lilkid, please put more effort into your posts. At the pace it's going right now, you're not giving enough feedback to the artist for them to use in improving their work. And after all, if they aren't getting criticism then why should they post at all? I'll ask that you please read the thread at the top of the forum entitled Contsructive Criticism before continuing posting.

Hmmm, I think it would be better if you are going to be making a thread about your artwork that you might as well link to particular pieces that you want to get responses to here. That way people don't have to search through the site and go through the trouble to finding stuff on their own. If you care about comments on DeviantArt and not about the expansion of this thread, then I'm afraid this topic is spam and all you're doing is plugging your site. :/ If you wanted to put your devArt site in your sig though, that's perfectly fine.
Hey! That's really good! I thought that was a real butterfly sitting there! I am hoping to get a degree in Computer Graphics! I hope I start off as good as you are now! :catgirl:
It's nice to get input from you, but do you mind expanding your response a bit more? Constructive criticism is a must in this forum especially.
anyone? help?
Asking again is not going to get people to your thread any faster, and in fact inpatience often makes people less likely to help you out. In any case, double posting is against the rules on OB, but you're alway welcome to edit your previous post to add whatever you need. As for this thread, I believe that it's way too vague to hold a meaningful contribution. What sort of responses are you looking for? To draw hands.. well, I guess you'd need to either copy from your own or a picture, and just keep practicing until you got it right. I know a lot of people have trouble with drawing hands, but it's no more a problem than any other object. Practice is the key term here and I don't know how you can go much more into detail than that.
comoshain..sounds cool
This post isn't good enough! ~_^ Please provide constructive criticism as outlined in the sticky at the top of the forum.
The first pic looks like it was drawn by a kid...unless you are a kid then Im sorry for being so blunt. The are is awesome though, the pic in general could've been better. The second is good. Was it draw in MS Paint? Its cartoony. I LOVE THE THIRD PIC! THe colors are right and the is flashy and vibrant. That pic of the Phoenix is good.
Please provide reasoning and constructive criticism in addition to the comments you have already made. As it is now, they're rather bland on their own.

Do you think you could clarify that a bit? Do you want someone to make you a background, or do you have one in mind but you just don't know how to put it on your website? Or perhaps you figured it out already, since I am about a month late, in which case I'll just close the thread.
Hey was your last word text from the song Mad World?
Direct personal responses or questions should be done through PM if they do not fall under the purpose of the thread.

It's these sorts of threads that remind me why I haven't been coming by OtakuBoards much recently, heh. There are so many different theories and opinions on philosophies that I would love to debate, but unfortunately I don't have the time to quote and respond to each post, which for me is a shame. On a side note of my following argument, I came up with a phrase about a year or so ago that attempts to answer "the meaning of life." Basically, I would say that the meaning of life is to give meaning to it, whatever that may be for a particular person, rather than unifying the entire race. I am currently taking a course called Introduction to Moral Theory, and much of these questions have been raised and to a point.. somewhat answered. I'm reluctant to say that because as the title suggests, all we truly have to go on are theories. With that in consideration, however, great minds such as Aristotle have made significant progress in what goes into a good person, and for that matter, why we care about being good in the overall purpose of life. I could go on for a while on this subject, but I'll provide the basics and ask you to refer to the book Nichomachean Ethics if you want to continue learning about what I have described. I understand that my post will be a bit of a tangent, but it does cover these questions. Think of it like this: in order to know whether any object is good, you must first know what it is trying to do. This is not a use, but rather a proper function of this thing. For example, a tire could be used as first base in a pick-up baseball game, but the function of it is to roll, so a function is what is built into something that it is intended to do all along. To be a really good tire, it must do its function really well. The same ideology can be applied to humans. In the search for a moral doctrine that people can live by, Aristotle seems to have uncovered an end purpose to what we are all attaining. For a second, try to think about what sorts of things you value in life, and think to yourself, would you trade that for anything? If so, what would it be? What is the ultimate end to these goods? Imagine a single end goal that we're trying to reach, which can also be called a purpose to life in an entirely realistic sense, outside of what you may believe in a religion. Would that help to know if you're curious about this thread? This end goal is Eudaimonea, a Greek word that roughly translates into happiness, but is close to happiness over the course of your lifetime. It's not really about why we're here, but what you have to live for and do with your life rather than just sitting there and rotting. So how do we know eudaimonea is the function of human beings, and how should you use it to your advantage? Well, there are three points to be made of how it's happiness over you're lifetime. First of all, it's read off our actions; it's clear that every action someone makes is in some way a reflection of how they percieve it will make them happy in some way. Second, it's the state of which we will reach naturally without falling into poverty, or in general if nothing stops us. And third, it's uniquely human because of the inherent rationality (what we have in common with plants is growth, with animals animation, but we can reason which sets our goals apart as well as above any creature on this planet). Obviously everyone wants to be happy in life, so use that foresight to take advantage of virtues that will help you accomplish this function. We're not guarunteed of anything after this life, so might as well make the best of what you have. I'm also taking an Astronomy course that is teaching about the big bang theory, which would lead to the answer that humans themselves are part of a cosmic coincidence. So yeah, I felt the need to share and I hope someone is able to take something away from the post.
Anna did draw these she's my best friend and she shows me everything she draws i even sit and watch her draw them so I defenitly know for a fact these are her's -Rosette
Unfortunately, I'd have to say that something like that is impossible to prove with an online message board, 1. that you've seen her drawings first-hand, or even 2. that you're her best friend to begin with. In fact.. it may be quite difficult to prove that you did it in any respects, while if you didn't do it, evidence could easily be found online. All we have to go on is your word, and I really have no idea how desperate someone would have to be to post someone else's work, so for right now I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and keep this open.

