I've been playing Extreme like crazy, and just unlocked Drop the Bomb which is aparently aquired after 85 songs. Add that to your list of games that offer the original Drop the Bomb. :) I also borrowed the song lists on Extreme from DDR Freak and made it all in one list, in alphabetical order. I'll make the unlockables spoilers for those who want to find them out for themselves. .59 - dj TAKA
321STARS (20 songs)

A - D.J. lol Other than being encredibly vague in asking for a banner, don't you already have a thread asking for a Naruto one? For shame.

I was rewatching A New Hope today, and I have a question in general about something C-3PO says rather early on. On the rebel ship when it's under attack, he says something like "the princess won't be able to escape this time" but when R2 plays the message for Luke and Luke asks who the woman is, 3PO just says "someone of high importance I guess." Was he just playing stupid, or did he know that there was a princess but didn't know who she was? O.o On a side note, I'm part of the way through The Empire Strikes Back, and it's awesome of course.

With a large amount of new members requesting banners, it is understandable to assume that there may be some confusion as to how you add it to your signature. Below are a few points that I would like to cover regarding problems that have arose in this forum in the past, and what the membership can do to prevent it from happening in the future. When requesting an image of a particular theme, please include the franchise in the title of your thread. For example, if you wanted a splash for your website that has Dragonball Z characters in it, instead of writing "splash request", you would make the title "Dragonball Z splash request". This way, your thread is more likely to be answered quickly, and the people who want to put together these pieces for you won?t have to wade through dozens of "can you make me something?" to find a thread that may appeal to their talent or interests. Try to keep in mind that this is a request forum. I have been seeing a lot of topics where someone would make an entirely new thread to give someone else an image. If someone was to request an art piece, you should post your finished product in their thread rather than make a new one. Had the request been done elsewhere, then so should the transaction. Otherwise, you may post it in the Art & Design forum, and get feedback and comments in the process. Threads that bypass this rule will be closed. Double posting has become an issue as well, to an extent. Just as the double posting rule applies all over the boards, you should not be doing it in this forum, either. Some members feel the need to post five minutes after they make a request thread, asking why no one has responded, often using merely one-word posts. Posting a second time will not speed up the process in the slightest, so it is hardly useful. The people who are nice and willingly enough to fulfill your request will post it when they can; they could even be making it while you are posting again. Just try to be patient when waiting for your image, because your second message will be deleted anyway. If you wish to add something to the request, simply use the 'Edit' button at the bottom of your post. The next thing that I want to bring up is that when you request an art piece, know what you want on it from the beginning. Having an idea about what sort of pictures you?d like, what you want written, and the general set-up of your image will allow members to fulfill your request at least three times faster. From experience, figuring out what you want on an image and how you want it set up is probably the most difficult aspect of graphic design. That being said, any extremely general threads are unacceptable. We must also address the fact that requesting something from a particular member is not only ignorant, but useless when posting in a public forum. When making these threads, you are basically sending off the message that you don?t care for the talent of anyone else on the forums that regularly make images for people. I know that you may not have intended it to come off as such, but regardless, I'd like such threads to instead be PMed, emailed, or IMed to that specific person, making the transaction elsewhere. This forum is for people who need an art piece made, have no one in particular to make it for them, and would like someone, anyone, to help them out. Other than the aforementioned points, both the requester and the person fulfilling it need to be aware of the sizes if you are going to use a banner/avatar on this forum, which would include 150 x 80 pixel or smaller avatars, 500 x 100 pixel or smaller banners, and 100 x 100 pixel or smaller profile pictures. Thank you for your attention. I hope this will help to clear up any confusion and spam that we have seen lately. I also hope that it?s alright with James that I have posted this, since we?ve waited so long and some of these things are beginning to become a problem again. -Syk3
You mean that thing was still alive?? Whoa. I thought it died...like...way back.
It did. And so did this thread.
HAH.. You're so much better off with a modded PS2 and the Japanese version of Extreme... it totally owns the US version. It's basically the arcade version of what most of us know and love (mostly all songs from the machine), and, well, US Extreme is not. Well, you'd know! ='] I should probably get mine modded and whore out my friend's DVD burner... screw the US version, hehehe.
lol, I doubt it. Whereas the machine can hold about 200 songs, they wouldn't be able to fit them into to the 70 song range on home versions. :/ It would mostly be Japanese songs, so it depends what you like. Either way, it's a good variety. Hell, US Extreme is awesome alone for the sole fact that it gives you more songs to play once you play the other games for a while. ^_^

