I don't understand how this thread got as far as it has, but posting in a SPAM thread isn't going to help the situation. o_o First of all, if nothing else, I would have expected to see this in the Request forum, where people normally request banners. ^_~ You should also know that it isn't the graphics program that makes the banners fantastic, it's the skill in the person. Of course, you couldn't have gotten there without the program, but even if you have the program you could still not be very good. But if you do insist that you have some mad skillz, feel free to help out those in need in the request forum. The Art & Design forum, as Hittokiri Zero said, is to show off your already existing banners and make constructive criticism on other's. Topic closed [finally].

On years past, I'd usually ask for a whole bunch of stuff, but I kept my list..relatively short this year, at least compared to last year, heh. So far, I've recieved a 2004 Calendar of California landscape (Caalliifoorniaa :drunk: ), a GameBoy Advance SP carrying case, Viewtiful Joe (GC), Animal Crossing (GC), a seat warmer thing, and a new microphone for the computer. My grandparents are coming over later so I'm beginning to wonder if they got me the F-Zero (GC) game I was also asking for, heh. My mom also got us as a family a digital camera. Oh yes, very happy about that one. :D It's been a very nice Christmas so far. :) EDIT: F-Zero GX (GC), a car model, an electric toothbrush, promised cargo pants at the store, and $120. w00t @_@ Interesting brother gifts have been Tony Hawk's Underground, Two Towers entended DVDs, and the mysterious Eye Toy.

Art My Gift to OB: How the James Stole Christmas (animation)

Why am I always a disgusting creature? Good job, anyway. I thought it was funny; you had some comical and fairly good drawings, and kept it entertaining for a good 15 minutes, or however long that was. I'm anxious to see the next movie. I would appreciate it if you asked someone before you were going to make them look like an ***. Thanks. -

Oh well, I think he's just jealous of you that you get to be my official biatch, and not him. :) I could get you to run a few unofficial errands, Kenji, if it means that much to you. I do think a few ones and exclamation points would have been better, as long as it's not the same number of each, heh.

xD omg, lik..ur banner..OMG ITS SO N00B!!1!#$@%%^& u just teh suk..stop makin banners. dud. im serious. NO. stop. just stop. leav it 2 teh pros/. :flaming: :excited: :smooch: :butthead:  Yes, our humour goes together like..em..James and moderating. =p Great banner you made yourself there, Shin. Very original and does a great job of exposing others to the aforementioned humour that those of us that chat with you on AIM get a taste of every day. The text, in my opinion, is a lot better when drawn out, and I especially like how you instinctively drew in a one. :) I liked the original..and I like the changes. Good stuff. Now get back to work and make me a sammich, biatch! :drunk:

You really need to improve your posts, Ryu_Sakura. Not only because the grammar and spelling could use some work, but because you are not discussing the art at hand. The same can not only be said about this post, but about every single one you've made in this thread, and before you do anything else, please read the sticky at the top of the forum on Constructive Criticism.
Originally posted by ARTommy heres my second entry
You may want to take to heart that this contest is aparently anime-themed, which would void this entry. Wow..I find this blue and orange/red combination to almost..compliment each other. I really love the blue and red that you have going; the way you were able to integrate it so nicely is just fabulous. The pictures also flow very nicely together. The just all fit in with the banner, so much in fact that I could believe it being an original single piece. It doesn't even need text. I'm not the biggest fan of non-solid borders, but yours still wasn't too bad. You did very well in this banner; one of my favorite of your works, and I hope to see more from you in the future.

Hehe, funny stuff. I really like the whole comical feel you have on it. The character designs and expressions are priceless, and you were able to impliment our daily quotes flawlessly. The way you put it together was very creative as well, heh. The only think that wonders me is..what is Sen doing in the second frame? I always love when I'm drawn into a story line. ^_^

Let me try to expand on the Rurouni Kenshin anime aspect what Verykawaiineko was saying. Basically, the anime series itself can been split into three parts: Wandering Samurai, Legend of Kyoto, and Tales of the Meiji. I'm not sure how others can tell what part the series is in, but on my DVDs, one of the three appears under the title 'Rurouni Kenshin' after the opening theme. The OVAs are completely seperate, and include the Rurouni Kenshin movie, Trust, Betrayal, and Reflections. Wandering Samurai is the first third of the series, and does its job in introducing the characters and showing you Kenshin's ability. They are pretty good episdes, and throw the newly created gang into a bunch of semi-random battles and story lines. Legend of Kyoto is where the series gets personal, and derives from what happened in Kyoto during the time of the revolution. Many enemies and rivals of Kenshin's during the rise of the Meiji era come back to inact revenge on Kenshin, which I believe is by far the best third of the series. It's also the only time in the series where the episodes are completely continuous, like you would find on Dragonball Z. Tales of the Meiji isn't very widely known of among those who watch their anime exclusively on TV. Cartoon Network stoped airing "new" Kenshin episodes after the Legend of Kyoto, which is easy to accept as the end of the series anyway. It takes place after the scurmish in Kyoto, obviously, and its purpose is to show the increasing romance between Kenshin and Kaoru. Like the first part of the series, it relies on the random story-lines that are..not exactly on par as the rest of the series. Most likely it's due to the fact that it's stuff we've already seen before, and with 95 episodes, it's difficult to keep everything interesting. Still, it's my second favorite anime series. I'm sure you'll like it, even though buying the Legend of Kyoto may have been the better choice. ^_^ I can't say that I've read the manga, however, so my comment on translation is blank on that.

Megumi, ~Mystical Pan~, and Nate, we are still awaiting your scores. *how did I become in charge of yet another contest? o__o* Come on Nate, get on the ball, heh.