I'm not sure if people will find it hard to find on their own.. but assuming they do, we generally request that you link directly to your artwork just to make it easier. That way people have an easier time of knowing exactly what you want discussed and critiqued. I mean, you can post the link to the site on the side, and that's fine, but assuming you update regularly anything, you'll have the chance to post with more direct links (though you may be planning to do that in the future anyway). But anyway, onto the actual comic, I think it's awesome. lol Classic Gavin humor. The artwork isn't too bad; you can see everything fine and it's just as good as the rest of your work, but there's always room for improvement. ;p Except in this case, the important part is the funnyness, and you have it down. Can we except a bunch of gay jokes, though? XD I mean, these are funny, but they'll only take you so far.
-
There's a link now.. but I'm afraid it's too general. You may post individual pictures and have us constructively criticize them, but as it stands now this is just a plug for your site to get more visitors, comments, and possibly favs.
OMG!!! I don't like your art because it's to good! :animeswea It looks really good. (I wish I knew how to draw like that...)
Please read the Constructive Criticism thread carefully in the future and provide detail responses to support your claims. Otherwise, the artists will not be able to improve or retain their skills.
The second one and the last one are great, they really have a spark. im sure you could take it to new hights if you wanted to, which i would love to see.
What spark is this that you mention? Please be more specific, and explain what heights you mean.

Art Look At this Pic and plz give comment!!!
Syk3 replied to PrinceofTennis's topic in Creative Works
It's actually pretty good. I just have one question: how do you put a selected picture onto the adobe illustrator and make the picture have no color filling?
Please make questions as a side note. The topic at hand requires a deeper explanation into what you thought about it is "pretter good." It's a rather small picture; is there any way of showing a bigger version? Also, I'm a bit unsure of the work that you did here. Are you saying you did it all from scratch, or colored, or what? -
It gives me goossebumps just looking at it ,i like how you colored it...very good
Your post just gave me goosebumps, too.. I was on the assumption that all members had read the Constructive Criticism thread.
thank you vey much D-L33T-SHUN im glad you like it heehee wow i sounded like a robot!
It's probably better to respond to a post in general with more than just saying "thanks for dropping by", but perhaps continue a discussion that has to do with the topic at hand.
Isn't it funny when you get a lot of views, but ppl are too lazy to type even a simple i like or nice colouring..at least
See above.. way above.. something that simple isn't acceptable on OtakuBoards, while it may be on other forums. We're looking for something that goes into a detailed discussion.
Typing short, not-constructive-criticism posts are spam, that's why. The link to the rules is on the sidebar at the top, in case you missed it.
I appreciate you catching that, but as it is our job, I appreciate you just letting us know in the future. :) YohsAnna, we do not allow double posting on this forum, which is why we have the Edit button at the bottom of your posts to use if necessary. Also, be aware that OB has very strict policies on posting artwork that someone else had created, and if that's what you're doing, you will most certainly be banned. And I think that's all I have to say for this thread.
Colors: A Welsh country side, a small creek maybe with lots of green colors and bright flowers, with 2 or 3 trees.
Tyler, please pay close attention to the rules of the thread, and for that matter.. the other stuff that you write. When making parameters, "colors" do not include a description of the picture. Just, you know.. colors.

