I'm not sure how far this thread can be taken, honestly. Work hard, take some art classes, and just put in a lot of practice.

Alright, alright, this thread may need to calm down a little. All artists can use constructive criticism, and should embrace it rather than reject it to help them improve. However, I'd have to side with Tenshi when saying that such a comment about liking it better when the URL didn't work was a low blow, and said something more like "you suck" rather than "you can improve to make them better". Constructive criticism is great, even encouraged, but try to at least keep them on the positive side or else the recieving party will disregard it completely and never take your comments seriously.

It's too big. Please lower the size to a max of 500 pixels wide by 100 pixels high.

You may only have one banner in your signature at a time. Please remove one.

Can you explain your requests in a little more detail? Like who you want in each banner, pictures that you might want used, what you want it to say, etc. Also, keep in mind that you may only use one banner at a time in your signature.

Just for a little more information, a still picture can be a jpg [i]or[/i] a gif, but only a gif can be used for a moving picture.

This thread is no different than a thread showing off your website because, well, that's what you're doing, lol. If you wish to show and get feedback for your artwork, don't link to the entire site, because that will get blurred responses like, "they're all good!" or "some of them need some work". Instead, it's best to link to each piece individually, and only a few at a time. Thanks.

Hmm, the only banner that's showing up for me is the fourth one. You may want to fix the URLs.

I suppose this thread is alright, since we haven't had a desktop thread in a while anyway, heh. My desktop is attached, and keep in mind that I didn't make the wallpaper. I tend to avoid making wallpapers because I have to look at it everyday, and when you make something it's so much easier to find faults with it. Hatake, the image you linked to should probably be a little less quality I think, since it took me like a minute to get an inch shown and I run on cable, lol.

Keep in mind, Unborn Lord Xion, that we ask for at least six to start a new category.

Is it cute? Are the words funny? Was the text placed nicely? Stuff like that. As for the topic itself, I think you're already off on a great foot making avatars. ^_^ The pictures are all clean and crisp, something that people who have been making avatars for months cometimes continually mess up. Not only that, but you were able to capture the image at such a great moment; very artistic. However, I would like to suggest that you use a border in your avatars. It may be sort of a hassel at first, but the end result is deffinitely worth it, as borders tend to act as boundaries around the image, and overall just look better. The yellow text is also something that may need improving, since while it stands out, it just doesn't fit with any colors in the picture. If you used, say, the color of the gingerbread man for the text, it would make it look much better. Lastly, make sure that the text is some distance away from the edge. ;) I really like your Kill Bill banner, too, but like the avatars, it would look even better with a border. It also seems like kind of a long animation; would the size fit in someone's signature?

After considering this for a moment, this thread is no different from similar threads found in the request forum. While you would still be making artwork for people to discuss, the fact of the matter is that if anyone wants to request anything, they can do so in Art Request. Feel free to answer as many threads there as you like, and show your banners and avatars here for feedback. Topic closed.
