Pink!

o_O;; lol Well, first and foremost it should have a border, to kind of show where the boundaries are and such. Probably the worst part about it is the blast, lol, which obviously could use a bit of work. The skinny black line behind the blast is kind of distracting, but that could easily be fixed. It is kind of funny, but it could have been a tad more polished. For what it is, however, it's not bad. :)
2. Holy...*_* I must say we have some pretty fast readers here. I've been reading the book all day, everyday since I got it, and it's Monday evening now and I just now finished it. I thought I got through it pretty quickly. o_O I'm not sure my brain would process fast enough if I read it all in a day or something, and I'd miss a bunch of stuff. -.-; So anywho, yeah, I finally finished it, and it's probably my favorite of the series. The thing is, I don't think any of the Harry Potter books has ever stirred such emotion, much less any other book. I mean, you had
Professor Umbridge (sp.?)
who you absolutely loathed, and then
Shnuffles
who just made you so sad
when he died
. I also thought that the trademark ending battle scene was the most intense battle ever...what with the number of people and how brutul everything was. It's also worth mentioning that the things at the end seemed to happen very quickly, and it was sometimes hard to understand. I don't know...perhaps it was me trying to race to see what happens. One part that I didn't quite get was, what did Harry's aunt have to do with making him stay at the Dursley's every year for protection? EDIT: Oh yeah, Juuthena, the spinning effect has a role in the book, so while it looks cool it wasn't put in there merely for the art. And Solo, you mind putting up a picture of the UK Harry Potter cover so that we have something to compare it to?
3. Ohhh, I just cannot keep my hands off the book. It's very rare that I read, so when my grandparents came over today and found me reading for almost the entire night, they kept saying "Oh my gosh, and he's still reading that huge book." I think that this book really has the potential to be my favorite in the series. As Asuka says, yeah,
it's great how much tougher Harry has gotten; it really takes a sharp turn from the other books in that sense.
With all of these surprises and twists, but not too many, it's very exciting, and amazing that after so long J.K. Rowling still has enough in her to complete another fabulous book in a world that's completely out of her own head. Not surprising that the book is so popular that it's right up there with the bible in sales, translated into 55 different languages, and now Rowling is richer than the queen of England. But yeah, onto my progress. I just got to Chapter 24, page 516, since I've been reading all day. I'm usually quite a slow reader. o_O But what does everyone think of the cover? Personally, I find it to be another plus for the book, and again my favorite of the series. The whole blue sceme is AMAZING! >
4. Well, I got it last night as planned, more or less about 12 hours ago now. I got there around 11 and the parking lot was already filled, and when we went into Borders there were a lot of little kids chanting something in the back. There was food, at least from the store snack area thing off to the side, but when we finally got in line to get something to drink, they closed it up for some reason. I have to tell you, though, there was a much bigger fuss for this book than with any of the others, owing in part to the 3 year time lapse that allowed for people to read the book. There was much more order, a lot more people, and a good deal more stuff happening where the fourth book didn't even come close. So, we took our time, first getting tickets to get in line (we were 173 or so, and they started calling in groups of ten, which eventually expanded to groups of 40), and then took a look around the store. I noticed a good deal more than I ever had in the store before, finding manga and anime, as well as different games and accessories for gaming systems. The only thing out of that bunch that I got was a GameBoy Advance multiplayer link, but I also got the books for my summer reading just to get it out. These books included 'The Catcher in the Rye' and 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' if you are wondering, along with some books for my brother's list (which into 8th grade is extra credit, BLEH), and then I just sat around and played Wario Ware for a while. Well, we finally got the book at around 1:00 in the morning when they finally reached our numbers, and ended up getting the cassettes as well, since my brother is too lazy to read the books. Since then, I, with my new LotR bookmarks, started reading the book, but after taking occasional breaks and sleeping in I'm not that far. My lazy brother, on the other hand, has been listening to his tapes all day and is quite a bit further than me, but he has a party to go to so I will be able to catch up. As for the book itself, I won't spoil anything for those who havn't gotten it yet, but I think it started off good, then got worse, but is now living up to my expectations where I am in the book. I'll get back to you when I finish. Oh yeah, the book has about 870 pages, a good 140 or so more than it's predecessor.
5. When you're buying a system, you tend to look for things that you don't already have. In your case, you wanted a DVD player, so you got PS2 instead of a GameCube. That's fine and I did the same thing, but say you could have gotten a DVD player seperately or with your computer or something, then you'd be able to have a much clearer look towards both systems. You said yourself that when you found out that the PS2 had a DVD player, you still wanted a GC, but then you went on to say that you were bummed out when GC came out and didn't have a DVD player. o_O In any case, if a DVD player wasn't an issue, you could see that GameCube has something over PS2 because of its GC - GBA capabilities; and honestly, like Semjaza said, who uses their gaming systems to play CDs? So anyway, onto the games. First off, none of the games that you mentioned were remakes, they were sequals. Zelda especially was a horrible example, since the graphics, while being a personal preference, were extremely deep and amazing, and the story was on par with almost any Zelda game. The gameplay was honestly the best of any Zelda game to date, and as for Link not have a sister, this is a completely different Link of a completely different time. Strange? Yes, but it opens the door for a lot more Zelda games. And those that say that the graphics are kiddy are no better than those who say that Nintendo is a system that is geared towards only kids. They are ignorant and won't even give the games a chance before they make up their minds. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion and may think that the GameCube is a bad system, but some of your reasons make very little sense. You can buy PlayStation 2 if you're looking to fulfill all of your electronic needs, or buy GameCube if you want some quality games with gameplay that you can trust will be no less than fantastic, most of the time.
6. Yup, I reserved my copy months ago at Borders Books. It's been so long since the fourth one came out, and I miss picking the book up at midnight. The difference with this one is that I havn't seen as much hype with it as last time. With the fourth book, there was all this fuss over what was going to happen, things were in the paper how people got the book early, and I even knew what the cover was going to look like. So far, none of this has happened for the fifth book, and if so there was *very* little. In an case, I'm planning to pick the book up at midnight, but first go to the party that will be held around 10 pm or so. I'm hoping that there will be some good food. o_O I remember 3 years ago, we didn't go to a party if there was one, and when we got there 10 minutes after midnight, it was literally the longest line I had ever seen. Yet, ironically, it was also the fastest. Hopefully this year I will also have plenty of time to pick out my books for summer reading. actually, Harry Potter is on this years reading, but I'm still unsure of where or not to read it and do the assignment on it, since unfortuantely I'm not one that's strong enough to do that in front of my peers. *sigh* Back to the book itself, I have some ideas about who will be the one to die. If it goes along with all the hype about Hermione or Ron (since Harry obviously won't die) I think it will be
Ron.......
. Otherwise, my guess is that
Dumbledore will die
which would spark an interesting twist. I'll be reading this book nonestop when I get it, so I will hopefully be giving my thoughts on it as soon as possible, which should take a while considering the Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix will be 1/3 longer than the previous book. Add that to the fact that I'm a pretty slow reader...you get the idea.
7. Okay, this is really strange. o_O For one, why is Endymon's post going ahead of Majin Buu's? Secondly, why didn't this thread close? Something isn't right here.. By the way, the reason Neo stopped the sentitnals was because they are controlled by the machines through the Matrix. In the first movie, you'll notice the agents asking if the sentinals were sent, because they are programmers who can control such hardware connected to the system. Neo was able to use his "one" powers against them because they were part of the Matrix, but since he wasn't in the Matrix, and you can't bend rules in the real world, he had to pay the concequence -- passing out.

