Hittokiri Zero, those are all great avatars, but in order to be accepted, they must have a border as instructed in the first post.

Of course, now that I think about it, it makes it even more authentic in a way. Originally, I was going for more of a bloody feel to the banner, which is the legend attached to the name of Hittokiri battosai. As for why I didn't use a darker red, I thought pure red would get the message across fine, and just be, overall, a more eye-pleasing color.

callmegoddess04, you need to make sure that your avatars are 150 x 80 pixels. Some of yours are bigger, and some are smaller.

Thanks for the comments, you two. Feedback on my banners is always great, despite who it's from, because I'm always trying to improve, and I know I have a [i]long[/i] way to go. Really? o.o I didn't exactly choose the color; I went into Photoshop, chose the red section, and took the color that was the least affected by white, black, or anything. So it should be pure red, according to Photoshop, heh.

And here is my latest banner, this time for myself. My links and marriage statement were getting lonely in my sig. ;_; I used an interesting technique for this banner, as you can see, which popped into my mind subconciously, probably similar to some other artwork I must have seen in the past. The banner was only created with just two colors: red and white. In the middle of making it, I knew that people would be able to tell it was Kenshin from the outlines, but I realized that showing the scars would make it so much more cool, and confirm the beliefs of people who thought they knew who it was. The only problem with using just two colors was that ideas were limited on expanding it further. In the end, I just decided to use 'hitokiri battosai', because I didn't really want to pull away from the pictures too much. So what do you think of it? Add anything? Keep as it is?

Just a quick note, this thread has had quite a number of spamalicious posts. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence, but I'm going to be watching this topic more carefully.

It's certainly been a while, like usual. This is one that I did for Raiha when she forced me to make it, but I didn't spend a long time working on it, so keep that in mind. All I really did was alter the brightness and contrast of a few images and put them together, but I think it all goes well together. And, of course, there's an avatar to go with. *retreats to his eternal slumber*

Wooh, these are nice avatars, heh. The anime is looking promising in general, what with an interesting twist in samurai animes - breakdancing, lol. The pictures you chose for all of the avatars are nice and clean, but the font could use some work, I'd think. Don't feel pressed to use only white or black; there are tons of colors that you can choose from. I could help you out with the text if you sent the just the pictures, if you like. ^_^ Then you can submit them in the Avatar Submission thread.

Hmm, I'm not sure about anyone else, but the picture doesn't seem to load all the way for me, although from what I can see, it's not bad. ^_^ Perhaps you could fix that.

Mm, you did very nice on this banner, Sen. ^_^ You chose a clean and crisp picture for the foreground, and the background is a cool abstract piece. It's all very soothing on the eyes. The only thing is, like I mentioned to you earlier, the glow around the end of her hair strand, which is kind of cut out. Also, I'm not sure if it was intended, but the inner border pixel is has less opacity which just looks a little off to me. :o

Our max size is 500 pixels by 100 pixels, and yours exceeds the 100 pixel height. Please resize the image or take it out. ^_^ Secondly, from what I understand from this thread, you're holding some kind of battle to try to get votes on an unbiased level? O_o While I understand your motives, I don't think OtakuBoards is the place to do this, because the entire point of the Art Studio forum is to give constructive criticism, and we can't tell the other person what we think of their banner because they aren't here. For this reason, I think I'll remove that first banner and let people decide which of the three text versions to choose. As for which one I'd choose, I'd have to also say the second one, with the text away from the edges, because otherwise some of the text gets lost, and it looks more professional away from the sides. ~_^ You should both also work on your grammar and capitolization, in addition to making sure that you type out the whole word. It's not that hard, and it's common curtesey here on OtakuBoards. ^_^
