Yeah, I saw the episode last night, too. While I thought it was funny because I'm a huge fan of Family Guy, I felt that a lot of the jokes went through a little too quickly as if they were trying too hard to get out laughs at a fast pace and finish the show on time. In fact, they aparently didn't even have time for the opening theme song, haha. I agree that the premiere was superior to this one, but let's face it: the first one was pretty damn awesome, lol. At some parts I was wondering if they went a little too far (like
Peter asking for the teacher's picture to paste to the back of Louis' head
, and
him transforming into a tampon and waiting in the girl's purse
), but I don't really care. lol I actually think that this episode might have pushed me over the edge for choosing Stewie as my absolute favorite character. Until now, I think the producers did a good job of getting you to like just about all of them the same. I've also noticed that in the past two episodes, we really haven't seen much of the neighbors, like Quagmire, Joe, or Cleaveland. But they weren't in every episode in the past, either, so I can't expect more than they've given us thus far, heh. EDIT: LOL, I said tampoon.

You didn't like Waterboy? We're talking about like the lowest of the low, worst of all time, downright horrible films that we hated with a passion, right? I haven't seen Waterboy in a while, but I have the movie on VHS laying around somewhere and I thought it was really funny. It's not my favorite movie of all time or anything, but I'd say it was pretty good overall. lol As for my own three least favorite movies ever.. well, I don't really want to think about it, haha. I could come up with some pretty bad ones if you give me some time, but chances are I'll either completely forget about a horrible movie or won't sit all the way through it to see if it redeems itself.

Just to note, we don't allow HTML in signatures, so you'll have to impliment the preset vb code. ;)

Okay, a few things. First of all, you may only have one banner in your signature at a time. Please remove the one you like the least! ~_^ Secondly, you must wait at least a week before requesting another banner to show gratitude to the person who made it for you. Topic closed.

Sounds like someone has a thing for anime girls in short shorts. ~_^ Unfortunately, here is not the place to ask. I suppose you can try googling a description of her, but I don't see this generating any discussion, much less critique for something in the art forum.

2003? OMG WE'VE GONE BACK IN TIME. ..let's not.

I saw the movie with my mom and brother on Friday since we didn't have school. I thought it was.. a good movie, I suppose. I mean, it was interesting and kept my attention, so I liked it, but I think that I was expecting a little more from it. And in my opinion, the trailer made it look a lot more fantastic than what really delivered. The movie tended to skip around a bit more than I would have liked, I think. They were going from one place to another and I wasn't quite understanding why, so I guess the transitions could have been done a little better, since I could tell that they were just taking particular parts from the book. I also think that the character could have been a little more surprised at what was going on, and some of the jokes weren't that funny. But that's just me. :/
There was one thing though that I hope doesnt happen in the future. They used like every character that only appeared in like two episodes i.e. the evil monkey, the old perverted dude, the deaf greased guy, and others. As of yet that was my only complaint and Im sure it wont happen frequently.
Yeah, I noticed that too, but I imagine that it was all in the excitement of being back on the air. The extras most likely won't appear in all of the episodes, though I do remember the greased up deaf guy saying, "It's good to be back, America. See ya'll next week!" Whether he meant himself or the show in general, we'll soon find out. lol

I just saw the new Family Guy (okay, it may have been a few hours ago, sue me..), and watched it again since I had taped it. Wow. Pardon my French, but.. omg lik it wuz SO AEWSOME!1!1!1!!1! All of my fears about changes from the last time it was shown have been put to rest. Of course, I am a little biased since I would put Family Guy as my favorite American cartoon of all time, and recently watched through my DVDs during the past few weeks, but I would say that not only did it reach my expectations, but it exceeded them. If you loved Family Guy already, you will not be disapointed. The jokes were plentiful and halarious, which is true to its past and is great for us.
Crucify this! XD!!!
I won't go into what it was all about just now, but maybe someone else would be willing to. lol One thing, though. During a commercial, they had this ad that said, "New Family Guy, buy it today!" Are the DVDs already out?! O_o;

Art if anyone uses IM stationary you should go here
Syk3 replied to chaoschris89's topic in Creative Works
Chaos, this is clearly a presentation of advertising your website (or your mom's, same difference). First of all, there are too many images on the site to be able to conveniently comment or critique a single one, not to mention the fact that you need to have a certain program or something to be able to open a given picture after clicking. If you want to post images individually, that's fine and will allow members to easily provide feedback. But even then, it's not your work. And besides, if there's adult content, you shouldn't even be showing it in the first place. Topic closed. Please read through the rules. -
love the gray backgrounds and all much better then i can do all end up hurting people eyes and making them blind
Please explain what you love about the backgrounds in particular, and why you think that they fit with the rest of it. Critique is what we're looking for here, people. If it's not benefiting the artist, it's not benefiting anyone.

