Heh, those multiple Agent Smith acounts are kind of funny...not. OtakuBoards views multiple accounts very seriously. Don't pull this again. As for this thread, so far you have proved that no intelligent discussions are going to take place. On sentence posts don't cut it; if you want to continue talking about the Matrix, do so here. Thanks, topic closed.

Writing The Fellowship in Sixth Grade (my first fanfic, and it's LOTR)
Originally posted by The Harrasser lord of the rings is gay. you guys are a bunch of loesers
The Harrasser, you've obviously entered this forum to spam. Just the context of which you said 'gay' proves this; complete immaturity. If you came to see how fast you can get banned, then congratulations. OtakuBoards doesn't need people like you. *Note: All prior posts made by The Harrasser have been deleted. I apoligize for any rude comments you may have seen from him. -
This may sound kind of stupid, but where can I find the director's cut? I'm hoping to study a little more of Eva during the summer time, and it would probably give me a lot of background information.
Originally posted by WW2 Oh, by the way I do own the entire series, and I can watch it uncut.
I thought you might...it's a lot easier to pick out an anime's faults if you have something to directly compare it too. It really encourages someone to get angry at CN...I've seen it happen before on this very anime, the disease is quite bad. -__-
Originally posted by WW2 Man screw cartoon network. Not only have they seriously edited Rurouni Kenshin, but also started rerunning the show when they reached the showdown with the supreme bad ***** Saito Hajime. You might ask yourself why they are rerunning the series already, while Media Blasters have already dubbed the entire series. I believe its because CN is still editing the Makoto Shishio saga. I can't wait to see how bad they screw up the final showdown between Kenshin and Shishio. Basically I wish CN had never bothered showing Rurouni Kenshin.:angry2:
Okay, that's enough. Not only was your bashing of Cartoon Network completely immature, but it's been done a million times in the past, as has our request, as moderators, for it to stop. How many times must we tell you before it sinks in? If you open your eyes you'll see that CN is showing as much as they are allowed to show, within the limits of cable television. Bashing them and totally hating them won't have any effect at all; if you don't want to watch it, then don't, and buy your own $200 series so you can watch it yourself with all of your blood and cussing that you need for an anime to be a great show. If you wern't introduced to anime on Cartoon Network, then you are at least preaching your opinions to many of us who were. That's is your final warning. One more slip and I'll personally see to it that you are gone.

Yay, happy birthday James and Adam!!! I like the backgrounds of the banners a whole lot, but the text in both does need a little work. You guys will love the little 'surprise'...but I suppose that's going to be a little later. ;) *knows Adam's age as well* *remember that he doesn't actually know Adam's age*

I kind of want to see this movie, but I know I won't be until it comes on HBO or something. I seriously doubt anyone in my family would want be able to sit through a scary movie, and I'm not exactly personal friends with people over 17, so it's not like I can go with a friend or something. It's a shame...I havn't been able to see that many scary movies, and lately they wern't scary at all. o_O
Originally posted by Juuthena I haven't been able to get my hands on Adobe Photoshop 8.0
*faints* There's a Photoshop 8?! *_* Not a bad banner, considering the person who this is based off of isn't exactly something I'm interested in at all. o_O I'd say try to add a border, change the font, and change the color of the font on both of them. That should make it look a little better. ^_^
-
I thought that it was 'czars' that were the old rulers, but whatever. I think the problem with the quality arises from both the pics and the way it was saved. The pictures are far from the best quality, but also there is a bit of pixelation around the font as well. What I usually save it as is under 'save for web' and use a high-quality .jpg. For what it's worth, it's a pretty good banner. Could use a border, though. ;)

It was too good for the world to see? o_O Well then I guess this thread is too good for itself as well. Topic closed.

