1. Well... Back in 2001 I saw The Big Day Offest. No one really mattered except Slipknot XD. Now, I'm not much of a Slipknot fan, but their show was freaking great. When two of the dudes got up on the big amps and jumped off into the crowd, the security guys were going crazy. There was lots of fire and stuff which was cool. That was probably the best individual performance I've seen. The other would be Ozzfest 2006, which featured a myriad of metal bands. What made this cool was my brother and I during the main stage performances. Unfortuanetally, we missed Dragonforce because we were backstage with Bad Acid Trip, but we made up for it the rest of the time. OUR CROWD WAS LAME!!! Every single person just SAT there. All the way up until Disturbed came out everyone was sitting down! There were only 2 people who stood up, headbanging like madmen and throwing our devil horns about like wild -- my brother and I. Some lady actually had the nerve to ask us to sit down during Avenged Sevenfold. Some guy comes over to us and says, "You guys kick *** man! You don't have to sit down for anyone!" And boy, we didn't. We also got props from some stoner dude during System of a Down. Couldn't get up for days afterwords XD.
2. Then why don't you marry it?
3. I've been rather bothered by this system myself. While I enjoy the prospect of downloading demos and trailers to my 360, I'm shocked to see that some may cost money! Why the hell would I pay for a demo or even worse-- a trailer?! I'll just rent the damn game! Online games are bad enough already. To play Phantasy Star Universe we had to shell out 80 bucks for a wireless tranceiver since the only good computer is on a different floor, had to buy an XBox Live account, had to buy a Hunter's Liscence for $10 which is only one month, and the game itself costed 60 bucks! If it starts getting worse, I'm going to be seriously pissed off. I don't have the dough to put up with this crap.
4. Boogiepop Phantom was an amazing series, but there are certain things I wish they would've done with it. The most major thing I wish they would've done is span out the parts with fum-fum a little more. We do see the little butterfly girl throughout the series, but the story with fum-fum seemed to be all crammed into the upper half of the series. Like the first half was all totally different stories with small connections, while the second half was all very heavily connected. I think they should've mixed it up a bit more. Also, the episode about the girl
who was killed
and her mom
reads the diary
seemed sort of useless. It was good, but I think they should've made it tie in better with the rest of the plots.
Keep in mind that not everyone has seen the series as much as you have. If you don't hide plot elements with spoiler tags, you might ruin the series for someone who is about to watch it. -r2
5. Okay, this was mine 2 weeks ago and I'm listening to it now, and it REALLY deserves recognition so without further ado. Maps And Atlases - Every Place Is A House - This is a brilliant song woven from M&A's signature tap-estry with rediculously fast guitar work. Not only are the guitars amazing, but the song has a lot of soul and, in my opinion, the music is really deep despite having a lighthearted feel - I absolutely love it. Plus the singing is great, I love this guy's voice. The part in the middle where it cuts out the drums and bass and instead has clapping is the best.
6. Well... theres several this week. Isis - Weight - This is a rather calm, 10-minute song that is very soothing but still cool. It's danced on with female vocals singing 'all in all in all in a day' and later 'a day it changes everything' and is very pretty. Great song. Every week for the past few weeks I've had a song from this CD stuck in my head... Pearls And Brass - The Mirror - With some truly amazing riffage and well-sung vocals, this is one of the coolest songs I've ever heard, as much of The Indian Tower CD is. Also helped inspire parts of the novel Im pumping out for NaNoWriMo. And as of a few minutes ago... Agalloch - The Desolation Song - An incredibly sad, but unbelievably pretty song. Sung softly over folkish acoustics and a wind-ish sound. I want to cry when I hear it. Loooost in the desolation of liiiife...
7. The Steve Irwin joke was extremely tame in my opinion. Did anyone see tonights episode? Where it shows full bodies of Miss Garrison and 'her' boyfriend having raging sex? Or maybe the full-on shot of her horribly disfigured breasts? Now THAT was crazy XD
8. Well, see, I mostly RPGs. And don't get me wrong, RPGs do have some pretty darn good music sometimes. There are even those that I thought about buying the OSTs for. But I almost never listen to my video game music when I'm playing them. I get really bored by BGMs, and even without sound effects, they grate on my nerves. Instead, I listen to the many CDs on my computer. As far as favorite game STs... Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is a good choice as it has some really fun, cheesy rock songs, namely those provided by Crush 40. Shadow Hearts Covenant has some pretty great songs, especially the battle music on both disks. They are probably my 2 picks for best game songs. The combat music from Halo is simply MAGICAL. But the ALLTIME best ST of course goes to The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time which blows me away continually. All of the ocarina songs are classic and great, and I can't count the number of times Zelda's Lullaby has been stuck in my head. Honorable Mentions: Otherworld, the theme, and the hymn from FF10, Tales of Symphonia, and anything I forgot XD
9. Last year a friend of mine actually succeeded in doing this with a pretty good fantasy tale which i dont know if he ever finished. I tried... only lasted about 4 days XD Was having heart problems at the time >_> It was a story about government experiments in the bermuda triangle... didn't work out. Anyway, now that I'm more proficient and less weighed down, Ill assuredly try again! Good luck to all of you as well!