You must use better grammer, punctuation, and capitolization or it's very difficult to understand what you are saying. In that sense, if we can't understand you, then it doesn't contribute to the discussion and that post is spam. Such posts will be deleted in the future, and we may have to take harsher actions if this continues. We're not trying to be mean, we just want to have some ordinary, intelligent discussion that could be used if you just tried to do so.
9. Just curious, how many of you have gotten into car crashes at some point in your life, or have had an interesting experience while driving? This question primarily goes out to those who drive and were at the wheel when the incident occured, but others who have stories may share as well. For the drivers, what has the car crash/experience taught you about driving, and what would you now do differently? I have been lucky enough to have never been into a car crash, but I'm thinking about it a lot more since I am just beginning to drive. Hopefully I along with others can learn from your experience before we get on the road and make the same mistake. :) I might have forgotten to mention a little tidbit about how I have to share a driving story in Drivers Ed tonight and I am coming up empty on this. o_O Enjoy!

yuka-kitsune, you need to put more effort into your posts. If they don't entirely contribute to discussions, then it is considered spam, and may be deleted in the future without warning. Just a heads up. :)
11. This is rediculous. If you real wanted to know the font, you could find a picture of it on the internet and try out different fonts to match it, or see if a web page says what it is. Secondly, you put this in the wrong section. Adult Swim deals with television, hence, it would be correct in assuming that the thread would go in the Television section. :) Lastly, and probably the most important thing to take with you when posting anywhere on the boards, is that your posts need a little improvement judging by your last post, and be sure not to double post. The posts themselves not a big deal, just try putting more effort into your posts to make them more readable. As for double posting, you can simply edit them using the Edit button at the bottom of your posts. Topic closed.
12. I really don't think OtakuBoards allows clans as such anymore. We used to have clans back in version 2, but it didn't seem to work out. General topics about your clan are pointless, but if you wish to recruit members via your signature and have a friendly group or something, that's fine. :)
13. I've never had that...where I'll be falling and just wake up still. I'll usually jump, or when I was younger fall out of the bed. In that sense, I really think dreams are based off of what is going on around you. Say you hear your alarm clock go off when you are sleeping, and try and turn it off when you are dreaming, but can't, and wake up to find it on. Perhaps something like that, whereas you are doing something that kind of integreates with your surrounding or something. It's hard to explain, but if you know what I'm talking about, you'll understand.

