1. Technology, eh? What about a hover board? That would be cool. It would be faster and easy to get places, and it wouldn't hard the environment unless we ran into a tree or something. :) Plus, people could use them at a younger age, as an alternative to driving a car. It wouldn't use that much energy on your part either. Maybe not a brand new idea, but it hasn't been invented yet...that we know of. o_O Heh, it's fun to dream...I even made up some blueprints for a hover board when I was younger, not that it would actually work, but I think it was a pretty good idea. ;)
  2.
Originally posted by Juuthena ooo! Come to DisneyLand!! Pleeeeaaase? ^-^ I get to go to Disney Land This summer! It'd be sooo kewl to meet you guys. ^^; *drags Syk to Cali*
Funny thing, I'll be in Cali early July, and maybe go to Disney land for a few days. :) But if it's anywhere near San Fransisco...it may be a bit far north for me to go, since I'll be staying in San Diego and Los Angelous.
  3.
Originally posted by Jinzouningen17 From the thread that was posted months back which can be found at http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17935
Thank you, lol, I knew that we had a thread about this somewhere... Anyway, I dug up this little post I had made in that thread:
Originally posted by Syk3 That's a good question, but I remember it like it was yesterday... I think it was 6th grade. Yeah, seems right. My friends started collecting these cards, and when they asked me to join, I told that that I wasn't interested, that I'm not into that kind of stuff. I was wrong. No, it wasn't Pokemon cards (bleh) but Ani-Meyham DBZ cards, and I started collecting them almost immediately for some reason. Of course, now that I started collecting the cards, I wanted to watch the show. Granted, this wasn't the one on Toonami -- there was no Toonami. I started watching it when Radditz first came down, when Space Ghost was hosting it. o_O Anyway, I really got into it, and until about the middle of 9th grade. I finally got over DBZ and started watching other anime like Cowboy Bebop, then lived happily ever after.
After all that, here I am, an Anime moderator. Didn't see that one coming! ;) I own 5 different series on DVD, as well as 3 movies (that are actually based off a few of the series that I own o_O), and I've seen close to 57 different anime series and movies. Not the whole series', mind you, but at least about three episodes -- enough to get the picture.
  4.
Originally posted by vegeta rocker (stares longingly at poster on wall) It seems pretty cute from what i have seen. Didn't the creators of Eva have somthing to do with it? Or maybe i am thinking of another anime.
I believe that you may mean "His and Her Circumstances" which is the only romance anime I know that has been created by the developers of Evangelion. I could be wrong though. I've never even heard of the series. This is the Japanese title, is it not? Does it have an English one?
  5. I went to Disney World in Orlando, Florida about four years ago for my dad's fiftieth birthday. This trip also included Universal Studios, and it was very fun. I stayed for a week; an entire week out of school having the time of my life, heh. I saw a lot of stuff, most of which I don't remember now, but I know that I had lots of fun and would like to go again. I think I did get more out of Universal, though, since there were so many more rides and stuff to do. I even saw this raft thing, and it had my first name, middle initial, and last name, I believe. It may have even had my whole middle name on it. I was speechless. So, yeah, I'd really like to go back to Disney World. Maybe hook up with a few OB members while I'm at it.
  6.
Originally posted by AnimeAddict ::in state of shock:: You kidding me? I thought Ed's voice fitted fine... In my opinion they Japanese and English voices are pretty close in tone..... p.s- do i make any sense? is 'fitted' a word?
First of all, it's "fit." Second, please stay on topic. Not anywhere in your post did you mention the Cowboy Bebop movie, and that is what we are discussing. Your statement is much too broad enough to cover the movie, but rather the entire series.

    Holes

I can't believe that they are making a movie out of this book. I really enjoyed the book, but I don't see how the movie could match up with that. I may skip over it entirely, so as to retain my memory from the book.
  8. Well, I just saw the movie in theatres, and I must say, my friend and I were impressed. They kept the story and most lines entact, and they even had the same voice actors from the series. It was a totally different experience watching it on the big screen. When I first got there, we were staying in line and it was 10 mins until the start of the film. Suddenly, some guy yells out that the Cowboy Bebop movie was sold out. We were so mad that we didn't get there on time, and were about to leave when we found this guy selling two tickets on the street. With five of us (me, my brother, my mom, my friend, his brother) it was agreed that me and my friend would see it because we wanted to see it the most, even though we had already seen the Japanese version of mine many times. Haha, so yeah, it was a challenge to get into the movie in the first place. Not to mention we are 15, but they never stopped us. I thought the transition to english was done very well, and I believe that it even had some extra pictures. The only voice over I really had a problem with was Vincent, which in my opinion was too similar to Spike's, and should have been deeper. So, overall, it was a great experience. It's 1:00 am right now, and I just got back, so I'm really tired and some of what I say may sound a bit off. Sorry about that. ^_^
Originally posted by God of Death I like a character that has a i don't care additude carrys a sword and kills peopleA.K.A vicious
Please put more thought into your posts. Most, if not all of your posts have so far been answered in a single line, and they include very little punctuation and capitolization. If not for my sake, do it for other so that they may read your posts more clearly and efficiently. And then you get into the posts themselves...I think that you could really expand on this particular subject, rather than say you want like someone with a sword who kills people. We would like to know more about their personality rather than that they "just don't care." It seems you don't care, either.