At first, I couldn't think of my favorite Angel. They were all bad guys and none of them particularly stood out in my mind. When I went to check on theOtaku, I came out with solid decision. Angel #14 - Zeruel (Angel of Might) Zuruel has a vaguely humanoid appearance, except for its arms which resemble pieces of paper floating in the wind. In reality these are extremely deadly weapons, and they have the power to chop even EVAs into small pieces.
Zuruel did severe damage to Unit 02, and even heavier damage to Unit 00, which tried to kill it by charging the Angel with an N2 mine and self-destructing. This did not work, and Unit 01 finally destroyed it.
(I think I wrote that too, tehee) I really like this Angel because of how strong it's attacks were against Eva unit 01, rending it helpless. It was so strong that it awoke the Eva's inner...soul, which took control of the situation by first
ripping off one of the Angel's 'arms', placing it over where it's severed arm used to be, and creating sort of a humanoid arm. The Eva became 'aware' and while it was a great fight, it wouldn't have happened if that Angel was so strong, and so awsome, heh.

Originally posted by magic_raditz dont you agree that not being able to log out is impossible. if you cant log out then just take off your headset. once again like i said it dosent take you into some weird dimention, your just playing a virtual reality game.
Think about it. Like I said, the virtual reality would have to go to a point where you can walk in the game without walking in real life. So in the game, if you go to feel your head where the headset is, there won't be any headset, or rather, you just won't be moving your hands in real life. .hack is far from 'just a virtual reality game,' it's like a second world that you can live in. Plus, if someone else takes off your headset in real life, it may result in some sort of brain damage, something similar to The Matrix. Speaking of which, that's basically what .hack is, but with obvious differences.

There is no point to this thread in this forum or any other forum. If you successfully reply, then you will be linking to another site, which is deffinitly not alowed. Plus, I'm not sure how much fonts has to do with art, unless you are showing us some that you created. Topic closed.

Hmm, I chose 'within the next 5-20 years easy' but I don't necessarily agree with 'easy', lol. First of all, there are more and more MMORPG being created all the time, and with each one the environments and battles get more detailed. What game developers will be doing first, if they intend to go through with something similar to .hack, is make it nearly as detailed as the real world. Graphic engines will be playing a huge part in making something like this happen, and I think we are a good 10-15 years away from this, more or less. As time goes on, the online games will allow more people into the specific world, and the environments and possibilities will be huge. There will be towns and titles and you can raise up and such. That alone would be fun. But, if you want to go on with something exactly like .hack, the next thing that you'd have to worry about is obviously virtual reality. Now we do have some virtual reality games, but the latest I've seen arn't that far along at all. For this particular game, they will have to find a way for you to be moving in the world without you moving in real life, since you'd walk quite a distance, o_O probably run into things, too. It's hard to estimate how far off this would be; maybe 15-20 years with Japan's technology. I'd really like to be able to do something like this twenty years from now, but maybe that's just wishfull thinking to believe it could be done in such a short time. The producers of this anime had a good prediction in thinking that this could actually work sometime in the future, and while I believe that, once again I have no idea how long this could take to complete; maybe, hopefully in the next 5-20 years, but you never know. As for not being able to log out, that's a possibility, and gliches like such could end deadly. You never know that even if they find a way to do this, it may still be prohibited from going on the market.
Originally posted by Nephroxide Cool, you even matchd the font ^_^ :P nice to see im on teh respet list aswell. I'm sorry for letting this go so long; the banner was originally given to him when he requested it in the Banner/Avatar Request forum. Basically, any criticism you give him won't be helping anyway, since he didn't make it to begin with. Not to mention the fact that he took up half the thread trying to figure out how to upload this, there is no point in keeping this thread open. When you make a thread here, make sure that it is your own work, and not someone elses. Like I said before, the constructive criticism that people will give won't be helping at all, and that's the entire point of this forum -- to help people improve artistically. Topic closed.

