Sorry, new threads such as this one are not allowed on OtakuBoards. We've found that such topics encourage spam, and as our forums try to prevent this, it wasn't really a smart move to allow them in the first place. Welcome to OB and read the rules. :) Topic closed.

Yeah, I've heard people on the news asking themselves the same question about testing to see if a senior citizen really should be driving. Like they said, it really depends on the person, and not all older people are going to act like that. But yes, I do agree that after a certain age, tests should be given out every few years if not every year to make sure that person is not loosing the ability to concentrate while in the car. If they can't, then simply confine them to using a bus or the metro. I actually visited the Santa Monica peer on my vacation in California, and aparently we were pretty close to where the accident would take place after walking down to a nearby mall so my brother could look for a video game. The farmer's market is only open on certain days, though, and I don't believe we would have been able to see it the day we were there anyway.

It's not allowed. OtakuBoards doesn't promote ROMs in any way, nor do we allow discusions to be made on them. They're illegal, and hence, so are these topics concerning them. Topic closed.
Originally posted by WW2 I have to agree with Sky and say the fight scenes between Spike and Vincent were some of the best ever animated. I also really liked the Saito/Kenshin fight at the dojo. Its crisp animation, and fast paced action also makes it one of the best. But thats just my opinion.:D
Sky...okay, we get the joke! I know Syk and Sky look similar. -__- I should also mention that you have 2 images in your signature right now; one of them should be removed. :) Thanks!

Hmm...it seems so long ago now. I guess I first started using the internet almost 5 years ago when I was in sixth grade, in school for projects, I suppose. We had computers in my elementary school, but they were Mac and only had games on them and such, though according to all of you, they probably should have had the internet. Cheap school. *kicks it* When I finally got the internet at my house, it was when I was in 7th grade, and I didn't really see it's full potential. I'd rarely get on to use it, and even then I'd just search for DBZ pictures and information. It wasn't until two years ago that my friend came over and showed me how to work AIM, then I found OtakuBoards shortly after (or maybe the other way around), and I've been addicted to it ever since, lol.
Originally posted by Double_B_Daigo And the One Between Vicious and Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop.
It was long, drawn out, bloody, and both me gave it all they could until Spike shot Vicious in the chest. Then the seen right after, *sniffle again* awsome."Bang...":excited:

I tend to disagree; that fight, while being one of the most memerable, was also one of the shortest "final fights" I remember in an anime. Sure, it took a while for Spike to finally get to him, but the fight itself wasn't really long and drawn out. It was deffinitly one of my favorite fights, but probably not the. I'd have to say either the fight between Spike and Vincent on the train in Knockin' on Heaven's Door, or Eva Unit 01 and Taji's rampaging Eva. The fight between Spike and Vincent in the Bebop movie was absolutely fantastic.
I really liked the background music, and when Vincent grabbed Spike in the chest...whoah -- I was on the edge of my seat. ;)
It was kind of short, yes, but it really stands out in my mind whenever I think about that movie. That battle showed the potential of Vincent and just how deadly he really can be. Another battle that can't be overlooked is
when Shinji was being beaten up by Taji's Eva, and Gendo turns on the autopilot. This was the first time we actually saw what the autopilot did, so that in itself was significant. All Shinji could do was sit there as his Eva totally went beserk on Taji, and from his eyes, he believed that Taji was dead. >

