I think that we do have control over what we do, but I know what you're saying. Sometimes I fear doing something out of my control, and then trying to explain my actions afterwards. In any case, about thoughts, they don't really pop into your head so much as they are generated by things that you know about other things. It's difficult to really explain, and even then it wouldn't be completely fact, since we would be guessing. I feel control over the things that I do because when, say, I go to type, I type. It's not like if I try to do something it wouldn't work. Then you work backwards and it would probably be the same thing, whereas if you try not to do something you wouldn't do it. Have you ever accidently done something that was out of your control? EDIT: I believe I may have interpreted this wrong..

Oh yes, I too have noticed quite a change. If I was a moderator when the past me first joined, I probably would have banned myself. Most of my posts were complete spam, with poor grammer and puntuation, and I'd even use specific letters as words, such as "c" and "u". You know what I'm talking about. ;) When I joined in June of 2001, I would post a lot more than I do now, mainly because I didn't take the time to put any effort into my posts. Of course, as Piro said, the boards were much more lenient back then and nothing got done, down to where people would be talking about Dragonball in the test forum and no one would do anything about it. o_O The boards have matured, and so have I, so instead of going back to when the boards first started and trying to answer every single thread in the Dragonball forum, I find myself posting not as often, but with much more thought-out posts, and in a variety of forums. I am very thankfull that I didn't join in one of these newer versions, where we are more strict in making sure that everything goes well around the forum, lol. The very old versions were a mess when I look back; bleh.

The File You Are Looking For Is Inaccessible. It doesn't come up for me either. So far, however, this thread has become nothing but spam. When you make a new thread, please try to upload it or something, rather than host it off the internet, since it will deffinitly work here.

Once again, I am confused by this poll of yours. You could have changed the title to something like "Rate this picture", or you could have changed the choice to "Yes" or "No. You don't even need a poll for every image, you know. ;)
-
Wait, I'm confused. Is the poll there to rate the image, or see whether they need work, 1 being No, and 10 being Yes? If it's the second one, why not only have 2 choices, one being Yes, and one being No.
Originally posted by legeto Well I think the Otaku Should cut down on some rules I mean I work at a forum 10 times the look and better as this and there rules are have fun not be strict about everthing And How much do you want to bet me ill get penalized for this because I have a right of opinion but oh well I guesse this forum is to strickt and I only post here becuadse the one I work at is down
You work at a forum, and yet you do not use proper grammer or have any indentations in your posts? I wouldn't want to post there. o_O Your right to your opinion is there, but limited to our forum rules. If you come and start spamming, you can't just wave your behavior away with "it's my opinion to believe that spamming is fine." That's basically what you're doing, and it doesn't work like that. If you can't respect the rules set forth on this forum, then you can leave. And if you think the moderators are too strict here, then I suggest going to Otaku Lounge and reading the thread entitled "Poll: Moderators too strict?" Once you finish reading the whole thread, then by all means - post your opinion on it. :) And this ends the discussion on legeto's behavior. Any further posts on the matter will be deleted. We have an image to rate here.

I'm afraid that you are all breaking the rules here. Let's start with the person who made the thread. First of all, there are many ways to find out what .hack is about. You can use search engines for information, or even go through this forum to get an idea. A question this general really doesn't belong here in the first place. Also, you are asking for a link to a site, which is both against the rules, and shows that you are too lazy to look for one yourself. The other two who posted here are guilty of answering his request with links to other websites. Be wary about the rules, and if someone asks for sites in the future, just don't post. Thanks. Not a bad idea, thought I didn't see the last one. Here is my picture:

He probably took some sort of shortcut that I don't know about, but I can tell you how to do it the long way. First, open up paint show pro and the image that you want. Go to Colors > Greyscale. Keep another copy of the original picture, and go to Colors > Colorize, and adjust it the way you want to. Use the magic wand tool or whatever you use to cut something out, cut out the portion that you like, and then place it overtop of the grey image, so that only that particular part is colored. Now repeat until you have all of the colored portions that you'd like on the grey image. :)

Congrats to Sara! And the award for the best computerized picture goes to DarK DeatH! Good job to DarK DeatH! Those who were not voted by all of the judges probably would not have altered the final decisions, for those wondering. This contest is now over! Done! Out! Shoo!

You know, sometimes I try to use OtakuBoards to classify something like a country or school. In a school, say, the administrators would be principals, the category moderators would be the counsolers for each grade (like each section), the tech staff would be the vice principals, and the moderators would be teachers, teaching particular subjects, the equivalent to forums. The members would of course be the students; a warning would be suspension, and a ban would be explusion. I hope that makes sense. o_O In this case, for a country, James and Charles would be the Kings or presidents, and it goes down from there. Not that it would actually work, but it's fun to think about, heh. I like the idea about using banned members as slaves. >.>;

Please, just put this in the other thread. We don't need multiple threads just to show individual banners. ;)

I think that blogs are so attractive for the same reasons you pointed out. You are able to really get to know people a lot better without asking them a lot of questions, and in some cases you get to see a different side to them, often a deep side that is covered by comedy even when you talk to them on AIM or something. It's an online diary that takes knowing people better without even seeing their appearance to a whole new level. With blogs, I can see more about my friends, and find more things that we have in common without trial and error questioning. That's why I like blogs. My blog address: http://syk3.blogspot.com Blog name: Asteroid Blues Thoughts behind it/reasons for creating it: Well, I had noticed that a lot of either people had started making one, so I made one to sort of keep up. I liked the results from personal experience when reading other's blogs, and wanted other people to feel the same way with my own blog. I also wanted to archive my life at this time through this open diary that I could always come back and read.