Muhahaha.. I now finally own DDR: Extreme. My friend and I drove about 45 minutes to a GameStop, and I picked up the package with the game and pad, since my own pad is dying, and this should hold me off until I find the time to make my own. I was kind of iffy about this game in the weeks leading up to it. Of course, I was excited. How could I not be? A new DDR game was coming out! But then I started worrying about what songs they might put on, which might not be too good. Even now that I've bought the game, it's hard to say, since I haven't unlocked all the songs yet, but so far I see a lot of cheesy American songs (like Kick the Can and YMCA), and nothing special so far in my opinion, other than Tsugaru which is always awesome but is already on Max2 anyway. The interface has really changed, though. It now looks nothing like the Max games, and not only that, but it is different as well. Take a look. [Spoilers if you do not wish to see the pictures] As you can see, quite a change. But it's still basically the same dacing. Not that I'm complaining, being the DDR fan that I am. lol

I got the DVDs as well today; picked them up right after school. I watched some of the special features, mainly the Episode III preview, and the old trailers for the movies (how encredibly cheesy >:O), and I would have watched more on the disc, but my brother was anxious to watch the movies. About a half an hour into A New Hope, I decided to take a nap because of the lack of sleep I've been getting, and then couldn't watch any more until now because I had soccer practice. But now that I'm back and have had a chance to settle down, I'm watching where I left off. Damn, I must say, the quality is tripping me out. They updated the sound and image so well that I want to say that it looks like it came out in freakin' 2004. o_o So yeah, it's awesome. I'll give you guys an update once I've seen through the movies and bonus features, which might take a while since DDR: Extreme releases tommorrow. XD
Well I suppose I might be being a little over zealous in my comments, though my opinion of Lucas's additions will probably not change any time in the near future. Like anyone here I'm already waiting anxiously for it to come out on Monday, yes there are additions to it but that's still not stopped me from slobbering like a dog in anticipation. Just out of pure curiosity what price are they charging for the DVD Trilogy near you ? For myself I have the option of either buying it from ShopIreland.ie for ?44 and I should have it within a few days of it being released, my other option is buying it from a few places near me but so far the best price I've seen is ?55 (I think) is it worth having it a few days early and paying ?11 extra ?
Monday? I'm pretty sure that it's coming Tuesday in the states. As for prices, I've seen a wide variety, as high as $70. On one site, I saw it for $50, but on walmart.com, the only store worth buying it from in my area, claims to sell it for an amazing $40. As for you, I'd say do yourself a favor and wait a few days to save the money.

You're better off just making a new thread, I'd say.

Well, the most we can do is disconnect her account if she is on myOtaku. Otherwise, though, it's really ashame that she has to resort to stealing others' work, and I'm sorry that it's happened to you and others. Just try to do what you can to bring her to justice.