Advertising your site is against the rules. I'm not sure what sort of topic you are trying to ensue here, but I can assure you that even if we did allow such threads, no intelligent conversations would come from it anyway. Also, seeing as you have merely 6 posts, you very well may have registered just to show your site, which is why we have such rules in the first place. Topic closed.
Originally posted by dayday Oh, sorry if I did that. I was just giving an explanation. For me it wasn't serious so they took forever and for my brother it was and jis was rushed. So if the doctors know they'll be getting paid they're going to rush you if it's serious but since they haven't it probably isn't.
Yeah, that's exactly what I was saying. If it was something serious and it looked bad for Logan, then they would have told him sooner and done whatever needed to be done as soon as possible.
Originally posted by Kesaki_Inedia did you tell your parents?
I'd probably take that as a 'no', considering the fact that she mentioned that this was only the third time that she has told someone, and that she has never talked to anyone about it offline. I know how hard it must be to even say what happened online, but this isn't the first time that someone has come to OB for confort on such things, and it certainly won't be the last, so I think that it's a very good idea to get suggestions and such here before you act offline, in my opinion. I know I would have as well if I was in your situation. All I can really say about the incident as a whole is to probably get help from a speicialized counsoler, like other people have mentioned. I'm pretty sure there are people here who have gone through similar ordeals, so I'd probably pay careful attention as to what they did. These sort of things need to be brought out as soon as possible so that those responsible can...well, get what's coming to them. EDIT: I don't know how many of you realize how hard it must have been for her to get this out online, and don't understand just how much help and how many suggestions she can get from people who have gone through this before and know exactly what Dayday should be doing. Sure, you may be getting sympathy from strangers, but she needs advice on what to do, and she can get that here.

I'm curious...what made you go in to get the catskan in the first place? Perhaps I missed something...an older thread? In any case, I'll say that I hope there isn't anything wrong with you. Dayday has me thinking that maybe if there was something wrong, they'd try to do something about it right away, so I'd just hope for the best. :)

Oh god, I'm sorry for letting this carry on so long. Introduction threads are not allowed due to the fact that nothing but spam ensues, as you can tell. Topic closed. EDIT: Wolf Maximus, the best thing that you can do when showing your cousin the ropes is by first introducing him to the rules page. It would be best if you started him off on the right foot, since the way to really be noticed is by posting in topics and stating your intelligent opinions. ~_^ Enjoy your stay, Jekel.
Originally posted by Genkai I think it's that it started out already well managed, with the forums staked out and members with good posting quality, which means it was quite easy to find on google etc. when searching for things. I remember a few months ago I started a thread about how you found OtakuBoards( which I think was reborn as another thread), and it was either (a) you found the forums through a search engine or (b) you found theOtaku through a search and went to the forums from there.
No, if I remember correctly, older versions of OtakuBoards had members with absolutely horrible posting quality and no one would do anything about it. For example, I was looking through an archive a little while back, and I noticed that someone accidently made a thread about Dragonball in the Test Forum, and over and above a few friendly suggestions about how it should be somewhere else, no one did anything about it and simply continued the conversation there. What you have to keep in mind is that all of this did not simply happen overnight; it took years of hardwork and a good deal of money before members started coming in by the dozens every day. That's what you really need to have a good forum -- pacients, hardwork, indivuality, and some money to get it started. I remember trying to make tons of forums as well, and I had most of those qualities, but I dropped out eventually because I really was reluctant to put forth any money. That's just the way I see it.

Yeah, well, I too thought this happenned a few months ago or something. From what I know, McDonalds simply proved that there is nothing addicting in their food, so if the person continued to eat there and become overweight, it's their own fault. The fact of the matter is that the person that become overweight is completely responsible for going there and eating all the time. Like you said, Tori, it's as if everyone is trying to find an excuse to sue each other these days.
Originally posted by SilpheedPilot But Vash did in fact kill someone! Legato! I hated him so much....... In all...i'm thinking Gene Starwind will come out on top..I mean, c'mon he has over 9 different types of shells!
Lol, that wasn't really the point; Vash was aiming at Legato and intended to kill him. He was just saying that Vash has never killed anyone by accident, because he's so good with a gun. As for Gene, just because he has a lot of shells doesn't mean he's good at shooting. That's like saying I'm a better gunman than you because I have more bullets.
Originally posted by maladjusted My favorite gun fighter is Spike, but I'd have to say that the best is Vash. I mean, he can dodge bullets and all that stuff, even he does it in a goofy way.
I agree, wholeheartidly. I prefer Spike as a favorite gunman, due to his sort of badass attitude. I love his skill, and while he's not perfect, he is probably the gunman of whom I most idolize over. Vash is probably the best gunman in terms of skill from what I can tell. His aim is so precise that even when he doesn't try, his bullets never miss their target, such as when he was drunk in "Quick Draw". That certainly may be because he doesn't have many human flaws, but we're talking about the best anime gunman here, not the best anime human gunman. :-p