  10.
Originally posted by DuoNDscythe I have a question for Psycho. Are you following me and God of Death?
That doesn't have anything to do with this thread at all. But I have a question for you: how did you make your avatar that large? Our limits only go to 80 x 80, so if you arn't going to remove it, it's going to be taken away. To everyone: please stay on topic here. If you can't seem to discuss things relevent to the topic, this thread wil be closed. *Spam posts cleaned up
  11.
Originally posted by Watinabe (Watinabe slowy puts a gun to his head and looks at the screen) Please tell me it will be showing in Washington TriCities~_~...
Washington DC? I'm pretty sure that I've heard that it will be coming to the district, which hopefully means it will be coming to theatres in a 27 mile radius, lol, because that's where I'm planning to watch it. I won't be able to find out until tomamrrow morning, however.
  12. Okay, I'm totally stuck on this one part.
You know where you have all of these mirrors and you shine beams of light on them? Well, I got out all of the mirrors and moved them into their respective places, and I got this mini cut scene where it showed a picture of the sun thing that you have to light up both eyes and had that little music when you do complete something.
Well...how do I complete it now? EDIT: Nevermind, I got it. It was the first mirror I had to move, so that the beam of light shines constantly. Now I need to find out how to injure the boss...hmmm... EDIT AGAIN: I think I should just stop posting here. Evertime I have a question, I always answer it myself a few minutes later. Forgive me, I already beat the boss.
  13. Well, I know someone who has no life and beat the game already a few days ago. :p Anyway, according to him,
after you beat the game you can now play it through in hard mode, which will hopefully be bettere for those of you who found the game much easier than the previous titles.
I'm not sure if the same thing happened in the other Zelda games, but for thopse of you who thought Wind Waker was kind of easy, you can now be able to hopefully judge it a little better. Right now I'm in the Earth Temple. I just got to the final warping pot, so I'm preatty far into it, and I must say that this doungen is harder than the previous ones, even though I really havn't gotten completely stuck anywhere.
  14. Yeah, I recently found that out.
At first I think that I had to come to a complete stop, but then I saw that my sword was out, and it was smooth sailing from then on.
Right now, I'm stuck on
how you warp with the girl, or do you have to go ALL the way through the doungen again?
15. I really do not believe what I'm doing here, but I'd like to know
how to use the mirror shield. Stupid? Yes, I am. v_v I press start and it says to hold down 'R', but whenever I do, Link always crouches! I'm getting kinda mad at myself here, so if you know how to aim it, please tell me. Five minutes is kind of long for trying to learn how to use a new item. o_O
I know I've done it before, but I just don't remember how.

    Trigun
Originally posted by Plant_Angel Oh, sorry! I get carried away ^__^ But even so.....a Trigun movie wouldnt be a bad thing! *looks to sky and prays*
o.o Stop looking at me! I told you, my name is Syk, not sky. I think it would be good to have a Trigun movie, since they left some open things unanswered. By reading between the lines, some of us may have found out, but others would like to know what species Vash and Knives are, how that one guy got his evil powers, or even what happens to Vash and Knives. All interesting stuff that the movie could add.
  17. Ah...I joined back on June 6th 2001, v2. So, I'm coming up on two years, but it feels like I first got here yesterday. At that time, I was totally obsessed with Dragonball Z. I also liked to draw them, too, which helped improve my drawing skills a lot. Anyway, I would go to yahoo every once in a while and type in "Dragonball Z pictures/images" and go through the sites looking for the best pictures. So this one site kept popping up, some site called OtakuBoards or something, I don't know, but whenever I clicked there, there would be no pictures! It got me so frustrated that on about the 5th time, I just decided to investigate the place for any possible pictures. I have no idea how I found the registration, but I did, and I became 'Gohan_Rules#1' (which I later changed to songohan, lol). The first topic I posted in was about why Pan's name was 'Pan', and I said something about 'how my mom sed it was cuz pan meant devil in another language, and the rest of the family's names had connections to devil as well' (Mr. Satan, Videl [devil misspelled]). Yup, and from then on I let the good times roll. But man, after that, I was on the net 24/7.
  18.