... Somebody slap me and tell me this is just a bad dream.

Syk3 replied to chaoschris89's topic in Creative Works
Ignore him, he wants you to comment and critique his artwork. Chaos: Please keep in mind that we don't allow test threads. ~_^ -

Yes, like Nashville was saying, double posting is against the rules, and can be avoided simply by using the Edit button. But seeing as you're new, I'll let it go this time. ~_^ Just make sure it doesn't happen in the future, and just to be on the same side, please look through the other rules and stickies.
-
Jahjahwarrior17, I don't want to see you double post again. Two posts back to back are bad enough, but three? Please use the Edit button to add what you want to say, and read the rules in case you are unclear of anything else. With that said, I think what you're trying to do is use the banner on a different message board, right? If so, it wouldn't work by uploading it here and attaching from somewhere else. You'd have to put it on an image site, like you were talking about before.

Okay, I'm going to close this as soon as I reply, and if you have any further questions, please feel free to PM me. This thread has gone on long enough with the thought in mind that this really doesn't qualify as a thread that portrays artwork for people to critique. ~_^ I couldn't really tell whether you were originally talking about signature as in the bit that goes below your post, or signature as in the banner in your signature, but if you wanted to know how to upload your banner, I suggest you read this thread (
uh nice picture
This is a perfect example of something you should never do. We're asking for comments and critique here, not an offhand remark. I highly suggest that you thuroughly look through this thread: READ ME. ..and take a look at some examples around the forum.

We actually have a forum specifically intended for improving or, in general, working on your own created manga. You may continue discussion there. ^_^ Topic moved to Manga Workshop.

I'm really not too sure where Art Studio comes into play here. Perhaps if we were commenting or critiquing the piece itself.. but that kind of thing won't be beneficial to the artist, since this is a picture you found on the internet somewhere. We could leave it open for identification purposes, but Google should be more than efficiant for that, and topics with questions that can be answered with a little searches certainly are not allowed. My guess is that, if looking turns up nothing, that it's most likely an original piece. If anyone has more information, you're welcome to PM Luna.
-
This really isn't the place to advertise your work, and seeing as this is your only post, I'm doubting you came here for any other reason. If you do end up staying, I recommend placing this type of thing in your signature, or perhaps make threads to show examples of your work for feedback and critique.
I mean, I had the english subtitles right on the bottom while watching it in english, they didn't sinc at all! Not only that... but they added crap in there that they never said...
I just thought I'd comment on this portion real quick. You will never find an anime where the subtitles and English voice overs match up unless it's a movie that was shown in theaters here in America [and even then, it's rare]. There are plenty of reasons for it, so there's no use complaining about them since it's practically unavoidable. First off, the subtitles were created based on the Japanese version, translating them as best they can directly from the original script. The voice-overs, on the other hand, are done with the moving of the mouths in mind. Obviously a direct translation won't fit in very well [think stereotypical kung fu dubbings], so they have to splice around the words a little bit to make them fit, and sometimes they switch it around a bit more simply to make more sense to an English-speaking audience. A lot of people complain that cultural references are lost in the dubbing, or that things are edited, but most companies aren't going to change the content of the dialogue much, if at all. :/ But yeah, the English voices in Hellsing do kinda suck.. or maybe that was just the whole content *ZING*. I haven't watched it in Japanese, though, so I can't compare. lol

I recently went to this Anime Film Festival in DC, and they were showing four movies back to back for free, which was really cool. I believe it was.. Tokyo Godfathers, Ghost in the Shell 2, A Tree of Palm, and Apple Seed. I own Tokyo Godfathers, so I didn't show up until the second one, and my mom had to leave early so I didn't get to see Apple Seed. In any case, I just wanted to notify this message to anyone that I can: If you have the chance to see A Tree of Palm, RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. QUICKLY. This movie was likely one of the most boring anime movies I have ever seen. I almost fell asleep numerous times, and sitting in that chair for over two hours made my *** hurt. >_o Most of the content and story really made no sense at all, like they were just inserting random things for the Hell of it. It was just like, "why is this so trippy and what is the point?" Basically, the movie was a Japanese interpretation of Pinnochio, which does sounds intruiging at first, and there's a boy made out of different parts who wants to become a real boy. As his journey progresses, however, over and above the ability to understand what's going on, you really come to a point where they don't fully explain things and leave you to just assume that things are really strange in this story. I'll probably post a more positive response later, but I just wanted to tell you guys about this title in particular.