Ugh. I really did not like Death and Rebirth, honestly. Maybe it was because it was in Japanese and they were talking so fast and such, but I think it had more to do with the fact that they kept going back on different issues in the series, and rather than clearing them up, they just made them much more confusing. In most of the movie, they simply reshowed parts rather than make new ones, so part of that makes me want to say that the producers were really lazy up near the end of Evangelion as a whole. I like the show a lot, don't get me wrong, but I guess I'm not "hardcore" enough. *shrug* Though summarizing those last two episodes was pretty intense. o.o' I personally prefer End of Evangelion, for the simple reason that they just show more new scenes and finally end the series. Once you watch that,
I think you will be satisfied in the relationship between Shinji and Asuka, which shows that Shinji is actually in love with her, if I remember correctly.
The story in EoE makes a lot more sense, even though it is still confusing compared to the series itself, save the last two episodes. After you finish seeing it, I guaruntee that you will be much less confused than after DaR. The thing about EoE that I didn't like was how they had to re-show half of DaR, since it continued the story. Of course, that wasn't entirely End of Eva's fault; they should have put more emphasis in Death and Rebirth so that they didn't have to do that.

Heh, I was initially unsure, but I came to the conclusion that because it was anime, and because it didn't show anything (so I thought), it was alright to post. When I looked closer, I almost deleted the thread; it was your choice to censor it. Kind of funny, lol. Deffinitly not a bad wallpaper. Everything is in good quality, and I like the use of the scan lines. :)
Originally posted by juna Hey Syk3, spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how you made your AIM transparrent... tis very cool, I want mine like that too... heh. Any help would be appreciated... I was going to PM you, but then I figured someone else might find this info useful too... Shanks... ^_^
It's actually an AIM add-on called DeadAIM. Download that, and the rest should be self-explanatory.
Originally posted by bammargera WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
bammargera, this post is complete spam. It has nothing to do with posting your desktop at all, and is something that you could do via PM with someone else. Not to mention the fact that your entire post was in capitol letters, which is extremely annoying and hard to read. I suggest that before you do anything else, read the rules. Here's my current desktop; it may or may not have been the same wallpaper last time, since I only usually use a few different ones. Enjoy.

Yes, this thread should be in Art & Design to be critiqued. This thread is for requesting banners/avatar, not showing them. Topic moved. :)

Thank you all for your kind comments and best wishes on our wedding. I know Mei and I will be very happy together, and these banners signify the first major thing we are doing together as a couple. ^_^ *huggles Mei*

Please try to stay on topic here, which is the critiquing of BlindChild's artwork, which is actually quite amazing. In any case, as Sara said, we don't allow double posting of any kind, though I can see where you'd make the mistake about us only allowing a certain amount of space in each post. It doesn't hurt to try, however. ;) What we abosultely do not permit is cursing and lashing out at other people, whether they be mod or member. Like Zeh says, same interface, but we have different rules at OtakuBoards, and that's what KKC was trying to say. Welcome to the boards and enjoy your stay. :)

Being hot has little to do with marrying them, lol, though if they posted their pic it may sway you one way or the other. It's just the whole thing about getting to know them though the internet and hence their thoughts. There are different kinds of marriges on the boards as well. There are silly ones as well as more serious once, depending on whether or not these people are doing it for fun or something. Mine, for example, would be a little more serious than some people think, because we're not married to anyone else or have an IRL boyfriend/girlfriend, we have a good relationship in my opinion, and we had a wedding rather than just saying we were married and being done with it. If you were to clasify that, I suppose you could say that we're "going out" on the internet, but maybe that's just me saying that.

For anyone who knows me, my OB crush won't be that big of a surprise, but I have to say that I really have the hots for Mei. ^^; She's beautiful, intelligent, funny, and just great to hang around with. :) And, of course, she's my wife. ^_^ I love you Mei, I miss you lots!