I like it man, you have the right idea. It reminds me of the FFR license a lot...I made something similar to this, except with my picture and stuff. I even like the pixelated text in the corner; it adds something so that the background isn't totally plain, but doesn't make it a focus point. My rating: 9/10 I actually decided to make my version of it, lol. As for the ob respect list, that was't in any particular order, and I couldn't fit everyone's name, so don't take offense if you don't see your name. ;)
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel But, I do like to complain obviously.
Obviously. lol In any case, it seems like, to the movie theatre, you'd prefer: a) Illegally downloading the movie  or b) Waiting till the movie you want to see comes on DVD :therock: Sure, watching a movie at home is fun, but in the movie theatre, you get to see it as early as possible, on a really big screen, great sound, and with previews of other movies you may be interested in. Besides, I can't say that I've had many experiences with people talking throughout the movie. o_O The particular movie theatre that I went to for this movie was actually really big and had comfortable seats, so depending, seats are a plus too. ;) We were able to see it the day it came out, and the Matrix Reloaded preview was shown before the movie (even if you download it, it's not on the big screen with that kind of sound). You can't do that with DVDs.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel There's not much to judge in any of these shots really. There are maybe two tracks shown in them, one of which is obviously SMS based. I wouldn't get too worked up over it as of yet.
Looks more like four to me; a Super Mario Sunshine track, what looks like a default track, a city track at night, and what could be a Donkey Kong themed track, or just another SMS screen. lol In any case, I can't say that I'm a huge fan of the series (I skipped over the 64 version entirely) but I'm still excited to see what sort of new features will come with the GC version. Well, I can tell you that choosing two characters was the last thing I would have guessed they'd add, haha. I honestly don't like the idea very much, but it will open a much wider veriety to gameplay. The kart designs arn't that impressive to me, either, and it's hard to imagine most of these actually working in real life, even though that's obviously no the point of them at all, I'm just saying. LAN play is a very intrquiging aspect of this game that just might push me into buying it, as long as a 56k modem won't be too slow. I'd love to be able to play with people I don't even know. It would improve my skill and also force me to try different varieties with the two-player-per-kart feature.

I saw this movie with my friend and some of his friends, but honestly I never wanted to see it. For what it's worth, it was okay. It wasn't really my kind of movie, so I didn't really like it, but there were some funny parts. The movie was obviously targeted to a different audience from me, so in my eyes, yeah, it was pretty stupid. There was one funny part, though.
This was when the guy got on top of the car and started shooting everything, and got the other gang to leave. When he got down, the other dude asked him where he learned it, and Brad responded "Grand Theft Auto." The other guy was like, "Oh yeah, I got GameCast". "Game Cast? Well, there's GameCube and Dreamcast, which one do you have?" "I say I got GameCast!!" lol
You messed up on your spoiler tag, there. All patched up. :) --Endymion >.> How embarassing...lol -Syk3
Originally posted by Matt If you could choose only one new BIG feature for OtakuBoards, what would it be? Well, on other boards that use vB (http://forums.dodhq.net), they have taken out post couting all together. When you post, you get a "point". You then use these points in a store as a kind of cash to by things, ie avatars, glow text on your name, italic name, change your custom title, change someone else's custom title, etc. This is a very neat little vB hack that I would like to see as a part of OB.
But wouldn't that only increase spam? If you could buy such things, I think it would encourage members to post short, pointless messages, and that would only make duscussion worse.
If you could only add one new forum to OtakuBoards, what would it be? I would add a forum where almost anything can be posted (ie not porn, disgusting things, etc...). I want to see more topics like th infamous Sock Thread. OB seems to be very stuffy lately with all these sad depressing topics. And when someone tries to start a fun thread (ie, where are your boxers from?) it gets closed. I think a forum where fun threads can be posted would be good.
Eh, I think there is something about that too that would increase spam and look like we actually encourage it. Just like the newbie forum was closed, the rules will always be applied to all forums.
I think the language filter is corrupt. People know what you are trying to say, and blocking it out just makes it seem more "naughty" (:naughty: ) than it really is. And it seems to block the dumbest words. It blocks **** (shiat), *****, (biatch), but not whore or bastard. I would frankly get in more trouble if I walked up to my principle and said whore or bastard than biatch or shiat. I say take out the language filter. You gotta be pretty dumb not to know what the ****'s block out. Other than the corrupt language filter, everythign else it fine.
I think you're only looking at this from a "flaming" point of view. Think about the children! If a child can figure out what the asterics imply, then that can't be helped, but since there are kids here, some of whom have parents who don't want their children exposed to that language, it has to be done. Even with flaming, although some curse words are implied, it's a lot less offensive to most people with they are filtered out, and it makes the board look less trashy in the way of language. I understand that this survey conveyed the opinions of members, but I was just discussing why I believe some of those things may not work.