Hmm, that's strange. I clicked the link and it's bringing me to an error page. Maybe you need to check that link.
I know that this one is not an anime character but a game character but for me Guilty Gear is like an anime made to be a game that's why I think this one should be posted here (and besides this is one of my time consuming but best drawings :D ).
Just for a little clarification.. although this board is called OtakuBoards, the only place that you really have to keep with that theme is in the Anime section, heh.
you "made" that first one? if you did I'd give it a 10, and the other one an 8 there both awsome!
Welcome to OtakuBoards.
Basicly thats what i meant. Most of the younger viwers dont stay up till like 10 or whnever there on, specifcly for that purpose, so eventually the flow of the younger viewers will decline massivly, and lot of the older viwers will grow out of it. Which is wiki gay. *not saying everyone will grow outta it, but some will*
That's the thing. The content that 4Kids aims for is.. well, for kids. A younger audience. o.o So if anything, they'll grow up with this anime and do one of two things. Either a, consider anime to be a part of their childhood and 'grow out of it'. Or b, actually take an interest in expanding their anime knowledge and look for something that appeals to their taste as they grow older.
I went to a Walden's Books store recently and they had about 15 anime wall scrolls hung up. They had count 'em three full aisles dedicated to manga and related items like art books and drawing tutorials. A bunch of anime racks, plushies everywhere; it's madness. Now, I am a manga and anime fan and I'm not going to condemn the fact that it's becoming popular but all I'm hoping for is respect and increased quality... which is imminet, but perhaps not in the -near- future.
Three aisles dedicated to anime and manga? That's badass. I'm going to have to say that anime has already reached a high point in quality. You can buy great DVDs with extras and everything of the coolest anime just about anywhere, and I think that respect will inevitably come with time. Although I can't really quote the rest of your post in particular, I do agree with a lot of your points. I find it funny that we can attribute much of the popularity to the anime shown on tv despite our best efforts to avoid mentioning those shows when describing anime to someone. It's going to get some people to love it, and some to hate it, I suppose. EDIT:
There is definetly an increse in anime - and I see no problem with liking a (slightly) mainstream anime like Inuyasha. Not everbody likes it, you know. ^_~
Yeah, but what I was getting at in the original post was that they came to the club expecting to see nothing but. :p
The proof comes that you even wanted to start an anime club in the first place. If you didn't think many people would show up, then it would've been rather pointless. But because you tried, it became obvious just how many people like anime.
Yeah, well, you know. lol I did have a little hope that we would have a lot of people, but the reason I started the club was to carry on the tradition from my old school (there was a new school built, so I went to that one), I was vice-president last year, and this is my last yeat of high school, heh.
Hey Syk, any tips for the club? We're thinking of starting one at my school. ^^
Heh, no problem, but it depends on the school and principal. If this school generally only allows the most official of clubs, you might want to go with the title of "The Japanese Culture Appreciation Club" with a mission statement like "We want to use animation to learn different aspects of Japanese culture" or something, and maybe dedicate a time to discuss the anime. Otherwise, what I did was call it the "Japanese Animation Club" to make it sound official but not confuse people. Then you'll need to talk to an administrator about starting a club, and find a teacher that will let you use their room and watch over the group. Make sure that they know that they can just do their own work and don't have to watch what you're watching, but just be there if you get too roudy, you know? (also, male sponsors tend to let more slide ;)) Then what I recommend to get to word out is make flyers and put them up around the building (with permission, of course), and write up announcements if possible. Then just tell as many people as you can, heh. If you want a sample flyer, I can email or AIM mine, but you'll first need to download the font Dauphin.
In turth? It is more like a decline. Now that 4KIDS got its claws into so many potentially awsom Anime, most people are being turned off. When you turn on the Fox Box on saterday morning and see a horrible 4KIDS anime, like waht those morons did to One Piece! My god! They killed it! You just gona think, "Ohhh, Anime? It is all like this, it is sooo gay!" Then people stop watching it, and miss the more serious ones they show later, like Inuyasha, Which Hunter Robin, God, Even DBZ is better then a 4KIDS anime. Disgusting Dubbing. Subs are much better anyway.
Well, I don't think it's so much of a decline in the way you describe it. At most, 4Kids turns people away before they even begin to like it, and that's with the few series that they have edited. If people like anime already, they'll know that there are better things out there, rather than just not watch anymore anime. But I will agree that 4Kids is giving a particularly bad reptuation to anime for those who haven't seen any.