The Italian Job

This looks like it would be a really enjoyable movie, and I've wanted to see it since it came out. The films looked like it had some good action, plot, and acting, which are the main things I look for in a trailer on whether I'd like to see it or not. Unfortuantely, my local movie theatre aparently had a lot of movies dropped into their lap suddenly, and after only a week or two of showing Italian Job, they took it back off. Currently, the only decent movie in my opinion to see there is Bruce Almighty. I'll take that to mean that I will most likely end up seeing this movie when it is released in six months, or perhaps by a lucky chance at another theatre somewhere.
15. Hmm, judging from how the topic in Anime Lounge about what sort of free stuff you got from Anime cons was closed, I suspect this one should be as well. As Heaven's Cloud put it, this is like asking what you got for your birthday.
16. This happens to me a lot, but not as often these past few months. I know exactly what you are talking about, where it feels like you are falling into your bed. However, I really don't think it deals with your dreams so much as your muscles, though it has happened to me if I was falling in a dream. I think this can be related to when an arm moves on a dead person; this is due to something in the muscles. Otherwise, it is pretty interesting to guess what exactly is causing this sudden jump, if your not too sure. I think it would be cool if this was due to levitation when your mind is extremely clear just as you are falling asleep. o_O;;; Or maybe I'm just crazy.
17. I think this would be best to move to the Literature forum. I'm sure that if anyone would know how to write a story for a manga, those who browse that forum would. Mods feel free to close it there if you feel that it doesn't contain good discussion.
18. I think my favorite thing about the internet is meeting tons of people who have things in common with you. In the real world, this is limited to the people around you, which shape you in a sense to be more like them. In the internet, you can have any opinions on a certain subject that you like and you are guaranteed to find someone else with the same thoughts on one subject or the other. For example, I like anime. I have a small group of friends in real life that like anime as well, but a ton of others who don't. But on the internet, I can find TONS of people who like anime, and even ones with the same tastes in genre. I'd say that some of my best friends come from right here on the net, mainly because you can judge someone on their tastes and not appearence, and like I said before, you can easily find someone that likes the same things as you do. OtakuBoards is my main source of this information, and already I think I have made better friends here than in real life.
19. I think I'm one of the only people that really enjoyed Metal Gear Solid 2 and it's story line. Bleh. Of course, if what you say is true, I'll absolutely fall in love with Twin Snakes, but that's another story altogether. Tony showed me this clip of Snake Eater about a month ago, and it honestly freaked me out, what with Snake eating...snakes and all. When I watched it a few more times, I think the forest setting sunk in a little, but as James said, walking around trees alot could become sort of tedious. I really preferred going around military bases and whatnot from the second game, and that's how I see a MGS game, but I'm confident that Konami will blow us away with this title with amazing gameplay, graphics, and hopefully a story-line where you will be in control of Snake for most of if not the entire game; I think that's one of the things that people disliked about the second title. On the positive side about the environment, though, it would be pretty interesting to sneak around in a forest. You'd have camafloge on, hide behind trees, and act out some insane guerilla warfare. There are some things that could easily be done wrong when creating such a senario, but Konami has probably gotten out on top of worse in the past. :-/
20. Ah yes, this game was EGM's cover feature for this month. It will be very exciting to see the series' transition into 3D after three fantastic GBA titles. Sure, Konami did the same thing on the Nintendo 64, and I even have one of those games, but I rarely played it and from what I hear, Lament of Innocence it going to blow it out of the water. I like the fact that LoI is going to be coming to PS2, since I have the system, but I would have really preffered that it have come to all of the systems, or at least GCN, since my GameCube friends are whining about it, lol. I find it to be surprising that the game will be exclusive for Sony's system, in my opinion, but at the same time it would be understandable because of Symphony of the Night being for the PlayStation. As for the game itself, it looks very interesting. The story about how the main character is the forefather of the Belmonts is an interesting point that I'm surprised Konami aparently hasn't covered earlier. The graphics may not be the best using the PlayStation 2's system, but the game looks very polished when looking at the screens nonetheless. I read that they are taking their sweet time to make this title the best Castlevania yet, and aparently throwing out the style of camra from Devil May Cry for one more like Ico. It very well may be the best installment in the series' as long as they can carefully bring the elements from the 2D games that made them so good into 3 dimensions. We'll see.

23. I thinks it's safe to say that the scariest way to die would be slow and painful. Use your imagination. :) Maybe to be in a coffin, not that it would happen with todays technology, and wake up underground. *shivers*
24. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, WW2. That was exactly what you needed to do. legeto has now been banned, you won't have to deal with his nonesense anymore. To other moderators, I hope you can see why I skipped over the warning altogether.
25. If there was no anime...I'd both have a lot more money, and I'd find a new form of entertainment. Probably more so that I'd have more money, since even now I'm saving up for a new anime, and then I'm going to buy a $100 anime after my birthday. I already have plenty of other forms of entiertainment, such as TV, video games, computer, and soccer; I'll just have to expand more time in each of those things. I'd like to say that I would die without anime, but that would be rediculous, lol.