Originally posted by Watinabe Yhea I've seen a trailer on this movie and can't wait to see it so far.I know there supposed to stop some crazy terrorist that want to relaese poision into the atmosphere and the bounty hunters our there to stop them is that right^_^?
Yes, that is correct. I hope they didn't give too much away, so that you can actually be surprised when/if you see it in theatres. ;)

    Trigun
Originally posted by Watinabe I messed up on the title of this thread I meant TriGun on adult swim :( But any way I wonder if the dubbing well be bad have any of you heard it?:demon:
I have the dubbed Trigun on DVD, and it's done very well. In fact, I think all these dubbing complaints come from people who have seen both versions of Dragonball Z and stuff. Things like Trigun and Cowboy Bebop are practically identical. Can't say how much they will edit it for CN, though. See, the thing people don't understand is that sometimes there is a different between dubbing, and editing. A company dubs it very well, and then Cartoon Network may edit it a bit so that they can put it on their line-up.
Originally posted by kuro_faguero WELL...I've got all the Triguns, so I really don't care when it comes to the T.V though my friend might....BUT! I think I like the japanese version better than the english. Vash sounds like a girl in english. EDIT: To ANIME_FREAK: I'm sure you know that there are only thirteen episodes to the series and on the last episode it leaves many unanswered questions. If so, that's a pretty good deal for a 26-episode series. If not, PM me to get the site URL you can buy it from.
  20.
Originally posted by Vorvodoss [Evangelion] shouldn't be viewed by children (of any age)! Evangelion -- the whole series -- is way too complex for kids to deal with
Yeah, well, like you said you can't make a general statement like that. I think that to certain age, some kids may be totally confused, which I would restrict to about 13 or 14. I say this because I bought the series and movie shortly after my 15th birthday, and I understood it for the most part. Just go to theOtaku.com; I had to summarize that last third of it, including the final two episodes. It was mandatory that I understood it, lol. Plus, there is a rating of 15 years or older as a friendly suggestion. Back onto nudity, I think the beginning of 'End of Evangelion'/the end of 'Death and Rebirth' where it had the nudity was perfectly acceptable, and is one of the best reasons to bring it into the story line.
When Shinji tugged on Asuka (when she was unconsious in the hospital) really hard and her shirt came open, he was completely shocked at what he had done, and he was in a state of depression for most of the movie
. It just ties in so well with the story.
  21. Man, that Deku Tree dungeon is looong. It's kind of tricky as well, and after a while, I just decided to do the rest tommarrow. After all, I've already gotten to a point where you can teleport to another vase, but that was a ways back. Oh well, the longer the better. ^_^ All this exploring is great. So, what does everyone think of this in comparison to your previous favorite Zelda game?
  22. I'm pretty sure that the creator of Evangelion was in a state of depression when he wrote Evangelion. Not hard to figure that out, since the series had all these people who just went crazy. And then it gets to a point (eps 25 and 26) and the series just goes beserk. I'm guessing that's the part when the creator officially went crazy. In interesting fact about Evangelion, however, is that it's being remastered on DVD. It's already out on DVD now, but what they are currently working on is a project to upgrade picture and sound to the 21st century. It's kind of like what it would have been if it was made with today's technology. Same story, better visuals and sounds.
  23.
Originally posted by GinnyLyn O DANG--I need to take that
golden feather
back to Dragon Roost Isle.
I'm just going to say...you're going to be a little angry when you actually talk with the guy. Geeze, but it shows just how much there is to do in this game. I really admire games such as these that Nintendo comes out with. This is the reason I bought a GC -- Metroid Prime, Zelda...I just love these action adventure games when you live in this pre-made world that the producers created. There is so much stuff to do, and the fun factor out of ten is most always a seventeen. Anyway, on this game, my mini-game talent is where you have to sort the letters at the Dragon Roost post office. I got 26 on that after playing all night, haha. I have yet to beat the squid game, but I've only played it once. Right now I'm at the Great Deku tree, where you have that flower on the door that closes when you get near it. I'll figure it out. ;) What I like to do most in this game is walk around and get used to my environment, talk to everyone twice, and try to complete the mini-tasks. That's the main reason that 2 of my friends are ahead of me, when I've been playing a considerable amount of time more than them. Kind of obvious though; one of those friends isn't allowing me to be a fan of Zelda because I havn't owned and beaten every Zelda there is. o_O Obsessed freak! jk
  24. I actually have the dubbed version on DVD, and it is a great series. I can't say that I watched it all the way through in Japanense, but I'm sure it was pretty much the same thing, lol. Of course it's good, but I'm not sure how they are going to dub it for Adult Swim. Hopefully not a lot, but depending on how they do it, it may seem a bit different from the original. And for the record, I don't know who did the dubbing. o_O It was packaged onto a DVD by FX, though. If you want to discuss more of Trigun, do so in the Trigun forum.