10. When I saw this title, I thought it would be akin to the boy in Boogiepop Phantom who wants to get rid of all the useless things in the world. I sometimes yearn for that power. Anyway, there are plenty of useless things. Things which distract us from our dreams. And yet such dreams could never be formulated without their foundations in said pointless things. These things then become the opposite of pointless, and in a sense, nothing is truly pointless. I digress. As for pointless things... Scroll Lock. I'm not even entirely sure what it does, I never press it really and I can't figure out the difference in having it on or off.
11. Yes, this is a statistic I've heard much about. Many Japanese kids buckle under pressure or are bullied and jump off their school roofs. It's a common theme in some anime, too. I don't blame the kids... I also don't blame the parents for being at least mildly strict... take a look at America's schoo system - we don't put much pressure on our children at all, and we have TONS of dropouts. In Japan, dropping out is a big deal, while here it's commonplace. Like most things in life, the boundary is blurred and common people just don't realize or don't know how to change whats wrong. It's a pity, really. Anyway, for a good look at the pressure on students in japan, go read Boogiepop And Others, in which its a major subplot.
12.
Parabola - Named after the Tool song. Possibly my favorite Tool song of all time, so I decided that it was gonna be my name. AC!D!C - Acidic. One part MG: AC!D one part !C. I really liked the way Konami reversed the Is' so I decided to make a play on acid by doing the little I thing. Liked it for a while.
In response to Parabola - Awesome! Parabola is one of my favorite Tool songs as well! In response to AC!D!C - O_o ALL THIS TIME!!! I've always thought it was the band! I always wondered what the hell was with those damn exclaimation points! The constant struggle of pronunciation... finally the truth is known. Anywho... My name was Flourecent Optic Yellow for a while, because I had learned about it in Drivers Ed and thought it was cool. The novelty wore off quickly hehe... So now I'm 2006DigitalBoy although my name is actually shortened and should be 21st Century Digital Boy. This is the title of a Bad Religion song which I absolutely love, and feel it fits me.
13. Thanks you so much! I'll put it up right away! I love the way you put Nothing and Crying on there, too! Just one thing - is it possible to get the "?!" in there?
14. Wait... rewind here, what are you talking about? Norse nazis?!
15. All I have to say is this: If I have to go to a class with only dudes, I will either get surgery of shoot myself.
16. Okay, I'm not good at making my own banners as all can see, so I need some help! If someone would make me a bangin Boogiepop banner and avi I'd be mad grateful! I prefer lots of purple, and silver text "Do you think to do nothing when you see a fellow human crying?!" and on there somewhere, preferedly in diffrerent font, but not too different "21st Century Digital Boy" Also, I'd like the text to be readable, but take up minimal space.
17.
Way ahead of you been listening to Isis for a few years myself. Their newest releases is excellent as well, have you heard it?
Well, I've listened to most of it on youtube but only once. I only just bought Oceanic last week (all they had at planet music) and I like it a lot so far, but have only listened to it like 3 times. I definitelly like "From Sinking" which I've listened to on purevolume many times. Their epic-ness is great -- Red Sparrowes is great as well. Returning to Agalloch, which CD do you guys reccomend the most?
18. I listened to Odal and now I think I'm gunna buy The Mantle next time I have money. Once again, they remind me of Isis with their heavy focus on music and repetition, with a mellow, yet heavy and epic feel. And now, listening to As Embers Dress The Sky, I see that they have some kick-*** riffs in there as well, and I like the singer voice. Once again I would compare it to Isis in the way that it is striking, but very buried by the music. I'd definitelly clarify this band as worth looking into not only for fans of epic, dark metal, but for fans of sound-filled beauties. Also, you guys should check out Isis. PS: XD they got the opera lady singing
19. I just listened to 4 of their songs, and they're pretty damn good, more mellow than I'dve expected from you two :P I really liked A Desolation Song, great acoustic track. I only wish the singer didn't sound so bored at parts. Their other songs were pretty sweet, very dark and that is kewl. I may actually pick up one of these guys' albums if I can find more of their songs and listen to them. In some ways (not a lot, but some) they remind me of Isis.