I'd have to say that, as well. Such topics could easily be avoided by simply looking around on the internet until you find one that you like. If someone wants to post a seperate topic with a Trigun banner that they made themselves, that's their problem. In any case, posting links to other sites isn't allowed, so I'll PM you with a popular one. Topic closed.
Originally posted by Sora What do you mean. I don't understand.
Try to expand on this. What don't you understand about her post?

He means like...well, sort of like what Final Fantasy Republic does. For those who don't know, you can go into their profile and add a comment about them, tell them hey, etc. I don't think it would work, Kenjeh. :/ There may be a lot of negative comments posted about someone, and it would be way too hard to control this even if moderators could edit it.

I have a few different favorite foods. I'd deffinitly have to include pizza, lol, since I just can't get enough of it, and eat it nearly every day at school. I had some for dinner, too, mmm. Otherwise, I'd have to say Bacon Cheeseburgers from most casual resturaunts, since they always cook the bacon just right, and I love the whole thing. For dessert, deffinitly cheesecake, plain cheesecake. I just love it, I can't explain why, lol. *drools* My least favorite food is...currently seafood. I used to eat it all the time, but lately I've found that I'm much too lazy to pick through each bone and shell, and get all messy while picking out the meat. Plus the butter that I sometimes would use gets all over the place. Ugh. I guess the food is fine when you get down to it; but I'm too lazy to get that far. :p
Originally posted by Battosai Existence is... A state of mind. Here's an example; Everyone's had a dream before. So, we all know that when we're in a dream, everything that happens in the dream is reality to us. (even if you're wearing a pink bunny suit, you still believe it :bluesweat: ) You don't even think about anything else, just what's happening around you. And, even if you think about it in the dream, you never prove/disprove whether or not the dream is real; UNTIL YOU WAKE UP. Just a little tidbit to chew on (with your mind, not your mouth!)
Not necessarily. I've had more than one dream before that I've knew was a dream, and I was able to manipulate it the way I wanted to. In one dream, I told some random lady walking down that she wasn't real and that it was just a dream, and it disappeared, making for quite a satisfaction on my part. :p Also, another dream I realized that it was a dream, and flicked some guy off, and when he was about to punch me, I woke myself up (on purpose). That would contradict your statement. :) As for the overall question, well, I can't prove whether my reality is real, but I know that I exist. Keeps the question open for the Matrix, though.
Originally posted by Hittokiri Zero Only problem with it is if was to be used it would look very cut off. Also putting a little line before "Rules" and after "calender" would be better. Hmmm... red text on red BG is kinda hard to read but that should due :P. And maybe a little more spiffyness to the banner o.o? Just subtle stuff.
It's always something, isn't it? lol I'm going to leave it the way it is, since I might as well make a new one if we are going to fuss about the old one.:cross: I changed the color of the text to red because the blue would seem out of place. Besides, I think the text looks fine against the lighter background; I actually edited the phrase a few minutes ago since it was too much like the background. *shrug*
Originally posted by DarK DeatH I don't get it... What's D_A? And the only "txt" I see there is "Black ram"... That's not "really" much txt... Well, whatever... Nice, I like it.
D_A are the initials for their user name, I'm supposing. And I think they are just trying to say that they don't usually use any text at all, even though they could have expanded that aspect for this banner.

Done. I might edit it a bit further after I look at it on my other computer, but I think this is what you all are talking about. It only took me about 10 minutes for the recoloring; I just had to go to my soccer game in the middle of editing it. :p (edited a tad)
Originally posted by DarK DeatH BTW, Syk3, the Vash banner doesn't look that good because of the background color... Try to use a faint yellow or red maybe, or just white... Other than that it is good. And the bottom one is very good, nothing wrong about it.
When I made it, I think I was originally going for a color that would be familiarized with OtakuBoards, preferably light blue. After that, things sort of fell into place. I can always edit the colors, though, maybe a dark red would look nice.

I really don't see the point of this. If that was supposed to be funny, you failed miserably. o_O Discussions in any forum have to be about something, or else there is nothing really to discuss. This is an example of what not to do. Topic closed. Welcome to the boards by the way. :)
Originally posted by Spastic Paroxys *grumbles* I usually don't point out grammatical errors, but I decided to in this case. When you put a ' it makes the word possesive. Like saying, "Kakashi's post". Plus, the plural of anime is anime. So there is no need for an 's' anywhere.
I wouldn't worry too much about something like that. Especially for a 10-year-old, lol.

Ok, I'm going to guess that we can use larger banners. Here are a few that I made back when James asked us to make some for the boards. I made three, and these two didn't win, so I see no harm in entering these into the contest. Maybe I can make some more in the future; we'll see.