Well, I for one am happy to finally see the series on DVD. I've been waiting for it to go to DVD for years now, for the quality, scene selection, and of course, extra features. I certainly don't think I will mind the small changes Lucas made, heh. Besides, it's been so long since I got to see it that I doubt I'd know the difference. My birthday is also only a couple days before the release, so I'm definitely asking for money for that, lol.
-
Well, today we finally had our first anime club meeting in the new school. As this year's president, it was my job to ask permission from an administrator, find a sponsor, make the club official, make and put up fliers, and write up announcements to be read. As usual, there were the generic people who were just like "ooohhhh, anime?! I want to watch pokemon! lmfao!1!", but I did expect at least 20 people to show up based on those that my friends and I got confirmation from. Boy was I surprised. O_O Not including the 10 or so people who couldn't make it to the first meeting, my friend counted a total of 47 kids who showed up for the club. Obviously this made the classroom extremely crowded, so for the next meeting we're going to try to have it in the cafeteria and wheel in a tv on a cart, or something. I can't imagine how insane it's going to get when we start ordering pizza. ~_~ For the first meeting, my friend and I didn't want to start on anything permenant (like a series), so we just brought in a lot of movies and voted on which ones to watch. Akira ended up be chosen over the Bebop movie, but I honestly didn't care what we watched. Besides, I would say that Akira is a great choice to start off as, since it's such a classic anime and this is what Americans in the early 90s thought of when they though of anime, so it's good to bring them back to that time, heh. The only things that really bothered me were that a lot of people were talking during most of the movie, despite our insistance to be quiet, and that nearly half of the people left at 4:30, the time that we said it would end, when we only had 5 minutes to go in the movie. I suppose that the point that I'm getting to for a topic is.. how far has anime really come in America today if it influences almost 50 people in one school to join an anime club? o.o Of course, you have to factor out those people who are just there for the mainstream like Inuyasha (trust me, there were a few), and people who don't really like anime and are just looking for something to do (my friend claims that a couple people were just making out the whole time o_O). Either way, I'm still convinced that we can win people like this over with the kind of stuff we'll be watching in the club. :p So has anyone else seen evidence such as this that suggest a large boom in anime popularity lately? O.o I mean, even in my anime clubs in the past, the most people we've had was like 20. Thread edited ^_~ -Solo
I just got DDR Max on Saturday, and I love the fact they have Midnite Blaze on it. One of the greatest songs ever on DDR...then again, I'm such a lazy butt to actually get up and go to an arcade, to tell the truth, I don't even know where one is. XD My top three favorite songs would have to be Rhythmn and Police, Kakumei, and Midnite Blaze. Drop The Bomb closeby that too, got that mp3..
Yeah, DDR Max is a great game, and I'd have to put it above Max2. Of course, that could be because I got it second, and had a chance to get bored of Max2, but songs like Rhythm and Police, Matsuri Japan, and Holic would otherwise win me over. Too bad I can't do Kakumei yet. >_< I would also like to mention that I am planning on making my own metal pad, as soon as I get my questions answered at the DDR Freak forums. If someone here wants to give those questions a shot, feel free to ask.
-
Bleh, I have no idea where that is. And even so, the closest DDR arcade to me is like 45 minutes away, so I very rarely get a chance to play. When you say favorite songs on Extreme, you mean the arcade, right? Gotta keep in mind that arcades can hold 200 songs compared to the home version 70 or so, so not all songs will be tranfered. But I'll list them anyway, in no particular order. :p Butterfly A R3 Cow Girl Tsugaru Rhythm and Police Daikunkai (even though I can't play it for crap, still a good song) Holic Afranova And Freckles is alright I guess

You'll need to be a little more specific. :/ We have no idea what you're interested in. As far as nifty avatars goes, we have plenty to choose in the default.
I've been playing DDR since I was 7 years old and stopped for a couple of years. When I was 10 my brother just kinda forced me to do standard. Yeah my brother is like that. I've been playing standard ever since. I'm still really slow though. I just turned 13 last week. And I still play on Standard as my main. I can play some songs on Heavy. But I'm just kinda really slow at this age right now. lol. I just wanna get good at standard! And like when I'm 20 or something I'll be playing DDR, Double, Heavy, x2. lol, I could dream.. But I'm gonna make sure that happens.
Geeze! I don't believe that I even knew what DDR was a year ago, much less 6. haha Here I am getting a B on Rhythm and Police (heavy, 9 feet), though. :o
I use my really crappy pads. My friend got an Ignition from some store and bought a one year warrenty for 15 dollars, and aparently you can get another warrenty for each one. That's a life time warrenty right there. I also have the famous kneedrop! On freeze arrows [on DDRMAX/2 and DDR EXTREME] I do handstands. This is uaully for light though so keep that in mind. I NEVER do my handstand at an arcade. That's a no no for me.
Ahhhh, so you're a trick player. That's still really cool.
Oh yes and those of you who say you suck. Just keep on practicing. You'll get better. Your just making it hard on yourself if your not trying. But if you do try, your all good.
Yeah, deffinitely. Everyone that you see who is totally awesome were, at one point, sucked. They got better with dedication and practice. ^_^
Mmm... and it's not an import? My friend was talking about this EyeToy jazz, but I thought she mentioned an import mix.
Nope, deffinitely for Extreme USA.
I'm still mad that I bought MAX2 instead of the original, but I'm going to have to pick this one up... it may end up setting me back 60 bucks +, but ohwell
Well, unless you don't have a pad, the game itself should only cost $40. Oh and I'd like to retract my previous date when the game is coming out. Although the actual date is a bit fuzzy, I believe that copies will ship the 21st and be sold in stores the 22nd.

OtakuBoards absolutely does not tolerate members taking claim for artwork that was done by someone else. If you did re-register, then you would have obviously posted this back on your other name because it was submitted months ago, even before Firewolf started posting on the boards. And secondly, Firewolf's profile on myOtaku says that she's a girl, and clearly "Akuro-san" is a boy's name. (phew) Topic closed.
Thats really nice, good job
I also encourage you to read our rules on expanding constructive criticism before you make further posts.
Yeah, good art their.
Wow, that was pathetic. Please take a look at the topic concerning Constructive Criticism in this forum. Not only that, but this thread is way too old to be brought back.