20.
You'd rather kiss grandma, therefore you're more attracted to grandma. You silly silly man... STAY AWAY FROM MY GRANDMOTHER! And as for the science stuff....you really are a horrible comedian. You can't expect somebody to take something as a joke when you speak of it so seriously. It's not like i can hear your voice and recognize your sarcasm. And if it were a joke...you gotta know when to let it go, you rode it out too long. Are you implying that i have no sense of humor? Oh deer. Later.
You DON'T have a sense of humor (as you've proven time and again)... OR even remedial intelligence judging by your opening statement... plus, this is WAY off topic. Anyway, I think people should have the right to do whatever they want to their body. I'm not just saying that because I want to see more fake breasts either, because personally I am repulsed by them. People who do to much to their bodies (fakes, zombies, celebrities, etc.) just come off as shallow to me. Don't get me wrong though, I am shallow as well. If a totally ugly girl can make herself cute, thumbs-up, I don't mind, I'd even date her. So... I guess my hypocritical opinion is mute. Angelina Jolie creeps me out... end of story.
21. Rigid beliefs that only destruction breeds solace Feeling only that ones purpose is to advance And wondering How could this body be discarded over a triviality When humankind needs all it can get? And where else to place this vessel is there? Is it a lack of self-confidence? Or is it a lack of caring? Without the necessary passion Nothing can be created Can it? Merely living in what I am given Never forcing any to allow me to live I pray to allow myself to follow a dream. But if I could say that I had a dream, it would be to sing in a band. Where does my dream's beginning await me? Only I can know.
22. *will remain intangible as possible* What screwed me up was learning what I am, what I am capable of, and what all people are. Even though I consider myself to have recovered from a year-long hiatus from happiness, I still find myself utterly disappointed in myself nearly if not every day. I have the power to follow a dream. I can start my life now. Unlike so many others who are only bothered with being happy for the moment, I know exactly what to do to achieve long-term happiness. I have a goal... a passage in life. Why can't I follow it? Why am I standing on the road, deviating, returning, and only taking brief steps every now and them only to stumble backward? I tell myself I've come so far, but why am I not making progress? It pains me to know that I care more about a moment than a lifetime. That doing nothing takes precedence over progress and I'm to blame. I lack passion... I find no true beauty in anything because my trust is so wilted that all I can sense is the unglyness seeping from the planet. I tell myself if I had my way, everyone would be gone. We'd all be dead. This makes me weak. I know that escaping hardship and finding happiness are very different, and yet I put the happiness of others above my own and beg my own mind to never intrude. Will I ever take charge? Can I do what none of my family could and actually do something?
23. You can't get out of school for that? I'd go.. its worth one day of makeup work... Anyway, only very recently did I start to get into music. As I did, all the bands I found out about were just having tours it seems. First one was Coheed and Cambria who, when I first heard of them, were touring with Avenged Sevenfold. I had only heard one Coheed CD, which I did like, but I'd nevre heard anything by Avenged really. About a month later I fell in love with Coheed and had their 3rd cd and I also had picked up Avenged and liked them, but when I looked it up, I was too late to see them. Also, I am a HUGE Tool fan as some may know, and I only found out a while ago that they were coming to my area soon and the only tickets left are like 100 dollar lawn tickets (hell no...) even my assistant principal has tickets!!!
24. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, I guess they're less popular than I thought... Red Sparowes: A supergroup consisting of the guitarist from Isis and Neurosis (sp?), Red Sparrowes is a project in lyric-less epics which for the most part are pretty damn good. Their first Cd, At the Soundless Dawn is great. It stands in the same vein as other musical rock bands, but has a very calm, relaxed vibe. The guitars are 100% brass pedal and while I'm not 100% sure what that means, I will say that none of the guitars are in shred-mode :animeswea if that makes sense. These guys are nothing all that special, but the epic nature of their tracks is what makes me love them. Also, they have a lot of unique effects reminiscent of the Mars Volta but without the near-comatose length. Their second major release, Every Red Heart Shines Toward The Red Sun, is good, but it's in some ways more of the same. Unless you particularly liked the first one, I wouldn't totally recommend the second. Also, I listened to Russian Circles on Purevolume and they sounded great. I'm now listening to Unwed Soldier and they seem to resemble Red Sparowes a lot.
25. -Del tha Funkee Homosapien (very fun rapper. I need more hip-hop) FUN FACT: Del the Funkee Homosapien is Russel on the first Gorillaz album (you may know him by the song Clint Eastwood - one of the few songs loved by fans of rock, rap, AND pop) He's also one of the members of Handsome Boy Modeling School who have connections to all sorts of great bands such as The Mars Volta.