If you could choose only one new BIG feature for OtakuBoards, what would it be? I've been reading other people's posts, and I found that I'd really like to be able to edit my post color, size, font, etc. via my own profile. This way, you wouldn't have to type it in every time you go to post. I think that with this feature, I would more likely than not keep with a specific color when I post. People will remember that I used to post in teal as Solid Snake, but have since stopped doing that because you kept having to type it in, and I got lazy. If you could only add one new forum to OtakuBoards, what would it be? Neon Genesis Evangelion. If there is any short anime series that deserves it's own forum, Eva would defifnitly be my choice. With 26 episodes and 2 movies, they go so deep into the series that it can create quite a lot of decent discussions. If you think that Eva is slightly complicated for some younger members, remember that there are some here (i.e. Sephiroth) who are very knowledgable in the series, and can explain things a bit better for them. Would you like to see a closer link between OtakuBoards and sister site, theOtaku.com? A while ago, I really thought there should be, but lately I've been seeing them as two completely different sites. I honestly think you have enough links, to theOtaku.com at the bottom of the page and to Fan Art in the banner, and shouldn't corner members too much on this issue. Would you like to see OtakuBoards open an affiliation program with other message boards? I think this is a pretty neat thing to do. Someone actually proposed an idea to me a few days ago where we could have competitions between forums. This would increase traffic to both the boards and the site, as well as open many possibilities in the way of competitions and such. We might even learn a few ways that we could expand our vb abilities. ;) Do you feel that theOtaku.com's chat system should be linked to OtakuBoards? No, I don't think it should. People who post in the chat are usually completely different than those on the boards, and they would just want to stick with that. The idea of linking them could severely overload the ammount of people in the chat at a time, and you could never keep with a single discussion. It would make the chat moderator's job a lot harder, and require more time. That's just my opinion, though. Are you satisfied with the level of spam control on OtakuBoards? I am satisfied with the level of spam for the most part. I think we are on the right track, and when I look at other forums, it makes me appreciate OB so much more after seeing how lenient those moderators are. We keep down the flaming and spam a lot better than other forums, which makes this just that much friendlier. If you could access OtakuBoards on a handlheld device (PDA, Generation 3 Mobile Phone, etc), would you access it regularly in this way? Most deffinitly...if I had such a portable device. ^_^ I usually try to get on OB whenever I can, and if I had the oppertunity to post on a car trip or something, I'd take it. Is it more important to have a large variety of skins, or smaller (and higher quality) range of skins? Personally, I think we should have a smaller range of higher quality skins. People can learn a lot by looking at the way a forum looks, and if we have some really low quality skins to choose from, it's not going to seem like we care about our board enough to outdo ourselves on the way it looks. Plus, through the selection, some people may skip over the message board altogether. It's deffinitly better to have high-quality skins for people to see that we really value our appearence. I really like your comment on retro skins; I'd use them without a doubt! Would you prefer to have anime/gaming-themed skins or completely original works? Eh, I'd say go with the original. Sure, it would look neat to see a Zelda themed skin or something, but when it's original, the possibitlities for the graphics and everything are endless, and we arn't limited to a particular color scheme or something. Do you actively engage Moderators and Category Moderators if you are having problems on OB? Even for me, yes I do. Like Shyguy said, we discuss issues on OtakuBoards a lot as of late, and are giving and getting advice if we need help on something. I have also recieved a number of messages from people needing me to help them on something, such as if they can't log in or out. Are you satisfied with OtakuBoards' child protection policies? For the most part, yes I am. Even with younger members, we can have detailed and educated discussions on a particular issue. There are some excpetions, but we can usually try to push them in the right direction if they continuously have problems. Some, of course, just cannot be helped, but that depends on the person, not the age. I think we are fast enough to completely erase any type of sexual imagery. There has only been a single case of that in the two years or so that I have been here. Language could still be worked on, of course. I think more cursing needs to be filtered, since even the current amount allowed on here has led to more than one person I know become personally banned from the boards by their parents. EDIT: Ah yes, about the banner upload, it's a good idea, except for one thing. I'm guessing that you won't be able to put text above it, or won't be able to put text below it. I kind of like having it in the middle. :)
Originally posted by Circéus simple, yet so appropriate... "Where did that *insert cursing word here* contect lense went???"
Heh, I like where you're going with that. "Oh crap, where the hell did I drop that ring?! S-stop the fight!" Er, well, you can substitute whatever you want for "ring"; it was just a quick thought.