Welcome to OtakuBoards! Unfortuantely, we no longer allow introduction threads due to the fact that they lead to spam, as nothing can really be said except a repeat of the first line that I gave you. Muahaha, another original and extremely eye pleasing banner from Mei. I'd say that the other banner you made was good too, but I can't argue with these results. ~_^ I really like your choice of colors in this design, as well as the scheme you've added to your post. The purple and red combination allows you to create your own artistic touch, rather than using the generic red and green, though that would have looked nice as well. The image, the border, and the text all flow nicely together, and overall, it "feels" like a Mei banner..whatever that means, lol. You'd think that part of the text, being placed above where the same colors are used in the banner, would not come out as clear, but by the way you designed it, it is easily legible. And as always, I love the character you chose; such innocence coupled by high quality. As for things that you can improve on..meh, nothing comes to mind offhand, but it would be interesting to see you use multiple pictures and a few choice effects, while retaining the simplistic feel. Great banner, hun. Oh, and the avatar -- very kawaii. ^_^

Ah, it took me a little while to figure out exactly which banner you were refferring to, but I think I know now. Refer to the upload at the bottom of my post. Ironically, I made it upon inspiration of another banner I saw here, hehe. I think you did exceptionally well on choosing the picture and designing the overall banner, but text is a big thing you really need to work on. Remember, above all else, your text should be clear and easy to read. Here, I can hardly make out the letters in "OtakuSennen" at the very bottom of the banner, and it's quite small even if I could read it. As for the other text, they seem a little pixelated on the edges, and smoothness is an important thing to work towards as well. Other than that, it's very well done! I'd like to see a version just a little lighter and without the text. :)

Ahaha, I have a great one going this year, where people, mostly my friends, call my Quiet Boy. =p I barely talk, even around them (mostly because they dicuss about the craziest things and I have no idea what they're talking about o__o), and pretty much everyone else has a nickname in our little group, so I have one. I don't take it seriously at all; it's all in good fun so I just laugh with them. ^_^ I even have this scenario where I pretend to ring a cowbell to make up for my talking absence. XD;; The past few years, back when I liked Dragonball, or at least people thought I did, some called me Dragonball. Funny looking back on it, but meh, kind of pathetic when you think about it. One day when this kid at my lunch table said "Hey Dragonball" (I had the crapiest lunch table ever last year O_o), one of my friends said back, "Hey no-ball". That shut him up for the rest of the year, lol. Then back in middle school, which now seems like ages ago, people called me by my spanish named Gregorio (my real name is Greg), pronounced Greg-oreo. This was, of course, before I realized it's actually Greg-AReo, which would have saved me a lot of trouble. In the end, I just called the kid who was mainly doing this "Queerio". o__o And of course now people on the internet call me Sky. Thanks guys. :bawl:
Originally posted by Kyo no Ryu I know Im in but my banner sucked and this looks fun! So can I please? You dont have to include my judgement...
Why..did you judge when you knew you wern't a judge and we wern't going to count it? O_o Besides, a quick run-through of the numbers shows a lot of errors, such as a 12/10 for someone in the last section. o.o

Writing Far From Home [Short Story -- Unfinished]
Syk3 replied to Lady Asphyxia's topic in Creative Works
Wow, that was a very cool little bit to read, heh. There was a lot of detail that others may not have thought to ecorporate, such as presenting the passport and the fassen seatbealt sign; is this somehow based on a true story? I think the beginning and the end were my favorite parts. You used vivid imagery and flowed the sentences together with ease, and I was very impressed. Up near the end, the sentences started becoming a little linear, and sort of choppy, but you ended it great. That last sentence especially. Wow. The book of his life starting a new chapter; I just love it. :) -
Originally posted by Shippo Ehm...Sorry to interrupt, but why was my entry deleted? You said we could get the final banner's in, so I deleted my previous Goku entry, and entered an Aeris banner, but it was deleted :(...may I ask why? And then the thread was closed... -- Again, im really sorry about interrupting, but I just had to get this off my chest...:( (the banner I entered is in attahcment.)
There were a few individual's banners that never showed up on that post that Nate made of all of the banners, but I can't remember specifically who these people were. In any case, I've added your scores to the list. (see latest one)

SECTION A In the following section, please answer each statement with one of five answers: A) Strongly Agree B) Agree C) Somewhat Agree D) Disagree E) Strongly Disagree 1) I find OtakuBoards rules easy to understand and follow. A 2) I feel that the staff at OtakuBoards understand their job and are capable of performing it appropriately. A 3) OtakuBoards is easy to navigate. A 4) OtakuBoards has a friendly atmosphere. Much moreso in comparison to other forums, lol. A SECTION B Please try to keep your answers relatively short in this section. 5) How often do you visit OtakuBoards? Everyday. I visit in the morning in JAVA class, and when I get home from school. I usually stay on most of the evening, talking to friends and browsing the forums once I finish checking over Art. 6) Do you feel that the rules are too strict/not strict enough/fine as they are? Fine as they are. Some new members are intimidated by what they think is a long read, but it's fairly straightforward. 7) Should we continue to uncensor the creative writing areas on OtakuBoards? Yes. It does sometimes add creativity and realism to mature stories when we can use these words directly. 8) Would you rather a decentralized forum system on OB (more forums, less activity per forum) or a centralized forum system (less forums, more activity per forum)? Centralized. This would make things even simpler to browse, and members could easily find the place to discuss a topic. The more activity, the better. 9) Would you like to see a closer integration of myOtaku and OtakuBoards? To an extent, yes. I think they should both be recorgnized for individual sites, but maybe add features that would allow you to...recognize your activity on OB, in a way. 10) Are you signed up to myOtaku.com? Yes. Go to my page now.