If you're just going to remove the image if no one posts, then you are pretty much assuring that absolutely no one will be able to post anyway. But if you put it back up, you'll still have the chance. ;) Otherwise, let me know and I'll close it because this thread will be subsequently worthless!
I think your banners are cool! :catgirl: Furuba is one of my favorite shows!!
Not only does your post lack any meaningful constructive criticism, but we generally don't allow members to bring back threads after they've been down for a while, especially after a year and a half.

Raves aren't for everyone. You actually have to go to really see if you like it or not, though, and if you do like it, it's because it's a fun thing to do. lol So you're asking what the point is, well people have fun there, and that's all there is to it. :p The only real rave I've ever been to was a couple weeks ago when they had one at Otakon, a big anime convention. XD And yes, I know what you're thinking: otaku people dressed up in costumes trying to dance with glow sticks. Bad idea. But with a solid execution and people there to kind of model what you're supposed to do in a rave, it turned out to be a blast. I've been to dance clubs before where they played a lot of rap, and they don't really compare much to this rave that I went to. The main differences between clubs and raves, I noticed, were the music and dancing. The rave I went to played a lot of techo, and though I don't listen to much myself, it was fitting. The rap was fitting for the clubs too in a sense.. but I'm not a fan of rap so I was never able to really appreciate it. As for the dancing, I'd quickly compare club dancing to, well.. having sex with your clothes on. Rave dancing, on the other hand, though you might get pretty close to your partner, puts a bigger emphasis on feeling the music and dancing on your own. When I got in there, I didn't plan to do much dancing, and instead just walk around and see what it was like, and maybe watch for a bit. As fate would have it, though, I ran into some girls that were in my old anime club I went to, and they sort of forced me into dancing. lol I don't know how to dance and am pretty shy to say the least, but they somehow taught me to break loose of those barriers in a sense. I think I was in there for a couple hours, and had a really fun time. Even if you don't like them much, you have to acknowledge that there is a point to having them. ;)
Very good! I like all of them. I also use MS Paint. I like the fact that you use something so simple as MS Paint instead of something like PhotoShop. I also made an attachment to one of my MS Paint thing a ma jiggers.
Please try to stick to the topic at hand and avoid showing one of your own pieces for any kind of feedback. Constructive criticism is always a must.

Thank you all for your comments and critique; they are very much appreciated. ^_^ Unfortunately, these pieces that I'm posting turned out not to get me any credit for college, so that was a real bummer.. but I'm glad that they are being enjoyed by some people, heh. I guess I did improve in the process, but who knows how that will come to help me in the future. To answer a couple questions, though, yes Annie, that is my Champloo bandana. And klinanime1, I'm not surprised if you think that some of my pieces seem a little rushed, because in all honesty, they were. I had to have 24 pictures done by the end of the year, and that's not an easy thing to accomplish. :/ But anyway, on to new artwork.. Please have patience when waiting for someone to respond to your thread; if they are going to post, they will eventually do so. Posting again won't necessarily make them want to change their minds. Either way, double posting is not allowed on these boards, especially if you're using it to bump up your thread, heh. But I'm being nice, so look what I'm doing now. ;)

Request Help Tozoku with her secret anniversary project? (I draw back)
Syk3 replied to Tozoku's topic in Creative Works
I encourage people only to really post if they have made something, or are seriously planning on doing so in order to help Tozoku out. I haven't checked the links myself, but as for getting you for this, I don't see anything else particularly wrong with this thread. :)
