily sneaking around the hallways, he spotted some security guards coming his way. Having seen this many times in movies, he immediately panicked and ducket into the first doorway he could find. There was a moment of silence. Joe turned to find himself in the board room with eight awestruck faces gaking at him. He was paralyzed with fear. Finally one of the finely dressed commitee members spoke. "Um... who's kid is this?"

This is honestly a travesty. How Hilary Duff, an ugly, no-talent, uninteresting waste of the television screen can beat out the legendary Micheal Jackson is beyond me. If I got to hang out with Micheal Jackson, I'd first slap the white offa him, and then we could go dance and sing in high-pitched voices, turn into wolves and set off into the night. A night with Hilary Duff? What would you talk about? What would you do? Average crap. With Micheal Jackson, it'd be cazy as all hell... and that's what's up.

The sound of heavy rain washing the city streets was overwhelming as Joe laid in the backseat of his car. He began to awaken, his eyes flickering. Taking a moment to adjust and realize why he was covered in jackets, he rose to a seated position. Rain on the hood of his old hand-me-down SAAB filled his ears. Slowly he began to remove his clothes, reaching into the trunk to retrieve his change of attire. After slipping on a black hoodie with a logo of The Mars Volta and some black slacks, tying on his shoes, and sliding a hat with a Tool logo on, he headed out of the car. Instantly he has drenched from head to tow, but it didn?t really concern him. In his mind, it was always raining. Joe made his way down the city street and slid into the nearest coffee shop. At his table he contemplated the plan he had decided on. He had absolutely no idea if it was going to work, but he didn?t have much of a choice. This was all he had left. No happiness awaited him elsewhere. Even if he went home now, there would be trouble. After skipping school to steal his mother?s car and drive a few hundred miles to the city, he was already in enough trouble as it was. Even now he wondered if the police were after him. Hopefully, he thought, he wouldn?t need the car again. The sun had pierced the rain clouds and driven them away as Joe left the coffee shop and headed once more through the busy streets. Before long he found himself before a massive building, staring up at it?s moniker. Alpha Afflictus His hand raised to a chain around his neck and grasped the symbol which hung from it. It was a silver cross, engraved on which was the name ?Maria?. ?Let?s go,? he whispered to himself, and strode through the front door.

Okay, I find this strange. You see, recently my brother got a Mac (OSX Tiger I think) and I've been using it instead of my mom's XP-equipped system lately. On said Mac, I find that if I click on the OB banner/logo thing (you know, with the volcano and the treebranch... just scroll up a little) It produces a little transparent image of it that I can drag around. If I drag it down, it moves the page down. If I drag it to my favorites bar, it asks if I want to add it to my favorites. If I move it to my dock, it becomes my new homepage. It's really quite nifty, actually. My question is, did yall do this, or am I just dumb and I can do this anywhere? EDIT: Ah, nevermind, I tried it out elsewhere and it worked. Looks like I posted to soon, lol. Still cool, though.

My fear? Cockroaches. I see one and I get extremely paranoid to the point where I won't leave my bed. If I was in 1984, they could've scared the rebel out of me instantly, lol. I'm also terrified of needles. Last time I had to get a shot I was 12, I cried for 15 minutes before the shot, and 15 minutes afterword, lol. Didn't even hurt, just was overwhelming. Also, I have a terminal fear of rejection. Always deeper, never higher.

I find it funny how we all say we wouldn't be much different, and yet we have absolutely no idea what things would be different. I don't think it's even possible for either gender to say. We'll never know, lol. I hate questions like this >_< Also, to those who think only a few things would be different, take more things into consideration. PMS, pregnancy, etc. It's all gotta effect you somehow. Because Adahn has set this up where we live in the same exact situation, it makes things a little easier, because we don't need to worry that we know we'd be different. If I were a girl, I might be different in some ways, but I thik I'd be the same personality-wise. Still weird, still strange... but also a lot more flirtatious. I think I'd be more touchy-feely. Also, if we're assuming I keep my personality, I'd still be attracted to girls, right? So I'd have that whole thing going on/dealing with. There's no way of knowing what that would be like. I know I'd pay more attention to how I dress/look, because of what I've said above. In this and my first post. And that's all I can determine from my little knowledge.

Mine has always been hill-eye-an. Whylt this doesn't make sense in conjuncture with Hyrule, we should all turn to the Japanese direct translation before making a statement. English has too many pronunciations, in Japan 'ki' and 'ki' always sound the same lol.

Ah! I love it! I imagine Selena as being short with long hair and wearing a nightgown as she floats around fuming and being adorably angry. Which anime inspired these visions in me, I do not know, but it's adorable XD. I LOVE IT! Vincent is back and while he's not fluttering about, he's still awesome and for some reason looks somewhere between dante and Parco Falgore. Odd. ?I tried calling, but the connection wouldn?t hold.? He eyed a telephone that had been forcefully removed from the jack in the wall. I laughed at that. Awesome. You are awesome.
Gender is a social construct, not some kind of huge, inbuilt, all-consuming factor that negates everything else that makes you who you are. If you have a strong personality, it'll come through regardless of your physical sex. To me, it makes a lot more sense to find the answer to this question by asking how you personally might be affected by social expectations for the opposite sex--as opposed to saying "this is what girls do" as if they're a different species whose behavior can be summed up with such simplistic generalizations. What do girls do when they're alone? Well, gee, it varies. EDIT: Yeah, Ken said it better. :p ~Dagger~
I could have gone into the complexes of societarial influence, but all of us are comppletely aware of that. The qestion was 'what' not 'why'. And anyway, I said the genders were mostly alike. I can't help but sound strange -- this is how my mind documents observations.
